Hey, Guys, Gals, Demons, Ghouls and Multi-Fandom Fiends!
This isn't a theory as a matter-of-fact it's going to be long but I need to get this out there. So, I have been on this decision for the past week. And here it is. So, we all know what's been going on with the whole William "Wilbur Soot" Gold situation that's been all over YouTube, Twitter, and just about any other Social Media Platform out there. I'm 100% behind Shelby/Shubble. I think she was very brave in coming out against what she experienced so, please go show her some support.
With that said, I know many people on here have either made the decision to either,
A) Orphaned or Delete their FanFics that have c!Wilbur Soot in them. If have decided to do that, your decision is valid and I fully respect your decision.
B) Have decided to stop writing anything with c!Wilbur Soot in them. If you have decided to do that, your decision is valid and I fully respect your decision.
C) Have decided to continue to write c!Wilbur Soot because it was never about the Content Creators, but the Characters that we, the fans, have created ourselves. If you have decided to do that, your decision is valid and I fully respect your decision.
So, with that said, I'm sure many people have been wondering about what I'm going to do. Here's my decision on this.
What I'm going to do:
I'm going to continue to write. Tommy Innit's Secret Clinic is still going to be written. As selfish as this is going to sound, it was never about the Content Creator William "Wilbur Soot" Gold who owns the YouTube/Twitch Channel. But it was always, always, always, about the character he played. I love c!Wilbur Soot from the Earth SMP, Dream SMP, and Origins SMP. I even love the character he plays in Sorry Boys. And that's the Character I will be writing!
I know when I first joined the DSMP, it was already starting to go downhill. By that time, Covid was over, and the "Over Night Success" of the DSMP was over for a lot of fans. To the point, if you were still a fan of the DSMP during the Prison Arc and beyond then you were in the "So 5 Minutes Ago"/Cringe Territory. I also know that serval people have stopped writing, and got out of the DSMP/MCYT Community when Technoblade passed away. I can't blame them since many fans started watching the DSMP b/c of Techno and why bother watching something if the reason you even started is no longer there. I fully respect everyone's decision on that. And I know now that so many people will be leaving b/c of this being the "Last Nail in the Coffin" for a lot of people. Again I fully respect your decision if you decide to never write c!Wilbur Soot or just straight leave the Fandom entirely.
But I'm not. I'm not leaving. c!Wilbur Soot belongs to us fans and yes, this is 100% selfish of me, but I'll be damned if I let someone take away something that I find so much joy in doing! I've been writing FanFicion for the last 30 years and have been posting for the last 20 years.
I've been in many different fandoms and yes, many of them have had pretty toxic gatekeeping fans. But for once with the DSMP, I actually felt well safe for my writing. I didn't have to worry about if I was writing the Character right or not.
So, with that said, Tommy Innit's Secret Clinic is still underway! I have a few more chapters already written but it's going to be a major story and for once, I'm fucking motivated to finish this! For once, I'm not four to five chapters in and can't seem to figure out what to write b/c I'm so stuck on what others kept telling me how to write certain characters. But with this, no one's doing that. I want to write to these Characters how I want to write them!
I am NOT supporting the Content Creator! This has always been about the Characters. As far as I'm concerned, William "Wilbur Soot" Gold can go step on a pile of Legos for all I care!
However, with Tommy Innit's Secret Clinic, it's going to be until Summer that I will be able to fully start to update again. Right now, I think I'm just going to concentrate on School since my class started a month ago. And I might be focusing on other Writing/Art Projects until then.
So, when Summer hits, expect to see updates for Tommy Innit's Secret Clinic! Until then, Guys, Gals, Demons, Ghouls and Multi-Fandom Fiends! I'll see you later! HAPPY CREATING!

Some accessibility ideas I’ve had:
A collapsible box in the body of the post for image descriptions. It is first open by default, and the user can change that in settings.
Spoilering like on Discord, so that something in the middle of the post could be spoilered without having to spoiler everything after with it — especially when you need to spoiler something several times.
Community label for eyestrain (saw that a community label for flashing was already suggested, yay!!! I have. So many variations of flashing and eyestrain warnings in my filter)
Oh heck yeah, this is what I'm talking about! I love the image-spoiler feature on Discord so much! It makes it possible for people without sensitivities to post content and for me it's still safe to visit certain channels! I would love this on Tumblr! It would also be a great multi-purpose tool. The box thing sounds very good! Idk how well this works with screenreaders though, but a settings option to collapse them by default would be a great solution!!! V creative idea! Community label - for simplicity i think flashing + eyestrain should be one label. Wether it is called both, one or the other or something else, I don't care, but it should definitely be used for anything that may be triggering to photosensitive folks!!! I also have quite a few variations for flashing lights + eyestrain blocked, and I think a community label would make it easier to streamline tagging/moderating User Experience. @staff @wip If tumblr became a fantastic accessible plattform (and would also fix the issue for screenreaders + text formatting), it would positively stick out amongst all other social media platforms!

I do feel somewhat insane with all my War Bots ramblings laid bare thus far and then also there's this other, much less organized but also older expansive game concept I have across thoughts and google docs that I've yet to share here... Well, that describes a couple projects actually, but that's besides the point.
The one I'll go into just a bit for now is Darkworld Showdown, a platform fighter in a world plagued in eternal night, with an original cast of characters that span all things "horrific", with all manner of monstrous, undead, unholy, and otherworldly fighters taking part in battles caught on camera by a top-secret government organization.
The idea came about after I accumulated a number of gimmicky or otherwise fun-sounding ideas for platform fighter characters, but felt they lacked a coherent theme to tie everything together. The initial idea was called "Worlds Showdown", an even more generic name that was alluding to how every character was from a different planet, explaining the wildly clashing aesthetics. This still felt like a pretty weak idea overall, aside from a few fun character concepts. The breakthrough came when I learned about Darkstalkers, which is, to paraphrase greatly, like Street Fighter but spooky themed and also after using five suitcases of illegal substances. Don't worry about that second part.
So the idea was simple: take the most spooky-adjacent characters from the existing bunch, modify some of the others, forget about the weakest of the rest, and then expand the cast from there to fill the niches of unfulfilled spooky and fighting archetypes.
Now, this initial stage of DWS was years ago now, and was heavily collaborative with a friend who I've had increasingly spotty communication with since then. They suggested several full characters and helped brainstorm ideas for others, so they're an undeniable part of the project. Due to not wanting to do too much without them, I've since focused more on other ideas, primarily of course being War Bots.
Now I'd go more into the cast and lore, but most of it is years old and very poorly organized across a single multi-purpose discord channel. I'd at least share some art, but again, unfortunately, most of it is old! very old! and bad! I got a couple with decent art at least, so as a little sampler I'll give them a brief showcase.
The first is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a personal favorite of mine: the demon luchador Diabla!

A prideful but ultimately kind-hearted demon, Diabla is a star wrestler in a supernatural fighting circuit. She's the dedicated grappler of the cast, lacking in mobility in range, but making up for it with devastating close-quarters damage and combos. She always fights for a crowd, with her unique Crowd Appeal mechanic hyping up the in-game audience when she uses flashy moves or lands a hit after taunting. The more fired up the crowd is, the more flaming her tail is, showing how powered-up some of her moves become. If she's in a bad spot, she can trade in her hype for a blazing inferno of glory with one of her special moves, depleting her flame entirely but letting loose a massive explosion that increases in size and power the more fired up she was beforehand!
An opposite in size, playstyle, and morality, the other face I have for now is Astrel, the cosmic jester!

Astrel was a normal puppet used in an astronomy show, but was infused with an unusual celestial power after the incident that left the world in eternal night. They now have aspirations of keeping the night sky visible forever, and ascending even further into the stars. The little pest fights from a distance, leveraging their accordion-like arms for long-reaching attacks. They also can deploy their Orb of the Cosmos, which will float in place until recalled, and will retain the strength and launch angle of whatever attack it was last hit by, be it Astrel's or its opponent's, serving as a tricky tool for either player to make use of. Astrel is very floaty and light, and lacks quick close-range attacks, making them very vulnerable when a foe closes in, but is thoroughly skilled at making that as tricky as possible to accomplish.
And... alright I don't have any better images for this one, but last up for now is the slime next door, Mugie!

...yeah that's it. Best I got for picture quality.
Once a girl named Maggie who died in a tragic accident, her memory was recreated using a synthetic organic compound made by her father, and so she was brought back to life as a being made entirely out of gelatinous green slime. Mugie is the beginner-friendly (and just plain friendly) all-rounder of the cast, with no crazy strengths or gimmicks, but no major flaws either. She has a well-rounded set of attacks utilizing her gelatinous nature, such as throwing a small bit of her goo as a bouncy projectile, or flinging herself using her own elasticity. Her playstyle is fairly adaptable, and her overall simplicity makes her easy for new players to use, but her individual moves have more advanced mechanics for experienced players to master.
Hopefully I can get a few more characters polished up and ready to show soon, because I'm pretty fond of this gang of weirdos. There's some great ones to look forward to: a fencing vampire, a shadowy boxer with a name you're never gonna see coming, a girl who's equal parts shoto and kaiju, a weird fish, and an oversized hunk of unholy roadkill.
I also hope nobody minds me indulging in this other project of mine for a bit. Don't worry, War Bots isn't getting shelved or anything. The recent inexplicable influx of unwanted hero shooters from actual companies is less demotivating than you'd think, but it's more just my interest in the already existing ones has hit a lull. On the contrary, I've been on a pretty decent fighting game kick lately, playing Ultimate and Third Strike a fair bit while also getting into some of the older King of Fighters games along with my sibling because of the SF6 announcements. And those are just the games I've been playing recently, let alone the more obvious aesthetic inspirations like Darkstalkers itself and Skullgirls. And also Rivals of Aether is cool but that's on my Steam account and my computer situation is! still a situation!
Anyways uh. fighting games are cool. this is mine. hopefully. I think the buff demon lady is neat.

On Gaza:
I rarely use this platform for social issues, but I cannot sit by without somehow contributing to the visibility of the atrocities being committed in Gaza at the moment. Israel has targeted the only civilian transit corridor out of Gaza into Egypt, effectively sealing Gaza and ensuring that the civilian populace has no where to go while they conduct their airstrikes. This is not a war, it is a systematic extermination. Palestinians in Gaza are without food, water, power, or any kind of infrastructure that allows them to escape, shelter in place, treat their wounded, or even reach the outside world as Israel continues to escalate their attacks into outright genocide. Please take some time to address that we cannot afford to be bystanders while civilians; the vast majority of them children aged 14 and under, are killed indiscriminately out of greed or ignorance. To stand with the Israeli government at a time where they are blatantly violating the Laws of War, Human Rights, and International Law is unequivocally wrong, and it is up to people who still have a voice to make it known that we will not support or tolerate a massacre. Israel has escalated this conflict to unprecedented levels, and the hard-line policymakers in Israel have strategically blacked out any communications coming out of Gaza, are actively targeting known journalists, and are relying heavily on propagandized media coverage in the US to shape the narrative that they are "defending themselves with a proportionate response". You don't "defend yourselves" against hospitals full of wounded children and unarmed civilians.
Indiscriminately bombing a population center, including hospitals, residential buildings, and schools regardless of humanitarian losses, is not a "proportionate response".
Make no mistake, this is a systematic extermination of a stateless people. This has all the makings of another genocide, and we cannot. CANNOT. Allow it to happen. For those of you who can contribute in any way, there are several long-established relief organizations that are in constant need of financial and material support in order to provide displaced Palestinians with necessary medical care and basic needs: Medecins Sans Fontieres - Doctors Without Borders, has been operating in Gaza since 1989, and have maintained a consistent presence there providing medical care for civilians wounded in Israeli bombings.
PCRF- Palestine Childrens Relief Fund. A continuous relief presence in Gaza for over 30 years. They provide direct support and supply through multiple channels, including ongoing care for displaced, wounded, and orphaned children.
UNICEF - United Nations Childrens Fund. One of several UN Direct Aid programs that are currently operating in Gaza providing multi-sectoral support for the affected Palestinians. There are several other relief organizations that are currently providing support to Gaza, but take care to research the organization prior to contributing any funding, keep receipts, and be sure to verify that the organizations are not Israeli-based as the Israeli government will not allow relief supplies to enter Gaza, nor are they allowing any ceasefire to be negotiated.
The US and the UK have also used their positions on the UN security council to block ceasefire resolutions, both nations are responsible for supplying military equipment and munitions to Israel, as well as weaponizing the media in support of Israeli attacks in the region. Consider reaching out to your State Representatives if you are a US citizen, Parliamentary Representatives in the UK, and/or contacting the UN directly, make it vocally known that action MUST be taken to stop the attacks on civilians.

The Creative Lounge v2.0
While we continue to prepare the community for a full launch, I'll post a little more about what's different in this version.
The Creative Lounge is a Discord community of creators and lovers of different genres, crafts, and talents that, together, foster a positive creative environment.
A good portion of this community is dedicated to content creators who work with different mediums. That's by design. We inspire one another and often collaborate. I hope The Lounge makes it easier to do both!
There's also room in here to play. I'm arranging the ability to stream art and video games in here, as well as host virtual tabletop games (these adventures are fantastic fodder for art, animation, stories, and audio works)!
Art and storytelling have been part of the human experience since our beginnings. They withstand disease, war, natural and unnatural catastrophes, and most impressively, time. Be proud of what you contribute.
There have been some changes to the community rules (beneath the cut). Please review them while you wait for The Creative Lounge to launch!
