We have a question

We noticed your post about AGAB being intersex. We don't understand that and hope for clarification. AGAB is assigned gender at birth, neoAGABs/neoassignments are reclaimations of one's own AGAB and experience that was originally created with genderqueer (both intersex and perisex) in mind. So, how is AGAB and neoAGAB intersex-exclusive? Every source we've seen, including the original definition, states it is inclusive to both intersex and perisex individuals.

This is not intended to be hostile, I'm just confused on how the definition we've seen here works and why it differs from the original and "official" definition?

HIII!! So we actually learned and listened blah blah blah- and we realized! we were wrong!

AGAB **is** inclusive of both intersex and perisex people, and I was wrong about it being exclusive. I accidentally took a bit of misinformation from TERFs and unfortunately spread it myself.

It was my impression that "OGAB" (observed gender/sex at birth) is the correct term for perisex people, which just isn't true. It is a trans-excluding and intersex-excluding idea that gender can be immediately observed at birth, and I did not understand that at the time.

I really do apologize to anyone that may have been hurt or confused by my stating this. AGAB is an inclusive term, and AGAB/neo-AGAB are not exclusive. (CAGAB still is intersex-only, though.)

AGAB is your assigned gender at birth. This happens to pretty much every baby that's born, intersex or perisex. And as such, they can absolutely use a term to "reclaim" this event in their life. AGAB is not a label, it's an event, but that doesn't mean that you can't use a label to reclaim it.

I do apologize again for spreading misinformation, that wasn't my intention at all and I am always trying to listen to my peers, learn from the experiences I have, and do better than I did the day before.

Neoassignments (also known as neoAGABs) are a type of AGAB non-conforming label used by those who reject their initial AGAB and wish to assign themself something else. NeoAGAB labels may include the refusal to to disclose what one was assigned at birth, the idea that one's AGAB is irrelevant, or that one's current gender (for example: non-binary) is the one they have always been since birth.

NeoAGABs are not the same as Self-Assigned Genders At Birth, and do not necessarily involve assigning oneself a 'new' AGAB label.

A XenoAGAB, or xenoassignment, is a subset of neoassignment that is connected to themes of animals, nouns, objects, or aesthetics. NeoAGABs and xenoAGABs are related, but not the same, much like neogenders and xenogenders.

I see. This is not good. It makes sense that someone experiencing dysphoria may prefer to see themselves as cisgender and that is healthy. However, your agab is still important for many medical procedures and medications. It's also important as agab is very important in certain types of discussions and destroying that language may make it more difficult for trans people to express their feelings and experiences as well as to explain transness and cisness to uneducated people.

You can also extend the acronym, if you'd prefer it to not be the same as assigned gender at birth. @radiomogai, as I believe at some point you mentioned wanting more neoagabs? Could be wrong, so if I am.. sorry? Stripes are my associations with gaming. If I had to guess, the colors are probably from the Xbox 360 and the Wii.
