OK SO THERES A LOT GOING ON HERE !! first off i based these two (mostly) off the early au events, mostly cuz the ideas i had for their abilities are generally referencing that era, so i thought itd be fitting

okay i. i wanna explain all the references in these cuz i think its really neat..

i dont think vees active ability needs explaining lol but her passive is inspired by her whole plot of learning to let herself explore the world more (more specifically that one fic where she finds the guitar, its where the name comes from)

"space nerd" skin is referencing the outfit post and how shes, well, a space nerd. "anxious proposal" is referencing the fic where vee proposes, and "rain walk" is referencing, well, their walk in the rain from the very beginning. (ykw the skins are kinda self explanatory too lol)

this wasnt intentional when i was picking which outfits to use for the skins, but i think they also contribute to the general theme of vee coming out of her shell here- new interests she was never supposed to have, love she wasnt supposed to feel, and a world she was never supposed to experience for herself. idk i think its neat :]c fuck you delilah

okay shellys abilities are something im also rlly proud of- her active is based on the og post and how much of a spectacle shelly was, and then how everyone chilled tf out after a while

i also rlly wanted to emphasize how much of a team player she is, and how much she does for her friends. her active isnt rlly great for distracting- its main purpose is to pull twisteds off of someone if theyre about to die/lose health, and her passive is also mainly to help out her teammates.

her trinket is also from the fic where vee finds the guitar! i knew i wanted it to be a dino plushie of some sort (to emphasize the previous pint, but also to add in her love of sewing) and i eventually decided itd be fitting to make it the little pterodactyl she made for vee in that fic :]

"surprise party" skin is from the birthday fic, "mama's girl" is from the mothers day fic (fun fact i used that pose so i didnt have to design the sweater LOL), and "expert digger" is from the outfit post, again all pretty self explanetory

Yeah, I've got a few headcanons, but they're pretty trivial. Here's what I can remember

First off, I've got to say, I started shipping Jaydicks after playing Gotham Knights. I really like their concepts (generally I like design of the whole team). I even used some of the details in my reference versions.

A little disclaimer - I'm pretty new to the fandom, so I'm just going off my feelings here + I like to headcanonize it all in the GK setting.

1) Big tank Jason is on my mind 24/7. I can't see him any other way and I absolutely in love with him in GK.

2) Dick and Jason are pretty much the same height, but Jason's got more muscle mass and is a bit wider. As far as I know, the size kink goes fine with this pairing.

3) Jason doesn't listen too heavy music. I think his playlist would be more like 2000s pop-punk, you know, like Blink 182 and Sum 41, Offspring and etc.

When Babs first heard Jason listening to Pieces by Sums 41 she smiled and was like "oh, that's a sad one" and Jason was like "oh, I know".

4) In their apartment, Dick usually walks barefoot and Jason wears slippers.

5) Jason is possessive about everything related to Dick. If anyone gives him the wrong look, it'll be a huuuuge problem.

6) Jason often complains when Dick pulls his shirts.

7) Silver chain on his neck - Dick's gift (far before they started dating)

8) This one related to my previous sttrip

Jason messed up once when he got distracted by a discussion of the clues that Barbara found, and, without realising, put his hand on Grayson's waist (not in a friendly way ofc). Tim saw this (at that time, no one knew about their relationship). So yeah, after that moment Tim and Jason had late night conversation about this and Drake was genuinely surprised.

9) Jason's favourite part of Dick's body is waist (and ass, of course).

10) Jason really enjoys flirting with Dick during patrols

My headcanons are kinda messy and i guess i need some time to put it all together.

1) Jason doesn't like to close his eyes during sex. He's pretty quiet, but sometimes swears. But no dirty talk, no-no-no.

2) Jason prefers classic poses. A few times he and Dick (and Dick's flexibility) tried some unusual ones, but he didn't really like any of them.

hi would you ever post your drawing process? i’ve noticed you do research when it comes to stuff like finding references to age up characters properly, making the characters’ styles accurate for their time, etc.

I usually get ideas of what I want to do, but it’s not until I open the canvas that my hand just knows what to do I guess? There’s times when I can just paste what’s in my head on the canvas and times when I struggle more and I have to look for references/trace poses (which are usually me with really bad lightening around my room or yeah, pics from pinterest)

lol funny story, my one drawing of James, Lily and Harry dancing I recorded myself dancing and got screenshots of that to base the poses on…. I accidentally sent one to a person that was commissioning me at the time, most embarrasing moment of my life

ANYWHOO! In terms of clothes, I have a board for every character where I put like what I think their style entails. Cause I like it when they look like teenagers in the 70s

Here’s my process when i just vomit my idea on the canvas

there are some where I don’t have the patience or the project is too big (ex. the panels) and figuring out the anatomy would be too time consuming, so i trace the pose but i’ve been trying to do that less and less to make myself actually work and get better at anatomy

and what shaped my artstyle? wow that’s a hard question lol, idk

I think i’ve picked things from artists i’ve liked and just created a frankenstein of it, little by little and without realizing it.

i separate my fan art from my original art in my head, since fan art so often breaches containment and a lot of people treat it like a community thing, i’ve adjusted my boundaries around it for my own ease.

in short: you can do whatever you want with my good omens fan art. obviously prefer if credit is given where possible, always given if asked, and always displayed clearly if you’re tracing it for whatever reason.

i’m a little more protective of my original art, so i hope this makes sense:

you can trace my original art if you’re giving it to me as fan art of my work. people have done “redraws” before and i love them.

i’m ofc okay with the kind of inspiration that comes up naturally, like, “oh i love how that elf has big floppy bunny ears, i wanna give my elf ears like that!” and same goes for anything that my art might inspire, that you then tweak for yourself

i generally wouldn’t recommend copying my poses 1:1 anyway, since my anatomy can be pretty borked at times, and when it’s stronger i’ve likely used a photo reference. you’re welcome to ask for the references i’ve used for any given piece 💛

slightly less related but you CAN use my original art for icons and banners, but credit is mandatory. i would also prefer if it’s only characters that appear in my stories (rechargeable, paranomads etc), bc i think i’d feel weird if someone used a free floating OC (mister b, my vampire lesbians etc) as a pfp

you can also do whatever the hell you want, no boundaries, if you’re keeping it to yourself. i’ll never know and can’t stop you. so if tracing all my work helps you further your art (i’d hope it’s not the only thing you’re doing, or it’d be to your artistic detriment), i’m fine with that if you’re keeping it metaphorically tucked under your mattress, for your eyes only ☺️

oh no I accidentally started making fakemon for the first time since my fake Fidough and Lechonk evolutions. these were designed for a few people from their discord usernames and from their own vague description of things they might wanna see

I think by the end of a somewhat confusing back and forth that I was supposed to make a combo of Bulbasaur, Medusa, and poison ivy. I took inspiration from the last two, but just could not get Bulbasaur's plump little front half to look good morphed into a tail. instead, I went for more of a 'protector of the forest' thing and added a maternal vibe that Whitney kinda gives off and ended up with this. I wanted to put an emphasis on three for the three leaves of poison ivy, so even its tears (which may or may not be from sad edits and the inability to hug anything without poisoning them :(() carry that, as do the scales sporadically thrown around there. the arms became vines when I was too tired and frustrated to keep trying to redraw actual arms to get them to look right (oops) and the hair is just a mess as I'd expect vine-hair to be

next is @rauko-is-a-free-elf, who started this whole thing with a comment about someone mispronouncing their name as 'Rocco'

for whatever reason, I came up with an ice bird instead of something that screams 'rock type' idk why either. took inspiration from blue jays (one of their favorite birds) as well as peacocks with the tail and tried to go for sort of a crystal structure on there (along with dots that were supposed to be snow but failed to look like it) while still including the distinctive dark swoops blue jays have on their tails. the wings were supposed to be icicles and that was actually the first thing I designed rather than the head or the body. it really does make use of diamond shapes so I did try to add some rock type elements to it mostly in color scheme though maybe it would've been better without. I'm not really sure why it has a mask other than I wanted to give its face some dark lines like blue jays have but my brush was too thick to add too many little details. so mask👌

I didn't have any sort of a prompt or direction for this one and based it entirely off of their username. I originally took inspiration from Machop in the way of body shape and went from there, developing a vaguely reptilian form somehow that looked a lot more lizard-y before the dark typing came out in the form of skeleton-bits not unlike the Cubone line. the spiky bat there is a reference to The Walking Dead ofc, which led me to develop more of a baseball vibe with the dark line under its eyes representative of the grease baseball played use to reduce glare and with the sorta long sock-like design for the feet, along with the baseball stitching pattern that doubles as what's supposed to represent the stripes like all baseball uniforms have. its hands have always looked boxing glove-y from the very first beginnings of the sketch so I just colored them to match the rest of the color scheme and oh no now it's a fighting type oops

this one is also inspired by their username, which at first had me thinking about how dragons hoard coins but then somehow got turned into c a t and I don't really know why. either way I tried to keep a coin theme going (especially with its eyes, which are supposed to look like coins) while also making it a dark/fairy as sorta requested and it became a representation of the duality of cat: both angel and devil (also a twist of money being the root of evil and all that). so it got fluffy and spiky at once and now has pitchfork-themed whiskers and a few occult symbols to offset its scarf and heart motifs. I think this one was actually the first design I worked on and to the relief of everyone, I actually used a reference of a cat to get the pose right 🎉

(idk why there's a bad drawing of a nickel I think I was originally gonna make that into a background but I did decide against it in favor of making these look more like official pokemon character reference sheet things. enjoy the bad nickel anyway)

I don't know much about anyrei and their username doesn't inspire much in the way of fakemon (beyond a few seconds where I thought of making a sun-inspired something with the 'rei' becoming 'ray'), so I went with a theme based on what I do know, which is that they paint, along with two pictures that they sent, one of which was Gothorita (the other was for a hairstyle I think but I did steal the funky red and black checkered tie from that because reasons). going off of that, this one is supposed to look like a paintbrush with its body and its edgy anime hair, and its belt continues carrying the paintbrush motif. since I was provided with the request to make it goth, I added thick eyeshadow-esque lines under its eyes and kinda used the hairstyle from the picture while also turning it into a paintbrush that utilizes their favorite color as the paint color. carrying the gothic art idea, I tried to make its lower half (originally meant to be a blobby sort of easel shape before I changed it) into something resembling stained glass windows that was famous at the time (I got confused multiple times while making the stained glass design so it's not all that consistent uh). it was supposed to be dark type, but ended up giving off more of a ghost/fairy vibe after I realized I accidentally made it a ballerina paintbrush (oops)

moving on to @as-lost-as-sams-shoe

this one is heavily inspired by their username, starting with the scallion, which is a kind of oniony thing. they themself actually added the 'wrapped' part to push the pun a little further, which made me think of Swadloon and its cozy little leaf blanket, which naturally led to the scallion with its massive head and slimmer body (to match the shape of an onion more than a scallion admittedly) to be all wrapped up. scallions have leaves that look like they were cut straight across, which lead to the development of its 'bangs' (which was also inspired by the fact that scallions themselves grow underground and only the leafy parts are seen, adding a 'shy' element) as well as the tassels along the bottom of its leaf-wrap. the lines along its body are made to represent both the rings inside of an onion as well as the word 'rapscallion,' which is a term that can be used to mean villain or bad guy, earning it prison-esque stripes. its eyes are massive as a play on onions making people cry, and the smaller parts of its eyes that I can't remember the names of are based off of onion rings. the skull and crossbones shape is just to make it pirate-y, which is what I can't not picture when I read the word 'rapscallion' for one reason or another

I actually had a lot to work with for this one, as they specifically asked for a fire type puppy pokemon. first instinct is ofc to go for a dalmatian, which is the firehouse dog or whatever, and I wanted to make the lower half black as a reference to that scene from 101 Dalmatians where they coat themselves in ashes to appear completely black. I made some firefighter-y stripes and tried to make its back legs look almost like boots which looks, in a couple of word, super weird. I then added tinder fluff on head and a kindling sort of thing on the neck, but when I tried to develop the back half's design, my brain sorta died and I couldn't decide what to do, so I went back to the drawing board fully intent on making like a complete copy of what I'd already tried

instead I ended up with this personification of tinder that's just all fluffy all the way down instead of the almost lion mane of tinder design I was originally picturing. I carried over the themes of adding firefighter stripes to allude to a firefighter's jacket as well as the kindling collar thing the other one had. I kept the bottom half black but made it more like wispy smoke than ash that trails behind it when it moves (which is a lot because puppy). the eyes are two pieces of coal and the nose is supposed to look like a match but doesn't. it looks very fluffy but is probably too squirmy to make a good lapdog. it just has that squirmy ball of energy vibe to it

whether people really like these or not, it was definitely a learning experience, and I did pick up on a lot of things to keep in mind for future fakemon designs (particularly not to overcomplicate things and go more for consistency, which I did not originally do as I wasn't planning on make them into character sheets at all and didn't plan beyond the main drawings of the fakemon)

I was sketching earlier just for funsies and…. It made me think. How do you think satosugu would feel with an artist!reader who uses them as drawing references teehee… like maybe you ask satoru to go fetch you ur workbook and he goes into ur room & gets confused and ends up stumbling upon your sketchbook…. And he’s like oh a little peek couldn’t hurt!!! And then he finds various drawings of him and sugu, and gets such a sappy fuzzy feeling in his heart because you captured all of their features perfectly, even down to the little details about their appearance that the average person wouldn’t really take note of :((( this could also work in different au’s tho… merman sugu perhaps? Maybe he’s having a little sleep on the nice cold bedroom floor and wakes up n sees reader in a baggy hoodie + sketchbook and colouring pencils/pens in hand admiring his tail and making sure they get every pretty colour right <333 or royalty au where satoru and suguru are royalty of some kind… reader is the kid of someone unimportant and they both stumble across reader’s art room while causing mischief one day and satoru decides then and there that you’re THEIR honorary artist and you will paint their portraits from now on whenever it’s necessary <33 he’s bratty but we love him. Back to canon jjk universe…. I’m thinking abt how it would be so much cuter if they had no idea reader was an artist like. Satoru jokingly takes what he assumes is ur diary and waves it around in the air so u can’t reach it…. Threatening to read it unless u give him a kiss (he wouldn’t actually read it but he wants his kiss leave him alone) and he accidentally drops it and it falls open on a page that’s just full of drawings of him and sugu with a few hearts dotted around and just so many sketches of them smiling… maybe little notes reader added about how pretty stsg are…. Satoru is sooo giddy and so teasing like he’s so honoured u think he’s pretty enough to DRAW and sugu is just as flustered but he hides it a lil better…. :3 Sorry I’m actually going insane right now SEDATE MEEEEE EYGEHEHUJJEURHUHH 😭😭 I hope ur doing well tho !!!! Aah ty for the ask this is so general there’s so many facts and things um (edit I didn’t mean to write a whole essay you don’t have to read the whole thing)

Recently I’ve been enjoying learning about spiders which is ever so slightly ironic considering how afraid I was of them and how I still am a bit scared to come across ones I’m not familiar with. Learning about them makes them so much less scary though. A lot of the most venomous and scariest spiders are actually relatively docile and won’t bite unless threatened or they’re a mother with babies. In the US there hasn’t been a death from a black widow bite in 40 years bc their bites are rare and able to be treated. A lot of venomous spiders can actually administer dry bites too or control the amount of venom they inject which is super cool. Since their venom is used to kill prey, when they bite a human it’s usually just in self defense so a lot of bites from deadly spiders aren’t actually that dangerous. Ofc it’s still imperative to seek treatment just in case you have a reaction or they did inject venom (although you’d be able to tell there’s some nasty symptoms). Most cases are able to be treated, too, with anti-venom and while not a pleasant experience they’re rarely deadly.

One of my other interests rn is misconceptions/misidentifications. Which ig ties into spider bites. One common myth is that daddy longlegs spiders are super venomous but their fangs are too small to bite humans. This is very wrong for several reason uhh first is that daddy longlegs is a super broad term used to refer to cellar spiders (actual spiders of the araneae order), harvestmen (arachnids in the opilione order so Not Spiders), and crane flies (these are literally flies as the name suggests. They…. They aren’t spiders they have wings they aren’t venomous. Although they do have long legs). Cellar spiders are a little venomous but their venom poses little harm to humans (just a typical insect bite yk) and they rarely bite humans. Harvestmen actually don’t have venom and don’t have fangs just hollow claws used to grip. Which can’t harm people.

Another quickl thing (I promise I’ll stop soon you invoked a topic I’m incapable of being normal about and gave me no limitations or anything so I’m on a ramble there’ll be no survivors etcetc) is also about flies. A lot of people assume those itty bitty sweat bees that hover around you at the park or whatever are actually more likely to be hoverflies (instead of a real sweatbee)! They only have one set of wings (unlike a bee) and no they can’t sting. I told this all to my friend at a concert who was being very annoyed by the one following her around and after explaining them and marveling over the super cool patterning of the calligrapher flies (specific type of hoverfly) they actually came around and admitted they’re very cool and it was a lovely moment bc once you know more about something then you can accept it more yay woohoo.

^ the black and yellow is deceiving it only has the one set of wings. If you cared the one pictured is a maize calligrapher specifically . Very common in the US and Canada.

“I think I’ll go with you, my love,” I answered him as the two of us did our morning stretches- him using little girl and Baby Tommy as weights and me doing gentle pregnant yoga. “I’m quite honestly at that point of my pregnancy where I don’t want you out of my sight.”

“I don’t blame you one bit sweetheart,” he told me as he lifted little girl up from his hip to his shoulder and lowered her before repeating the same rep with Baby Tommy and then switching back again.

“Papa Pete!” screeched little girl giggled, happy as a bed of clams. “Papa Pete!”

“Dadadadadadadadada!” babbled Baby Tommy, cackling with glee as his father acted as a manly beefcake. “Dadadadadadadadada!”

“Sweet babies!” he cooed with a peaceful smile on his face. “Daddy loves his babies!”

“My love, will you be wearing the babies in a back papoose?” I wondered as I went into a modified tree pose, keeping my breathing evened and paced.

“Of course I will,” he reassured me. “And then Baby Violet Marie is due the following day on November first, right?”

“Hopefully Baby Violet Marie won’t take after her Uncle Gideon and be a ten month baby!” I huffed. “I am ready to have my body back.”

“Sweetheart, you always look so beautiful no matter what,” he pacified me in a deep rumble as he set the babies down to do push up next. Little girl and Baby Tommy scrambled over to climb onto his back and offer him with a bit of extra weight as he did pushups next.

“As flattered as I am at hearing your opinion of myself, that’s not what I was referring too,” I corrected him in a dry tone as I stretched into a gently modified unicorn and then into rainbow. “I’m talking about walking without feeling like I swallowed a watermelon whole, saying bye to the neverending heartburn, being able to sleep on my stomach again…”

“Ah okay then,” he grunted as he raised and lowered himself in slow succession, the babies giggling from the perch on his back. “Well sweetheart, anything that needs doing you can have me and the kids do.”

“And Isabelle?” I asked as I awkwardly rolled into a criss cross applesauce position.

“I consider Isabelle as one of our kids,” he confessed in a sheepish tone of voice.

“My love, how does that work?” I wondered as I set my elbows down behind me and fell into a lazy pose.

“Oh my goodness, you lot are so adorable!” I laughed as Elizabeth had Baby Tommy try on his Halloween costume.

The kids were getting dressed up as characters from the children’s classic books, Madeline. The girls had blue dresses and yellow hats and Baby Tommy would wear a red onesie and a dark blue bonnet.

Katie was giggling as she sewed trim onto her little coat, which was lined in fleece for extra warmth from the late October promised chill.

“Mommy, Lizz Lizz and I are thinking about a music video for Madeline,” she clued me in with a giggle.

“Oh, how fun!” I told her as I turned from my desk, where I had been getting ready for this year’s NaNoWriMo. “Will you use the music from the 1993 cartoon or the 1998 live action adaptation?”

“An original song,” Elizabeth answered with a grin. “Little girl will play the lead role of Madeline!”

“Oh, how cool!” I smiled.

Elizabeth began to hum the handwritten song and I smiled at the sweet melody.

“Katie will play the piano and I will play mommy’s harp,” Elizabeth informed me.

“What will the babies play, out of curiosity?” I asked her in a teasing tone of voice.

“They will play with little plush mice that Jacob is giving me for the purpose of the music video,” she told me with a smile stretched across her face.

“Ah okay,” I said. “What instruments do you think the babies would play?”

“Baby Tommy will play the cello, just like daddy!” Katie declared with a giggle.

“Baby Kit will play the flute, and little girl would play a drum set of some kind,” Elizabeth explained. “Jacob plays the bagpipes.”

“Ah, that does not surprise me,” I conversed with my children as Baby Violet Marie punched wildly.

“Jacob’s mother is from Scotland originally, she met his father while he was studying at the University of Edinburgh, where he was majoring in music studies,” I continued speaking. “I do believe she was singing at the opera house and he was invited backstage to speak with the performers. “You’re never wrong, mommy,” Elizabeth reassured me, going to strip Baby Tommy from his Halloween costume. “It’s a cardinal rule with mommies- mommies are never wrong.”

I really love this drawing I did of Berry :) I wish I could choose to draw like this all the time lol. Actually, hang on...

Wow, I was drawing a lot in May 2024! I must've been really inspired at the time, and also able to do lots of drawing. It's interesting how I actually had the lines, the green color, and the rest of the colors all in separate layers.... I think I did it by making a layer of color, then making a layer on top of that to draw on top of it and cover things up, and then I would merge the layers together and blend as I saw fit. I would also just draw, paint, and sculpt on the one layer. I think I used the layers and stuff intuitively, and only used the one default Gouache brush at various sizes. Oh, and the airbrush! The airbrush tool is super awesome. I think I liked using it most on her tummy

God, I love how the hands came out, too! I think the pops of orange and the deep brown-reds are so gorgeous. I must have been having lots of fun experimenting and sculpting. I don't know if I used many reference images for the colors? I think I only used references for the pose and anatomy, and ofc Anya's art of Berry, but I think most of the rest of the creative decisions came from me. So cool!

I love this art style a lot. I want to do it more!
