Who are your top 10 favorite anime boys?

Oh gosh. You're really gonna make me show my age now. Reminder, I love these boys equally, so this is in no particular order.

Feel free to ask me why they are my favorite, I love to talk about these boys. As you can see, I have a huge case of Second Male Lead syndrome. I hardly root for the first guy the girl falls for in anime, and almost always gets disappointed when my favorite doesn't win. I'm looking at you Obi, Ryoga, Koga, Naozumi, and Hikaru. My poor boys. 😭

Y’all. Rezaren is not a “problematic fave” - he IS the problem. He is handsome and well spoken and likable. In modern day terms -he comes from a nice family (that isn’t so nice), he seems just so...nice and smart. Then one day he just...mentions the coastal “elite”. Another day he lets slip that he understands legal protests but these rioters have to be dealt with. And so it escalates. He. Is. The. Problem. I’ve lived my life around these people. He is NOT comparable to Anders and even Solas, who are working toward liberations of people and not working to obtain things for himself. Rezaren wants to POSSESS and OWN people - he only ever saw Miriam and Neb as objects to possess - they were HIS, why can’t Miriam understand that? He isn’t looking to improve Tevinter - he is looking to increase his power and possession. He is not problematic - he IS the problem.

1: sexuality headcanon: he's kind of vaguely pan like all Dark Matter - specifically, all independent Dark Matter. only the independents and 02 have enough of a mind of their own to actually have orientations in the first place, and even then, relationships are about the furthest thing from any Dark Matter's first priority. in a similar vein, all Dark Matter are totally genderless and tend to just use the pronouns that get assigned to them by the few people they do interact with. Neb uses he/him but with absolutely no degree of stringency. he'd answer to neuter pronouns, and feminine pronouns too, but he'd give you weird looks about it.

2: otp: I wouldn't call it an OTP, but my Neb rather unintentionally ends up with Daroach because one day Daroach decided he was fond of Neb and that was that. possessor/possessee ships are just fun okay and this one's canon listen i have the documents

3: brotp: none in the canon because Neb has no actual character in the canon, but in my 'verse he's Mad Bros with Magolor, largely because Magolor was his first ever real friend and Magolor will always love him a new Dark Matter friend :D

4: notp: can't say I have one!

5: first headcanon that pops into my head: more of a fun fact than a headcanon, but Neb is tied second for gijinka of mine that has the most different forms designed, at four (base form, then one for each three elements).

7: one way in which I relate to this character: in my headcanon he hates being talked down to and infantilised which is kind of just... something most people find aggravating I imagine gfdhjlkfd

8: thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: his... everything... he's not the most respectable kirby character out there let alone final boss (poor sod) (i love him so)

9: cinnamon roll or problematic fave?: if he HAD any character to be problematic WITH he'd be a problematic fave all the way down in canon

[folds hands politely] conceptually. E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? Morally I can't answer that for old fandoms. It's all been deleted now anyway. I can finally rest in peace. For p5 i've made one crack fic but it's not like... Big or anything. i've made a few shitposts that have popped off ig? cunty little akira fig, oug oug? is that anything? A - Ships that you currently like a lot. Ahhhh the classic. I will always love pegoryu and shuharu. and, well, pegoryuharu. them in a post-game domestic setting is really big in the neb economy rn. listen i know im just smushing my faves together but SH. i can see ryuharu working in a romantic setting but ngl? fine ill admit it. i like it when it's just them both dating akira. they can share and hang out but not kiss about it. s'called being really goog friends lea me alone. rezaren, this matt mercer looking mf, was an excellent villain. because like. he’s sympathetic. he has good intentions but he’s HORRIBLE and SELFISH and the story doesn’t shy away from showing him as horrible and manipulative. like yes maybe he doesn’t know better and he does care for miriam and neb in his own twisted way. that doesn’t make it right. doesn’t make it okay. doesn’t make him not a slave owner. and this really comes to a head in the dream sequence where he’s completely incapable of understanding why miriam doesn’t want to return to him, and then completely disrespecting her wishes, her autonomy, when she refuses him. he just cant see her and neb as real people even tho he cares about them in a childish selfish way. road to hell is paved with good intentions etc etc etc. like he’s so fuckin bad but also still sympathetic until maybe 2/3 of the way through the show when he goes full villain. 

rezaren, had things played out slightly differently, could have been a dorian. dorian has some GOD AWFUL opinions in da:i and some deeply ingrained privileges and prejudices, esp re: slavery. he learns and grows and becomes better in the inquisition, and possibly leaving tevinter (even under such horrible circumstances) was the thing that saved him from becoming terrible because he didnt know any better. rezaren in many ways is a mirror of that, but slightly worse, slightly to the left, with fewer allies, never having his position of power challenged, etc etc etc. tldr i just think it’s neat :) it’s an arc i really enjoy and im just. obsessed with sort of well intentioned but also horrible people becoming better (or like. dying as full villains in the grave theyve dug for themselves and refuse to exit. either or yknow)

like blind privilege rather than outright malice is how 99% of the irl world’s evil happens and yet it is also where the most irl grace and atonement and forgiveness and betterment is possible. im fascinated by tevinter characters and tevinter in general. im never gonna shut up abt this.

as much as i hated the overabundance of quips (see below) roland is just. handsome. funny. charming. i saw a man so beautiful i started crying

tassia. her relationship with tevinter is complicated, much like dorian’s and i just. really love the whole ‘the place im from does horrible things and many would call it irredeemable and i understand that but also i think there’s a kernel worth saving there and i am going to work my whole life thanklessly trying to save it even if it wont try to save itself and even if that makes me the bad guy to both those opposed to and those loyal to my homeland’, i just think it’s neat and not at all a personal thing for me and religion :))))

‘no one ever saves us. so we save us’ maybe im sentimental and crying ok. whos to say. big believer in small kindnesses save the world.

some of the crew are caricatures but like. it’s a miniseries. i’ll forgive them. even if qwydion is comic relief and ofc lacklon (the dwarf) is the ‘suspicious untrusting one’

the tevinter templars were....effective??? and had influence??? how does tassia have the authority to order rezaren around when in canon they’re just glorified bodyguards and only do what the magisters tell them? why are they actually effective against demons? why the fuck is tassia all like ‘oh no blood magic is evil im gonna report u to the divine’ like????? ppl are saying miriam is ‘fenris but better’ but i resent that statement the show tried to do his 7 yr arc in 6 eps and it didnt work (understanably but STILL) and also im a fenris girlie first and foremost forever and ever so i will not stand for any besmirchment of his nearly perfect arc. he’s the PERFECT ‘character made to be a tool learns to be a person and love and be loved’ arc ok.

God… one of my fave things about NEB is the imagery. I haven’t actually read the original novels for it but one of the strengths of a comic adaption is being able to adapt metaphors and description into imagery like this, so it hits just as hard as the written description. That’s one of the things that makes NEB stands out from a lot of the other comics. So good hmng

🍎 [RED APPLE] Who does your OC value above all else? She can't choose between them, but she values her parents the most! She has a very close relationship with both of them, and she would be so, so devastated if something happened to either of them. She doesn't get sad often, but seeing her mother sad breaks her heart.

🍑 [PEACH] How do they show their kindness? How kind are they truly?

She is the Mom Friend™. She's always looking out for her friends and checking in on them, and she tries to build up their confidence if it's needed. She'll also call them out (in love) if they mess up or are acting out. If she sees someone bullying them, she'll stick up for them because she has 0 tolerance for cruelty. She's overall generally kind, and tries to help others out, sometimes being a bit of a meddler. She won't go out of her way to be mean to someone, even if she dislikes them, but she will become pretty cold and distant.

🧅 [ONION] What is surefire to make your OC cry? Who knows of this information?

If her parents, especially her mom, are harmed or if she sees either of them are going through something that she can't help them with. Seeing grievous physical harm come to her friends would also make her cry. All of her close, loved ones know of this.

Another thing that would make her cry is if her years of botany notes were destroyed :') she'd be inconsolable for a bit, even if she had copies made.

None of my ocs would commit the grave sin of putting pineapple on pizza 😤 (jk jk some of them have to have different tastes than me)

It's not her favorite, or an immediate go-to, but if someone ordered it, she'd eat it.

🍐 [PEAR] What is their current social standing? If they could change it, would they, and to what?

Kjersti's pretty popular at work, has a few guys who have a crush on her or find her attractive. She's only dated her ex-boyfriend, Jonas, so far and hasn't expressed any interest in any other men just yet. She's generally likeable outside of work, but there's people that are going to have beef with her for whatever reason or are jealous of her ease of learning languages or confidence. She doesn't really have any interest in changing her social standing because she's not overwhelmed, and she wouldn't care about it being elevated anymore.
