I want to clarify that I meant if he wouldn't want one, it's not bc he'd rather fool around but bc he's scared to get left and wanted your opinion. I feel like I don't understand his character fully at this point. As for whether he'd be scared to get left… well, most people are, so I think that's reasonable. Because he's living with his uncle, we know that Eddie specifically has lost his parents one way or another; they either left of their own volition or were taken from him or maybe both. We just don't know, which means there's plenty of room to mold that history into whatever you want, definitely room for some abandonment issues. Get that trauma in young amirite. The social ostracism can't help, even if he does have friends.

Honestly, I think part of what makes so many people like Eddie is because we weren't really given enough to determine hard lines on his character, which may be why you're having trouble. We know a little bit about him, we see him enough to have become fond of him, but it's still only a handful of moments in a single season. That means there's a LOT that is left open to interpretation and, frankly, projection. That sounds weird, but actually it's great; characters with just enough to relate to and plenty of room to project on have a really easy time becoming fan favorites because everyone gets what they want.

I guess what I want to communicate is like, don't worry about not "getting" the character. I'm not sure there's all that much TO get. He's there to have fun with all his possibilities!

she really is trying the hardest to do this in her own terms, in this industry that pretty much allows no wiggle room when it comes to being as big as she’s gotten. it’s clear to me she doesn’t care about maintaining the level of notoriety she has now, she cares about connecting to the subset of people who her art has always been aimed at and that is it. and i find it so admirable! it must be really hard to get what every artists out there is trying to and not let yourself get influenced by it, but she is remaining steadfastly herself. it’s so refreshing and it makes me like her so much more
