Another reason why I don't want an actual Year of Silver yet is because Silver hasn't been in enough games to do it well, unfortunately. He only had main roles in 06 and the two Rivals games, had a small cameo role in the DS version of Colors, was a rival boss in Generations, and was a supporting character in Forces with all that entails. I do want him to get the spotlight, but I think it should wait until he's had a couple more sizeable roles in new games.

Yeah, that also makes sense. It might play into Silver's popularity too: it's difficult to become popular, or at least more known to e.g. people outside the fandom or casual fans, if a character's role and appearances aren't all that substantial. In that regard, Silver stands out just as little as almost any character who isn't Sonic, Amy, Tails, Knuckles, Eggman, Shadow, and arguably Rouge, Metal Sonic and maybe Big (who gets put in a lot of things mostly because he's a meme, imo, haha). In such a scenario, I wonder if a Year of Silver could be used to draw more attention to the fact he exists, if that makes sense? Kinda like how the Year of Luigi back in 2013 was created in part because Nintendo developers felt like Luigi was underused compared to Mario, and they wanted to shine more spotlight on him. But then you can go right to the discussion that there are many more characters in a similar position as Silver: Blaze, for example, could just be as deserving of a year dedicated to her as Silver is. And I fear if Silver gets a whole year to himself at the expense of others, the "He's only chosen for this because he's a male hedgehog! This other character has way more right to get a year to themselves, but Sega is biased!" accusations won't take long to form, haha. Certainly not something I'm waiting for when it comes to my favourite character!

In that regard, I'd actually like it if more Sonic characters besides Silver got a bigger role or became playable again. I miss Blaze, my queen of jumping so very high and having fire resistance🥺 XD It's something I'm wondering about, when it comes to the future of the franchise: from what I've heard, the inclusion of three other playable characters in Frontiers was well-received. Will Sega use that information to decide to bring other characters back into a playable role as well?

More Updates on Bray Archive

So I did a lot of work on the site in the past few days, and it is looking good. I got the home page finally working. You can see I have a moving home banner and the grid tiles for a hub of links.

Multiple Device Support

I have started the fun/annoying/hard work on adding mobile and 4K support to this project.

When you start adding multiple devices to worry about, you also have to rework the original design of a project. Which is what I had to do. I reworked a lot of the entry pages and stuff to keep their old look while making it dynamic with phones and 4K monitors.

Here is one example: (The wide boy, also icon didn't load in time for the mobile view)

I am getting closer to getting this thing "finished."

So far I have done some smaller phones, 720p monitors, 1080p monitors and 4K monitors. Still need to add tablet and larger phone support.

Before I go, let me leave you with my first thought when I was the screen shot for the Untethered Edge Hood.

I had this realization a few days ago when reviewing what we know about Gaster while theorizing about the mysterious Valentine from the newsletter and idk if other people have pointed this out yet, but I haven't seen anyone else talk about it:

I don't think Gaster's disappearance has anything to do with Core.

The Core is only mentioned in relation to Gaster once, in this dialogue from one of the Gaster followers:

This dialogue is why most theories and fanon built around the idea that Gaster fell into the Core, which for reasons unknown to us erased him from existence. But I'm now pretty convinced that this is a red herring, because it doesn't actually say Gaster fell into the Core. It says he made the Core, and that he fell into his creation.

It does not say that this creation is the Core.

The dialogue is written in a way that leads you to assume the creation he fell into was the Core, but that doesn't really make much sense considering the rest of the dialogue.

The dialogue says "they say he created the Core," which implies this is second hand knowledge, but then says with certainty "One day, he fell into his creation." Why do they know for sure he fell into "his creation," but only knows he created the core from what others say?

If you talk to the follower again, they say "Will Alphys end up the same way?" Why would Alphys also fall into the Core? As far as we know, Alphys doesn't maintain the Core; if I remember correctly, a few monsters at Mettaton's hotel are stated to work in the Core, so wouldn't this follower be more concerned that those monsters will end up like Gaster and not Alphys?

And another question that I think fanon has just ignored due to the assumption it was something we don't yet know about, but I am now wondering about: Why would falling into the Core erase Gaster from time? When traveling through Hotland and viewing the Core in the distance, Alphys says this:

And while this dialogue may at first seem indicative that the Core is more mysterious than a normal geothermal power generator (and it is in some ways), remember: Alphys didn't build the Core. Alphys doesn't understand how the Core works, not because it has some unnatural property that could erase people from space time, but because she didn't build it. Not only does this mean that the Core is likely just a power generator that utilizes the lava in Hotland to produce geothermal energy and convert it to electricity, it also means that Alphys doesn't work on the Core, because she doesn't know how it works. So why would the Gaster follower worry about Alphys ending up like Gaster if she doesn't have any involvement with the Core?

Additionally, that Gaster follower is the only one to mention the Core in relation to Gaster. In fact, one of the other followers says something that could be interpreted as actively contradicting his erasure being caused by the Core:

This follower says "his experiments went wrong," and doesn't mention the Core. Why would Gaster be experimenting with the Core? And if he was, we don't know anything about it.

But you know what experiments we do know Gaster was working on, because it's literally one of the only pieces of dialogue we have from him?

And do you know what other creation was presumably made by Gaster, as Alphys is unfamiliar with it's operation? That is also a creation that was actively being used in experiments, which Alphys is continuing to perform herself? Experiments that are directly involved with something we already know can alter time and space? A creation that is located in one of the most mysterious areas in the game with several oddities in it that are straight up never explained, multiple fourth wall breaking moments, and a couple explicit references to things we believe are associated with Gaster? A creation that suspiciously resembles in appearance the form of a character who canonically can alter time and space, not to mention resembling the thing that's literally called a GASTER BLASTER???

Sky curiously sneaks a peek in the box Vio had been eyeing, cyrious what it has to do with Blue.

When opened up after getting past the lock the small box mainly contains some nick-knacks and jewelry. Along with a few letters, an odd dagger, and many many pictures of Blue when he was younger. At the forefront is a picture from when he was first made the Knights captain the helmet just slightly too big on his teen frame.

Vio senses sharp as ever seemed to hear the box being opened despite having gone to the other side of the room.

"...Is there someone there?" He soon after mumbles moving his cloak. "Or am I just hearing things again?"

People who are impatient with artists for taking a long time to create should push themselves to make something they deem of a similar caliber of what they're expecting. Especially people who aren't creatives.

Hello! I'm a person who really wants to create a (RPG) game similar to Undertale and pokemon! Please give me any advice you can about coding!

Small update to my Ishtar Clone project (Bray Archives)

I got the search updated a little bit. Now a lot more things can be filtered. You can now filter through seasons and results types (kinda, still a work in progress).

And it took a couple hours, but you can use the filters together without anything breaking, that I know of.

Quests

I also updated entries for quests where they will point to their previous and next steps (if there are any.) This will make it easier to follow along with a quest without going back to the search page.

I also spent most of the day working on the old Destiny 1 data and adding the released/document type tags to them. The doc tags were easy. BUT there is no way for me to automate the when they were released tag. So I have to manually add that for every item from D1 (except for the grimoire), which is around 8,000 items just for Destiny 1.

I also have to update those tags for a lot of the Destiny 2 items as well. The seasonal events also can't be auto tags to the season they came out in. So I have to also go through all the seasonal items and update their released tags.

It will be a lot of work..... But I did learn something interesting. You can place conditional statements in string literals in Javascript, which allowed me to get the two filters working in the search page.

Ive had an idea for a project i'd like to work on and was wondering if anyone would be interested in participating.

I've been thinking about creating some sort of Roleplaying simulation game that can replicate some type social experiment type of thing. a bit of a in depth, immersive type of roleplay i suppose.

People would submit a character theyd like to play for theyre application and if selected would be dropped into a premade world and put into a situation created by the staff/mods. For example: "The Zombie apcolopse has started and all of you are trapped inside this building and have to survive until rescue comes" (with more detail but thats the jist) the characters would then have to interact and make decisions to carry out their objectives. You can make alliances with people, make enemies, and pretty much 'compete' in the game.

I'd like to create some sort of platform to host this one as discord doesn't seem to be versitile enough for the features I'd like to use.

I haven't really fleshed everything out yet and am still in a bare-bones state of planning but if that sounds interesting to you please lmk id love to collab :D
