I procrastinated drawing pride art for a whole month and look where it got me. I just spent a week destroying my sleep schedule to get this stupid thing done. Tbh I haven’t really slept at all. I’m so sleep deprived that I’ve been unintentionally using the phrase “plus ultra” in every sentence (i watch too much anime)

To Grim, Mori is more than just a slave. He sees no difference between them and any other mortal that crosses paths with him; being privy to such information, he can quite literally see that their souls do not differ at all. The very word "slave" sounds performative out of his mouth, only ever used to mock them or belittle them for his own entertainment — but that only reinforces that he doesn't really believe them to be just that, since he finds such humour in it.

To Mori, however, when he calls them his "most precious", they have to stop and stare at him, bewildered. They do not believe him, but they don't think he means to mock them this way. To them, being anything more than a disposable slave, especially to someone so powerful, is just incomprehensible. Why would anyone think of them as something precious? There is nothing special about them; they aren't even good at their job, they have been broken down and used up by a hundred others before him, and they were given nothing but vitriol and demeaning words their whole life.

Deep, deep inside, they feel a kind of pride that makes them feel ill, a tiny part of them believing, or rather, wanting so badly to believe he means it when he says such impossibly nice things about them. No one ever has before... It's, different, or something. The layers and layers of insignificance bred and beaten into them won't let that vibrant appreciation come to the surface.

Grim doesn't mind. They do well to avoid growing used to love, or — perish the thought, take it for granted. Love is something they are unfamiliar with. Love hurts. Love begins and ends by another. Love is dangerous.

And in reality, is it truly love, what Grim feels? Fondness, obsession, craving, pleasure?

hi hello thinking about child and adult lines but with current baby stella and my fully grown stella design because it’s been affecting my brain recently

Yes! Usually surrounded by fire and his promise to Death. He will have dreams about his family but he never remembers any of them.

Hm sleeping in a dark basement after the fire. He doesn't understand his "irrational" fear sleeping in a dark and damp basement causes him but it's like he can't go anywhere else otherwise some unknown consequence with happen to him. He's scared and confused and doesn't know why. He has no reason (at least one he remembers) as to why he should be scared but he can't stop panicking but leaving isn't a great option either.

Or meeting his father again but I might actually write a full small story on that >:)

He feels he needs to earn everything. He doesn't believe he deserves the friendship he has with Emmett bc of his history and job. He honestly doesn't think he deserves his tavern either but won't abandon it bc of his feud with Carasen.

He knows what will happen and he's terrified. He's died once before, he's seen the underworld and never wants to return
