so much happened in this whole episode but i’m still on fig infiltrating ruben’s dream, making it look like the place where his friend was murdered, and then disguising herself as kipperlilly & repeatedly saying different variants of “somebody needs to take the fall for this, and it’s not going to be me. it’s going to be you.” while adaine as the elven oracle shows up next to her. can you imagine waking up from that, the idea of a horrible truth being pinned on you by your friend to save her own skin while the personification of fate and destiny stands there, almost as a promise that this is GOING to happen to you. we don’t even know if this kid is guilty. my god.
The difference between Season 1 and Season 3 of the Bad Batch
Season 1:
Omega: Crosshair, can I have a hug?
Crosshair: The audacity??? Of this Child??? Nothing would revolt me more than to show any kind of weakness to sate your neediness.
Season 3:
Omega: Crosshair, you're getting a hug.
Crosshair: The charity??? Of my Sister??? Nothing would give me more joy than to be hugged by the Literal Angel that you are, though I am a lowly worm.
Tommy saying he has to leave after kissing Buck is something I have to talk about…
Because instead of just saying “yeah gotta go!” and leaving Buck to flounder and worry and feel used, Tommy does the opposite
Tommy wants to stick around, wants to be there, and wants to be with Buck. And he says so by the way he adjusts Buck’s shirt, by maintaining eye contact, explaining it, and Buck isn’t left to spiral right after the kiss.
And after Buck’s little “okay” that still holds a sense of awe and maybe not being super present (which can’t blame him, I mean have you seen Lou), Tommy still assures Buck of his place by asking for a date.
It’s all these things that add up to Tommy making sure Buck is a priority and Tommy will keep that as a promise.
Buck deals with abandonment and not feeling right in the world, and Tommy is there to say “hey, in this world, in my world, you can feel safe and free to be you.”
i still don't like kipperlilly HOWEVER it would be VERY interesting if the twist is that she's been playing the long game against porter to get revenge for lucy's death
devil's nectar is used to lie to gods. porter wants to be a god.
gertie mentions in ep14 that the last order of nectar was twice as much as usual.
we know from ruben's dream that the rat grinders have been taking devil's honey for some reason
lucy was killed by multiple assailants but it's never confirmed it was the rat grinders—ruben's house has a perfect view of the lake, so the rat grinders could easily have witnessed lucy's murder
jace and porter seem to want the whole school at graduation for some reason, but kipperlily drafted an order to disband aguefort the moment she becomes president. undermining the plan?
kipperlilly was "very fond" of lucy
kipperlilly keeps provoking the bad kids despite jace saying not to—maybe intentionally trying to get the bad kids on their trail?
if nothing else, that's proof being rage-starred doesn't mean she's a mindless follower who agrees w everything porter/jace say
which means her rage could have easily turned on porter
I’m tired of hearing that newly-out trans identified males must be given patience, understanding, and unconditional support while they work through the awkward stages of “figuring out how to be a girl”. Because actual girls are not afforded this privilege. There is nothing a teen girl could do to avoid mockery. There is no grace afforded to a teenage girl, so why should it be afforded to men who want to mimic her experience? Why should a man be allowed to have an awkward “girlhood”, when girls aren’t ever allowed the same?
