you must've yawned three hundred times before you finally gave into sleeping. right as you dozed off, your phone rang at full volume and you swear you've never been more awake in your entire life.

'hi, handsome.'

'hiiii, my beautiful, lovely, wicked pretty girlfriend.' you pull your phone back and look down at the contact, yes, it's peter. when he said he had plans to hang out with his friends you didn't expect a drunk dial.

'hi, peter. are you having fun?' you press a finger in your free ear, it's loud and you're trying to focus on his voice. 'so much fun. i really miss you though.'

'i miss you too, honey. do you want me to come pick you up? i'll bring you back to may's.' you imagine he's shaking his head on the other side of the phone, but you can't hear it and he misses that part.

'but can i come over after?' you're about to tell him of course, until he adds a second part. 'unless you're mad at me for what i did.'

peter doesn't drink. you've never seen him drunk. and the first time he lets loose he does something bad? your head's spinning, you're already thinking of a million devistations.

'what did you do?' you tuck your thumbnail between your teeth and nibble. 'total transparency here, sweetheart. a girl bought me a drink and i took it.'

you wait and nibble harsher. you hear him swear on the other line, you're expecting the 'and...' to come. instead, 'i knew you'd be upset. i promise i didn't flirt with her, i even said i had a girlfriend but she did it anyway.'

that's it? he called to tell you another girl bought him a drink at a bar?

'is that all?' you imagine him nodding this time. 'uh huh. she asked what i was drinking, and i told her i don't drink and she insisted she buy me one of her favorites. it was really good, i think you would like it.'

'is she still talking to you?' peter hiccups, 'no. she went away. do you want me to find her?' you cut him off, 'no! no, do not go find her.'

'okay. i'll stay here. is it okay if i keep drinking?' you smile softly, he's too cute sometimes.

'yes, you can keep drinking.' you hear a cluster of voices around him, it's his friends teasing him. it's gentle chirps, it warms your heart to know he has good people around him at all times.

'okay. i have to go because i don't want to be a simp. i love you.'

you giggle, 'i love you too, handsome.'

you weren't able to even set your phone down before it lit up again, you smile at the contact photo. 'yes?'

'can you make spaghetti for when i come over? i really want spaghetti.' you laugh, he can finally understand how good it feels to eat when you're drunk.

'yes, i can do that. i love you, have fun, okay? just let me know when you're on your way.'

'okay! and if i get anymore drinks bought for me i'll let you know, because open and honest communication is how we'll stay together forever.'

you can't wait until he's a babbling mess in your kitchen.

🤓 Johnathon HCs!

HE IS A GEMINI. Like come on. Talks a lot, nerdy, silly guy. He is a canonically silly guy! In his first fight with Miles he pretends to have hurt his nose (he doesn’t have one) to trick him. So silly! I would bet there's Capricorn somewhere in there too. And Pisces. I’ll make this man’s whole birth chart if you dare me. Just dare me. I’m insane.

Jason Schwartzman used to be in a band in the 00s. I think it would be cool if Johnathon also had some sort of interest in music. I think he would have tried to learn guitar in college but only got a few chords in before life got too chaotic and every now and then he thinks of picking it back up. 

He is also one of those guys who fanboys over old ass music, especially from the 60s and 70s. Loves Jazz, Funk and Prog Rock. Look at this man and tell me he is not a prog rock guy. He is a nerd, he might even be *shudders* a math rock guy. I also think he would have one completely random favorite artist that has nothing to do with the things listed above, like, idk Lizzo. Or Princess Nokia. He just looks like the type.

I think everyone agrees Johnathon is at least in his thirties, but I put him down as thirty-three in the end. I did that because Olivia is thirty-five tops in ITSV (according to Peter) and since he was her subordinate it makes sense that he would be just a little bit younger than her. 

“But hey! That's too young to get a PhD!” you might say, but I think Johnny is an overachiever. I think he was one of those super genius kids that got in early in college and lived for academia. A teacher's pet even.

He is a workaholic, so when he quits his job he gets really lost and doesn't know what to do with himself. He might have a new job soon doing what he loves, so you’re going to need to be on his ass so he doesn’t fall back into his old habit of overworking. 

I like to think that Miles would get an internship under Johnathon a few years in the future and they would learn a lot together. Jonathan would probably take a week to figure out he is Spider-Man and would cover for him when the boy needs to disappear. This actually sounds like a fun drabble to write about.

Johnathon may be a genius, but like he said, he is not too familiar with relationships. I think he might've had one or two in the past, but everything slowed down when he started working at Alchemax. “I’ve been told” is referring to those past relationships, in which he was probably told that he works too much and never has time to spend with his partners. He’s not been with anyone for a long time and his game consists of buying the first comic book he saw on a shelf in order to ask you out.

But that doesn't mean he is cold. Quite the opposite really, Johnathon is very touchy-feely. He hasn't been with anyone for a while and misses touching and being touched. He is most comfortable when being at least 70% curled around you. 

He smokes Dunhill Carltons (he likes to feel fancy), but less now that he isn't as stressed from work. Like he said, he used to go on walks to smoke and pass by the comic book store you work at before you guys had even met. I like to think he developed a little crush back then.

Had his tattoos done in college, so they are very faded now. He doesn’t think of redoing them because the mere thought of having to stay seated for hours in the same place feeling pain stresses him out. He was a lot more easygoing when he had them done.

He did have a superhero phase when he was a kid. He would fantasize a lot about having superpowers and flying away when the bullies showed up. Never thought about fighting back. Before becoming the Spot, he wasn't the confrontational type. The hero thing fizzled out as he grew older, but he would always dream about being stronger. Being a better version of himself in a kinda superficial, but understandable way.

He still has a bunch of action figures, he thinks they look cool. If you give him one, he won't even care if he knows the character or not, he just likes them.

Even though Johanthon says he is “good-looking”, he does add “for a scientist” in the end. I think he tries to mask his insecurities with humor, always putting himself down with a joke, always saying he’s too old, too corny, too nerdy. In the back of his head he knows the hair and the glasses are kind of a look, but he doesn’t feel handsome. You help as much as you can, but that’s an obstacle for him to overcome by himself. I think after i’m really serious this time, baby he gets better at this.

🕳️ The Spot HCs!

For clarification: the story of i’m not gonna turn into a cosmic anomaly and leave you forever stretches the plot of ATSV to a few weeks instead of a day. Just think of it like Spot taking a little longer to power up instead of a few hours.

Since he was forced to do crime to survive, I think he would've thought to himself: "Well, since I have to go rob a store anyway, might as well be that one where that cute cashier works at." 

Yes, Spot starts tracking and following you after you two meet. He uses his computer nerd powers for evil. A very unhealthy way of dealing with a crush, I think.

Spot can eat but he doesn't get any nutritional value from food. When you drink wine together or when he burns his tongue (?) from tea it's just a placebo effect. I like to think that Johnathon's mind is still inside The Spot's body, so he eats just for habit. He says he gets hungry all the time, but it's actually a deep need to consume everything around him. The little rascal.

As he powers up, Spot gets more confident in himself. He thinks the stronger he gets the further away he gets from Johnathon, his old self. Which, in the end, turns out to be true.

I think at first you don't really believe Spot is an actual supervillain which is why when you see him after the fight in Mumbattan it's such a shock. In a way, you did the same thing Miles did when he underestimated him, even if for whole different reasons. I think even though he knows you care about him, Spot knows you don't see him as a threat and that makes him want to impress you more. 

Spot knows that the reason you keep getting new jobs is because his own crazy supervillain life keeps interfering with yours, so he tries to keep it as much hidden from you as possible. He thinks what you don’t know can’t hurt you! As Johnathon, he feels guilty at first that you’re changing your whole life to go with him to New Jersey, BUT this time it was your choice! Not because of supervillain shenanigans!

He does love you (even if it was too early to know) and wants to be with you, but his head is so lost in the supervillain game, he thinks he can’t stop now. You never really realized how serious he was about “being stronger”. Which is why you never tried to stop him.

I chose I’d Rather Be With You as a theme song because I think it’s a song Johnathon/Spot would enjoy. But I also like how the lyrics match both their feelings towards you, in both fics. He wants to fly away with you once he gets all powered up, he loves your smile, etc. He does want to be your friend until the end as the Spot, but as Johanthon he is really committed to work on his bad habits in order to be with you. We gon' make it this time, baby! I cry, damnit. 

It’s also a surprisingly gender-neutral song, with no physical descriptions in it! Anyone can put themselves in the lover's place. Bootsy Collins is cool like that.

I like to think that, in the end, Spot didn't erase himself from the timeline. He just reloaded an old save. Does that make sense? Like you said, your relationship will always have happened, just in an old, non existent dimension. And since Johnathon and you still get dreams and deja vu about the whole thing (think of it as dimensional residue or whatever), you do have all the EXP of the old save. Johnathon, after going through the literal end of all existence and then forgetting about it, feels something compelling him to finally take a chance and enter the comic book store. It’s like when your body goes through something and it remembers later, even if your mind doesn't. Here's a (hopefully) comprehensive timeline:

a short little drabble bc i've been feeling quite down recently, most of this came from my emotions and thoughts so sorry if it's a little too real, but anyway, im all good now.

pairing: peter parker x fem!reader.

warnings: angst, fluff, allusions to anxiety and depression. can be read as any peter!

Peter took an interest in you.

It was kind of unbelievable to you at first because you didn’t like yourself at all. You didn’t like the way you looked. You didn’t like the way you talked, ate, whatever you did. You didn’t like.

It was weird, you felt like you were weird. You felt like you were too nerdy, and loud. You felt like you were too much like one of the guys to even be seen as a romantic option.

You blended into the crowds, and you just never believed that anyone could like you or you never felt like you were pretty or feminine – despite the tons of compliments. You always felt like you were someone who was just too... boyish. Someone who was just too you.

You were friends with heaps of people, people who had previously bullied you. People who were nice to you. People that had been there for you for a long time. Everyone knew who you were – but you weren’t part of the popular group, you were simply just known.

That’s what sucked the most too. No matter how much you tried. No matter how much makeup you put on – you never felt like anyone could ever love you or want you. You felt like nobody would ever look your way in public and think you were beautiful and pretty. You felt like no boy would whisper to his friends ‘oh, she’s cute.’ Just like you did to your friends about them.

The guys that knew you were simply just friends. All of them fist bumping you and joking with you, all of them treating you like them. Your friends all told you that you have the upper hand because that’s something you have in common with all of them. The comics, the movies, the tv shows.

But that’s not true... at least you didn’t think it was.

That’s how you viewed yourself for a long time. Crying when anyone close to you found someone to love... and you felt happy for them. You did. But part of you wished that was you. Part of that wished that was you getting kissed on the neck or holding hands or calling or talking to.

Part of you wished that was you and you can’t help your jealousy, you can’t help it at all... it’s something so natural. You wished you didn’t get jealous of your friends like that. You wished you had something like that so you wouldn’t... but you hadn’t.

Despite your friends telling you that you’d find someone or that they’d find someone for you, you simply believed you were unlovable. You couldn’t seem to believe that anyone would ever look your way.

Until he did. Until Peter.

Peter looked at you. Peter loved you... Peter holds your hand and Peter kisses your neck. Peter simply just plays with your hair and records everything the two of you do and makes little vlogs out of it. Peter kisses you all the time. Peter kisses you at school and Peter kisses you when you come over. Peter kisses you in class. Peter kisses you when he says hello – and goodbye. Peter loves to have his lips on yours and kiss your forehead. Peter sees you.

Peter never thought he’d be as lucky to have someone like you. Even though you never could understand why he was with you – sometimes he’d have to reassure you, telling you he’s real whilst you cry into his chest after a nightmare.

You were so scared to be alone, and he soothes that.

He understands.

He understands the doubts about yourself you had in the past and he understands that you need to be touched and hugged. He lets you cling onto him like he’s your own personal tree and you’re a monkey, clutching onto it for dear life. Because sometimes when you let go, you’re afraid he’ll disappear.

You’re afraid he’ll leave you.

You could never look at yourself. You could never see yourself like Peter sees you. He showers you in compliments and heartfelt messages. He swings you to the top of the empire state building when you need a moment to breathe, or he takes you to the park when you just need to sit.

You have issues and the both of you know that, yet he doesn’t shy away. He doesn’t leave you. Instead, he stays... all the time. Even when you get into an argument. Even when he’s tired. He comes back from patrol and climbs into your bed.

He notices the little things about you. He notices the way your nose turns red when you cry. He notices the way your lips puff up when he kisses you for too long. When the two of you make out, he find out that you’re a little ticklish and he noticed the way you’re a little sensitive.

He knows how you love to be domed in the bedroom and just let yourself lose all that control you fight so hard to have all the time (and you know how rough he likes to be with you, fucking all of your pain away), but he takes care of you whilst he does it and after... and before. He takes care of you all the time.

Maybe that’s what you needed and somehow the earth gave it to you. Something in the world gave him to you. Especially when you needed him the most.

He loves you for who you are. No matter your boyish mannerisms and no matter the way you’re friends with everyone. He loves you with and without makeup and sometimes he’ll let you do it for you. He loves you no matter what you look like or how your hair is done. He sometimes lets you wear his suit. He loves you and it’s incredible.

He’d never dare leave you.

Peter looks over at you with a soft smile, placing his hand over yours, you didn’t realise you zoned out like this. You look over at the TV and see Die Hard playing and the flashing lights of the Christmas tree bring you back to real life, “You okay, baby?” He asks you.

You nod softly, “Yeah, I was just thinking.” You smile.

He wiggles his eyebrows, “About me?”

“Don’t be so full of yourself.” You roll your eyes, “You think they’re asleep?”

Peter nods, “I checked not long before I came down.” He smiles softly, “Just you and me.”

You lean into him, wrapping your arms around him, clinging for dear life, “Good.”

For one last moment you think.

You think about Peter.

You think about your kids.

You think about his love for you.

Peter Parker loves, loved and will continue to love you in all your glory and in all yourself.

Like, the idea of peter turning evil? And the fact it's not spiderman who is the scary one, but nerdy peter parker with his biochemistry and physics skills and his ability to think fast and outside the box? CAN NO ONE SEE THE APPEAL????

And its just so perfect, cause he is really smart and have a good origin and more than enough reasons to be a villain, and the best part is he doesn't see himself as a villain. He is, in his eyes, a necessary evil.

And with him not going around every night to fight bad guys and get hurt cause he is holding back, he will have plenty of time to make gadgets for himself and his plans will be brutal and deadly (cause, again, the mean justify the end, right?)

Like, I already have many ideas for him, like uncle Ben dying a year before his time Infront of peter and not being able to deliver his "with great power comes great responsibility", cause it wasn't needed (which is a really big factor in making peter parker the spiderman we know. It turned him from a childish brat to a hero)

Him trying and almost reaching a solution, except it's too late and now he has an empty house full of useless papers that were another mark of his failure, yet falling back into studying and researching anything to keep the illusion that everything's ok, and to distract himself from the loneliness

Him one day just decide to simply not accept what happened, and to find a way to get back his family. A time machine. He just need to make some kind of time machine and get back and boom, his life is good once again and he will make sure it stays that way

Also the whole time machine idea would explain him not having apathy or not being against killing and hurting others, why would he, when he know for sure everything will just go back to how it was? (And it has to go back, he refuses to even think about any other possibility. And maybe him killing few people is a reminder that he can't quit one day, a reminder that now he have more lives to fix and heal)

1. How did you discover your faves?

I discovered Tony while watching Civil War but didn’t really had my coup de foudre yet.

It happened when my parents made me watch Far From Home. It actually was the way Peter mourned Tony that made me watch the Iron Man movies.

And then obviously I became obsessed with both of them.

2. How long have you been a fan of your faves?

3 years. Ive been obsessively a fan for 3 years.

I love the MCU fandom, I love the universe, I love the movies and its been my safe place for three years now.

Because I have a lack of self confidence and of will of living and I just idolize everyone bc I wish I could be like them.

I see myself a lot in Peter. Idk- just his way to talk, to move, to think. He’s just… so me. The Peter most people write in Starker fics also makes me think a lot of myself.

Tony makes me think of myself by his irony, self degradation skills, alcoholism, panic attacks, little depressing stuff that makes me identify to him.

Nop, not since I started worshipping them, Im the worst. They still make me feel at home.

“Okay so I was in class today,” you started talking as soon as you opened the door to your apartment. “And I was thinking.”

“Oh no, Y/N was thinking,” Tom, your boyfriend, laughed from the couch. He put down his phone and faced you as you dropped your bag and sat down next to him. “Talk nerdy to me,” he said with a wink. “You know how much that turns me on.”

“You should absolutely be dead,” you said to him, bouncing excitedly, your eyes wide, completely missing his flirty mood.

“Me personally?” Tom asked, the smirk fading from his face as he braced himself to hear your thoughts from biology class.

“No,” you shook your head, “like Peter Parker.”

“Okay so not me,” Tom confirmed. His shoulders relaxed a little but he still looked at you encouragingly; always the perfect boyfriend, always ready to hear your thoughts even if he didn’t completely understand all the science you had a habit of rambling about.

“Yeah okay not you--anyway,” you clapped your hands, “every time he swings from a web, he should totally be passing out.”

“And what brought you to this thought?” Tom asked, always willing to humor you. He pulled your legs into his lap and rubbed your calf affectionately, but you ignored him, too excited about your theory.

“So,” you began, “he has spider powers right?”

“Correct.”

“He has the strength of a spider relative to his body, heightened senses, can stick to walls--” you rambled on, giving background information as if you were explaining this to someone who had never seen Spiderman before. Tom waved you off.

“Get to the point, babe,” he urged, knowing you would talk for days if he let you.

“My point is,” you took in a deep breath. “He still has human anatomy! He doesn’t have the spider anatomy that helps protect them when they swing and fall from great heights.”

“O-kay,” Tom said slowly, staring down at your legs with a look of deep concentration on his face. He wasn’t quite sure where you were headed with this, but you went on without much of a pause.

“Spiders have open circulatory systems,” you explained. “They don’t have blood, they have hemolymph that doesn’t flow in veins and arteries, it just hangs around all throughout their tissues between their internal organs.”

“That’s weird as heck,” Tom raised his eyebrows and you rolled your eyes at him.

“When Spiderman hits the bottom of the parabola of his swing, he’s experiencing at least 3 Gs of force--”

“Like what fighter pilots feel?” Tom asked.

“Yeah it’s just the pull of gravity towards the center of the Earth,” you smiled, knowing he’d heard you explain things from your classes before. “Anyway,” you went on, “in a closed system, like the human circulatory system, 3 Gs of force would pull all of his blood towards his feet, assuming he’s right-side up.”

“So?” Tom narrowed his eyes at you.

“So,” you huffed. “All the blood would drain from his brain and if he’s not dying on the first swing he’s sure as heck gonna pass out and hit the ground too hard! Don’t even get me started on how much force he’s getting on the landing.”

“You’re full of shit but continue,” Tom chuckled and you leaned over to lightly smack his arm.

“I am not full of shit! I spent a lot of time doing the math to figure out the force during a swing!”

“I love you so much, you absolute nerd,” he said with a laugh that lit up the room. Tom pulled you into his lap and kissed your cheek. “Why were you thinking about this in class anyway? Aren’t you studying plants right now?”

“Plants are boring,” you mumbled, turning over and burying your face in his neck. His t-shirt smelled like laundry detergent and you blinked sleepily, the excitement fading from your body as exhaustion set in from your long day in class.

“Well you’ve effectively ended my career since Spiderman movies aren’t nearly as plausible as they were before,” Tom laughed, the deep sound in his chest contrasting with his voice in your ear. “I guess it’s a good thing you’re so smart since you’ll have to support me now.”

“You’ve always wanted to be a trophy husband anyway,” you teased, sitting up with your knees on either side of his waist and your hands on his chest.

“You got me,” he rolled his eyes and ran his hands up and down your thighs.

“Do you want to hear about why Iron Man should be dead now?” You asked. Tom gripped your hips to stop your excited bouncing.

“Maybe later.” Tom sat up and pulled you against him.

“Oh,” you whispered, immediately pulled out of your own head to look at the man in front of you. He pressed his lips lightly against yours.

“Listening to you talk about science is turning me on far more than it should, nerd,” he accused, pressing his lips to your neck and sucking lightly.

“You make me forgo pulmonary ventilation,” you said as your breath caught in your chest. He pulled back, laughing, and you winked at him.

“Can we have sex for once without you using words I don’t understand?”

“No we absolutely can’t.”

Peter can’t help but stare. He isn’t trying to be rude—not at all! He would never.

But she’s so…interesting. She always sits by herself, just at the end of the table. She could be sitting with the team, or with the artsy kids, or with the nerdy kids even. But she chooses to sit at the end of the table he and Ned always sit at.

Ned is talking, and Peter should honestly be listening to him. But instead of doing that-

Peter stands, hearing Ned’s rambling die off. He walks the short steps to MJ, standing just beside her.

She looks up from her book slowly, one eyebrow cocked. “What?” She asks, sounding somehow disinterested and distrusting at the same time.

Peter chokes on his own spit, his whole speech going out the window. “You look lonely,” he croaks instead.

MJ rolls her eyes, turning back to her book.

Peter swallows, scratching the back of his neck. “If you’re lonely, come be lonely with me.”

MJ looks back up, expression half amused and half exasperated.

For some reason, Peter takes it as a good sign.
