What happens when the Queen of Crystal Tokyo accidently meets Fighter again? What happened to Fighter in the world with Crystal Tokyo?

The short answer... a very emotional rollercoaster.

Chaos Theory will return in August sometime. I will resume writing in July and have an update later in the month with a posting schedule after I have see how much I am able to write. Chapters will be spaced out more since I need a bit of a break and have another project I'm going to attempt. Also very Chaos Theory related. Finger crossed I have better luck this time!

My outrage given voice: Stop saying Usagi can still be Queen of Earth when you don't have her marrying or loving Mamoru!

Like, seriously people!

The way I see it, the reason the Great Freeze or whatever other disaster(s) that resulted in Crystal Tokyo, because something else might cause it in different timelines, comes about is because when Usa and Mamo marry with love binding them, not obligation or fate telling them so, it causes a knock-on effect. The two willingly coming together for so powerful a reason causes some form of upset in the universe/cosmos, kind of like how hurricanes are formed, it's no one's intention or fault but it still happens, and when all is said and done it causes them to become King and Queen once everything has been 'fixed'; because it's their love for one another and what they know each-other cares for combined that helps them 'fix' whatever had been broken.

But! What I'm talking about is when people don't want to pair her with Mamoru and she still becomes Queen of Earth, either because 'that's her fate' or because she still marries Mamoru but loves someone else. I am of the opinion that if Usa and/or Mamo don't love one another when they get married, or simply not get married at all because they want to be with someone else, (because I have no doubts whatsoever that Setsuna would let either be unhappy if they didn't have to, especially when she can just as easily tell them that it's their true and pure love for one another that brings it about, if not in so many words) then whatever caused CT is just not going to happen. Like, at all.

And regarding those few who imply she'll still be Queen of Earth early in fic despite not marrying Mamoru at all, with the caveat that she's marrying another Senshi like StarFighter or Royal like Kakyuu to 'save Earth from its inevitable destruction', well I find that annoying. Why? Because she's the Lunarian Princess becoming Queen of Earth without having married the Terran Prince, (having instead married/fallen for a foreign entity/being to the planet) who actually has proper claim to the Planetary Throne as said by Helios to become King. Like, unless the guy's dead and he's given instructions to Helios that he is bequeathing his Throne to Usagi/Serenity and/or her Line until his reincarnation's rebirth, or the planet itself providing its own Heir, to which can be a kinda Sword in the Stone scenario by using the Golden Crystal, there's no way she'd take over as Queen without being called a Usurper or Pretender to the Throne by the people, especially when she doesn't have to. Simply say that SM did her part to save the planet for the last time, so don't waste your second chance. The only other example I'd accept, which one would think implausible since there is Helios unless he has Rules to follow not unlike Pluto with the Gate of Time, is when they don't even know about Mamo being the reincarnated Prince because that specific reveal hadn't happened for whatever reason, like what happens in "Even Miracles take a little time" by Queen Risa over on FFN. Or like what happens in "After all this time" by SunRedDreamer over on Ao3, but that's only because - as I said earlier - Mamoru is dead when Crystal Tokyo starts forming and since she's the only one of her group alive at the time...

"But what about ChibiUsa!" I hear you cry. 'What about her?' I'd reply. I'm not saying she's not important, as much as I've always hated her in general, some of the things the Senshi had been through only happened because of her presence, but I'm also not saying she'll be killed off or become non-existent. She started to disappear in the 90's anime when the possibility that Mamoru, her Papa's past self, would be forever under Nehelania's spell and Usagi, her Mama's past self, killed off was a thing, right? But! Hear me out. What if she was disappearing not because she wasn't going to be born but because she was now in a past she couldn't be in as an impossibility? It hurt her so much, not because she was becoming unborn but because Time itself was trying to forcefully put her where she's a possibility and she was fighting to stay right where she was, a past that wouldn't result in her conception or birth. And she returned because she'd been fighting to stay when she 'disappeared' that Time had no choice but to put her back when she became a possibility again.

Again, if Usa and Mamo don't marry out of love, but out of obligation or 'for ChibiUsa', then whatever disaster that resulted in CT's formation isn't going to happen. As such, she cannot, should not, be called Queen of Earth. Like, ever.

My Usagi x Mamoru Fanfic Recommendations

This post came from @maythevoidnotscreamback who asked me to take the time to mention some of the Usagi/Mamoru centered fanfics I have enjoyed over the years and give my recommendations.

First I’d like to give an honorable mention:  I have recently finished the entire Lunar Chronicles series by the fantastic Marissa Meyer and find her style to be captivating. For those unaware, she got her start as a fanfic author under the name Alicia Blade. I plan on dedicating my time in 2025 to getting through her stories. 

Next up: I want to make another mention for unfinished fics. I feel bad getting people addicted to stories which don't have an ending but I can’t help but want to mention them because they are so good. 

For the good of a Kingdom by Silent_Figure: I have skimmed this one for the most part but it has a lot of potential. It features a rift between Endymion and Serenity and it seems like the author is trying to get them back together. Until I see it though I’m hesitant. 

After All This Time by SunRedDreamer: The newest story on this list and I am hoping the author will be able to finish it. Mamoru awakens after Galaxia took his star seed only to find Crystal Tokyo has come and Usagi has become Queen by herself. It’s highly addictive and I can’t get enough of it. 

Sailor Moon X by Starling_Sinclair: One of the best re-writings of the original season. Usagi is an adult when Luna awakens her to being Sailor Moon.

Mine by PeachBunnyBaby: My first exposure to the Alpha/Omega/Beta style of writing and the pining between Mamoru and Usagi is palpable.  

At World’s End by Shnuggletea: After being defeated by a monster, Usagi wakes up to find the Dark Kingdom has taken over the world. From there she had to reunite with all her friends and connect with Mamoru at the same time. 

Now for the main list. I’m going to try and limit these to one story per author. There are a lot of  

Interlude by Sexylyon: The oldest story on the list and shows just how long I’ve been in this fandom. In a period where everything was tentacle stories and poorly written sex scenes, this small novella tugs at the heartstrings. 

Desperate and Divine by Antigone: Mamoru and Usagi’s time apart goes much longer than predicted. Unfortunately, Usagi feels like she’s wronged Mamoru in a way that is unforgivable. It’s an element  of their relationship I enjoyed someone tackling. 

It’s always been you by Beej88: Ever have a fic come to you at exactly the right time? I was just thinking about a story where Usagi’s family adopts Mamoru after his parent’s car accident. From there, its childhood friends grappling with the feelings of love they have for one another. 

R is for Reverse by Daikon1: Mamoru has to be the one to fight monsters during the Makai Tree saga. A look at the lengths Mamoru is willing to go through to make Usagi happy. 

To have and to hold by Lin_Lamont: Usagi and Mamoru are getting married. Not a lot of drama but a lot of great smut and loving between the pair.  

Poisoned Mind by Shnuggletea: A dark Endymion story where his need for Usagi remains despite the brainwashing. It features a lot of great action and even more intimate moments. 

How to love a princess by WildRIverInTheSky: Another Season 1 retelling but allows the Senshi to reconnect with their Shitennou lovers. At the same time Mamoru and Usagi are deeply in love. 

Shattered Pieces by Max333: Mamoru and Usagi are divorced but circumstances are bringing them back together. Not Rei friendly but the longing Usagi and Mamoru have for each other is palpable. 

The heatwave by Rei0ki: A great non-power story. A kiss leads to something more and the sexual tension between Usagi and Mamoru is high. I checked the websites regularly for updates. It was that kind of a story. 

Infidelity by Spinneroftales: This one has a special place in my heart. It’s a look at Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion’s married life. It (along with my own headcanon of those two enjoying a healthy sex life for their 1000 years of marriage) helped to inspire me to write my royal affairs series. It’s a great story and I highly recommend it.

The Sailor Moon characters that you assigned to each of the Losers for their Halloween group costume is literally flawless! And I think about it here and there since the day it was posted! Literally, I was like, 'This is amazing! But what if… no that-that works very well… What about… fuck- that's super really clever. Dang, Dude, this is amazingly and thoughtfully crafted! Holy cow!' (Bill as Venus is awe-inspiring!)

It's funny you say this though, because originally that halloween post was supposed to be one of those like... social media au whatever type posts where its a characters feed as they're posting a picture, where one of them posted the old polaroid picture and I was going to draw another one with it that *was* them dressed as NQS and Endymion with toddler Abbie as Chibimoon to go with it, with them posting it as like a "then and now" type post, but I ran out of time to draw it. I didn't want it to go to waste though, so I still uploaded the polaroid of the younger losers anyways.

Now I am thinking about teen/young adult reddie and their child from the future though. lmao

I guess people have gotten fed up with the mods or something? I've posted on that subreddit in the past, so I know the mods can be rude (to say the least).

Most of the posts pertaining to this situation seem to have been removed.

Wow, okay, I had NO idea what was going on and had to do some digging. The information is very sparse but I think I was able to piece together what happened:

A few days ago, a popular artist posted a 3D artwork of Neo-Queen Serenity to r/sailormoon. The artwork was removed because it "reeks of AI." The artist very politely messaged the mods and asked them what happened, offering to send evidence that proves her authenticity. The mods muted- and later outright banned- her. One of the mods also blocked her on Bluesky when she tagged them asking what happened.

People later started sending hate to the two mods (RockyCoon and lemonaid83), which the artist denounced. It got to the point where RockyCoon decided to shut down the subreddit and step down as mod. As of right now, the r/sailormoon subreddit is shut down and will remain that way until a new mod can take over.

Okay, so time to give my opinion on this whole thing.

Right off the bat, let me say that harassment is wrong; RockyCoon and lemonaid83 should not be sent death threats over a fucking fandom subreddit.

THAT BEING SAID- I'm glad people are acknowledging what a shitty place r/sailormoon is and how awful its mods are. It sucks that the mods were harassed into it, but I'm glad they're stepping down because they really do live up to the powertripping Reddit mod stereotype. You can see people in this thread (from a smaller Sailor Moon subreddit) talking about their negative experiences with the mods.

The mods' policies and strict adherence to an arbitrary set of rules really stifles the community. The biggest example of this is the whole "no self-promotion" rule. Artists get hit with the banhammer for daring to link to their socials where people can see more of their work or commission them (because fuck artists for trying to make a living I guess). Meanwhile apparently it's fine for people to post uncredited artwork.

Okay, I gotta rant about this because it still pisses me off so much. Just a few months ago an artist posted pictures of Sailor Moon props he'd made; he makes props and other replicas for a living and they're just gorgeous. Tons of people (myself included) asked him where we can buy his work or commission him. He had to DM us all individually due to fears of being banned for self-promotion. But then the mods caught on and deleted the post anyway.

The artist and I were DMing at the time and he told me how disheartening it was to get a lot of traction for his business only for the mods to derail it because of stupid, arbitrary rules. He wasn't really a Sailor Moon fan himself (he only made the props because his wife, a Moonie, encouraged him to) and I hate how this incident must have tainted his view of the fandom.

So yeah, ANYWAY, I hope this fiasco results in r/sailormoon getting better mods and not sucking anymore. Again, I don't condone harassment, but I can't say I feel too bad for the head mod. They've been super shitty for years and actively made the Sailor Moon fandom a worse place to be in.

Story Idea: Sailor Moon Apocalypse AU

Think about it!

The world has gone to shit for whatever reason, the Senshi and Mamo have somehow lost access to their powers - some strange form of radiation that affects Star Seeds/Sailor Crystals (just as an example that can also affect Mamo since he's technically as TerranBorn as the rest of the planet that aren't also reborn other-planetary souls from the SilMil) and so they must all survive like regular people, Ami's palmtop goes on the fritz because her magic isn't there/too out-of-wack to power it just as an example, until their bodies have acclimated enough to said radiation.

But!

During said process, they lose access to their civilian identities as their latent off-world DNA activates, for both the Inners and Outers, when they do regain the ability to transform in that they can't detransform afterward; like, they can take their fuku off and wear other clothes and style their hair differently if they want but they're still Senshi who no one seems able to remember, no matter their relation to said Senshi if they have one, that they once existed as normal people with lives outside their transformations. (my HC reason Chibi never knew who the Inners already were in the 90s anime)

Usa, however, loses her identity as SM because her powers as Princess-cum-Queen manifest in its entirety, turning her hair silver in the process, because it happened on Earth instead of her homeworld of the Moon; not that she knew that would happen. And poor Mamo's powers as Prince-cum-King go haywire because the radiation, having permeated his homeworld, his Seat of Power, messed with his Psychometry to the point of being unable to turn it off, as seen by his hair turning purple/lilac, and thus he must always be as fully covered as possible unless within a certain radius of his wife or within the protective walls of the Crystal Palace (my HC reason it's so frickin' huge) his wife made with just such a thing in mind because she'd never be comfortable or happy with the idea that people, whether foreign or native to their planet, would think her husband couldn't think for himself or that he would be considered 'clingy' or 'distrustful' or 'overbearing' of his wife because it looks to outsiders looking in as though he never leaves her alone.

Hell, Usa and Mamo's Royal Ascension (completely unknowing it would happen and thus unprepared for it and the consequences) could be the reason for the Great Freeze! And the result is that while the world slept for a thousand years to heal what damage it could it felt more like it happened in the blink of an eye to all other sentient lifeforms; namely Usa, the Senshi, Mamo and, if one wants to include them, the reborn Shitennou and other planetary inhabitants like the Kinmokuns and Ail and En to name a few.

Anyway! If there's anyone with recs to something like this - the apocalypse AU, not the other shit I said - I would be grateful to be directed on where to find it. I've already read ShnuggleTea's "At World's End" over on Patreon, Black Beyond's "Changed Destiny" over on FFN and am aware of lady-nyx-de-muertos's RoleSwap AU here on tumblr; just so's ya know to not rec those. My brain went to work while I was trying to sleep last night

So I am still of the belief that Usagi from main time line and Neo Queen Serenity are not the same. And I have more thoughts to support that now. Here is my original post on this if you're interested

So my thoughts this time around basically center around Sailor Pluto.

In Chibiusa's 30th Century, Pluto had never once left her post at the Door of Time. Acknowledging the fact that Pluto's role allows for some timey-wimey shenanigans and explanations, she still DIED for leaving the gate and commitimg a taboo. But the act of transforming into Eternal Sailor Moon requires Pluto's presence. Hell, Super Sailor Moon requires it. And both forms were name dropped by characters from the 30th Century: Diana and Chibiusa. Neo Queen Serenity *somehow* unlocked these powers without the Outer Senshi. Unless she did meet them and Naoko just chose to omit them from stars 😭 So ya know that is a whole can of worms. I can't really say much more on it.

But going back on track, the Sailor Pluto that Small Lady befriended, was isolated, standing at that door for eons. So the only way I can see this still happening is if there is a Setsuna Meioh living in Crystal Tokyo (with the other outer senshi) who is separate from Sailor Pluto who never left her post lest she die for it.

There is almost no way that Usagi's Crystal Tokyo will be the same as Chibiusa's.

To get Chibiusa's timeline, you'd have to rewrite the events of the series. Which scraps Black Moon completely, changes Infinity drastically because Chibiusa ain't there. They also would not refer to "The future we know is coming" cuz they would not have seen it. Dream might actually work out the same because apart from Helios' romance with Chibiusa she's actually very removed from the plot most of the time. Uhhh Hotaru and Setsuna definitely are not there but maybe an argument can be made for Haruka and Michiru?

I mean I dunno for all we know in NQS timeline The outers didn't die with the Silver Millenium and still just exist on their planets. The whole "we were never supposed to meet them" kinda implies it could happen that way?

I really don't think Galaxia would fight Usagi though. If anything NQS and Pluto flat out deny those events happening in Stars. They clearly don't know anything about it.

I dunno. I'm just positive that Usagi will become Sailor Cosmos and Chibiusa's mom will not. That's all I'm sure of.
