I love how the takeaway from Oliver's interviews so far is "I see what the Buddie stans see and I've tried to not let it affect my acting too much bc I'm not supposed to, but in season 7 I said fuck it I was gonna make Buck bi whether the writers gave him that arc or not and of course I was gonna do that by making the Buddie scenes extra gay"

...right? Is that not basically what we've learned? Please do correct me if I misunderstood anything because if I didn't this is WILD

(Let it be known that I'm a BuckTommy positive Buddie shipper, I love both ships I'm just more attached to Buddie so BuckTommy hate will not be tolerated)

Ungh, these latest Oliver Stark interviews are just devastating to watch, I am not strong enough-- Oliver Stark being our casual GOAT by serving bi awareness with every meal, and also... for once getting to see him wear green (green is so his color) 🫣💕

The response has been beautiful - like I can’t tell you how many wonderful messages I received from people who are openly queer and people who are not openly queer, which has been really amazing for me to see. I’ve received messages from firefighters who have said, “I’m not out and seeing this means the world to me.” I could never in a million years of expected to be getting those messages, so it’s very humbling and just a really amazing experience for me to get to be a part of that.

Read the fuckin' interview, god. Ryan literally said he refused to play Eddie as violent, wanting to hit Buck. So he made him softer and more hurt, fragile and broken—not angry—and that is the canon scene.

In the same interview, Oliver says there’s a high level of trust, so he went on without issues. He wasn’t scared or uncomfortable—don’t make it a problem when it isn’t one. Ryan didn’t want to hit him, and the scene you see is exactly how it was meant to be: not abusive, as some have imagined. The way Eddie points at Buck and grabs him is totally in character—it’s how he makes himself heard. You can see it for yourselves:

If you're projecting a fantasy of Eddie being violent or abusive just to make Buck a helpless victim, that's your issue—not what’s actually on screen. Ryan explicitly didn’t want Eddie portrayed that way, and Oliver wasn’t worried or uncomfortable at all. Twisting that emotionally raw, powerful scene—where a main character finally breaks down and speaks his truth to the person he trusts most—into something sinister just to hate on Eddie or discredit Buddie fans is disturbing. That scene was agonizing and full of pathos, not abuse.
