Tolys working at Alfred's house part time, calls up Feliks one night to complain. a few months ago this guy that looked kinda similar to Al started showing up for lunch, and at first, Tolys and Lovino were just like prepping and leaving them be, but Alfred began to invite them to eat and chat.

except Alfred-where-do-you-buy-"The Room"-to-read?-F. Jones dominates like 85% of conversations, so Lovino bails after the first invite. but Tolys finds him helpless green eyes magnetizing towards Matthew, sitting quietly, nodding his head, furrowing a brow occasionally when Alfred won't let him get a word in. but he makes little notes in his head.

oh he goes by Matt/Mattie? rounded glasses. sometimes he brings over German beer. or freshly tapped maple syrup. he's got a dog that looks like a bear. wait- a bear that looks like a dog?

Tolys calls Feliks and is like "I cannot?? Get a fucking word in. I just want to say hello, ask him about that beardog he brought up once. His eyes are gorgeous"

And Feliks is just like "If you really wanna get to know him, DO something about it tf are you calling me half way around the globe for??" and its like righT?

but Feliks unintentionally lights the fire under Tolys ass when he casually mentions "If you want some, you better move quick because I hear that sticky lil German goon visits to exchange syrups or whatever euphemism Francis used"

and the next time Matthew comes over for lunch he offers to drive him back to the train station for alfred. asks to maybe hang out some time.

matthew is like "Heyy do you wanna come back to my place for an beer?"

"German beer?" Tolys furrows his brows and purses his lips.

Several months and 11.25 seasons later, and I finally got back to the sole episode of Criminal Minds I had originally watched, which was obviously the one where Matt had five minutes of screentime (though he was still technically the secondary antagonist...sort of). S12E5, The Anti-Terror Squad

On the whole the episode makes a lot more sense now...since I actually have context for the running plot threads, and can be a bit disappointed about Lewis' absence, and I can recognize that it's on the weaker end of the show's episodes. Not for any one gaping flaw, it's just not really noteworthy. I'm not complaining though. Watching this show reminds me how much I miss filler in modern television.

It is a funny coincidence -- or at least I assume it's a coincidence -- that both this and HSMTMTS have Matt involved in basketball violence to the face, though the execution and consequences in CM were obviously much more severe. And it really is funny how Austin (Matt's character's name) is basically the twisted inverse of EJ: both are sports stars from a relatively wealthy background, except Austin is a horrible bully with a sadistic streak that cares nought for others, compared to EJ, sunshine child and compulsive self-sacrificer.

I thought about what each of the boys humors woukd be like so heres this lil ramble

Personally i think Edd has a mix of tumblr and newgrounds kind of humor, occassionally a bit dark but its mostly just corny dad joke shit with the puns n all. Also contains dumb childish shit like screaming and loud noises (e.g. sir pelo, smiling friends, etc.) I feel like Edd grew up watching Adult Swim and it severely influenced him to laugh at the most random obnoxious shit and well thought out witty timely jokes (no inbetween). He also likes asdf humor, because he just does.

Tord is just full on edgy and toxic, like if you mix 4chan, reddit, and newgrounds kind of humor. Its like being a noob in a cod match with him would unleash all his pent up anger and hed hurl slurs and insults at you with a bass boosted mic. Although he doesnt actually mean the shit he says and that its 100% sarcastic and entirely meant to piss you off. Probably has a very liberal mindset and well aware of peoples sensitivity but simply just doesnt care enough, or maybe the exact opposite, both are equally plausible and funny to me

Matt likes very corny shit, i think hed have a millenial-like humor relatively close to Edd's. I also think Matt would unironically like brain rot because it makes him feel young and very 'hip with the kids' cuz he keeps up with the times. He knows that its cringy but he likes it and doesnt care about beinf called cringy. I also think smthn about Matt has that kpop stan twt humor kinda shit going on?? Like he seems like the type to go "onika = burgers 🎀" just to call someone fat as a mean joke

Tom would also be a bit edgy like Tord but hed be hurling the insults to himself as a way to cope and make himself laugh when its just corncerning to everyone else lmao. So mostly just has twitter humor which is just a blend of most of these i guess just very depressing. Also Tom would deffo like brain rot ironically, he knows Matt likes it genuinely so he doesnt go outright to make fun of him. I also think he ironically finds facebook memes funny and would send them in their gc only to be ghosted cuz the rest of them cant tell if he genuinely likes them or out of sarcasm

** to begin: a psa ! foggy nelson is alive and well on this blog. this version of foggy tends to exist very much within the verse I wrote on his card and only occassionally will I pull in a storyline from the comics when there is something I really love. I have verses from his cancer storyline, if there's someone out there tryna write with a wild west foggy from 1872, i really just pick and choose. for the most part, my timeline is a comic variant netflix blend.

daredevil is hard for foggy because he is mostly over it – he gets that matt is helping people and he's good at it – but sometimes it aches that he is one of the only people in the world who knows that matthew murdock is putting himself in harms way every single night. he paces and washes his hands raw and settles with the understanding that matt promised to be different and not stop showing up like he had. foggy is always going to resent the fact that daredevil and his best friend are the same person, but he learned the hard way that asking matt to just stop would only make everyone mad at each other. he has to trust that matt wants to come home, and that's a big ask, but he's doing his best.

so yeah, thats where he's at in terms of knowing about daredevil and trying to be okay with it because he can almost understand.

Some Blue Matt sketches mostly inspired by a discord RP between me and @sliding-into-space where a reformed but still Moon Chip Infused Matt helps a reformed Slider finally find his Pops.

They use this giant map device to find Coop's clues and occassionally Slider will look over Matt's shoulder at it. I find the idea of Sly becoming too comfortable around Matt and just hovering his head over his shoulder with spikes funny. Poor Mattie worries he'll accidentally stab the guy.

One more for the morning. Haviland partakes in the favorite whaleship pastime of tying a rope to a sleeping man’s leg and dragging him up on deck. He had it done once to him (saying that the marks the rope left on his leg didn’t fade for a season), and vowed to never be on the receiving end again. But he’s happy to be on the other side of the rope.

“I had some sport again last night in our midnight watch. Our worthy shipmate Mathew who came out from home with us concluded he had been having Boatcrew watch so long that he would not heave out + stand his watch when the watch was called. So we let him lay in his Bunk until he got in a fine snooze again + then your humble servant went down in the forecastle with a rope and after a great deal of trouble finally succeeded in getting it made fast around one of his feet. I then went carefully up on deck where the other end of the rope was + 6 of us got hold of it and gave poor Matt what I call an after haul. To use his own words however he did not wake up until he felt himself strike the Deck right plump on his setdown. In trying to haul him up through the scuttle by his leg he got fast in the steps + then for the first time commenced to sing out bloody murder. After he got on his togging + came on Deck I commenced consoling him + he laid it to everybody else but me. This makes five times I have bent on him + I am the last person he suspects of doing such a deed.”

“This cold weather does not agree with some of our foremast hands + they occassionally when their watch is on Deck in the night time skulk down in the forcastle to go to sleep on the chest. My worthy colleague + shipmate John Darling tried the experiment in our midnight watch on Deck last night. I happened down + spied the gentleman fast asleep on some chests. Mat having had a strong haul from his Bunk only a few nights ago was bent on revenge; so I made the rope fast around Johns legs + Mat went on Deck + got the whole watch to hauling on John’s leg. He grunted + groaned but did not sing out, they had him most hauled up on Deck when the rope parted + down came John by the run again. I sat on in the forecastle + saw it all + thought I should die with laughter.”

basically as u said: lance as bassist/vocalist, allura as keyboard/violin/vocalist, hunk as guitar/vocalist (i think lance as the main vocalist and allura and hunk trading off as co-vocalists but not like... backing vocals yk? when either or both aren't singing with lance i think they'd do backging vocals), and pidge as occassional backing vocals and drums/percussion.

i think they would be like uhh. indie/alt rock/pop, yk? softer stuff (pidge writes a few tracks where she can scream though LMFAO) and coran as their manager. ahem. okay so where is shiro and keith?

they're in a different band, except not like... battle of the bands type stuff. i think they'd be a brother duo, more into a faster paced alt rock? im sort of on the fence between keith singing vs keith just doing backings and being mysterious and shit. i think shiro would do drums and keith guitar? matt can join them for funsies somtimes (sort of like how some bands have like permanent members and touring members to fill instruments live?) i think he'd do drums too. pidge definitely learned from matt drums? but anyways, matt isn't like, "officially" part of the band but tours with them sometimes i think? okay. idk who would be their manager. maybe adam or something. kolivan. idk LMFAO

okay, so there's 2 bands but it's not like they're battling each other a la battle of the bands like i mentioned earlier. i think lance's band would be smaller in popularity, but they've been getting a lot of following and hype lately. shiro and keith's opening act bailed before their tour starts so they get lance's band to tour with them! idk how touring bands work with the main band or anything but i'd like to think they hang out a lot since they're touring together? this is fun to think about tbh. i love band aus, thank u for the ask!!

i just enjoy the podcast so much when it’s actually them just having a genuine conversation and letting their chemistry prevail. sure the occassional bit is fine but whne that’s the whole poddcast it isn’t worth watching at all. but this one was really good! i think part of the problem is they’re never going to be as vulnerable as they used to be because of the camera now. like ryan used to cry on the podcast at least a few times a year!! and matt’s voice would go all soft comforting him! there’s no way they’re gonna just let us SEE that, getting to hear it was as far as they’d go. also with luke editing it instead of themselves, that probably also accounts for the lack of vulnerability.but this latest podcast was good - good conversations - good references, ‘i can’t imagine a friend ever stealing money from me'- the way neither of them are actually that funny but they can crack each other up like no one else blahhh. Hi everyone, we’re Matt and Krystle and were so excited to get started here on Tumblr! Married to A Disney Addict is our Disney fan community and we wanted to invite all of YOU to be part of our Ohana! So we figured what better place to start than the beginning. We really want this to feel like a family community and the best way we can think of helping to create that sort of feeling is dedicating our first blog post to the story of us so you can all get to know us a little better.

My name is Matt. I was born and raised on the Jersey shore to a large Italian family (yes, we all met at Grandma's every Sunday for dinner). Growing up, my family was never that into traveling, we'd visit a few places once in a while, but we tended to just go to the beach. My parents did take us to Disney World twice growing up and we found it fun, but honestly it never really was our "thing." Meanwhile, in northern NJ, Krystle was living the opposite life...the DISNEY life. Her parents and younger brother frequently visited Disney and it dominated their travel expereince. I imagine her childhood bedroom filled with stuffed Disney dolls, posters of her favorite Disney movie on the walls, and Mickey Ears everywhere (she confirms this was basically true).

In September of 2007, Krystle and I met at a concert while attending Kean University. We quickly fell for each other and before we knew it, we were dating. Krystle quickly began talking about how much she loved Disney, but that her family hadn't been in a couple years. That's when I knew what to do. I visited a travel agent and booked a Disney vacation for our 1 year anniversary. She cried when I told here we were going and seeing just how happy she was in Disney made me start to grow to love the magic of WDW.

It was obvious that she was the one and before I knew it I had an engagement ring stored in a safe at my parents house. She had always told me of ther dream of getting engaged in Disney with her family, so I knew I had to wait a little while to make that dream come true. The trip finally arrived in the Summer of 2009 and I'll just say, while riding Tower of Terror with the most expensive thing you have ever purchased in your pocket is a little nerve racking, seeing her face as I proposed in front of the castle was the best day of my life (until we got married...and then had Lincoln...and the.man Landry). Our wedding, while not overboard, was definitley Disney inspired (we had Fast Pass tickets as the table numbers and a Mickey ears cake topper to name a few) and of course we had to honeymoon at WDW (although she did let me take her to Aruba a couple months later).

Ever since our first year anniversary and first trip to WDW together, we have been fortunate enough to go almost at least once a year. We may have missed one or two (especially during the pandemic), but we also threw in a couple multi-trip years to make up for it lol. We have occassionally gone just the two (three) of us, but we mostly travel with Krystle's family who purchased Disney Vaction Club (DVC) shortly after we met. Up until this point though, Disney was still definetly Krystle's "thing" as I mostly enjoyed going becuase of how happy it made her.

About 7 years ago I started an Instagram account called "married to a disney addict" as a bit of a joke to both document our Disney adventures and to share my "pain" as Krystle dragged me to another visit to hot and humid Florida and the Mouse House. It was fun to intereact with others who also had a significant other who was more into Disney than they were, but we all seemed to share 2 things in common. 1) We loved how much our partners loved Disney and 2) we all seemed to be turning into bigger and bigger Disney fans ourselves (why else would I have created a social media account basically dedicated to it)?

While we still refer to Krystle as the "OG Disney addict," the truth is I started giving her a run for her money about 5years ago. Not only was I simply enjoying Disney more myself, but on May 20, 2017, our son Lincoln was born. I had always said that I wanted to wait until our kids were about 5 until we brought them to WDW...Lincoln went for the first time at 15 months (well technically the baby bump went too), and then 3 more times within a 1 year period! After seeing how he literaly ran to Mickey on his first trip and how much he loved being there (yes, even at just 15 months old), I knew I was stuck. I would never, not love Disney. On his very first trip, we bought into DVC for ourselves to ensure we could always bring him back. I started to enjoy Disney more and more for myself and well, now here we are... both of us able to say that we are "Married to a Disney Addict."

I pulled the page of cups for you! I'd encourage you to find a way to connect with your 12 year old self this weekend, whatever that means to you. Maybe re-read a favorite book from childhood, or watch an old favorite movie. Maybe do something that 12 year old you always wished you could do but couldn't because you were 12 and didn't have the adult supervision or the money or whatever. For instance, I know 12 year old Marissa would have been THRILLED at the chance to spend some time alone in the autumn woods with a notebook to write a story in and a big knit sweater. And I can do that now that I'm an adult! As fall approaches it's easy to feel lethargic, or burnt out, or just lazy. Break yourself outta the funk by rediscovering some magic and do something fun just for you.
