Hoshina who's so comfortable with his bestfriend that their line of friendship blurred beyond recognition. He can't even tell what you guys are anymore. 

He knows that you two practically share the same brain due to how long you've been together—to the point where you can hear each other's thoughts, apparently. He's also notices how the rookies always get confused at why their Vice-captain and Third-in-Command are always sending each other looks and nodding without even saying a word. Senior officers are getting tired of telling them to get used to it and that it's been like that for as long as they can remember. 

It's not that he's complaining of course—heaven forbid he take such a bond for granted. In fact, it's actually relieving to be able to express himself without having to open his mouth. It helps when he's had a particularly rough day. But some days, he just sits in silence as your sleeping body leans into him more. Is it really normal for close friends to be so close like this? He wonders when your relationship started morphing into whatever this was.

even the people most outspoken about workers rights clearly view workers in certain professions as less deserving of a work life balance. yes it’s frustrating that business hours are 9-5 and you typically have to take time off to go to the dentist or doctor or bank, but employees at those places deserve to go home at 5 too! it’s one thing to advocate for daytime and nighttime shift teams but as someone who works in a fast paced customer service administrative role with a LOT of people trying to get through to us, i constantly hear “well i emailed after 5 but i guess you guys were closed by then 🙄” like yes. we have to go home. we can’t work 24/7, even if it would be more convenient for you if we did. and you wouldn’t expect that of every profession so you shouldn’t expect it of ours. i have friends who are always encouraging work life balance but then when they need to visit the dmv or the bank or whatever and it’s open 9-5 they get visibly annoyed like….its still People who work at those places. yes people who do jobs that are urgent and important to your life, but people all the same. i swear like the same people who (rightfully) won’t work a minute past 5 PM would happily agree to have employees in certain professions working around the clock if they deem it the kind of service that they feel entitled to have constant 24/7 access to

Yesterday I witnessed a car either overlook or blatantly ignore not one, not two, but three signs indicating not to drive through this tunnel, and of course promptly get stuck in it. It would have been merely amusing had I not been trying to get through the tunnel by bike myself, with a scooter behind me. (There is the illusion of space to exit, but in reality not enough turning radius into the next alley.) Still, the car was in denial and having a go at it, now angling to leaving a gap through which one could potentially squeeze- and then suddenly backing up again. Although I was at the head of the queue, I didn't feel like taking my chances with the jaws of death. Impatient, the scooter bypassed me, and then also thought better of it. Finally our saviour arrived, an auntie on foot who was having none of this nonsense and boldly scampered through, which seemed to put the vehicle in its place and we all followed her to freedom.

Taiwanese streets, while at least less chaotic than China (and fewer feral dog packs than Thailand) still leave much to be desired for the pedestrian. Rebel Admirals Rex & Kalani from an au where the clone and droid rebellions were a bit more successful

Rex's fleet (rebel fleet Remembrance) - the whole 'ahsoka's not actually a jedi' thing worked and most of the 332nd got dechipped. (maul still escaped, but they managed to patch up the maul-damage before he got to the hyperdrive, so the Tribunal is mostly okay). the extra resources & manpower allowed the clone rebellion to operate on a much larger scale, and they eventually allied with pantora as a whole with the backing of senator chuchi. cody and later wolffe brought their imperial fleets to join the rebellion about a year later (after the chips started wearing off).

the fleet (one venator (the Tribunal), four star destroyers, associated clones, gunships, fighters, and tanks, plus a handful of stolen imperial walkers and shuttles) formally joined the rebel alliance around 10bby.

(rex got put in charge of the fleet because he's the least traumatized out of all the surviving officers. cody ran off to live with obi wan on tattooine.)

Kalani's fleet (rebel fleet Independence) - something happened and he and kraken managed to steal a chunk of dooku's ships (and later a good chunk of whatever was left of grievous' fleet on utapau) after his death. they essentially got lost in the chaos of o66, since the rest of the separatists thought they were deactivated after the shutdown order, and escaped with essentially a full separatist fleet. since they were active instead of stuck on agamar, kalani noticed that the leader of the empire happened to be the republic's supreme chancellor, and decided the empire was the new target of the CIS army. he later encountered the clone rebellion and decided that since the clones had effectively deserted the republic and were now fighting the empire, they were therefore allies.

the fleet (one dreadnought, three cruisers, one stolen imperial carrier, associated droids, fighters, transports, and tanks) formally allied with the rebel alliance around 10bby, with the backing of serenno and raxus secundus.
