THEORY TIME EVERYONE!!!
a big question a lot of us are wondering is WHO IS THE WOMAN IN THE VIDEO. i have a theory for it. although a lot of people believe her to be the master, i have to disagree. she closely resembles Vivien from the King Arthur legend.
strap in folks, this one is going to be a bit long.
also, if you haven't read @oliverreedmasterass 's theory, PLEASE DO! here it is.
so, while i do see how the mv brought in resemblances to other pieces of history such as the painting of Ophelia and Guinevere, i think it’s possible she can be more closely related to Vivien.
Vivien, also known as the “Lady of The Lake”, is the one who handed King Arthur, the first monarch of England, the Excalibur (as legend has it), which is the sword she pulls out of the water and tells him "hey you're the king of England now bud."
Tumblr media
music video reference^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
two depictions of the Lady of The Lake^
Now who is the only person that has a sword in the music video?
Tumblr media
JAKE. KISZKA. I think he resembles King Arthur, since he was a warrior before becoming king.
I believe Jake to become the leader, POSSIBLY the Master, since he is the heart of the band and technically the one who started it all. He can also be seen as the warrior, or a knight, and more often than not knights become kings (masters, monarchs, etc.) He, along with Josh, has the most time on screen and seems to play a very important role.
Now, how does this tie into the King Arthur legend?
King Arthur said that he was sent by God to protect the Holy Land, Israel, for the pilgrims (people who are on a religious quest) from the Muslims who murdered them once they tried to enter. Some people say he said God sent him to give himself an excuse for all of the killing he did, but anyways.
So, we see Josh being the most affected, in my opinion, by this battle. At the end, delusional to the madness, is still devoted to this Master and whatnot. I think Jake is the one sent “by God” to save him and relieve him of his delusions.
Vivien is also depicted to try and save Lancelot “from the madness”. That’s a side note, btw. Not super important, but I figured I’d include it since Josh sings “And I’m taken, by the madness.”
Sammy plays an interesting role, barely having ANY screen time. We all collectively agree that he is the sorcerer, and in the legend, Merlin underwent a spell by Vivien because he just wasn’t strong enough and ends up dying. She was referred to as “a creature to bewitch a sorcerer”. With the red gloves resembling blood imo, that could be from his “fight” with her and trying to stay alive but loses the battle in the end. Therefore, I think Sammy resembles Merlin the most.
The Master could resemble God, or some sort of God, which is why we never see his face and he is only in a hooded cloak because his face itself is too “powerful” for the naked eye. In the Bible, God is depicted as such- his whole being is too powerful for the naked eye and the mortal, which is why you see him after death. The Master could be someone completely different, but yeah.
A slight side note, but all the forest and green imagery is very resemblant to what England looked like at the time this legend takes place.
Josh’s character to this legend has been hard to pick, but I might’ve found a match: Mordred. Now, although the legend and other depictions say he is Arthur’s son or nephew, we aren’t talking about relationships. This is just who they resemble in the music video. Anyways, I picked Mordred to be Josh because he ends up going crazy and wanting power after Arthur (Jake) recruits him to be a part of his round table, basically trying to overrule Arthur of his kingship after he leaves for battle and lets Mordred rule while he's away. So, when we see Josh going crazy at the end, it’s him being consumed with power and thinking “hey i can take over since they’re all gone i’m left with the crown and throne.” In legend aspects, in almost all of the stories where Mordred is depicted, he betrays Arthur, which is why Josh is the only one in the end saying “burn it up to give him all of our love” because he wants to tarnish Jake’s kingship so he can rule and give the master "all of our love" because he thinks killing everyone will show how devoted he is and will try to recruit everyone he can. He’s also a womanizer in some stories, and we all know Josh is one himself. (Galahad was another close choice, bc he is a pure knight and we see Josh in white and his outfit resembles closely to a statue of him, but I chose to go a different route specifically because of the ending of the video where it seems Josh has betrayed everyone and is on a whole different path).
Danny was also hard to pick, and I have yet to find a match for him. All we know is that he is the archer of the story, but he’s the only one that I haven’t found a good match for in the legend since we don’t know much about him other than the fact he went to battle (has blood on his hands represented by the gloves) and he uses his bow and arrow for battle rather than a sword. So, I think he is someone a part of Arthur’s round table who eventually dies, since him and Sam only have red gloves and I think with Sam and Danny having the least amount of screen time they both died in the battle. I don't know, just a thought. I think Danny has more meaning than we think, so I'd like to say he is one of the more profound knights of the round table.
Some possible matches to Danny (most of them didn't die in battle but still):
-Bedivere, who throws the Excalibur after Arthur's last battle to the Lady of The Lake and is known as "one-handed great warrior".
-Brunor, who was terrible at jousting but "near invincible on foot", which would explain why he has a bow and arrow? i think that only because jousters used swords so I think agility would fit w/ a bow and arrow.
-Galehaut, he is a noble enemy turned an ally of King Arthur as well as an inseparable friend to Lancelot, who is King Arthur's closest companion. Also, possible lover of Lancelot.
-Lancelot, who is Arthur's closest companion, is a hero of many battles and known as one of the greatest Knights of the Round Table. He was raised in a fairy realm by the Lady of the Lake, which could explain how they know of her in the music video and such. He was an unrivalled swordsman and jouster.
-Percival, best known for being the original hero in the quest for the Holy Grail. I say this because, well, I think Danny has a more prominent role to begin with and I believe he is able to use a bow and arrow because he is more skilled than the rest.
(Also TBAGG ties into this bc I think it was happening while they were on the search for the Holy Grail, but I haven’t done enough research for that to know if that makes sense).
I also think the woman could be a "disciple" sent by the master, if we are keeping up with this seemingly religious theme they've got going on. The Master could be a being of the dark arts, perhaps the devil...I'm not sure OR a figure of God. I don't feel like I know enough to make a strong statement. I just can say with positivity that the Master is a higher power that requires devotion from his followers. Josh is willing to give it to him, whilst I believe the rest of them realize the destruction done and are trying to steer away from the past of their battle and go back to their lives of purity and the woman is able to take them there but with a price. A possible trick, which is why the video seems to go dark, and they realize there is no escape, and they now are a part of some sort of cult and Josh is the only one that's like "hell yeah cult shit!". This doesn't have much to do with my theory stated above, rather it is a "side theory".
Whew, alright. That was a lot. Let me know what you guys think! I’m not an expert so idk if I got anything factually wrong or right, but I hope this was interesting!!
Edit: I think I might explain why I think TBAGG resembles the Holy Grail and other Arthurian battles another time. AOTM in my opinion is the making of King Arthur's Round Table, and then the TBAGG is the quest to find the Holy Grail. Then, Starcatcher is the aftermath of it all, where we see betrayal, death, trickery, and a hope to find peace from the madness.

idk if i'm like. late to this party or whatever but i was watching a completely unrelated video essay and i came across this comment:
Tumblr media
and i was like. huh. that's odd. i wonder if that's true. so i look it up on wikipedia and lo and behold
Tumblr media
that, combined with the fact that they're currently investigating a cult known as the Order of the Fallen Star (yknow. fallen star. lucifer. the morningstar. fallen angel) really lends itself to the religious imagery in this season.

"Earlier I suggested that one reason for the blind spot of the New Labor Historians on the subject of race is the search for a usable past. There is another explanation: the historians who are writing about white workers without reference to their race have abandoned any hopes they once held for the constitution of the working class as a class for itself, a class in opposition to capital. If the workers are doomed to toil forever in the service of capital, and can only hope for heaven when they die, why scrutinize too closely the deals they make to ease their lot in this world below? Thus, the sympathy with the working people that virtually all the New Labor Historians express as a matter of course is no more than a sentimental attachment to the losers. For my part, my insistence on addressing problems of race as central to the formation (or non formation) of an American working class stems from my view that there have been (and continue to be) moments when an anticapitalist course is a real possibility, and that the adherence of some workers to an alliance with capital on the basis of a shared "whiteness" has been and is the greatest obstacle to the realization of those possibilities."

My head canon is that Ocean is a workaholic, she saw her parent’s lack of drive and sought to be their opposite. So when she realizes she did all those extra curriculars, worked so hard to have straight As, and spent so long internalizing good academics = rewards = high life value. That when her world view is shattered by her sudden accidental death, it takes her the whole musical to learn that not all stories need to have a lesson, ( her death doesn’t need to have a lesson or impact) and that she is not her accomplishments.

The End of Childhood
(More rambling about this theory + Ego's potential home team undercut)

Thanks Reddit's u/Iwant-tohelp for this theory! The only white-green jersey that makes geographical/chronological sense is from Saint-Étienne, historically a most successful French club yet declined in 1980s. Also researched the logo in the 4th pic but sadly found nothing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, if we tweaked the jersey's colour... We get something a liiiiittle bit close to Borussia Dortmund, Bayern's major rival and Lewandowski and Kagawa's home team.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I know nothing about football, but Google told me some interesting anecdotes:
Kagawa said Lewandowski was too selfish and could have used him more. https://soccernews.com/kagawa-lewandowski-is-selfish/93963
(And just food for thought, Kagawa was once called "the jewel in Dortmund's crown" in his young days... https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2010/sep/20/shinji-kagawa-borussia-dortmund-schalke)

The Cyclone Roller Coaster Tragedy
Disclaimer!!: Everything I say in this essay is purely speculation and theorizing. This is simply my interpretation of how the events may have unfolded. You may also notice that i wrote as if i were an investigator on the case. This is cause I was in a silly goofy mood. I also used little to no science to back up my theory, cause that got very boring very quickly, and I am writing this for fun. Without further Ado, enjoy.
On September 14, at 6:17 pm, six teenagers in Uranium City, Saskatchewan boarded the Cyclone, a thrilling roller coaster. At 6:19 pm, they were derailed from the apex of the loop, meeting their bitter ends. Who could have known that the the front axle would break when it did? Who could have known the children’s injuries would be fatal? I aim to find out,
First I’d like to discuss the coaster itself. The Cyclone coaster was a coaster of wooden construction, similar to many other coasters of the era (many of which are also named ‘The Cyclone’). Normally wooden coasters, especially ones of old age, do not contain loops. It is nearly physically impossible, in fact. But lo and behold, this fair found a a way. Seen only once before on the Son Of Beast coaster at King’s Island, this coaster had a steel framed vertical loop inserted into it’s structure. Due in part to the original track’s age, and in part because of the quickness with which this cash-grabbing loop was constructed, it could not have been terribly stable.
Another part of the coaster worth examining is the cart, as that contains the part that ultimately caused these victim’s untimely demise. The Cyclone’s carriage is made up of two parts joined in the middle. Each section seats six people with three rows of two. The St. Cassian Choir sat in the front of these two carts, leaving the other completely empty. The vehicle derailed itself at the apex of the aforementioned loop after the front axle broke. Given the timing of this break, coupled with the quality of this loop insertion, it is my belief that the hardware for the carriage was worn down each time it switched from wood to steel.
          Onto the victims.
It’s important for us to note the order in which the victims were seated, as their positions at the time of the derailment would affect the trajectory of their fall and their injuries sustained. From left to right in each row, front to back; Constance Blackwood and Ocean O’Connell Rosenburg, Noel Gruber and MIscha Bachinski, and Ricky Potts. The final victim, known as Jane Doe, was decapitated during the accident, and so her identity remains unknown. Each victim is understood to be of average weight and height, with the exception of Ricky. Potts suffered from a rare degenerative disease that greatly affected his size.
Ocean O’Connell Rosenburg, seated in the front right-hand seat, was said to be the most apprehensive about boarding the ride according to witnesses. Luckily for her, she received minimal injuries, despite the unfortunate condition of death. Since she was sitting in the front row she would have been experiencing less g-force than those in the back rows, and wouldn’t have hit the surrounding track with as much velocity. Its likely she fell almost straight down, hitting the track below. I theorize she was struck in the torso (the largest part of the body), and most likely broke a few ribs, experiencing lung puncture and cardiac seizure, possibly as well as a broken spine. All of these injuries compounded would have led to a near immediate death. This means she experienced minimal pain in the moments before her death, but most likely still experienced great amounts of shock and fear.
Constance Blackwood, sitting to Ocean’s left, sustained injuries similar too, but not exactly like, Ms. Rosenburg. Because she would have been slightly to the left of Ocean, I believe she also would have been slightly off center to the track. She may have hit one part of the track first, breaking a limb or two, before hitting a second part of the track and sustaining further injuries. Ultimately, she too would suffer cardiac seizure, as it is the most common cause of death from falling. She was heard laughing as she fell.
Those in the second row would experience slightly worse injuries than those in the front. They would be experiencing more g’s as they were propelled from the ride. Mischa, sitting directly behind Ocean, would have almost entirely bypassed the track. Keyword, almost. Mischa would have hit the track, sustaining a massive head trauma and possibly a broken neck, before landing on the ground beside the coaster. While you would think a head trauma would kill him instantaneously, he would have been alive and alert for at least a little bit before succumbing. He probably wouldn’t have been able to move, both from deficits due to brain injuries and shock.
Noel Gruber, the most romantic boy in town, his violent delights had a violent end. We’ll keep it short and simple; Noel had direct impact with the track, but flipped midair. His legs absorbed the impact, breaking immediately. The bones punctured his torso and shredded his organs.
Ricky Potts was sitting behind Noel Gruber, the right hand side of the cart. Ricky would have experienced some of the absolute worst injuries, for many different reasons. First, Ricky is in the back row. He would be experiencing the most g-force, flung with the most velocity from the vehicle. Secondly, Ricky has a rare degenerative bone disease. He would be smaller than the rest, and much more fragile. Ricky flew the farthest, the hardest, and didn’t have the bones to withstand that kind of force. He flew past the loop, straight towards the ground, where nearly every bone in his body was broken. He may have experienced internal bleeding, brain swelling and bleeding, and any plethora of cardiac issues compounded by his condition.
The sixth victim experienced the worst injury of all. Complete and total decapitation. Her head was never recovered. Not much is known about her, as we were unable to identify her. She was sitting next to Potts and behind Bachinski. She flew with a similar trajectory to Mr. Potts, but collided with the loop rather than passing it by. It is believed she struck a support just so that it tore her head from her body, possibly destroying the head in the process.
At 6:17 pm on September 14, a small chamber choir from a local catholic school boarded a roller coaster. They expected a thrilling ride, but got far more than they bargained for. Perhaps we may never know exactly why the coaster broke, or how exactly the children died. What we do know is that a terrible tragedy befell a small town, and the best we can do is try to comfort them with the little knowledge we have.

I personally don't believe Legoland was pre-cyclone. I believe it is and only was post-cyclone.
Let me explain myself before you start telling me I'm wrong
Jane Doe was the one unidentified body of the cyclone disaster. She was unidentified because she lost her head and it was never found, Nor could anyone in Uranium recall her
And you might say "Oh but she just came to Uranium after her parents got arrested so nobody got used to her yet" that's where your wrong. Penny Lamb had a criminal record by 15 years of age and her brother Erza sold his medication to collage kids for money, I've never been to Canada yet but I'm sure anywhere in the world if a pair of kids that young came anywhere with a history of parents that grew weed and did and still does all that stuff? That news would spread like wildfire
And if Penny had a brother how was she unidentified if Erza could very well have went to the corner himself and outright told them she had gotten on the ride and it must be her. But again how in God's name would a card like Penny Lamb be left to a Jane Doe after all the stuff she's done back when she was 15?
Now think if Jane was originally someone else
Tumblr media
A girl who did in-fact joined the choir late and didn't bother to talk to alot of people around Uranium because she planned to pack her things and leave as soon as she graduated
Excluding herself from any social gatherings, Any school events that aren't mandatory, only going out to get food so she can continue to live. Someone who never made friends because she didn't want to say goodbye
Someone nameless.
Think about it; With Jane originally being Penny there's a shit tone of plot holes but if Jane was someone totally different who never made herself known because she had the same goals as everyone else in the choir, It makes sense.
She'd have no friends so nobody in any of her classes could tell the corner anything, No shop workers probably didn't know more than maybe what groceries she bought every time she came, There's the possibility her parents were either out of the picture or didn't care enough to identify her; Neglectful or downright horrible parents are things that can happen in the real world and which we see with Mischa, Noel, And Ocean
And let's be honest, Ocean's parents were most likely not the ones to come claim her, It would most likely be people from St. Cassian and around Uranium considering how loud and "overpositive" she was which was most likely a huge contrast from everyone else
Constance we know had parents who ran the Blackwood Café which would make her well known among the town
Noel we know has a mom and was the only openly gay kid in a homophobic town and he was always told to dial it back so by that logic he had to have stuck out alot, Making him known
Mischa was the town's teenage fuck-up, He stole communion wine, He seemed to have caused some problems here and there which again makes him known
And Ricky was always acknowledged as some helpless boy because he was disabled which caused everyone to treat him hell-of-a-lot differently which obviously made him known and we know he had helicopter parents so-
And Jane? Well if she were Penny she would be well known enough to at least have a name to her corpse. But no Jane didn't get that, Which means she must have been someone duller, Someone more forgettable.
Someone nobody would know even existed till she was dead
Someone like the nameless person we see in at the fair with the choir.
And Karnak stated multiple times that he didn't know who Jane was and he genuinely feels guilty about having these CHILDREN die without doing anything so why would he lie when he can very well make them so much happier by telling Jane who she was, Having her remember so she has her own song to sing and not one of a nameless face
Think what you will but I highly doubt Penny was pre-cyclone with the amount of plot holes in that theory. But rather Penny is post-cyclone thus leaving the Cyclone's Jane Doe to a new story to begin but never an old story to tell.
(I suck at explaining shit😭)

you know why Talia is the saddest song in Ride The Cyclone? (Also I just watched RTC so if anything here is inaccurate or doesn’t make sense that’s probably why)
1. It always reminds me that Mischa never actually got to meet Talia and that all his dreams of marrying and being with her had gone to waste
2. Since they met online, it’s very possible that it’s just some creepy old guy pretending to be Talia and that he fell in love with some carefully crafted character and not a real human being
3. If Talia was real, however, one of two things happened: A. she heard about the roller coaster accident and was devastated, or B. she didn’t hear about the accident (since Uranium is such a small town) and thought Mischa just didn’t love her anymore and randomly stopped texting her.
Anyways I’m gonna go cry in a corner, have a nice day.
