On your post about rather having 100 mature readers than having a large group of immature readers for your comic, in the tags you mentioned the "hanza situation". If you don't mind me asking, what's that?

So there's been talk about Hanza , the creator of The Guy Upstairs on Webtoon, supposedly wanting to drop the comic altogether due to how their fanbase ships the main characters (one of which is a serial killer) and just due to the fact they've fallen out of love with their own comic over the course of publishing it on Webtoons. The comic isn't confirmed cancelled yet, it's just what they apparently want to do and are gonna be running it by WT for approval.

Which like, yeah, I don't blame them if that's true and if they've "fallen out of love" with their work, that shit can and does happen all the time especially when your work winds up exploding to a degree that you become 'detached' from it. And I don't blame them for being ick at the fandom for their comic shipping their main characters, apparently that started when it was being pirated on another site and miscategorized as a romance when it's a horror / thriller comic but that's just what I've heard from others who do read the comic.

The actual vibe on the whole situation is unclear, they posted like last week about how the two characters were siblings which I THOUGHT was an April Fool's joke because it was legit posted on April 1st. But now apparently they actually ARE siblings? So they deadass just spoiled their comic before it was over? Though apparently this was for the purpose of trying to get their fandom to knock it off, but it's just led to people getting even more pissed because they see that as Hanza 'baiting' them into reading a dark romance comic which... it never was.

IDK man I'm getting such mixed signals off the whole thing esp because we haven't seen these DM's/emails/etc. which like... okay obviously Hanza doesn't need to share anything they're not comfortable with but there's tinfoil hat theories about them using it as a cover for just not wanting to do the comic anymore. But I don't really subscribe fully to that theory because... why? I'm just not sure which thread of logic to follow here lmao

I honestly have no fucking clue what's going on with this situation anymore because it seems to get more complicated by the day LOL I don't read The Guy Upstairs so I have zero stake in it but let's just say this - I've been on Webtoons since 2016 and am more than aware of how the WT fandom tends to behave on a regular basis, and that's just an audience that I personally don't want, regardless of how positive or negative other people's experiences are. There are people in the WT fandom who are sane and normal, yes, but I'd like to think those people are also fully capable of finding comics outside of WT if they so choose. The general demographic of WT who don't travel outside of it as I've experienced it over the years is just not one I want to tailor to so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Hanza was experiencing this and just wanting it to stop. Someone mentioned to me the other day that Webtoons is like the webcomic version of BookTok and ngl I couldn't agree more 💀😆

so uhm these are my designs for Finny and Gene. I drew these back when I started reading A Separate Peace in my high-school sophomore year. They’re pretty old drawings. At the time, I only drew these just to have some faces to put a name on (to help me visualize easier idk)

Finny-

i tried to make him as book accurate at possible but ngl i actually i thought he was a red head before i looked up what he actually looked like. I genuinely wouldve believed he was a red head if i didnt looked it up (yes im referring to the ppl propagating redhead finny)

i gave him very sharp features and a somewhat messy hairstyle to symbolize his wild nature but also neat enough to get him by in school.

His shirt usually untucked or hastily put on. Most times he has his coat off or unbuttoned

he has some freckles and moles too YAY

Gene-

made him the most basic looking guy with the most basic features: black hair and brown eyes (okay ik his hair looks blue and u can barely see his brown eyed but i was limiting myself on colors GSSSYSHDHHSHA )

ofc i HAD to make him the complete opposite of Finny. His features are more squarish and rounder. because he always does random 90° angles out of nowhere

his hair is more neat and put together compared to Finny’s. It’s very structured to be square shaped. i like to think he uses a little bit of gel but it’s not a tight slickback. he lets his hair go loose bc he wants to follow Finny’s footsteps and be wild and free too 🤩🤩 yet he can’t help but follow the standard of having a neat slick hair and ofc follow school dresscode 🤷‍♀️

his fit is also more put together. he always makes sure his tie is neat and his coat is buttoned up most times

Now I haven’t watched all of the campaign yet, so I can’t get a solid feel of how rushed it is like people are saying. I started watching the first mission before I got distracted with the comment section on YouTube, and that’s when I found out what happens and the whole damn thing snowballed from there. Might go back and watch it later for the boys sake mainly, and to gather more accurate information. But I’ve seen enough to form a theory that Soap may not actually be dead.

Again… I know I’m probably just denial typing but if it helps then it helps ya know? And I like to put a bit of faith behind these, else there would be no point in making them.

So to start, we see Soap get shot and fall but to me personally our view of him was never close enough to determine if he was actually breathing or not. Man just got shot twice, at least once critical, any breathing gonna be labored as fuck I’d take it. Our only thing to go by is Price saying k.i.a out loud which- later I thought- Makarov may have been injured and ran, but he could still have men in the area watching the boys, reporting back to him anything that could have occurred after his bitchass self made his little bitchass exit. Soap could still have been alive, but in the moment the need to announce aloud that Makarov did him in was needed to keep his true status unknown to any potential unnecessary ears or planted bugs to help keep Soap that way until the rest of the boys could get him to medical.

The whole scene with Laswell redacting reports? At least I’m assuming that’s what that was, keeping information about the mission secure because the enemy is still out there. I tried reading it as it went, I’ll have to go back later and really pay attention to what was typed before it was marked out. Labeling Soap k.i.a again as possible cover up to keep him safe.

The ashes scene, while heart wrenching, is such an odd thing to jump to imo. Did Soap not have a family waiting for him? Never known otherwise unless I missed something along the way. I mean being realistic here the bodies of soldiers are usually sent back to the families if able. And Soap was still intact. So the team scattering ashes really doesn’t make sense if you really think about it, if Soap was actually dead. Just automatically cremating him would be cruel. Yes Soap was a part of their team family … but not letting a possible blood family get their son back… unless there was a time skip and they were allowed some of Soaps ashes… idk.

On the other hand perhaps a possible family couldn’t be notified of their son’s condition due to their safety potentially being in jeopardy. Now there is the matter of Soaps dog tags of course, who has those? Soaps family? Or maybe Ghost? I didn’t see them nor hear mention of them so it’s still too soon to say what happened with them. And if the boys needed a way to make soaps death look real. Needed to really send it and make it seem untraceable well… tossing what looks to be ashes would be the best choice. While Soap is kept hidden away under constant surveillance as he hopefully recovers. Makarov could have eyes always on them. I wouldn’t doubt that he did.

Just too many plotholes. Too many what ifs. Too soon to tell. Am I mad? Upset? Pissed? You betcha ass I am. I let my hopes get too high in believing the 141 would get some strong plot armor this go around. Ghost survived, can you blame me? A part of me just refuses to accept and believe Soap is gone. That my favorite duo is done. Big chance I’m wrong I know. But always a chance I could be right. A chance I’m willing to take.

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I love responding to comments!! Even if it's just to say Thank you. I absolutely love rambling in my replies and getting into discussions about lore or characters' motivations and such. This is the fanfic experience at its best for me.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Honestly I'm not great with angsty endings haha. Even if the fic as a whole is very angsty, the ending tends to be happy. I think the fics with the saddest ending are Loyal To The End and The Wound That Never Heals, both Hector/Carmilla (Castlevania). Some people have told me they found the ending of At The Water's Edge quite bittersweet.

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Now we're talking haha. Of my most recent ones, Twin Flames has a very sweet ending. Fall Into Your Tide also has a super hopeful ending, and another favourite is A Place To Be. I'm all about that comfort after the hurt babey.

Do you get hate on fics? I think I've only ever got hate once or twice? As far as I remember. I honestly couldn't care less about it, I forget it as soon as it happens lol.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind? Yessir. Not exactly sure what kind? Are there different kinds? I would say that my favourite to write is angsty smut with lots of complicated feelings. And also I do like sprinkling some kink here and there whenever I feel like it.

Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I've only ever written one crossover and I still love the fuck out of it, it's a Witcher/Dragon Age one with my OC Tristan Trevelyan and Dorian Pavus and it was sooooo fun to write oh my god. If we go by number of words written, it would have to be Pavelyan (almost 450k 💀). If we go by number of fics I've read and bookmarked, it would have to be Sheith. What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will? God I really do want to finish A World With You and I do think I will do it eventually, it's just that I know there's a LOT of it left and it's often really daunting. I also want to finish Where Blood Roses Bloom but, again, the plan I have in mind is kind of ambitious and it will take me a while to get there. Also, Blood Roses In The Snow is one I want to get back to, and that one would be easier to finish since there's only like a couple chapters left.

What are your writing strengths? Probably imagery, introspection, and I've also been told I write good action scenes!

What are your writing weaknesses? Dialogue, probably. It stresses me out the most haha. I also used to be able to write complex plots but it's gotten quite hard lately, idk why :(

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I don't love it. I'm fine with a word here and there or even a phrase, as long as it's been sort of explained before or it's one that's widely recognised. I just feel like having a big chunk of untranslated dialogue in the middle of a story breaks immersion and I try to avoid it whenever I can.

First fandom you wrote for? Dragon Age, specifically Inquisition.

Favourite fic you've ever written? Noooo you can't make me choose, don't make me choose 😭 Damn that's tough. Twin Flames is still a huge favourite. A Place To Be is one I often come back to and I'm super proud of how it turned out. A World With You is the first fic I ever posted and the longest, I have spent so much time with it and it has a special place in my heart. And this might be cheating because it's my current fixation, but I feel like you're a walking disaster, and yet— is some of my best writing yet, I'm very fond of it.

Plus I’m kinda scared one of them is gonna die maybe, (esp with the clone story meta in s7, don’t think I forgot about that) so tragedy potential through the roof. I think it would be a really fun ship to explore.

i don’t want to spoil too much about his side of the story (mainly because i’m still fleshing it out and working on it) but it’s quite obvious that he DOES end up joining the brotherhood of steel. but to be honest with y’all, i have no idea what the fuck they’re on about over yonder in their parts 💀 i’ve got hours in the fallout games but hell if i know about the bos aside from them being a little kooky.

the brotherhood was started by a soldier and with yunho’s background as an air force pilot, it only makes sense, right? (i just want to write him flying again, but most importantly, flying a vertibird)

which means i’ll probably veer a little off script and write the brotherhood as best as i can based off what i know of them. idk, it’ll go how it goes i guess 😅

but once again, i’m here to preach about the little fucking vault boy pictures 😭 LOOK AT HIM HUGGING THE BOTTLES! the best part of making them is finding those damn things i swear.

while thinking of yunho’s story and his time with the brotherhood, i can just imagine him meeting a tech/engineer guy!mingi who’s trying to tell yunho that the bos is actually shit and them becoming friends—yunho teaching mingi to fly? bruh. love it.

like in my head, hongjoong’s out in the wastelands scavenging for the vault and he hears a plane or something and sees a vertibird in the air and goes back to tell them about this craft he seen. then he finds out about the brotherhood and shit and when he runs into it again, it’s closer and he actually sees yunho in that cockpit and is like 😶 my man? the father of my son? loml?

ugh the drama in this is gonna be MESSY, especially when yunho comes into play later, but it’ll solve itself 😏 for the kids, of course.

honestly i recently got new vegas and i lowkey kind of want to write a story in vegas? like all the cliches; casinos, gambling, mafia, gangs, you know? i actually started a csi ateez story but it got changed from las vegas to miami because of an episode that i liked and now i‘m kicking myself for that 😭 oh well, i can always write a fallout new vegas au i guess.

HMMM okay this is a good question. quinn’s top bitch in the show and erica acts pretty similarly i’d say; quinn also tends to go after guys and erica’s comes more from a place of wanting to be wanted whereas quinn’s is more of a status thing, but she does have similar insecurities so the boy crazy stuff erica does would make sense for her as well, albeit toned down and more in a status-hungry sort of way. that’s important to know methinks.

since brittany’s gonna be like, a new character from the ground-up in this universe, i think she’d stay relatively the same as the show except she’s a vampire. i also think she wouldn’t feed off of humans like maliciously or purposefully even, she makes out with a ton of people so i think she just does it then and everyone thinks it’s because she’s just a bit silly like that 💀💀💀

with quinn and brittany together - since santana would have an aversion to drinking blood from humans like that, similar to sarah - i think since they have that in common, their friendship would sorta be built upon their vampirism? if that makes sense? like i know brittany doesn’t really drink blood the same way quinn does but she’s not irked by talking about it or even just doing it so quinn can like chill and be super vampiric around britt i guess LOL and they’re kind of partners in crime in a way where brittany often just tags alone with quinn when she’s drinking blood or literally just going to the grocery store because they’re just kinda used to being together like that. especially after santana gets the job of babysitting blaine too, cause she ends up having to spend a lot more time with blaine and sam. brittany and quinn tag along a lot too, but when they’re not, they’re together!! and brittany i believe wouldve always been popular even (before being turned into a vampire btw. idk when or how that happens but there was a period of time when she wasn’t so.) anyway i think quinn would have ALWAYS wanted to be her friend & in her circles bc quinn always wanted to be popular and loved, similar to erica in the mbav movie!!! so that’s why quinn also was very quick to be close to brittany & hangout w her a ton, etc etc, esp after finding out she’s also a vampire lol.

also brittany would probably drop by blamtana a lot because she’s literally in love with santana like that and ngl quinn is too, so quinn would eventually catch up and hang w them too, and since tina’s attracted to quinn + besties with blam, tina’s there too… yup yup it all makes sense in my mind

oh and important to know- brittany and santana are not together they’re still mostly at their s1 and early s2 fwb situation for most of it!

also even after the 3 cheers for evil ep i think that the unholy trinity would stay cheerleaders even if that doesn’t make sense idc. esp quinn. she’s not about to relinquish her power because there just so happened to be a witch . cult . thing . going on 😲
