Hey what’s the consensus on how Pokotho/Pokey—“hates every voice that’s not his own”—feels about the other Lords in Black. Because I never see this discussed and I’m thinking about it. CONSTANTLY.

Sure, he can control the world. But once he achieves that, do we not then consider whether or not he’d try to go after his siblings? Because if your one driving motivation is ‘everybody else stop talking FOREVER,’ I can’t see why he wouldn’t feel that way about the other cosmic beings he’s surrounded by. Like sure they’re siblings, but I’m not confident that would stop any of them from going after each other. After all, the Lords DESPISE Webby, their sister. Whose to say they don’t turn on each other when their motives clash?

rewatching black friday and first of all angela giarratana is an incredible actress and i wish in my lifetime i will be able to gather even an ounce of her talent, she is incredible

but more importantly i know people have spoken about lex's monologue for years now, but after yellowjacket it just,,, oh it hurts so much more! she was going to be an actress with all of her childish confidence and hope in the world !! she might not have been the angel to break through her cliché boundaries (that line FUCKS by the way) but she was not going to give up hope for herself and hannah and ethan to have a better life flash forward to yellowjacket and in a meagre two years she has (if this story follows nmt1 canon) gotten arrested for selling drugs, moved out of her home, lost all hope of being a kid again in any way. she's given up on all her dreams in order to keep hannah safe and happy and even that she cannot do anymore, it's so painful. this lex would fall under wiggly's influence so fast, she has more holes, she needs more things and needs it harder, it's so *clenches fist bites knuckles* i could talk about alexandra foster for years she is THE character of all time

Quick thought on the lords in black, are they a commentary on the internet, beings created in a space of black (the screens of our phone) and white (the light that reflects back)? They represent the worst thats come from it- how quickly we are enflamed to rage (wiggly), consuming the fake pageantry (nibbly), watching us destroy ourselves and each other (blinky), keeping record of all the mistakes we’ve made in the past with no redemption (tinky), and getting locked into a singular opinion, or voice (pokey).

Then with Webby, she is the best to come of the internet, which is that it connects us all. She can’t save the citizens of hatchetfield because ultimately the existence of the lords and how they interact in hatchetfield is up to the them. The lords exist because they summon them and until they can find a way to take away their power, they’re doomed to keep repeating their mistakes.

Sidenote: i kind of hope the hatchetfield saga ends in an Into the Woods style musical, where they’ve pulled characters from all these different timelines. So we get the original Paul (who was pulled after pokeys reign and has his mind mostly back except he sings all the time now), stoner emma (or linda for that matter), pete spankovski (eventually freeing ted from his box), lex (and grace chasity as a villain), becky or ms. Holloway, green peace girl (and melissa for a joke), and general mcnamara (who’s the only one who knows whats going on). Et al really

Curt’s working-class shopper going completely feral after his little speech about economic hardship and losing his job.  And all of Feast or Famine.

Zoe describing 10k as “loaded” and being so proud of being able to afford to live with only two roommates.

Frank agreeing to an ill-advised marriage with a woman he doesn’t know just to keep his business open.

Lex’s anger and constant panic about money throughout the first half of Yellowjacket, letting all the joy and happiness seep out of her life as she struggles to pay off the medical bills for the one person she loves most.

Nick and Matt Lang really fucking get it.
