Okay: AU where poor new Count Chrodber discovers Sifo-Dyas's Snow White-esque glass coffin in Dooku's creepy hoarder crap in Castle Serenno's basement and somehow revives him.
....Buuuut it's like 10 BBY, Dooku's been dead for years, the Jedi Order is long gone, even Sifo's Magic Clone Army is pretty much donezo as the clones age out and the Empire transitions to Stormtroopers.
So Sifo-Dyas just like, takes a job as Castle Serenno's eccentric gardener and becomes one of probably many unfortunate things that Count Chrodber is compartmentalizing so hard.

Saw a post. Got to thinking. Am now wondering how my interpretation of characters differs from the canon, and how much of that is:
Deliberate and reasonable: in a 'fighting against canon-authorial biases' way (e.g. taking queer-coded characters to actually queer, addressing the religious stereotypes and racism baked into certain characters, expanding a female characters motivations in ways that don't match up to canon but do match up to Logical Thinking Human Behavior, updating language and slang to not include slurs, etc.)
Reasonable: in a 'yeah, I guess if you stretch your extrapolation of the canon, or focus on this part of the narrative, you can get there without contradicting the rest too much' kind of way
Deliberate: started nearly canon, and then 'ooc' but as an understandable result of the fic's events
Semi-Deliberate: kind of an art style thing, where it's definitely That Character, but through the author's specific style of dialogue and prose; author-tinted glasses, if you will
Semi-Deliberate: the author was trying, but kind of juggled too many things and you can tell that they slipped too far away from canon, and realized it, but didn't have the time/energy to fix it
Deliberate: different from canon, but within an acceptable standard deviation from the canon/mean
Deliberate: different from canon, in a sort of an AU-where-character-is-X, rather than just a different lens or the result of the fic events
Deliberate: ...but you should have honestly just made an OC, this is basically a different, new character
Probably not deliberate: different, but in a way that's kind of just. off-putting, and not particularly self-aware on the part of the author.
Feel free to reblog and have fun, and use this to talk about your own writing but DO NOT use this to vague and talk smack about other authors in your fandoms. Be Nice.

Cassandra: Hey! Meet my son from the future. He's your nephew.
Casey Jr: Hi!
12 April: Does that mean I get to be a wine aunt?
12 Casey: I CALL FUN UNCLE!
12 Donnie: What! How come you get to be the fun uncle?!
12 Casey: I think it's pretty obvious why.
12 April: Don't worry Donnie, you can be the nerdy uncle.

For reasons that don't need going into, I'm once again thinking about the logistics of hyperspace travel, and like.
Ok so you know how map makers put in trap streets and fake islands and alter the elevation of mountains and generally put in teeny tiny (or not so teeny tiny) errors to catch plagiarists? That, but hyperspace maps.
Like there has to be a fuck load of -- if not laws, at least generally accepted norms? about what you can and can't do, because... look, at the distances you (hypothetical GFFA space faring traveler) would be traveling, you're off by a fraction of an inch when you launch in the direction of planet funtimes-vacation-land and you end up like. 80,000,000,000 lightyears away from your goal, at planet oh-fuck-deathworld and/or in the literal middle of a moon and/or lost in deep space forever and ever, where no one can hear you scream.
So there has to be a sort of mutual agreement that hyperspace maps can't be like, 'oh yeah, there's def a planet here😉 it for sure orbits this totally real star😉😉 at 90000skm (space kms) a syear (space year)😉😉😉'; because, like. otherwise everyone would die and no one could use hyperspace ever, basically.¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Only takes one 'whoops they were trying to avoid our fake planet and crashed into an inhabited planet, killing all 4 billion inhabitants via the most literal meaning of terminal velocity' to make hyperspace travel a wee bit dubious as a concept.
(and also get your particular cartography company/space-gps company sued out of existence, either by the people who survived Alderaan V-0.01, navigational error edition, or by the big scary conglomerates that had interests in the outer rim mining planet you just got blown up, as relevant.)
Ditto altering the speed at which planets (moons asteroids etc etc what the fuck ever space shit is out there) orbit their relevant local stars; again, fractions of a second off really adds up over that sort of scale.
I'm assuming that there has to be rival cartographic companies, simply because like. gffa is medieval end stage capitalism on steroids. There's multiple map companies, even if it's just that kuat drive yards have their hyperspace maps for their ships, and dodgy-joe's shonky ships have their maps for their ships, and the jedi temple have their maps (which they have to install on the jedi ships by way of jailbreaking/rooting the navigation systems, presumably, every jedi runs the equivalent of a mid 2010s iphone with a million sketchy apps sideloaded), etc etc.
Anyway. Fake planets (moons etc) are out for reasons of not turning random tourist space-bus no #7629 into the Death Star (analog edition), ditto altering the speed of existing planets, ditto, presumably, putting in things like extra space stations or fake hyperlanes or black holes or whatever.
Which basically leaves you with renaming things! presumably most mapping places go real world analogous, and pick something pretty easy to think is real - asteroid #12-z-3095-y labeled #13-z-l14r, or the 56th moon of ult'klssyk and the 59th having their names mixed up, etc-- but presumably at least some do like. the most obvious examples.
Long story short nine million words later there's at least one map that labels Alderaan as Coruscant and Coruscant as Mandalore and Mandalore as Alderaan, and the ensuing media shitstorm/spwitter hot takes/spunglr memes takes over the galactic news for like. a month and a half.
At the minimum.

"If you wonder what to call me, You can call me King.' 'King of the World' - WAR*HALL Spotify / YouTube
Rex, the youngest Prince of Crown Fett in the Kingdom of Kamina. Belonging to a rapidly growing people that strive for harmony amongst themselves and mystics alike, born from a bond between an exiled Mandalorian and a long hunted Jetii, and all the other outcasts they found along the way. For generations this has worked, everyone thriving and peace maintained between the careful balance of the Jetii and the Crown.
But when neighboring kingdoms begin to succumb to a dark, so cold and so twisted in lies and death that neither Mandalore nor Kiffu can even escape it, this delicate balance is pushed to the brink. The secret of what this kingdom is truly built upon is revealed, and the last piece of light is now threatened to be snuffed out.
Will there be any love strong enough to keep from unraveling altogether? Or is there no bond left not soaked in the blood of their own deceit?
Sooooo this may have been born from me working on an @obiscribbles piece that won't release for like, ever (literally scheduled for December), which just didn't work for my 'obsessed with this AU' brain of mine. So enjoy this and other little snippets as I summersault through this new obsession, and if you have questions about it feel free to ask, because I am practically bouncing over this. But yes, anyhow. Rex really deserves a crown.
Enjoy!

In the Legends timeline, Asajj Ventress faked her death after the Battle of Boz Pity and hijacked a shuttle to get away from the Clone Wars. What do you think happened to her afterwards? How would she survive the Imperial Era? Would she have joined the Rebellion later on? Would she gain the will or courage to become a Jedi again?
Ooooh I think about this a lot so: I think as a plot point, in the story itself, it's better left unanswered. The way Haden Blackman left it is just the open ending I feel Asajj should be left with, and since Legends isn't going to be continued anyway, it's also going to be left like that forever irl. However if I do let my mind wander and think of some other possibilities, and I do, like all the time, there are so many options
I think first and foremost, something in her mindset would have changed. She no longer has a purpose, and she was discarded by a person she thought gave her a new one. I don't think she would try to be a Jedi again, because associating herself with the order, even if it's gone, is something that goes against some of her most deeply rooted principles and feelings. I do think she would start by going back to Rattatak and try to find meaning there. (Sorry if my internal search for meaning is seeping through to my favorite characters but it's hard for it not to) I think there'd have to be someone or something to drive her to become a rebel, even if it's the Empire itself destroying something she still holds dear. I think with that kind of thing there's obviously no definitive answer, and you can go whatever way you want with it. Her being a rebel is interesting because the Rebellion as an alliance has the goal of restoring the republic, and she used to be a Separatist and probably has a lot of Dooku's thoughts on it. I think she can also try to track down surviving/new Force users to create a new order and I don't have a particular reason for this but she has the vibes of someone with aspirations to create a new kind of force users order. long answer already but also. I don't think the Empire nor the Inquisitors have anything on her so it won't be too difficult for her to survive that era imo

Guys. GUYS. Wo Long Star Wars AU where they just poorly recreate the movies and slowly go more and more off script. My very first obsession meets my current obsession. The casting is mostly based on comedic value rather than who’s most fitting. Even if their role in a movie is over, they will still fuck around in the background.
Wacko casting includes:
- Cao Cao as Luke Skywalker
- Guan Ping as Princess Leia (ep 4-6)
- Gan Ning as Han Solo (ep 4-6)
- Xiahou Dun as Chewbacca
- Zhou Yu as Obi Wan Kenobi
- Zhang Fei and Guan Yu as R2D2 and C-3PO
- Sun Ce as Anakin “I don’t like sand” Skywalker
- Yuan Shao as Darth “fuck sand” Vader
- Da Qiao as Padmé
- Lü Bu as Kylo Ren
- Zhang Liao as General Hux
- Xiao Sheng as Finn
- Zhao Yun as Poe Dameron
-Merah/Lady Yan as Rey
-And many many more… Y’all can give me ideas. Gimme the most absurd.
Been a fan since childhood but I never interacted with the fandom because 1. HOO BOY and 2. I actually like the sequels, they just scratch a certain part of my brain real good, it’s probably the cinematography tho but idc (we don’t talk about the last movie) so yeah I would be torn apart. Haven’t been lurking since 2019-2020 and this is technically the very first time I share SW related stuff.
So. yeah.
Also also while making these I was rewatching The Force Awakens for the first time in a while on my phone online but I gave up halfway through due to my shit wifi making loads unbearably long so instead I put that Han Solo song (Ridin Solo) and voila.

ao3 wrapped - 3 12 and 26 please
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
definitely green zone. i've put the most time/energy/myself into it and it's really meant so much to me to hear from so many people about how meaningful it's been to them 🖤🖤🖤
12. How many WIP’s do you have in your docs for next year?
not counting the 3 fics i still need to finish? 😅 6 other AUs. idk if i'll actually start any of them next year, but they all have pretty detailed outlines and at least 30 fully planned out chapters.
26. What’s your most common category?
i'll never not write an AU 🤡

Star Wars AU idea!
So, imagine, The Emperor is dead! Vader has been un-vaderfied! All is well with the galaxy!
And Ghost!Obi-Wan looks at the galaxy, and then at his Ghost!Jedi family and says, "I bet we can do better if we got another go around."
And Ghost!Cody says, "How? And Why?" And he's there because not even the force itself would keep him and his brothers away from their Jedi.
And Obes leans forward and smirks, "I'm gonna honeypot my way into Jango's affections and win sole custody of the clones. And Anakin."
And Ghost!Anakin, who is sipping a drink from Ghost!Starbucks says, "you already have sole custody of me. But having 3 million brothers would be awesome. Can I come?"
So they, somehow, fling themselves into the past. And Anakin is 4, and adorable, and his mother is alive!!! And Obi-wan is 20 ish, and is also adorably baby-faced. Which is a problem because so far as he's aware, Jango Fett isn't interested in Adorably Babyfaced.
The jokes on him, though. Jango very much likes Adorable Babyfaced jedi and he honeypots his way into Obi-Wan's heart.
Meanwhile Anakin and his mom are causing chaos on Tatooine. Anakin wins their freedom at the tender age of 5, and Shmi doesn't want to know where her precious baby learned how to hustle like that.

Soooooo excited for chapter 4 of star wars au. Are you gonna hit us with 40k again?
at the moment what i have planned for this chapter feels like it’ll take me about 20k to cover. it’s all from beatrice’s perspective - a little bit about love as a slowly-mending bone. a little bit about surviving in a very dark place.
with the lilith scenes i’ll be putting up (separately, for that sweet sweet e rating) this whole ‘section’ of luminous beings will probably end up closer to 30k.
i am as ever very grateful for every person who has given LB so much love 🥰

I haven't been doing a lot of writing lately. But I have been working on some world building for the Arclight AU. I found a really nice planet art generator called Pixel Planet which was perfect for what I wanted.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As usual, all of this is WIP and subject to change, but it's a start. The Odessen Coalition is slowly taking shape.

Legacy Post - The Knightwolf AU: Timeline
TLDR: shin and marrok grew up together but got separated for 10 years and are a couple during ahsoka. He comes back after the dusting. They have a redemption arc and settle down somewhere with a tooka to heal.
Notes: At the start of Ahsoka (9ABY), Marrok is 29 and Shin is 27.
>14 BBY
Shin and Marrok both grew up poor on a planet in the outer rim. They got lucky and found or stole or made the money to send Marrok off world to an imperial academy. The plan was that, once he had graduated and made enough money, he would come back for her and their families.
He got picked up by the inquisitor program, but his family was told he was killed in some sort of accident. Everyone was devastated, but life had to go on.
1 BBY - 3 ABY
Baylan found Shin at 17 and she went to train with him. She sent portions of what they earned as mercenaries home to her and Marrok’s families when she could.
4 ABY
Marrok ran into Baylan and Shin after being seriously injured while fleeing the fall of the empire. He stayed with them for about a week or two until he was healed. It had been almost 10 years, so he and Shin didn’t recognize each other.
Stuff happened. Marrok left to go do his own thing but bumped into them a few more times. He started working as a mercenary.
He and Shin weren’t quite close friends, but they would check up on each other every so often over the next year or so. Something felt.. familiar about the other. But they didn’t know how to explain it and never brought it up.
If Baylan and Shin were not already working for Morgan Elsbeth full time, they begin doing so during this year. They still took other jobs, but she always had work for them and she always paid the best.
5 ABY
Marrok was looking for work and Baylan introduced him to Morgan.
After a trial period, Morgan had Marrok sign a contract with some very fine print. She used some sort of Force power to make him “resistant to death” and to strengthen him physically. (He had chronic pain due to nerve damage from that injury.) In return, he would “serve her.” He quickly learned that meant literal headaches if he deliberately disobeyed her, but he didn’t find out what “resistant to death” meant until later.
Morgan did not reveal that she was a nightsister until Ahsoka. Marrok had no idea how she did what she did and his research afterwards wasn’t turning up much.
Marrok and Shin’s skill sets complimented each other’s, and they were frequently assigned on missions together. They became close friends.
They obtained a space Wii. Shin was very competitive when it came to Mario Kart
Time passed. There was a late night “let’s talk about our pasts” bonding session, and they finally realized who the other was. There was a lot of crying. They were basically attached at the hip for a while afterwards.
6 ABY
They fell in love at some point in the first half of the year. It was absolutely adorable.
Shin had a near death experience and Marrok promised her forever if she’d just stay alive. She got better and they had a conversation about it. They agreed they were officially together. (They were basically already partners anyway, but the experience prompted them to actually talk about it instead of just vibing)
Marrok died for the first time. They were on a mission and something went wrong, but he woke up a few hours later at Morgan’s home base. Huh. Guess that’s what “death resistant” meant.
7 ABY
Morgan and Marrok got into a disagreement and she held the fact that his life was in her hands over his head. Marrok and Shin started quietly trying to figure out how to break his enchantment without permanently killing him.
I’m calling it an enchantment here for simplicity’s sake. They don’t know what to call it because they don’t even know what it is.
Marrok began to notice that his body was a tad less corporeal than it should’ve been. He started dropping things occasionally. Every once in a while, Shin’s hair would fall through his fingers unless he was thinking about it.
They finally had enough money to help their families move. Marrok wasn’t ready to see them yet, so Shin went alone. He gave her a pre-recorded message to give to his mom. It let her know he was alive, he didn’t chose to fake his death or to leave, he wasn’t ready to come home or explain what happened, he was safe now, and he still loved her and his dad. (and also that they owed Shin’s parents whatever they’d jokingly bet on them getting together someday when they were younger)
Marrok had a whole angst train when it came to his family. He’d done awful things, but Shin had too so he wasn’t ashamed around her. But them? He’d left. He hadn’t come back. He’d grown up to be someone he was sure his parents would hate. It was one of the things he’d had to bury in order to sleep at night. The inquisitor program had messed him up real hard, and his life with his family felt a whole other world away.
Shin and Marrok had gathered a list of Force traditions whose depictions were similar to whatever Marrok remembered Morgan doing.
The outlook wasn’t great. Most of the cultures that practiced these traditions had disappeared or been destroyed in the last 30 years. Primary research would be difficult.
Nightsisters were on the list. They were hoping that wasn’t them because what little info they could find was old and contradictory. Much like irl info on nightsisters 🤠 (give me the secrets cowboy hat man 😫)
8 ABY
They were getting desperate enough to start taking turns snooping around Morgan’s spaces. Research was still going slowly. They did figure out that Marrok’s soul was connected to one of Morgan’s crystals though.
They ended up at a point where they knew that Morgan knew that they wanted to break the enchantment. She kept the crystal poorly hidden. It would’ve been easy to steal but they didn’t know what to do with it or if Morgan could cancel the enchantment—and kill Marrok—from a distance. Shin swore she was taunting them.
Marrok died a second time and came back visibly transparent. Almost everything phased through him now unless he was wearing it. He didn’t seem to need to eat or sleep anymore. He started wearing his armor almost full time because it was easier for him to concentrate on making it interact with stuff than himself.
It was becoming obvious that Marrok didn’t have a lot of lives left. They’d been trying to break his enchantment for almost 2 years and had made little progress. Marrok still had some hope, but was preparing himself to say goodbye. Shin was absolutely in denial. They were going to figure it out. They had to.
Morgan had them busier than ever. They started having less and less time to devote to researching his enchantment. They didn’t know it yet, but the latter stages of the plan to bring back Thrawn were now in motion
9 ABY
Ahsoka captured Morgan and Shin and Baylan went on the mission to free her.
Episodes 1-4 of Ahsoka happened.
Morgan was having the time of her life being all cryptic and mysterious. Marrok wanted a nap. Baylan was glad they made bank working for her, because listening to her antagonize his daughter Shin at every opportunity would not have been worth it otherwise. Shin was fuming that after all this time Morgan just casually admitted what type of magic she uses and started performing it in front of them. They could have spent the last 2 years looking into nightsisters, maybe found an excuse to slip away to dathomir, but nooo they were breaking into academic libraries and playing nice with village elders to hear old wive’s tales.
When Ahsoka cut his armor in half, Marrok disappeared into a cloud of smoke. This hadn’t happened before. Shin was shocked but didn’t have any time to think about it because she was busy with Sabine. He didn’t show up for a while, and once the adrenaline wore off Shin thought he was well and truly dead. He came back as barely more than a shadow. It was a rough night. [Link to post]
Marrok wasn’t able to make himself show up super consistently and she hadn’t learned how to recognize his new force signature yet. The first few weeks after ep 4 were really angsty.
Post Episode 6
At the time of writing this, episodes 6 and on have not yet aired. I’ve got some ideas for what happens post canon, though I may eventually develop an alternate timeline that better fits what happens in the show.
Marrok embraces his ghost era and pokes around Morgan’s stuff whenever she’s gone. He finds a few key bits of information that become important later.
Marrok and Shin have redemption arcs. Shin apologizes to Sabine for stabbing her. And choking her. And taking her prisoner. It’s super awkward but Sabine appreciates it.
Ezra and Sabine settle down together on Lothal, and absolutely no one is surprised when they’re married before the year is out.
Shin and Marrok do eventually find a way to safely fix his enchantment.
Ezra and Marrok become total bros, but Sabine and Shin are still working through their issues with each other. They agree not to actually try to kill each other anymore, but they still end up fighting in a space-Dennys parking lot like once a month for a while.
The “everything all at once” era begins.
slaps the roof of the metaphorical knightwolf car: “these two can fit so much trauma in them” 🤠
for real though, nothing bad happens to them in this time. They’re just safe and stable for the first time.. ever. So now it’s time to process all that, and even with good professional help that’s going to be messy.
Also Marrok is dealing with chronic pain again now that his body isn’t magically buffed, which is never a good time. He’s in and out of surgery a lot for the first year or two.
Marrok brings home a completely black tooka. Shin is 100% that person who doesn’t want a pet but turns into a cat mom after 2 weeks.
It takes a few years, but Marrok is able to go visit his family. Explaining who he is now and where he’s been is a whole process but it eventually ends well.

Summary-As a young padawan who has spent most of her life in or around the Jedi Temple, Wakatoshi is not prepared to the hustle and bustle of Coruscant. Fortunately, her master is there to help her calm down.
===
Wakatoshi had never been around this many people before. For the first time since coming to the Jedi Temple, she was out on one of the busy streets of Coruscant. Amongst the throngs of species and the smells and noises of the street. Each person that brushed by her had their own Force signature and had their own smell, both of those things overwhelming her sharp senses. Above her, ships whizzed through the airways, their engines roaring in her ears, nearly drowning out the noise of the crowd. Her lower lip quivered and she wished she had another hand so she could cover her nose along with her ears. She sniffed, trying to clear the snot that was threatening to drip down her nose, but was flooded by all of those kriffing smells.
She jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder. "Wakatoshi." She looked up to see her Master, Shaak-Ti, smiling down at her. "I sense something is upsetting you." Wakatoshi nodded.
"Everyone has their own Force signature," she said. She pressed closer to Shaak-Ti until her shoulder pressed against her long brown robes.
"I know." She ruffled Wakatoshi's short hair. "That's why we're out here. It's the best way to learn how to tune it out," she said. "Come here." She directed Wakatoshi to an empty inlet in front of a building. She knelt down so they were eye to eye. Wakatoshi tried to look into Shaak-Ti's gentle black eyes, but quickly looked away when it got to be uncomfortable. She shuddered when her master held her hands, hating the slight dampness from her sweat. "Can you focus on our bond?" Wakatoshi closed her eyes and felt the Force prickling where their hands were touching. As she narrowed her focus in on her Master's tranquil presence, the buzzing of the crowd seemed to fall away. Her breathing slowed down and her heart stopped pounding in her ears. Even the myriad of scents was more tolerable as she concentrated on Shaak-Ti. Her sweet, floral scent was the only smell that stood out of the crowd.
After a few more moments, the thrumming in her brain stopped and she was able to relax. Cautiously, she opened her eyes to see her master's soft smile. The sounds, smells, and disturbances of the street came crashing back into her senses, but at least she had a clear link to a calmer presence.
"Is that any better?" Shaak-Ti smoothed her tabard.
Wakatoshi shrugged. "A little."
"Okay, that's good. We're just out here to help with this over sensitivity. Most padawans have this issue, so we don't have to stay any longer if you don't want to." Shaak-Ti stood up and shook the dust off her long skirt.
"I do not want to."
Shaak-Ti started to walk back toward their ship. Wakatoshi grabbed onto her robes, clinging to her oasis. "We'll try again later, but next time we'll try a less busy street. Okay?" Wakatoshi nodded. "We can stop at that sandwich place outside the Jedi Temple for a channelfish sandwich, if you want." Despite herself, Wakatoshi let a small smile pull at her lips.
"Okay."
