Anyone can correct me, but as far as I can remember, the story goes:

As a college freshman, Alex and her roommate got along great. Best Friends. So much so, that when the roommate was on a video call with her boyfriend, Aydin, she and Alex started touching each other while he was watching.

Aydin was so taken by Alex that he wouldn't let it go, and eventually the roommate got jealous, took it out on Alex, started rumors about her that ruined her reputation with friends and she somehow lost her scholarship.

Alex transferred to Trinity College and started escorting so that she wouldn't have student debt. Meanwhile, Aydin was trying to stay away from her (at this point, they have never met in person? I think?), and be the good son his father wanted. His father arranged a marriage for him, but he couldn't go through with it. He only wanted Alex. But by the time he was ready to go to her, she'd already saved herself and didn't want him. But she really did. But she wasn't ready to forgive him for abandoning her when his girlfriend was sabotaging her entire life..?

Oh, and he wanted her to stop escorting because that was gross - letting other men touch her (did he forget where he met her? Or was that okay because it was his girlfriend and for his pleasure?). And Alex refused because she wasn't going to let anyone else pay for her way, or let a man tell her what she was going to do (even though her plan was to eventually stop escorting anyway.) She was an fully independent woman who didn't need anyone's help.

I don't understand their relationship at all. They'd never even met in person before they decided that was the person for them. I mean, even Kai and Banks spent more time together before they got married, and their timeline is insanely short. The whole thing echoes the same idea that was started in Corrupt, which is that Alex has some sort of magnetism that draws people to her, and even though her attitude is in your face all the time, it's impossible to hate her because she's just so warm and delightful. Give me a break; she can't be this perfect.

Aydin planning this whole thing because Alex didn't want him even though he'd never really spent time with her screams pathetic to me. Sir, kindergarteners act more mature than this. And the fact that he was right and Alex wanted him all along, therefore making everything that happened in Nightfall seem worth it. Noooo.

He could have ruined Emory's life, but oh, it's okay because he was so in love with Alex and that's understandable🤩

And don't even get me started on the three pages of Emory just sitting there narrating while horsemen go all out defending Alex, demanding a large wedding and whatever else, for their darling. Meanwhile, she's in the room giggling about how cute he is. Gag. My patience for Alex had long expired by that point, but that was the final nail in the coffin. We just didn't need it, when there was so much between Will and Emory left untouched.

I mean, I'm more relaxed about Alex than most around here, but I really have no patience for Aydin. However, I've said before, that I think his story arc would have been helped if he'd been at least in his thirties during his time in Blackchurch. Not that I would've liked him - just that it would have made more sense. He still sucks either way.

i know we only saw one real scene, but i can already tell that jack black is not going to be playing steve minecraft, he is just going to be playing jack black. its so intensely disappointing when they had the opportunity to employ a new actor to bring to light like. imo steve minecraft should have been cast as just an average looking guy. just some random dude. Hi KO. How are you? I have seen this devil's Night discussion going for a long time and finally gathered the courage to add something too.

I have observed that Alex is ALWAYS the victim, in every situation of her life. Everytime she talks to someone she always portrays herself as a victim who has seen way too many bad things happen to her.

Remember when in conclave she was talking to Rika and told her How she and her room mate got together for Aydin and she had to face the consequences and portrayed her roommate as crazy and a bitch for talking to people. I was like what? Alex was the one who meddled into a relationship, her roommate was Aydin's fiancee. And her relationship broke because of Alex and aydin, who knows maybe she loved Aydin and after they broke up for the first, she never wanted to be together again.

That girl had to suffer too, her roommate turned out to be a Backstabber, and her Fiance was a cheat and a coward. I am not giving clean chit to Aydin too, he was an asshole. But let's talk about girls. Alex told Rika How only Alex was the one who faced the consequences but what about Aurora???? She had to study in the same college as Alex and see her everyday? Her relationship was ruined not Alex's and considering how she and Aydin run in the same circles may be her family was bad too and she faced humiliation as well. How many nights must she have cried? How on earth is Aurora a bitch and crazy? You are a bad friend and a bad person what the other person did was completely valid. And Aurora talking to others was completely valid, she had to talk to someone.

And even in that train scene she looked Emory in the eye and said "you don't know what I went through" Like bitch what? It's Emory she had been suffering since she was 11 a literal child. And you know it well. How again you are the victim?

Even in the shower scene, after Emory leaves both will and Alex are wary but for what? Alex was the one who moaned Will's name, sure Aydin forced her but hey Aydin forced her to talk to him too, she didn't do that.

I believe Alex is very good at manipulation or Rika is really really dumb.

Alex was a victim when she and Aurora got together and after that Alex and Aydin married and she was also the victim when she hit Emory more than once, knowing she was a child abuse survivor and a victim then too when Aydin wasn't talking to her but to Emory. She really knows how to twist a narrative in her favor don't you think?

Honestly I find that she is inconsiderate, rude and a bad person.

The topic of Alex is something that never seems to end. I also think that Alex always sees sees herself as the victim, even though that goes directly against what the series is about - owning who you are and what you do.

And the thing is, if Alex had just acknowledged she h had more of a hand in her circumstances, we could probably respect her more. If she said, "I messed up. I saw she was uncomfortable but I wanted Aydin's eyes on me again, so I took it. It was selfish, and I get why she hates me." And Aydin breaking up with Aurora and still focusing only on Alex, but then not being there for Alex until she was already escorting, must have been so confusing. She could have been angry at him for both herself and Aurora, but Aurora is never mentioned again. It just seems that Alex didn't care about her at all, which is hard when we're sold a character that is so warm and welcoming and full of light.

I have a post somewhere talking about my views on this situation. I'll see if I can find it and link it, but it might take a while.

I can't remember if Alex had ever mentioned her parents, but it's pos she doesn't have the greatest relationship with them. But I doubt it's any worse than what Banks experienced with her mom. And certainly not harder than Emory. I'm sure Alex has had some tough nights. I'm sure she's been demeaned or even scared by some of her clients. I'm sure she's had to do thing she never thought she'd have to do just to accomplish her goals.

And I don't mind that she's mad at Emory for having a bond with the man she both loves and thinks ruined her life.

For me, it's thinking that Emory is somehow weaker than her, or that their bond is entirely about hurting her. This isn't about her anymore. It may have started that way, but it changed because Emory controls her story. She was never just going to let Aydin or Will just lead her around for their own purpose. Whatever happened, good or bad, she was going to set her own circumstances. She takes the lead in every situation she can, instead of letting things happen to her and then blaming the bad things that happen on other people. I think this is where Alex fails the most.

I believe Alex is very good at manipulation

I believe Alex is really good at manipulation. That's a huge part of her character and actually why she's so popular with clients. If you have that chance, go to hideaway and read the scene with Banks in the shower after the rain. And if you've got extra time, compare that to the shower scene with Damon and Em.

Not sure why Alex is allowed to go on seeing herself as the victim in every one else's story, when it seems like that is something Michael wouldn't tolerate.
