You shrunk inwards.

Ratio was mid-conversation with a fellow guild member when he heard it. He didn’t glance your way—he didn’t have to. He had already heard enough.

He turned, cutting across the conversation with surgical precision.

"You should silence your tongue before it reveals the full extent of your ignorance," he said, voice cold and lethal.

The group fell quiet, eyes darting between him and you. You met his gaze hesitantly. That sharp intensity was for others. Never for you.

Ratio closed the distance between you and brushed his knuckles lightly against yours—subtle, hidden from others, but grounding.

"You judge a soul by the volume of their voice. I judge by the depth of their thoughts," he declared, loud enough for everyone to hear. “And they,” he added, his tone warmer now, “have more depth in a single quiet glance than most of you could ever muster in a lifetime of speeches.”

Your heart thudded.

Later, away from the crowd, tucked into a quiet alcove beneath the stars, you whispered, “Thank you.”

It was the same each time—simple words, spoken like a secret. But your hands would slip around his waist, or your fingers would gently trace the edge of his jaw, reverent and intimate.

Only he ever saw you like this—affectionate, bold in softness.

Ratio let out a slow exhale, cupping your face in his hands as if cradling something precious and rare. “You don’t have to thank me for defending what is already mine,” he murmured.

You leaned into his touch, pressing a gentle kiss to his palm. “Still… thank you. For seeing me.”

His gaze burned, not with fury this time, but with fierce devotion.

“I always will.”

Do you guys ever think about how canonically the vessels that angels occupy aren’t supposed to age (s12e10 when Cas is impressed his buddies kept their same vessels for well over a century. Also apparently Cas tells Jimmy when he first was requesting permission to inhabit his body, that Jimmy would not age while he was doing so.)

…but Castiel definitely ages. Obviously I get that this is simply because Misha himself is aging, but *my* in-universe headcanon is that he’s choosing it, (whether consciously or unconsciously) because he wants to grow old with Dean.

remus created a tiktok account to talk about his obsession with greek mythological tales, after much insistence from his friends. he always thought he would feel silly or weird filming the videos, but he soon discovered that he actually really enjoys it and even feels good in front of the camera. somehow, miraculously, his account blew up very quickly, and he soon accumulated thousands of followers, likes, and comments.

regulus proudly says he’s chronically online and very good at his job of recruiting new internet influencers, so as soon as the account of the hot guy who runs moonytalks shows up on his for you page, he knows it’s going to go viral. over the next few days, he becomes obsessed with the account — refreshing the page religiously to be one of the first to see new videos and always leaving a flirty comment related to the video’s topic.

it takes remus a while to realize that 99% of the comments on his videos have a double meaning — flirting about the size of his hands, the shape of his nose, or his greek pronunciation. but as soon as he receives a private message from an account named leostar offering to help him improve his video content, he feels like he has to say yes.

I'm not talking stray cats and violent dogs, I'm talking about worms and spiders and cockroaches and centipedes and slugs, he gently cradles them in his hand whenever someone starts screaming in horror and sits there watching it with awe and wonder in his eyes at how they manage to survive in a world that conspired to hate them. And then comes Regulus who never pulls away in horror or looks at him like a freak when he spends too much time watching them. He sits there by his side and holds his hand whenever Remus gets emotional about the injustice of a world that was made to crush them under its weight. He gifts him book after book about the different types of insects, he starts blurting the full scientific name of every one they see on their walks in the morning because he reads every one of those before hand and he loves to see the small smile on Remus' face as he repeats the Latin name in quiet wonder.

Like everything it stars like a joke. A dumb romance novel of a vampire in a relationship with a colleague student and with all the tropes of a vampire novel but managed to be a healthy and beautiful relationship.

It star when he was like 12 (because all the nerds writers star write at 12 in wattpad) then he suffers of the wattpad/ao3 curse (and dies) and when everyone is losing hopes he actually update his story.

Tim and Damian are fans of the book (they don't know is Jason book) because Tim follow the book since his first chapter, and later, he introduced the book to Damian as a joke but ended up been something that both enjoyed.
