Ash, May and the Cake (Redone)
Here’s my third remake of an old pencil-on-paper art i did in the past.
One day, Ash and May are back at the Oldale Town diner they went to during their first time in Oldale. This time however, Ash has a surprise for his girlfriend. When May opened her eyes, she saw a giant cake on the same table she and Ash used last time. May was very excited and kissed Ash on the cheek 10 times. As Ash and May happily eat slices of the cake one by one, May happily tells her Ashy-boy that the cake is so yummy and she thanks him for the surprise. As Ash says “you’re welcome” to May, he calls her his mayflower. With nicknames like “Ashy-boy” and “mayflower”, it shows that Ash and May really love each other.
Ash and May really love to eat, especially when it comes to dessert. And when it comes to huge cakes like this one, the two lovebirds really love to share it with each other, especially when they’re out together, like they are now.

v. POKEMON you'll keep chasing that light before the dawn.
name: kira shirogane aliases: professor kira home town: kira was born and raised in oldale town in the hoenn region, before she and her family had moved to accumula town in the unova region. current location: depends, seeing as kira tends to move around from region to region a lot, but can most commonly be found around unova, kalos and hoenn. occupation: pokemon trainer, pokemon professor, pokestar studios actress
the team! currently traveling with kira right now,
" noct " : a male hydreigon, found as a deino in victory road. one of the later additions to her team that she had caught while she was on her way the first time to challenge the elite four. he only joined the team after her battle with the champion, and grew up while kira was traveling. she always carried that deino around with her in her arms, sometimes even as a zweilous (he's spoiled), until she eventually couldn't as a hydreigon.
" hoshi " : a female alolan ninetales that was a gift from her grandfather who was always traveling, given to her when she moved away from hoenn. loves attention, the star of the love and battles series.
" kazuki ": a female swampert, kira's main partner who she got as her starter pokemon when she was ten years old.
" ikki " : a female milotic, caught as a feebas when kira had gone fishing one time near fortree city in hoenn. unfortunately, she had already name her as a feebas, hence the name ikki. very calm, watches over the other pokemon and has the tendency of spraying both people and pokemon she considers unruly.
" tali " : a female espeon that kira had found as a stray eevee in slateport city, hoenn. definitely the most mischievous of the pokemon and hates staying in her pokeball, which is why tali's always seen walking around with kira. she has the tendency to wander off and get into her own trouble, but always finds her way back to kira.
" sanzu " : a male honchcrow that kira found as a murkrow when she was a kid and got lost in the woods. sanzu had been trying to steal some of her shinier things in her bag when he had stopped upon seeing a four year old kira crying. he helped her get back home and stayed with her, eventually staying in her house until he eventually decided to become her pokemon when kira went off on her own journey around hoenn, letting her keep him in a pokeball. he still tends to snatch things, though.
" nao " : a male chandelure that has the tendency of sneaking up on people, though is very shy. can commonly be seen hanging around tali, who he has always been most comfortable with.
a glimpse at those who are probably napping at home,
the shirogane clan was originally from the hoenn region. kira had grown up in oldale town along with her parents and three brothers. she was introduced to pokemon battles when she would go and watch the pokemon battles her mother would participate in, during different tournaments throughout hoenn. masako shirogane had been a strong trainer, earning that reputation with her meganium at her side. it was kira's admiration for her mother that made her want to pursue being a pokemon trainer herself.
in the year she her family planned to move to unova, she had gone on her own journey as a pokemon trainer to attempt the gym challenge, leaving with her mudkip and vulpix at her side. although she hadn't been able to defeat the champion in hoenn, she had enjoyed the experience of her journey, finding it the most fun she ever had, and it only sparked her ambition to be able to become stronger alongside her pokemon.
eventually, kira had moved to accumula town in unova, where she had taken up working as an assistant to professor juniper to learn more about pokemon. with the rise of team plasma, kira found herself following the movement of their plans after witnessing their demonstration in her hometown, and witnessing them stealing their pokemon for herself. it was her research regarding unova's ancient artifacts and it's link to the legendary dragons that caught team plasma's attention, and in order to get a better understanding of their motivations, kira had played along under the guise of her ambition and greed to learn leading her to "cooperate" with them. though, she ceased the moment they had tried to take away her pokemon.
now : kira had chosen to follow her own path of research after her period of assisting professor juniper, though instead of devoting her research to just one region, she decided to continue traveling and continue battling all the while, simply because she found it fun. at one point, kira was approached by a pokestar studio's agent after witnessing one of her battles and offered her the chance to star in a movie, which she had taken for the fun of it. starring in the " mystery doors of the magical land " series had set off her career as an actress, being known for hits such as " ghost eraser " and " love and battles ".

Whipped Cream And Mega Stones: A TreyJade x Pokémon fanfiction
Chapter 3: Putting Down Little Roots
The drive from Lilycove City to Littleroot Town was bumpy to say the least. Mud splattered against the truck’s windows nearly every time they turned onto a new route. The sound of twigs being crushed under the tires was a constant as they made their way through each densely wooded area, only ceasing whenever they rolled onto a wooden bridge over a wide, sparkling blue river. Many signs posted low speed limits and warnings for crossing wild Pokémon, and there were several points where the truck had to stop dead in its tracks as a Tropius or a pack of Pokémon called Zigzagoon darted out in front of it.
Despite the extensive research he did on the region’s geography before even applying for the assistant role, it only just now became clear to Jade that Hoenn placed far less emphasis on modernization and more on the preservation of nature than Sinnoh did. Every road seemed to be made of grass and dirt, even in the towns and a few smaller cities. The only exceptions appeared to be major cities like Lilycove and Mauville, where most of the region’s big businesses were established, while most of the other settlements, such as Fortree City, almost seemed to meld themselves into the biomes of the areas they were located, joining the natural environment in unity rather than completely replacing it.
Professor Birch’s studies mainly revolve around Pokémon habitats. Judging by the sheer expanse of this region’s wilderness, it’s no wonder he needs an assistant… Truly, I lucked out when I was accepted for this position.
“You know, I’m starting to see what my husband meant when he told me about you.” Mrs. Birch suddenly said, having been driving the past couple of minutes in silence.
Jade blinked back to attention. He’d been so absorbed in the scenery passing by his window that he’d completely forgotten about the woman driving him through it. “Pardon?”
“Oh, I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to startle you.”
“Ah, there’s no need for that. If anything, I should apologize for dropping out of conversation for so long.”
“Well, I certainly don’t blame you. My husband said he could see your eyes sparkle as you were discussing moving to our region during your interview, even though you were still acting perfectly professional. I think I just caught a glimpse of that now. Are you excited by any chance?”
“Fufufu… I suppose I am, yes.” Jade conceded, “This region’s natural landscape is truly a thing to behold. It’s all so wild, yet so clearly cared for and maintained at the same time. I can only imagine what could be hiding in the thick of it. What does each tree, shrub, and Pokémon do to survive in these temperamental climates, I wonder. What is there to discover under the tiniest rock or the largest lake?”
What might I find here that’s been seen by no one else before me?
Mrs. Birch’s smile grew even wider at Jade’s musings. “That’s a wonderful thing to hear! I’m sure you’ll come to appreciate Hoenn even more once your work officially starts. Just make sure you take the time to relax every so often, though. It would be awful if a bright young man like you were to burn out and lose all that passion you’ve shown me. Then we’d have to hire an assistant for you!”
After crossing the river of Route 103 and passing through the quaint little township known as Oldale Town, the truck finally cruised into Littleroot Town. Much like Oldale before it, Littleroot was tucked into a large clearing in its own little corner of the region, surrounded by forest on all sides. There were several rows of houses making up the community, each with just enough room between them to make a road for two cars to pass each other. Mrs. Birch pulled up beside a two-story house close to a larger, more sophisticated building that was visible from the town’s entrance, and the two hopped out.
“Here we are! Welcome to your new home, Jade.”
“Thank you for the ride, Birch-san,” Jade said, turning to address her with a polite bow once he’d taken his suitcase out of the backseat, “The professor must be very grateful to have such a lovely woman in his life.”
Mrs. Birch giggled, blushing a tiny bit. “You flatter me far too much! I just keep plans from falling through by filling in when my husband gets held up by work. He takes care of all the important parts, I assure you.”
Beyond the threshold of the entrance was a simple, rustic living room with faded tan walls and unpolished wooden floors. A flat-screen television sitting atop its short gray stand, snug against a little wooden bookcase. Across from the TV was a dull green couch that looked like it had been around since before Jade was even born, and adjacent to that stood a wooden table covered by a rosy pink tablecloth, padded wooden chairs on each of its four sides.
“Nyah?”
Atop the table was a Pokémon that Jade had seen in the Cove Lily Motel. A little cat creature with big pink ears and a skinny yellow tail topped by bulky pink fur. Upon seeing Mrs. Birch, the Pokémon leapt down to the floor and began running rings around her.
“Oh! Careful, Skitty,” She giggled as she reached down to pet the excited animal, “Yes, I’m home. Were you a good boy while I was gone?”
“Nyaaah!”
The Pokémon, a Skitty, Jade noted, chased his master’s hand around for a few more seconds before he took notice of Jade. This prompted him to bound over and run around his legs, much like before, only to end up making himself dizzy and flopping over on the floor.
“Fufufu. A spirited little thing, aren’t you?” Jade chuckled, kneeling down to scratch him behind the ears.
“Nyeeeh…”
Mrs. Birch smiled as slipped into the kitchenette visible from behind the TV and pony wall, where she began rummaging through the cabinets and unloading her cooking supplies.
“Your room is just upstairs, the last room on the right. I’m going to start making dinner, you can go ahead and get yourself settled in.”
Jade nodded, pushing down the telescoping handle of his suitcase and lifting it up by the fixed strap at the top. “I believe I will do just that. But if I may ask, will I be able to meet the professor soon? He doesn’t seem to be here.”
“He should be back in his lab by now, so you can go find him there once you’ve unpacked. It’s that big building right around the corner.”
Once again, Jade nodded and thanked her, then made for the staircase to find his new bedroom, which, as promised, was behind the last door on the right side of the hallway. The walls and floor were no different to those of the living room, minus the blue rug in the corner, and the only furniture to be seen was a basic wooden desk, dresser, and bed, which was draped in a simple blue blanket and orange pillow. Upon further inspection, however, Jade discovered a small trash can cornered between the wall and the foot of his bed.
Empty. No surprise there.
The unpacking process was a silent affair. Jade started with his clothes, removing each article of clothing from his suitcase, undoing the careful shapes he’d made of them to maximize the space for packing as much as possible, and folding them back up to fit perfectly in each drawer of the dresser. After that was finished, he moved on to sort out his personal items. His writing utensils and art supplies were organized neatly on the desktop. His nature encyclopedia, tea recipe book, and his several sketchbooks full to their covers with sketches of various plants, rocks, molds, and Pokémon were placed on the shelf attached to the desk.
A framed picture was placed next to the books, one depicted a younger version of himself and someone who looked like his mirror image wrestling in the mud. Jade cracked a smile, happy to see himself winning against his brother at that moment. Another picture showed a beautiful woman in a dark teal dress and a black sun hat. She had the same color hair as Jade, as well as his green eye color, though one of her eyes was concealed under her elegant bangs. She was holding two infants in her arms that looked remarkably similar to the boys in the first photo, which this one was set next to. Only one photo remained: A full family portrait. There they stood at the top of the Vista Lighthouse of Sunyshore City, Jade and his brother making up one end of a line, their parents forming the other half of it, each with a particular Pokémon in their arms or by their side. Jade stared at the image for a few moments, silent and unmoving, before opening one of the drawers of the desk. This was where the photo was hidden, laid face-down and shoved back into place with just a tad too much force.
Now that his life was no longer contained in his suitcase, Jade took a deep breath and sat himself on the edge of his bed. It was then he took a look around his new bedroom, fully processing every inch of the space he could see.
… I always thought I would be excited to have a room all to myself. And yet…
“Nyah?”
Skitty peered into the open doorway, his proportionately large head tilted in curiosity, before approaching Jade again.
“Oh, hello,” Jade greeted the Pokémon casually, “Come to check on your new housemate, have you?”
Skitty responded by bouncing up to him and rubbing his head against his shins, letting out a soft purr as he did so. Once more, Jade bent down to gently pet him.
“Fufufu. You’re going to be seeing my face a lot from now on, you know. That won’t be a problem for you, will it?”
“Nyah…” Was Skitty’s reply. He was halfway leaned into Jade’s touch before he seemed to finally take notice of his own tail, which he proceeded to chase in a circle while letting out some determined (and adorable) noises until he dizzily collapsed.
Right… Now isn’t the time for moping. I need to focus on what brought me here in the first place.
Nodding to himself, Jade scooped the little feline into his arms and stood to his full height, then made for the door leading back into the hallway.
I’d say it’s about time I introduced myself to the professor.

Actually, you know what, lets start discourse. Hoenn cities ranked:
Lilycove. Basically my home base, and my two favorite places (Sharkie's Magikarp Sanctuary and the Aqua-Magma Conservatory) are nearby.
Mossdeep: I have a lot of memories there, some good and some bad, but its all cancelled out because Tate and Liza are there and they are objectively the best gym leaders.
Sootopolis: City built in a crater. Real cool. Loses points for having Groudon and Kyogre trapped under it.
Pacifidlog: You built a whole town on the water! How cool is that!
Meteor Village: Gotta give a shoutout to Z's hometown. Great place to learn about Ancient Hoenn stuff.
LaRousse City: Home of the Battle Frontier. Kickass in general. Had to help out in a hurricane there once.
Lavaridge Town: Still think its insane to build a town next to a volcano but it does have Flannery.
Dewford Town: I know, I know, there's not a lot there but its where I met Steven for the first time. Technically also where I met Zinnia depending on what you count as "Meeting."
Fortree City: I'm gonna be honest, I'm pretty sure this city is every 8 year old's dream. Or it was when I was a kid, at least. Not sure how into treehouses modern kids are.
Slateport City: I love the sea and I love port cities. It reminds me of all the best parts of Goldenrod but without any of the shit parts (you know, like Team Rocket and my bio father). Plus, if you hang around the market enough you can hear all sorts of stories from trainers from all over the globe.
Verdanturf Town: There's not a lot interesting here but I gotta give a shoutout to my boy Wally's home.
Mauville: Mauville is problematic for obvious reasons but also its really fucking cool. Plus Wattson's there.
Littleroot Town: Finally getting around to my Hometow. Well, my Hoenn Hometown. Its nice and quaint and my Uncle and Mom live there so, you know, cool.
Petalburg: It's only this low on the list because I refuse to give Norman a break.
Oldale Town: Booooorrrrriiiinggg! I'm sure the people are nice but its such a boring town. I legit have more interesting memories from Route 103 than Oldale.
Ever Grande: Its a League City so there's not much going on there during the off season but its absolutely bustling during League Season. Sometimes I like to watch the League Matches on the big screens they have. Nobody's beaten Steven yet but a few have gotten close.
Falarbor Town: Hmm... a town created for the purpose of mining meteors to study which directly led to the death of Zinnia's sister. I wonder why I have a negative opinion of this place.
Rustboro: Capitalism ho!
Some of these are arbitrary, most of them aren't. Bye!

shiny story!!! I was replaying omega ruby, and I have a joke system honor thing where I catch a male wingull to name Bob every playthrough, usually going in a box. I was in the route above Oldale Town, looking for a male Wingull... And she was shiny!! A girl, but I wasnt tossing away a shiny, and named her Bob anyway, she made it to the team too. She was my first shiny, since I hadn't shiny hunted then, and never found a random one.
Congrats to Bob! :D

You know, the Pokemon fanbase's tendency for nostalgia has always gotten on my nerves. It might be because I'm just not a nostalgic person, I have generally viewed my life as being much better as an adult than as a child, let alone the hell of my teen years. It might also be that I'm like, one of the few Gen 1 guys who doesn't have a preference for that era of Pokemon. I'm in a weird position as a Pokemon fan.
So I'm starting to go through the older games. I started Pokemon Red a while back. I...stopped before Misty because I just didn't feel like continuing. And I'm starting Pokemon Emerald. And five minutes in I think I get why people praise it so much. It's very stylized for its limitations. Even before getting to Oldale Town I can tell why people like the games for kid-like grandioseness with its smaller size and detail. But if I were to judge the games based on the feeling of 'wandering into the nearby woods into another world'- I think SV's Poco Path is better with the better defined path, grassy sides and the ability to fuck off to some side area.

I got curious so here's the map in the title card and here's the corresponding area on the ORAS map
Dewford's a different shape than in the og games, so's the coastline, though I can still see somewhat of a resemblance to the og. That island over by cycling road still seems to be the right shape. The towns still match up, though. Littleroot, Oldale, Petaburg, Dewford, Rustboro, Slateport, Verdanturf, and Mauville are all where they should be.
It's a shame they'll be visiting the lame Mauville, though.

Blue Skies Ahead, chapter 21
Summary: Ivy is flighty; even the people who love her unconditionally will readily admit that. When she impulsively decides to leave on a Pokémon journey one morning, no expects her to stick to it for long. But if there’s anything Ivy is good at, it’s doing what people least expect!
An OC-based ORAS/Emerald rewrite.
Chapter 21 - Petalburg City
Petalburg City’s port was small. It wasn’t a business or trading center like Rustboro or Slateport, just a city that had grown organically from a strategically placed town. Not too rocky, not too forested, and by the water; a perfect place to live and work.
Ivy had been to Petalburg hundreds of times before. Both Littleroot and Oldale were rather small, so getting certain items meant going further away. Ivy always begged to come along, loving adventure and travel, and her parents usually agreed. She didn’t know her way around like a native, but she knew it well enough. Taking a shortcut or two, within twenty minutes she was standing outside her dad’s gym.
She wasn’t the only one.
Standing right in front of the entrance alongside a short man with sandy brown hair, was Wally.

The next day.
My dad got a call from his boss, Nolan, saying that Professor Birch had something to discuss with me when I was ready to head out. My parents and I decided I’d travel with him to the Johto region and start my studies at the Indigo Academy, the one branch located in Violet City.
With my bag packed and Psyduck by my side, we were both ready to start this adventure. We traveled through Slateport City in search of someone to get us to Petalburg City quicker. We went looking for a friend of my parents, an old man named Mr. Briney. He’s a very nice man and offered to bring me to Petalburg City. His Wingull “Peeko” played with Psyduck the whole way as Mr. Briney shared several stories of his travels in his younger years. We finally arrived at his boathouse outside of Petalburg City and said that we could rely on him anytime we need him in the future.
After traversing several routes, and passing through both Petalburg City and Oldale Town, we finally made it over to Littleroot Town to visit with Professor Birch. Professor Birch and I discussed the opportunity to go to the school in the Johto region. I accepted, of course, and he let me know that he had business with Professor Elm in Johto anyway, so we waited to set out the next morning.
After several hours of travel, we finally made it to the Johto region! I’d never been before, so this was sure to be an exciting adventure!
