The more I hear about the fallout from the queen’s death (namely the 12 days of mourning), the more I’m impressed at how thoroughly the British government REALLY wants to make sure people mourn the loss of the queen.

the one Random Tiny Detail in the MCU that will never cease to bug me is that line. “you used to put newspaper in your shoes”. ....aS SOMEONE WHO IS 23 YEARS OLD AND WEARS A KIDS SIZE 2. Steve. Honey. Sweetie. Why newspaper. The ink will ruin your socks, it itches, it wears out almost immediately and also shoe inserts are??? so easy to sew custom to your needs (ie, making big shoes fit smol feets)... like it was the 1930s, the “guy buying and selling rags out of a cart on the street” was common enough to be a LITERAL FILM AND ANIMATION TROPE, Steve my man my dude my fellow Rage-Filled Tiny Irish Trans Boy, go out to the rag man, buy some rags, and sew some shoe inserts that will last you more than five hours. srsly fabric inserts have MONTHS if not YEARS of life, can be repaired, and don’t even require a pattern. Can... can Steve Rogers not sew. ESPECIALLY taking the trans boy hc into account, wHY DID HE GROW UP IN THE 30s AND NOT LEARN TO SEW. WHO IS FIXING THE STRAPS AND SEAMS ON HIS ARMY KIT. BC THAT SHIT TEARS. STEVE YOU ARE FROM THE NINETEEN FUCKING THIRTIES PLEASE LEARN TO SEW A FUCKING SHOE INSERT

do you even watch tv
I grew up without tv and it's one of the things that has made socialization with other people difficult for me since so much of shared culture comes from shared references and experiences, but you live the life you live and I get on all right. One of the ways I get on is by being the friend who hasn't seen anything, who's known to not get references, and this suits me. The people I socialize with the most often are accepting of this trait, and the people I socialize with the most deeply are the people with whom I share other traits and other elements of shared culture and experience.
The thing of it is, though, that there is some really excellent television out there that I *have* consumed. And I'm not really aware of how to delight in this content in a shared way. It's like knowing just a few words of the local language, but instead of from a guidebook you got some odd selection from an archaic dictionary. Like talking about shows you've watched is a dialect in itself.
And I know I'm not alone in this. How many people have been made to feel less alone by Star Trek? And by Star Trek communities? This isn't new, I'm not special, I'm frustrated that I haven't figured it out yet. I'm working on it, at least.

Can you imagine suing Boeing and coming home to find Boeing's faulty plane parts washed up in your backyard?

A customer contacted our team with questions, and then finished their email with: "I am daunted by the complexities and unknowns." I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since.

also I love that Grover gets separated from the kids and immediately starts playing mind games with a god. he's like finally I don't have to be a good role model for a second. let's talk brutality.

Please please please I know we all love Friends and Chandler was our favourite character and Matthew always put a smile on our faces and that’s all amazing but can we please please please talk about this:
“I've had a lot of ups and downs in my life. I'm still working through it personally, but the best thing about me is that if an alcoholic or drug addict comes up to me and says, 'Will you help me?' I will always say, 'Yes, I know how to do that. I will do that for you, even if I can't always do it for myself! So I do that, whenever I can. In groups, or one on one.
And I created the Perry House in Malibu, a sober-living facility for men. I also wrote my play The End of Longing, which is a personal message to the world, an exaggerated form of me as a drunk. I had something important to say to people like me, and to people who love people like me.
When I die, I know people will talk about Friends, Friends, Friends. And I'm glad of that, happy l've done some solid work as an actor, as well as given people multiple chances to make fun of my struggles on the world wide web...
but when I die, as far as my so-called accomplishments go, it would be nice if Friends were listed far behind the things I did to try to help other people.
I know it won't happen, but it would be nice.”

“But what does Grover bring to the table? He’s just the comedy relief character.” Grover is juggling the role of babysitter, mediator, and emotional manipulator and he cracks jokes too? Give him a BREAK
