Ugh, hate that like. Nothing makes sense.
Because. "Gangliated" means to have ganglia nerve cells. "Utrophin" is a strange choice, its big brother "Dystrophin" is a structural protein that muscle cells need to survive - utrophin occurs in usually only in human fetuses and is replaced, except in the cases of muscular dystrophy. "Immuno-," just means it relates to the immune system, "Latency" refers to a dormant period inside the host. Together it means that the immune system creates it, which is does, we'll see more of later. Finally, "Toxin" means it is produced by a living organism such as a bacteria or a virus (though viruses are considered nonliving, the one exception). Compare to a "Toxicant," which is something man-made. There is a difference.
In short, GUILT is a toxin that, when injected into a host, tricks the body into synthesizing its own personalized killing machines.
But. That's a virus. That's virus behavior. So it's just. What the hell? My best guess is that it could just be a toxic solution carrying viral DNA. basically the exact opposite of a vaccine. Which means.. The first instances of GUILT could be transferred through fake vaccines. Eidoth Pharmaceuticals is a medical company, they could probably get away with making a shot that gives you GUILT. Hooray.
THAT, and imagine all the anti-vaxxers up in arms because "Oh, this vaccine gave me a deadly virus!" It'd be a fucking nightmare.

Hmmm just gonna spit this headcanon out in text post form since A. I don't think I could exposit it well enough in image form and B. It's not actually textually/thematically substantiated and I don't like actually staking my stuff on just vibes alone*
But anyway. I'd say it's pretty evident that all the islanders forgot their names, right? King obviously. Because why the hell else would he do that, but also Siffrin No Middle Names No Last Name.
They're 'pretty sure' they've 'always' been 'Just Siffrin' 'as long as they can remember'. It's a pretty cruel twist of the knife to say that they don't even get to keep their birth name as a memento, which is why I'm saying as such.
My utterly unsubstantiated claim is I think it'd be cute to say that Sisyphus *is* the name Siffrin initially picked, assuming the myth of King Sisyphus is recontextualised as idk, just a play or something in the setting. But I like the idea of Siffrin going 'oh shit 🫵 he's just like me fr' at a tortured fictional character long before the irony kicks in.
As for how Sisyphus -> Siffrin. I think that chronic mumbler and emotional doormat Sif just did not correct people who misheard the name during their time travelling, and went through enough places with incompatible phonologies (pronounceable sounds in the language) without ever really writing it down that it just got kinda. Changed until it was unrecognisable, and Siffrin just went with it until the earlier pronunciations slipped out of their swiss-cheese brain. And they just kinda don't remember any of that.
Also, something something the horrid realisation that Siffrin also named themselves after a King. Just not as blatantly.
*(though I think there's something here about Siffrin, a guy from a belief system that seems to thoroughly disincentivise autonomy and self-motivated choice continuously having their hand forced to make changes/choices they don't want but have no choice but to... It's not solid enough to really back this up tbh, but it informs it.)
Anyway.

Listen, i get why people see wolfwood as a monsterfucker. After all vash occasionally melts into a biblicaly accurate abomination and all that but...
Wolfwood decidedly is not a monsterfucker
That's like half the problem. If he were, it would be so so much easier on him
Wolfwood isn't a case of "oh fuck i wanna screw that six ways to sunday" (excited, very horny for vash's body horror)
Wolfwood is clearly a case of "oh fuck i wanna screw that six ways to sunday" (horrifyed, very much not into the body horror but realizing he still wants to bang vash anyway.)
Like not sure if this would constitute a sexual identity crisis but it sure is a crisis of some kind
In canon, regardless of if you read them as platonic or romantic, wolfwood grows to love, trust and deeply care for vash but it doesnt ever quite overwrite the instinctual fear of all the fucked up shit vash has going on

People here in the US looking at France and getting hopes up for a sea change need to realize that what happened there couldn't have happened without ranked-choice voting. More states are pushing for the shift to this more representative system, but every state dominated by conservatives is resisting because they know a truly representative vote will erode their hold on local and federal politics.
If you want ranked-choice voting to have a chance at being established in the US and leading to the actual progress you want, you need to get active. This has to be grassroots work because the people already in office don't want it. You have to start locally. Go to local council meetings, school board meetings, meet and greets with your alderman. Talk to people. Stick to a topic that's important to everyone, point out how their representatives at all levels don't actually care, and how a more representative system might help. If there's a chance to address the council, do the same thing. Get the idea in the heads of everyone present. Get it in the heads of anyone campaigning that this would be a good plank for their platform.
Oh yeah, and vote for someone other than the people who don't want representative democracy. You gotta do that too

Thinking about the symbolic weight of smoking in the TLT universe that comes to the fore in The Unwanted Guest -- the way it moves through from person to person: Pyrrha smoked, and Augustine wanted to impress her in all her stone cold fox MILF James Bond glory (and tbf who wouldn't) so he started too. and even though as far as he knows she's been gone for a myriad and is never coming back, he keeps the habit. Ianthe sees something in the hollowed-out Faberge eggshell of Augustine that resonates with her, all that gilded eloquent emptiness and disdain through the ages, so she picked it up from him to try to emulate it. She picked it up so hard that Palamedes -- the exact spiritual antithesis of the 'smoking! on a space station! what a powermove' ennui Ianthe so admired -- spontaneously unnerded enough to even known how to, simply from a sort of contact contamination of the soul.
G1deon and Augustine sharing a jittery smoke after their near-Harrow experience during soup night, and it's the closest thing to any real sense of brotherhood that remains between them. Pyrrha going ten thousand years dying both literally and for a smoke (and then Camilla sold her fucking cigarettes (for a third of what they were worth, probably Pyrrha's own good, and also more importantly grocery money). what an entirely haunted time to be alive etc.). Augustine and Mercy trading a cigarette back and forth in the middle of their collusion over the love and murder of god.
An act of small and measured self-destruction in the name of something a little bit like connection when you're stuck somewhere in yourself where love itself dares not or cannot tread (ritualized, transmissible)..........

Peronism isn't hard to understand when you see it as the Argentine expression of both "social democracy" (the New Deal Democrats in the US, the Social Democrats in European countries) and the anti-imperialist revolutionary movements in the Third World (Nasser in Egypt for example, many of the "Non-Alligned" leaders). I believe this is the best way to approach it from an outsider's prespective.
Yes, it has many unique things, but Argentines tend to exaggerate a bit when they joke it's unique and incomprehensible. The tug of war between right and left factions, a charismatic leadership that took, let's say, "pragmatic" decisions and ideologies, the sell-out during the neoliberal wave in the 90s... when you read about world history, and especially about countries in the Third World, you start to see the parallels.
