"LESS! hurry up man!" you shouted across the room as you stood watching your girlfriend dawdle down the stairs. you and the blonde had been asked to film a diary room episode together — a way to document any world cup memories.
where the pair of you would sit down and basically talk about camp and other things until the media team had enough content.
watching as alessia walked down the stairs scrolling through her phone as a small smile was on her face which to you felt like years but finally after ten minutes it wasn't even two she had made it to where you were stood.
"i think i've aged about fifty years in the time it's took you to walk down fifteen steps!" you huffed as alessia looked up from her phone slotting it into her blue england shorts, smiling as you shaking her head a little at your dramatics.
"yeah? you look it too!"
you knew that was coming, rolling your eyes and smacking the blondes shoulder pushing her slightly as she held back her laugh.
"baby, i'm joking" she said while swinging her arm and wrapping it around your shoulders, pulling you closer to her as she placed a soft kiss to the top of your head as you began to walk towards where you were filming.
"your lucky i love you russo!"
you sat down first on the couch as alessia slotted down comfortably beside you, as she sat a little lower making sure her head rested on your shoulder making you look like the taller one when in reality it was the polar opposite.
"okay, you ready?" you asked the blonde after being given the run down from the camera men as the cameras began to film.
"hi guys, i'm y/n.." you smiled waiting for alessia to say her name but instead there was an awkward pause until a yelp escaped the blonde from you elbowing her in the ribs in order to get her attention.
"ow! what was that for-"
"introduce yourself!"
you cut the blonde off as she held her side dramatically even though you had barely touched her. "you said you were doing the introductions!" alessia defended herself.
you sighed, "no i said i would- oh nevermind,, im y/n and that's alessia" you smiled at the camera, pointing at yourself and then at alessia who looked confused.
filming got to a great start, and it got to the point where you actually forgot you were being filmed, "OH my fear of spiders is totally normal, at least i'm not scared of turkeys" you teased. it being your turn to poke fun of the blondes fears as she had just spent to last five minutes poking fun at your totally normal fear of spiders.
you began to recount the story of the other day, when the two of you were out on a walk in your down time in australia.
"no did you not see them, they did start and charge at us!" she defended as you gave her a side eye look, "i wouldn't say charging"
"oh i would!"
"it's was walking and minding its own business!"
"yeah.. but it did look us in the eye."
"then you began to use me as a shield as you hid behind me" you smirked, knowing the blonde was a lot taller then you and your small frame was never going to protect her from anything. "well i wasn't getting eaten by a turkey! england wouldn't have there stargirl then" she defended herself as you scoffed rolling your eyes at her cocky comment.
"oh so instead i'm just turkey bait to you,, cheers less!" you rolled your eyes as she began to plead her case of 'that's not what i meant!' as the filming carried on.
"in the eighty-" you began talking as alessia looked at you not that she was listening and you could tell.
"did you come in here with that cap on?" she asked you, making you stop your story as you looked at her with a strange look.
"yeah?" you responded as she looked at the black cap that was on your head, snatching it from your head and messing up your hair in the process and then placing it on her head instead.
she turned around, and back giving you a dramatic pose as she looked at you with a serious look trying to hold in her laughter. "do i look good?" she asked as you nodded, alessia beginning to pose more.
"here comes the vogue model!" you whispered, still loud enough for people to hear you. "think this suits me" she says to herself as your still smiling and laughing at your girlfriends antics.
"do you just want my entire wardrobe?" you jokingly asked knowing the blonde had quite a few of your clothes in her wardrobe however realistically it was nothing compared to amount of clothes you had 'borrowed' from the blonde.
"i've only got your cap!" she smiled turning to look at you, "and anyways your one to talk, there my joggers!" she said pointing to the grey joggers you were wearing. you gasped, "they are not, these are actually mine ms russo"
the blonde's eyebrows rose as she smirked pointing to the initials that were embroidered next to pocket, "AR, yeah?" she hummed a smirk on her lips as she knew she had caught you in the act of stealing her clothes once again, as you paused for a minute coming up with your next line.
"th-that means nothing, it just the brand name!" you scoffed coming up with a half-assed excuse as alessia rose her eyebrows trying her best not to burst out laughing.
"mhm, what brand?"
"oh not sure, mum bought them for me for christmas!"
you sighed throwing your hands in the air, as alessia began to laugh not being able to hold it in any longer as you rolled your eyes playfully as her.
"you've stolen my hoodies though, and it wouldn't surprise me if you were wearing my socks!" alessia pointed to the black adidas hoodie you were wearing and then to the white adidas socks you were wearing.
shaking your head as you began to plead your innocence once again, "the hoodies borrowed, not stolen." you began really emphasising the word borrowed. "and the socks are actually mine!" you smirked as alessia hummed side eyeing you.
"really?"
"yes!" you say looking at the camera but mouthing 'no' but alessia can't see as she's sat slightly behind you. "doubt that!" the blonde mumbled as you turned to her and began to laugh.
"no.. th-there actually georgia's but i don't think she knows" you say in between giggles, exposing yourself meaning georgia will definitely know because even if she doesn't watch the video on youtube, alessia will make it her mission to tell her.
"so the two huge suitcases you brung to australia" alessia began as you turned to her and slotted back into the gap at the side of her, nodding slowly unsure as to where she was going with this sentence. "what did you actually bring, because i think i'm yet to see you in your own clothes." alessia continued.
"as if you didn't bring three whole suitcases with you!" you defended yourself, as her and katie had packed enough for the two of them two move to australia as everyone else in the team had two bags.
"yeah, but i haven't been living out of someone else's wardrobe for the past two weeks like some"
"i did bring clothes! these slides are mine!" you smiled bringing your cream slides into the camera angle, as you tried to bargain your case when in reality you just liked to wear your girlfriends clothes — they were comfy and as a big bonus they smelled like her.
"your such a big dope!"
"your big dope though." you smiled looking at alessia as she too had a huge smile on her face as the blonde  brought you closer to what you thought was a hug instead she was putting you in a headlock.
"thanks for watching, i've been-"
"ALESSIA MIA TERESA RUSSO! let go of me now!”
"i've been alessia and she's been y/n!"

Batlantern Headcanons Because I Found My New Brainrot and I Cannot Contain Myself (Platonic or Romantic, You Decide <3)
Hal is the only one who gets away with calling Bruce nicknames. Oliver tried calling Bruce “Spooky” once. He still has nightmares.
Several long-winded missions combined with Hal’s couch-surfing escapades have resulted in Hal having his own official Wayne guest room.
Alfred has smacked Hal with a dish towel several times. Reasons include: trying to wash the dishes, using a mini vac that he brought from home, and spitting gum into the garbage without wrapping it in a tissue first.
Tim gave Hal all of their streaming passwords to piss Bruce off. Hal proceeded to make his own profiles because he fears nothing, so Bruce changed all of his profile names to “Parasite.” Since then, it’s turned into an all-out war of renaming Hal’s profile every time they’re using it.
Highlights so far have included Sugar Baby, Freeloader, Ring Pop, Green Abomination, Magical Girl, Noisemaker, The Better Side Piece, and This is Your Official Eviction Notice Hal. (Bruce still hasn’t changed the passwords.)
Hal: You need to let go of your fear, Bats. Let’s do a simple breathing exercise. Bruce: I am breathing. Hal: No, like calming breaths. Follow my lead, okay? In- no, not that fast. Maybe close your eyes first. In…and out-No. No. Are you having a panic attack? Do I need to call someone?
For one mission, a few other JL members had to go undercover as couples. Bruce and Hal were the spares and paired up out of necessity. To everyone’s surprise, however, they were the most convincing duo because they “bickered like an old married couple.”
Bruce: I’m growing soft, Clark. I’m weak now. Clark: You told Hal ‘Good job.’ What’s wrong with that? Bruce: It’s unprofessional! *in the other room* Hal: I think Batman just confessed his undying love to me.
They have each other’s coffee orders memorized and regularly prepare the other’s coffee for them out of habit when they’re together.
After a while, Hal stops playfully flirting with everyone and reserves it only for Bruce because he gives the best reactions.
At a ‘Thank You, Justice League’ party hosted by Bruce Wayne, Hal slips up and flirts with Bruce in his civvies, only for Brucie Wayne to flirt back without missing a beat.
Hal had to go cool down in the bathroom for a few minutes. He was not ready for that. (Bruce is so fucking smug too. He’s been waiting FOREVER to give Hal a taste of his own medicine.)
Hal, introducing Bruce to the Lantern Corp: This is my pet bat. Careful, he bites.
Bruce, introducing Hal to new JL members: This is my partner. He’s been in training for ten years.
During an important strategy meeting, Hal waves his hand around, and Bruce just sighs. “What now, Lantern?” “Your plan of attack has like four holes in it.” “Where?” Hal gestures to the areas and suggests different strategies, and suddenly Bruce is like Does anyone else think it’s hot in here?
He lies in bed that night contemplating every single life event that’s lead up to Hal Fucking Jordan turning him on with his impeccable battle strategy.
Barry: I think Batman’s mad at me. He didn’t even react when I told him about the great rescue mission from last week. Hal: What do you mean? He was smiling the whole time. Barry: His face didn’t move an inch. Hal: You didn’t notice the lip twitch?
Batman has blackmail material on every single Justice League member, but only Hal has blackmail material on Bruce and the guts to use it. (Hal knows Bruce gets pedicures for fun. And he gets little designs on his toes too.)
Arthur: So when did you and Green Lantern start….you know. Bruce: No, I do not. What did we start? Arthur: You know what?! I think I forgot to walk my fish. Bye!
*Barry sees Hal with a hickey while they’re drinking coffee* Barry, jokingly: Did Bruce give you that? Hal: Yes, actually. How’d you know? Barry, backing away frantically: Oh okay, cool! Okay okay. Cool. Cool cool cool. Okay. Bruce, entering: What’s with him? Hal: I don’t know. He doesn’t seem to like the mug you bought me, though.
The JL has a betting pool called “BatLantern FMK” where they bet on which will happen first: will they fuck, marry, or kill each other?
Only Clark, Diana, and J’onn know that one of them happened already

It Was Doomed From The Start
ʚ pairing: Kate Martin x Roommate!reader
ʚ word count: 3.1k words
ʚ warnings: RPF!! , stalking, harassment, angst, self reflection (this topic scares me…don’t judge), fluff ofc bc it’s Kate
ʚ rimunagenius speaks: i know the title looks scary, but i promise, it’s nothing bad with Kate and reader. I wouldn’t write angst for them for this story not yet atleast I also wanted to introduce what Kate has reader under in her phone and i’ve also been thinking about adding one shots about how Kate and reader came up with the nicknames for eachother or little one shots of them before or during the events written about in the series (stuff that didn’t make it to the fic)…if i do they’ll be on the series masterlist but let me know if you’d like to see that!! anyways…here’s the long awaited part three!
Part 3
| Series Masterlist |
Tumblr media
"C'mon, it's time to get up, sleeping beauty." There was no beauty in how you were currently knocked out in Kate's bed. Your hair is all over your face and pillow; with parts sticking up due to the lack of hairstyle before going to sleep.
You had your mouth slightly open, quietly breathing through it. You needed this sleep. You usually slept way more appealing but this—this was your well-needed catch up on weeks' worth of rest. "Y/n...y/n. C'mon. We have to get ready." Kate leaned over the bed, a hand on your hip, softly attempting to shake you awake. A string of muffled and incoherent curse words left your mouth as you pulled the comforter over your head.
Curling in on yourself to make yourself small and generate more heat. It was a pretty cold morning in Iowa City. "I don't wanna." You whined under the blanket. Eliciting a small giggle from the blonde, she crawled into the bed, almost spooning you before speaking to you softly.
"Well we have to, sunshine. We have classes, and if you still want to eat breakfast, I suggest you get up now." She flipped the comforter off your head, rubbing her hand up and down your arm. "C'mon, let's go." She gave your arm light taps before she then gripped it and started to pull you out of her bed.
"We should not have stayed up so late last night. It's your fault. I blame you.” You pointed in her face, your hair everywhere and eyes closed, preventing her from taking you seriously. “You kept doing that thing you do with your mouth." You mumbled as you now were standing right infront of your roommate, eyes looking up at her, your mascara under your eyes.
"Sorry I was having a good time. From what I remember you didn't want me to stop." She looked at you, wiping some of the mascara fall out away, giving you a bright smile before walking you towards the bathroom.
"Kate, we were drinking and you know that trick is only funny when we're both under the influence. If you would've stopped messing around, we could've finished both movies at a decent hour. I literally fell asleep in your bed and halfway through the movie." You say as you look at her through the mirror, narrowing your eyes before cleaning your mascara and whatever makeup you had on.
She raised her arms in defense, "I mean, what can I say? I'm the life of the party, baby." She said before placing herself on the counter. "Oh, and I already made waffles and yours are on the counter." She sat and watched your do your whole routine, her legs swinging a little every now and then.
"Yes?" You looked at her as you placed a refreshed coat of mascara on your lashes. You could see her staring. She's been doing that a lot lately. It made you feel warm inside and you wouldn’t lie and say you haven’t been doing it more recently also.
"Nothing. Just watching you." She smiled softly as she watched you do your makeup. A small blush casting over both your cheeks. You both knew what it was.
"Okay, creep." You side eyed her before giving her your best smile, just to prove you were being playful.
"Haha. Funny." Kate mocked you, lightly kicking her foot against the side of your thigh.
"Kate? Can you do me a favor?" You looked at your best friend, her blue eyes immediately meeting yours. She nodded her head quickly, eyes trained in yours immediately trying to read your face for anything wrong.
"Yeah, of course. Is everything okay?" She picked up on your nervous look. You sighed, looking down.
"Nick’s still weirding me out, so I wanted to know if you could walk back here to come get me after your class and take me to my next one? I just don't want to be on campus alone with him being around." You looked nervous, almost as if you had a feeling she'd say no. Of course Kate didn't, though. You still haven’t told her about not even going to report him in the first place.
"Yeah, for sure. I can do that. I'll see you in a bit, yeah?"
"Yeah. Okay, thank you. It's just for this class and my next two and then Hannah can take me to practice later." You watched Kate's face soften.
"Y/n, you know i'd take you to every class. It's not an inconvenience. Whatever you need, I got you." She hugged you before saying a small goodbye and watched you walk inside your class while she waited outside.
You went inside and sat down, your phone pinging with a new message.
bear <3
be safe, ily.❤️
sunshine☀️💕

'bear <3 loved "ilym😘"'
The class went smoothly, you walked outside to see Kate standing, waiting for you. She must have left class sooner to be here on time to not make you wait. God, you were so grateful for this girl.
She walked you to every class before you had anatomy. So far, Nick hasn't spotted you, and you felt a wave of relief wash over you. You didn’t want to put it past him to find you, but for right now, you were taking the win. As you finally made it to anatomy, Juliana had been waiting outside.
You and Kate had been laughing about something she said when you looked over and saw Juliana watching you both, a smile on her face. "Oh, Kate. This is my friend Juliana, the one who's helping me with the girlfriend thing." You introduced your two friends, them shaking one another's hands.
"Hi, I'm Kate. Nice to meet you." Kate greeted, a friendly smile on her face.
"Oh, I know who your are. Y/n has said so many great things about you. You're almost all she talks about in here." Your face immediately grew red. You hadn't realized you talked about Kate so much. Did you really?
Kate looked down at you and smiled. A small blush rising to her cheeks. "Does she now?" She asked teasingly.
"Yeah, she's always going on about how such a great friend you are. How good you are to her. Makes me jealous." She jokingly added, before chatting Kate up some more. You didn't know what it was but something about Juliana being overly excited about talking to Kate, Kate being engaged in the conversation, was something that made a pit grow in your stomach.
You had no idea why two of your friends talking gave you a sense of jealously. It was frankly ridiculous. Shaking the totally absurd assumptions of this otherwise normal interaction out of your head, you looked down at your phone. A new notification from a random account on instagram.
The picture less profile, what seemed to be a randomly generated username had sent you a message. Clicking the message, you immediately felt a ball in your throat form. Suddenly your knees felt like they would give up and the world would swallow you whole from right where you were standing.
maybe you should make her leave…
this won’t be good for you.
she’s not good for you.
make her leave.
it won’t be good for her either.
You looked around, trying to find who had sent it. They had to have been talking about Kate. You knew who it was, just thing to find him to justify that you weren’t absolutely going crazy and imagining this whole thing.
“Hey, you okay?” Kate looked at you, her eyes scanning every inch of your flushed face, her worry growing by the second.
“Yeah, I’m totally fine. I’m just going to walk into class.” You swalllowed before you looked around once more, suddenly seeing him. Lurking at a nearby a table, hat on, just staring right at you. He was sitting a healthy distance away, but watching your every move. Watching Kate. You couldn’t take this.
You hadn’t realized you had been staring, Kate followed your stare and saw him too. Juliana wrapping her arm around your shoulder, kissing the top of your head. You instantly regretted not being able to sell that you were unbothered, due to Kate starting to walk over to Nick.
“Kate! Don’t. I don’t need you talking to him.” You grabbed her arm, and pleaded with her.
“He’s obviously making you very uncomfortable. I thought you told someone about him already. What did he even say?” You did not have the heart to tell her that you let this man harass you for weeks just because you didn’t want to have any conflict. It wasn’t the best decision but it saved a lot of people trouble and you didn’t want to be inconvenience with this stupid thing. You could handle it. You could handle him.
“Kate, I was going to I swear. But I just forgot. You going up to him and telling him off isn’t going to make it better. Trust me. I do not want him to harass or hurt you too. ” You were getting super overwhelmed. Your eyes burning, your vision going blurry, eyes watering.
“Hey, it’s okay.” Juliana said, rubbing her arms up and down your arms. She didn’t have the first clue of what to do other than report this. She just didn’t want to do it without your permission. It was wrong, but it wasn’t her place.
“Hey, can you give us a moment?” Kate asked her. Juliana nodded and walked inside the class but not without staring Nick down before doing so.
“Hey, look. I’m sorry. I didn’t meant to get all riled up over this. But you do need to tell someone, baby.” Her face dropped and immediately started turning red. She should’ve caught herself. It just slipped. You hadn’t noticed because you were avoiding looking anywhere and seeing him.
You hadn’t picked up on the name. Trying to focus on what she was actually saying instead of thinking of all the ways Nick could harm Kate. What did he mean by ‘it won’t be good for her either’ ? All you could think about was her safety.
“I’m sorry, what?” You looked up at Kate, your brows furrowing. Suddenly feeling the biggest migraine come on.
Kate’s face relaxed, sighing before grabbing your face. “I was just saying that we should go report him, and i’ll take you home. I’ll tell coach we caught something and don’t want to get the team sick. We—I just need to get you out of here. Okay? Can you do that for me?” Her eyes stared into yours, wordlessly pleading with you to choose your safety over thinking you’re a burden to someone else.
You nodded, looking behind her to see that Nick had left. He was gone. That’s when you felt a hand grab yours, fingers interlocking. Kate. Immediately you felt more relaxed, more safe. At home. No one could hurt you when you were with the people you loved and cared for. Who cared for you. The team, your friends, were your home. Kate was your home. Your anchor.
Nothing could hurt you, and you were going to do it together. Sending a quick text to Juliana, letting her know the situation, you and Kate started walking to the deans office. Kate sat with you, held your hand, and made sure you were comfortable while telling the dean everything Nick had done to you and said he’d do over the course of the two and a half years you had been here.
It was extensive. It started off so small that you didn’t notice that he slowly integrated into your life. He was obsessed with you. Stalking you. You didn’t realize until it was too late—til it got bad. You and Kate had found out he was a transfer, changing his whole major and career plan to follow yours. He had been to 6 different universities in the last 3 years due to ‘personal’ issues.
Turns out every formal complaint had been waived and disproven. You weren’t the only woman he’s done this to. It was crazy to think that of the many women, the countless evidence of severe mental disorders and psychotic behavior and harassment, he was still allowed into many other universities, was able to appeal the accusations and allowed to leave it behind him.
Kate was in better words, fuming. Her and the dean had gone at it, you trying to mediate before the dean resulted to benching her for her last season. You guys had been in the deans office for about 2 hours. Leaving just in time to send a text to Coach Bluder that you’d both be in absence at practice today.
You two had been walking, still hand in hand, back to your guys’ apartment. “Kate are you sure you want to miss practice today?” You looked at her, eyes still a little bloodshot from the crying you had done. “I can totally just go home alone and say I just didn’t feel good. I’m not on the team, you are.” She still looked upset and very irritated at the situation. She hasn’t said much since you both left. The second you spoke, her face softened. You tended to do that a lot; you changed her mood. Her mood affects yours and yours hers. And only you two could fix it for the other.
“And leave you alone? On campus where a crazy guy is stalking you and making you feel uncomfortable and unsafe? No way. I’d miss as many practices as you needed me to.” She smiled at you, squeezing your hand, before letting it go, and settling for wrapping her arm around your shoulders.
“Thank you, Kate. Seriously. I don’t know what I did to deserve you.” You leaned your head on her, arriving at your apartment.
“Of course. Anything for my favorite girl.” She kissed the top of your head, smiling to herself. She was grateful to have you in her life, she needed you just as much, probably more, than you needed her.
You both helped and healed things in eachother more over the last two and a half years of knowing eachother than anyone had for you both in your guys’ entire lives. “You didn’t do anything to deserve me, you know? Anyone would be lucky to have someone like you. Someone as kind, beautiful, smart, loving, caring, and gorgeous as you. Oh, did i mention you were pretty?” Kate laughed, her cheeks growing pinker by the second.
“Okay, Kate.” You laughed as she unlocked the front door, letting you walk in first. “Thank you. I appreciate you, and I feel the absolute same about you. Any girl who gets you, is the luckiest girl alive.” You smiled at her as you sat the on the couch, her in the kitchen grabbing you both water.
She smiled at you, before you turned to turn the TV on. When you looked away, her smile faltered. You looked at the tv, thinking about what she said. What you had said. You both cared for eachother so deeply. You couldn’t possibly be catching feelings for Kate. Was what you said too obvious…? You had known her for a long time, she was your best friend. That could ruin everything.
Could it? I mean, Kate thought about it over and over, watching your from the kitchen. The way your lips curled slightly when you watched the same reruns of your favorite shows. The way you always sat in the same spot on the couch, next to hers, leaving the perfect amount of room for her but also not enough so that you guys would be touching.
It was hard for the both of you to think this way about the person you have shared a space with for so long. Your roommate. Your best friend. You both needed to figure this out. But it was hard. You couldn’t possibly harbour feelings for the one person you both told yourself not to when this arrangement came to be.
Maybe that should’ve been the first sign. The sign that this living situation was doomed from the moment it was thought into existence; it was doomed from the start. How could you possibly set that boundary, silently in your guys’ head, that you guys couldn’t catch feelings. It would only have meant that you both could’ve seen this coming. I mean, neither one of you turned a blind eye to the other being attractive. Let alone, being eachothers type.
Kate brought you both the waters. Setting them down on the coffee table infront of you. Sitting down in her spot, next to you. You leaned your head on her shoulder almost instantly. Whether you had feelings for her or not, the comfort Kate had brought you was something you couldn’t describe. The need to have the feeling of Kate next to you seemingly growing worse with the feelings.
The familiarity was something you haven’t known since back home. So you essentially chased the feeling whenever you could have it. “Thank you for being there for me, Kate. I mean, truly. I already said it, but thank you.” Snuggling a little closer, bring one knee to your chest.
“Anytime, you know that. I’d do anything for you,” Her voice grew quieter at the end of her sentence. She meant it. “Besides, you’d be completely lost without me, sunshine. You need me.” She smiled when you landed a soft playful smack across her chest. She reached her arm over your shoulders, making you more comfortable.
“You’re right, I do.” You laughed before turning your attention to the TV. You both watched TV the rest of the night, deciding that you’d worry about the Nick thing more tomorrow. The dean telling you that it’d be handled very soon and quickly as possible. So, it was tomorrows problem.
As you both watched TV, you both thought over the fact you may be inlove with your best friend. It may be real and you’d both have to find a way to either move on or deal with it.
And fast.

you almost cry after finding out about your 4 days off. you’ve been working yourself to the core with dancing. of course it’s something you love but you really need a break. you decide to go your best friends house. you know he isn’t going to be be there but it’s fine because you’re just as close with his family. his mother always being there for you whenever you needed. today you could use the company. you knock on the door a couple times waiting for her to open the door. to your surprise your very handsome best friend opens the door with a big smile.
“get in here.” he pulls you into a big hug. “jae? you didn’t tell me you were free!” you roll your eyes at him, letting go of him to greet his mother. you hug her with a smile. “i came to see you.” you smile getting comfortable a little more. you wave to the other guys in the room. “hi guys! i’m y/n nice to finally meet you all. i’ve heard a lot.” jaehyun smiles as he introduces each of the members to you.
“yea we have heard a lot too!” haechan smirks at you and jaehyun, causing johnny and mark to snicker at him. “you’re so pretty!” jungwoo says after you compliment his outfit. you smile knowing that you two will be great friends. exchanging numbers with the guys as you and jaehyun basically have the same friends. jaehyun pulls your attention back to him when he grabs your hand.
“so you guys are friends?” yuta asks looking as you guys intensely. “yea- best friends.” you smile at jaehyun. they see right through what you guys are telling yourselves. “definitely.” doyoung says as he laughs at how red jaehyun got at the question. “okay! are you guys hungry?” mrs. jeong cuts the silence with a smile.
after dinner, you and jaehyun spent the night watching your favorite childhood movies laughing and fucking flirting. how could you not flirt with the boy? it’s hard having a hot best friend (a lot of people suffer from this!!!) he has you in his arms as he mindlessly rubs your sides. you are melting in his arms. “i missed you.” he says taking your attention from the movie.
“i missed you more jae.” you smile at him. he blushes hard at the gesture. “no like i seriously couldn’t wait to see you. i couldn’t stop thinking of you.” he holds you tighter. “ew you’re being cheesy all of a sudden.” you playfully push him away. “shut up you love it baby.” you choke on your spit. baby?? what the fuck he never calls you baby. obviously because you guys are just friends,,,,definitely! “im just messing with you.” he smiles at you innocently.
“you’re annoying.” he shakes his head. “you don’t really think so, you like me too much.” he kisses your cheek and at first it seems sweet until he moves his kisses down your jaw. “is this okay?” your breath hitches as he holds you in place. “jaehyun- what are you doing?” you look at him nervously. “tell me you don’t want this and i’ll stop right now.” he rubs your side gently. “no- i want this.” you nod at him and he smiles.
“relax baby.” he helps you out of your shorts leaving you in just your panties. your back is against his chest as you rest between his legs. “look at me- good girl.” he smiles at you pulling you to kiss him. “i’ve wanted you like this for so long.” his voice is quiet as it leaves his lips. he’s been trying to ignore his feelings as were you. anyone could see that you guys were more than friends.
“kiss me again.” you sighed against his chest. he chuckles a little kissing your cheek before turning your head to kiss your lips. you moan into the kiss as your legs spread. his hand snakes to your thighs rubbing it gently.
“jaehyun- touch me.” you whisper to him. he nods at you pecking your lips. you grab his hand to move it higher against your thigh. he just smirks at you teasingly. “you’ve been thinking about this for a while huh baby? my hands touching you like this?” he teases as he moves your panties to the side.
“look at how wet you are just from me talking to you.” you nod shamelessly laying your head back on him. you feel one of his fingers sink into your aching cunt. “dirty girl, you are soaking.” he smirks at you as he adds another finger inside of you. “feels so good.” you sigh at the feeling. he scissors his fingers inside of you making you moan out his name. “mm jaehyun-“ you start to squirm as you get closer to your high.
“yea, you gonna cum baby?” he kisses your neck as he curls his fingers. you cum undone on his fingers with a sigh. “fuck you’re perfect.” he pulls you into a kiss. “do best friends finger each other?” jaehyun asks with a laugh causing you to roll your eyes at him. “you ruined the moment.” he smirks at you. “come here baby.” he pulls you into his arms before smothering you in kisses. “i want you to be my girlfriend, not my best friend.”

SO, THERE'S THIS GIRL..........
A/N: Please check over this one too. It's kind of like the previous but can be read on its own too.
Pairing: Lee Minho x reader
Genre: Just fluff
Synopsis: Minho calls his mother to tell her about his new girlfriend
"Hello, Minho~ its been so long, my boy~~" Minho's mom sang through the phone, making him smile.
"I know, mom, how are you? how's dad?" he asked, shifting on the bed to get more comfortable.
"I'm fine and your dad's good too. He's feeding the cats for you. They have been missing you a lot!" His mother chirped, "You should come visit us soon."
Minho chuckled at his mom's enthusiasm. She was always so eager to meet him and actually did miss his parents and cats.
"I wish I could but the schedule 'is really tight these days. I miss Soonie, Doongie and Dori too. "He could feel his mother smile from the other side and it warmed his heart.
"It's okay. We're taking care of it for you," his mother said then paused ," did you want to tell me something?"
Minho felt his heart skip a beat. His mother had figured him out right away and he did not actually know how to start.
"Ahh......," she gasped, followed by laughter," is there someone in my son's life? Come on, tell me, who's the lucky girl, Minho?"
His mom's eagerness made him chuckle and his mind wanders back to you.
You were the girl in his life. Though he didn't know if that made you lucky or him. He smiled, looking out the window through his bed. The early morning rays had entered his bedroom and he had received a phone call from you early in the morning, wishing him a good day and telling him aboust your plans for the day as you got ready for work. He couldn't think of a better way to spend the morning and he can't help thinking what it would be like to wake up next to you.
Your little morning rant made his heart all warm and tingy and he knew he had to tell someone. Plus, it's been a while since he talked to his parents. So, here he was, hearing his mother's excited rant.
A sigh left his lips along with a smile. His cheeks flushed, getting a bit shy. His mother was always so supportive and even eager to hear him talk about a girl. She would instantly drop everything she was doing as soon as she heard a girl's name pop out of his mouth. Which wasn't very usual.
She would listen to him, give him advice and even tease him a bit until Minho got all red and refused to talk to her for 3 days. They had the kind of relationship everyone wished for and he will be forever thankful for having such a great mother like her.
"So..... There's this girl...." He trailed off, mind going back to you and the way you smile.
God, he was so in love with you.
He could almost see his mother smile through the phone, " What's her name?"
"(y/n). " He replied," And she has this eyes and this smile and her hair. I don't know what to say. She's just so sweet. And she also loves cats. "
"I feel like someone's in love here." His mother teased. If Minho was any younger and didn't know better, he would have blushed and denied. But this time, even he knew his mother was right.
He cleared his throat ," We started dating.... A month ago, actually."
"LEE MINHO!!!" Minho had to drag away the phone from his ear as his mother screeched ," why didn't you tell me about this (y/n) sooner? We're you trying to keep this a secret till you get her pregnant?! Are you already planning a wedding?! "
"Mom!" Minho scolds, his cheeks flushed at the thought and he heard his mother laugh.
"I was just joking, Min. But, tell me about her more.. when are you gonna introduce her to me?! Will she like me? "
"Relax, mom. She will like you. And I'm sure you'll like her too. "
"Of course! I already do," she beamed ," If she has managed to capture your heart, she sure is a kind and special woman. "
"Indeed, she is. " Minho agreed.
"Is she pretty? "
"Pretty? ," Minho scoffed," She's beautiful. In more than just one way. She's like you. Her cooking reminds me of you too. "
"Minho."
"Hm?"
"Don't let her go. For all the years I've known you, I have never heard you talk like that about a girl. Whoever she is, she is special. She makes you feel special. And most importantly, she loves you. Never let go of someone you love. Never give up on her. But if she chose to, let her go. Because love is never harsh and captive. Love is free. Love is for all. And I'm glad you found someone who made you understand love. "
A comfortable silence followed until Minho decided to break it, "I know, mom. I'd choose her happiness over mine any day. "
"Anyways, I have to go to practice. Stray kids code is airing tonight. Watch it. "
"I never miss a chance to see my handsome son. I'm so proud of you ."
"Okay then, I have to go. "
"Take care, Minho. And I hope I'll be receiving a wedding invitation soon. "
"Mom!"
With a chuckle, the line went blank. Minho smiled to himself, throwing the phone to the side.
He can't wait to marry you.

1. You get jealous because of another police officer flirting with Tim.
The best part of roll call is getting to sit beside Tim. You’ve had feelings for him for almost as long as you’ve known him, but Tim has never seemed open to a relationship like that. So, you are happy to be his friend and remain by his side until the time is right. Your other friends at Mid-Wilshire describe you and Tim as “inseparable” or “joined at the hip,” yet he seems oblivious to your attention and feelings toward him.
When you cross the threshold, you see someone in your seat. A beautiful woman is sitting next to Tim, in your seat, and leaning toward him as she speaks. She’s too pretty to be a cop, you think. Sergeant Grey enters before you can say or do anything, so you take a seat in the row before Tim. He looks up toward you but doesn’t say anything. When Wade reaches the podium and looks out at everyone, he stops and glances between you and Tim several times. His brows raise, but he remains professional and begins giving assignments to each officer.
“And I’d also like to welcome Mid-Wilshire’s newest officer,” Wade says before introducing the woman beside Tim as a transfer from another division.
Even her name is pretty. You fight the urge to turn and look at her, to get a better view. The jealousy you feel is, so far, unfounded. She didn’t know that it was your seat – technically, it’s not. When she starts whispering, however, your jealousy has the perfect opportunity to worsen.
“If you’d been my TO, I would have been a rookie forever,” she whispers to Tim. “How could anyone be okay moving on and away from you?”
“Easier than it looks, I guess,” Tim replies.
“Tell me something, how often do you get flirted with during traffic stops? Because if you pulled me over, I would happily provide my identification… and my number.”
You lean back and glance over your shoulder before immediately regretting it. She’s leaned over further, practically draping herself across the table to be closer to Tim, and her well-manicured hand is resting against his bicep. Looking away as quickly as you can, you set your jaw. People look at Tim, gawk, even, but this blatant flirtation is new, and you hate it.
When you stand after being dismissed, Tim says your name. You plaster on a fake smile and give him your attention, though you ignore the woman beside him.
“Meet us for lunch?” he asks.
“Ooh, will you?” Lucy adds as she walks toward Tim.
“Where are you going?” the new transfer asks.
Tim tells her the name of the restaurant, and your smile turns to a grimace.
“Room for one more?”
She sounds like she purrs when she speaks to Tim, and you hate it.
“Sure,” Tim answers. “It’s a popular spot among patrol cops.”
“Here,” she adds. She lifts his hand and scribbles something on his palm.
Without seeing it, you know that her number now has a new home on Tim’s skin. Your smile is long gone, and you can feel Lucy’s eyes on your face.
“You’re in, too?” Tim asks you.
“Not today,” you grumble before leaving. Enjoy lunch with your new friend.
2. You get jealous because of a witness flirting with Tim.
You’re just starting to accept that other women can flirt with Tim when you get a radio call from Lucy.
“We’re responding to the Redondo call and need backup. Are you close?” she asks.
“Yeah, I’m two minutes out,” you say.
“We’re code 2.”
You flip the sirens on and park behind Tim’s shop exactly two minutes later. Lucy is standing at the curb and watching Tim talk to a witness. She looks over at you as you approach and shakes her head.
“What?” you inquire.
“He’s trying to get information because the guy in the shop had a partner, but he took cover when we pulled up.”
“How’s that going?”
“It would be better if she’d stop flirting and start answering the questions.”
At the word ‘flirting,’ you tune Lucy out to listen to Tim’s conversation instead. He’s smiling and nodding along, but the woman isn’t saying anything of importance.
“And I just don’t know how to thank you. Big, strong… beautiful men like you are the reason that women like me can feel safe here,” she says.
“She looks like she’s twitching,” Lucy says when the woman bats her eyelashes.
“Thank you,” Tim answers with a smile.
He smiles at you often, but this smile is different. Your chest burns with new jealousy as the woman lays her hand on Tim’s chest and steps closer.
“I’m happy to keep women like you safe,” Tim says.
You cross your arms over your chest as if it will hide your growing jealousy. Whoever said jealousy makes you green was lying, because you look perfectly normal. To everyone but Tim, maybe, and he’s not paying attention to you.
“So, could you help me out with this?” Tim asks. His voice is soft and slow, and you wish he would talk to you like that, just once. “I really need to know where that other guy went, or I’ll feel like I failed you and every other beautiful woman in this city.”
You scoff before you can stop it, and Lucy looks between you and Tim.
“He doesn’t mean it,” she offers quietly.
“Have you ever heard him talk like that?” you argue. She doesn’t answer, and you say, “Me neither.”
“Look, Tim is bad at expressing his feelings, but he clearly has them. For you.”
You shake your head, but Lucy doesn’t want to give up yet. She watches you and Tim interact every day, so she knows how close you are. And how close you want to be.
“Chen, this is not the time,” you snap as Tim steps away from the suspect.
Tim’s brows raise when he sees you. He asks what you’re doing there, and you happily let Lucy answer that she called for backup to assist in the search for the second criminal.
“I think we’ve got it. The witness gave me good intel,” Tim says. “Thanks for coming so quickly, though.”
“No problem.”
You turn to return to your shop without another word, oblivious to Lucy and Tim watching you go.
3. You get jealous because of Lucy’s friend flirting with Tim.
Working at the front desk is your least favorite assignment, but you agreed to cover for another officer while he visits his son out of state. When Lucy and Tim enter with two new arrests, evidence of a prostitution problem spot, your day brightens. You sat in your usual seat beside Tim this morning and he promised to bring you lunch later, so things are looking up. They lead the women into the holding area, and you hope to see them again before the day ends.
“Hey,” Lucy says from behind Tim. “I know you’re gonna say no, but… I think I can help.”
“With what?” Tim asks.
“Well, you know, I know how hard it is to meet people in L.A. It’s what keeps them in business.”
“Wait. You wanna set me up?” Tim asks. “Forget it. Even if this wasn’t your dumbest idea yet, there is no way you’d be able to pick someone right for me.”
Lucy scoffs and argues, “I bet I can. I’m serious. If I can fix you up on one good date, just one, I get to, uh- I get to wear short sleeves.”
Tim considers the bet for a moment. “Okay. But you’re paying.”
“Whatever.”
“And if you lose, you’re gonna do 50 push-ups after every call we take.”
Several hours later, you’re still sitting at the front desk when Lucy comes in again. She’s alone this time, and you miss Tim more than you thought possible.
“Rachel?” Lucy asks.
“Look at you! All official,” Rachel replies as she hugs Lucy. “You were the talk of the reunion, you know.”
“I was bummed I couldn’t go. What are you doing here?”
“Oh, just trying to cut through some red tape. But so far, my scissors haven’t been sharp enough.”
“Problems with child services?”
“Yeah, civil standbys. LAPD needs a faster response time. I’ve had four go sideways in the last month. Hey! Maybe you can help me.”
“I- I wish I could, but I am below the bottom of the food chain here.”
“Boot, get a move on,” Tim calls from the doorway.
“Who’s that?” Rachel asks.
You give the conversation more attention once Tim enters the conversation. The last few days have not been kind to your emotions, and you hope that this isn’t going to add to the list.
“That is my training officer. Hey, uh, you’re single, right?”
“Mmhmm.”
“Would you want to go out with him?”
You drop the clipboard in your hand and hope Lucy catches your look of betrayal. She widens her eyes briefly, but you don’t understand what she’s trying to communicate.
“Uh, he’s hot… but I-I made a vow. No more jerks.”
He’s not a jerk, you think. You just have to know how to see who Tim is inside.
“Okay, so, you don’t date jerks,” Lucy says. “But how would you like to help me win a bet against one?”
“Boot!” Tim calls again as he walks out. “What’s the holdup?”
“I’m sorry, Officer Bradford,” Rachel interjects. “That was my fault. I was asking Lucy for some help with a social service problem I’m having. If I’d known I was keeping her from such a handsome man, I would have waited.”
Tim nods before turning to Lucy. “Grey needs the paperwork finished.”
“I’ll do that now. Bye, Rachel,” Lucy says before leaving.
“So, you’re Lucy’s TO?” Rachel asks. “I always pictured training officers as chubby, grey-haired ride-along partners who refuse to retire.”
You can’t see her face, but you’re sure she’s giving him a beautiful smile. Your eyes drop to a paper on the desk before you, and you get angry with jealousy. Tim is supposed to be your friend, and more someday. Why didn’t he ever care enough to see me?
“Is that not what I look like?” Tim asks with a smile.
“Not at all. Would you maybe wanna get dinner with me?”
“I was about to ask you the same thing. Are you free tonight? A woman like you has to be turning down offers left and right.”
“You’d know something about that,” Rachel replies. “Tonight sounds great.”
“I’ll see you then.”
You raise your eyes to watch Rachel leave. You don’t know that both she and Tim know that the date is for a bet, one Tim intends to win because he is uninterested in Rachel.
“How’s desk duty?” he asks.
“Fine,” you answer shortly without looking toward him.
“I’m going to get lunch; you still want something?”
“No thanks. I’m not hungry.”
Tim’s brows furrow as he looks at you, and he taps the desk before leaving. Maybe you should turn green, at least Tim would notice that he is affecting you more than any of the women flirting with him. And being flirted with by him.
4. You get jealous because of a suspect flirting with Tim.
“You’re under arrest,” you say, out of breath as you handcuff a kidnapping suspect after chasing him through a suburban neighborhood.
“Nice,” Tim praises as he exits the shop behind you.
“I’ll talk, I’ll talk!” the woman yells. “Everything I know, I’ll tell you. I’m not the kidnapper; I’m a woman for goodness’ sake!”
“Why did you run?” Tim asks.
She sits up with an awkward tug of the handcuffs. When she sees Tim standing at the curb, she takes a deep breath and looks up at him through her lashes.
“Officer, I was terrified,” she begins. “You have no idea what it’s like to be a woman – a single woman – here. When he told me to do it-“
“Who?” you interject.
The woman doesn’t look away from Tim as she answers, “My neighbor, Ben Charles. He asked me to let him, and his little girl, spend the night in my basement. How was I supposed to know that it wasn’t his kid?”
“You said you’d tell us everything you knew,” Tim says. “What else?”
“If I had a neighbor like you, I’d always feel safe. Although, I don’t think I would be home, much.”
Tim looks down at his boots before returning her intense gaze; he tilts his chin slightly and says, “I’m sure you’re a great neighbor. But I think you can be a greater help to that little girl. Her parents want her home.”
“I can imagine. I mean, I don’t have kids.” She licks her lips before adding, “Yet. But I want to help that little girl get home.”
Tim squats before her and lays a hand on her knee. “I’ve gotta take you in for evading arrest, but if you help us get that little girl home safe, maybe we can drop the charges.”
Easy for you to say, since you didn’t chase her through the streets, you think. Tim’s hand on her leg holds your attention, and you can’t decide whether to be angry or heartbroken. All the time you spent “waiting for Tim to be ready” has been wasted, because he’s ready now and not sparing a glance in your direction.
“I’ll be in the shop. I’ll fill in Grey,” you mumble before climbing into the passenger seat.
Tim takes most of her weight as he lifts her from the sidewalk, and you nearly rip the radio from the dash when you grab it.
5. You get jealous because of a neighbor flirting with Tim.
Tim’s house is the house to be at for game night. He has a huge, HD television, good snacks, and is always excellent company. Sitting on his couch and watching the pre-game opinions, you’re surprised to hear the doorbell ring.
“You made it!” Tim cheers as he opens the door. “Come on in. There’s pizza, drinks, help yourself to anything.”
You watch the doorway as Tim’s neighbor walks in. She’s never been to a game night before today, but that’s not what bothers you. Her hands on Tim’s shoulders threaten to make you uninterested in the game. Tim looks over and introduces you, and you shake her hand before offering your seat beside Tim. Once you’re in a chair by yourself, you can breathe a little easier. That ends when Tim sits beside his neighbor, and she leans against his side.
No game is worth this.
“So, I have a confession,” she whispers. You’re not sure why she’s whispering, because you can still hear her, yet she continues, “I’ve never watched a game before, and I have no idea what the rules are.”
“Seriously?” Tim asks. He leans forward to set his drink down and turn the volume up slightly. “I’ll explain what I can if you want.”
“I’d love that!” she gushes.
You keep your eyes on the screen, but you’re aware of her leg pressed to Tim’s, and her hand moving toward his abdomen as she presses her weight against him.
“How many sports did you play in school?” she asks.
“What makes you think I did?” he responds.
She giggles before running a finger along Tim’s bicep and over to the line between his pecs. “All these muscles. While I can appreciate them, I know they serve a purpose.”
“I am a cop.”
“So?”
“Yeah, I played some sports.”
Your phone buzzes, and since you can’t focus on the game anyway, you use it as an excuse to leave early.
“We’re almost to the playoffs!” Tim says as you stand.
“Sorry,” you reply. “I’ll watch the highlights. Enjoy the game.”
In the privacy of your car, you hit the top of the steering wheel. Why doesn’t he ever flirt with me?
1. You stop Tim from flirting with someone at a restaurant to admit your feelings.
The staff of the Mid-Wilshire division has had an incredibly busy week. When Wade suggests you, Tim, Lucy, Nolan, and Angela join him at a nearby restaurant to celebrate the wins of the week, you happily agree. Spending time with your friends out of work sounds like the perfect way to wind down after long days and sleepless nights.
“Oh my gosh, I need, like, six more of these,” Lucy says as she takes the last sip of the waiter’s recommended drink.
“Looks like everyone could use a refill,” Tim says. “This one’s on me.”
The restaurant is as busy as the police station, and your waiter encouraged you to get up and find him at the bar if you needed anything. When Tim stands, you offer to go with him and help him carry drinks. He nods and smiles before offering a hand to help you out of your seat. You don’t hear Angela and Lucy ask each other when you and Tim will make a move on one another.
“Any plans for the weekend?” Tim asks.
“A fifteen-hour nap,” you answer.
Tim shakes his head and taps his elbow against your back. He then moves his hand to the same spot to lead you through the crowd surrounding the bar.
“Hey!” your waiter greets over the noise. “Refills for your whole table?”
Tim nods and thanks him before leaning his forearm against the bar. His body is turned toward you, and you smile as you move closer, acting like the crowd is forcing the proximity. Someone bumps into Tim and says something that you can’t hear. He straightens and turns toward her, and you close your eyes against your building jealousy.
“I was going to apologize again,” the woman – who looks like she just left a Victoria’s Secret fashion show – says, “but now I’m glad I bumped into you, handsome.”
“Not that I would have complained before,” Tim begins.
“Tim!” you yell. He looks toward you quickly, and you press your lips together before asking, “Can we talk?”
A crease appears between Tim’s brows, and he nods before leaning over the bar. He asks the waiter to take the drinks to the table when he has time and thanks him again when the waiter says he will. Tim’s arm presses against your back as he leads you toward a side door. The noise and stress of the restaurant fade as the door closes behind you. You don’t give Tim a chance to ask what’s wrong before you turn to face him.
“What is so wrong with me?” you demand. “Why am I not good enough?”
“What are you talking about?” Tim asks. His voice is raised to match yours, but the genuine confusion on his face hurts worse because he doesn’t know.
“Why don’t you ever flirt with me?”
You are still jealous of every woman that you’ve seen Tim flirt with or accept flirtation from over the last few weeks. After all the time you’ve spent with him and the love you’ve shown him, you deserve to know why he ignores you.
“I-“
“No, Tim, just tell me! Because I love you and you don’t seem to care enough to even notice when I’m around!”
Realization about what you admitted hits you, and you drop your eyes to Tim’s chest. Pushing your feelings on him was never your intention.
“I’m sorry,” you say quietly.
You move to return to the table with your friends, but Tim reaches out and wraps a gentle hand around your wrist.
“It didn’t mean anything,” he says.
As you slowly raise your eyes and your skin burns beneath Tim’s touch, you see that his eyes are steady on yours. You have no reason to doubt him, nor do you want to.
“What didn’t?” you whisper.
“All of the flirting! None of it meant a thing to me.”
“Then-“
“The way that I talk to you, though? The time that we spend together? That means something.”
“But-“
“Let me finish,” Tim demands gently. He rubs his thumb over your knuckles and steps closer. “When I talk to other women, like Rachel and the witness last week, and accept their attention, that’s not flirting for me. That is not how I show my feelings or desires, whatever you want to call it, and it never will be. Talk is cheap, but time? That’s how I prefer showing people I care about them.”
You nod but don’t say anything yet.
“You’re jealous,” Tim accuses. “And while I can understand why, there’s no reason to be.”
“I’m not jealous,” you argue. He raises his brows, and you add, “Currently.”
“You never have to be.”
“Why? Because you’re telling me you prefer quality time to verbal flirtations? Because the last time I was at your house you seemed to be having plenty of that with your neighbor!”
“Is that why you left?”
“I thought you were explaining something.”
Tim rolls his eyes before raising his hands to hold either side of your face.
“Listen to me very closely, just for a minute. It meant nothing.”
You look down, and Tim huffs before pulling you against him. He brings your lips to his and does something that you’ve never seen before. You wanted him to flirt with you, but now you want to be kissed by him every day for the rest of your life. With his touch and the promise that the flirting didn’t mean anything, you know that your jealousy was unnecessary.
“Is that enough explanation?” Tim asks as he pulls back.
“Um, I may need just a little more,” you say softly. “I’m sorry that I yelled at you.”
“Jealous,” Tim teases.
“I don’t know how I was supposed to know that you didn’t mean it.”
“You get special treatment and are still blind to how I feel.”
Tim releases you and opens the door for you to enter first.
“How do you feel?” you ask.
“Hungry. Get inside. And don’t get jealous of Malibu Barbie at the bar; I was just going to say that I was glad she didn’t spill her drink on me.”
You purse your lips in offense, and Tim reaches forward to pull you inside with him.
“I’ll give you more explanation later, but only if you promise to trust me from now on. And, in the future, just tell me that you love me instead of getting jealous.”
You’re almost back to the table when Tim leans in and says, “Oh, and, by the way, I only flirted with Rachel right in front of you because I knew Lucy was trying to win the bet.”

You’re floating in the sea of darkness, floating around aimlessly. You can’t tell if your eyes are open or if they’re closed. You can’t move your arms or legs, and you feel like you’re underwater. The sounds around you are muffled, making it seem like you’re underwater. You have no recollection of how you ended up in this situation. Your mind is blank; no memories are rushing back to you. Your brain is a blank slate— the only thing you can recall is your name, and that’s it. Everything else? You have no memories of it.
Your ears twitch at the sound of faint cracking around you. Light gradually breaks through the endless darkness. The cracking gets louder and louder, and before you know it, the world around you is flooded with brightness, and you fall to the ground. Well, you land on top of someone. You open your eyes to see bright gold eyes staring at you with awe and worry.
“Are you okay?” The young blond boy asks, helping you up from the ground.
You rub your head and look around, dazed and confused. “Yes. I’m fine, thank you,” you reply hesitantly.
You notice a giant egg resting beside you, cracked eggshells on the ground and on your clothes. Did you come from that egg? You look at the young boy, who notices your confusion almost immediately. The blond boy smiles and rubs the back of his neck, his cheeks turning bright pink.
“I hope you don’t mind me waiting here for you to hatch. General Jing Yuan has spoken about you many times, and I wanted to meet you myself,” says the young boy.
General Jing Yuan? The young boy continues to ramble while you stare at him cluelessly, scanning your surroundings. This place… it feels familiar, but you don’t remember anything. You shake your head and rub your throbbing temples, sighing.
“Oh, I almost forgot to introduce myself! My name is Yanqing! I am General Jing Yuan’s retainer! I hope you don’t mind me being the first person you meet after being rebirthed,” says Yanqing, smiling at you sweetly.
You have many questions to ask, but it seems like your questions will be unanswered for the time being. Which you don’t mind. However, what bothers you is your lack of memory. Yanqing tilts his head to the side, gazing at you worriedly.
You snap out of your stupor and smile at Yanqing. “It’s nice to meet you, Yanqing. My name’s—”
“[Y/N], I know your name already because General Jing Yuan would go on and on about you,” Yanqing nods, smiling at you boyishly.
Cute. You want to pinch Yanqing’s cheeks until he smacks your hand away from his face. You smile at Yanqing, still confused about how he knows your name. Yanqing’s smile slips off his face when the realization hits him.
You brush off the look he’s giving you and point at the egg. “How long were you waiting for me to be reincarnated?”
Yanqing looks away, rubbing the back of his neck while giggling awkwardly. You cross your arms over your chest, gazing at Yanqing with amusement. Yanqing is like an adorable little brother who’s attached to his older siblings and is protective of them, but he doesn’t want to show it because he doesn’t want to be teased for it.
“Not long, but I would come here every day to check up on you,” Yanqing mutters, kicking a pebble close by and watching it clatter on the ground.
You press your lips into a thin line and pat Yanqing’s head. Yanqing silently fumes and turns away with a small huff, crossing his arms over his chest while puffing his cheeks out. You snicker and pull your hand back, sitting on the ground beside the egg you emerged from.
Yanqing sits beside you, looking at you curiously. “Do you really not have any recollection of your past memories?” Yanqing asks.
You shake your head. “No, I don’t have any of my past memories, Yanqing. Am I supposed to?”
Yanqing exhales slowly and leans back on his arms, kicking his feet back and forth as he debates on what to say. You’re a long-life species with draconic features— a Vidyadhara. Your hair cascades down your back as your tail sways behind you. Your tail and horns are a light pink, almost pastel pink. You look breathtaking, even more breathtaking compared to how General Jing Yuan described you.
You turn to look at the young boy beside you, who blinks at you before turning away. Yanqing hums and nods.
“Yes, you’re supposed to remember your past lives when you reincarnate. Many long-life species remember their past lives and their past lovers,” Yangqing says nonchalantly.
It must be nice to be able to remember your past lives and people in your past. Why is it different for you? How come you’re the only person (well, you’re assuming you’re the only person) who doesn’t remember their past life despite being reincarnated? Maybe you’re the odd one out.
“That’s unfortunate for me. I don’t remember my past life. I only know my name,” you sigh, leaning against the hollow egg you emerged from.
Yanqing hums, tapping on his chin. “Maybe General Jing Yuan can help you recover your memories!” Yanqing says.
You pucker your lips and hug your legs. It’d be nice to have someone help you “regain” your memories, but their memories will be different from your past memories. Then again, what do you know? You only remember your name, and from what Yanqing has told you, it sounds like you and this General Jing Yuan person have some kind of history with each other.
Your conversation with Yanqing was cut short when both of you heard footsteps approaching your direction. You and Yanqing get off the ground and turn to see a large group of people standing before you two. The four men look at you with wide eyes. You couldn’t help but notice they all have long hair, aside from the others in the group accompanying the four men.
“[Y/N]...” The man with long black hair whispers.
He, too, has horns sprouting from the top of his head. You look at Yanqing, who glares at the four men before standing in front of you as if he’s protecting you from the four newcomers and their guests. The man with white hair smiles at you and Yanqing ruefully. You place your hand on Yanqing’s shoulder, giving him a reassuring smile when he turns to look at you.
Despite giving Yanqing a reassuring smile, Yanqing continues to keep his guard up, glaring at the four men before him. You sigh and cross your arms over your chest, looking away from the four men. Everything to you is a mystery. Your past, the four men standing before you and Yanqing, your history with this General Jing Yuan person.
The white-haired man narrows his eyes at Yanqing. “Am I missing something, Yanqing?” the white-haired man asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
The man with long, dark hair chuckles bitterly. “It seems like your lapdog is protective of [Y/N],” he says, his red eyes landing on you.
Yanqing growls and holds his sword in front of him. You can’t help but stare at the ground, drowning out the sounds and voices around you. There are whispers in your head, whispers that are loud enough for you to assume it’s all around you. You bite the inside of your cheek, furrowing your eyebrows as you try to listen closely. The whispers are not only loud, but they’re incoherent. You can’t understand what the voices are saying, and it bothers you. Why are the voices loud yet quiet at the same time? You subconsciously reach your temples, rubbing them as a headache forms.
“[Y/N]?”
You snap out of your stupor and look up to see the four mysterious men (and Yanqing and the other guests) gazing at you worriedly. You blink and sigh, shoulders slumping. Could the voices be from your past life? Whatever the voices are, it’s causing you nothing but confusion and frustration. How long have you been spacing out?
The blond man looks at you worriedly. “What’s the matter? You look frustrated,” says the blond man.
You give him a sheepish smile, rubbing the back of your neck. “I’m fine,” you reply hesitantly.
The man with horns raises his eyebrows at you, looking at you worriedly. You’re not entirely comfortable with telling these men your situation. While they know your name, you don’t know theirs. Yanqing moves closer to you, whispering into your ears and telling you each of the men’s names.
“I don’t have much recollection of my past life, but I heard you all know me. Or I knew all of you,” you say nervously while playing with the billowing sleeves of your hanfu.
The white-haired man— also known as General Jing Yuan— nods and gestures for you and Yanqing to follow him and the other three men beside him. The pink-haired girl steps forward, smiling at you while shaking her legs nervously.
The pink-haired girl clears her throat nervously. “You may not know me, but my name is March 7th! But you can call me March! These two are Caelus and Welt Yang,” says March, gesturing to the older man with brown hair and glasses and the silver-haired man standing beside him.
You smile at the trio before walking ahead with Yanqing sticking by your side. You look around in awe. The more you walk further out of this place, the more you see things you have never seen before. Well, you probably did in the past, but everything is new to you.
Yanqing gently nudges you, glancing over at you. “What’s on your mind?”
“This place is hauntingly beautiful. Where are we, Yanqing?” You ask, passively looking at the other Vidyadhara eggs as you and Yanqing walk by.
How long have you been in the egg you have hatched from? The young boy beside you smiles at you and crosses his arms over his chest. You may have known Yanqing for less than an hour, but Yanqing can’t help but pride himself in being the first person you trust. Unlike the four particular men— well, three men, but he digresss— who have been anticipating your reincarnation.
“We are currently leaving the Scalegorge Waterscape! If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them!” Yanqing announces proudly, propping his hands on his hips.
You smile and pat Yanqing’s head as he leads you out of Scalegorge Waterscape with the others following behind. Scalegorge Waterscape is like another world to you— a secret world only certain people are allowed to know of its existence.
You hum softly. “How much do you know about my past life, Yanqing? You mentioned how General Jing Yuan would go on and on about me. What has he told you about me?” You ask, crossing your arms over his chest.
That piqued the three Xianzhou men’s interest and curiosity while General Jing Yuan’s smile slipped off his face. General Jing Yuan clears his throat as he slowly picks up his pace to catch up to you and Yanqing. Mostly Yanqing. Yanqing taps on his chin as he racks his brain, trying to recall what the white-haired General said about you.
Yanqing’s eyes light up. “Ah! I remember! There’s this drink on the Xianzhou Luofu, and it’s incredibly sweet. Whenever General Jing Yuan sees someone drinking it at the Seat of Divine Foresight, the General would be like, ‘I remember the time when [Y/N] would sneak out at night and buy Immortals Delight with Dan Feng. They were caught in the act by not only myself but by Yingxing as well,’” Yanqing says, mocking the white-haired General’s voice.
‘Immortals Delight?’ you mouthed to yourself, trying to remember what the drink looked like and what it tasted like for your past self to be obsessed with the drink to the point where you and this Dan Feng person had to sneak out and buy it. Yanqing continues to rack through his memories before smiling widely.
“The General would also talk about how the blooming flowers remind him of—” A hand quickly covers Yanqing’s mouth, shutting the young boy up before he can continue.
You stop in your tracks and look to see General Jing Yuan covering the blond boy’s mouth with his hand. You and General Jing Yuan lock eyes for a moment while Yanqing thrashes around in General Jing Yuan’s grasp, trying to remove the General’s hands from his face. You press your lips into a thin line and cover your mouth with your hands to muffle your laugh.
Mr. Yang smiles and looks at Caelus and March, chuckling. “It looks like the General has fond memories of [Y/N],” says the brown-haired man.
Caelus snorts. “Yeah, very fond memories of [Y/N],” Caelus chuckles.
After some time, General Jing Yuan releases Yanqing. Yanqing huffs and crosses his arms over his chest, narrowing his eyes at the white-haired General before scrambling over to you. Yanqing throws your arm around his shoulders, catching the others by surprise. You chuckle, and pat Yanqing’s head before the two of you continue your way toward the main entrance of Scalegorge Waterscape. While walking up the steps, Yanqing turns to look at the other four men— specifically Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, General Jing Yuan, and Blade— before sticking his tongue out at them and turning back around to start a conversation with you.
“I think it’s weird how, allegedly, long-life species remember their past lives, but [Y/N] doesn’t remember theirs,” the indigo-haired man says, propping his hands on his hips.
The blond man in armor rolls his eyes, crossing his arms over his chest. “It’s not ‘allegedly’ when there’s plenty of evidence about it, Sampo,” the blond man says.
Once you all arrive at the entrance of Scalegorge Waterscape, you turn to the others before scanning the surroundings once more. You don’t think you will be returning to Scalegorge Waterscape, or at least not in the near future.
A man with his hair in a half-ponytail speaks up, “Why do you look glum?”
You blink at him and the other unfamiliar faces. Caelus slaps his forehead before introducing you to the three extra people you weren’t introduced to— Sampo, Gepard, and Luka. The two men, Gepard and Luka, smile at you politely. At the same time, Sampo magically pulls a comb out of thin air, combing his hair before strutting toward you. However, before Sampo can reach you, Yanqing stands in front of you, pointing the tip of his sword in Sampo’s direction with a murderous glare.
“I wouldn’t get any closer if I were you,” Yanqing hisses.
Sampo holds his hands up. “Whoa there, little guy! I mean no harm!” Sampo says, smiling at Yanqing nervously.
Yanqing glowers at the nickname Sampo gave him before looking at the white-haired General.  General Jing Yuan chuckles, walking toward you, Yanqing, and Sampo. General Jing Yuan stands behind you and Yanqing, placing both hands on your and Yanqing’s shoulders while smiling politely at Sampo. On the surface, General Jing Yuan is calm. Still, on a deeper level, the white-haired General is mildly annoyed with the indigo-haired merchant.
General Jing Yuan clears his throat. “Yanqing, stand down. There’s no need for hostility. We’re all friends here, are we not?” asks the General.
Yanqing makes a dissatisfied noise before putting his sword away. Yanqing continues to glare at Sampo, propping his hands on his hips before pointing his index finger at the man.
Yanqing demands, “What were your intentions with [Y/N] when you approached them?”
You look at Yanqing, surprised. You look at Sampo and smile at him before patting Yanqing’s shoulders. Yanqing doesn’t budge and continues to glare at Sampo. You sigh in defeat and look at General Jing Yuan, who’s already staring at you. You visibly wince with surprise before quickly looking away from him, your cheeks getting hot while the General chuckles.
“I see the General’s feelings for [Y/N] have yet disappeared,” Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae murmurs beside Blade, crossing his arms over his chest while watching the scene unfold.
Blade huffs beside Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, crossing his arms over his chest and glancing at the horned man beside him. “I could say the same thing for you,” Blade says nonchalantly.
Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae ignores the look Blade is giving him, acting like he doesn’t feel or notice an obvious stare from the dark-haired man. Yanqing grumbles to himself before tugging on your arm and pulling you away from the group. You find yourself standing at the docks, doing what you have been doing since you hatched from your egg— look at your surroundings. It bothers you how familiar this place feels, but you can’t remember why.
“Ahem. Care to tell what’s been bothering you?” Luocha asks, now standing beside you as he gazes at the horizon.
Your gaze falls to the ground, feeling the sand beneath your shoes. You poke the inside of your cheek with your tongue and tap your fingers on your biceps, debating whether you should tell them what’s on your mind. As much as you wanted to say to them what was wrong, you’re sure the others already knew the issue.
You look up at Luocha, who stares at you intently with his sparkling green eyes. You look at the sun setting on the horizon, shoulders slumping as you cross your arms over your chest. It almost feels inappropriate to tell someone your problems, especially when you met them not long ago after being reborn.
“Is there a reason why I’m unable to remember my past life? I find it strange that I’m the only one who can’t remember their past life after being reborn,” you sigh, rubbing your temples.
Everyone looks at Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae, General Jing Yuan, and Blade. The three men look just as clueless as the rest. You sigh and smile at them ruefully, waving your hand in front of you while shaking your head.
You sigh, “You know what? Forget I asked that question. Maybe there’s a reason why I don’t remember my past life, and perhaps it’s for the best.” Realization soon kicks in. You turn to the audience behind you and Luocha (and Yanqing), eyebrows furrowing with confusion. “Now that I am reborn, where do I go from here?”
Caelus looks at you questionably. “Care to elaborate on that for the rest of us?” Caelus asks, propping his hands on his hips.
“Do I return to the Xianzhou Luofu, or do I go elsewhere? I don’t have a home per se,” you reply, playing with the billowing sleeves of your hanfu. “This is a new and strange concept for me— not remembering my past life and questioning if I belong on the Xianzhou Luofu.”
The rebirth cycle of a Vidyadhara is something you have never experienced. At least, that’s what you assume. The waves crashing on shore are almost deafening, loud enough to keep you semi-occupied from your thoughts. What did you do to deserve to be put in this situation?
Mr. Yang hums, stroking his chin. “Well, you are always welcome to the Astral Express,” says Mr. Yang.
You look at the brown-haired man curiously. The Astral Express, huh? Sounds like you will be going on lots of adventures if you board the Express. It does sound better than doing nothing on the Xianzhou Luofu, especially when you don’t have a place called home. March’s eyes light up, and she runs toward you, linking her arms around yours. For a brief moment, a flash of panic can be seen in Yanqing’s eyes as he reaches forward, ready to pull March away from you.
What stopped Yanqing from doing so was General Jing Yuan grabbing the young boy by the shoulders and shaking his head. Yanqing huffs and crosses his arms over his chest, grumbling while kicking a pebble close to his feet. March caught you off guard when she linked her arms around yours. You didn’t expect her to be bold enough to touch you (mainly because Yanqing would cut anyone who tried to touch you).
You hum, rocking back and forth on the balls of your feet. “I might consider it, but I’m going to stick out like a sore thumb,” you murmur, pointing to the horns on your head.
You know Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae has horns as well, but he can at least hide his appearance and present himself as a human like the others. You, on the other hand, don’t know if you can do the same. However, having horns and draconic features shouldn’t be a big deal other than dealing with the looks of curiosity from strangers and awkward stares when you make eye contact with the person.
Luka raises his hand to grab your attention. “I have a question. Since Dan Heng can change his appearance, can you change yours as well?” Luka asks, gesturing to the horns on your head.
You subconsciously touch your horns and chew the inside of your cheek. “I’m not sure, Luka. Even if I can’t hide my horns and draconic features, it’s no big deal,” you reply, smiling at the now-blushing man.
You and the others got on the boat to return to the Alchemy Commission. Despite reincarnating and not remembering your past life before being reborn, the Alchemy Commission feels almost as familiar as Scalegorge Waterscape. Although, you can’t help but feel grim when arriving at the Alchemy Commission.
“Does anything feel familiar by any chance?” Gepard asks, walking beside you.
You nod hesitantly. “The Alchemy Commission feels familiar, but I don’t think it’s a good thing. I can’t help but feel uncomfortable,” you reply, subconsciously rubbing your chest while looking around.
Aside from the Mara-struck roaming around the area, the Alchemy Commission looks eerie and empty. Unbeknownst to you and the others not of the Xianzhou faction, something tragic happened to you before your rebirth. Everyone is standing on the ground where you were ambushed and brutally murdered by someone you once trusted. You were lured to the farthest part of the Alchemy Commission, ambushed, and killed by someone you used to consider a friend. By the time Dan Feng (now Dan Heng), General Jing Yuan, and Yingxing arrived at the scene, they were too late. Stricken with anguish, Yingxing, General Jing Yuan, and Dan Feng tracked down your attackers and killed them all.
They remember clutching your lifeless body in their arms, trying to stop the bleeding despite you being dead at the scene. Your clothes are torn and bloodied, your hair matted with blood, and your skin stained with your own blood. The three men remember the giant gaping hole where your heart was supposed to be— crimson blood pooling around you on the concrete as you stare up at the three grief-stricken men with lifeless eyes. Perhaps it’s best for you to remain oblivious of your past. It’s better that way, no matter how much it hurts the three men who hold you close and dear to their hearts.
General Jing Yuan places his hand on your shoulder. “Wherever you choose to stay— be it the Xianzhou Luofu or the Astral Express, you are always welcome to the Xianzhou Luofu,” says General Jing Yuan.
You smile at the white-haired General. “Thank you, General Jing Yuan,” you whisper.
You stop in front of the Aureate Elixir Furnace, staring at the large crucible with curiosity. You hear whispers around you. You look at the people standing around you, wondering if any of them said anything. But none of them were speaking. They’re surveying the area, not saying a word.
“How strange,” you rub the back of your neck before crossing your arms over your chest.
You close your eyes and focus on the voice in the back of your head. The voices don’t belong to you, but the voices sound very angry and sad. The voices are gradually getting louder and louder. You squeeze your eyes shut and duck your head low, your hair falling over your face.
The voice whispers, “We shall reunite one day, [Y/N]. You cannot escape your fate.”
Fate? What’s your fate? Are you in danger by any chance? Could the voices be connected to your past, or does the voice belong to something or someone seeking possible revenge on you?
“Are you alright, [Y/N]?” Blade puts his hands on your shoulders, startling you.
You look up at Blade like a deer caught in headlights. You gulp and smile at him nervously, trying to act normal.
“Yeah! I’m alright! I’m trying to recall my past life, that’s all,” you lie.
Blade and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae look at you worriedly as you turn to Yanqing, who approaches you with a worried look. Great, more people to worry about you. Yanqing stands beside you and stares at Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae and Blade cautiously before turning to you.
Yanqing holds his arm out for you to take. “Are you hungry? If so, I know a few places on the Xianzhou Luofu that have amazing food,” Yanqing says, giving you a closed-eyed smile.
You smile at Yanqing and loop your arms around his arm. “I am feeling a bit famished,” you murmur.
Yanqing hums thoughtfully, tapping on his chin as he pulls you away from Blade and Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae. While Yanqing is listing out the food on the menu of the restaurant he passively mentioned, the group behind you follows closely.
Luocha looks at General Jing Yuan from the corner of his eyes. “You saw that, right?” Luocha mutters.
General Jing Yuan hums, nodding. “Indeed, I did.”
While your past life will be a mystery to you, the voices in your head seem to not want you to live your new life in peace. Whether the voices in your head are from the voices of those in your past life or are trying to warn you, there’s a strange feeling deep down in your gut, and you can’t put your fingers on it. Whatever it is, it will have to wait.
Note: I know a Vidyadhara has many features, but I like the draconic features. Therefore the reader has draconic features. Oh, and the color of the reader's horns... ///
Soft Spot
pairing: spencer reid x gn! bau! reader
Tumblr media
the bau was where spencer felt safe.
he could do his own stuff, mainly paperwork, and nobody would interrupt him. he was content and liked being left alone, nobody was getting to know him, and he liked it that way.
until you joined.
you joined the bau a sunny day in june, practically bounding in, brimming with exitement. you walked into the bullpen, your pin covered, beaten up backpack slung lazily over one shoulder. a man called derek was the first to greet you
“hey there cutie, what brings you here?” he folded his arms over his chest, the curves of his muscles clearly visable through his tight grey t-shirt.
“hi!” you beamed at him “um, i’m the new hire and i start today. do you know where i can find-”
“lemme guess, you wanna see hotch?” he cuts in
“i think so, aaron hotchner right?” you looked at the small buisnuess card in your hands, running your thumb over the embossed text reading ‘AARON HOTCHNER, UNIT CHEIF, BAU, QUANTICO VA’.
the tall tanned man giggled at your enthusiasm, and points to one of the offices up the side stairs. “hotch is up there. i’m derek morgan, by the way.” he held his hand out for you to shake.
“derek, cool, i’m (y/n), it’s really nice to meet you!” you grasped his hand, shaking it gently “guess i’ll see you round then!”
he smiled and watched you run upthe stairs to his boss’ office. you knock on the door, and there was a deep voice that shouted from inside.
“it’s open”
you twisted the doorhandle, and walked into his office. it was pretty big, and really neat and tidy. there’s a tall man behind the desk, sat writing something next to a pile of files
“ah, hello (y/n),” he said with a slight smile, leaning over his desk to shake your hand “i’m aaron hotchner, i’ll be your unit cheif here.”
you take his hand eagerky and shake it, smiling at him.
“i just have a form i need you to sign and i’ll introduce you to the unit.”
“yeah awesome, cool- i mean- yeah that’s fine. good stuff.” you said nervously, wanting to come off as profesional as possible.
back in the bullpen, derek sat at his desk as spencer walked up to him.
“is the new agent any good?” he says blankly.
“i don’t know, seemed pretty nice to me. but, we haven’t been on a case yet so no clue. why’d you ask pretty boy?” he looks up at spencer, who’s fixing his tie
“no reason, just don’t want someone on our team we don’t need.” he retorts, flattning the tie against his chest. before morgan can say anything back, spencer had already turned his back, walking to his own desk, and shutting everything out. penelope, who had walked past as she heard derek mention a new hire, hung back so she could ask him all about you
“who’s the new hire derek!” she asked exitedly
“some kid, i think you’ll get along. very bubbly and smiley, just like you princess” he smiled at the blonde, earning a giggle from her.
up on the balcony of the bau, hotch was stood introducing everyone.
“that there, is ssa derek morgan,” he pointed to derek, who you met earlier. “he’s the man if you’re ever on any case involving obsessional crimes”
“and girl covered in glitter talking to him is our technical anaysist penelope garcia, ” you looked down to derek’s desk, where a pretty blonde lady with a big poofy dress and chunky glasses was stood. ”she can find just about anything, so she’s always on hand in a case”
“and that over there is ssa jennifer jareau, who we call jj,” he pointed to a woman with long wavy hair, stoof talking to a woman with thick black hair. ”she’s our media and communications liason, so she decides what cases we go on”
“stood next to jj is ssa emily prentiss,” your attention shifted to the woman with the dark hair and bangs. ”she specialises in cases with children, and knows 6 languages.” this earned a whistle of admiration from you
“then you have ssa davis rossi,” he pointed to an older looking man who was reading something at his desk. ”he’s our most experiienced agent, and he’s a brilliant hostage negotiator.”
“and that over there is dr. spencer reid” he points to a very tall, very handsome man around your age, dressed in a button up shirt and purple tie, with unrully brown waves. ”he’s literally a genius, he has an iq of 187, and a photographic memory. but he’s not really one for friendships, he’s got his walls up.”
you frown slightly, but accept it. not everyone wants to be your friend, but you’ll be nice to him either way.
a few days had passed, and you’d gotten to know everyone really well, especially garcia who was so sweet to you, you could feel the cavities in your teeth. you were talking to her one day when she invites you to a bar later that night. because it was a friday and your first team outing so, you said yes. garcia gave you a big hug, and said she’d pick you up at 7 to take you.
after that, you finished some paperwork and headed to the elevator to go get the metro home, and to your surprise, spencer held the door for you, so you beam at him
“thanks spencer” you stand next to him, and rocked back and forth on your feet next to him, gently humming to yourself
“yeah, no problem” he gave you a polite smile, and looked down at his phone at his phone
the ride down was spent in comfortable silence, and as you left the lobby of the building, he turned the same way as you.
“you going to the station on 550?” you looked up at him as you walked side by side down the sidewalk
“yup” he said blankly
“cool, me too! i get off at leeland road.” you replied
spencer hummed, and said “oh, me too”
you smile as you look straight ahead, almost skipping to keep up with him
“so, how’s your day going?” you started to make small talk
“fine. you?” he looked into your eyes, taking in your features. he doesn't like people, he’s never liked people. he’s tired all the time, he just likes his own company, thats all he needs. nobody would understand the way he works. maybe his mom would. but maybe you would too. who was he kidding? no you wouldn't.
“yeah! yeah i’m good. exited to go out tonight,” you smiled contently, realising that you were really part of the team now. it felt good “not sure what i’ll wear. i don’t think i have any clothes clean i can wear. i also need to feed my cat. i should write a reminder. i should probably also do my dishes. oh and also water my plants. i don't know where i put the mister. i need to find that….” you start to trail off
spencer looked at you, your brain working so fast he can barely keep up
“sorry, i don't mean to ramble, that happens sometimes. i’m sorry.” you looked away from him awkwardly, the lump in your throat drying it out.
“no its okay, my brain works a similar way sometimes. i like organisation more though.”
the train pulled up in front of you, and you realised you’d been walking on autopilot for a while now, not entirely realising you and spencer had gotten to the platform. he continued to make polite small talk with you on the train, and when you got off, and when you started walking down the street
“welp,” you said, stopping outside your apartment block. “this is me. i’ll see you later on though, yeah?” you give him a smile and he nods, giving you a small wave as you walked into your building. as he walked away, he felt his stomach churn. he didn't know if that was good or bad.
now, you stand in your apartment, haven fed your cat biscuit, your socks scrunched at your ankles, baggy t shirt over your frame, and twenty five minutes until penelope got here. and you hadn't decided what to wear. to be safe, you pick out a nice button up and trousers, sliding on your converse. you grab a jacket, and as youre picking up your keys, a honk makes you jump. you rush out the door to see garcia, jj, and derek all in a red car outside
“hey hey hot stuff, hop in!” derek shouts at you. you clamber into the back next to jj, and make your way over to the bar. when you get there derek asks you
“what are you drinking?”
“um, i’ll have a lemonade please”
“not a drinker?” he raises an eyebrow
“only on special occasions”
he nods and walks to the bar, shorty returning to your guys’ table with a beer for him, a tall fruity looking concoction for garcia, and your lemonade. you’re sat between emily, and a very agitated reid. the night goes on slowly, all chatting away and laughing.
“hey genius, loosen up!” emily says over the music. in response, he just huffs, and swirls his straw around in his glass of water. you take a sip of lemonade, and nudge him with your shoulder.
“you okay?”
“loud” is all he manages to respond with, clearly not enjoying the setting.
“we can go outside if you want”
he nods, and you two stand up. you tell derek you’re going outside with spencer, and to keep an eye on your drink
“you got it” he gives you a thumbs up, and shuffles back into the booth.
standing in the cold, you cross your arms, the gentle pounding of bass coming from inside the bar
“hey uh- thanks for coming out with me.” he says to you. his gentle hazel eyes meeting your own, his hair tucked behind one ear, as it was starting to get quite long. you think its cute.
“yeah, of course, its nothing. i don't like it in there either to be honest, my head cant handle it. its a lot.” you give him a half smile and see him pacing a bit.
“i get that” he says, clearly agitated
“do you want to go home? i can call you a cab if you want. we can go back to my place and i can make you food if you’d like”
“if you don’t mind, that’d be nice”
this time when he smiles at you, it’s genuine. not like when derek makes a joke and he smiles to show he’s listening, not like when he smiles at emily when she brings him coffee thats cold. no, this was real.
a few minutes later, the cab arrives and you tell the driver your address. spencer’s leg is bouncing as he looks out the window. you pull up in front of your building, thank the driver and pay, and walk up to your apartment.
“here we are,” you unlock the door “home sweet home”
you kick your converse off, having to shake your ankle a fair bit. you hang your jacket up, and spencer does the same. sitting on the couch is biscuit who stands up and arches her back, slightly meowing.
“hey baby!” you smile at her and scratch her chin. spencer looks over at you as you kneel in front of her. he thought you looked really nice. he wasn’t going to tell you though.
“your apartment is nice.” spencer says, sinking into your leather armchair in front of your bookcase
you smile at his remark, attention still on biscuit. your apartment is pretty simple, just a few pictures hung up and pretty colourful furniture. after fussing over your cat, you make yourself some tea and some coffee and a bowl of soup for spencer. you add milk, and like seven spoons of sugar to his coffee, which you’re sure was too much but you’d seen him make his own before and that’s how he makes it, so he must like it. you set the coffee and soup down in front of him, and sit down on the couch, tea in hand. he takes a small sip from big mug and smiles
“hey, how did you know how to make my coffee?”
“observant, i guess”
“nobody has ever made it like that for me before”
“well, i guess im not nobody” you shrug, and stand back up again, walking into your bedroom to put on some pj’s.
after three minutes and forty two seconds, he counted on his watch, you're back in some sweats and the same t shirt from before.
“oh shit i forgot to ask, do you want some pjs? i mean, that is if you want to stay over, you don’t have to”
“if you’re offering” he smiles at you, and you walk back into your room to grab him a t shirt and some grey sweats from the bottom of your drawer. he chants, and walks back in. you notice his socks, they’re odd. one has pink and blue squares on, the other is green with a dinosaur pattern. you smile.
after a few hours of just talking about books, and live, and family, and everything inbetween, you head to bed, and spencer climbs in next to you. he’s so gentle, barely dipping the bed.
“i’m not made of glass you know spencer, you can make yourself comfortable.” you giggle a bit at his tense body.
“yeah, okay.” you feel his body shift on the mattress, clearly more relaxed. you switch on the lamp next to you and lie down, wrapping yourself up and wallowing in spencer’s cologne- it smells like wood and coffee. you hum, and drift off. as you sleep, he watches your chest rise and fall, enjoying the frequency, and just knowing that you understood him.
the morning comes around, saturday sunlight seeping through your blinds, a gentle chirp can be heard outside as your eyelashes bat awake. you look over and see spencer, hair strewn over his face, eyes closed, and mouth slightly smiling. he’s breathing very steadily, he looks peaceful. you gain full conciseness and realise your legs are entangled with his, and you feel heat rise to your cheeks. you prop yourself up, and check your phone. the bau group chat has 4 unread messages.

I love your whole dynamic with innocent reader and elvis, so I had this idea and was wondering if you found it inspiring and wanted to write something on it, only if you want to, I'll love whatever you write even if it's not this haha <3 But because the Memphis mafia knows that Elvis cares about reader a lot and knows Elvis likes it when the mafia distances themselves from reader maybe when they invite a friend whose not familiar with the terms that come with being around Elvis and reader to Graceland the friend oversteps one of the boundaries that Elvis usually has set for the mafia. It could be anything like maybe the guy hurts reader's feelings or makes her uncomfortable, or is too nice to her for Elvis' liking, etc!
LOVE this, thank you so much! 🧚 Masterlist 🧚 Word Count: 2,790

Of course Elvis wanted you to be happy, he wasn't a monster, but he drew the line at your happiness coming from another man. If this made him selfish then so be it, he could live with himself being selfish if it meant he was the only source of your happiness.
But this meant there were guidelines for the Mafia, so to speak. He'd had a word with Jerry, who Elvis deemed to be the most understanding of the group, to pass on the message and make it known that whilst no-one should ignore you, you certainly shouldn't be entertained by anyone but Elvis.
Naturally, being the sweet and somewhat dumb little thing you were, you had no idea that there was this unspoken rule in place. You simply thought the Mafia weren't very fond of you so you liked to stay right by Elvis' side, just where he wanted you to be.
You'd actually voiced your concerns to Elvis, expressing to him how you felt a bit nervous in a group with all of them but Elvis would always softly assure you that, "Of course they like ya honey, who wouldn't?". But you were still never quite convinced.
So when all the Mafia and their partners were over at Graceland for a summer cookout, and Charlie Hodge had brought his friend Jonny for the first time, you were absolutely determined to make a good impression and try and make a friend out of him.
You and Elvis both loved cookouts, you enjoyed hosting and Elvis would always praise you for being his "pretty lil' hostess" and making sure no-one ever had an empty drink.  "Elvis, Y/N, this is my friend Jonny, he actually flew in from Texas this mornin', the son-of-a-bitch basically begged me to bring him here!" Charlie joked, the cursing making you flinch a little.
You didn't like it when people cursed. For you, cursing was just a sign of aggression that you'd only experienced as a little girl from your father after he'd had maybe one too many whisky's. Elvis knew about how cursing had become a bit of a trigger point for you, he'd promised to never curse at, or around you.
"Well..." Jonny chuckled with his face growing beet-red at Charlie exposing his desperation to come to Graceland. "Wasn't quite like that was it, Char?" Jonny stammered uncomfortably.
Elvis, always being the best host, eased Jonny's embarrassment, offering him his hand to shake as he introduced the two of you and welcomed Jonny to the cookout. You squeaked hello, giving Jonny a cute little wave you held Elvis' hand with your other hand.
The cookout was going brilliantly, and of course it would, with Elvis cooking and you making sure everyone's drinks were full, the afternoon was always perfect.
Once you were satisfied that everyone had been accommodated, you dashed back into the kitchen, getting ready to prepare the next jug of homemade lemonade for your guests.
"Need a hand?" A low voice asked, making you jump and giggle as you saw Jonny in the doorway to the kitchen.
You offered the man a beaming smile, eager to not have another member of the Mafia become hostile to you. "Oh! Um, it's okay, but thank you! That's real kind of ya, sometimes it's a bit crazy but, um, I think everythin' is under control really! D'ya want another drink or somethin'?" You offered sweetly.
"I'm okay love, y'know, Elvis sure is one lucky fella to have you as his girl." He admitted, making you blush at the sudden compliment.
"Oh well, I don't know about that, I think I'm real lucky to be with Elvis. He's so talented and kind and all, and I'm just-" You paused, chewing on your lip. "Well, I'm just me, s'pose."
Jonny could tell that you were a shy, insecure and innocent little thing, in fact, anyone who met you could see that in you. You couldn't read social cues as well as others, even now, it was going right over your pretty head that Jonny was trying to pursue you and had less than favourable intentions towards you.
"Well, I think 'just you' is quite alright doll. Hell, more than alright, even Charlie was sayin' in the car on the ride up here about how beautiful and sweet you are and he sure as hell weren't lyin'." Jonny said, making you blush a little as he walked towards you as you stood by the counter.
A soft giggle left your lips at his words. You thought he was being awful silly, Charlie barely spoke to you. "But Charlie doesn't even speak to me!" You giggled. "He wouldn't say that!"
Jonny looked down fondly at you. He'd read things about you in the paper and heard multiple stories about you from Charlie and it was never really the King that Jonny had wanted to meet, no, it was you - the King's little princess.
You started to feel a little nervous at how close he was to you, but you tried to brush the feeling aside, figuring that he was just being friendly and oh boy, you really were desperate to get on Mafia's good side and have at least one 'guy friend' of the lot. And even if Jonny wasn't really in Elvis' circle, it was a good enough start you supposed.
"I'd say you were probably the most beautiful girl, I've ever laid eyes on." Jonny said, making your eyes widen at how forward he was being.
"Oh, um, gee, that sure is kind of you." You said softly, nerves bubbling up, no-one but Elvis spoke to you like this.
"And I sure don't wanna miss an opportunity like this, to be in the presence of the most beautiful girl I've ever seen and not even try n'get a kiss outta it." Jonny muttered lowly, wrapping his big arms around you, locking you into him as your heart rate picked up and panic quickly set in.
"No, no, I don't wanna give you kisses, no I don't kiss no-one, just Elvis, no." You stammered, suddenly very frightened as you tried to wiggle away in his hold.
Your breathing quickened as your tears began to fill your eyes. "Oh honey, it's just a kiss, you're really gon' deny me one lil' kiss?" Jonny chastised.
You gasped in shock and immediately jolted away as he leaned in towards you, attempting to kiss you as you began to wrestle and thrash in his grasp, desperate to get away from him. Still, it was useless, he had a tight grip on you.
You didn't know what else to do but elbow him as hard as you could, causing him to cough loudly and stumble backwards, letting you go as he held a hand up to his torso where your elbow had hit him. You couldn't help but feel bad, even though you knew it was the only thing you could do, you just panicked, the interaction scaring you so much.
Suddenly, Jonny's demeanour wasn't as friendly and affectionate as it had previously been, his eyes dark as he spat on the floor in front of you, a scowl on his face. "You little bitch." He spat, making you flinch, before turning his back on you and exiting the kitchen without giving you another look.
You exhaled in relief as he disappeared as the tears began to roll. There were so many emotions travelling through your mind. You sat down at the little table in the kitchen, covering your face and letting out the soft sobs before you decided you needed to gather your composure.
There was no way you'd go back to the party, not yet anyway. No, you decided you were going to stay put and try and stay as composed as you possibly could. Everyone always looked forward to a cookout and you didn't want to upset anyone by ruining it, even if it wasn't you that had spoiled everything.
For the next half an hour or so you kept yourself preoccupied with little tasks, from polishing some silverware that you were going to use for dessert later on to organising flowers that you'd picked in the morning.
"Hey there baby, where ya been gone? Yer missin' the food little one." Elvis said, sauntering into the kitchen, a tone of concern in his voice, you'd not appeared in the garden for quite some time which was unlike you, you loved being in the garden and the sun for the cookouts, chatting to all the other women about all sorts of things and standing by Elvis has he cooked the meat, making sure you were doing your best to help by offering to pass him any utensil he needed, just like the good girl that you were. "You okay, honey?" Elvis checked.
"M'okay..." You said softly, focusing your attention on the flowers you were putting into a vase, flowers that you thought were awful pretty lookin'.
Elvis studied your face as he realised you were avoiding eye contact and trying to distract yourself from something with your pretty flowers.
Elvis sighed a heavy sigh before you felt yourself being spin to face him, as he then picked you up from under your armpits and sat on the counter, right next to your flowers and opposite Elvis.
Naturally, it was no secret that there was a size difference between you and Elvis and he'd always been able to overpower you and man handle you and in truth, you didn't really mind. No, you didn't really mind when Elvis would just suddenly pick you up and place you in his lap, or pick you up and spin you around after a show, you just felt looked after but on occasions like this, you did wish that he wasn't able to play with you like a rag doll.
"Now, baby, you know I can't help you feel all good n'better if ya don't tell me what's botherin' you, dontchu?" Elvis cooed, placing a finger under your chin and tilting your head up so that you could look at him.
You gulped a little, nervous when you were put on the spot like this, but you nodded compliantly, of course Elvis was right, he was always right.
"Shall we try that again then hm?" Elvis asked and you nodded once more, your eyes becoming ever so glassy with little tears threatening to trickle. "What's got my little love all quiet and sad?"
You opened your pink, plump lips but a heavy lump in your throat sabotaged you, leaving you unable to voice what had just happened to you. You swallowed the lump in your throat and tried again, Elvis gently rubbing your arm, his concern growing as he watched your state become more and more fragile.
"Y'know Charlie's friend, um, J-Jonny?" You feebly said, you voice barely louder than a whisper. Elvis simply hummed in response, letting you continue. "He um, h-he, well, he was bein' real' friendly see, and, u-um, well I was chattin' to him and then he tried t'kiss me, and, and, I promise I wasn't tryna be a flirt, I p-promise," Your voice cracked at your words, your fear that Elvis would somehow think that you were leading Jonny on, but Elvis knew you were telling the truth the moment the words left your lips.
See, Elvis knew what a good girl you were, you wouldn't hurt a fly nor would you dare lie to him, the only time you'd lied to Elvis was for his birthday when he correctly guessed the present that you were getting him was his favourite cologne. You lied and told him he was wrong to keep up the surprise but the guilt of lying to Elvis wracked through you which you'd eventually told Elvis, and you'd even asked him to drop you off at Confession as you just felt so bad for the white lie you told.
So there was no doubt in Elvis' mind that the little thing that was all sniffly and shy in front of him, would even think about flirting with any other man. He did however believe the idea that a man that was unfamiliar with the guidelines Elvis had set out regarding you, finding you irresistible and vulnerable enough to try and take advantage of you.
"Ssh, baby, it's okay, I know you were just bein' polite honey, dontchu worry about that." Elvis hushed, tracing his fingers along your hairline, trying to soothe you and trying to be as gentle with you as possible, even if there was a hell of a lot of anger bubbling up inside him.
He watched as you visibly seemed to relax a little at his reassurance, but the ordeal had clearly overwhelmed and scared you.
"Can you tell me what Jonny did to you, baby?" Elvis asked you as you nodded your head shakily, using the sleeve of your top to wipe away stray tears, something Elvis would've scolded you for if it were any other occasion.
"H-He, um, he tried to um, to kiss me Elvis, and I tried to push him away, but he wouldn't, he wouldn't let me go and I elbowed him, and I f-feel, I feel real bad about it because I didn't wanna hurt him, I promise Elvis, I r-really promise but um, it was just so s-scary, I just got scared, I didn't know what to do, I didn't wanna kiss him, I only kiss you." You cried softly and oh, how Elvis' heart broke.
He blamed himself, he should've known better than to let a stranger into your home together.
"Then, um he, he called me the 'b-word', I don't wanna say it, but you know the one-" You stopped speaking when Elvis nodded, understanding exactly what you were saying. "And then he left and I was just, I guess I just got scared he was gonna tell you I hurt him and I didn't mean to, and I just got upset, I just wanted to make a good impression and make friends with him." You let out a wobbly sigh, exhausted by what had happened. "I just wanted to make friends, m'sorry, it was just the first time one of the guys seemed to like me and I s'pose I just misunderstood." You trailed off, so sad that your attempt at making friends with a guy had backfired so much.
"Oh dolly, you didn't know any better, did you?" Elvis cooed as he looked down on you. You were a teary albeit beautiful sight to behold. You shook your head in agreement. "He clearly had bad intentions baby, just tryna' take advantage of my little girl."
"I don't think I should have man friends no more." You said gently. "I just wanted some more friends, but I think I should only have girlfriends, I don't wanna be friends with no more guys no more I don't think." You said softly, babbling your thoughts out loud, but it was music to Elvis' ears hearing you believe you shouldn't be surrounded by any men other than him.
"I think that's a very good idea little one." Elvis agreed, cupping your face in his large hands. "I ain't ever gon' let you be in a situation like that again, never." Elvis promised you, his tone so, so serious.
"Now, I don't think you're in any fit state to be entertainin' sweetheart, and I ain't exactly in the best o'spirits right now, so you're gon' head on upstairs f'me, get undressed and get the bathtub goin', I'm gon' tell all of them outside that party's over, they all gotta go, then I'm gon' come find you and give you a bath and then we're gon' go to the Jungle Room and watch whatever you wanna watch on the television set, okay? Just us." Elvis said and you nodded, certainly liking that idea far more than going outside and being faced with Jonny again, although you did feel bad for ruining the cookout, even if Elvis would later assure you that it was not your fault in the slightest.
Elvis pressed a kiss atop your head before allowing you to jump down from the counter, doing as you were told after cuddling Elvis and running upstairs to yours and Elvis' room.
As the tub was getting full with water, you couldn't help but peek out of the curtains, watching as each of the guests departed.
The last guests to leave were Charlie and Jonny and even though they were in the car and a little hard to see, you could've sworn Jonny was driving away with a busted lip and black eye. But when you asked Elvis about it nervously, he reminded you that you'd had a very overwhelming day and you weren't thinking straight and you nodded, realising that he was probably right.
Elvis was always right.

shot at the night series.
pt. two - the hellcat spangled shalalala
your name is a drawstring laced around my neck, tighter with every breath.
You had approached him first, after your prof caught you off guard with an outlandish take. You glanced over to Jason with your confused and slightly mortified eyes at the rather dated opinion, unable to stop the grin from spreading over your face as you both chuckled a little too loudly. A few people shot looks your way, and you mouthed an apology to him before you both turned back to your notes. Jason thought that had been it, sure you two always sat a chair away from each other and were in the same tutorial and you always smelled so good when he’d walk by, but you were a passing figure in Jason’s life.
Or you were supposed to be until you stopped him at the door, fingers darting out to brush his forearm before you dropped your hand to your side. You offered an apologetic smile while Jason stared at you a little wide eyed.
“Hey, sorry. I just, I dunno. Anyway we were in the same tutorial yeah? And I thought I’d introduce myself. In case we need notes or help or something.” You said, giving him your name while Jason nodded slowly.
A moment of silence passed, you blinked up at him and Jason laughed, “Oh, uh I’m Jason, and yeah sure.”
“Yeah sure? You don’t have to agree if—“
“No—I didn’t mean it like that,” He interrupted with wild urgency before composing himself, “It’s nice to meet you and yeah that’d be great. Thanks.” Jason offered you a grin and your furrowed brows settled.
“Okay, well here’s my number. See ya around Jason!” You beamed at him like you hadn’t been accusing him moments ago, slipping out the door and off the whatever class you had next. He glanced down at the ripped piece of paper with your number. Who gives out their number like this anymore? He thought to himself, shoving the piece of paper into his pocket and ignoring how much he liked the way you said his name.
~
It was a steady friendship after that, you liked having someone outside your usual circle, someone to help with class and Jason liked you. He knew after a few weeks of consistently hanging out, usually in the library or empty lecture halls, but sometimes in your dorms. Sitting side by side in your bed or sprawled out on the floor in Jason’s single room were moments seared into his brain. Private and quiet in those small spaces, especially in your shared bedroom, that demanded close proximity. Maybe he should have put the pieces together then, fully coming to terms with his onslaught of feelings for you, but it took a boring day in the library for Jason to fully clue in.
You were sharing a booth and Jason was letting you copy his notes from the lecture you missed last week. You were close, typing with silent intent while Jason took in your side profile. The soft curve of your cheek, your lashes sweeping each time you glanced between screens and lips plump and wet from your tongue running over them out of habit. Jason knew he was staring, but he couldn’t bring himself to stop.
When that crossed Jason’s mind, something tight bit into his chest as he realized no one admired their friends like that. He had always thought you were cute, and a nice presence to be around, but that warm feeling you fostered in his chest felt different—heavier when you looked up at him.
“Done!” You chimed, breaking Jason from his realization with your sweet voice. “Thanks again. I might need help studying this chapter when the final comes up but I should be good for now.” You closed your laptop, shuffling your books into your bag and letting Jason know your time together was coming to an end. He felt selfish for wanting more time with you, but you had already told him when you flopped down that you wouldn’t be able to stay long. Jason had tried not to appear annoyed then, but couldn’t care less now as he closed his laptop with a bit too much force. It garnered your attention as you glanced over at him with concern, “All good?”
Okay maybe he did care.
“Uh, yeah, yeah.” Jason nodded absentmindedly and hated how nervous you made him. How could he not see it before, the way words seemed to stick to the roof of his mouth and coherent thoughts flew out the window each time you two studied together. How it got worse when you were close, leaning into him or slapping his arm when he was criticizing one of your papers.
“Oookay,” You said it like you didn’t believe him before turning to face him fully, “One of my friend’s boyfriend or something works at a bar so my friends and I are going there tonight if you wanna join. I know its not really our thing, but we didn’t get to hang out today so.”
Our thing. Jason liked how that sounded, the implication of it. Like time spent together and even Jason himself was your own private little thing, it was special and not to be shared. It was a dangerous way to think of your friendship—of love—but Jason burned hotter at the thought regardless. And with you being scorned by your lack of time together as well, it all made something wicked pour into Jason’s chest as he a grin lit up his face. The guilt of having to cancel on Roy vanished immediately as he nodded.
“Yeah, just text me the details.”
You smiled wide, arms thrown around his shoulders as you hugged Jason for the first time before leaving him breathless amongst the shelves of books.
~
Jason almost pussied out, a block away from the bar and filled with dread. He questioned why he had agreed when this was the first time you two would be together outside the pretense of school work, on top of coming to terms with his feelings for you. And while studying together never meant solely talking about school, you two chatted about growing up in Gotham and dealing with being away from home. You both loved food and had a habit of showing each other what dishes you made the night before. You were also fond of baking when you visited friends' apartments, and would him banana bread or lemon squares on top of a coffee some days. You had asked his drink order the first time you two had hung out, and would always text him when you were running late if he wanted anything.
He would always say no and you would get him a drink anyways. “It’s my late tax.” You shrugged once, leaving him a bit speechless at how nonchalant your ability to care was.
Relishing in those moments made Jason breathe a bit easier, stuffing his hands into his leather jacket’s pockets and continuing down the street lamp lit road. He could hear muffled chatter and music playing as he neared, and despite wanting to sneak in without detection, you were outside sharing a cigarette with a friend and laughing amongst yourselves. You spotted Jason over your friend’s shoulder, immediately abandoning your conversation in favour of greeting him. Pride boasted in his chest, but it was quickly overcame by affection as you half ran, half drunk waddled over, arms wrapping around his waist before he could even breathe out a hello.
“I’m so happy you showed up.” You muttered into his jacket, pulling away just as Jason went to wrap his arms around you. You blinked up at him in the dopey sort of way, and it made him smile.
“You been here a while?” He asked, your brows pulling together.
“Are you saying I appear intoxicated Jason?” You teased, his name always sounding so right when you said it, especially now. Low and teasing, heavy with whatever you had drank.
“Depends, you always use big words when you’re drunk?” He jutted his chin at you, calmness flowing into his chest. Jason felt stupid for being worried, when he wasn’t so caught up in how you made him feel, you brought an ease out of him. A playfulness that sometimes left him tripped up and face hot, but you never seemed to notice.
“Pfft, you haven’t even heard the big words I know Mr. Literature Major.” He rolled his eyes, as you poked his chest. Your name was called before he could think of a response, both of you turning your attention towards the bar.
“Oh you can finish it, it's fine.” You waved your hand at your friend holding your smoke, more focused on Jason as you slipped beside him. You linked arms, leaning your weight into him as you headed towards the entrance. “Everyone’s inside, sorry if I reek of smoke.”
“I don’t mind.” He murmured, looking down at you and wondering how easy it would be to press a kiss to the top of your head. To lean over and—
“Oh by the way—“ Your voice pulled Jason from his thoughts, and he realized he was being introduced to the friend you were smoking with. He’d be hard pressed to remember her name, but she seemed nice enough. Jason had to force himself to be present as your arm slipped from his, and a chorus of voices greeted the two of you. You introduced everyone first, he was normally good with names and faces, in seas of people or gatherings like this, but Jason felt otherworldly. The only presence he felt grounded to was you, sitting next to him with one of your legs crossed over the other, calf brushing his shin as you told everyone how you two met.
“Wait—don’t you play for the basketball team?” One of your guy friends suddenly asked, and for some reason Jason immediately looked to you, to find you staring right back at him with a confused expression.
“Oh yeah, I’m starting this season—“
You slapped his arm with a shocked chuckled, “You have never told me that! What the hell!” You yelled, not louder than the chatter filling the bar as no one even looked your way. Everyone laughed as he shrugged, running his fingers through his wavy locks while you eyed him.
“Yeah I remember seeing a post with you, I think I remembered your hair.” Your friend continued, making you laugh softly. The stark white strands at the front that fell into his eyes sat against the raven black of the rest of Jason’s hair. You had asked him once if he dyed it like that, and Jason only shook his head no, continuing with the chapter like no follow up would be needed. It was perhaps why your hand found his, the one resting on his thigh underneath the table.
Your fingers curled around his hand and you let the conversation drift onto Jason’s basketball career. You listened intently, your chair right next to his as he talked about playing in the public courts as a kid, and was on a real team for the first time in highschool. He didn’t think he’d go to school for a basketball scholarship, but it seemed like the right time when he was offered. And while it was mostly true, Jason skipped over some of the more gruesome details of his life you had gotten pieces of, you knew he lived on the streets before he was adopted, but Jason never spoke of his adoptive father. You didn’t even have a name for the man who had given him a chance at life, but you were never one to push. You knew when to ask and when not too, you seemed to understand that Jason’s temperament existed on a razor sharp line, and walked it effortlessly.
“I feel kinda dumb because who is friends with someone this goddamn tall and doesn’t ask if they play basketball or volleyball even.” You snorted at one point, making Jason laugh. You let your hand fall from his then, pushing yourself up to get another drink. A few friends requested shots and you asked Jason if he wanted anything, but he shook his head no. He almost offered to go with you, but you were gone before he had the chance. He was left alone to be interrogated more about his life, which he didn’t mind, he was used to it.
It came with being a collegiate level athlete and one of the sons of Gotham’s favourite billionaire, even if most people his age didn’t know that. But it was always the same shit, especially college guys who loved to live some NBA fantasy through Jason though that wasn’t what he was striving for. Jason wanted his degree and if playing basketball helped him focus and work out everything he kept inside, then so be it. Jason never mentioned it to you because he had never seen himself as an athlete who has to go to school, but instead as a student with the perk of playing a sport he enjoyed. He felt a bit wrong for not sharing that side of his life with you, for wanting you to know him and what he loved as much as he wanted to know that about you.
It would be something to dwell on later as you returned with your friends' drinks, and on your second trip you brought a drink for yourself and another beer for Jason. You only sent him a smile as you set it down, falling back into the conversation as the night rolled on. Jason did his best to stay attentive, but you all were a little drunk and tripping over words by a certain point. Jason felt warm and content next to you, unsure how many drinks you two had ended up getting for another, but appreciating how you felt beside him regardless.
“I’m gonna go smoke and then wander my ass home.” You declared, leaving a few bills on the table which Jason immediately scooped back up.
“I got ours.” He said, pushing himself up a little too fast that his chair tipped backwards. You giggled a little unceremoniously at the sight before his words hit your ears. You began to object, but Jason had already slunk to the bar while your friends picked his chair, and closed out whatever tab you had. He was sure he ended up paying for a few of your friends' drinks too, but didn’t have the capacity to care. You were outside by the time he was back, bidding goodbye to your friends before joining you in the chilly air. “Are you actually walking home?” Jason asked, stealing your cigarette from between your fingers while you pouted.
“No, I ordered an uber. It's not coming for like ten minutes but I wanted air.” You said, voice sleepy with words falling into another.
“I’ll wait with you.”
“You can uber with me, if you want.” You offered and Jason considered it. It would mean more time alone with you, but he wasn’t sure he could keep it up anymore. With alcohol heavy in his bones and nicotine burning his throat, Jason didn’t know if he could keep it hidden anymore. Keep his feelings at bay when all his inhibitions were down and telling him not to. It was too dangerous, too risky so he shook his head no reluctantly.
“I could use the air too.” You nodded as he passed back your smoke, the hum from the bar and citylife filled the air before you looked down at your phone.
You stared unmoved for a moment, then your eyes met Jason’s. Green and heavy with want, he knew it was obvious. And either you were oblivious or didn’t care as you looked at him unfazed. Drunk and tired, but nothing heavy lurked in your gaze. It made his mouth go sour, but your voice broke any annoyance from flowering.
“Hey, when’s your next game?” You asked, swaying on your feet every so faintly.
“Uh, next Friday I think. Why?” Jason sounded a bit harsher than he meant, but you only laughed.
“Is it cool if I come watch?”
“Yeah it’s not like I can’t stop you,” You frowned at that and Jason was ready to blame the alcohol, “Sorry, I meant I'd like it if you came. My friend Roy, you met him last time he was visiting, is here again and gonna go on Friday if you wanna go with him.”
“Yeah! That’d be great!” You closed the space between you two and pulled Jason into a hug. Your arms wound around his shoulders this time, pulling him down to your level as you stood on your tippy toes. He wasted no time wrapping his strong arms around you, hands splayed on your back as his nose brushed the juncture where your shoulder and neck met. You smelled as good as you always did, a bit like liquor and sweat too, but still that summery scented warmth. It was oceanic and sweet, like that earthy natural sweetness. The kind from berries and sap, that stick to your tongue and remind you of hot endless days.
And maybe Jason was drunk and reading too much romantic poetry recently for one of his courses, or maybe he just wanted to let himself go, to feel whatever you made him feel tenfold with no hesitation. Jason let his head tilt forward, lips brushing the side of your neck before he placed a soft, open mouth kiss next to where your perfume was the strongest. Where it enveloped his senses and made him forget the reality of his life and your friendship. His tongue darted out to brush where his lips had met your skin when your fingers clutched his shoulders and pushed your bodies apart.
You stared at him a little wide eyed, his long arms still able to breach the distance and distantly holding onto your waist before the car pulling up next to you snapped Jason to reality as his grasp fell from you. Regret filled Jason instantly, words unable to form as his tongue ran across his bottom lip. You followed the action with your eyes, arms hugged around your chest as you took another step back.
“I’ll see you in class next week okay?” You said, expression softening as Jason forced a smile and nod like he hadn’t just ruined everything you two had built. You waved before ducking into the car, and vanishing into the night. Jason started walking home immediately, eyes focused on the pavement and how his steps fell on after another until he was home. He didn’t even change before rolling into bed, tossing off his hoodie and kicking off his boots before letting the promise of sleep and forgetting overtake him.
Jason thought he would wake up in a better mood, a less angry one.
He was wrong.
~
though I probably deserve this noose, there's one thing I'd like to adduce…just know I never resented you.
Jason knew he was being childish, probably handling it in the worst way, but he decided to take a cue from your reaction to his kiss, and was avoiding you. The few times you crossed paths on campus, he would send you a quick wave or fake smile before veering off in whatever direction was furthest from you. You managed to trap him in one conversation, asking if you still were on to study after class. “Uh sure, works for me.” Jason fidgeted with his zipper before bidding you goodbye and spinning out of the building he needed to be in.
He was also texting you less, keeping his phone in his bag most of the day and replying half heartedly. He was sure you knew something was up—how could you not expect Jason to be awkward all things considered?
And if you were still clueless to his avoidance, Jason made it clear when he walked past the desk you two normally shared during lecture. You had looked up as he headed down the stairs dividing the lecture hall into three. Yet Jason kept his head forward, opting to sit on the left side of the theater and closer to the front. He could feel your gaze following him, and Jason only worked up the courage once to steal a glance in your direction to see you typing furiously.
His head snapped back to the front as he pretended to listen. Jason did try to pay attention, but guilt was slowly eating him whole. He was so grateful when the lecture finally ended, taking his time to pack up and relieved to see you had already left by the time Jason started heading to the exit. Or so he thought until you stood across from the doors, arms crossed over your chest, clearly unimpressed.
“We still on to study?” You asked, clipped. Jason was sure this was the first time he had actually seen you mad, and hated he was the cause of it.
“I have a last minute practice tonight.” He said and you scoffed. Basketball had never once gotten in the way of your friendship to the point you didn’t even know he was on the team.
“Sure, okay. Well have fun and see ya around Jason.” You rolled your eyes as you pushed off the wall, shaking your head as you brushed past him. His eyes fell closed, head tipping forward as he let out a hefty sigh. Broad chest expanding and falling as he blew out hot air.
“Fuck.” He muttered, running a hand over his face and heading to the gym until night had rolled in. He would’ve stayed longer, doing a few laps in the pool perhaps, until Jason remembered Roy was still in his dorm.
Jason knew he wasn’t only being a shitty friend to you, but he had abandoned Roy twice now during his visit. It was too much guilt for Jason to hold and he didn’t have the space for it as he headed back to his friend, praying Roy wasn’t too mad. And he wasn’t, instead sleeping with his head by the foot of Jason’s bed and limbs hanging off all sides.
It made Jason laugh, a lightness filling him for the first time today. His game was tomorrow and Roy would be there and maybe it would be enough.
~
You weren’t going to show, Jason was sure of it. Well, there was the outlier possibility you might, but no, logically you were pissed and not going to show up. Unless maybe to boo him. That made Jason chuckle, pulling off his headphones as he half listened to his coach and captains’ last minute pep talk. It wasn’t the most important game, losing wouldn’t drop the teams standing much, but winning would look good as hell.
That appealed enough to Jason who was rolling out his ankles before pushing to his feet, the black of his jersey contrasted the white long sleeve he had underneath. His hair had gotten long enough to sweep back into a small ponytail, the short strands falling forward and framing his face. He caught a glimpse of himself in one of the mirrors as everyone headed out of the lockeroom. Jason looked happy, it seemed like a foreign expression on his face, especially as of late. But the prospect of losing himself in a game always appealed to Jason and would soon became reality.
It was his needed escape, from all the chaos he had caused, but his peace came to halt when Jason searched for Roy in the sea of people and found you next to him. Roy had a conniving grin, so maybe he was a little mad at being abandoned and hearing Jason mope about you for the last few days.
One of Jason’s teammates slammed into his back as his sneakers squeaked to a stop.
“You good man?” He asked, placing a hand on Jason’s arm as he jogged past him. Jason nodded, following behind him and trying to focus on anything, but you. Of course you showed up, and didn’t even look mad, but excited.
Jason stared at the lines painted onto the ground, trying to push away the sudden anxiety looming in his stomach. He wanted to play well for you, he knew that much, but it was hard to think about anything else. Process the flow of the game while he knew you were watching. It wasn’t your fault, but Jason just couldn’t engage with you, not right now. He ignored both you and Roy the entire first half, not once sparing a glance in your direction, and opting to duck into the locker room when half time rolled through.
He normally would come chat, he knew Roy expected that much, but Jason just needed to play. To focus on rebounds and blocking and winning. It was simple, and with each second played he felt a bit easier. Like braving you once the break ended would be more bearable. But as Jason headed back onto the court, he was met with an empty seat. Roy was still there, looking rather unamused, but trying to push it down for Jason’s sake, while Jason stared helplessly.
You left, and he should have saw it coming, but it still hurt like hell. Jason played the second half well, mostly angry at himself for being an ass, and doing nothing to stop himself. Watching repeatedly from the outside as he fumbled every meaningful relationship if given the time. It made Jason sick, angry enough to be fouled out during the last few minutes, but his team won nonetheless.
The initial celebration seemed to pass in a haze, his teammates' voices flying over Jason’s head as he pushed his way through the crowd, wandering to where Roy sat with his arms crossed over his chest. “You played like a jackass near the end.” The redhead stated when Jason was in earshot.
“Playing how I feel I guess.” Jason shrugged, gaze flickering to the empty seat near to him.
Roy sighed, pushing himself up and slapping a hand on Jason’s shoulder. “At least you can admit. Now go be nice and shake hands and I’ll meet you at the afters, see if I can get your little crush to show up too.” Roy stated, making Jason chuckle as he nodded.
“Alright, and thanks man.”
“Anytime,” Roy grinned, letting Jason go before shouting, “Oh hey!”
He turned around as Roy held up his phone, “They asked for a play by play when they left, just so you know.” He said, a wide smile cracking over Jason’s face. You still cared, at least somewhat how he did, and maybe would show up (again) after all.
~
just know I never resented you, and I understand if you can't stand the sound or sight of my name.
Jason was in a sea of people, the usual spot for post game drinks overflowed, everyone in the celebrating mood it seemed. Jason tried to play along, and get lost in the fun, but was anxiously waiting for you and Roy. His gaze kept flitting to the door, half listening to conversations and participating even less. Jason ignored comments about how he played the last few minutes, sending tight smiles to the people who thought they had the right to joke about that stuff with him. They usually got the message after that, leaving him be until someone else decided to pull him into a conversation. The cycle was starting again as one of Jason’s captains called his name, but Roy’s hat flashed in Jason’s periphery and he didn’t even acknowledge the senior before turning towards the door.
“Outside.” Was all Roy said with a wink, patting Jason on the shoulder and slipping past him into the celebrations.
Jason wormed his way through the crowd, yanking open the front door and nearly colliding with you. You stepped back as Jason froze in the doorway.
“Uh Jay, I think people are tryna get by.” You said, nodding behind him. He glanced over his shoulder at the couple, and moved out of the way wordlessly as they dipped into the night. You slouched against the brick wall of the bar, and Jason headed towards you like a man compelled. He leaned into the wall, looking down at you as you sent him a smile. You were close, carrying the scent of smoke and that fucking perfume.
“Heard you fouled out.” You commented, making Jason chuckle.
“Yeah, a little too pissed to play nice.” He shrugged, toying with a string on his belt and pushing further into the wall, hoping the bricks would devour him.
“Is that how you normally play?”
“No, not unless I’m in my head.” You tensed at his reply, pulling your bottom lip between your teeth.
“Y’know we don’t have to talk about anything tonight, you should be celebrating anyway. We can play nice? For tonight?” You said after a moment, looking away from him while Jason continued to stare down at you.
“What?” He breathed.
“I just don’t think we need to focus on like, a drunk mistake right now. You guys won, let's just focus on that.” You shrugged, still looking towards the pavement while Jason’s jaw clenched.
Drunk mistake? Sure that was a way to describe it, but it was more than that. It was a revelation to the feelings Jason had been harboring, those same feelings he handled so poorly this last week and you wanted to forget it? Put it aside like you didn’t set Jason on fire from the inside out and were the one standing there with a fire extinguisher all at once. It wasn’t something he could just ignore anymore, not even for a few hours. It was why he had all, but abandoned you this week, more so than the embarrassment. And you chalked it up to a drunk mistake?
No.
He was silent for a while, long enough to beckon your gaze back to his as you turned to face him slightly. It appeared you weren’t getting out of this conversation tonight and neither was Jason.
Jason huffed, palms digging into his eyes before he said, “It wasn’t—that wasn’t me being drunk, okay—yeah I was, but it wasn’t a mistake in the way you’re thinking. I-I did that because I…like you. A lot, and have for a while.”
This silence seemed to stretch on longer than the one before—
“Oh.”
Jason laughed, he couldn’t help it, sarcasm dripping from his tone as he barked, “Well that’s always a great response.”
The coldness of his response snapped you out of whatever shock his confession put you in, “No, no I'm just surprised, sorry. And it’s not like I don’t like you too, but—“
“Oh that’s an even better one.” Jason muttered, and went to head back inside until your fingers shot out and grabbed his wrist. He stayed in place, but couldn’t turn to face you.
“Hey, stop being an ass, I asked you to play nice so listen. Jason, I do like you, I think you’re great actually, but this is a bit of a shock to me, and we still need to talk about how you treated me this last week. I need time to process all of this because I don’t wanna damage our relationship even more right now. But I still care about you a lot so just. Bear with me?” You said, breathless afterwards and thumb stroking against his wrist as Jason finally turned to face you.
“I can…work with that.” He said softly.
“Well I’m glad,” You shifted closer, squeezing his wrist before adding, “And hey maybe if you get a little too drunk tonight and make another mistake…it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.”
Jason immediately tipped himself into you, making you scream out a laugh while trying to push him off.
“Y’know now that you mention it, I'm feeling pretty drunk now.” He pretended to trip over his feet while your palms pressed into his chest.
“God you’re so annoying.” You grinned when Jason stopped, holding up his own weight while you slapped the back of your hand into his stomach. “Now let’s go get messed up, Roy’s driving so!”
“Oh say no more.” You slipped your hand into his, fingers interlocking as you led Jason back into the bar. You glanced back when his fingers tightened around yours. grinning brightly at him in the hazy lighting, a beacon of good and calmness Jason longed for. And while there was still uncertainty and time before Jason could truly relish in you, he would bear with you as you asked.

Fire in My Heart pt 3
for @sleep-deprived-athlete who asked for a part 3
summary: Would you do a part 3 of fire in my heart where the reader is introducing Mel to the fire station at like a department picnic or something?
Part 1 Part 2
wc: 2.5k exactly!
Tumblr media
“Are you ready?” you ask your girlfriend softly as you gather your things for the annual barbecue at the firehouse.
“Are you?” Melissa asks you with a raised brow. She has her purse slung over her shoulder, and she already has two trays of mac and cheese and two trays of ziti in her hands. “Don’t be nervous, hun.”
“You don’t get to say that when you were a nervous wreck when your friends came over,” you huff playfully.
“I was not,” she rolls her eyes.
You hit her with a pointed look. “You absolutely were.”
“C’mon, hun. It’ll be fine, I know it. I know how to shoot the shit,” she promises you with a gentle hip check.
“Okay, okay,” you sigh. You grab your own bag, take two of trays into your own hands, and kiss the redhead sweetly. “If it becomes too much, or they become too much, you just say the word and we can leave.”
She rolls her eyes but kisses you back. When you pull away, you can’t help but nearly drool at the sight of her. She has just a plain green tank top on and a pair of jeans, but you swear she’s an angel on this earth.
“Quit drooling over me, and let’s get a move on,” Melissa rolls her eyes as she expertly balances the trays to open the door.
“I can’t help it that my girlfriend is incredibly hot,” you shrug, but you follow her lead.
The two of you walk into the firehouse where Randy already has a grill set up, and you can’t help as you roll your eyes.
“Oi,” you groan. “Who thought having a grill inside would be a good idea?”
“I don’t know, chief,” he chuckles. “I was just following orders to have a grill.”
“Take it outside,” you laugh. “We don’t need no fire in our house.”
He grumbles something under his breath, but he follows your order. You and Melissa put down the different pastas on the table that’s been set out with other sides, and one of the younger firefighters is immediately at your side.
“Is that homemade?”
“By yours truly,” Melissa smirks.
“Oh, hell yeah,” he grins and immediately reaches for the serving spoon that you had put into one of the dishes not thirty seconds ago.
“Mel, this is Jake,” you laugh. “He’s the one who asked about your ziti the day we responded to the fire at Abbott. Jake, this is my girlfriend, Melissa.”
“What the hell do you put in this stuff that makes it so damned good?” he asks through a mouthful.
“You ain’t getting the Schemmenti recipe,” Melissa quips with a laugh. “But I’m glad you like it, kid.”
“Enjoy it before it goes,” you tell him. “Because it’ll go quick.”
He grabs another mound of a serving before giving your girlfriend a thumbs up and walking away.
“You want a drink, babe?” you lean in to ask Melissa. At her nod, you take her hand and lead her to the cooler. She pulls out a Yuengling, opens it, takes a sip, and sighs. You opt for one of your preferred seltzers, and clink your can against her bottle.
“That’s the good stuff,” you sigh softly. “You ready to meet all of my coworkers?”
“I believe you mean subordinates,” she chuckles. “You are the chief.”
“Only when I’m on the clock,” you roll your otherwise. “Off the clock, I refer to myself as ‘Melissa Schemmenti’s girl’.”
“You’re a dork.”
“Melissa Schemmenti’s dork,” you quip. She bats at you playfully as you head towards where the rest of your coworkers are.
Before the burgers and dogs are served, you spend most of your time milling around and introducing Melissa to your second family.
“So,” Randy smirks at the teacher as the two of you approach the grill outside. “You’re the one who makes one hell of a ziti and has taken our chief off the market.”
“That would be me,” Melissa says back just as lowly.
“You new?”
“If three years of dating is new,” the redhead rolls her eyes playfully. “Then sure.”
“Three years?” Randy raises a brow as he glances at you.
“Three years,” you affirm.
“Chief didn’t even tell us she swung your way,” he laughs. “No wonder she turned down every guy who tried to hit on her or any guy we tried to set her up with.”
“No one asked,” you shrug. “And it don’t much matter. I love who I love, and I do my work well. That’s all that matters.”
“Damn right,” Melissa grins as she hangs off of your arm. She kisses your cheek for good measure.”
Before you know it, Randy has finished cooking all of the burgers and dogs, and you’re all sitting down to eat family style- you always have at the firehouse. Meal times were the one part of your day where everyone sat together and talked freely. Usually, that time got interrupted by the alarm going off, but it was always nice the time you did get together. The men in your crew were like brothers or uncles at this point. With your position, you sit at the head of the table, Melissa to your right. A gentle hand lays on your knee as the two of you eat, and there are choruses of praise sung to your girlfriend for her various pasta dishes.
“Damn, chief,” one of the older fighters chuckles. “If you don’t wife this one up quickly, I will just so I can have her cooking for the rest of my life.”
“Not a chance in hell,” you point your fork at Jim warningly before continuing to eat your meal. “She’s mine, and you make one move on her- your ass is out. Capiche?”
“Capiche,” he mumbles as he looks back down at his plate.
“Hun, he was joking.”
“I know. I just want everyone here to know that you’re mine,” you direct that statement towards your coworkers.
“We hear you loud and clear, chief,” Jim laughs. “Schemmenti’s yours.”
The two of you listen as the others chat about anything other than work, you filling in the blank spaces for your girlfriend so she understands what’s happening. Then all eyes are on the two of you, not that you really notice. You’re so busy filling in Melissa and laughing at the small comments that she’s making- you only have eyes for her right now.
“Oi, chief,” one of your coworkers laugh. “Stop making googly eyes at your girlfriend and tell us how the hell you two met.”
“And when you’re getting married, if those eyes tell us anything!” Luke yells. “I swear to god, if I’m not a part of this wedding!”
“Ain’t nobody said nothin’ about a wedding,” you roll your eyes, trying to keep up your facade. “At least not yet.”
“I’d put money on it, it’s happening eventually.”
“What would you even be, Luke?” you laugh. “You’re a grown ass man who can’t walk straight sober.”
“I don’t know!” he grins. “But I want to be part of the chief’s wedding!”
“You can be a beer boy,” Melissa rolls her eyes and tells the younger man. He fist pumps with a grin on his face.
“So, how did you two lovebirds meet?”
You glance to Melissa, who tells the tale. “I was just hanging around one of the bars I like to go to with some coworkers after school. They all left at this point, and a guy I was hanging around with at the time was supposed to meet me there a little later. Turns out, the jackass was too busy fucking his ex-wife to be decent enough to let me know he wasn’t coming.”
You roll your eyes. He really was a dick for that.
“So I was sitting at the bar, ready to drown my sorrows in alcohol, as one does,” she sighs. “And I notice this woman sitting at the other end of the bar by herself.”
All of your subordinates throw you a questioning glance.
“Sometimes after a hard shift, I need to blow off some steam, and I’m no tramp,” you shrug.
“She looked pissed, I looked pissed, so I head over. I says to her, I says, “Oi, you get stood up too?” and Y/N looked at me like I had three heads.”
“I couldn’t believe someone so gorgeous was standing in front of me, much less talking to me,” you sigh.
“Ooh, who knew our badass fire chief was a total softy when the right person comes around!” Another of the younger firefighter whoops from the back.
“We ended up staying at the bar until it closed, just talking. Why I was there, why she was there, and anything else we could come up with. When we were leaving, she walked me to my car, and-”
“-They don’t need to know everything else,” you cut her off quickly.
“Oh, c’mon!” Luke groans. “It was just getting good!”
Your girlfriend smirks at you before continuing. “Your boss became a flustered mess as she clumsily asked me for my number.”
“And we’ve been together since,” you finish off, cheeks bright red. “She got her firefighter, and I got my hot redheaded teacher.”
The barbecue lasts well into the night, all of you dancing and drinking now that ‘family dinner’ was over. As the crowd starts to thin out, you begin to clean up the mess that everyone has left.
“Let me help, hon,” your girlfriend says softly as she starts to take serving spoons out of various trays.
“I got it,” you say softly. “Go dance, I know that dancing is more your thing than mine.”
“Eh,” she shrugs. “It’s better when I have an audience…” she glances towards the other men who are dancing with their partners. “An audience that I would want, anyway.” She means you, and you know it.
“Do you want to dance?” you ask her gently as you finish spooning some of the desserts into a Tupperware container. At her nod, you pull her to the makeshift dance floor. She grins as she gets to do what she loves.
After a while, she pats your butt gently and kisses you. “Thank you for indulging me. You don’t have to keep dancing if you don’t want to.”
“I need a break,” you tell her honestly. “But you stay. I’ll be watching.”
As you walk away, she does a move that practically has you swooning.
“Jesus, Y/N,” Randy laughs as he comes up to the dessert table where you’re back to cleaning up. “Is there nothing your woman can’t do? She cooks, she dances, she teaches… you got yourself a good one.”
“I know I did,” you chuckle as you watch her dancing. She’s having the time of her life with your group of coworkers.
“You gonna marry this one?”
“I already got a ring hidden in my office,” you chuckle lowly.
“Good,” he claps you on the back. “Don’t let this one get away.”
“I don’t got no plans to let her go,” you tell him.
“Good. Now, I’m heading out unless you need any help cleaning up,” he says.
“Go,” you tell him. “I may be a badass fire chief, but I also know how to clean up and be domestic every once in a while. I’m just gonna put the food away, and then tomorrow someone else gets to put all of the tables away.”
“I’ll make sure Zach gets it done,” the older man tells you. “Enjoy your day off tomorrow, chief.” He heads out after that.
You finish putting everything away before you head back towards your girlfriend.
“Hey, love,” she grins as she pulls you in close, still dancing. “Are you ready to head home?”
“I have to lock up,” you tell her. “But I’ll stop the party whenever you’re ready.”
“I’m ready,” she chuckles.
You head over to the speaker, turn off the music and turn towards those that are still here. “Alright, I’m calling it a night. The woman and I have to get home and in bed if we’re going to be up for Church tomorrow.”
“You go to church?” Zach asks. “I thought you didn’t-”
“Melissa’s catholic, so we go,” you roll your eyes. “Not that it’s any of your business what I do outside of work.”
Luke makes a whipping noise, eliciting a chuckle from the small crowd that’s left- including your girlfriend.
“Okay, get out,” you turn your chief voice on. “That’s an order. I need to lock up.”
It takes about ten minutes for everyone to gather their things and head home, and then it’s just you and Melissa in your office gathering your things.
“This was nice,” your girlfriend sighs softly as she takes your hand gently. She lets out a small yawn.
“It was,” you agree as you glance at the drawer where her ring is stored.
“I have one dance left in me, if you want,” you offer softly.
“Really?” she asks quietly- hesitantly.
You give her a small smile and take her bag, putting it on your desk. You pull your phone from your back pocket and start playing your song softly. You tug her in closely. For once, you lead the small steps that you take- she usually takes the lead while you struggle to keep up. She hums the song softly, and it’s taking everything in you to not drop down to one knee right now.
“I love you,” you whisper into her ear.
“I love you too,” she mumbles into your neck as the two of you sway back and forth.
While the song is playing, you really do consider just pulling out the ring and asking her right here and now. You want Melissa to be your wife more than anything. But the song is over, and you have to quickly fumble with your phone when the next song- a real mood killer- comes on. If the moment hadn’t been ruined, you know you would’ve popped the question.
“You ready to head home, hun?” she asks you quietly. You don’t quite register her words, still consumed with your own thoughts. “Hun?”
“Huh?” you shake your head. “Yeah, I’m ready.”
“You okay?”
“I’m all good,” you promise her.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“Just thinking about how well tonight went, and how lucky I am to have you by my side,” you tell her with love in your eyes. It’s the truth- just maybe not the whole truth.
“I think I’m the lucky one,” she kisses your cheek as she turns to grab her bag. You open the drawer where the ring box is and pocket it.
The two of you lock up the building together, and you sigh when you get behind the wheel. You pull out of your parking spot.
Maybe tonight wasn’t the night, but you know it’s coming soon. You thumb the box as you drive- you’ll get your chance soon enough.

Act Naturally 3
Summary: It's been a couple of days since Lucy and Cooper married, and the vault doctor is confused when he finds out that they've not consummated it yet.
Pairings: Pre-War Cooper Howard x Lucy Maclean
Warnings. None really? Smut with be on the next/final part.
Masterlist
Tumblr media
It's been a couple of days since their marriage, and Cooper finds life in the vault... dull, to say the least. There isn't much way of entertainment, and his new job as Althetic Coach was pretty useless, leaving the ex-actor bored most days. Not that Lucy is boring, but the young woman had more duties in the vault than he did, leaving Cooper alone much of the day.
No, Lucy was an amazing, intelligent young woman who Cooper was getting to know little by little. She was raised to be a go-getter, with a can-do attitude, but he could see that there was more to just that. Lucy was kind and thoughtful in a way that few people truly were. Cooper didn't love her, but he could see himself falling for the young vault dweller.
A week passes by, and he's back in their shared home, mindlessly watching a rerun of some old-world cartoon when there is a knock on the door. He pushes himself up and answers the sliding door to find a middle-aged man on the other side with a white lab coat over his vault suit.
"Hello, Mr. Howard. I don't think we've had the pleasure of meeting yet. I'm Dr. Gallows," He introduces himself and shakes Cooper's hand when offered.
"Cooper, good to meet you," the ex-actor, "What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?"
The doctor clears his throat and shoots Cooper a small grin, "Well, usually a new bride has already come to see me after the consummation of the marriage, but Lucy has yet to stop by, so I wanted to do a house call to make sure everything was good to go."
Cooper blinks at the doctor, and the casual way he brings up his sex life. Lucy hadn't made a move to try and sleep with him, and Coop had been fine with allowing her to set the pace. What did it matter if they hadn't fucked yet?
"Okay... and?"
The doctor lets out an awkward chuckle, "Well. Part of the Vault mission is to rebuild human society, but we can't do that if we don't have kids, right Mr. Howard? So I'd like for Lucy to come see me in the next couple of days, that should give the two of you please of time."
Cooper wants to protest, to immediately shut this innane bull crap down, but he stops himself. The vaults were a tight nit group, and he doubted that just he would be in trouble if he decided to deck their doctor in the face. Lucy would be part of this, too.
So, instead, the man sighs and grands the doctor a look little more friendly than a glare, "I'll see what I can do, Doc."
"Ah, splendid then! I'll see you in a couple of days!"
Cooper sneers as the other man be-pops away like nothing had happened and shuts the door quickly. He would have to talk to Lucy about this when she got home.
It's near the evening by the time his wife gets home, and Cooper welcomes Lucy with a smile and open arms, which she gratefully falls into. He holds her close and presses a quick kiss to the top of her head, "Long day, baby?"
Lucy sighs dramatically and leans back so that she can look at him, "You have no idea. Dad had me sit in on all his meetings, and then I had class to teach. No one even paid attention."
Cooper chuckles a bit and leads Lucy over to the couch, where she sits down beside him. He keeps her close, one arm curled around her back as she tells him about her day, which sounds far more interesting than anything he did today.
They are having a light dinner when Cooper brings up his visitor from earlier in the day, "Dr. Gallows came by today."
He pauses when Lucy’s face erupts in , and the fork she holds falls to the plate. He cocks a brow at her and sits back, sitting his own utensils down to give his wife his full attention. Cooper sees her swallow harshly and avoid his gaze.
"What - uhm. What did he want?"
Cooper licks his lips, fingers itching for a cigarette to occupy his hands with, and says as easy as pie, "Wondering why we haven't "consummated our marriage" yet."
Lucy's shoulders draw up to around her ears, and she slaps her hands over her face, "I'm so sorry. He wasn't being pushy, was he?"
Cooper huffed and stood from his seat, "Well, he made it quite clear that he wasn't too thrilled that we've kept him waiting. I'm not a fan of these vault rules, Darlin', so we'll make him wait as long as you want him to."
He gathers the dishes and sets them in the sink for later, and then turns back around to see his wife still slumped over the table. He frowns and mosies over, one hand dropping to her shoulder and squeezing lightly, "We'll follow your lead."
Lucy reaches up a hand and curls it around his own, her fingers squeezing hard before she lifts her head and peeks up at him through her dark bangs. Cooper thinks she looks beautiful like this.
"I want to," she begins and elaborates when he lifts a brow, her voice wavering with nerves, "to have sex with you. I was just too scared to ask."
The ex-actor scoffs and stands behind her, his other hand coming up to land on her shoulder and massage the tense muscles there. She sags under him, and Cooper bends down to press a kiss to the crown of her head. He didn't want her to feel scared or nervous around him, not when he was her husband.
"You can talk to me about anything, Sweetheart," Cooper assures his wife quietly, "I'm always in your corner, no matter what, okay?"
Lucy nods, and when she looks at him again, he catches the way her pupils blow wide and watches her red tongue sneak out to wet her lips. Arousal pools in his stomach, and his hands tighten around her shoulders.
"Can we have sex, now?"
Cooper swallows harshly and searches her gaze for any time that says Lucy might not want any of this but only sees growing excitement. He smiles at her, a slow smirk that speaks for how much he absolutely wants to have sex. He lets her go and rounds the chair, then angles her chin up to look at him with his knuckle.
"Go get ready for me then, baby."

Original Ask: reader is sergio ramos's niece ( around gavi's age ) and during the sevilla vs barcelona match she is seen comforting her uncle when he decides to introduce her to gavi, and they hit off, sergio of course approves because gavi is literally his demon child 🤪 (@findingnemosworld)
Word Count: 471 words
(author's note: i had so much fun writing this, i hope you all enjoy it !!)
Tumblr media
For Y/N, being the niece of Sergio Ramos was the best thing in the world. She went to every single game his team played, as she had been a Sevilla fan all her life. Having her uncle return to her childhood club was a dream come true.
It was matchday. Y/N was sat on the sidelines, a Ramos jersey as her choice of shirt for the occasion. It was Sevilla v Barcelona and tensions were high.
The players emerged from the tunnels and lined up on the pitch. Sergio shot his niece a smile as he fell into position with the rest of his teammates. Little did he know, it would be a tragic game for his team.
The game went terribly. Sevilla lost 3-0 despite a desperate effort to level out the scoreboard. Once the game was over, Sergio sat deflated in one of the chairs on the side of the pitch.
“Please don’t be too upset, Uncle. There will be other games.” Y/N tried to reason. But it was no use. Sergio was devastated.
At that moment, Pablo was walking past. He caught Sergio’s eye, and he called him over. Gavi signalled to his friends to go on without him as he headed over to where Ramos and his niece sat.
“Hola, Sergio. Is everything okay?” Pablo asked.
“Si, everything is fine. This is my niece Y/N, I thought I would introduce you to her.”
Y/N waved at Gavi, smiling sweetly at the boy that stood in front of her. Pablo returned the gesture, slightly taken aback by the gorgeous girl that stood before him.
“I’ll leave you two to get to know each other.” Sergio stated, before walking off to the changing rooms.
“Hello.” Pablo said awkwardly. He was slightly intimidated by her beauty and confident demeanour, but he wasn’t surprised. She was the niece of the infamous Sergio Ramos.
“You played very well today. You’re very talented.” She replied. Y/N had always found Gavi attractive. It had all started when she saw him make his debut for Barcelona.
“That’s very kind of you. Has anyone ever told you how pretty you are?”  Pablo responded, his cheeks flushing pink at his statement.
Y/N laughed. “Yes, I get that a lot. You aren’t too bad yourself, you know?”
Gavi smiled. “I don’t mean to be forward, but would there be any chance of me taking you out for dinner? I think we would get along pretty well.”
“I’m sure Y/N would love to Pablo. Isn’t that right?” Sergio said, remerging from the changing rooms, making the pair jump.
“I’d love to.” She agreed.
Gavi nodded and, with a smile, said, “I’ll be in contact.”
He then jogged over to the Barcelona dressing room, but not before throwing a wink Y/N’s way.

Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows 3
Warnings: non/dubcon, clashing personalities, exclusion, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
Characters: moody boy Curtis Everett x bubbly, plus-size reader
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
You arrive early with your laptop. The meeting room appears occupied as you wait outside. You don’t knock for fear of interrupting and stand patiently in the hall.
You check your watch, the hot pink casio with the digital face. It’s getting close. You try not to worry too much. The IT tech will no doubt show up and realise what’s going on.
As you begin to build the upcoming meeting as more than it is, the door cracks open and a man pokes his head out. He wear frameless rectangular glasses and his blond hair is spiky and shiny with gel. He smiles as he lets the door fall open.
“Hey, sorry to keep you waiting, you must be our one o’clock,” he says, “I’m Jake.”
You shake his hand and introduce yourself. He welcomes you in as you ponder his words, ‘our’? As you enter, you are faced with the last person you expect. The man’s neutral stare turns to a chagrined scowl as your eyes meet. The very same moody lunch partner from the day before.
“Hi,” you say sheepishly as you sit down and place your laptop on the table.
“Curtis will be doing most of the set up,” Jake explains as he sits beside the other man, “I’m mostly here for moral support.”
“Shut up,” Curtis sneers under his breath.
“Curtis,” you beam brightly; you finally got a name for the face. You give your own happily, enunciating it as if he’s never heard it before.
“Let’s get this done with,” he reaches across the table and takes your laptop.
You can only watch as he lifts the lid and starts typing. Jake looks over a tablet and offers a few words as Curtis fiddles around with your laptop. He’s met with grumbles and dismissive nods. They seem an odd pair.
“So, how are you liking it?” Jake turns his attention to you, “making any friends?”
“A few I think,” you glance at Curtis as his brows draw together, “pretty big company.”
“Yep, don’t let the corporate sea drown ya,” Jake says, “my tip, stick with the IT nerds, we mostly don’t care what’s going on upstairs. We’re all about the backend.”
The steady clack of keys underlines your small laugh. You’re nervous. You hate meetings and you just want to go back to your desk and pretend you’re reading policies.
“What is this?” Curtis grimaces and turns your computer to you. He points to the clock your installed on the desktop; Hello Kitty’s face with two clock hands ticking.
“It’s cute. It’s a clock! Oh, and the app also has a reminder setting–”
“Can’t have it on a work machine,” he grits.
“It’s fine, Curt. Won’t hurt–”
“This shit is from some Discord troll. Bullshit it can’t hurt,” Curtis insists, “policy; no third-party apps. Everything you need is already installed.”
“Okay,” you twirl your thumbs around each other, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”
He looks at you above the laptop and squints, his lip slightly curling. Jake rubs his neck nervously and nudges him. You still your hands and bite into your cheek.
“He’s had a long day. Spilled coffee on himself,” Jake explains.
“Oh,” you round your eyes, looking at the wall evasively.
“We can show you how to use the system clock and reminders. You’d be surprised the features most people don’t know about,” Jake offers.
“Thanks, uh, sounds good.”
Curtis jams his finger on the touchpad harshly. He keeps his snarl aimed at the screen. You watch him, waiting for him to look up. He doesn’t. You don’t blame him, you’ve been a real thorn in his side. But you only meant well.
🌞
After the meeting, you swept up in a whirlwind of overthinking and guilt. You didn’t mean to ruin Curtis’ day. You never meant to be anything but friendly. Somehow, it rarely translates to more than a nuisance.
Still, you don’t like when people are mad at you. You’re not a grudge holder and frankly you don’t understand them. Why hold onto all that bad emotion? You need to to just apologise and let it all smooth over.
You go down to the cafeteria and grab one of the few leftover pastries. A cinnamon bun with icing, yum. You stop and make a coffee before you head back to the floor. You guess on a dark brew, he seems the type.
You wander past Research and Development and through Accounting. You don’t really know where you’re going. The further you get, the more your anxiety mounts. Surely, you can’t get lost in an office building.
You see a man with a headset and send a psst in his direction. He looks up, combing back his greasy hair with his fingers and smiles.
“Uh, hey,” he says.
“Um, is this IT?” You keep your voice down in the curdling silence of the department.
“Sure is. You need a repair?” He winks. Not exactly your taste. You shake your head.
“I’m looking for Curtis,” you say.
The man looks at your handful. He nods, deflating.
“Pretty boy’s over there,” he points towards the corner.
You thank the man and press on in your journey into the villain’s lair. You can only hope your offering is enough. Forgiveness, maybe that’s too much, but an understanding, possibly.
You turn down the last row of desks and see Curtis’ large hand brush over the back of his buzzcut, his rings twinkling in the fluorescent glow. He stretches in his chair, leaning back as he reaches his arms up. His set-up looks almost too small for him.
As you approach, he stands. You don’t expect it. The motion sends his chair back just as you get close and knocks the coffee out of your hand. The cup hits the seat and soaks into the mesh. Your squeak draws the man around in surprise.
“You,” he growls as you gape at him in shock.
“Hi,” you don’t know what to do so you hold out the cinnamon bun, “um, sorry?”
He glares at you. A deadly look that chills you to the bone. His eyes fall to his drenched seat and you cringe. You see the rage pale his face. His hands ball to fists.
“I was just…” you inch closer and set the dessert on the corner of his desk, “apologising but I see now that–”
“Go,” he grits through his teeth.
“I’m sorry, Curtis–”
“I said go,” he sneers as his grey blue eyes slowly move towards you, “before you ruin anything else.”

The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Part 1/3 of my soft Tim miniseries!
Pairing: Tim Bradford x fem!rookie!reader
Summary: Tim Bradford cares more about you, his boot, than he should. You're injured and he shows his care without thinking.
Warnings: fluff, brief insecurity, description of injuries and stitches. r has hair long enough to pull back but no specific qualities!
Word Count. 1.0k+ words
A/N: This is just a little something I wrote last night. A scene of Tim being soft toward you, his favorite rookie. :)
Masterlist | Tim Bradford Masterlist | Request Info/Fandom List
Tumblr media
Tim Bradford can be gruff, pushy, and, at times, downright mean. But he never pushes his trainees more than they can handle, and his relentless tests and trials are for their benefit. By leading them to their potential or letting them fall short of it, he shows himself and them that they do (or in many cases, don’t) have what it takes. So, when people ask you if Tim Bradford is hard to work with or a tough TO, the answer is usually yes.
But then there are moments like this.
As you sit in the emergency room with a bloody wad of paper towels wrapped around your hand and your hair falling in your face, you watch Tim. He’s been on the phone since you arrived, pacing as he explains what happened to Sergeant Grey. You hadn’t seen Tim worried about you like this before today, but the moment he noticed the concerning amount of blood dripping from your hand as you stood your ground against an armed suspect, he showed you a side of himself that you’d never seen before.
“Let’s get that hand looked at. I’m Dr. Grace Sawyer.”
You nod at Grace as you stand and brace your injured hand against the other. She smiles kindly as you introduce yourself and leads you into a nearby room.
“Take a seat and I’ll unwrap Officer Bradford’s patch job,” she instructs.
After you sit and extend your hand toward her, she carefully unwraps the blood-soaked towels and deposits it into a biohazard container behind her. The gash across your palm and over the side of your wrist begins bleeding again without the pressure of Tim’s impromptu wrap job. He yelled at you while he did it, but you know why.
“How’d this happen?” Grace asks.
“I, uh… I was supposed to stay out of the way until our backup got there, but a guy ran up behind Officer Bradford, my TO, with a machete. I jumped in before I thought about it," you answer.
“Clearly,” Tim grumbles as he walks in. “How is she?” he asks Grace.
“I’m going to put in a few stitches. I’ll wrap it so she can get back to work, though. Is this your dominant hand?”
“No,” you answer softly, looking at Tim.
Tim nods once before he walks to stand behind you. You feel his fingers in your hair before you can ask what he’s doing. Less than an hour ago, someone else had their fingers on your scalp, but you weren’t as accepting of the touch.
“What are you doing?” you ask as he works your ponytail holder loose.
“Fixing your hair. This look isn’t exactly department-approved and you can’t do it with stitches in your palm,” Tim answers.
You turn your attention toward Grace and watch her work instead of focusing on how softly Tim is touching you or how close his chest is to your back. His warmth and care for you threaten to distract you from why you're here and what you're supposed to do when you leave.
“Sorry,” he murmurs when his finger hooks on a tangle.
“It’s okay,” you reply. “Thank you.”
“Are you okay?” Tim asks.
“I am. Thanks to you.”
“I’ll be right back. Don’t move that hand,” Grace says.
She winks as she stands, and you wonder if she knows how much trouble you’d get in for making a move on your TO. Not that you haven’t thought about it. Although, it always ends in rejection, even in your daydreams. The downside of knowing Tim so well, you think.
“I don’t even know how he got my hand and my hair so fast,” you admit. “It was like I felt the slice and then he was yanking me backward.”
“You stood your ground well,” Tim responds. “Not that I’m praising you disobeying me and jumping in, but what you did was well done. Unnecessary, but properly executed.”
“Unnecessary?” you repeat. “I’ll remember that next time a guy is about to use a machete against your back.”
“You know what I mean,” Tim adds quietly.
He drops his hands to your shoulders briefly, and when he pulls away, you shiver at the loss of warmth.
“It’s not perfect, or exactly how you had it,” he begins as he rounds the exam table.
“It’s great. Thank you,” you interject. “I really do appreciate it.”
“Just don’t let it happen again.”
“Trust me, I’ll try. Twelve stitches across my palm was never the goal.”
Tim rolls his eyes and sits in a nearby chair to wait for Grace to finish treating your cut. You watch him, and when you notice his shoulders drop, you push him back for once.
“You know, I’ve been looking for a new hairstylist for an event next month,” you say.
“No,” Tim answers.
He crosses his arms tightly against his chest and tilts his head away from you. That means it’s working.
“But you did so well! I mean, I haven’t felt this good because of a hairstyle since… I can’t remember.”
“Then learn to do it yourself.”
“But you’re my partner,” you argue with a pout.
“When I said I’d be with you through the good, the bad, and the ugly, that’s not exactly what I meant.”
“But I’ll be ugly without beautiful hairstyles like this!”
Tim straightens quickly and says, “You’re kidding. Right?”
You shrug and look at the stitches lining your hand.
“You’re beautiful,” he adds. “No hair-do can change that or make it untrue.”
“Thanks,” you whisper.
“I’m back,” Grace announces. “Let me wrap this and you’ll be good to go.”
“About time,” Tim sighs. “Way to waste our afternoon, boot.”
You don’t hear a word he says. The only thing worth remembering for the foreseeable future is Tim Bradford saying, ‘You’re beautiful. No hair-do can change that or make it untrue.’ When you climb back into the shop a few minutes later, you realize that life will be hard with one of your hands out of commission.
“How am I supposed to do anything without bothering this?” you ask.
“Carefully. You just…” Tim sighs and knocks his knuckles against the steering wheel for a moment. Then he says, “Just call me if you need help.”
It takes you a second to register what he said and believe you heard him correctly, and your questioning sound communicates that.
“Don’t make me regret it,” he adds.
“Is this the ugly you meant?” you tease.
“No,” Tim answers. “This is the good.”

Levi felt a bit restless and he didn't know why. He couldn't settle as if he had an itch that he couldn't scratch. He was irritable, so he decided to take a walk and see if that would soothe him. He just needed to walk the scout halls and possibly have a cup of tea or talk to someone.
He stopped when his autopilot turned off and he realised he was on a path in the woods. He frowned as he looked around trying to figure out where he was and why he walked this way. He felt frustrated with himself and thought it was possibly due to losing his friend to a titan.
He was still new to the scouts and didn't know anyone really. He wasn't close to any member of the scouts and it pulled on his heart. He felt alone and knew he had to reach out more. However, there was one person that came to mind when he thought about being close to, you.
You and Levi had slowly gotten to know each other over wonderful cups of tea made by you. You had introduced him to so many different kinds of tea, along with some of the best treats he's ever eaten. You brought him great comfort and you made him think and feel things he'd never felt before. You flustered him.
"Levi?"
Levi flinched when he heard your soothing voice. He turned and looked down a side path to see you. He sweetly said your name and hurried over to you as if you had a magnetic pull. "Are you okay?"
You hummed a laugh. "I am. I came out here to have a little picnic."
He looked around. "A date?"
You sighed as you felt your cheeks heat up. "By myself." You smiled at him. "Would you like to join me?"
Levi felt excitement rush through him. "Yes, I'd love to."
You walked with Levi towards a little patch by a small river. You put a blanket out and made tea for you and Levi along with some snacks. You smiled at Levi as he ate quickly and seemed so excited and happy to be with you. You just smiled at seeing him so happy.
You shifted a little closer to Levi. "How are you feeling?"
Levi inhaled deeply and felt drunk on your scent. "You smell good."
Your heart skipped a beat as you and Levi gazed at each other. "Th-thank you." You gulped hard as a delicious scent rolled off Levi. You felt yourself getting hungry and a little loopy. "You...you too."
Levi clenched his fist around his cup and looked away. "I uh...you asked me a question...I feel better."
"I'm glad." You fiddled with your trousers. "I've been worried about you."
"Really? That makes me happy."
You gazed at Levi and smiled at him. "You know, you can always come to me whenever you need company." You reached over to him. "I'm here for y-."
As soon as you and Levi touched hands electricity shot through the two of you. You stared at each other and felt strong urges towards each other. You held your breath as he played with your hand a little and moved closer to you. You whined a bit and tilted your head ready for a kiss.
You turned your head when you heard people talking and getting closer. You packed the food up and stammered your words. "Th-thank you for joining m-me. I umm I need to get to Hange for m-medical reasons."
Levi frowned. "Are you sick?"
You stood up and hummed. "I-I have a sickness, yes, b-but it's manageable."
"Is there anything I can do?"
"Ye...mm...u-uh. I-I'll talk to you s-soon."
Levi stood up and watched you run off with your basket, but you left the blanket behind. He folded up the blanket and hugged it close to him. He slowly made his way back to the base as he thought about you. He always felt a strong pull to you and didn't know why. He knew he was an alpha, but he was sure you were just a beta like everyone else.
He followed your scent all the way to Hange's office and overheard the conversation inside.
You whined a little. "Hange, it's getting worse."
"Worse?"
You sighed. "Yes. The suppressants are great, but for some reason they're losing their strength. Is this normal for Omegas?"
Levi's eyes widened. "Omega?" He softly whispered so he wouldn't be heard.
Moblit cleared his throat. "Perhaps there has been a change? You've been okay for a while."
You whined a bit. "I've been spending a lot of time with Levi." The room went quiet before you spoke up. "What's with those looks?"
Hange laughed. "I think, my sweet, you have found your alpha!"
"Alpha? Levi's an alpha?"
"He sure is. You're lucky you've found each other. He's a good man. He'll look after you and he'll help you out with these feelings and needs."
You whined a bit. "I feel guilty for that."
Moblit hummed a laugh. "Do you like him more than a friend?"
"I do. I really like him a lot. I like him so much, I just don't want him to think I'm using him." You mewled a little. "I would like to be with him. Oh, but being an Omega with an Alpha, I might have to live with him and do less work."
"Don't worry, Erwin will be okay with all that."
Hange hummed in agreement. "He'll support you both. We're prepared for this since we were aware an Omega joined us."
You let out a long sigh. "Guess I mess this all up."
"You don't, darling, you don't. You were born this way and you have every right to be treated like everyone else. You'll be okay. Just have a chat with Levi."
You hummed in agreement. "Thank you, both of you. I'll see you soon."
Levi panicked a bit you were going to discover him. He knew he couldn't run and hide because you'd likely smell him. He stepped back and waited for you. He smiled a little when you walked out and saw him. He said your name with a bit of a stammer. "Hello."
You stared at Levi for a while and felt your cheeks burn. "Hello."
"I ah...I followed your scent and umm...I heard what was said."
You grabbed Levi's hand and hurried down the hall with him. You yanked him into your private room and slammed the door shut before locking it. You held the door handle and thought about the things you'd tell Levi. You wanted to talk it over with him and possibly reach an understanding.
Levi's breath hitched when your scent in your room overwhelmed him. He felt his desires and instincts bubbling up inside him. He eyed the door in the corner and knew it was your bedroom. He wanted to go in there so badly and roll around in your sheets. He wanted to press you against your bed, make a nest there and mate with you until he had nothing left to give.
"Levi?"
He turned to face you and saw you were panting a little meaning your suppressants weren't working as well as they should and he was putting you into heat. He was sure that this was because you had such strong romantic feelings for him, so your feelings were causing your desires to fight the suppressants.
He moved closer to you making you back up towards your door. "Yes?"
You gulped hard. "It is true. I'm an Omega and I've been taking things so people don't know." Your legs shook as you felt an overwhelming build-up of arousal. "I um...I have met other Alphas, but there is something about you." You squeaked a bit when Levi caged you in by placing his hands on the door on either side of you. "You do things to me. I know you probably don't feel the same, but Levi..."
Levi pressed his body against yours and kissed you roughly. He bit your lip making you moan before slipping his tongue into your mouth. He moaned in delight at how sweet and delicious you tasted. He felt as if he was finally kissing his soulmate. He was starving for you.
You wrapped your arms around Levi's neck and leaned into him and kissed him back with just as much passion. You felt so complete kissing your Alpha. You needed Levi, you needed him to be inside you. You needed him to mate with you and knot you. You craved it so badly.
Levi growled into the kiss and started fumbling with your belt and trousers. He yanked them open and tried to pull your trousers down as his erection strained against his trousers. He grunted as he got frustrated when your trousers got caught on your straps.
He shoved his hand down into your trousers and touched the outside of your panties and felt how soaked you were. He pulled from your lips dragged his hand out and studied his hand. "So much..."
You whimpered. "Levi."
He licked his fingers and felt like he could just cum at the taste. "Delicious."
You panted and gripped his shirt. "Give me a bonding mark. Mate with me. Please, I need it."
Levi growled and attacked the crook of your neck. He bit hard and made sure you had the biggest bonding mark possible. He wanted and needed people to know you were all his. He needed to be inside you now but your trousers were being difficult.
You fumbled with Levi's trousers and freed his hard and throbbing cock. You pumped your hand on him and felt he was slick with precum. You glanced down to see his tip was angry and needed to be inside you. You were desperate as well and felt like your arousal was running down your thighs.
You whimpered. "Levi, rip my trousers open."
Levi grabbed your white trousers and used his Alpha strength to tear them open at the front, along with your panties. He picked you up and pressed you against the door. He was so desperate and in a deep rut for you that he started humping right away and missing your pussy and simply rubbed along your slit.
You reached down and lifted his cock up and allowed him to slam into your pussy. You both moaned out in pleasure at finally being one. You gripped Levi's back and moaned as fucked your pussy at an unrelenting pace. You held on for dear life as your juices covered Levi's cock and dripped onto the floor below.
Levi panted as his big thick cock pounded in and out of your hot and wet pussy. He was in bliss at feeling your silken pussy walls around him. You were dragging him back in every time he pulled back. You were squeezing his cock as if your body was begging him to cum inside you. He was drooling at how cute your moans were.
"Le-Levi."
Levi gazed at you and adored the flushed look on your face and how you were in euphoric paradise from his actions. He called your name to you. "My Omega. Mine." He growled at you. "Mine, all mine. Mine to breed."
You moaned in delight. "Yours! All yours! Breed me, Alpha. Knot me. I need it. I need you."
Levi kissed you roughly as you whimpered and whined at him. His fingers dug harshly into your hips. He growled against your lips as the room filled with the sounds of your wet pussy being ravaged by his cock, your pleading moans for him to cum, the slapping your your hips together, the slight thudding of the door and his primal grunts.
He inhaled deeply and felt driven even more for you. You were filling the whole room with your scent of arousal and pleasure Levi was drunk on you and your Omega scent. He was addicted to you and was going to keep you as his forever. He moved his hips hard and fast as he tried to fuck his feelings into you.
You leaned your head back against the door and cried out in pleasure. "A-Ah! C-coming!" You screamed in delight as you came hard around Levi. Your legs shook harshly around him as you felt your veins burn. "Levi."
Levi carried you to your bedroom door and kicked it open. He yanked his cock out of you and threw you onto your bed making you whimper and cry and not feeling Levi inside you. He kicked the door closed and panted heavily as his hunger consumed him again. He watched you write and wiggle on the bed with need.
You mewled at Levi. "Alpha, please." You shift and pushed your torn trousers off and panties. "Please." You pleaded with him as his cock twitched and his base swelled a little with his knot. You turned onto your stomach and raised your hips. "Alpha Levi." You reached down and pulled your pussy open for him a little. "Mate with me. Give me your knot."
Levi ripped his trousers off and let go of the last of his restraint. He dove onto you and slammed his cock into your open pussy. He grabbed your wrists and pinned them before biting the back of your neck and bucking into you so hard and fast that his hips spanked your buttocks. He needed you more than ever.
You drooled against the bed as Levi ravaged you just the way you needed him to. You felt your arousal spilling down your thighs and onto the bed. You wiggled your arms a little and smiled when Levi moved his hands and entwined his fingers with yours. You whined at him and shivered in delight.
Levi released your neck and kissed you roughly. "I love you."
You smiled at him. "I love you too."
He panted and grunted as he felt his knot swell. "I love you so much." He whined at you. "Be mine. Be only mine."
You nodded and mewled at him. "Yes. You and me."
He kissed you one last time before kneeling up and grabbing your hips and pounding hard into you. He stared down at his cock pumping in and out of you. He shivered and whimpered as his knot kept tapping against your pussy. He needed to push it into you, but he wanted you to cum first.
He called your name. "Touch yourself."
You reached down and moved your fingers against your clit. "Yes, Alpha." You almost howled in pleasure as your eyes rolled back. "Fuck. Levi. S-so good! You're perfect. Your cock is perfect. Give me more." You cried out in pleasure as Levi pressed you against the bed under the weight of his body. You bit your fist and tried your best to move your hand under you as Levi humped you against the bed. "Mmm!"
Levi panted as he felt his urge building up. "Mate. My Omega. Mine."
You bucked hard and screamed in pleasure as a spine-tingling orgasm ripped through your body making you shake and spasm under your lover. "A-Ah! Kn-knot me!"
Levi plunged his knot into you making you and him moan in unison at him being fully connected with you. He bucked a few times against you before pressing in as deep as he could go. He smiled when you lifted your hips a little allowing him to go even further and his tip pressed past your cervix
He wrapped his arms around you and bit you hard as he poured his seed deep into you. He panted through his nose as ribbons of hot sticky cum entered your pussy. He released his jaws on you and panted a little. He licked your wound and hummed in happiness.
You giggled as Levi nuzzled the crook of your neck for attention. You turned your head and smiled at Levi. "Thank you for helping me with that sudden heat. I know it'll come rushing back soon, but I appreciate it."
Levi kissed you and sighed. "I meant what I said. I love you and I want you. I want you to be mine. This isn't about you being and Omega and me an Alpha, this is about me having very strong feelings for you."
You welled up and smiled at Levi. "I meant it all too. I want to be yours as well."
He hugged you and kissed you. "I intended this to be more romantic instead of confessing while my cock is in you and we're knotted and I'm still kind of cumming."
You laughed a little. "Cute."
"Ngh, don't laugh too much. It feels good and gets me riled up."
You giggled a bit. "Sorry, sorry."
Levi blushed and played with your hair. "You're so pretty. Oh, I guess we'd need to live together now so I can protect you from other Alphas."
You nodded and hummed in happiness. "I'd like that."
"I like you." He played with your hair. "I love you." He said your name as he blushed hard. "I love you."
You whined a little. "I love you too, Levi. I wish I could hug you."
He shifted. "Wait..." He grunted as he managed to pull out of you. "Okay."
You rolled onto your back and hugged Levi tightly. "Mm, mine."
Levi rolled onto his side with you and wrapped his body around you. He smiled sweetly as he snuggled close. "Mine. All mine."
