🌊Water is the element of change.🌊 . I've been doing everything I can since I started studying and understanding what is going on with our planet, the pollution, massive deforestations, and else, that's why sharing information with others about the protection of the environment has become the project of my life! 🤟🏻🐬🐋🦀🦐🦈🦞🐊🐠 . Now, I encourage you! Use your voice on things that matter and what a way to start by the basics, recycle, eating less meat, avoiding the use of single-use plastic, this way, a better future may come to us someday, we still got some time left so, don't waste it. 🎣🤿♻️ . . : Ministerio de Producción peruano . #caballodemar #perú #pacificocean #ocean #nakaweproject #extinctionrebellion #saltlife #worthmorealive #beabetterhuman #educate #startaconversation https://www.instagram.com/p/B3lEZYmhFDb/?igshid=1ukedyo6v2uim

The boys and I were enjoying our morning on the beach when I started looking around and realized all the seaweed that washed up is FULL of debris. I went back to our room and got a plastic bag and started asking the boys to help me clean up our favorite beach. As I was picking up trash I got this overwhelming feeling of sadness bc we were picking up dry wall pieces, full bottles of ketchup and we even found several kid's flip flops..I couldn't help but think about all the places that are getting bombarded with #hurricaneirma #hurricaneharvey and #hurricanemaria . I imagine a lot of the debris we found came from people's homes... I want to start a challenge among everyone. Let's start a #CHUNKYMERMAIDBEACHCLEANUP. I would like everyone who lives by beaches to go ahead and just take ONE TRASH BAG and fill it up to the top. If even just ten people from every local beach picked up one bag I bet we would pick up at least 10 lbs of trash per bag! If you're thinking this is a small task just keep in mind that if we all picked up ONE SINGLE BAG of trash our ocean well be that much more free of that trash. LETS START THE CHALLENGE, USE HASHTAG #CHUNKYMERMAIDBEACHCLEANUP FOR A CHANCE TO BE FEATURED ON MY BLOG AS WELL! A message from @regisunday Overfishing is causing profound changes in our oceans, perhaps changing them forever. Over 90 per cent of large predatory fish, such as sharks, cod and tuna, have already been caught. Over-fishing sabotages the stability of marine environments, profoundly reducing the ocean's ability to produce seafood, resist diseases, filter pollutants and rebound from stresses such as climate change. Every species matters when it comes to the ocean's ability to repair itself. With billions of humans relying on seafood as a key protein, we must change the trajectory of crashing fish populations. Humans it’s time to get together and act before it’s too late. We have a responsibility to use all of our diverse skills and inspire others. We can make this happen. Never, ever, ever give up. @nakaweproject #GameOverFishing #Mako #ABreakForMakos #NakaweProject #OverFishing #Predators #Sharks #LetLive #BeABetterHuman https://www.instagram.com/p/ByDYi2MiXXV/?igshid=17kkso46s49zz

!!!!!Ask Corporations to stop selling threatened species and label shark meat!!!!!!!!!🦈🦈🦈🦈🦈
Nakaweproject started a petition to stop the sale of mislabeled meat like those of sharks and rays.
Some of the meat on the market comes from endangered species but since it's put under completely different name we are not even aware of this!!!
The research held by Nakawe also proved that some of the sold shark's meat contains high amounts of mercury that go beyond the legal norms! mercury is a highly toxic chemical that can cause several health hazards if ingested in higher doses! Mercury may have negative effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems, and on lungs, kidneys, skin and eyes.
Please go to the link to sign the petition and learn more information!
Let's save our oceans by saving the apex predators!!! 🦈🦈🦈

"Imagine a place where hundreds of marlins gather together during an annual sardine migration! #mexicansardinerun #stripedmarlin #shootthemwithacamera Where you can witness +15 marlin all feeding on a single sardine baitball. This Mexican sardine run happens during several weeks and usually all within a 10 mile radius. Its not uncommon to have multiple baitballs at the same time, sometimes only within several meters between each other. Fishing here would be like shooting a dog in a veterinary or a hen in a chicken farm and yet some sportfishermen are fishing over 300 marlin a day. DO YOU KNOW THE CONSEQUENCES OF CATCH-AND-RELEASE ANGLING ON THE PHYSIOLOGICAL STATUS, INJURY, AND IMMEDIATE MORTALITY?? #Repost @nakaweproject (@get_repost) ・・・ We need YOU. We need YOUR HELP to save mako sharks! . We need your support, now more than ever. We are fighting to help the global community recognize that mako sharks are on the brink of being gone forever. . We have been conducting research over the last two years to figure out which sharks are being sold under the common name ‘cazón’ in Mexican markets. Our DNA results confirm a majority of the meat comes from shortfin mako sharks - and that it contains more than THREE TIMES the amount of mercury that can be legally consumed in Mexico. . We are heading to CITES in May to help show the world that makos are in danger - and they NEED to be included in Appendix II NOW. . But remember - the fight doesn’t end at CITES. It can take over a year for makos to be protected and it will take massive global cooperation to implement these regulations. We will still continue to fight for makos after CITES - as we have been for years. Our goal is to bring down global consumption of mako sharks through education, ecotourism, and enforcement. . We ask that you head to our Teemill store to purchase some of our brand new BREAK FOR MAKOS merchandise! When you get it - make sure to tag us at @nakaweproject use the #ABreakForMakos #savemakosharks #makomercury so we can show the global community just how strongly we’re standing behind makos together! . Imagine how amazing switching to #hemp would be for our #ocean and our #beaches! Hemp is #biodegradable, #ecofriendly and a wonderful replacement for plastic. Traditionally, plastics have been derived from petrochemicals, which are toxic. Plants, are also a source of cellulose, that can be used to make #biodegradable and #organic plastic. As hemp happens to be one of the richest sources of cellulose, it is only natural that purists will advocate its use.Hemp plastic offers good thermal, UV and dimensional stability. It is resistant to heat; however, the most outstanding feature of a few varieties of hemp plastic is that they are flame resistant too. Finally, if Henry Ford could imagine creating a car with this material, we can perhaps believe that it indeed is “ten times stronger than steel”. SAVE OUR OCEANS BY SWITCHING FROM USING PLASTIC TO USING BIODEGRADABLE PRODUCTS AND REUSABLE PRODUCTS! #FCKPLASTIC #conversationocean #shark4kids #nakaweproject

Thank you Vince @maestro320 "Born Free" I dug up an old book from my chilhood. I remember my mom and dad buying me a lot of reading materials about the ocean, space exploration and the earths diverse wildlife. We even had a regular subscription of Reader's Digest pocketbooks, Time, Newsweek and National Geographic publications. And most of our pioneers in conservation would surely have heard about Elsa The Lioness long before Kevin Richardson @lionwhisperersa was even a toddler. Later, this book had a film adaptation, Born Free with the title track sang by Matt Monro. This same book most likely has inspired Dr. Jane Goodall @janegoodallinst , Dr. Sylvia Earle @mission_blue, Sir David Attenborough @david_attenborough , Australians Ron and Valerie Taylor and the late Jacques Yves Cousteau to excel in their chosen branches of science. It surely did for me. However, inspite of our great advancements in technology, I've witnessed man's empathy and compassion for our fellow earthlings deteriorate. And since this book's publication in April of 1960, millions of species of animals that were otherwise common at that time have gone extinct. And now that we have the tools to correct our mistakes, influencial entities and governments continue to turn a blind eye in favour of greed. I have been in this battle long enough. It is so clear that by killing our land and oceans, we are slowly killing ourselves. It is my fervent wish that something really significant will ensure the perpetuation of species. Something that would make the yellowing of these pages worth it. #BornFree #ElsaTheLioness #Ages #Conservation #Education #ReadingBestowesKnowledge #UncoverTheTruths #IgnoranceBreedsChaos #SaveOurPlanet #SaveOurOceans #ThereIsNoPlanetB #NakaweProject #Empathy #Compassion #GoVegan #ScienceFacts #WeWereMeantToBeVegan

#Repost @nakaweproject with @repostapp ・・・ Tens of millions of sharks are either caught intentionally, or are inadvertently caught by fishermen seeking other fish, such as tuna or swordfish. This is referred to as "bycatch" or "accidental catch." In most cases, it is not really accidental at all. It is the result of indiscriminate fishing gear that almost always catches fish that are of no interest to fishermen and, as a result, are frequently thrown back into the ocean, dead or dying. In other places their are targered for their fins and meat because other resources are gone. Sharks are good. In fact, life in the oceans and even on earth would not be nearly so productive if it weren’t for sharks. As the “apex predators” of the oceans, they have no natural predators. They eat at the top of the marine food chain, which means that they consume the old, sick or slower fish in a population, keeping the entire population healthier. #Spread #SharksAlive #GameOverFishing #WeDontEatShark #PlayItRight #NakaweProject photo by our #TeamMember @kokocousteau with @oneoceandiving #SaveSharks
