babysitting- Gavi
"I know it's last minute but would you mind babysitting today your dad and I have to head out of town tonight we'll be back tomorrow morning I'll give you money for dinner and everything" my mum said on the phone
"Of course I need to ask Pablo but I'm sure he'd be fine with it I'll let you know as soon as I've got a reply" I said
It's not often that my parents ask me to babysit. My little brother Milo was a surprise to say the least but despite me being old enough to help out once he was born they very rarely ask and any time they do they always pay me like they would any other babysitter. I would love to just say yes to help them out but now that I live with Pablo in his house I don't think it's right for me to just have my brother with us without him knowing. All it took was a quick text and Pablo answered straight away saying that it was more than ok so I let my mum know she can come over whenever.
It was then that I realised I wasn't at all ready I'd organised all of this while still in bed so I hopped out of bed and got ready at lightening speed and started on child proofing the house as best as I could. Seeing as Pablo and I are still in our teens and definitely not ready to have kids of our own his house isn't exactly child proof every piece of furniture seems to have sharp corners and there are plenty of uncovered plug sockets. Past me had thought that one day I may need to babysit so I did pre buy some things so all I had to do was find them and put them out. It took me quite a while but just as I finished doing as much as I could the doorbell rang and as soon as it was open I was nearly taken out by Milo who for someone so little has a lot of strength. My parents were in a rush but they gave me everything they have at home that I'd need before heading straight off to where they needed to be.
In the way little kids do he had a ton of energy so I suggested we play with some of his toys that my mum had given me. It's been so long since I let my inner child take over that I think I had more fun playing with the cars and trucks pretending they were building all sorts of things than my brother did. Mostly it was just nice to see him as I've been so busy that I haven't spent as much time with my family as I should it's crazy how fast kids grow and develop new skills I feel like I'm with a whole new human not the kid I saw just a few months ago. As we were playing with some toy aeroplanes the front door opened and Pablo came in, usually I'm Milo's favourite person but as soon as you get Pablo in the mix I'm always long forgotten. Today was no different either as soon as Pablo had stepped into the living room he got the same greeting I did this morning but he saw it coming and picked up the charging child with ease.
Despite just getting back from training Pablo suggested we go to the local park so I packed up a bag with some snacks while Pablo put Milo's shoes on which is a battle for anyone other than Pablo. We headed out and I was quickly left behind they went running off towards the park while I walked behind admiring their little bond. Pablo was definitely only running to not let Milo get too far away but as soon as they got to the road across from the park Milo stopped and waited for Pablo as he's been taught not to cross the road without holding someone's hand. They both waited for me so I jogged a bit to catch up but after that they were gone again heading towards the field to play football. As much as Pablo has spent his morning training and playing football he was still so excited to play with Milo who has just started going to practices on a weekend so was looking forward to having his new skills tested by a professional player.
I let them play football together as my football skills leave a lot to be desired I think I may be worse than Milo who's only just started learning. Eventually I suggested that we go play in the play park which Milo seemed happy about and so did Pablo who needed a bit of a break from trying to match a toddlers energy levels. Milo wanted to go on the slides so I followed him and went up and down so many times I was starting to get dizzy. He then wanted to try the monkey bars but he's too small so I had to hold him as he went across which would be fine if I ever kept up with going to the gym but I don't so my arms got tired quite quickly. A point came where I couldn't hold him anymore so Pablo came to my rescue and suggested the swings. We took turns pushing Milo who was having the time of his life with his high we let him go, the sound of him giggling just melted my heart.
Eventually we'd tired Milo out and he wanted to go home for dinner and then bed. He tried walking but he was just too tired so Pablo picked him up and carried him the whole way home. If the events of the day so far hadn't already melted my heart enough it definitely exploded with cuteness seeing Milo snuggle his face into Pablo's neck. Whenever the time comes Pablo is going to be the best father he's already so good with Milo and any other child he meets. The image of Pablo holding our baby the way he's holding Milo filled my brain and only made the smile on my face bigger. Of course we aren't ready to have our own children yet but days like these make me so excited for when that time comes being able to share all the amazing moments that having a child brings with the person who means the most to me is something I can't wait for.
Once we made it home Milo just wanted to cuddle with me so Pablo took charge of cooking dinner but I did my best to help where I could. When the food was ready we all ate dinner together before I did Milo's bed time routine with him as I knew what my parents do with him every night. Pablo came back to join us when it was time for a bedtime story we both sat on the edge of the bed as I read Milo's favourite book while Pablo stroked his head until he was fast asleep. We both exited the room as quietly as possible avoiding all of the squeaky floorboards and pieces of furniture which are hard to see when the lights are off.
We headed downstairs and both flopped back onto the sofa starting to feel the tiredness of keeping so active all day. This is half the reason we aren't ready to have kids of our own as I know we'd both be so tired at the end of the day and we like our sleep but we wouldn't get nearly enough of it. After gathering our thoughts for a second Pablo moved closer to me and got me to rest my head on his chest while he played with my hair that's falling out of the ponytail I put it in this morning. He pressed a kiss on the top of my head so I looked into his eyes which had that look in them the look they have when he's at his happiest.
"I'm exhausted but todays been amazing I can't wait to have kids of our own one day" Pablo said
"I'm glad you say that as that's all I've been thinking about all day you are going to make the best dad when the time comes" I said
"And you will be the best mum I just know it" he said
"Right now though I think we wait a few years for kids I don't think I could do this every day kids are really draining" I said
"Agreed how many kids would you actually want?" Pablo asked
"I think at least 2 but not too many I know it's takes a toll on your body and I don't think I could handle having lots of kids" I said
"2 sounds perfect but we will have as many as you want it's your body so if 1 is enough then we will be a happy family of 3" he said
"Until then I'm more than ok with just sticking to baby sitting" I said yawning
"And practicing making babies" Pablo said which earned him a slap on the arm but he wasn't wrong practicing is fun

Whumptober Day 4: Fun Uncles
AO3
Written for the prompt: Shock
Nineteen years ago…
When the last mourner leaves there’s an air of finality. Like now that they’ve finished with the funeral, Dad is really dead.
Zenkichi, Tsuru, and Mom all just sort of sit around the family room, not saying anything, until someone’s stomach growls.
“Tsuru, could you please make some dinner?” Mom asks.
Tsuru wordlessly gets up and heads into the kitchen, but soon enough there’s a loud crash and the sound of plates breaking.
“Damn it, Tsuru!” Mom snaps, and Zenkichi follows her into the kitchen, where Tsuru’s standing, surrounded by shards of ceramic.
“Sorry, I was just—”
“I don’t want to hear it! Go grab something to clean this up.”
Tsuru hangs her head and runs out.
“That girl, she doesn’t know how lucky she is, beautiful, never has to worry about her weight, if she could be bothered to behave properly men would be lining up to marry her,” Mom huffs. “Couldn’t even wear proper clothes throughout the whole ceremony.”
“Mom, it’s hot out. You know Tsuru doesn’t do too well in the heat, especially not decked head to toe in black. Dad certainly wouldn’t want her collapsing from heatstroke just because of him.”
“Even more reason she should focus on being a proper housewife! She can’t even go out, so she could damn well learn to keep house.”
“Ok, ok, I think we’re all tired,” Zenkichi says. “How about we just call Oishi’s and get some food delivered. One less thing to worry about.”
Tsuru comes back in with a broom.
“You’re bleeding,” Zenkichi says as Mom snatches the broom out of Tsuru’s hands.
She starts sweeping the mess, and Zenkichi pulls Tsuru into the bathroom where they keep their first aid kit.
“I can do it, it’s not that deep,” Tsuru mumbles.
“Eh, come on, let me do it.”
“How mad is Mom?”
“She’s stressed.”
“Sure, but how mad is she at me?”
“Look, it’s been a long day, she’ll be over it in the morning. We’re gonna call Oishi’s and get some delivery.”
“Can we go pick it up?” Tsuru asks. “When you leave, I won’t have anyone to go out with, might as well spend as much time as I can outside of this place.”
“Why don’t you ask mom? Or one of your friends, didn’t you mention—”
“She doesn’t know about them,” Tsuru says, “for a reason.”
“Tsuru, you’re being dramatic.”
“No, I’m not. She’s worse when you’re not here.” Tsuru sighs. “Hurry up and get a job already so I can move in with you in Tokyo.”
“I still have five more months of training at the police academy. I might not even be stationed in Tokyo, you know.”
“I don’t care. Anywhere is better than here. Anyone is better than her.”
“She’s our Mom.”
“She sure doesn’t act like it.”
“You know she’s only like this because she’s worried about you, right? Now that Dad’s dead, she’s worried no one will take care of you if she dies.”
“Won’t you be around?”
“Well, you know how she is, she thinks that when I’m a family man, I’m not going to have time to look after my baby sister.
Tsuru kicks him. “I’m not a baby, dummy.”
“Sure sound like one, calling people dummy.”
Tsuru cracks a smile for the first time since Zenkichi came home for the funeral. “I guess if three years difference makes me a baby, you can carry me all the way to Oishi’s.”
“Yeah, no.”
“Come on!”
“No.”
Present
According to the forecast, the day they leave Sapporo is the hottest of the summer, and Yusuke can definitely feel that.
He feels like he’s wading through soup with all the humidity.
“Yusuke? Are you alright?” Morgana asks while  they pack up.
“The heat,” Yusuke says. “And I’m sore from our fight with Shadow Mariko yesterday.” His neck and shoulders hurt, but they’re nothing compared to the pressure in his chest.
“Why don’t you rest for a bit then,” Haru says.
“I don’t want—“
“Nah dude don’t give us any of that ‘I don’t want to be an inconvenience’ crap,” Ryuji says, “rest a bit, we don’t mind.”
Yusuke’s too tired to insist otherwise, so goes to sit on the bench.
He sees Inspector head over to them.
“You kids almost ready?” he asks, but strangely it’s being drowned out by the ringing in Yusuke’s ears. Everything sounds vague and distant, and he can’t follow the conversation at all.
Then Inspector Hasegawa seems to nice him and the Inspector’s immediately concerned
He opens his mouth to say something that’s probably “Kitagawa?!” but Yusuke can’t hear it specifically because he’s too focused on the way everything’s spinning.
~
“Niijima, call an ambulance. Sakamoto, help me lie him on the ground,” Zenkichi says.
“Wh-what’s—” Niijima stammers but Zenkichi doesn’t have time for this.
Sakamoto helps him lay Kitagawa on the ground. “Good, now raise his feet slightly above his head,” Zenkichi instructs.
“Ok.” Sakamoto does, and there’s a small crowd coming to the scene, but Zenkichi doesn’t even have to tell Amamiya to keep them away.
Kitagawa still isn’t responsive, but starts taking gasping breaths that are fewer and farther between, so Zenkichi moves to perform CPR.
Old habits really do die hard. It’s been years since Zenkichi spent his summers taking CPR training, but his hands move on his own at the right rhythm.
He feels Kitagwa’s ribs cracks, and Sakamoto winces in sympathy, but Zenkichi isn’t bothered. He keeps going until Kitagawa’s eyes flutter open, just as the ambulance arrives.
Zenkichi follows the paramedics, who give him a questioning look, but Zenkichi doesn’t want to bother with it.
“I’m his uncle.”
The paramedic nods and lets him in.
Eighteen years ago…
There’s an inexplicable feeling of dread when Zenkichi comes home. No movement, not from Tsuru in her art room nor Mom in the living room.
His visit home was supposed to be a surprise, but he didn’t expect them to be out.
After waiting a second, Zenkichi grabs his gun before heading inside.
He feels some sort of relief when he realizes the door is still locked and has no sign of being forced open.
Unfortunately, he relaxed too soon.
Because when he enters, he sees his mother’s cold, dead, body at the bottom of the stairs, surrounded by days-old dry blood.
Zenkichi wants to scream, cry, and throw up all at once.
Instead he runs upstairs to check Tsuru’s room.
It’s completely empty, but there are signs of a fight with broken canvases and paint cans that look kicked over. Normally, Tsuru’s window is always locked, but now it’s wide open and there’s the remnants of what looks like a sheet tied to the table.
Other than that, there’s no sign of Tsuru in the house.
Present
There’s a whirr of activity that eventually settles with Zenkichi sitting in the hospital room with Kitagawa.
A doctor comes in. “Hello, you’re his uncle?” she asks. “Have you contacted his parents?”
“No, they passed away,” Zenkichi says. “But I’m responsible for him at the moment.”
“Do you have his medical information?”
“No, but his mother suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.”
“Of course, probably complications from the heat. Make sure he’s rested and hydrated and doesn’t stay outside for too long. You administered CPR?”
“Yes.”
“You did a good job. Cracking the ribs is a normal occurrence so I don’t want you to think—”
“I know, I did it to his mother too,” Zenkichi admits. He’d been absolutely panicked when she collapsed during a school picnic and spent the whole time inconsolable until his father explained he hadn’t made it worse.
“Ah, well I just didn’t want you worrying you did something wrong. You saved his life.”
“Thank you, Doctor.”
“Do you know of any medications he’s taking?”
“No, I’m sorry.”
“Well, I’d like to keep him for a bit just to make sure there’s no complications. I’m sure you’ve noticed but he’s severely underweight and suffering from anemia. We might end up keeping him overnight.”
“Alright, thank you.”
The doctor leaves and Zenkichi practically collapses into the nearest chair.
God, he’s more exhausted than he’s been in a long time. They’ll probably end up staying in Sapporo an extra day and—
Oh. Oh no.
Zenkichi pulls out his phone and calls Akane.
“Where are you?” Akane asks as soon as the phone picks up.
Zenkichi sighs. “Look, I’m not going to be home tonight.”
“WHAT?! What are you doing?!”
“I’m sorry! I don’t want to do this, but your cousin had a heart attack.”
“Huh? Grandma and Grandpa didn’t—”
“No, on my side of the family. My sister’s son.”
“Are you serious? You can’t come up with a better lie?! You only mention your sister sometimes and I sure as hell haven’t met her.”
“It’s really, really complicated. I promise I’ll explain tomorrow.”
“Yeah, whatever. See you.” The line clicks, and Zenkichi throws his head back. Why is his life like this?
“Is that your daughter?”
Zenkichi snaps his head up, and Kitagwa’s awake.
“Kitagawa!”
“Lying to the hospital is one thing,” Kitagawa says, “but there’s no need to lie to your daughter for my sake.”
It’s funny that for all Kitagawa inherits from his father, he makes the exact same look as Tsuru did when she caught Zenkichi in a lie.
Daring him to try and dig himself deeper.
“Er, right.” Zenkichi scratches his head. “Look, Kitagawa. I wasn’t… exactly lying.”
“So what you told the doctor was true? You’re my uncle?”
“You’ve been listening in that long, huh?”
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
The way Kitagwa’s glaring at him, Zenkichi feels a pang of nostalgia. Honestly, it’s been so long, he even misses Tsuru being mad at him. “I wanted to tell you, I just didn’t know the right time. It’s not like I can just walk up to someone I’m investigating and say ‘hey, I’m your long lost uncle!’”
“Are we still just people you’re investigating at this point?”
“Well…”
Kitagawa’s frown gets deeper. “Fine. Did you know my mother died? Why did you never come to pay your respects?”
“That’s… I didn’t think she’d want me there. Or to have anything to do with you,” Zenkichi says.
“Then tell me why. I think you owe me that, at least.”
Zenkichi takes a deep breath. “Yeah, you’re right.”
Eighteen years ago…
Zenkichi hasn’t slept in weeks. If he’s right, he’s tracked Tsuru to Tokyo of all places. Supposedly someone’s seen her working at this ramen shop, so Zenkichi settles in to a seat by the door, and waits all day.
His tab is pretty expensive by the time Tsuru shows up, slipping in discreetly by the back and relieving a stressed-out high school student. She goes to talk with the owner and locks eyes with Zenkichi.
They stare at each other across the shop for a second, before Tsuru whispers something quickly to the owner, clearly apologizing, then heads over to Zenkichi.
“Let’s go outside,” she says, and Zenkichi lets her lead the way out.
They go around back, and the second they’re out of sight of any cameras, Zenkichi pulls her into a hug.
“Are you ok? You’re not hurt, are you?”
Tsuru blinks at him. “W-wow, I thought you’d open with yelling.”
“Who’s behind this? The owner?”
“W-what? No, behind what?”
“Who kidnapped you?”
Tsuru groans. “Oh, ok is that how Mom’s dealing with it? Of course not, it’s never her fault.”
“Tsuru, Mom’s dead.”
Tsuru’s face goes pale. “W-what? W-what happened?”
“Blunt force trauma to the back of the head, what do you mean ‘that’s how she’s dealing with it?’”
“I wasn’t kidnapped,” Tsuru says. “I ran away.”
Zenkichi feels his eye twitch. “What?”
“I ran away.”
“What do you mean you ran away?”
“I couldn’t stay in that house anymore, so I ran away.”
“On your own?! Tsuru, do you know how worried I’ve been?! Of all the stupid little—”
“Stupid?! Are you kidding me, I tried to tell you so many times, but you never believed me?”
“What about the canvases then?”
“Mom broke them! She’s been breaking them for years when she’s mad at me!” Tsuru snaps. “And I could never bear to throw them out, so I kept them and left them in my room so she’d remember why I left!”
“I thought someone had broken into your room because you felt like being dramatic?”
“Gah! This is why I didn’t talk to you!”
“Tsuru I haven’t slept in weeks trying to investigate your disappearance and mom’s death.” Suddenly Zenkichi stops, and he steps back from her. “...did you do it?”
“Do what?”
“Did you kill Mom?”
“What? Have you gone crazy?”
“You had a fight, you pushed her down the stairs, and then you panicked.”
“First of all, that’d have to be a pretty hefty shove, and as you’ll remember I can barely throw a ball 30cm. All my life it’s been ‘oh no Tsurur you’re too small for that, yu’re too weak for that, you can’t do that,’ but now you think I can shove someone with 30 pounds on me hard enough to send them down the stairs?!” Tsuru gasps. “Besides, If it was an accident I would have called you.”.
“You didn’t call me when you decided to run away to Tokyo!”
“Because you’d tell Mom, and it wouldn’t be safe for—” Tsuru clutches her stomach and looks away. “That’s different, ok?”
“Then maybe when you left you left the window open and someone broke in and killed Mom,” Zenkichi says. “Either way you still killed her.”
“That’s— that’s not true.”
“Come on, we’re going to the police station.” Zenkichi says, grabbing for her wrist, but Tsuru snaps it back.
“What? N-no, I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I’m betting you were hired under a fake name,” Zenkichi says. “You may have tampered with a crime scene.”
“I told you I didn’ kill Mom!”
“Well I can’t believe you now, can I?” Zenkichi says. “I thought you’d tell me about something like this, so how can I know you’re being honest with me now.”
“You’re not even working Mom’s case. They wouldn’t let you.”
“Oh so you want to call an officer and wait for a police car?”
“You’re just doing this because you’re mad at me!”
“No, I’m not, I’m acting as an officer of the law, and since you were the last one to see Mom alive, you’re a suspect, and should be interrogated.”
Tsuru looks down on the ground and mutters something.
“What was that?”
“...I hate you,” Tsuru says without raising her voice. “I’ve been so worried I was wrong not to trust you, and here you are proving my right. I hate you! I hate you so much!” Then she walks off.
“Where are you going?”
“To the police station, that’s what you wanted right? Then once they explain you’re ridiculous for thinking I could kill Mom, then I’ll decide if I ever want to talk to you again.”
Present
Yusuke doesn’t know how to feel after Inspector Hasegawa— should he call him Uncle?— finishes. He grasps for the first thought he can force into intelligible words.
“And after that?”
“I got chewed out for accessing information on a case I wasn’t working on to track down your mom, she showed her train ticket to prove she was already gone by mom’s ETD, and then she never spoke to me again,” Inspector Uncle Hasegawa says.
“Were you still angry with her?”
“I held out for a year being stubborn. Then I didn’t know how to talk to her.”
“Did you know about me? Did you know she’d died?”
“Yes. It’s not like I was stalking her or anything, but I… kept tabs on her. When she died, I’d heard you were living with a family friend, so I figured that’d be better for everyone.”
Yusuke would be lying if he said he didn’t see Hasegawa’s side of things. It’s not like he’d know what to say.
But another part of him is stewing in an ice cold rage. Madarame had always said he should be grateful, that Yusuke had no other family who would want to take him in. Was that just another lie or an accidental truth considering his uncle had never even tried to reach out to him after his mother’s death.
His mother’s death stands out as the one sharp point of the haze of his early childhood, and he remembers it being just him, Madarame, and a few other mourners. If Hasegawa had been there, he never spoke to Yusuke.
Though, given the look on Hasegawa’s face, now’s not the time to go into that.
So Yusuke swallows his rage. “Can you send the doctor in? I suppose I need to give her my medical information.”
“Oh, sure, of course. I’ll go tell your friends everything.”
Inspector Uncle Hasegawa gets up, and something in his bearing makes Yusuke feels as though he’s only added to the weight the man has been carrying all these years.

Chapter 5
Tumblr media
(Part 5)
Maya's POV
We continued walking down a tunnel of darkness until we reach the end. "Well.....what now?"
"I got it." He reaches out for something and pulls on it. The whole place lights up. It looks like a large room for electrical power or sum stuff. Aaron puts his bag down and his boombox. He pulls out a mixtape from his pocket and puts it in the stereo. He presses play. He started playing his rap mixtape as I start looking around.
"Maya, come over here."
He gets a bunch of spray paint from his massive bag. Theres all types of colours and shades. I approach him and he hands me a can. Pink
"What you want me to hold it for you?"
"Nah, paint somthin."
"I can't paint. I'm not an artist."
"I ain't no artist neither but I know how to paint. You know the graffiti down your street and behind the school?"
"Yeah."
"That was me."
Aint no way. That stuff was dope. A bunch of words in bubble writing. Skulls, ghosts and even the grim reaper. I had seen them with the initial A.D at the bottom corner. Now I know it was my boo the did that.
"You did that. That's dope. I didn't know. You have to teach me."
He chuckled for a bit. He came up behind me. Held the back of my hand that had the spray paint. He out his finger on top of mine to press the spray paint. We start of easy. A simple heart. It's cute.
I was getting more confident by the time. I was using different colours and spraying different shape while my mans was doing his own thing on the other side. I turn my head to look at him and he's so focused. He look hmmm..... you know... mmmmmm. He looks so good being concentrated. I look at my work and its hearts, flowers and stuff. I'm done so I just sit on a stool and watch him work.
“Like what you see?”
He notices that I’m staring. Staring hard.
“Yes I do.”
He slowly turns to face and approach me. I stay seated. Now I'm gradually looking up at him. He's a tall guy so his crotch area is provocatively close to my face. He gives me this look. I stand up but I'm not where near as tall as him. He still looks down at me. A soft touch comes across my cheek down to my chin. He leans down and presses a gentle kiss on my lips. Then another and another. I lift myself up on my tiptoes and wrap my arms around his neck. He completes the puzzle by wrapping his own around my waist. The room gets hot in a cozy way.
It escalates to his lips on my neck. He knows my weak points. I would've fallen if his strong arm didn't have a grip on me. My feet are off the floor now wrapped around him.
Then he stops. Both of us out of breath. We make eye contact.
"You know how I moved out and moved into my own place?"
I raise my eyebrow. "Mhmm."
"I want you to move in with me."
If I wasn't breathless before. I sure was now. He moved in a week ago. I would've hopped on his idea but....
"Are you sure, don't you think I should ask my parents first. You know it's gonna take a while before they actually allow me to, especially my dad. Besides, ain't it too soon. You just moved in."
"I asked for you and they gave me their permission. Although your dad did interrogate me and give me the eye but its cool. It's just a matter of you grabbing your stuff and being with me."
"OK!"
I squeal and hug him with so much force that he falls backwards. Words cannot express how ecstatic I am. Now I sit on top of him. I look up and take notice of his art work. It's a big colourful butterfly with my name in graffiti writing on top. I smile as I look down at him. He has this stupid grin on his face.
"You like it?"
"I love it."
"Lemme take some pictures."
He pulls out a Polaroid camera and takes some photos of our art work. The he turns to me while smiling. I ain't even know he had pointed at me. I catch him and smear pain on his face. He immediately retaliates and puts paint on me too. He sets it down and we take a selfie.
We admire it more then he packs up his stuff. Once he's done he calls me to go. He flicks off the light and then we leave the subway. We climb the stairs back to civilisation. I look at the sky in shock. The sun was rising. It looks around 4am.
"Aaron."
"Y-yeah."
"Imma kill you. I HAVE WORK IN 4 HOURS."

Chapter: 2 Let’s get ready to Go!
Soon Thursday came and the school bell rang for the students to go home as Timmy, Michelle, and Vernon were walking out the doors Timmy saw a big red pickup truck pulling up in front of them it was her Dad to pick them up Timmy excitedly called out “Dad~!” She loved her Dad's truck especially when they got to go on trips with it "Hey Timmy! Michelle, Vernon I called your folks they said that ya’ll pack yer things ready to go so we'll be going to pick up your bags and get them in the truck.'' surprising Vernon “O-oh! Thank you, Mister Turner…!” responded Michelle did the same “Thanks so much Mr. Turner!” she cheered as did Timmy “Awesome~!” They climbed inside the big red four-wheeler "OK y'all buckle up Michelle since you're closer we'll stop by your place first and then head to yours, Vernon." As he started up the vehicle and headed to Michelle's house Michelle was texting her ex-babysitter Laurence—as she calls him Larie—that she would be off to a trip with her friends. Timmy was very surprised when she learned about her friend's crush on her babysitter and when Michelle asked her about Vick it was a bit awkward for Timmy as it questioned her relationship with her ex-babysitter and left her a bit flustered when she thought about it, but the 12-year-old decided to leave the topic alone for time being as it was causing her hormones to act strange (I haven’t talked to Vick before….)Before he left for college and though she was relieved to finally be free of him there were times she thought about him and how despite him being a tyrant he had some sort of nice moments with him Timmy thought over if she should call… but the thought brushed off. Soon they pulled up to Michelle's house where her parents were already outside with her suitcases waving to her as she got out to get her things in the truck and hug her parents goodbye "Now is there anything that you need to get before you go?" Mr. Turner asked as he helped load the bags up in the truck Michelle looked over her things “Hmmm…! Nope, sir! It’s all good~!” Mr.Turner nodded “All right then we'll see y'all in 2 weeks!” He waved as Michelle gave her parents one more goodbye hug and kiss before getting back into the truck as they headed to Vernon's home Timmy noticed Vernon’s nervous self, concerned. So she decided to calmly ask him what was wrong “Vernon are you okay, are you just nervous about the trip?"Vernon looks at her “Ah… well, it’s just that… it’s my first time having a trip without my parents…or other cool kids. (that part he whispered without them hearing ) Mr.Turner looked at him in the window a light smile on his face "Don't worry about it Vernon you're going to have a great time on this trip and you'll love the ranch trust me son it's going to be an adventure a lifetime there's nothing to worry about ah’ite." He replied giving Vernon a smile with encouragement Timmy found it nice (the same kind of smile he gave to me) whenever she was feeling nervous about something Timmy remembered how stressed Vernon had been since Elementary School year… he has been obsessed with surpassing Tristan, he once had an eating disorder and brief hair loss. But ever since her godparents helped him out he's been distancing himself from the popular kids and becoming his own person he looked to be getting better now in 7th grade his weight and hair have gotten healthier and his self-esteem had risen giving him good self-confidence in himself into becoming a better person.
His valley boy accent replaced with his real Southern one, no longer dyed his hair blond as his hair is back to ash brown. And he stopped using blue eye contact lenses, revealing deep forest green eyes. Much to his mother’s disdain but his father was okay with it and even encouraged it. As she looked at Vernon from the mirror she could tell Vernon was smiling from her father's heartening words. And speaking of his parents, they arrived at Vernon’s house. It wasn’t as big as Tristan’s but still, it was fitting for people above the average class could live. Mr. Turner greeted them as he got out of the truck shook Mr. Star's hand and asked Vernon the same question "Now is there anything that you need to get before we go?" As he lifted the bags onto his shoulders and into the back with Michelle's before he could speak, his mother called out her son. Nervous, Vernon approached his mother Mrs. Star “Ye..yes mother?" Mrs. Vernon remained silent until she gave him a light hug as she spoke; “Be safe…” Mr.Turner reassured them “Don't worry y'all we'll make sure to call you as soon as we can get in Texas .'' that's when Vernon realized that whenever Mr. Turner was talking that he had a southern accent coming out but it wasn't Southern Californian accent it was Texan! He didn't know Mr. Turner had an accent as Timmy grabbed his hand “Come on, V~!” Mr. Star hugged his son “Have a wonderful trip, lil’ man!” And secretly nudged his son’s side as he whispered “And good luck with your dream gal~” Vernon blushed as he said goodbye to his parents Vernon got back in the truck and they headed out waving his parents goodbye as they were driving Mr. Turner decided to put on some music as a soothing country song started to play "All right y'all we got to head to the store so you kids can pick out some snacks for the trip we're going to try to make as little stops as possible only stopping for bathroom breaks so if you get hungry well have plenty of snacks and drinks in the cooler."
they pulled up to the store and found a parking spot " Plus we won't be cooking tonight we’ll be picking up some pizzas for dinner as a special treat.” Man Timmy’s dad is awesome as they both said Cool~! Once inside Mr. Turner grabbed a basket to get what they needed "I'm going to go get some cases of water and a few other things you kids go together and pick out the snacks you want to bring and meet me at check out in 30 minutes okay .?" All nodded as they planned on what snacks they could get. Timmy’s gerbil hoped to have more nuts, grains and fruits to stuff himself. He tugged on her shirt getting her attention pointing to a bag of honey-roasted pecans asking if they could get some along with a bag of baked pumpkin seeds Timmy agreed “Aww, sure~ let’s get them!” Eddie squeaked in delight. Getting the two bags she also went to produce “Let me also get a bag of tangerines, a bag of Dil pickle chips and a small bottle case of fruit punch Gatorade” As she came back to see what Michelle and Vernon got Michelle got several cans of ginger ale soda and few bags of popcorns with diverse flavors from range of butter to caramel. Eddie's mouth watered as he developed a liking for popcorn ever since he became a human and got to try it when Timmy took him to see a movie theater once. Vernon got himself an orange ade with a bag of curly fries and with small ketchup case to dip with. Once they were sure that they got what they needed they headed to the checkout aisle where Mr. Turner was waiting for them in his basket were two cases of water bottles a big bag of pepper beef deer jerky along with a few stuff to make sandwiches "okay kids ya’ll go ahead and put your stuff in the basket once checked out we also need to get some gas cuz I just remembered that there's only half a tank in the truck so we'll need to fill up before we leave tomorrow." He hands the car keys to Timmy " Timmy you and your friends can go wait out in the truck while I'm waiting in line this might be a little bit can you do that for me, baby girl?" Timmy saluted “Sure thing, Dad!” Once they were at the truck Timmy got a call from her Mom “Hi Mom what is it?" Her Mother answered “Hello, sweetie! Did you get all your need?” “Yes, ma'am Dad is in check out and will be out in any minute now." “All right sweetie I'll see you when you get home okay love you” she commented "Love you too mom," When she hung up her Father arrived right on time as he put the groceries in the back of the trunk and tipped the carrier for helping carry out the bags and got in the truck “okay kids we got everything in while we're on our way to get some gas well go ahead and order at Miss Toni's so what kind of pizza will you guys wants?” Miss Toni's was a popular pizza place that made amazing traditional pizza as it had good prices you can get a large pizza for only $10 Timmy asks Michelle and Vernon about their orders “What would you two wanna have?” Michelle explained, “I'd like a margarita with bell peppers please.” Vernon “Ah… well… if it has a lot of cheese, it’s fine for me.” feeling a bit unsure.
Timmy reassured him “Don’t worry, it does have a lot of cheese~” Vernon smiled Timmy always knew what he liked “Okay Dad and for me a pepperoni please." Mr. Turner nodded as he called the pizza place and set an order for one margarita with bell peppers, one double cheese, and one classic pepperoni once that was settled they arrived at the gas station where Mr. Turner filled up the tank and bought a second gallon for the road once fueled up they headed to the pizza place where their orders were ready for them and since Mr. Turner is really good friends with the owner gave them some free soda pops, as they headed home where Mrs. Turner was waiting for them with the rest of the bags to put in the truck by then it was already 7:00 in the evening "alright me your Father and I are going to go ahead and load up the truck so you and your friends can go ahead inside and eat we'll see you inside in a bit ." kissing her daughter on the head Timmy helped carry the pizzas inside while Michelle and Vernon got their bags for the night Timmy set the boxes on the table “Pizzas’ ready, guys~!” Getting out the paper plates the kids got their slices and sat in the living room to eat while they were eating Michelle and Vernon were curious to learn more about Timmy's grandparent’s ranch so Vernon asked “Say….. Timmy.. have you been to your grandparents' ranch before?” Timmy replied “Yes many times I grew up there as long as I can remember( heck she was almost born there if her Dad wasn't panicking and lost their car keys thankfully they got to the nearest hospital in time when her Dad was able to find his old motorcycle and get her Mom to the hospital ) I came there every summer and Holiday until I was 8-9 yrs old every day was an adventure there Vernon” he and Michelle “O-ohh…” in wonder as Timmy continued “there's also many places to explore and see, I can't wait to show you guys.” Watching her excitedly telling, Vernon's cheeks blush a little…Soon after Mr. and Mrs. Turner came into the living room with their plates smiling that the kids were having fun talking as their daughter told her friends more about the ranch, once everyone was done eating Mrs. Turner cleared her throat to get their attention " Kay kids now that we're all done eating we're going to have to go ahead and get ready for bed we got a long 23 hours tomorrow so have to turn in early as we’ll be getting up very early in the morning so go ahead throw those plates away head to the bathrooms to shower, teeth brushed and ready for bed we're all going to need a good night sleep ." Timmy suddenly got an idea “would it be okay if we can sleep in the living room tonight?" "Of course dear as long as you head to bed once you've settled in.” Timmy gave a "Thanks~!" Michelle and Timmy went first to take showers and brushing their teeth, changed into their nightwear. Once done Vernon went next later the three of them were in the living room snuggled up in the sleeping bags and pillows it was 8:30 now and they were already tired as Mrs.Turner turned off the light wishing them a good night " Have a good night kids sleep well." She said quietly as she went upstairs to get ready for bed and Eddie went over to curl up against Timmy as Vernon and Michelle had already fallen asleep "Good night Eddie sweet dreams my sweet little gerbil." She whispered giving Eddie a tiny little kiss as she drifted off to sleep Eddie smiled as he slept, dreaming of the paradise field of grains and other foods.

I was talking to some friends from the neighbourhood (we always walk our dogs together- have done for a LONG time) about me having to move soon and how i don't have a clue what to do/where to start because i've only ever lived in this house.
and how it's SO MUCH work to clear out this house and figure out what to keep and what to throw away and how it's such short notice (they're saying I could move in April 8th). And I have to do it all on my own.
"Well you should have started sooner. You knew it was coming."
My sanity has been hanging by a THREAD the past six and a half months - and that thread is getting thinner by the day. I started packing/sorting stuff the day I was supposed to leave this house - about 2/3 weeks ago - but EVERYTHING has memories attached to it. I have to pack up/process/get rid of (parts of) a whole LIFE in a little over a month. and every day I find things that I know meant a lot to my parents but I don't know what to do with.
Do I keep my mum's baby photos? My dad's highschool/secondary school diploma? My dad's French comics? books by my mum's favourite author?
There's no-one I can talk these things through with because I don't have siblings and my cousins from my mum's side are too busy with their own shit and I'm only just kind of reconnecting with my dad's side of the family.
I gave away my mum's plants yesterday (to someone who was really happy with them) that she was always telling me she'd had since before I was born, I threw out a cabinet that I'd written I ♥ Westlife on the back of when I was 16, I found a fuckton of cassette tapes that my dad has recorded classical arabic music onto. SO many pictures of people I don't recognise but must be related to me somehow or their picture wouldn't be in my house.
Everything is just so fucking overwhelming and I just want to switch OFF for a day and reblog cat pictures and read fics and not think about *everything* and then there's that woman telling me i should have started sooner when I'm barely holding it together!
(and legally I couldn't until the inheritance was sorted - I still don't know if everything is ok now)

Ok so This is a hurt/no comfort or hurt/little comfort Angel is AFAB.
My head came up with this will all the stuff with Row V Wade being overturned in America. If you don’t know about it or what it is. Row V Wade gave everyone with a uterus the right to an abortion as well as the right to privacy. There is more and I am not going to go into it heat but now it is up to each state wether or not abortion should be legal or not. A lot of states have all ready banned all abortions and are in the process of setting up laws so someone cannot go out into another state where it is legal to get one.
Now that you know that let me also say: David is dead, wether that be from the inversion or something is up for you to decide. Or if you want something else,David was forced to leave and wasn’t able to go back to Angel intel it was to late. But I like David standing beside Angel as they cry on call well he’s not able to do anything to comfort them. :) Angels memory wasn’t wiped because of their relationships with the pack. However no magic can be used on them. Angel keeps calling David’s phone and leavening long messages as if they are just talking to him. These are some of the calls Angel made to him.
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy. You’ll uh never guess what, I wanted to tell you in person but sense your out right now and I don’t want to wait anymore- I’m pregnant! It’s yours of course, though I’m sure you don’t doubt that. Heh. Ash is stoping by tomorrow and I’m gonna tell him then. How have you been my love? I hope you have been having a nice trip. I’m going to head to bed for now, I’ll call tomorrow. Love you Davy, wish you where here for me to cuddle up to. Goodnight.”
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy, Ash stoped by today. I told him the news, he uh,he he hugged me for a wile it was nice. Wish you could hug me, I know you’ll be back soon. Umm I wanna start coming up with baby names. What do you think? I’ll let you sit on that tonight, I love you Davy, sleep well wolfy “
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy. I have an appointment set up for later, sorry I’m calling a bit earlier that usual, I’m just really nervous. So umm I’m gonna make that sausage dish thing you taught me. I even bought the blocked cheese. So I’m gonna do that, and stay on call so you can hear me struggle to do meanel tasks like shredding chess hahaha. —————————— ok! It’s in the oven! HAH Told you I could do it! ——————— Ok it’s all done! Lemme pull it out! —————— hmm dosent taste ass with out shredding the chess, I swear you have magic hands! Hahahaha you so owe me this meal when yo get back I hope you know that! ————— ok I have everything I need for the appointment- oh shit wait let’s give me a second Davy! —— ok got ‘em! Let’s go! ——— ok so I’m at the Hospital now, Ash and his mate are gonna get here in a minute so I’ll call you back after, love you Davy!”
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy! Just got back from the hospital, everything’s all good! The baby’s healthy and its hooks go well I’m gonna take a shower and go to bed, I love you Davy good night”
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy! How are you feeling? I’m a lot more tired lately,I think it’s the whole making a baby thing, heh. Ether way I wish you where here, I wanted to talk about baby names! So if it’s a girl I was thinking Angela or Alice, and if it’s a boy I was thinking naming it after you or your dad! What do you think?………I love you Davy, I wish you where here-.” Angel passed out
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy! Found out the gender today! It’s a boy!!! I’m so excited!! Ash Sam and Marie are the only ones who know as of now,not including us of course ha,
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay Davy, I’ve been feeling really bad lately- I’ve been in so much pain. I have an appointment set up, I’m scared Davy- I really wish you where here-“
“You’ve reached David Shaws inbox please leave a message I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.”
“Hay-hay Davy. Really bad news-I- I don’t know what happened- I I didn’t do anything I promise baby- but the- I can’t-he gone-I -
Ok have this! Ima add what I was thinking here
Angel is sobbing as they try to tell David that the baby died in the womb, they are absolutely heartbroken
The next call is them telling him that they can’t get the all ready dead fetus removed because of laws and things. They are scared and once again wishes he where there with them
Angel is once again crying, begging him to come back, to come back to them and help them. That their scared and that they think they are going to die
Angel tells him that they can’t get save themselves and remove the fetus even with magic for some reason that they couldn’t understand or listen to.
Angel is sobbing begging for him to come back
Angel tells him that they have to carry to term despite knowing the baby is all ready dead and they will most likely die as well
Angel is scared and is ranting to David about how hospital staff is treating them. And about how they tried to take their stuff animal(it’s a fic reference that they have a small wolf plushy that kinda looks like David’s wolf form) his leather jacket and their phone away for some reason
Angel is crying as they can’t even leave the hospital because of their heath and law. Because “they might try to get an abortion” Sam ash Darlin Milo babe and sweetheart are all trying to help the best they can, the rest of the pack as well.
Angel has him on call right before they have to deliver but never gets to hang up or say goodbye.
Angel dosent make it, they get buried with David.

Sunshine and Pine
Chapter Eleven: Protectors
Tumblr media
You'd think at this speed the trees would be reduced to streaks of green. But not to the supernatural creatures that speed through this forest. I see every detail the whole run to the Cullens house. Once I'd shifted my mind had connected with Leah's and after a brief bout of cursing my mother on my behalf, she'd thought of Esme. There's no way I'd be able to afford a plane ticket to Italy. And while I could run and swim there, who knows how long that would take. I didn't know how long ago my mom had taken my dad, and I didn't want to add anymore time that I needed to. So I took off in the direction of the Cullens house, Paul and Leah hot on my heels.
Esme, Carlisle and Edward are already standing outside when we break through the treeline.
"Seth called us while you were running here. We hope this is enough. Anything we can do to help." Carlisle says, gesturing to the duffle bag in Esme's hands.
With Edward there to riffle through my head, he translates my thoughts out loud for them to hear.
"Thank you. Please know I plan to repay you when I can. "
Esme starts walking towards us. "Oh no! Please take it. We want to help you save your family, as you helped us save ours. There are already plane tickets for you in this front zipper. For the earliest flight we could find. It leaves soon, you should leave now if you're going to make it." Esme slips the strap of the bag into my mouth.
"I don't know what to say... Thank you." The sight of Esme standing several feet below me grows misty with the height of my emotion.
She reaches her hand out to rest on my cheek. "Go. Quickly now." And with one last nod of my head, I turn back into the forest.
------------------------------------
I can't believe the thought that Esme put into packing this bag. There's a change of clothes for all three of us, toiletries, and an absurd amount of cash. I hug it close to my chest while Paul weaves his way through the traffic outside the airport in Italy. I can see the silhouette of Volterra in the distance. This is the farthest I've ever traveled in my life, and the tension of the situation had me fidgeting in my seat the entire trip. I've barely said a word, and I can feel that it's driving Paul into madness. He keeps glancing over at me like I might explode at any minute, and honestly sometimes it feels like I might. Putting three freaked out werewolves in a pressurized container in the sky might not have been the best idea in retrospect.
"Ok Lucy, maybe we should start talking about a plan." Leah pipes up from the back seat, breaking the tense silence.
"Well my mom picked up my letter from a PO box. I have the address. I figure we'd follow her scent from there. I hadn't thought much past showing up at her door after that." My voice was just loud enough for them to hear.
"Oh perfect. I'm sure we'll just ring the doorbell and she'll let us right in, hand over your dad and off we go!" Leah quips.
"I don't want you guys to come with me. I won't let you walk into danger like that." I say, whipping my head around to Leah.
Paul lets out a growl. "Not a damn chance Lucy. I don't leave your side."
"You think we flew all the way out here with you to take in the sites? Get your head out of your ass. We love you, and we love your dad and we're going to get him and all go home together." Leah is almost shouting.
I reach one hand out to rest on Paul's leg, and throw the other back to grab Leah's hand on my shoulder, giving them a squeeze to let them know I hear them.
--------------------------
The sickly sweet smell of vampires runs in different tracks all over these damn streets. We were able to pick up my moms scent at the address she left in her first letter. But keeping it the whole way proves a difficult task. There are an insane number of different vampire scents weaving together through this city. None of these people have a clue the horror show they spend their lives in. I'm convinced I've lost my moms scent in the cloud of vampire stink, when a gust of wind blows the scent of my father into my brain. My back goes straight in anticipation and I tip my chin towards it as a cue for Paul and Leah to follow me.
We follow a winding path through the city, to a small house tucked away on the outskirts. The scents of my mom and dad mingle together all the way up the cobblestone walkway to the door. Paul is whispering at me to slow down and take a second to think about this, but I'm already turning the doorknob and bursting in. Any thoughts of stealth I'd had vanished at about hour three of our journey. The need to see my dad with color in his face, heart beating was too powerful for anything but brute force. I can hear the thud of a heart and hope and pray that it's his. The sight I'm greeted with when I turn the corner brings me relief and dread all together.
"Lucy, you made it after all." My mother's voice rings out. Just like Rosalie's beauty, my moms voice puts me on edge, like the honeysweet trap it is.
My father is sitting on the couch, eyes glossed over. Whatever trance my mother's put him in seems to be affecting him a lot more than it had done to me.
"What'd you spike his coffee with?" I spit at my mother.
"You should be careful how you talk to me, Lucy. One of these days that sharp tongue is going to get you into trouble you can't get out of." Her eyes become hard at my snarkiness. But she turns her gaze to my dad and keeps talking. "My gifts affect humans much more than they do supernatural beings. The mind of a human is weak, malleable, defenseless."
"Is this really what you wanted? What, you thought you'd brainwash us both and play house with your practically comatose family?" I snap.
"What I want is to keep my family where I can protect them. There are dangers coming that you couldn't even begin to comprehend."
I can't help the laugh that bubbles out of my mouth. "Really? Dangers? Dangers that might kidnap you and take you across the world against your will... poison your mind so it's not your own... You see what I'm getting at?"
"You have no idea what is to come, Lucy. I needed you both here where I could keep you safe. My power is unmatched. My mind is capable of amazing things"
The cautious tone in her voice makes me wonder what she knows that we don't. But the pure arrogance that follows brings a rage burning in my chest.
I move to step closer, but Paul's hand cinches down on my own while Leah's arm simultaneously flies across my chest like a mom in a car.
"In case I haven't made myself clear, we don't need your protection. You're the biggest danger in our lives right now. I'm not sure how you think bringing my human dad to this city is safer than Forks. I can barely breathe with all the vampire fumes in the air. It fucking reaks of leech."
My mom hisses beneath her breath at the insult, which brings out a protective growl from Paul.
"Because I am in control here. I am a high ranking member of the Volturi guard. Aro and Caius trust me. Forks is not the safe haven you believe it to be. You needed protection." My mom still seems to be hissing, her words are so sharp.
"Lucy has protectors." Paul snaps, he's clearly teetering on the edge of control and rampage.
"Ah, the boyfriend. The one who took my Lucy from me."
"Excuse me, nobody took me from anybody. You left me long before Paul came around." I glare at my mother.
Leah, who'd been quietly observing, assessing the situation, couldn't hold her tongue anymore.
"What happened to you? You aren't the Aunt I knew."
The briefest flicker of sadness flashes across my mother's face, but it's quickly replaced by a stone face. "A lot happened in the beginning of this life to make me this way. I'll spare you the details. The Volturi pulled me out of a very dark place, gave me a purpose."
Any sign of weakness she'd shown was long gone.
"So you're going to keep Uncle Joel here, paralyzed... for how long?" Leah asks.
"Oh, no no. I'm going to teach him to defend himself. I just needed to get him here because it's the safest place to do it."
"What do you mean?" Paul says. But I think I might know what she means, and my heart is in my throat.
"Well I can defend myself. Lucy is supernatural, she seems to be able to handle danger. But Joel is just a fragile human. That's no way to make it through this world. He'd want this." My moms words send a shiver down my spine.
"Don't you fuckin dare." My voice is dripping with venom.
"He'd want this? Really? Did you ask him before brainwashing him?" Leah is just as angry as me.
"Nobody asked me, but I'm quite content in this life." My mother says with a smirk. "I was just about to do it when you came bursting through my door. Which, by the way, I raised you better than that." She takes slow steps towards my father.
"Stop." Is all I can get out. My entire body is trembling so hard, my hair is starting to come loose from my ponytail. Her hand reaches out towards my dad at lightning speed and I lose it, my wolf exploding out. I lunge the last few steps towards her, throwing my muzzle at her and knocking her as far back as the room allows. At a blinding speed, she's twisting and twirling around trying to get past me. I hear Paul and Leah shift from somewhere behind me as well.
Leah plants herself in front of my dad. And Paul flanks my mother, snapping at her.
Before I can react she's staring into my eyes and I feel a familiar pull. But we've done this dance before. I know what to expect. Instead of letting her pull me into her mind, I focus on the beating hearts around me. The soft thudding of the three hearts of the most important people in my life. And I'm able to keep my mother at bay long enough for Paul to crash into her, knocking her to the ground.
She clearly spent most of her time training with her gift. Her game was mental, from a distance. The Volturi had some strong offensive players, they probably never even thought to teach her to fight like this. She'd been so focused on overpowering me with her gift, she hadn't thought to keep her guard up to the other physical threats around her.
My mother's voice is slightly strained from the weight of Paul's foot on her chest. "Lucy, it has to be this way. He knows about us. It's our only law. Aro will kill him."
All three of us are growling at her now, deafeningly loud.
My mother snarls and uses all of her strength to wiggle loose from Paul's grip. She manages to wiggle free and fake Paul out to slip past him. She's in the air jumping past me, and I launch myself at her, snapping my jaw around her leg. Leah leaps forward to lock her teeth into my mother's shoulder. The deafening sound of screeching metal rings in my ears as the two of us come down on the ground hard, and watch as each piece of my mother comes down beside us.

Fazbear Fears #5: Sydnee's Unlucky Day
...Science has served Sydnee well her whole life, but a strange encounter will leave her superstitious- if she survives it…
Tumblr media
The ringing doorbell echoed through the house. From her room, Sydnee smiled. Lauren was here.
She quickly dashed out of her room, keeping a firm hold on her messenger bag full of textbooks and homework. Her mom had already opened the door to see who it was. “Ah, Lauren! How are you, dear?”
“Hi, Mrs Tanaka!” Lauren smiled, exposing her braces. She, like Sydnee, was 15, and was one of the only kids in their grade to still have them. It was just one of the things that made her easy to recognize, like her short curly blonde hair or her insistence on wearing combat boots all the time.
Sydnee walked up and casually grabbed her shoulder. “Hey, Lauren. No time to stick around- we have a test to study for, right?”
Sydnee’s mom frowned. “I still don’t see why you girls have to do it at the park. That place is way too close to the abandoned warehouses downtown. You know lots of kyōaku-han hang out there.”
 Lauren awkwardly glanced at Sydnee.
 “Thugs...” Sydnee whispered.
“Why don’t you just study here?” Sydnee’s mom asked. “We’re having tempura and udon for dinner!”
Sydnee hugged her mom. “Thanks, Mama. But there are just some things that are easier to do at the park.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Kissing, for example.
Sure, there were some drawbacks. There was always the risk of being hit by a soccer ball from the mob of kids that played every day. Sometimes there were geese that would fly in and take the park over. And sometimes, yes, people did give awkward looks, and sometimes say rather cruel things to them. Still, Sydnee and Lauren sat on that bench overlooking the small pond, and smooched.
Eventually, they pulled away, though not for a while. It had been a while since they had been able to kiss.
Lauren sighed contentedly. “It’s nice whenever we don’t have to pretend that we’re just friends, cutie. We should do it more often.”
Sydnee blushed at the first sentence and raised an eyebrow at the second. “I thought you said you’d shut up about it for now.”
“Well, I guess I lied. If we just told your parents about us- about you- we wouldn’t have to hide anymore. You’ve admitted yourself that they’re the only reason we’re keeping this whole thing secret.”
Sydnee shrugged. “I’m just not sure how they’d react.”
“I thought my dad would push back, but he was pretty ok with it.” Lauren smiled. “Your parents are really cool. I know they’ll accept you.”
 “I will soon.” Sydnee promised.
“You said that when we first got together six months ago.”
“Which, on the geological time scale, is nothing.”
Lauren gave her a strange look. “Is that your idea of a good comeback?”
“No, it serves as an opening for us to start studying.” Sydnee grinned.
“What?” Lauren groaned. “I thought this was a date, not a study session.”
“It’s both. We have that big test next week, remember?” Sydnee responded, pulling her textbook out of her bag. “Besides, you know I love science. Maybe this is my ideal romantic outing.”
Lauren groaned jokingly. “Such is my love for you that I will endure, nerd girl.”
 “Whatever, jock.”
And so they studied. Lauren quizzed Sydnee on questions both knew that she could easily answer, Sydnee explained to Lauren what the lithosphere was, and they both fed the ducks stale bread Lauren found in her backpack.
 It was perfect.
 So naturally, it was interrupted.
Sydnee saw a familiar face in the distance.
 “Crap…” she muttered.
About a quarter of a mile away walked a small group of boys ages seven to ten, holding kites and chattering excitedly. One led the group- Sydnee’s little 8 year old brother Kai. The group hadn’t seen them yet, but they would soon.
“Study time’s over, Lauren, we gotta hoof it!” Sydnee said, frantically packing her school stuff back into her bag as she got up.
“Wait, why- hey, isn’t that your brother? What’s the worry?”
“I promised Mama I wouldn’t sit this close to the warehouses yesterday. We had to come here since less people go to this area of the park. He’s a little blabbermouth. He’ll tell my parents, and they might find out the whole truth. I’m just not ready!”
Lauren raised an eyebrow. “You’re quite the pessimist.”
“I’m prepared for the worst case scenario. C’mon, let’s get out of here!”
The pair ran across the park, eventually reaching the far end. Kai and his friends still advanced, not stopping for anything.
“They’re probably coming to fly their kites in this field.” Lauren said. “Let’s just act casual. We don’t have anywhere else to run to, anyway.”
Sydnee stopped and looked around frantically. Her eyes caught on something.
 “Yeah we do! There!”
Lauren turned to see where Sydnee was pointing, and her jaw dropped.
 “There!? Into that warehouse!?”
“It’s our only option.” Sydnee argued.
 “But-”
 “Please, Lauren. For me.”
 “Fine.”
They dashed across the street, and into the decrepit old building.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Honestly, Sydnee was kind of disappointed.
Not that she’d hoped to run into a long abandoned warehouse during her date. But if she had to, she’d prefer it if it went all the way- broken, rusted machinery, stringy cobwebs, utter darkness- in general, a better atmosphere.
Instead, the place was in relatively good condition, assuming that it had been left to rot as long as the other buildings. The machines weren’t damaged, just powered down. Even stranger, there wasn’t any graffiti inside, despite how much there had been on the building’s outside (and on all the others). Though the sun was starting to set, there was still a good deal of light pouring in. Overall, kind of a disappointment on the spook front.
Lauren seemed to be relieved, though. “This place isn’t nearly as bad as I thought it’d be.”
She turned to Sydnee. “So, how long are we staying in here?”
“I think there’s another exit that borders on the road back home.” Sydnee recalled. “Kai won’t be able to see. I’m meant to be back within half an hour anyway.”
“It’ll be a while before we can go on another date.” Lauren said wistfully. She gave Sydnee a look. “All this secret keeping- it’s just hurting all of us.”
An awkward silence filled the warehouse. Sydnee coughed. “Let’s just focus on getting out of here.”
As they walked through the building, it began to dawn on both that the building was still kind of creepy. It being so undamaged, clean and lit made it seem like there should be people there, hauling boxes and driving forklifts. Now it felt empty and far too quiet.
“What kind of stuff do you think came through here?” Lauren asked, trying to break the silence.
“Who knows? Lots of stuff, probably.” Sydnee shrugged. Then she saw something odd.
Between two tall shelves sat a large, industrial size cardboard box. There was a huge logo emblazoned on its side: a smiling robotic bear’s head, with the words Fazbear Entertainment wrapping around it.
“Oh!” Sydnee exclaimed, satisfied at Lauren’s question being answered. “This was a Fazbear Entertainment Distribution Center.”
Lauren suddenly looked much more nervous. “You mean the company with all those dead-eyed robots!?”
Sydnee ignored her, and got a closer look inside the box.
There was only one item in it: a smaller cardboard box with a clear plastic window, like a Barbie doll would be packaged in. But rather than an irrationally skinny blonde woman, there was a robotic black cat.
It was constructed of shiny plastic, with all sorts of little decorations: stiff wire whiskers, articulated ears, and green LEDs in its eyes.
It was a little too realistic, though. Sydnee had never heard of an uncanny valley effect for an animal, but this creepy little thing fit the bill.
“Don’t worry, sweetie.” Sydnee laughed. “Looks like they made toys here, not full sized animatronics.”
She handed the small box off to Lauren, who turned it over in her hands, and began to calm again. “Well, it’s still slightly horrifying, but I could probably take this thing.”
Lauren began to read from the back of the box. “Following 1985’s successful Fetch™ model comes another Fazbear Entertainment toy sure to knock your socks off. Blake the Black Cat™ will serve as a great robotic companion to any kid, especially around Halloween. Just be careful of bad luck!”
Lauren chuckled, expecting Sydnee to laugh along. But Sydnee seemed a bit annoyed.
Lauren casually tossed the small box back into the big box. “Hey, is something wrong?”
 “What, no, it’s fine. It’s just...it’s fine.”
Sydnee looked around, and gasped in relief.
 “There we go.”
Even though it wasn’t lit, the red glass in the exit sign made it easy to find.
The door had been barricaded from the inside with a few cinder blocks, but Lauren cleared them away with ease.
“So…” Lauren said hesitantly as they left the building. “See you later?”
Sydnee pecked her on the cheek. “Yeah.”
They each headed off to their houses.
 The warehouse was silent.
 But not for long.
Soon enough the sound of ripping cardboard echoed through the empty building.
 And a monster broke free.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 “Bad luck.”
Sydnee laughed to herself as she walked down the quiet street, though it was still irritating her.
If Sydnee’s experience with science had taught her anything, it’s that there are few things too far fetched to consider. A statement that seemed foolish now could be seen as concrete fact within the decade. As long as a hypothesis could be tested, it should be tested. Ghosts? Maybe. God? Worth considering. But superstitions?
They just felt so...superficial. So interchangeable. Clearly each served a product of their own cultures, with no consistency. Sydnee honestly couldn’t believe anyone still believed in them, though things like the message on the box might have something to do with it. That’s why it had annoyed her so much. Superstitions were so hammered into kids at a young age, some might grow up really believing a plant with an extra leaf or a broken mirror could change your destiny.
In fact, Sydnee was walking through a perfect example: 13th Street. An old family friend, Mr Cooper, has once owned an apartment block here with rent that was pretty reasonable for this city. But a lot less people had rented than he’d expected. Clearly fear of the unlucky number the street was named for had something to do with it.
Still, over the last year or so, the area had become a lot more populated. The older buildings had been torn down, and in place came modern apartments and quaint little shops.
Sydnee was happy to see it. Another example of logic triumphing over needless fear.
She heard creaking metal and looked to see a lamppost falling right towards her.
She screamed and dived out of the way.
The post crashed through the window of the Turn Up the Volumes Record/Book Store, sending glass flying into the store and cutting the new releases to ribbons.
Sydnee crashed to the ground. A streak of pain surged through her body as she felt her knees and hands get skinned against the rugged sidewalk.
With some effort, she pushed herself up. She stared in shock at the scene before her. Luckily the store seemed to be closed.
Her eyes fell on the lamppost’s base. A hunk of concrete had been pulled up with the pole. It was practically like the thing had yanked itself out of the ground. In the hole it left behind there was a black stain, with greenish lines carving through it that Sydnee could swear glowed if barely.
What on earth had just happened?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Five minutes late- of all the things to be lectured over.
Oh well. Better that than her parents learning she was hanging out so close to the warehouses- and, y’know, dating a girl.
A restless night followed. Her dreams were a landscape of inky black with glowing green veins forming a corrosive web. She would run across the nightmarish terrain, and see a way out, but an enormous shadowy figure appeared in her way, its viridescent slitted eyes gleaming with hatred. Every time Sydnee would wake up in a cold sweat, and every time she’d fall back asleep and the dream would repeat.
Normally Sydnee preferred to sleep in, but today she was relieved to see the sun rise over the horizon, though it was mostly obscured by heavy clouds.
Sydnee hauled herself out of bed and stumbled downstairs into the kitchen, catching the attention of her mother and brother, who were already eating. “Dear, did you sleep ok?” Sydnee’s mom asked, looking concerned at the dark circles under her eyes.
 “Yeah, I’m fine.” Sydnee yawned.
Kai laughed through his mouthful of Choco-Chomps and milk. “You look like a weird zombie.”
“Whatever.” Sydnee poured herself a bowl of the cereal. She couldn’t help but be wary as she ate. What if Kai had seen her, and was going to blurt it out any second?
She hastily ate her breakfast, and dashed upstairs to finish preparing for school. About twenty minutes later she came back down, grabbed her bag and was about to dash out the door when her dad stopped her.
“Just a minute, Sydnee-Chan.” He pointed outside, alerting Sydnee to the mist of rain that was beginning to fall outside.
“Oh, shoot. Thanks, Papa.” She reached for the coat rack, and grabbed her umbrella. It was brand new, purchased only a few days prior, and not yet used.
“Have a good day. Study hard.” Her father said, before walking back into his home office.
Sydnee walked outside, as the rain began to fall harder.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The monster watched, waiting for another chance.
It could wait a very long time.
It didn’t think it needed to, though.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sydnee closed her umbrella as she entered the school. She looked around the halls already crowded with rowdy high schoolers, scanning their faces for Lauren. Nothing. She sighed. Lauren’s homeroom was on the other side of the school, so she usually had to start getting there as soon as she arrived at the building. They didn’t share any other classes, so the only time they usually got to talk after school, and even then one of them or the other often had a place to be. Being with her had just been easier back in middle school.
From behind her, she felt a tap on the shoulder. She turned around quickly, and maybe a little startlingly, causing her friend Susan to step back. “Whoa, there, Sydnee. You seem a bit high strung today. Everything alright?”
“Wha- Oh, yeah. Just sort of a bad night of sleep.”
“Sorry about that.” Susan’s eye caught on Sydnee’s umbrella. “Wow! Girl, I love the pattern on that!”
Sydnee smiled tiredly. “Oh yeah, I think it looks really good. Here, I’ll give you a better look.”
“Allow me.” Susan snatched the umbrella and opened it up in front of herself, causing a dome of opaque nylon dotted with colorful triangles to burst out.
Susan admired it. “Nice, what store did you-”
From above her there came a cracking sound. Sydnee looked up just in time to see a chunk of the ceiling break loose, and hit Susan right on her shoulder, banging her head as well. The umbrella fell out of her hand, and tumbled to the ground at Sydnee’s feet.
Susan crumbled to the ground like a sack of bricks, as blood began to burst out of the raw wound dented into her head. Nearby students gasped, some gagging at the gory display.
Sydnee was frozen, unable to move from pure confusion and fear.
She managed to look at the ceiling chunk to see more of that green-black corrosion pulsating on it.
That green color...now that Sydnee was getting a better look, the shade looked familiar. It was the same color as…
No. The idea that these weird accidents had something to do with a toy black cat Sydnee had just stumbled was unacceptable. A theory too stupid to begin considering, as dumb as-
As dumb as the number 13, or an umbrella opened indoors, or a shadow-coated cat changing destiny? Sending a lamppost or a chunk of concrete tumbling down on an innocent person? Because those things had just happened.
All of these thoughts raced through Sydnee’s head as kids stared at Susan with panic, and teachers came out of their classrooms and began carrying her outside. One was on the phone, frantically calling 911.
Sydnee herself pulled out her phone, walking down the hall half in a daze.
She began texting: [Sydnee: Lauren, meet me at the warehouse tonight. I need to check on something].
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 9:00 PM. It was showtime.
From what Sydnee had heard, Susan was in stable condition. Good news, but Sydnee could hardly celebrate. If that cat was really behind all this, it was still out there, and it seemed to be after her. It would hurt more people she loved if she didn’t stop it.
The sound of her mom snoring echoed through the halls. Her parents were asleep after long days of work.
Sydnee pushed open her window and hopped out. Lucky she was on the first floor.
She began the trek to the warehouse, careful to plan a route that went around 13th Street.
Sydnee sighed. She couldn’t believe it’d come to this.
If she hadn’t been distracted, she might have noticed the shadowy figure following just behind her.
Lauren paced awkwardly in the warehouse, on guard for an animatronic ambush.
 She instead got a kiss.
“AGHH- oh, uh, hi Sydnee. How are you doing?”
Sydnee gave a tired grin. “A little better now.”
“Me too, sweetie. Sooo, why’d you call me to this probably not haunted warehouse? Did you forget a textbook here?”
Sydnee got serious. “No. I want to make sure of something. Just come with me.”
It took a bit, but eventually the pair found the large box at the center of the maze of shelves. Sydnee quickly looked inside.
The small box had been reduced to a mangle of clear plastic, tape, and cardboard. There were teeth and claw marks covering the whole thing.
Lauren laughed nervously as she picked up the destroyed box. “Is this some kind of weird prank, Sydnee? Cause it’s- it’s not funny.”
Sydnee stepped backwards, stunned. The idea had been in her head, that this thing was alive and roaming free, but seeing it missing from its box made it so much more real.
From behind them, someone yelled “HI!”
Panicked, Lauren threw the box as she turned. Luckily it was cardboard, so it bounced harmlessly off the head of Kai.
Sydnee gasped, then groaned. “Kai, what are you doing here?”
“I was getting a drink when I saw you go. Mama said we shouldn’t go out the window, or go out after they’re asleep. Why are you here?”
 “Why are you here?”
 “To ask why you’re here.”
“Well, you did, so you can leave now. See you, love you, don’t mention this to our parents, or else. Lauren, back me up here.”
 Silence.
 “Lauren?”
Sydnee looked at Lauren, annoyed. Lauren was petrified, staring upwards at the top of the shelves. Sydnee and Kai followed her horrified gaze.
There, sitting and watching from the high shelf, was Blake the Black Cat. Its eyes, once dim, now glowed with a fiery green light that looked not at all mechanical in origin. It made subtle movements with surprising grace. Scariest of all, it seemed to be grinning- as much as a cat of any kind could, anyway.
Rather than be angered at being noticed, the thing seemed happy, taking joy in the fear on the trio’s faces. It hissed in a way that sounded far too real- and leaped down towards them, jagged claws out.
Lauren broke out of her stupor to pull Sydnee out of the way, who in turn grabbed Kai’s hand, tugging him along as they started to run.
“The cat thing is alive!?” Lauren asked Sydnee, fear pervasive in her voice.
“Um, yeah.” Sydnee said as they rounded a corner. “I think it cursed me- and it somehow makes bad luck real! Bad things happened when I went on 13th Street and when Susan opened my umbrella in school, and it has to be to blame.”
Kai puffed out air, starting to get winded, though he still seemed very excited. “A real monster? That’s awesome!”
“I’d think the same way if it wasn’t trying to kill us!” Sydnee looked over her shoulder and saw no sign of it. “Maybe we lost…”
The cat raced around the corner and ran into the shelf. It wasn’t damaged, but the shelf was, with claw marks from Blake’s paw-first collision etched into the metal.
Quickly the three continued to run, as sounds of whirring and scurrying echoed from behind them.
Up ahead there stood a stepladder that went across the entire aisle. Lauren prepared to slide under it, but Sydnee stopped her. “No! Bad luck, remember? We have to go around it.”
Kai clumsily stepped over the bottom step, with Sydnee and Lauren crossing more gracefully. It still slowed them all down, though. The cat ran towards the ladder, but slowed down as well before leaping over.
Right in front of them, Sydnee spotted a set of stairs leading up to an elevated office. “C’mon, guys, up there!”
Sydnee, Lauren, and Kai dashed up the stairs. The metal door into the offices was open, so they ran inside. Lauren grabbed a nearby filing cabinet, and pushed it down in front of the door.
The door resonated when something slammed into it from the outside. There was an annoyed growl, and the sounds of claws scratching metal followed.
“Do you think it can scratch through the door?” Lauren looked at Sydnee nervously.
“Probably not.” Sydnee said, trying to convince herself as much as Lauren.
A earsplitting SHRIEK screamed out from the door as a small rift got cut into it. The cat stopped scratching for a moment and peered through. A greenish spotlight shot through the hole and focused right on Sydnee before the sound of tearing metal resumed.
“OK, maybe.” Sydnee set her head on a swivel and saw a door out of the room. She ran over to open it. To her dismay, all that lay behind it was a dirty bathroom that seemed to be the most ravaged place in the factory.
For the first time, Sydnee truly began to panic. “I- I don’t know what to do!” she cried, slumping against the wall. “If we fight it, it’ll cut us to pieces. Even if we escape from here, it’ll keep following me, giving me more bad luck!”
“Well maybe it’ll eventually get bad luck, too.” Kai offered.
Sydnee glared at him. “Don’t think that’s how it works, squirt. I’m the one who’s cursed, not it.”
Kai frowned. “But then why didn’t it go under the ladder?”
 “Wait, what?”
“Climbing over the ladder slowed us down. If the cat had just gone under, it could’ve caught up. But it didn’t. Maybe it’s vulnerable to bad luck too.”
Sydnee stared at him, surprised. Lauren chimed in next.
“Oh, yeah! And Sydnee, didn’t you say Susan was the one who opened the umbrella at school? If you’re the one who’s cursed, why would bad luck affect her?”
Sydnee tried to process this. “So...what you’re saying is it’s like...a radius around the cat? And it’s in it and could be affected too...I think you guys are right.”
Kai grinned. “Heck yeah we are!”
Sydnee smiled back and pulled both of them close. “We don’t have long, but I think I have a plan.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With a resonant shrieking noise the monster finished cutting a hole in the door. It slinked through and looked around the small room. There was a desk, some filing cabinets, and a long dead houseplant, but not the girl and her allies.
A foul odor ensnared the monster’s senses. It saw the entrance to the bathroom, which was open just a crack, allowing the sound of subdued, scared breathing to escape.
 She was there.
The monster snuck towards the door and poked its head through the door. The girl sat on the gross tiled floor, looking terrified as she saw its glowing eyes.
Glee filled the twisted monster’s mind. Easy prey.
With one agile leap it flew at her, claws out.
There was the sound of movement from behind, and the sight of movement from in front. Then, the monster saw the strangest thing: itself, flying right back at it.
That was the last thing it saw, as the shattering of glass ushered it into darkness.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Wow, Syd. I did not think you were capable of playing pathetic and defenseless.” Lauren said, as she tossed aside the frame of the mirror Blake had slammed into.
“I even impress myself sometimes. Great coordination getting that thing right in front of it.” She looked down at the cat. The grody old glass had been covered in that black-green corrosion. All of the shards had lodged into important places: head, joints, and those two creepy eyes, which had now gone dim. She chuckled. “Seven years of bad luck for you, jerk. Though it only took a couple seconds to finish you off.”
Lauren laughed. “C’mere, you!” She pulled Sydnee close and kissed her on the lips.
 It was perfect.
 So naturally, it was interrupted.
 “Kissing? Gross.” Kai groaned.
Sydnee turned with a start. Kai! He’d been hiding against the wall, and she’d forgotten he was here.
“Oh, uh, Kai! We were just…” she stopped. “You know what, whatever. Me and Lauren are in love, and we’ve been dating for months. Please, I'm begging you, for once in your life keep this quiet for now.”
Kai mused on this. “Ok. So you were kissing on your birthday sleepover? I was never sure.”
Sydnee and Lauren stared, stunned. “Wait…” Lauren said. “You saw us?”
“But that was at midnight.” Sydnee argued. “Everyone else had gone to bed- including you!”
“I was getting a drink of water when I heard you. You kiss loudly.”
“No, we don’t- wait, do we?” Sydnee looked at Lauren, who shrugged in response.
“But why didn’t you say something to Mama and Papa?” Sydnee asked.
“Just didn’t seem like my business.” Kai responded.
Sydnee smiled at him and ruffled his hair. “Thanks, my guy.”
She looked at Lauren. “Hey, you want to come to your house after school tomorrow?”
 “Why? To study.”
“No. Well, maybe, if there’s time. More importantly, I think I’m ready to tell my parents about us.”
 Lauren got excited. “Really!?”
“I think I’m ready- as long as I’ve got my girlfriend and little bro backing me up.”
“With you all the way, nerd girl.”
 “Me too!” said Kai.
“Well, with that settled, I think I’m ready to go home. Destroying demon robotic cats really takes it out of you.”
The trio walked out of the factory, back under the watch of the beautiful nighttime sky. Sydnee sighed contently with one hand in Lauren’s and the other one gripped by Kai.
 How lucky she was.

A Robin Story
Chapter 3. A Long Day
When I got to the orphanage no one was happy to see me, and I don't blame them.
They took me to the bedroom with everyone else, I lay on my new bed and didn't get much sleep. When I woke up they gave me a list of choices that were easy to do. When I finished all of my choices. The older kids got to have time to themselves. I wandered around the hallway. When I was walking I heard laughter. I looked all around me but no one was there. I didn't know what was going on, I didn't pay attention where I was walking and ran into someone. I looked up and I recognized their blonde hair and golden eyes, it was Sophie Omega. Sophie is one of those girls thinking there better than everyone else.
"Hi Sophia." I said with a fake smile on my face. "Oh hello rat." Sophie likes to call people names but rats, that was a new one. I got up and was going to leave so she wouldn't make things worse for me. "Hey rat, where are your little friend?" Sophie said. I just walked off without saying anything. A couple of minutes went by and we had play time, or recess as some people say. I stayed in a corner of the room away from everyone, Sophie came over, "hey rat." Sophie said with a smile, I got up and left the room I walked over near Mrs Crow office then someone walked out of the room. It wasn't Mrs Crow. We made eye contact. "Hello there" said the person who walked out of Mrs Crow office. "Hi." I said. Mrs Crow walks out of the office "oh don't pay any Attention to her Mr Wayne, she is nothing but trouble." Mrs Crow said. They walked over to where the children were playing. Mrs Crow Wasn't wrong I was nothing but trouble. I went back to the bedroom and lay down and tried to get some sleep. One of the caretakers walked into the room and told me to pack your stuff. I tried asking why but she didn't say why. I didn't have much, just my dad Wedding ring. I remember when Jun realized I had a real kr gold ring she wanted to sell it, walked with the caretaker and she walked me to Mrs Crow office. I opened the door, and there stood
Mr Wayne with a smile on his face and Mrs Crow with a Discuss look on her face.
"Alex, Mr Wayne Wanted you to be part of his family" said Mrs Crow. I didn't think this was real. It didn't make sense but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to seem ungrateful. "Thank you Mr Wayne." I said, trying to smile. We were about to leave until Sophie came running to me and hugged me. "I'm so glad you found a home to go to." Sophie said out loud. "See you soon rat." Sophie Whisper in my ear. She let go of me and we left the orphanage. We walked to a car with a person holding the car door open. "Thank you Alfred." Mr Wayne said and then he got in the car. My dad told me that saying please and thank you is the good thing to do so I thanked Alfred and got in the car.
Mr Wayne and I sat in silence for a minute until Mr Wayne asked what my hobbies were.
I told him I like painting. I painted a lot when I was little. Mr Wayne listened to me talk. I try not to say a lot because I know this wouldn't last for long. The car stopped at a house, a big house. I got out and walked to the door, Mr Wayne opened the door. Inside the house was dark until Mr Wayne turned on the lights. "Surprise!" a bunch of people yelled. There was a banner with the word Welcome home, two people holding an Inedible cake. One of the people holding the cake let go of the cake and ran Towards me. The cake fell Making mess. "Sorry Alfred." "It ok Master dick, I made a Spare cake In case this would have happened". Alfred said.
Alfred left and so did someone else Probably to clean up the mess.
Everyone started Bombarding me, and I didn't know what to do. All I wanted to do is to run away and get Jun out of prison and we can be the runways again, but knowing her she wouldn't let that happen.
Dick told everyone to not bombarded me and they should probably start Sitting the table since dinner was going to be ready shortly. Everyone agreed and left.
"Welcome home Alex." Mr Wayne said with a smile. "Let me show you to your room."
We walked up some stairs and took some turns then we got to my room.
Mr Wayne opened the door to my new room and it was nice. It looks better than an Abandoned warehouse. I thanked Mr Wayne Again. One of the boys walked down the hall and said dinner was ready. I went to wash my hands and walk down stairs to the Dining room where everyone was sitting. I sat down at the empty chair and started passing out food. It felt like thanksgiving. Mashed potato, State, Turkey, and many more. While they were passing the food around, everyone introduced themselves. There was Damien Wayne, Tim Drake, Jason Todd, Dick Grasyon, Steph Brown, Cassandra Cain, and Duke Thomas. They asked a lot of questions, Mostly ice break questions.
Everyone was really kind. It's been a while since I only had Jun Ask company. Most of the time she was in a mood, but here I didn't feel judged. I felt happy. Until Mr Wayne was finished eating, he got up and said there was some work needed to be done at Wayne Enterprise. He left the room and when Damien was finished and got up and left the room, and slowly did the other did everyone else. was left alone. I helped Alfred do the dishes afterward I went to my room to sleep. It took me 5 hours to finally sleep and in a long time I finally had a dream. In my dream I was in a dark room, I looked behind me and I saw my father. "This is your Destiny Daughter." He said. "Your mother tried to keep you away from me but now you're here and you can take on the family business." I didn't understand. "Family business? Dad, What family business?" I said to him, he had the smile of a crook. Destiny? The only destiny I have is to fail. "You'll find out very soon my child." He said as he walked backwards and faded into the darkness.
I looked around but all I could see was the darkness, until I heard a voice that sounded very Familiar she was Screaming in pain. It was Sophie who was slowly turning Into gold. I ran to her. "What happened?" I said in a panic. "This is your fault Robin, all of it!" Sophie said as she fully turned into gold. "What is going on?" I yelled out loud to the void. I looked at my hands and I had black gloves on. "Surprise!" A bunch of people yelled as I turned around. There was a banner Welcome Hero painted over Welcome home, Nightwing and Red Robin holding a cake with the word on it Welcome to the Batfamily young one. Nightwing who was holding the cake let go of the cake and ran Towards me. The cake fell Making mess. "Sorry Alfred." Nightwing said. "It ok Master dick, I made a Spare cake In case this would have happened again."Alfred said. I looked over to the right of me and saw Batman. "You have a lot to learn, young one but I know you'll get the hang of it." Batman said. "What's going on? I mean really I don't understand." They all looked at me like I was crazy and I don't blame them for that but I truly didn't understand. I heard a bird singing it Beautiful melody. I looked up and it was Gotham sky. I looked all around me. I was in Gotham. I looked up and saw the bird that was singing its song. There was one bird, then two, three, next thing you know it was Flock of birds all singing their Melody. I looked at one of the buildings and there was someone. there. I wasn't sure who it was but the person pointed at me and the flock of birds flew at me. I jumped out of bed falling to the ground. "What the heck." I said to myself I got up and went downstairs to get a cup of water. I walked to the kitchen and there was Duke. "Hey Alex, what are you doing?" Duke said
"I had a bad dream and couldn't go back to sleep." I said. "Do you want to talk about it?" As he sits down on the floor and gestures for me to sit next to him. I walked over to him and sat next to him. "In my dream my dad was there. He had the smile of a crook and he was telling me that my mother tried to keep me away from him and now that I'm here I can take on the family business." I said, trying not to cry. Duke looked at me with a sorry expression. "Sorry that you had to see your dad like that in your dream, same thing happened to me once in one of my dreams." Duke said. It was nice having to talk to someone. "The thing is there was something else in my dream." I said. "Oh like what?" Duke asked. "I was in Gotham city and I had like a superhero costume or something, and there was someone on top of a building. I couldn't see who it was but they were wearing all black. There were a flock of birds singing and as the person on the building pointed at me and the birds attacked me." I said with Tears running down my face. Duke hugged me. "It's going to be alright, I'm here, I'll keep you safe." Duke said as he let go. I didn't tell him about Sophie or the Batfamily because I didn't feel like I couldn't tell Duke about that or that I shouldn't trust him. Duke got up and told me good night. A minute went by and I got up and wandered around the mansion. There was a door cracked open with light coming out. I walked closer and heard Bruce Wayne and Dick talking. "When will we tell her?" Dick said. "When the time is right, a lot happened to her this week and we should put that kind of stress on her." Bruce said. "Did you tell Damien?" "Of course I told Damien he wasn't happy about it at first, and I don't blame him." Bruce said. I walked backwards and bumped into a table. I ran upstairs and went to my room and hid in the bathroom. "What's going on?" I said to myself. With the dream, my dad, Sophie, the birds, The Batman and the other heroes, and with my destiny. I try to stay come but with everything happening these past few days I was losing it. I didn't sleep. In the morning Bruce knocked on the door saying to get ready because today is big. I put on a blue t-shirt and some Gen. I busted my hair and teeth and went downstairs. I went to the Dining room where everyone was waiting for me, I sat on an empty chair. Everyone talked-about things they liked as I ate my pancake. I looked at Damien drgsom and he kept on giving a I will kill you look. "Alex, today we are going to go to the new school that I picked to meet your new teacher, you will start school in 2 weeks. I also have a meeting to attend which will take two hours. After that we will go to lunch with everyone and you get to pick where we will eat." Bruce said as he finished eating.
I got up from my chair to get a sketch book and a pencil so I would have something to do wall I with. We got in. The car drove to my new school. We walked in and met my homeroom teacher Miss honey. She had honey blonde hair and baby blue eyes. She wore a real ruby red necklace. "Nice necklace you got there." I said. "Oh thank you my husband gave it to me." Miss honey said. Miss honey covered the ruby red necklace, it was almost like she was hiding something. After meeting the last of the teachers. Then we got in the car and drove to Wayne Enterprise. We got in and Bruce showed me to his office and told me to stay here. He had to go to one of the meeting rooms to talk with some people. I sat down on one of the chairs and drew. 1 hour went by I think and I didn't know what to draw next so I decided to wander around the building. I walked around for 10 minutes until I heard birds chirping. I walked to the door from where it was coming from and opened it. Inside looked like a lad. In the corner there was a test tube and paper on the desk. In one of the corners was bird seeds with 9 birds in a cage. I walked closer to the cage and they were all Robin's. "You know it was hard to get thoughts right." I turned around and there stood a man who had brown hair and worn glasses. "Aren't they fascinating, no matter where they are they never shut up." The man said as he bangs one of the cage and the Robin in the cage starts quivering in fear. "I don't think we have met Professor Gears, I'm one of the Engineers but I am also a Scientist." He said With a grin on his face as he held out his hand. "Alex Wilson, Bruce Wayne's daughter, it's nice to meet you." I said as I sack his hand. His hands were cold, not ice cold but just cold. "Professor Gears, please tell me you haven't been feeding these Robin bird seeds; they eat Fruits and worms." I said, worried for these little guys. "Oh of course not that when I had jun she was juncos. She is no longer here but I think you know how things are." Professor Gears said. I didn't have anything to say. I walked over near the door to leave until something caught my eye. I picked up a paper and Professor's Gears snatched it out of my hands. "I think it's time for you to leave. Now!" His once happy personality turned to anger. I left the room and walked back to Bruce's office and sat down in one of the chairs. "You ready Alex?" Bruce said as he walked in the room. "Yea, sure."

Vacation
Two weeks after Flower Day, just a week before graduation, Willow got her scholarship letters. She was accepted in two! She's now considering leaving the Harris' garage and using the money to help her pay a small apartment for herself.
Tumblr media
Leo and Marcos were about to have their final exams, so they could barely see each other except in between classes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"My family will make a trip together this weekend. Wanna come?", asked Leo.
"Can't. My mom has some family stuff to sort out in another town and wants me along."
"I had an idea, but I need to wait for the pack release first. Did you know Summer 14th is Pride Day?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marcos was curious.
"Course I do! What's on your mind?"
"I heard San Sequoia has a great Pride Festival. My dad told me I can work with him and save money for the loading screens!"
"YES! I'm sure Dani will also love the idea. And Sid! And Ash! And Van! Let's invite everyone!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leo could barely listen to a word Mr. Morlind was saying... Soon classes would be over and he'd have a WHOLE week on vacation! He knew about someone else who would probably also love to hear about their Pride excursion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Mols said she'd love it. Her mom wanted to go skiing but she'd rather die by Vlad.
"She made me organize Career Day for extra credit and I need some fresh air. Just so you know, I signed you up."
"Well", replied Leo, "if that means you're coming, I can find some fun in that!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
When they got home, both Moe and Leo had great news! Leo has been promoted to Speedrunner and Moe got to her branch selection. She got a unique opportunity and ended up on her path to stardom again! It seems like it doesn't matter the universe, Moe is destined to fame.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Harrises landed in Lani St. Taz! They're staying the weekend at the Saphire Shores Resort.
"Won't this be too expensive, mom?"
"Baby, don't be silly...This isn't a real hotel, they don't exist in the game! We won't pay a thing, this is just a spa."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A well-deserved vacation... Being a legacy family ain't easy! Since they didn't pay for the stay, the family enjoyed the premises before having dinner.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's dinner time, and the Harrises went to the best (the only) restaurant in Sulani!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Thank you so much for this trip, guys! It's a great close to my High School Years!", said Willow.
"We're also celebrating Moe's promotion. She's famous now!" "
And Leo is ending his junior year!", Moe replied. "It's time you start thinking about your future, baby."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"To be honest, I don't know, mom. I've been working at the drama club, but Copperdale is too far away from Honeywood."
"We're not gonna live there forever, you know? Legacies are known for moving all around the SimNation."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You should trust your gut, Leo. I'm sure the Watcher will find a way of helping your dreams come true." Leo didn't have all this blind faith.
"How can the Watcher know what to do, when I can't?"
"They made us cross universes to save the legacy. You'll be good!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I hope you're right, mom. I have just a few weeks left before my gen takes over."
"Watcher surely have something in store for you. Just keep on going through Live Mode and soon I know things will become clearer!"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After dinner, Leo vanished. Moe found him at a fishing spot nearby. "Can I sit here?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"What if I'm not a good heir as you both? You had a Starlight Boulevard star, for woohoock sake! I don't think I can top that."
"Leo... You don't have to be like us. You're good just the way you are and doing the things you want to do. Legacy gens are different."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I acted, and I now work with social causes because that's what makes me happy; same with your dad and cooking", Moe reassured him.
"And what about the drama, and the interesting plots?"
"Oooh, 'The Drama'! Not every legacy will be as messy as a Swan or a Lacey. And that's ok."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moe gave her big baby a loving hug.
"Whatever your story is, you'll be loved and there will always be someone who enjoys your path. I promise."
Tumblr media
Next morning, after an... um... eventful night, Moe had news for the family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Breakfast by the sea, the perfect moment to break the news!
Tumblr media
"Family, we're having a spare Harris! The first legacy infant is due to fall!"
"Another one, thank you!"

Kelly- Moving In Together
Tumblr media
"Get out"
"Dad don't..."
"I said get out of my house. Pack your shit up and find a new place to live. I'm not having a daughter pregnant after a one night stand. Get out"
"Connor didn't kick off when I told him"
"Why am I not surprised" my dad throws his hands in the air "oh and your not working at the company anymore"
"What? How can you do this?"
"YN I won't say it again. Get out of my house"
"Clair?" I look at my little sister but she doesn't even look at me. I turn around and leave the house, breaking down in my car. I drive myself to the firehouse, a place I've been coming to a lot recently. Still with tears forming I walk into the firehouse
"YN? What's wrong?" Gabby asks coming over to me
"I need to speak Kelly"
"Ok, yeah he's in his office. Is everything ok?" at that I burst out into tears and Gabby wraps me up in her arms "come on let's go" Gabby walks me over to Kelly's office, his doors open so as soon as he sees me his stands up and takes Gabbys place guiding me into his office, and closing the door behind him
"What's wrong? Is everything ok with the baby?" Kelly asks panicking slightly
"I told my dad and Clair. He basically fired me and told me to get out of my house. Clair just sat there not saying anything. I'm pregnant and homeless. Fuck Kelly I can't do this, I can't..."
"Hey hey hey. First of all takes some deep breathes and calm down" I take a deep breath in and out "good. Ok now, you are not homeless because I asked you to move in with me and you never gave me an answer, so YN please move in with me" he begs
"Are you sure?"
"Wouldn't ask if I'm not"
"Ok. Ok. I'll move in with you" I nod my head
"Don't worry about money for now. Take a break from work for now, then when your read your going to go to the academy and your gonna become a firefight"
"Kelly as much as I appreciate your positive outlook, I think my school time has passed" I chuckle
"Whatever you want to do I'll support you"
"Are you sure your ok with me moving in?"
"Positive I'm not having my baby or the mother of my baby or the mother of my babies dog living on the streets. I got you I promise. I have another two hours on my shift. Go start packing and when I'm done I'll come over and help you take your things to mine"
"Thank you" Kelly then walks me to my car
"I'll see you later ok?"
"Ok" I get in and drive to my place to start packing.
Two hours pass before I even know it. My doorbell rings. I get up and open up my door to see not only Kelly but the whole firehouse, plus Connor, which sets me off again with tears. Stupid hormones
"Ok YN let's get you moved" Matt walks in and everyone follow picking up boxes
"I haven't finished packing yet. I have all my clothes and Nyx's things to pack as well" I wipe my tears from my face
"Let me help you" Kelly goes to walk passed, but I take his hand "do they know about...?" I point to my stomach
"No. They just know your dads kicking you out and I'm helping you"
"They should know. They're your friends Kelly. Tell them"
"You sure?" I nod my head
"Go on"
"Ok guys can I have all of your attention!" He shouts getting everyone to look at him and I "I know some of you have been speculating that YN is my girlfriend or that we're secretly married. YN and I met 6 weeks ago now and well we you know and now she's...."
"I'm pregnant" I blurt out to stop Kelly's rambling "Kelly's the father" I wait for everyone to give us dirty looks but instead Gabby runs over to me and hugs me
"Congratulations"
"Thanks?" I reply confused
"We'll all help you both won't we?" Sylvie says looking around. Everyone gives her a nod
"Welcome go the firehouse YN. Your family now and family takes care of their own" Matt smiles
"Ok let's start getting your stuff over to Kelly's"
"Had Nyx had a walk today?" Kelly asks
"No. I haven't felt well all morning and then I went to dads, and, well you know how that ended"
"I'll walk her round to Severides" Joe offers
"Are you sure?"
"Of course"
"Ok well she doesn't pull, but she can get a little excited if she sees another dog so use a treat to get her to focus on you"
"I can handle that"
"Her leash and harness is is the kitchen" I nod towards the kitchen. Joe gets everything ready and starts the walk to Kelly's.
After getting everything into the cars we arrive at Kelly's place
"We can unpack tomorrow. For tonight you can wear one of my T-shirts"
I watch everyone moving around Kelly's bringing in boxes for me. This is my new family, and I'm more than ok with it.

You asked for ideas and I have a suggestion, a pet that normally doesn’t like other people but they almost immediately adore your Blooming Panic SO. Going up to them, letting them pet them, etc
I loved doing this, got a little carried away.
theirs a small part that mentions of past animal abuse, neglect, and dog fights. I used red words to indicate where it begins and ends. It's nothing graphic but I don't want to trigger anyone. let me know if I miss any triggers, spelling, or grammatical errors.
Gender-neutral reader/mc
Enjoy!! I also added a reference at the end for what I think the pets look like!!

After graduating and getting a job Nightowl decided he need more space
He had multiple reasons to move, he was pretty far from his new job, he'd wanted a pet companion since he was little and his current apartment did not allow it. And he realized that he wanted to live with you, and his small college apartment was not fit for two people.
He thought it be perfect, you had quit your job and was visiting Nightowl almost all summer, and of his knowledge, there was no reason for you to go back when you could get a job here and live with him.
But he wanted to get settled in before freaking you out, so getting a pet came first
He did a lot of research to find a puppy but it was a lot harder than he thought until he got a message from an old classmate, a photo of a litter of labs, Nightowl didn't even wait a second before asking if they were for sale, lucky they were and Nightowl got a chocolate lab puppy which he fittingly named Coco.
You had been to Nightowl's old apartment before, you'd even been in his new one to help pack but recently he was afraid to invite you over and it started to make you wonder.
“How's is the unpacking going?”
“Oh, it's going great! Always better with your help!”
He tries to sweet-talk you before he recalls something.
“It's mostly Coco. Whenever I do something he starts chewing it up and throwing things left and right. He doesn't seem to like the change of new things. And I know I should be a little mad but, he's just so cute. I took a photo when he got into my socks.”
Nightowl pulls out his phone to show you the adorable photo of his new chocolate lab. You'd seen the puppy before but only on calls.
“No, I totally get it, how could someone get mad at that face.”
“Thank you for agreeing, I was starting to worry I wasn't being a strict enough dad.”
You use your fingers to zoom in on Coco’s face.
“I can't wait to see this face in person, a little mad it hasn't happened yet.”
You joke as Nightowl pockets his phone.
“Yeah…about that, he doesn't like people. It's not like an aggressive thing but when I bring anyone over, he stays in a corner and glares and if anyone other than me gets within 5 feet of him he growls.”
Nightowl pauses looking at you to see if you had anything to say, he knows that he talks a lot and often forgets to let others speak. When he realizes you are content with just listening he continues.
“I would love it if the two of you met but I don't want to scare him anymore and I don't want to disappoint you.”
“Look at you, all papa mode.”
You joke before taking his hand and changing your tone, you could tell Nightowl was genuinely concerned.
“And I'd love to meet him if you're ok with that, but if it makes you feel better I promise I'll back off as soon as Coco becomes distressed. And even though I think it obvious, you won't disappoint me.”
“Ok.”
Nightowl gives in.
“What?! Really!? When!? I mean it doesn't have to be now but I did leave stuff in your apartment before I left…”
Nightowl agreed, so after your short coffee date, the two of you walked back to his apartment. When he gets to his door he pauses.
“Just, don't get too excited, cause I don't want to disp-
“It'll be fine babe.”
You kiss his cheek and rest your hand on his, the two of you open the door together. You immediately started to search the area for Coco. Nightowl realizes this and laughs.
“Sorry, um I knew you were coming back for your stuff so I made sure Coco was in a different room, just in case.”
That's when you hear scratching, you turn your head to the Nightowl's room, you can see the shadow of tiny paws under the door, then two when the scratching continence, must be Coco or a ghost, you were hoping it was Coco.
“He must have to go outside, we were gone a little longer than I planned
Nightowl opens the door, leaning down to catch his pup when he runs up to him, but he doesn't. Coco bolts straight to you as the Nightowl fumbles to stop him, only a little afraid Coco will bite you. But instead, the chocolate lab tries to climb you, not getting any higher than a foot. You lean down to pick up the puppy.
“This ok?”
You ask, not wanting to disrespect the Nightowl or Coco. Night owl nods and smiles as getting closer to you. You finish picking up the little dog and holding it near your chest. The puppy is trying relentlessly to lick your face.
“I guess I had nothing to worry about.”
“Duh, of course, all dogs love me, I'm just so special.”
You joke
“You are.”
Nightowl responds, totally serious before leaning in to kiss you, pulling away when Coco barks. Nightowl doesn't tell you this until you've agreed to move in with him, but he was so relieved that Coco liked you because if Coco didn't like you it would ruin his whole plan to ask you to move in. Nightowl takes a quick photo of his two cuties and changes it as his phone’s background.

Quest has a pitbull
Cause I said so
But seriously he does and here's why
Both are big, loyal, adorable, and often misjudged on looks …and my favorite
It wasn't really a decision Quest made or planned, he had been apartment searching for a while, not many people wanted to house someone with a record but he had his hopes up about his most recent one. Over the few weeks of applying, viewing, and being interviewed for one apartment Quest I realized something. It was a lot more space than he'd ever had to himself, he knew that it would be hard. He knew the size and silence would bother him, make it hard for him to heal. He was even considering pulling out, looking for somewhere smaller. He walked to the apartment building as the rain poured, he decided to move on to try and find a new one and had to let the owner know. As he walked, his hair and clothes soaked and dripping, he saw her. He had seen her before, she was always in the alley between a coffee shop and an antique store, she often had a small cup of water, he'd assumed one of the coffee shops was responsible for the water, given the logo. Most times Quest would just walk by, ignoring the dog, he knew he wouldn't be able to leave the poor thing if he looked her in the eyes. He always wanted a dog, but everywhere he lived didn't allow them. The first time he saw her he had to tell himself
Someone else will help it. You can't care for it now. The homeless shelter doesn't even allow dogs.
But today he stopped. He squatted down, held out his hand out to the dog, and waited. He stayed in this position for at least 5 minutes, he watched through dripping bangs as the dog slowly approached him. He smiled when the dog sniffed his hand, he stayed still as the dog lowered its head. Quest cautiously turned his hand and rested it on her head, waiting before petting her. As she got closer and closer, as he continued to pet her he dreamed. He dreamed about the apartment building 2 blocks down, what a life would be like there with this sweetheart, the space wouldn't be just his but theirs.
Trigger warning:Covered in wet dog hair, Quest went into both stores, asking about the dog. He learned that she was originally for sale, but after the buyer got no calls he left her here, she was covered in bite marks and gashes, pretty obviously abused, and most likely forced into dog fights.(End of tw) The coffee shop explained that no one there could take her in, nor the antique shop, but they tried their best to feed her. When Quest heard about her past he couldn't help but feel like he was meant to help the dog, so he left his number with both shops, explaining that he was getting an apartment soon and he'd love to take her in. Luckily the apartments allowed dogs, including “aggressive “ breeds, and he was able to take her in, naming her Rain. The coffee shop loves her and Quest, they often give Quest coffee in the house along with a pup cup.
Sorry I got carried away, now for you meeting her.
Quest hadn't told you about rain, he was slightly afraid you would judge her past and breed, even if he knew that wasn't you. He thought it was fine until you bought a ticket to visit him. He tried to tell you but it never felt like the right time, and now the two of you are outside his apartment building. You were super excited to get inside and rest, walking ahead of Quest as he tried to talk to you.
“So, I've been trying to tell you something-”
He was interrupted by one of his neighbors.
“Afternoon Quest, how are you?”
“Im great Ms. Opal I-”
He's cut off again when the older lady sees you.
“Oh, and who is this? Oh is this the person you're always texting? And they're finally here, how cute.”
“Yes…”
Quest blushes lightly.
“Um, their here for the week so you'll have time to chat if you'd like but n-”
Once again the lady interrupts him.
“How fantastic. Oh but what about rain, poor things, always running away from people. Will she be fine?”
“Rain?”
You question, you never heard Quest speak of a Rain.
“His sweet dog, she's so sweet when she gets to know you but that takes months, she's almost as shy as her dad, not wanting to open up to new people.”
Quest tried to talk but before even getting a word out he was cut off.
“Oh my, I'm gonna miss the birds! See you love bird later!”
The lady leaves in a rush out the door laughing at her joke. You turn to quest, his head bowed in shame.
“You have a dog?”
“Yeah… I was trying to tell you but, it's hard to get the words out, especially with Ms.Opal.”
You laugh a little.
“Other than the constant interrupting, why was it hard? It's a dog, it's not like you have another partner.”
“I know but, I just don't like the words, I think it stupid when I have to tell people and they respond in horror or worry for my safety. Or worse they think we belong together because-”
He pauses not wanting to say the words, you rub his back, letting him know you're here and listening.
“We’re both aggressive.”
His voice is low. You roll your eyes, annoyed that quiet is treated that way.
“Sounds like a bunch of idiots. Ms.Opal seems to think your dog is sweet, and she's met the dog so listen to her, not the people who assume things based on breed.”
Quest feels a little stupid thinking you'd judge his dog, feeling a lot better after hearing you say that. He's now fueled with excitement for you to meet rain. The two of you hurry up the stairs to his apartment. He tells you more about her.
“She's a pit bull, that where most people get the idea she's aggressive, but she really is the sweetest thing I've met.”
“Even sweeter than me?”
“Way sweeter!”
The two of you laugh as you arrive at his door, his excitement dialed down just slightly.
“Ms.Opal wasn't lying though, it takes a lot of time for her to be comfortable around new people, she’s … people weren't the best to her.”
Quest decided he'd tell you more later, not wanting to ruin this moment. He opens the door, putting a finger against his lips. You stayed quiet as you entered the apartment. Quest calls for the dog and whistles, you then hear the slow pitter-patter of the dog's feet. You watch as the dog rounds the corner, her body wiggling with her tail as she gets closer to the quest. She leans her body against his legs as he pets her, you watch as Quest smiles and praises the dog. You watch as the dog freezes for a second when it sees you, you let your hand hang near her face, not too close but if she wanted to she had access to smell you. She stopped wiggling and sniffed your hand, after a few seconds she started wiggling again, moving from Quest to you, putting her body against you as you pet her. You hear as Quest lets out a relieved sigh than a laugh.
“This is insane, that's the fastest she's ever warmed up to someone, even me.”
He laughs even more incredibly relieved that he wouldn't have to separate you from her for the week.
Later that night Quest tells you more about rain, her past, how he got her, why he named her that, the coffee shop. You make him promise that he'll take you and rain to the coffee shop in the morning, he feels at peace knowing the two most important souls in his life get along.

Nakedtoaster likes to support local businesses including a nearby cat cafe.
It was one of his favorite places outside of his own home, he also thought that it was a great business.
The owners were always kind and almost always working as hard as the employees, they hired people who struggled to get jobs previously, whether because of a disability, discrimination, or if they have a criminal record. The cats and kittens were up for adoption and raged ages along with backgrounds.
They mainly loved this place because no matter how packed it got it was always a calming atmosphere.
Though he was never a cat person, he enjoyed watching the kittens chase each other. The older the cats slept, the more he started to understand people who liked cats. This was his downfall.
He started to frequent the cafe, and one kitten started to frequent his lap. Every time he sat down at the cafe a kitten would jump up and sleep in their laps.
After weeks of this they started to feel bad that the kitten wasn't adopted, he had seen way, he was prone to biting and scratching the other quest, but the kitten never scratched him so they took it upon themselves to adopt the kitten, it was so calming to him anyways.
Wrong.
Toasty soon realized the kitten was a rascal, running, jumping everywhere, knocking down one thing after the other. And though he found it annoying he loved the little thing.
You knocked on the door, looked down at your phone trying to make sure it was the right apartment. You heard fumbling and someone whispered a string of curse words. That's when you knew you had the right door. You waited patiently for Toasty to open the door, when he did it was only a sliver. You could tell they were frantic and unprepared, his hand playing with his hair as he looked behind the door.
“Are you gonna let your partner in?”
You teased smiling as he fumbles and blushes.
“Oh yeah sorry.”
He opens the door wider for you, you follow their eyes to one of the rooms, a closed door. He quickly closes the door.
“Welcome… sorry I haven't had time to clean up.”
“That's okay… so… can I see the kitten?”
“Wow is that all you came here for?”
“Yes.”
Your tone was serious but Toasty could tell it was a joke, making him laugh.
“Oh, I see how it is. “
They stayed quiet, looking back at the door again before speaking again.
“I don't think that's a great idea, he's kind of violent, not bad but you're also the first person he's met since I got him. “
“You don't think I can take a little scratch?”
You ask him, hoping to raise the likelihood you'll get to see the kitten. Success.
“Ok, but I warned you.”
He turns around ready to go open the door that his kitten is kept in, only to see the door open. Toasty rushes over to the room and searches it for the little cat.
“Uggg, be careful, he's probably out there, plotting his next move”
“You make him sound like a video game boss.”
“Everything in my life is a video game boss.”
When Toaster emerges from the room they see you holding their little boy.
“You exaggerated, he's so calm. I don't know what you were worried about.”
You tell him as you pet the kitten in your arms. Toasty moves closer to you as they accuse that kitten.
“You little, you're trying to deceive them, I know your true colors.”
They started laughing, knowing they just said something silly, they also blush. When he finishes laughing he stands up, moving to pet the cat, only to be hissed at. Shocked, Toasty looks at you.
“Did he just hiss at me? Oh, he must like you.”
He directs his attention to the kitten.
“Trying to steal my sweetheart? I know they are special but they're mine.”
Toaster is back to accusing the kitten again.
“What did you call him?”
That's when Toaster realizes he let the name slip. As soon as he got the kitten he named it oven, thinking it was fitting based on his fur and they thought it was funny Toaster and oven. But when the server asked the kitten's name, the Toaster decided it best to tell no one, knowing that all would tease him.
“Nothing.”
They lie.
“No! You called him oven! You named him oven! That's so cute!”
You start laughing at the matching names.
“Yeah yeah, it's a good name ok. He has the colors of an oven and I go by a Toaster so it's… it's a good name”
“I totally agree, I bet the server will too.”
You set Oven down as you reach for your phone as Toaster tries to stop you.

I mean it's Cat, not much backstory is needed.
I do think Cat isn't big on new people.
Cat has social anxiety.
Mostly based on my own cat but because they're scared of people Cat hides really well when people are around.
Like Xyx cant even find them, and it's his house.
You arrive at Xyx’s house. Still, a little rattled from the ride on Xyx motorcycle, even if it wasn't your first time on a bike, it was the first time you rode with Xyx and boy was he reckless, but as he told you.
“I’ll be careful, need to be when I got this special cargo.”
It made you laugh at the time but know you wished you would have seriously told him to be careful.
You made your way inside, taking a seat on the couch, as you were told.
“So where's Cat?”
“Hell if I know, that little troll is probably in the walls”
Xyx moves around his kitchen to get you a drink as he continues, his voice softens a tone
“Cats aren't the biggest human fan, I mean I'm not either, but that little thing can't stand us. They always hide if anyone other than me enters this house.”
You listen as you spot a fluffy tail movie behind the chair next to the couch. Not wanting to make the cat uncomfortable, you don't do anything other than watch, you watch as the cat gets closer to you, you watch as its hind legs bend and jump right into your lap. You snicker under your breath as you respond.
“You sure about that?”
“I’d bet my bike on it.”
Xyx makes his way into the living room with a glass for you, not yet seeing the fluffy creature in your lap. He leans over the couch to hand you your drink.
“Her-”
He freezes upon seeing Cat in your lap
“Your bike? I guess I wouldn't mind a souvenir.”
You laugh as Xyx rushes over to examine Cat, making sure it's not a hologram or something. He's genuinely surprised Cat is in your lap.
“They really just cost me my damn bike. First my house now my bike, it really is a troll.”
Xyx move to sit next to you on the couch before leaning into your ear
“I don't blame it, I'd jump straight to your lap too.”

"Sorry to bother you, Chief," you said following the man's moves through your house. Charlie Swan was carrying a reclining chair with ease leaving it in the middle of the living room while you stood at the bottom of the stairs with your little four year old daughter in your arms. Cassie was exhausted. It had been a long plane ride and a bit more road travel, which knocked your little girl out as soon as you set foot in your new home in Forks. It was a long time since you had seen that place but of course you remembered Charlie Swan as kind as he had always been. Even when you were just starting to think about moving back to Forks he was the first to help you get a safe home for you and your daughter. You remembered looking up for Charlie's old phone number hoping it was still the same and when you dialed and heard the man's voice behind the phone you sighed in relief. At last life seemed to be smiling on you after a long time and Charlie was quick to offer to help you if you decided to return to town.
He told you about a house for sale next to his. The owner was elderly and preferred to live with one of her children and earn income from the house near the forest that could be bought by curious tourists so Charlie convinced her to sell you the house and at a lower price than she was originally asking because the house needed some repairs that he could do. So you thought no more about it and packed your things to return to Forks after the horrible years you had lived in Brownsville.
Charlie picked you up at the airport in his police cruiser and avoided turning on the siren cause Cassie was already half asleep in your arms when you got off the plane and he didn't want to disturb her, but Cassie had the strength to stay awake long enough to make him promise that next time he would turn on the siren as they drove around town.
The truth was that Charlie Swan was an angel. He arranged everything so you would have a quick return and even now he was bothering to get all your stuff out of the moving truck so you wouldn't have the worry of doing it later.
"Nonsense, I'm happy to do it. Besides, it's my day off."
"And that's why you shouldn't be doing all this. I know vacations for police officers are non-recurring."
"I'm the chief, I have certain privileges."
"Still."
"Well, I wasn't going to let you do this on your own" he replied, carrying the boxes with your and Cassie's clothes. He set them down on the kitchen island and leaned back against them to rest. You walked over and settling Cassie better in your arms you sat down in one of the chairs Charlie had given you "Billy and Jacob will be here in a little while to get all this settled so you can have your first night here without any problems."
"I still think it's too much. Stop spoiling me like this, Charlie, you even gave me part of your dining room!"
"Ah, it was nothing. Bella and I recently bought a new one and we didn't want to take it to the dump cause it still has some use. The table is made out of good wood and the chairs are freshly upholstered. Look at it, it suits perfectly!"
"That's not the point" you said, glancing sideways at the newly arranged dining room near the kitchen "The point is that you're doing a lot for me and it's not fair."
"Your father would have done the same for Bella if it had been about me" he replied reaching for a bottle of water from the installed cooler. A sudden tension appeared in the room as you both remembered what your father's life was like in Forks "Jackson was my best friend for a long time and when he died...I promised him that I would seek you out and support you as if you were my own and that is precisely what I am doing."
"You wouldn't have if I hadn't left and hadn't abandoned him. He died because of me"
"That's not true."
"He was left alone when I left. He died of grief"
"He died from the heart valve disease he had. Your father suffered it from a young age and even so, you had a right to look for your mother"
"I wish I hadn't" you murmured, cooing to Cassie who was beginning to get annoyed by the noise of your voices "I abandoned my father and didn't find anything worthwhile"
"Well, that doesn't matter anymore, stop tormenting yourself and thinking you killed your father. I was with him. He loved you and he died peacefully, remember him as the good man he was, child."
You sighed. Cassie went back to sleep peacefully
"You're right. I'm sorry."
"Don't worry, sweetheart. I know it's not the same, but you have me now and I'd rather die than let you leave again, do you hear me?"
"Easy, I have no intention of doing that" you half smiled "I'm running away from the tracks I left in Brownsville, I have no desire to go back under any circumstances. What I'm worried about is that the tracks won't rub off and show the way to the one I'm hiding from"
Charlie clicked his tongue.
"That should be the least of your problems. I have a gun and I know how to use it. He'll have to deal with that first before he gets to you."
"Thanks, Charlie."
"Although, if Chief Swan is as good at shooting as he is at fishing then you'll have to learn how to handle a gun yourself, honey" a voice appeared from the doorway followed by a young man's laughter.  You looked up meeting the unmistakable face of Billy Black next to his son Jacob. Billy entered your house being pushed by Jacob leaving him next to Charlie as he rolled his eyes "Be a little more modest, buddy."
"There's nothing wrong with bragging once in a while."
"Yeah, but you do it all the time."
"Shut up."
"Make me"
Charlie got up from his spot lunging towards Billy who ina swift movement spun the wheels of his chair avoiding Charlie's attack thus beginning a chase through the house dodging the obstacles of boxes on the floor. Jacob laughed taking Charlie's place in front of you.
"I thought we were coming to help with the move, not to watch them play like preschoolers?"
"Me too. I think Cassie will get along with them."
"Your little girl will beat them up right away"
"Probably."
You giggled quietly avoiding waking Cassie as Charlie and Billy finished their game to go back to the truck and get the last boxes, then you could finally get everything settled at home. Jacob smiled, looking at you
"I'm Jacob. You may not remember me but..."
"Are you kidding? I used to give you the bottle."
"No you didn't."
"Of course i did! My dad used to visit your parents a lot and he used to take me with him. You were a newborn baby and I used to volunteer to help Sarah feed you. You were the worst baby ever. You cried too loudly and squeezed the bottle with your swollen gums. Then you'd throw the milk back and you used to get really messy. Your poop was the smelliest I could remember."
"Don't say that!" he replied, embarrassed "I see you do remember me."
"And Quill and Embry. Tell me, are they still the same old fools?"
"They haven't changed at all."
You laughed.
"Perfect."
"Ok, these are the last boxes" announced Charlie walking into the house carrying with him a small box with Cassie's toys. Billy came in behind with some boxes on his lap "I think now we can get everything organized and finishing in time for you to get some rest."
"I'll clean up the little girl's room" offered Jacob standing up "then I'll fill the closet and set up the bed so you can lay her down, you must be tired from carrying her around for so long. is that okay with you?" he asked you. You nodded
"Yes, thank you Jacob."
"You're welcome. Give me that" The boy took the boxes off his father's legs and picked up Charlie's, all with one arm and with the other he carried the folding base of the bed. You opened your eyes wide
"Easy, big guy, when did you get so strong?"
"I don't know. It just... showed up" he replied disappearing up the stairs
"It showed up" said Charlie "Ah, I hope shows up something like that to me"
"Don’t hold your breath as that happens" Billy joked.
"I should do something for lunch" you said trying to stand up. You were going to put Cassie down on one of the couches and put some cushions around her, but Charlie won't let you. Billy agreed
"None of that. We'll order something."
"But..."
"Nothing" interrupted Billy "We'll buy pizza"
"You guys really need to stop doing this" you reproached. Billy picked up his phone
"Ah, sorry, you had to say that earlier, I'm already on the call."
"You guys are unbelievable"
Charlie smiled
"We know. oh I'll get Bella, she hasn't said hello yet" Charlie walked out before you could say anything else and closed the door dismissing the moving truck. Billy smiled complicitly, placed the order, gave the address and left the cell phone on the kitchen bar
"Dinner is served."
"Thank you."
"They had children's menu, so I ordered it for Cassie. I hear their brownies are delicious. Maybe I'll steal it for myself."
"I'll keep it as a secret"
Billy nodded with a smile and as the food arrived you chatted animatedly about what had happened in your absence, he also told you things about your father and all the times they went fishing together before his death. You were enjoying Billy's stories when time began to pass and Charlie didn’t return with Bella as he promised. Jacob was finishing Cassie's room and when the pizza arrived he came downstairs immediately, asking about Charlie's whereabouts.
"He went to get Bella, but he hasn't come back yet."
"That's strange, his house is right next door."
"Maybe something came up for him at the station" Billy shrugged.
You  decided to wait for the Swans to eat, but seeing that they didn't show up Jacob offered to investigate what was going on when suddenly the door opened and a very worried Charlie Swan walked in wiping the sweat from his brow
"Bella’s missing."
"What?"
Jacob suddenly became alert and Billy remained static in his place. You felt a knot in your stomach. While riding in the police cruiser that morning, you had heard something about tourist disappearances and wild creatures killing people in the woods and you feared Bella might be in that kind of danger. You were never close, but you knew her and occasionally went out together to talk or share a movie night. You still hadn't seen her after the years you were away and the least you wanted was for something bad to happen to her.
"Did you talk to any of her friends?"
"She was with them during classes, but they lost track of her on her way here. I'll call the Cullens, maybe..."
"You didn't know?" asked Billy "The Cullens left Forks, Charlie."
"Where did they go?"
"We'll find her" encouraged Jacob "But we have to go out and look for her before dark."
"I'll go with you" you said "I'll take Cassie to her room and..."
"No, no, stay" Charlie asked you "I left a note for Bella at home in case she comes back she’ll know that she has to come here and wait for me. If she does, call me right away, please" you nodded
"I'll call Harry and ask him to join along with the boys" Billy said and wheeled away down the hallway holding the phone to his ear. Charlie and Jacob left and you decided to take Cassie to the room, go down to the kitchen and make some coffee for the Brigadiers and Bella. If she was alone in the woods and the night was catching up with her then she was going to need something hot to get her strength back.
You hoped with all your heart that she was all right. For her, for Charlie.
.
.
.
Hours passed one after another with no sign of Bella. Your driveway was carpeted with people and police cruisers specially brought by Charlie to search for Bella. The entire town was scoured by officers from the early hours of the night, yet there was no trace of the chief's daughter. You decided to join the search taking the opportunity that Sue Clearwater was playing with Cassie - who was awakened by the ruckus of the patrol cars - asking if it was a good idea to search for her in the woods, but Harry refused.
"It's too dangerous, we don't know what might be among the trees. We can't risk losing any more people."
You were about to object his words when Jacob came up to you putting a hand on your shoulder telling you that he was right and that the forest was something not to be taken lightly. So you gave up, deciding to go back inside and refill the coffee pot when Jacob alerted Charlie that someone had found Bella.
A tall man walked in a straight line toward the Brigadiers where Billy and Harry watched him with restrained relief. He had a stocky frame and Bella unconscious in his arms seemed to weigh no more than a feather. His cropped black hair was messy and his lack of a shirt told you that the icy cold of the city didn't affect him at all
You knew him. His face was very familiar yet strange at the same time. You were back in Forks after a few years, but you knew that no one could change that much in that period of time.
Sam Uley was holding Bella and Charlie took her in his arms as he came out of the stupor and relief of having found his daughter. The Brigadiers sighed in unison and Billy thanked them all. You wanted to do something, to approach Charlie, to ask him if he needed help with Bella, but your eyes were caught in Sam’s.
They were dark, wild, like the forest behind him. You remembered him perfectly.
Before you left Forks you two were close friends and came to like each other as something more, but your leaving ended that and what you might have been up to that point.
You tried to look away, but then Sam's huge body began to shake, his knees buckled and he fell to the ground resting his hands on the dirt. Harry Clearwater reacted and approached him asking if he was okay.
"Tired" you heard him whisper causing you to shudder. Harry helped him up, whispered something in his ear and after taking one last look at you he disappeared into the woods. Harry walked back towards you.
"I thought the forest was dangerous"
"For us."
"What do you mean?"
Harry looked at you. Then he looked at his wife with Cassie in her arms standing at the doorway . He smiled.
"You'll find out soon, child"

I can't stop thinking about sleepy!peter. This is a request please anything with a sleep-deprived dorky peter
oof i made this kinda long by accident 😭 pls enjoy <3
-
“five more minutes, mr. stark. just… five minutes,” peter murmurs to tony and shrugs his hand off of him. after arriving at the tower straight from school, he’d done his usual training session and a last minute cram session for what tony guesses is a history test. he drifted off somewhere in between everything.
if you ever think your schedule is packed, you haven’t seen peter’s.
tony sighs when his protégé still doesn’t budge. he’s at the kitchen table, passed out on a stack of textbooks.
“up and at ‘em, kid. wouldn’t you rather sleep in, i don’t know, your own bed?” tony proposes instead. it earns him a childish pout and head shake from peter. “i wanna sleep in y/n’s. want her cuddles.” he quirks an eyebrow at the mention of his daughter. “oh? you two are in the sleepover stage?” “have been for a while,” peter corrects him, nuzzling his cheek against the textbook.
why wouldn’t you tell tony that? it’s not like he doesn’t know you’re together, and he was bound to find out eventually. you and peter do live under his roof. teenagers and their privacy.
grabbing peter’s shoulder, tony yanks him back into a sitting position. “tell you what, i’ll take you up to y/n if you promise me you’ll get some sleep.” peter begins to protest, and barely gets out a but before tony interrupts. “real sleep. crashing while you analyze the declaration of independence hardly counts.”
peter lazily blinks his eyes open, rubbing the exhaustion out of them while he speaks. “as much as i want to, mr. stark… i…” he yawns his words out. “i should really get back to work.” just like that, he’s awake. tony has to admit that his commitment is impressive. impressive, but not good for him. “kid, it’s late. when’s that test of yours, anyway?” he asks peter, whose shoulders slump. “uh, tomorrow.”
“bedtime it is, then. that genius brain of yours could use a break before the big day ahead,” tony decides and successfully helps peter out of the kitchen chair. “you think i’m a genius?” peter smiles shyly, letting tony lead him to the staircase. “who doesn’t? i doubt you even needed the all nighter you were gonna pull.” his jaw slightly dropping, peter follows next to tony. “how did you know i-“ “i know everything,” he simply insists.
there’s a beat of silence, then tony inquires some more. “except that you apparently canoodle with my daughter every night. since when does that happen?” the two of them continue trudging up the stairs. peter grins once again as he thinks of you. “started before we were dating, actually. it’s nothing bad, though.” he shrugs a shoulder. “we just, like, spoon each other.”
“ah, you’re into the classics. me and pep are the same.” a fond smirk pulls at tony’s lips. “she’s the big spoon.” “i figured,” peter chuckles back, tony scrunching his face up in mock offense. “and why’s that?” “oh, come on. it’s no secret pepper wears the pants,” peter teases his mentor while they make their way down the hall. “you’re much nicer unconscious,” tony remarks.
the two of them reach your room finally, peter letting out a long breath. your door is cracked open, in case peter wanted to stop by. he can see you at your desk with a dim light on next to you. another grin crossing his features, him and tony watch you scribble something in a notebook.
tony knocks on the doorframe and peaks his head into your room. “special delivery,” he announces, you cocking your head to the side curiously. “what is it?” your dad answers by pushing open the door to reveal peter. peter gives you a small wave. “oh,” you bite back a smile, getting up from your seat. “just what i ordered. how’d you know?”
“kid fell asleep studying. the only way i could get him up was to bring him here,” tony explains, clapping peter on the back. “he was asking for you. your cuddles, specifically.” “thanks, mr. stark. i think she gets it,” peter says through clenched teeth. you laugh softly at his forced confession. “it’s okay, pete. i was waiting for you to come.” he rubs one of his pink tinted cheeks.
“we’ll discuss this in the morning, young lady,” tony playfully scolds you. “for now, why don’t you kids head off to dreamland. pete’s got a test tomorrow.” peter presses his lips together, you walking up to him. “i‘ve got him, dad. thank you for being cool about us.” you take peter’s hands with a nod at tony, him ruffling your hair.
“night, y/n/n. hands stay above the waist, parker,” tony meets his eyes for emphasis. “understood,” peter mumbles and threads his fingers through yours. “night.” satisfied in that, tony leaves and closes the door behind him. he sticks around for a few seconds, hearing you chastise peter about fixing his sleep schedule. your dad walks away with a smile on his face.
“you’re supposed to get a good night’s sleep before a test, by the way,” you remind peter while he changes into pajamas. he’s left a few things here for whenever he sleeps over, as tony called it. “which i’m about to do. i have the world’s best snuggler for a girlfriend.” peter pulls up his flannel bottoms, coming towards the bed. you’re sitting at the edge of it.
“you also have to eat a good breakfast. that means no poptarts and chocolate milk,” you beam knowingly, peter flopping down onto his back and your comforter. “they make healthy ones now, y/n/n. bruce just bought them,” he protests and tries to reach for you. you look at him over your shoulder. “so?” “so, he’s a doctor. i trust him.” a yawn slips out of peter. he keeps his eyes closed after this one.
“i wouldn’t take nutrition advice from the hulk, but ok,” you concede and lay down next to your sleepy boyfriend. “how was your day? besides the studying.” your voice drops to a whisper, peter’s arms winding around your middle. “not bad, just busy. i did some sparring with sam.” he pulls you closer to him and hides his face in your neck. “he beat me, obviously.” giggling quietly, you cradle the back of his head with one hand.
“school?” you wonder and tangle your fingers in his unkempt locks. “good, ‘cuz you were there.” he places a few kisses to your skin, and you can feel his lips curve into a smile. your leg drapes around his waist. “very smooth.” “it’s true,” peter whines and tightens his grip on you. “just knowing you’re around somewhere makes me happy.” humming, you keep combing your fingers through his hair. “you’re the cutest. go to bed, petey.”
peter easily gives in. “mm, whatever you say. g’night, lovey.” you kiss his hair lightly in response. his breathing doesn’t take long to even out, and he’s soon fast asleep while cuddled up next to you.
tony was right, as per usual. peter’s genius brain really did need a break.

Crazy about you
Pairing: Stiles x reader
Characters: Stiles, Scott, Allison, Lydia, Malia, Isaac
Word count: 1.2k
Summary: Stiles is in love with Y/N since second grade. He snaps when Isaac asks Y/N out and finally confesses his love due to confrontation between him and Y/N
Warnings: strong language, fight, please keep in mind that English isn’t my first language
Masterlist
————|
“Come on Y/N, just one date” says Isaac while looking at you.
You smile a little trying to cover the fact that he is so intimidating and that you are already blushing. Isaac is like stupid hot and since he is in the pack everything seems so right. You look at your friends talking and then you turn your head to Isaac.
“Fine, but no kisses” you say and smirk seeing his big smile disappear.
He bites his lips and shakes your hand “Deal”.
You shake your head amused and go to class with him.
----------------------------------------
“You ok?” asks Scott, glancing at Stiles.
“Yes, why wouldn’t I?” asks Stiles and looks at Malia, Lydia, Allison and Scott.
“Maybe because Y/N and Isaac have been flirting all day or maybe because he was tagging her along all week or maybe because YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH HER SINCE YOU HAVE MET HER WHICH WAS IN THE SECOND GRADE, YOU IDIOT” says Malia.
Stiles rolls his eyes and shrugs his shoulders “Bullshit.”
“Cut the crap, Stilinski. You love her but somehow you are trying to shove away those feelings. Why?” says Allison. “And don’t lie to us.”
Stiles sighs and looks at Y/N.
“Guys, you are right. I've been in love with her ever since I met her, but she’s way out of my league. I love her smile and how her eyes sparkle everytime she talks about something she loves. She’s the sweetest, the most caring person ever but she prefers Isaac and that’s fine. As long as she’s happy, then I’m happy too. But I swear I’m gonna kill him if he breaks her heart because she is fucking amazing and he doesn’t deserve her...neither do I.”
Everyone goes silent and a few moments later the bell rings.
“Let’s just go to class.” says Scott, looking at everyone.
You enter the classroom and find your desk right between Scott and Stiles who enters the classroom two minutes after you. You smile at them but your smile fades immediately when you see Stiles eyes. There’s something going on there but you don’t know what. He seems kinda off and he isn’t as talkative as he always is. Just when you want to ask him what happened, the coach enters the classroom. You take your phone out trying not to get caught.
To: goofball Stiles
Hey, you ok? You seem kinda off. I’m worried and also I have to tell you that Isaac asked me out! Can you believe it?
You hit send and wait for Stile’s response. Few moments later you hear his phone buzzing. He takes it out of his pocket just to see your message. He takes a look at the coach and starts typing on his phone.
From: goofball Stiles
I’m fine. Just a little tired. I’m so happy he asked you out :)
You read his message. Now you are sure. He’s lying but you don’t know why. You brush off those bad feelings and try to focus on the coach's class and your date after school.
As soon as the last bell rings you take your stuff and go to the library when you are supposed to meet with Isaac. Suddenly you feel a strong grip and in front of you appears red strawberry blonde hair.
“Honey, he’s in love with you” she says leaving you completely confused. Who is in love with me? Isaac? Stiles? You shake your head trying to get rid of those thoughts. What the hell is going on today?
You go into the library just to see Stiles beating the shit out of Isaac.
“What the fuck is going on here? Stiles!” you yell at him and grab his shoulder. He pushes your hand away. You can see he isn’t controlling himself and that scares you. What the fuck is going on and why Stiles is acting so weird?
“Stiles, leave him. Y/N is here.” says Scott and helps Stiles to get up. You cover your mouth seeing a couple of bruises on his cheek and his lip bleeding.
Stiles looks at you with a huge pain in his eyes.
“Have a great date” he says and walks out of the library.
Lydia and Allison help Isaac to get up. You walk up to them.
“I think you should have a conversation with Stiles.” says Allison. Lydia doesn’t say anything but you could feel her coolness and death stare.
“I will.” you answer and apologise to Isaac. You get into your car and drive to Stiles’s house. Sheriff lets you in. You take a deep breath and knock on his door.
“Dad, I said I’m fine.” he says and opens the door.
He looks at you hurt. “You here? Not on a date with the boy of your dreams?” he mocks.
“Um, your dad let me in and I believe we have to talk” you say undaunted by his sarcasm.
“About what do you want to talk?” he asks. You remain silent. “Ok fine let’s talk. What do you want to hear? You want to hear how badly Isaac annoys me or maybe you want to talk about how he’s been making those puppy eyes to you all week? Or maybe you want to hear how crazy I am about you and how this fucking situation is driving me crazy? Maybe you want to hear how badly I am in love with you? Just tell me what are you doing with that other guy? Why him?” he says with anger in his voice.
“You are mad at me? AT ME? I did nothing Stiles! You were the one scared to tell me about those feelings. This is on you, not me. You have no rights to to be mad at me for going out with Isaac because I had no fucking idea you love me!” you yell frustrated. Stiles licks his lips and looks at you.
One moment later you feel his lips pressing on yours. You kiss him back. He breaks the kiss and looks at you. He exhales “Why do you have to be that blind? I’ve been in love with you since the day we met. I fucking love you Y/N, you hear me?”. You nod and hug him. He gets you up and puts you on bed. He lays down next to you with your head on his chest. He smells amazing. He smells like home. He has been your best friend ever since and right now it feels wonderful. It feels amazing to be in his arms and to look at his beautiful eyes. You could feel that little heat near your heart.
You hear his heart beating rapidly. “I love you” you murmur into his chest “I love how smart you are, I love how much you care about others and I love how brave you can be. I love listening to your voice and looking into your eyes. I love every single detail about you and your personality.” You look at him.
“But I swear I’m gonna kill you if you are gonna be so jealous again. You broke Isaac’s nose.” You hear Stiles laughing “oh, he will heal”. You shake your head in disbelief “You are crazy.”
He smiles and kisses you “Crazy about you.”
