Three weeks, four days, and six hours

a mission shadow takes on is only supposed to last for two weeks. it goes horribly wrong and leads to a lot of new/reopened injuries. he spends four days in a haze recovering, and then finally returns home to find a worried housemate waiting.

could not figure out the style i wanted for this even after spending so much time on the lines, so it really stopped being fun. figured something was better than nothing so i cut my losses and wrapped it up however i could manage

Genuine question: is there a reason why you hate nicknames? Or only the ppl closer to you that can?

(Genuine bc I’m the opposite, do not call me full name, only the shortened version, but for me its bc calling me full name triggers me a fight or flight instinct)

Only specific people can call me by nicknames irl. Because they happened naturally and bc we're friends.

My first nickname was Citty (pronounced "Kitty" bc I'm so original). I got it in middle school- my closest friends called me that bc we were a group of art nerds who made ocs together and would call each other by our ocs names.

Those friends still call me Citty to this day.

I've lived 22 years having people pronounce my (first) name wrong. In whatever way you can think, they said it wrong. I've had people try to chop my name in half to make it easier/as a nickname. It has always annoyed me.

People need to earn nicknames. It has to be natural. You can't just force it because you don't want to say my whole name (My first/given name is 10 letters long). It's annoying. It's frustrating. Call me by my name or call me nothing at all.

hi!! thank you for your input :D i definitely would want to write el's reaction - i only thought to separate the cheating from the rest for a few reasons

i write so slowly and i know i'd be able to get it out sooner if i just focus on the cheating part

i know that this fic would be 50k+ if it was a standalone

people might not be comfortable with the cheating itself but might want to see the resolution on its own?? so separate??

cheating portion is completely planned out in my head but the resolution is not <3

i don't think a cheating plotline is what i want to see on the show, mostly bc Time Constraints and also unnecessary fodder for byler haters, but one thing about me as a writer is i love to explore very complicated feelings and situations and cheating Is that. i think living in gray area is very fun and i think more people should join <3
