Reader who's the s/o of ratio but is meek and soft-spoken, basically the complete opposite of him. They face judgment and scorn because most people think they're not good enough for a genius like him. Every time they're treated poorly, ratio ofc defends them and every time, ratio receives a soft thank you in return, their gratitude expressed through physical affection that is reserved for him and only him. Please and thank you ^^
“The Genius and the Gentle”
Summary: In a universe where intellect is everything, you're the quiet, soft-spoken partner of the brilliant and confident Dr. Ratio. While others judge your worth beside his, Ratio never hesitates to defend you. Though your voice is quiet, your love speaks volumes—through tender thanks and affection reserved for him alone.
Tags: Ratio x Reader, Protective Ratio, Soft-spoken Reader, Established Relationship, Hurt/Comfort, Verbal Defensiveness, Affectionate Gestures, Public Judgment, Quiet Strength, Ratio being a smug, romantic nerd, Reader is baby (affectionate not literally).
Warnings: Mild emotional distress (public judgment), Strong language (Ratio being Ratio), Fluff with slight angst overtones.

You were quiet by nature. Words tended to catch on your tongue, slipping out softly and only when necessary. You preferred the hush of libraries to the bustle of lecture halls, the gentle murmur of rain over the sharp strike of debate. It was no surprise people found it hard to believe you were with him.
Dr. Veritas Ratio. A storm of intellect, wit, and unshakable confidence. The universe’s most renowned scholar, with piercing eyes that saw through facades and a mind sharper than obsidian.
And yet… his gaze softened for you.
You stood a little behind him at a symposium, fingers fiddling with the hem of your sleeve. You could hear the murmurs around you—the thinly veiled condescension.
"Why would someone like Dr. Ratio choose them?"
"They look like they belong in a library corner, not beside the brightest mind of our era."
You shrunk inwards.
Ratio was mid-conversation with a fellow guild member when he heard it. He didn’t glance your way—he didn’t have to. He had already heard enough.
He turned, cutting across the conversation with surgical precision.
"You should silence your tongue before it reveals the full extent of your ignorance," he said, voice cold and lethal.
The group fell quiet, eyes darting between him and you. You met his gaze hesitantly. That sharp intensity was for others. Never for you.
Ratio closed the distance between you and brushed his knuckles lightly against yours—subtle, hidden from others, but grounding.
"You judge a soul by the volume of their voice. I judge by the depth of their thoughts," he declared, loud enough for everyone to hear. “And they,” he added, his tone warmer now, “have more depth in a single quiet glance than most of you could ever muster in a lifetime of speeches.”
Your heart thudded.
Later, away from the crowd, tucked into a quiet alcove beneath the stars, you whispered, “Thank you.”
It was the same each time—simple words, spoken like a secret. But your hands would slip around his waist, or your fingers would gently trace the edge of his jaw, reverent and intimate.
Only he ever saw you like this—affectionate, bold in softness.
Ratio let out a slow exhale, cupping your face in his hands as if cradling something precious and rare. “You don’t have to thank me for defending what is already mine,” he murmured.
You leaned into his touch, pressing a gentle kiss to his palm. “Still… thank you. For seeing me.”
His gaze burned, not with fury this time, but with fierce devotion.
“I always will.”
And no matter how many stars sang his name, Dr. Ratio remained a man who would burn down galaxies for your quiet heart—and you, you would always be his soft-spoken anchor in the noise of the universe.

A thought occurs, dear fellow Polychampions shippers...
Do you ever think about the implications of Kouign-Amann's social class when contrasted with that of Prune Juice and Capsaicin?
I'm not sure of Capsaicin being particularly concerned about class structures, but I'm sure he's aware of the general idea of power dynamics, given his constant need to keep himself in check. Great power begets both respect and fear.
Now Prune Juice, on the other hand, I'm sure is rather acutely aware of social status and everything that entails. Being disabled and still having to work to get by does that to a person.
There's also something I shouldn't be privy to that I do in fact know about Prune Juice's character but I won't be explicit about it here. Just a little wink for those who know...
...Anyway how do you think the latter two would feel about navigating the Crème Republic, given the...
...Class disparity...
...That allows for the nameless...
...To die in obscurity...?
Unceremoniously...

A list of my favourite legal latin expressions + what they mean
(aka latin is cool in specific legal contexts and we should keep on using it because it commucates what we mean more efficiently that if we had to find a way to say it in modern languages, BUT ALSO latin should not be a barrier to understanding legal language, the law is SHOULD be understandable and non elitist)
Erga Omnes / Inter partes : " we are making this EVERYONE'S BUSINESS" vs "this is a you-problem, so you get a you-solution"
Ex tunc / Ex nunc : "let's all pretend this has always been the rule" vs "cant do shit about the past, this is only for the future"
Nulla poena sine legem / nulla poena sine culpa: "no punishment without a rule being broken" / "no punishment if there wasn't a fuckup of some kind on your part"
Pater is est.../mater siempre... : "let's ... assume the daddy is the wife's husband, for now" vs "we all SAW where/who that baby CAME FROM"
de lega lata / de lege ferranda : "I'm saying that's what the law IS, tough luck" vs "I'm saying that's what the law SHOULD BE though"
Obiter Dictum : Court decided it had an opinion, and it wasn't going to be stopped by the fact that this opinion had nothing to do with the case
Fraus omnia corrumpit: Fraud. Corrupts. All.
Ex officio: No one asked, but i'm gonna do it anyway
Nemo auditur...: No you can't benefit from your own fuckup
Clausula Rebus: we agreed during specific circumstances... unfortunately, circumstances have changed.
Usucapio: I've been calling dibs on this for so long, at this point it's legally mine.
Ad nutum: because I WANT to, no I don't need to explain or justify that.
Sui generis: it's... it's its own thing.
Intuitu personae: this is based on THAT person - if it's not THAT person, all bets are off
Pacta Sund Servanda : you fucking SIGNED THE THING so now yes you gotta DO THE THING

Every inch of Izuku Midoriya loves every inch of Bakugou Katsuki.
He sees passion in his rage, ambition where others see arrogance, and the overpowering desire to fight the world and make it do the right thing.
He loves every flaw, too. If something so deeply imperfect can be so amazing, then, there’s hope for less special things, too.
Sometimes, thought?
“You shitty ass loser, I TOLD you to stand back and let me handle it for you, but NOOO, stupid fucking Deku just HAS to fight a villain on a broken leg, doesn’t he,—“
As if I haven’t been through worse,
He really wants to clap back with that;
He also wants to live past 20.
“Kacchan!”
Izuku whips around, still supported by a strong arm around his waist, bringing his hands together imploringly, “Can you please. Be soft with me? For 3 seconds, that’s ALL I ask.”
It’s not that he doesn’t want to hear Kacchan nag him, — it’s his favorite activity, besides, maybe, being a hero, — but he’d just. Like the princess treatment.
A little.
Katsuki pauses. Heart red eyes soften significantly, the faux anger and annoyance glazing over into warmth,
“I love you, baby.”
Izuku’s lungs stop, for a beat, “Oh, Kacchan—“
“Three seconds over. Now listen here you little BITCH—,”
Izuku would scoff. If his heart wasn’t turning into liquid love, pulling the blonde down for giggly kisses, that is.

I seriously cannot stop thinking about Ford, who has such a complicated, messy relationship with his hands, expressing affection through Ozh'esta (Vulcan hand-kissing).
Imagine a younger Ford, a total Trekkie, watching the episode with Spock's parents, learning that Vulcans interpret the simple act of touching the index and middle fingers together as a dignified, intimate way of showing your love, quietly wondering how it would work with his extra digit.
Or an older, fresh out of the portal, Ford, touch-starved but still wary of physical contact, working up the courage to press his and his partner's fingertips together, hoping they understand the magnitude of the action.
Just Ford, at any age, learning to embrace both his hands and the wonders of casual intimacy he's been denied for so long.
