I'm trying to work out a good way to tell tumblr i made a 2 player game about dracula and jonathan harker cohabitating awkwardly without making it sound like a grift. i truly just think it would be appreciated here at this particular moment in time.
especially as it takes place exlpicitly during chapter 3 of dracula and ya'll probably are only a couple days out from it.
anyway i guess this is the post now.
This Game Takes Place In Dracula's Castle - a two player game about homoerotically testing the boundaries of decorum with a vampire
I read this really odd book a while back and loved it. House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski does things with fiction that I had never before seen. I've toyed with the idea of making a TTRPG that simulates that in some way. I don't think I've even come close to actually doing that, but I am happy with the result.
Concept: You are in a house. The house has a door. When opened, the hallway in front of you is black. The floors, the walls, the ceiling. Touching it is too warm, or maybe too cold. You cannot tell. It looks like it moves and pulses until you get close enough to see just how rigid and unchanging it is.
You decide to walk down this hallway and see where it leads.
You will not come back, at least not the same.
Materials: Deck of 52 playing cards, black paint, red paint, 5 tea candles, matches, walkie-talkies, writing utensils and paper
The campaign for Return to Perinthos: A Memorial Book Fundraiser in the Memory of Jennell Jaquays is now live!
I made a dungeon for this book. I don't remember how I got the idea of cross stitching the map, but once I got it, I couldn't get rid of it. I kept it small because I wanted to get it done in a reasonable time, and also to keep within the 750 words limit.
Several layers of inspiration ended up into this, even if they might not be apparent because I had to keep short (something I'm not very good at): Moirae, Ariadne's thread, SABLE (stash acquisition beyond life expectancy), redcaps, the generosity of crafters, how some fairies are offended by gifts of clothing, things that are not what they seem.
I am very happy with the cross hatching, I love Dyson Logos style maps and I wasn't sure if I would be able to convey it in stitches but I think I managed
Your party awakens to the stench of decay & the taste of blood. The world is spinning but eventually stabilizes enough for you to realize you are hanging by your feet, swinging freely in a miasma of flies. Dancing candles cast the silhouette of a hulking humanoid figure in the distance rhythmically hacking away at an unrecognizable lump with a gnarled hunk of steel. If you & your comrades don’t escape soon, you’ll be next on the block.
Still have absolutely nothing about Mr. Ominis Gaunt.
