"The other lords will be accompanying me for a drink in the Throne Room. Shall you join us, Wife?" Aegon asked, a slightly eager smile on his face, anticipating your agreement.
You sighed as you began to undo the braids in your hair, "The hour is late, Husband. I must rest."
Aegon pouted, "Just a cup! We've attended to our royal duties all day, have we not earned a bit of respite?"
"Respite is what I shall get with a good night's sleep. Not drinking until sunrise with you and your comrades," you teased. You stood from seat at your vanity, walking over and placing Aegon's hand on your growing bump, "Besides, do you not wish for our babe to be born healthy? So that they may grow into formidable dragon riders like their parents."
He smiled softly at your belly before kissing it sweetly, "You make a good point, my dear. Mayhaps I should stay in with you."
You shook your head, smiling down at him, "Do not let me stop your fun. You are right. The King deserves his respite. Besides there may not be many more nights where we get to enjoy ourselves," motioning to your bump.
"You are going to make a wonderful mother," Aegon stood from his seat, "I shall allow you to enjoy your last moments of rest then." He planted a soft kiss on your lips, "I love you, Y/N."
You stroked his hair, "I love you, Aegon."
Aegon kissed you once more before giving your belly a playful squeeze and disappearing from your chambers. You summoned one of your ladies to help you finish getting ready for bed. Thanking her as you got yourself comfortable between the silk sheets of you and Aegon's bed. Finally bidding her good night as she blew out most of the candles, leaving a few on for Aegon's drunken return.
You could not be sure of the hour when you heard your chamber doors creak open followed by the shuffling of feet. You did not even bother opening your eyes, assuming you'd feel the bed indent as Aegon stumbled towards it.
"Back so soon?" you teased, "I was only being half serious about the sunset-"
Suddenly, a large hand clamped over your mouth. Your eyes shot open as two men loomed over you. You screamed and panicked as the larger man used his other arm to keep you pinned to the bed.
"Quiet!" the smaller man pulled a blade out, pressing it to your throat, "Unless you want me to bleed you like a pig."
You nodded, terrified of what these men could do, "W-Who are you? What do you want?"
"Its not our wants you should be concerned with, Your Grace."
"Who sent you? What do y-you want from me?" your voice shook.
"A life is owed. It wasn't supposed to be you. A son for a son we were told," the smaller man shrugged, "But it seems Prince Aemond isn't in the castle tonight."
Of course, you thought. This was about Lucerys. Your younger brother had taken the boy's life and that was a deed that could not go unpunished. You knew how deeply your eldest sister loved all of her children. The loss of one would be devastating. Taking Aemond's life made sense. But taking yours? And the life of your unborn child? That was not in Rhaenyra's nature. This was plotted by someone far more sinister and dark.
"My uncle sent you, didn't he?" you spoke up. They both sent stares to the other, "Daemon Targaryen. He sent you to kill one of us."
The large man scoffed, "Aren't you a smart one?"
"Shame those smarts won't do you any good now, will they?" the smaller one mocked.
"Please," you tried to beg, "Do not do this. No good will-" The large hand came down on your mouth again.
"That's enough," he grunted before turning back to the smaller man, "I'll hold her down and you cut."
Your blood ran cold at his words. Not only were they going to kill you but they were going to tortuously cut out your unborn child. They both yanked you further down the bed until you were flat on your back. You tried to kick, scream, bite, thrash as much as you could but the man proved to have almost inhuman strength. The smaller man raised his blade, that same sadistic grin plastered on his face before he began to dig it into the lower part of your abdomen.
White hot pain seared through your body as he continued to slice into you. Your vision was blurred with tears and you could have sworn your throat was raw from your cries. Though the pain was so intense that you could not process the sounds that might have been leaving you. Warm blood pooled all around you, the once ivory sheets now a deep crimson. One last gasp left you as they pulled your child from your body.
Suddenly you had remembered your mother telling you about the pains of childbirth when you first married Aegon and all anyone could talk about was you producing his heirs. She had a rather negative approach that utterly terrified you. So, you decided to find comfort in Rhaenyra's advice instead.
"I will not withhold the truth from you, it truly is the most excruciating pain a woman must go through."
You groaned, "That is not what I had wished to hear, Sister."
"You did not let me finish. The process is hard, yes. And you will feel the urge to curse the Gods or even your husband and swear to never bear anymore children," you both laughed, "But the moment you hear those sweet cries and your babe is placed upon your chest, the pain is forgotten. And nothing has ever seemed so worth it. Then you will know, right then and there, that you would do it all over again if it meant you could finally find that purest form of love."
And yet, you would never discover that beautiful feeling your sister had painted so clearly. The room was almost eerily silent besides the dripping of blood onto the stone floor.
"What do you know?" the man panted as he held your lifeless infant, "A son. Congratulations, my Queen."
You could not speak as you felt your body numb itself. Tears falling with no cries as they stuffed your son's body into a sack. It was as if you could feel your heart shatter. The men finished their sinister act before fleeing through a secret passageway. You tried little to fight the heaviness in your eyes. Perhaps this was all a horrible dream and if you shut your eyes, you'd open them to find yourself in bed with Aegon's arms wrapped securely around your belly. The last thing you could muster was a small smile at the sentimental image as your vision faded out completely.
"Sister?" Helaena called out into your bed chamber, "I did not wish to wake you but Aegon is being so loud and I cannot sleep with him-" Her voice caught in her throat at the sight of your mangled body lying on the bed. Your figure lifeless and your eyes vacant as you stared at the canopy. She approached your body, a shaky hand reaching out to touch your face to be met with utter stillness. Helaena backed out of the room slowly, tears flowing down her cheeks before sprinting to find some sort of help. As if anyone could undo what had already been done.
"I-I don't know what happened. I came in and she...she was..." Helaena's voice cracked with sobs as various people filed into the royal bed chamber; the Kingsguard, the Dowager Queen, the Hand, and lastly, your husband.
They all stopped at the sight before them, their eyes welling with tears and their stomachs churning. The Dowager Queen let out a heavy sob as all their attention turned to the King. Aegon approached your body cautiously.
He fell to his knees, his hands cradling your bloodied face as he sobbed, "My wife, my dearest-"
Nobody dared say a word as Aegon mourned over you. His sobs heavy with grief as he called out your name over and over again. The Queen Mother clutching Helaena's arm as they cried with him. The Kingsguard hanging their heads low in shame at their failure to protect their Queen. Otto Hightower, known to be quick with his word, said nothing.
The council meeting that followed was one full of dread and grief. Most of the council mourned, the Hand schemed, and the King could do not but curse the Gods and swear revenge.
"Your Grace, perhaps we should speak of the funeral arrangements for the Queen-"
"No," Aegon was quick to stop the Hand, who raised a brow at his grandson's denial, "I will not have my wife's body dragged through the streets like a dog!"
"Not dragged, honored!" Otto corrected him before lowering his tone as he spoke to the King, "Y/N was my granddaughter and I loved her. She deserves the funeral of a Targaryen princess, a Targaryen queen. The small folk wish to mourn their Queen and the heir she carried. And they need to know who is responsible for this."
Aegon's face twisted in disbelief, "How could they not already know?! Who else would do this save the bitch queen of bastards?!"
"We must know for certain, Your Grace," Lord Jasper suggested, "If it was not your sister, this may prove to be an even bigger threat to the crown, to you, my King."
Aegon scoffed, "I do not care what threatens me. My wife is dead. And my child," he stifled a sob, "That cunt did this, I know it. Her and her kingdom of traitorous bastards will burn for it."
Before anyone could speak, the doors of the council chamber opened as Lord Larys entered. He bowed meekly as all eyes turned to him.
"My lords, Your Grace," he greeted the council.
All stood still, "State your purpose, Lord Larys," the Hand spoke.
"We have apprehended one of the assailants. A gold cloak, known for his brutal nature. The guards caught him fleeing the Gate of Gods. He carried the child's body in a sack."
The King hardly wasted any time, stomping over to the doors, "I shall kill him myself."
"We might retrieve further information about who is to blame for this tragedy after questioning," Ser Criston stopped Aegon from leaving as Otto spoke, "I trust in your skill set, Lord Larys."
The Strong Lord bowed before exiting the room. All eyes turned once again to the King and his Hand.
"We will hold the service for both the child and mother-"
"I said no," Aegon grunted, "My wife and child will not be put on display for the Realm."
"Your Grace, we might use this to our advantage in the war you wish to march into. Your people need to know the depravity that Rhaenyra is capable of. The great houses of Westeros will see that she is not fit to rule given her cruel nature. They will flock to your side and with them, their armies and bannermen."
Aegon continued to shake his head. He could not just let them see you or your child like that. They did not deserve it.
"Mother," he turned to the Dowager Queen for support.
Alicent approached Aegon's chair, "The Hand sets on a difficult path, my darling, but it might be the right one."
The King could not muster anymore fight, "Have the Silent Sisters prepare the Queen and child for their journey. Behind them will be Princess Helaena and the Queen Mother."
"No, I do not wish to be a spectacle," Alicent argued but her father would not hear it.
Your husband visited your body as the Silent Sisters began to prepare it. They had cleaned the mess and dressed you in one of your favorite dresses, the emerald color complimenting your skin and hair.
"Your Grace, it is ill-fated to look upon the face of death," Maester Orwyle warned.
"That is not the face of death, Maester. That is my wife," Aegon spoke, "Leave me with her."
Maester Orwyle and the Silent Sisters bowed before leaving the King with your body. He softly stroked the hair from your face as he broke into sobs once again.
"I am so sorry, my love," he cried, "I-I should have been there to protect you. And our son." Maester Orwyle had informed His Grace that the child you carried was a prince, a perfect heir, "You truly would have been the most wonderful mother. You were already a perfect wife and Queen. Motherhood would have come naturally."
Aegon recounted how well you did with Rhaenyra's last two babies, the ones she had with his uncle Daemon. As much as he did not care for his half-sister, he knew you did. Always quick to defend her, even against your own family. So, he was forced to ask himself, how could she do this to you? To your child?
"They will pay for what they have done," your husband muttered to you, "I will win this war. I will win it for our child. I will win it for you. With fire and blood. Your sacrifice will not be for naught, my Queen."

Warning : typical inscet Targaryen, Aegon being soft(?), angst, mention of blood, labor.
Tumblr media
Two years after the marriage between Rhaenyra and Leanor and also after repeated failures in trying to get pregnant, Rhaenyra today gave birth to her first daughter. You were born healthy, have Targaryen beauty with a silver hair on your head.
You were fast asleep in your mother's arms who was smiling at you, then the door of her chambers opened to reveal Leanor entering in a hurry “I heard it, a girl. oh this is great news”
Leanor comes closer and strokes your cheek gently, you open your eyes and look at him. "She has your eyes, she is very beautiful" Leanor smiles at Rhaenyra and he nodded his head.
Soon enough news of your birth reached King and Queen ears. The two of them immediately went to your mother's chambers to see how you two were doing.
“oh my daughter, I am proud of you. I hope the birth goes smoothly." Viserys approached his daughter and gave her a warm hug which Rhaenyra immediately returned.
"She was born without any fuss father" Rhaenyra smiled and looked at Alicent who was holding her daughter.
"She’s so beautiful, what a lovely babe you have bought to this world my love."
Rhaenyra laughed softly at her father's demands, she held her father's hand tightly. “she has her father eyes” Alicent spoke quietly while looking at you carefully.
“indeed your grace, she's the perfect mix of me and Rhaenyra” The king smiled hearing Leanor say that
"Have you given her a name?" Rhaenyra looked at her stepmother and nodded, she had thought of a suitable name for you long before you were born.
"Her name is, y/n" Viserys smiled and gently stroked his daughter's arm. "That's a beautiful name for a beautiful princess"
“y/n, I'm sure you will grow up to be a very beautiful princess in the future.”
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years. You're now already ten and fifteen name days old, what Alicent said is true. You grew up to be a beautiful princess and was highly respected at court, You are a very innocent , shy and cheerful girl.
Two years after your birth, your mother gave birth to your younger brother, Jacaerys. A few years later your mother again gave birth to a son, Lucerys and now, a few days before your name day celebration. Your mother gave birth to a son again who was named Joffrey.
You are very happy knowing you have many siblings, but the physical differences between you and your other siblings make you not very uncomfortable with all the whispers that speak ill of your mother and siblings.
Tumblr media
"Father, I want you to crown Aegon as the next heir to the throne."
Everyone at the council table fell silent and looked at Rhaenyra in surprise, including Otto and Alicent. Viserys choked on his wine, he looked at his daughter in disbelief. Rhaenyra took a deep breath before she looked at her father's face.
"I realize that the realm will not agree if a queen sits on the iron throne"
She knew very well that if one day she ascended the throne, many would oppose her and there would be war. because the situation had changed when Aegon was born, the son the king had longed for.
"However, before that I want to give you one condition."
Otto and Alicent looked at Rhaenyra carefully, feeling happy and anxious at the same time. Viserys was just silent and listened to every word his daughter said.
"I attended to marry my daughter, my heir. y/n to Aegon, let them rule the kingdom together”
While on the other side in the keep, you are reading your book in the garden, sometimes you just want to be alone and away from the hustle and bustle of the court. While you are enjoying the book you are reading, your attention is distracted by someone standing in front of you.
"Princess, I'm sorry to interrupt your time. but the King and Queen is waiting for your presence in council chamber." you turned your gaze and looked at Ser Criston Cole. you smiled and nodded slowly “thank you Ser Criston”
You stood up and straightened your dress a little, you walked confidently towards the council chamber. You smile and greet everyone you meet in the hallway.
When you walk in, you can see the presence of your mother, the Kinb, Queen and also the king's hand. You bowed your body slightly before finally walking closer to your mother.
"I’m sorry for the disturbance, princess. but there is something important we have to discuss with you, please have a seat” you looked at Alicent and nodded slowly.
“Oh not at all your Grace, you don't disturb my time at all.”
“Your mother just spoke about something” You listened carefully and nodded slowly, you could see your mother was very nervous but she still smiled in front of you.
Your grandsire sigh before he speak “She wants Aegon to be the next heir to the throne” this is when you looked at your mother in surprise, you didn't understand what she was thinking. Alicent, who realized how surprised you were, cleared her throat softly and continued her husband's words. "We were just as surprised as you, princess."
“you’re the princess of the realm and you have duties to full field. you have to marry and bring an heir of yourself, i attend to marry you with Aegon” As the king continues speaking you’re silent for a moment, the decision you must accept for the peace of the realm or maybe the peace for this family.
“my love? what do you think about this?” Your mother's voice brought you out of your thoughts, you looked at everyone carefully before you finally gave your answer
“I can't possibly refuse this grandsire, if this is the best decision then I accept it” you smiled.
Hearing this made Viserys smile, he then looked at his wife and daughter. “then it’s settled then, you will be married to Aegon in several months”
After the conversation in the council chambers, you and your mother are now in her chambers. You looked at your mother in astonishment, “What are you thinking? What does all this mean? I have no problem marrying Aegon. but why do you ask to change the order of the throne?”
you can see your mother sigh and massage her temples slowly, she looks at you and you can see the worry and tiredness on her face . "I just want to prevent war, my dear, if later when I ascend the throne, the entire realm will definitely not accept it well. no queen has ever sit the iron throne before”
You closed your eyes and took a deep breath, you heard your mother's bedroom door being forced open and revealed your father, Leanor, who looked in a hurry. “What the fuck did I just hear? is it true that you asked Aegon to be heir to the throne?”
You looked at your father in shock, it seemed like your father didn't realize you were there. your mother looked at your father and then looked at you, “dove, I will talk to your father. You can go back to your quarters."
Your father, who just realized your presence, flinched, he smiled awkwardly. "My love, sorry I didn't see you. I'll see you after this." You just nodded and walked out of your mother's chambers , you decided to go back to the garden.
You just nodded and walked out of your mother's room, you decided to go back to the garden. Now in the same place you go back to reading your book, to divert the thoughts that are running around in your head.
“well hello beautiful, what are you doing here?”
You looked away from the book and saw Aegon standing in front of you with his signature smile, you smiled and then closed your book.
“Uncle, I was just reading my book” you smiled then shifted a little so he could sit next to you.
“Sorry dove, I can't bring you flowers today” you could hear the disappointment in his voice and you laughed softly.
"It's okay, just having you here makes me happy"
Aegon lay his head on your lap, you smiled and continued your reading. "Do you know? "This book, it really disturbs my view right now" Aegon took the book in your hand and put it aside, you laughed softly and looked at his face.
"Hey, I'm telling the truth, I'm looking at the most beautiful woman's but the book is blocking my view."
You smiled and gently ruffled his hair, Aegon just laughed softly when he saw you were embarrassed. he likes to see you blush and also laugh out loud when you're around him.
"I was very happy when I found out I would marry you"
You looked at him in shock, you didn't expect that he already knew about it. "I heard the conversation with my grandfather when I was called to his room, are you happy with this dove?"
You shook your head slowly, “of course i’m happy Aegon.” You gently combed his hair and said "I can't think of a more suitable husband for me."

The great sept was decorated with a symphony of colors and opulence greeted the eyes of all who entered. Flowers of every hue adorned the edges, their fragrance mingling with the air.
As you made your way down the aisle, the guests turned their heads, their eyes widening in awe. The radiant bride, accompanied by your father, glided with grace and elegance. you look breathtaking, with white gown that hug your curve perfectly, and your neat braided hair.
At the end of the aisle stood Aegon, the new heir to the throne and your betrothed. His presence was strong and radiating, his eye locked on you with unwavering adoration. You can see his smiles reflected a shared joy, celebrating the union that was about to take place.
On your side of the aisle, your mother, Rhaenyra stood as your pillar of support. Clutching the bouquet of white roses, her eyes glistened with tears of happiness. you two shared a glance, their bond unbreakable, a silent reassurance of love.
The septon, adorned in his ceremonial robes, stood before the altar, ready to officiate the union. The guests held their breath, their eyes fixed on the couple before them, as the sacred vows of love and loyalty would be exchanged.
As you took your place beside Aegon at the altar, "You may now cloak the bride and bring her under your protection." the septon's voice voice resonated through the sept, his words carrying the weight of tradition and sacredness.
Aegon then removes your 'Maidens cloak' bearing the sigil of your birth house, Velaryon and replaced it by cloak' of Targaryen house signifying that Aegon taking over the protection of you.
"We stand here in the sight of gods and men to witness the union of man and wife: one flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever.” The septon's powerful proclamation reverberated through the grand sept, reaching the ears of all the guest. As the septon continued with his sermon.
The septon's voice carried the weight of tradition and solemnity as he guided you and Aegon through the final steps of their union. With gentle yet purposeful movements, he began to tie their hands together with a ribbon, symbolizing the binding of their souls as one for eternity.
"In the sight of the Seven," the septon declared, his words resonating through the hallowed space of the grand sept, "I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity." The ribbon encircled their joined hands.
Turning towards each other, your eyes locked once again, you and Aegon spoke in unison, your voices blending harmoniously as they uttered the sacred words. The presence of the gods seemed to permeate the air, lending an air of sanctity to the moment.
"Father, Smith, Warrior, Mother, Maiden, Crone, Stranger..." their voices carried the weight of conviction and devotion.
"I am hers and she is mine. From this day, until the end of my days," Aegon vowed, his voice filled with unwavering commitment.
"I am his and he is mine. From this day, until the end of my days," you echoed. Their voices intertwined, their souls merging in that sacred space.
Aegon’s eye shimmering with unwavering love, gently cradled your face in his hands. His touch was tender, filled with a reverence befitting the solemnity of the moment.
With a soft, lingering touch, Aegon's lips met yours, your first kiss as husband and wife. And their first kiss ever. It was a gentle meeting of souls. In that intimate embrace, time seemed to stand still, the world fading away, leaving only the warmth of their connection.
The guests watched in awe and reverence as the couple sealed their vows with this symbolic gesture. The room was filled with a palpable energy, a collective recognition of the sacredness of the union unfolding before them.
As their lips parted, Aegon whispered, "With this kiss, I pledge my love to you, y/n Targaryen." His words echoed through the hall.
your eyes sparkled with joy as you met Aegon gaze. your voice whispered, "And with this kiss, I pledge my love to you, Aegon Targaryen.”
The septon, catching the low exchange, cleared his throat and raised his voice even louder, ensuring that all present heard his proclamation. "Let it be known that Aegon Targaryen of House Targaryen and y/n Velaryon of House Velaryon are one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder.” The room erupted into thunderous applause and cheers, the joyous sound echoing throughout the grand hall of the Great Sept.
Tumblr media
You couldn't believe that it had been almost a year since you and Aegon had been married, and in a matter of days the two of you would be holding your first child.
love what are you doing? you should been resting in our chambers” You turned your head and saw your husband walking over with Aemond beside him. You smiled and tried to stand up from your chair but Aegon quickly held you back.
“just please stay seated, i know this pregnancy had make you suffer” you smile and kiss his lips that makes Aemond groan. “she’s here at the request of both of us, Aegon” Alicent's voice made the three of you turn around, you saw the queen walking along with your mom, Rhaenyra. Their relationship only got better after the day you and Aegon got married, and honestly that made you happy.
They want to discuss several important matters with the kingdom. Since your grandsire health became increasingly worse, Aegon began to learn to manage the kingdom, of course accompanied by the queen and your mother.
“but mother, will y/n be okay? we don't know when the babe will be born” you could hear the worry and worry in his voice, you smiled and took his hand giving his hand reassuring squeeze. "I'll be fine, especially if the babe is born today. everyone is ready”
The meeting went smoothly, Aemond informed that the security of Kings Landing had improved with the addition of Gold Cloak troops in the city. Rhaenyra also said that the war taking place in the narrow sea was under control, you listen to everything that is said. Aegon of course also sometimes gives advice.
You felt pain in your stomach which made you shift uncomfortably in your chair, no one noticed it apart from your husband. Aegon looked at you worriedly and stroked your hand from under the table, “I'm fine, just a little tired” you said quietly with a smile.
Aegon nodded and focused himself again on the meetings, but he knew that something was wrong with you. you tried your best to hold back the pain which was getting worse, you whimpered softly making everyone look at you worriedly. "My love? What’s wrong?" you can hear your mother's voice. you couldn't answer and could only whimper softly, you could feel something running down your leg and you knew very well that something was wrong now.
“Is it the babe? shit, Aemond, call the Maester and the midwives to my chambers now!" Aegon shouted at Aemond and immediately carried you towards your chambers. you groaned and hugged your husband's neck tightly, ‘what happened?’ You are very scared now, You are afraid that something will happen to the babe, many women in your family have died or their babies have not survived the birthing process.
Aegon laid you down on the bed and looked towards the door, “where are the fucking midwives! hurry fucking up!” he screamed like crazy, he didn't want anything to happen to his babe, something to happen to you.
Your mother and also Alicent tried to help you to stay calm, they wiped the sweat that appeared on your forehead, give words of encouragement and also hold your hand. Your breathing are becoming hard and your vision starts to blur because of the pain and tears that accumulate on your eyelids.
“it hurts mothers, this hurts so much” you cried softly as you squeezed both of their hands, Aegon looked back at you and immediately knelt beside your bed. “Dove, look at me.” You looked at him, his gaze radiating worry and fear.
“I'm here, I'll be by your side. please hang in there” he whispered and kissed your forehead.
Not long after you are now surrounded by many midwives and also the Maester. Scream after scream could be heard clearly throughout the Red Keep making everyone who heard it shudder in horror, they knew that their princess was fighting between life and death to give birth to her first child with the prince.
"If you feel any contractions, I want you to start to push, princess.”
The voice of the midwife was faint, you gripped Aegon’s forearm until your nails turned white. Aegon kept his word to be by your side, he ignored your mother and Alicent's words. said that the birthing room was not he right to attend. Another scream was heard indicating that another contraction hit your body, with all the strength, you began to push.
"I feel the head! a few more pushes and he'll be here."
you pushed with all your might and after a few moments you threw your head back on the pillow and took a deep breath, you could heard a very loud cry which made your heart feel relieved. You looked at the midwife who was smiling broadly while holding a red bundle in her hands.
"congratulations princess, you have a son. a healthy one, he’s kicking like a goat"
you smiled weakly and with the remaining strength you had you reached out your hand to take your son, you looked at your son face with a small smile adorning your tired and sweaty face. you could feel Aegon kiss your forehead, “you did it, you gave birth to our child.”
You smiled at your husband and slowly gave your son into his arms. You smiled seeing him cradling your son. after a moment you closed your eyes as you felt the pain wash over your body once again, a small groan escaped your lips which made Aegon look at you worriedly.
"What is this? Is this the afterbirth?” you, with panicked eyes looked at the midwife. The midwife then looked under the blanket, in a worried tone she directed the other midwife to get ready.
"my apologize princess, but it looks like you are pregnant with twins. for that I hope if possible you should come to push as you felt another contraction”
you looked Aegon in shocked and prepared again to give birth to your second babe. With the remaining strength you had, you started to push ad you feel another painful contraction. You twitched in pain and that makes Aegon worried. “it’s hurt! i can’t do this please make it stop”
You cried which made Aegon walk towards the Maester “what happened? why is she in pain?!” Maester came closer and felt your stomach to check what was wrong with the babe, you saw his face change and became afraid.
“I'm sorry prince, but I think this baby is breech” breech? oh my gosh you're even more scared now, your cries are mixed with very scary screams.
“For this, we can do a procedure where we rotate the babe so that it is in the correct position or we can cut the mother's womb so that we can take the babe out”
Aegon looked at the Maester in horror, angrily Aegon pointed the dagger at his neck. "Don't ever think I will allow you to cut open my wife!"
you cried and called his name, Aegon looked at the Maester sharply and immediately walked closer to you. "my love it’s okey, i’m here you’re safe. I won't let anyone cut open your womb, there’s no fucking way," he suppressed all his words.
Your fear grew bigger when the maester approached and started to feel your stomach, "Sorry princess, but this might hurt a little" you just nodded and squeezed Aegon's hand when the Maester did his job, the pain was all you felt. You screamed in pain and told him to stop, after a while the Maester looked back at the midwives and nodded.
“alright princess, if you feel one more contraction I want you to push, okay?” You nodded weakly, you were very tired now. Your nightgown is wet because of your sweat, there is also a lot of blood on it. You took a deep breath as you felt the pain and contractions slowly creep through your body, with the remaining strength you had you tried to give birth your child.
You shook your head and leaned back against the pillow, crying and looking at your husband. he looked very messy, his hair was messy and his eyes were bloodshot. Aegon's heart ached, it hurt when he saw his soulmate looked like this.
“my love, you have to do this. I know it hurts a lot, but I won't be able to live without you. I'm begging for my sake, for the sake of our child” Aegon kissed your forehead several times while continuing to say those words, you realized that your husband and children needed you.
You took a deep breath before you finally pushed with the remaining strength you had. After a few moments the sound of the baby crying was heard, which was not too loud but clear. you turned your head to look for your babe and you can felt your heart hurt, you was afraid something had happened to your little babe.
“Aegon? what happened? please tell me that the babe is okey? right?” You turned to Aegon and looked at him sadly, Aegon was also feeling very worried. he didn't know what happened because after your baby came out, the midwives immediately took him away.
"Congratulations my prince, you have a daughter” the maester's voice sounded, making your heart feel relieved, you took a deep breath and lay back down.
Aegon smiled and kissed you several times while whispering words of thanks. You smiled and stroked his cheek gently, "This is my duty, husband. If you don’t mind I want to sleep now” he chuckled softly and kissed your forehead once more before walking out with his daughter in his arms to let you get some rest.

“I wish Cregan’s choice of guests had less cocks.”
You leaned back in your seat, swirling the mulled wine in your goblet after the fifth time being stepped on your feet during a dance.
Alysanne nearly spat her cider all over the table as she laughed and she quickly covered her mouth, pushing her goblet away.
“You are incorrigible.”
“I am right!” You insisted, giving your friend a look.
It was Cregan’s name day, he was twenty and four now and you had taken the annual journey to Winterfell upon yourself to celebrate with him. As usual, his choice of guests consisted of men and a only handful of ladies, two of which were you and Alysanne. You were in the miserable position of being a lady who was not spoken for, so every lad in attendance was hoping to strike up conversation with the lady who came from another land.
“They are not that bad.”
You rolled your eyes at Alysanne.
“You only say that because no one even dares to offer their hand to you because they know you’re Cregan’s.”
Alysanne smirked but didn’t deny the fact. You were happy that Cregan and Alysanne had finally gotten around to confess their feelings for another, you weren’t sure how much longer you had in you to hear one friend talk about the other, even though the mutual affection was so clear to everyone else, but it left you at odds in certain situations.
Like Cregan’s name day celebrations.
This was the fifth one you attended after befriending Alysanne when her father came to your land to talk trades with your mother. This was the first one where Alysanne was (unofficially) spoken for.
Only the year previous, Alysanne had entertained multiple men for dances, hoping to provoke Cregan into a confession. But now, she leaned back comfortably without the risks of being asked for a dance by anyone but the host.
“You look miserable.”
Cregan had joined you, placing his empty cup on the table to wrap a hand around Alysanne’s shoulder, his eyes amused as he looked at you.
“I am miserable,” you lamented. “I think I need to soak my feet for the next three nights to recover from the absolute horrors that befell me on the dance floor.”
Alysanne snickered, laying her hand on Cregan’s.
“She’s used to better dance partners.”
“Of course,” Cregan said, a grin growing on his face. “The diplomatic kind. How could I forget. Remind me of his name again, Leoric of Caryndor?”
“Myles is of Caryndor, Leoric is the Count of Edrion,” you corrected him, biting back a laugh.
“Oh forgive me,” Cregan snorted. “I wouldn’t want to insult any of your highborn consorts.”
“Don’t be crude,” you huffed, despite the grin on your face.
It was a known fact that you had no shame in going after what you desired. It was a mere coincidence that your mother’s most frequent guests were of highborns who had impeccable dance lessons.
“Aegon the Conqueror pales in comparison to you,” Alysanne laughed. “Unfortunately Queen Rhaenyra is wed, or I would fear for the Seven Realms if there was possibility of you nearing the Iron Throne.”
“Aye, do not forget her son, Prince Jacaerys Velaryon,” Cregan replied, turning to you. ”You are close in age.”
“A very comely Prince,” Alysanne added and a smile tugged on your lips.
“I have yet to meet the ruler of Westeros, he is the Prince, you said? I do hope he is not a bore.”
Cregan huffed out a laugh.
“It might be some time before you lay your eyes upon him. His house rarely comes to the North. It is a little cold up here for a dragon.”
“Dragon?” you asked curiously, a brow arched. “I do hope to make his acquaintance soon.”
“Gods help him if ever ever does.”

You choke back a sob as you and Jace clutch at one another, terrified of letting go. Terrified of this being the last time you see each other.
"Please, Jace, we could fly to Winterfell together. Just...just to have a bit more time—"
He shakes his head then, holding your face between his hands, glancing from Cregan back to you. "Your place is at Lord Cregan's side now. I would not have you waiting all alone there while I fly back to Dragonstone and he journeys home."
His chin wobbles and you reach up, brushing a tear from his cheek which you then place a soft kiss upon.
"P-promise me that you'll be safe. That, if you must stop to rest, it is only at the homes of our confirmed allies. You will take no risks. Promise me."
"I swear it."
You pull yourself to him again. "I love you, Jace. I shall miss you so much."
You speak over the lump in your throat. "We've never been apart before."
He cups the back of your head, letting out a small sob. "I know. But we are children no longer. You are a now a wife, and Lady of Winterfell. And I a man grown. We have duties. And we must not shirk them."
You squeeze your eyes shut, numerous tears sliding free. "I love you."
"I love you, sister. So dearly."
"P-promise me you'll write. As soon as you return. Even if it is only simple: I am safe."
"I will."
"Tell mother I love her. And Joffrey. Give...give Aegon and Viserys both kisses from me."
"I won't forget."
You pull back, staring up at him, tucking curls behind his ears. "Treasure Baela. You will need each other now. And Rhaena—do not let her think she is alone. Assure her that she has both of you to lean on."
He nods, swallowing.
Cregan steps forward then, pulling your brother into a tight embrace, tears even stinging his own eyes, though he does not cry. "Goodbye, brother."
"Goodbye, Cregan. You will look after her," he does not ask, but states it, though he knows it does not need even to be spoken.
Cregan nods, wrapping an arm around you. "That is one thing you need not concern yourself with. Once we are home, she will be safe and sound. You have my word."
Jace nods, stepping back, toward Vermax.
His dragon then leans down, gently bumping his snout against your stomach and you let out a small laugh, more hot tears gathering in your eyes.
"Look after him," you whisper and he lets out a deep rumble, as if in promise.
You watch silently as Jace mounts his dragon, and you blow him one final kiss, which he smiles at, and you and Cregan watch as the two of them soar into the sky, only turning away once they have disappeared above the clouds.
Tumblr media
Cregan spends half the return journey in the carriage with you, worried about leaving you alone for too long.
His men understand. They give you their condolences in solemn looks and respectful nods, while you do your utmost to hold back your tears—often failing in your endeavors.
Once your rage quieted, however, it instead turned to numbness. You slept much on the way back, and barely ate—only doing so, when finally you did, at Cregan's encouragement.
You tell yourself to be strong, and that, while it may feel it, it is not the end of the world.
But then your mind often begins to spiral. Always starting in the same place: Luke frightened as Vhagar's maw unhinges, charging toward him. You then wonder what the last thought to go through his mind was. Mayhaps wishing for his mother.
You always begin to cry hysterically then.
And then your thoughts only grow darker.
Mayhaps it is the end. Because this will most certainly instigate war.
What will be left once the dragons dance? Anything?
Or, will Westeros become naught more than a smoking wasteland—a pile of ash? If so: what is the point? Of anything?
Of eating, breathing, thinking, feeling.
Living.
You hate the Greens. Every one. Save, mayhaps, Helaena. The one of them who was always most kind, if not a bit distant. Always interested in her insects and such, which you found endearing.
A pity she was born into such a horrid family.
How could you have ever trusted Aemond? Desired him? Loved him?
This is what he is. Has always been. You were just reluctant to see it, because you always wished to believe that you were wanted. Cared for.
He had not been this as a child. Not until Luke took his eye.
Was...was that why, then?
Did he truly believe it to be proper recompense? He had been maimed and in turn, took your brother's life. A monster, that is what he is. You see him clearly now. You are only regretful that you did not sooner.
So you focus on that hate, keeping that fire stoked within your belly, fanning the flames so you may feel something. Anything.
Tumblr media
"Open your eyes, my love, we are home."
You slowly blink open heavy lids, to find Cregan leaning over you while standing outside the carriage.
You only nod.
You want to go to bed. Want to sleep. Even if it does not always soothe you.
Even your dreams betray you.
You will not tell Cregan of the vision that had come to you in one but a few days past... Of your uncle rutting away from behind you—your hands and feet bound, making you immobile and wholly at his mercy, or, rather, lack thereof—as you cried and screamed and begged for Cregan to save you.
Aemond had merely laughed and told you he had killed them all: everyone in the world until only the two of you were left.
And then you felt a familiar blade sheathing itself in your back once more.
You had jolted awake then and retched, your skin crawling.
Finally, you nod, taking Cregan's hand as he helps you down.
You do not meet their eyes—those you are meant to now call your people. What a mistake your Lord Husband had made in not marrying a woman with a stronger countenance.
Weak. You are weak.
You hear a familiar voice. "I have already drawn you a hot bath, Princess. It awaits you in your chambers."
You nod. "Thank you, Alia."
She knows it is rather bold of her, but you had made her your friend—your maid-of-honor—so she wraps her arms lightly around you and holds you for a moment as you rest your cheek on her shoulder.
"I am so sorry," she whispers into your ear.
You bite your lower lip to contain yourself. "Thank you."
She pulls back then, glancing down and smiling as another comes to greet you, a small chubby hand coming to tug at your skirts.
And then you smile.
And Cregan breathes, feeling as if he has been holding such a breath for a fortnight, waiting to see the wonderful sight again of you experiencing even a moment of joy.
You lean down, picking up Rickon, and holding him in your arms, pressing a kiss to his dark head of hair as you head inside, crying once more.
But from happiness.
Tumblr media
Rickon is whisked away for supper and Alia remains with you as you bathe, per your request.
You tend to yourself, while she simply sits beside the tub, talking with you.
"I still cannot believe it. And you think it revenge for him taking his eye?"
You unfold and refold the washcloth within your hands, watching as steam wafts into the air from the hot water, a warm fire crackling across the room.
"It is all the explanation I have. Before our last night in King's Landing, last I had seen him he was but a boy. But since growing into a man...something dark changed inside of him. I imagine it his mother's doing. While my grandsire lay upon his sickbed, she essentially ran both court and kingdom in conjunction with her father. I am sure she sowed those seeds of discontent further toward our side of the family during our absence from the capitol."
She shakes her head. "For him to murder a prince and so early... I fear what he may yet further do. Him possessing the largest dragon in the world is a dangerous thing indeed."
She glances to you. "You do not think it was somehow...plotted? By the Greens."
"The missive my mother sent—the wording, that is—made it seem almost a coincidence that they were each there at the same time. But, I suppose I do not truly know. Mayhaps it is something that was...discussed. That, if able, the Greens' dragonriders are to slay or capture any member of my family that they can. There will be no one left to contest Aegon's reign then."
You frown slightly. "But even I doubt that. Especially with my mother having stayed her hand, at least up to that point. Why do something which would instigate war if there is even a modicum of a chance of it being avoided? And Alicent never did seem prone to pointless violence in years past. She continued Viserys' peacetime reign, after all."
"But as soon as he was dead, she deigned her son should be king and usurped the rightful heir," Alia replies.
You lean back, looking at her. "I think, mayhaps, I simply never knew any of them at all. It is difficult to believe she and my mother were once childhood companions. Perchance she has been a scheming, treacherous wh—" you hold your tongue, sighing.
"It was but a handful of months after the passing of my grandmother before the king took her to wife. I think the Hightowers have thirsted for further positions of power all along. Unlike us, family means nothing to them. Merely a means to their own personal ends."
You settle your arms on either side of you. "Daemon did once refer to Otto as a leech. Perhaps his daughter has been dutiful in lessons he was willing to teach her indeed."
Alia stands, turning down your bed. "I have prayed since this all began for your mother to win back her throne."
She turns back to you. "But I think we best prepare ourselves for it to be with...much bloodshed."
She nervously rubs at her arm.
"Do you have any family, Alia? Those who would wish to come here? For safety?" You say, resting your arms atop the edge of the tub, your chin atop them.
She shrugs lightly. "I have an uncle in the Westerlands, but he is all that remains. All I have left. We write to each other often."
You stand, stepping out of the water, and she wraps a towel around you.
You hold it in-place as you speak to her. "Write to him again, then, if you wish. Let him know that...that he has a place here with you, if he so desires it. He will be safe and given accommodations and employment. You have my word."
She smiles and it wobbles as her eyes fill with tears. "Thank you," she whispers.
You step forward, hugging her. "Would that I could protect the entirely of the Seven Kingdoms."
Tumblr media
When Cregan finally enters your room, it is to find you and Rickon in bed together—your left arm wrapped round him as he dozes off against your breast, you quietly reading him a bedtime story.
You merely glance to him as he shuts the door softly, you then turning the page.
He removes Ice from its scabbard, mounting it once more over the hearth before removing his cloak, hanging it on a hook near the door and toeing off his boots, placing them before the fire to dry.
He comes to stand at the edge of the bed then, arms crossed. "He needs be in his own bed in his own chambers."
You turn another page, placing a kiss atop his head. "I would have him here with me. It pleases me to have him close."
You look up to Cregan, eyes filling with tears. "Please do not part him from me. Not...not now. I...I love him."
His gaze softens, a warm smile crossing his lips as he uncrosses his arms, beginning to undress, a fresh bath waiting for him now as well—thanks to Alia and all her hard work.
"Just for tonight, then," he states quietly.
You hold Rickon closer, his eyes now closed as he dreams. "Mayhaps," you reply simply.
Cregan knows telling you 'no' will become a difficult endeavor indeed as time grows.
Tumblr media
When Cregan wakes the next morn, he feels...at-peace as he looks at the two of you. You, turned on your side, Rickon's back flush against your chest and his small hand resting atop Cregan's arm.
He wishes to savor this moment—for it to be eternal—but he knows to dream of such things is folly.
He presses soft kisses to the tops of each of your heads before rising, then dressing silently. He exits the room, leaving the two of you to rest for as long as you both should like.
You needing it most of all.
Tumblr media
A fortnight later, you are in better spirits at last. You still have days—moments—where you are distant and grieving, but you are healing.
You go often to the Godswood to not only pray, but for comfort. It becomes habit for it to be one of the first places Cregan looks for you when he seeks you out.
He smiles as he watches you watching Rickon, the small boy performing a poor attempt at making snowballs, which, when he tries to throw them, flop from his hands and back onto the snowy ground.
You giggle at the sight.
And then he says it.
"Mama."
Your eyes go wide.
"Mama."
You cover your mouth, choking back a sob.
The little one toddles closer.
"Mama," he says, grabbing at your skirts and with tears streaming down your cheeks, you pick him up, settling him into your lap with a kiss to his cheek.
"My boy," you whisper, cradling the side of his head in your hand, while your lips press to the other.
And then Cregan settles himself beside you and you still.
You turn your head slowly to look at him. "Are...are you angry with me?"
He brings his lips to yours, kissing you softly, gently. "How could I ever be?"
He nods toward Rickon. "We will tell him about her one day—"
"I already have. A bit. I don't know that he understood any of it, but I...I wanted him to know her name. To know that she loved him." You look at Cregan, tears brimming in your eyes. "I am so grateful to her."
He kisses your forehead. "And she would be to you. For caring for her boy."
He takes Rickon from you, pressing a kiss to his hair before settling him on his feet again. "Our boy."
Cregan then slides his hand along your stomach, settling it there, warm and firm. "You have pleased me greatly."
Your head jerks back toward him, hands grasping his own. "You kept track," you whisper, in disbelief.
He nods. "It seems Rickon shall soon enough have company."
You smile. "I would...name him Luke—Lucerys, that is. Unless you—"
"I would have it no other way," he states, crushing his lips to your own.
He pulls back then, removing a scroll from an inner pocket of his cloak. "There is word from Dragonstone—from Jace. He is well."
You gently take the parchment from him, unrolling it and reading over the words supplied with a smile:
I have arrived safely and we are both in one piece—Vermax and I. He is feasting as I write.
We will, quite soon, hold a service for Luke, to lay him properly to rest.
Wish that you were here, but it pleases me to know where you are instead.
Mother wishes for me to tell you that she loves you, and is very proud of and delighted for you, even if she misses you dearly—that she is glad her blessing came to be of use. Joff asks when he shall receive a wolf pup to keep as a pet, and I gave Viserys and Aegon, per your request, kisses each.
Give Lord Cregan all my best.
Your loving twin, Jace.
You nod, holding it close to your heart then, knowing you will store it in the chest of keepsakes at the end of your bed once you are back in your chambers for the evening.
Gods, how you miss them.
But, as you feel Cregan's arm wrap around you, pulling you into the warmth of his side, and you watch Rickon, you do not feel as if you have lost them, due to their distance. Rather, your family has only grown.
And you are much glad for it, given those you have now lost.

A Dragon's Wrath
Request: hello hello, how are u? Idk if u write for Harwin Strong, but I'm obsessed with this man, so if you're not taking requests for him, forgive me for being rude. So I wanted to make a request where the reader is the younger sister of Rhaenyra Targaryen, also daughter of Aemma and Viserys. She married Strong, and lives a dream life with him (they love each other very much, so please, Rhaenyra's children are not his 🫠) and the legitimacy of their children was questioned, of course the queen would never imagine that Harwin had a birthmark, which none of his brothers inherited from Lyonel, he being the only one to have it and ALL THE CHILDREN OF HARWIN AND THE PRINCESS HAVE THAT SAME BRAND, JUST LIKE THE FATHER'S. Maybe I went on too long and was stupid, sorry, you can do whatever comes to your brilliant mind, I just really wish the legitimacy of the children of the OC was proved by legal means and gave no right to be questioned even by the queen. Thank you for your attention, I understand if you don't want to do it 🤍.
pairing: harwin strong x targ!fem!reader
word count: 3k
warnings: mentions of childbirth, alicent being snakey
a/n: first harwin fic, harwin girlies lmk what you think!! for the sake of this fic, Rhae's children have Targaryen silver hair
Tumblr media
In all the years the pair were married, King Viserys and Queen Aemma were blessed by the Mother with only two healthy, living babes. First born has been your elder sister Rhaenyra, whom you followed two years later.
Growing up the two of you remained close through your lessons and dragon riding, but as Rhaenyra grew older she would end up spending more and more time with her lady in waiting Alicent Hightower. Rhaenyra and Alicent being two of the only other girls your age in the Red Keep and their refusal to have anyone join them in their activities, you felt somewhat dejected by your sister's budding friendship.
This is what led you to find solace in the Red Keep's training yards. Day after day you watched knights, and knights in training, battle it out in the yard while you worked on your studies. It was there in the yard you saw him for the first time- your future husband, Ser Harwin Strong.
At the time you had no idea you would end up marrying him, of course, but you should have.
You'd heard all about Ser Harwin Breakbones, son of Lyonel Strong, one of your father's most loyal council men. Harwin's reputation truly preceded him and was rightfully earned.
You hadn't noticed it at the time, but you'd abonded your books and parchments in the stands by your supervising Septa as you approached the rail separating the stands and the training yard in an attempt for a clearer view.
Harwin stood taller than his opponents, shoulders back, sword in hand ready to defend himself. He watched his opponents carefully, calculating their next move. His short brown curls were halfway pulled back out of his face with a tie, exposing Harwin's jawline, much to your own enjoyment.
That afternoon you watched Harwin take down man after man without so much as a proper blow to his own body. He wielded his sword as if it were an extension of his arm in fluid, rushing movements.
When he had finally finished for the evening you applauded him, finally grabbing his attention as he had held yours.
"You are quite the swordsman, Ser Harwin!" you call out to him. "I feel much better knowing there are knights as skilled as you protecting my home."
Harwin grinned largely at your praise, twirling his sword in his hand for show as he approached the rail you supported yourself on. "I mean only to ensure you are safe at all times, my princess."
You smiled down at him now that he was almost right below you. "Well I have no doubts of your capabilities, Ser. I have a feeling you will do great things here, should you wish."
"You are too kind, princess," he chuckles. Then he looks up at the sky, towards the sun on it's way to set. "It is getting quite late, princess. Shall I escort you back to your chambers?"
The excitement and hopefulness in his face brought butterflies to your stomach.
"I would like nothing more, Ser."
After that night it was scarce the two of you weren't side by side, which all but pushed your fathers to wed the two of you.
Now you stood in those same stands, watching Harwin in the yard yet again, but now he's joined by your two eldest sons. Maevor has just passed his tenth and second name day, and Daeragon his ninth. Your two youngest babes, however remained with you and your maid and close friend, Malina.
Malina had first been assigned to you after your marriage to Harwin, and she'd stood loyally by your side as you birthed all of your children.
Malina's elder brother Ellion, a knight of the City Watch, stood closeby on the order of Harwin. He'd been one of Harwin's best men as you'd heard him compliment the younger knight on many occasions in the past. Being a Targaryen princess and wife of the Lord Commander in such uncertain times in the house of the dragon could be dangerous, and Harwin meant only to protect you and your babes.
Your first daughter, eldest of your month old twins, Naelora cooed softly in your arms as she played with the loose sleeve ends of your dress. You indulged her for a moment, raising your arm to lift the sleeve from her reach to tease her.
She gurgles in laughter, stretching her chubby little arms to grasp your sleeve once more.
The moment is over by the approach of Queen Alicent's lady in waiting, Talya.
"My apologies, Princess," Talya bows to you first. "But the Queen has requested Malina's presence for this afternoon."
Why would the queen need Malina specifically? Surely she could find another maid within the Keep to aid her?
Malina looks to you, pale brown eyes silently asking to stay. This isn't the first time something like this has happened, of course. After giving birth to your second son Daeragon, Queen Alicent began requesting Malina's presence more often.
Still sore from your labors, Harwin had taken the day off to aid you and watch over Maevor to allow you to rest.
You watched happily from your spot on the bed as Harwin held little Daeragon, to introduce him to his elder brother. Maevor, a boy of three years, stood as high as he could on his toes to get a peek over Harwin's bulk of an arm to get a glimpse of his brother.
Then your chamber doors open and Malina returns to your side after serving the queen all day. She approaches the foot of your bed, hands clasped together in front of her with her eyes cast slightly downwards.
"Malina, you needn't worry about me," you begin to dismiss her kindly. "I'm sure the Queen-"
But Malina shakes her head, brown curls following her, still refusing to meet your gaze. "I need to speak with you, Princess. And you, Lord Harwin, in privacy."
You share a concerned look with Harwin, who's joyfulness has been replaced with worry. In the time she's served you Malina had never been afraid to look you in your eyes.
He wastes no time escorting Maevor to his chambers just off your own, and placing little Daeragon in his crib next to your side of the bed. Harwin returns and stands dutifully on the other side of you as if protecting you.
"What is it?" you ask, and pat the bed in front of you for Malina to sit.
Malina makes no move to sit on your bed. "My princess," her voice wavers nervously. "I have served your for near half a decade now, and I know you to be the most true and kind person I have ever had the pleasure of serving-"
"Malina," Harwin interrupts sternly. "Speak it plain, what have you heard of my wife?"
Your heart thudded hard in your chest as you instinctively reached for Harwin's hand. He intertwined his fingers with your in an attempt to comfort you.
Malina takes in a deep breath before finally looking up to meet your gaze. "Queen Alicent requested my presence after your labors today for questioning."
"Questioning?" you tilted your head slightly. "About what?"
"Your sons," she answered swiftly. "She... She wanted to know if this babe looked like Harwin or..."
Harwin pulled his hand from yours, placing it on the hilt of his sword. "Or who, Malina?"
"Ellion," Malina whispers. "The Queen seems to believe that you spend too much time with Ellion, princess. She asked if I knew of any relations between the two of you, but I swore to her you are deathly loyal and would never-"
You move from your spot on the bed to bring yourself to stand. Harwin aids you as you steady yourself, then reach for Malina's forearm.
"You needn't explain yourself to me, Malina," you assure her. "I know you to be true to me, and you are one of the kindest ladies I know. You should go, retire for the night. We shall do the same."
Malina apologizes the whole way out your chamber doors despite your assurances. Harwin begins to strip his armor as you settle yourself back into bed.
Daeragon's crib sat just off the side of your bed, close enough for you to have a view of the newborn's little face.
Harwin soon joins your side clad in his nightclothes. You can feel his gaze on you, but you refuse to meet his gaze. Emotions ran rampant through you. You knew it must be the strain and high emotions of you and your new babe surviving the day, but you couldn't stop the rush.
It's when the tears begin to fall from your lilac eyes that Harwin wraps you up in his arms and pulls you back against him.
"My love," he cooes. "Sweet girl, do not worry yourself with the opinion of a misguided, jealous woman."
He raises his right hand to show off the inside of his right wrist, showing off the small, discolored patch of skin he inherited from his father, Lord Lyonel. A small, almost missable, seemingly insignificant patch of skin both Maevor and Daeragon had inherited.
Harwin leans in close, placing his lips against the shell of your ear. "We know I have fathered your sons, my love. Do not worry yourself with this, it is not worth it."
"You're right, husband," you hum, settling into your husband's arms for the night. "I'm just glad he's here, and healthy."
He kisses your temple softly. "You did that. You made him the healthy babe he is."
As you promised Harwin that night, you did your best to ignore the rumors pursued by Alicent. In the years following Daeragon's birth you'd heard more whispers within the court questioning your son's parentage, though you said nothing.
You tried your best to pay them no mind, other days they really got to you. But for now you simply obliged to the queen's wishes.
"Ser Ellion," you motioned your friend forward with one hand. He looked much like his sister as they shared the same nose, and brown curly hair, though Ellion's eyes were an elegant green. Still, no man in the Seven Kingdoms could come close to Harwin in your eyes.
"Would you mind taking my sweet Raemor from your sister? I'm afraid I cannot tend to both babes at once."
Ellion nods and leans down slightly to make a peaceful transition from his sister's arms. He wore an awkward grin on his face as he cradles the blanket wrapped babe the best he could in a full suit of armor. "It is an honor, Princess. Though I'm not certain he will be comfortable against such steel."
Malina bows and takes Talya's arm in her own. You know Malina's dislike for the woman, and you can only guess she's done this to ensure Talya is led away from you and your family.
You shake your head in response to Ellion yet keep your attention on your daughter in your arms. "It is no issue, Harwin holds them in his armor every day. He has with each of them."
A moment passes in silence and you look up to your husband and eldest children. Maevor's brown curls are just long enough on the top to be tied back while leaving some down thus his hair is relatively tame. Daeragon's, however, is tousled and absolutely untame.
Both boys are breathing heavier now, their cheeks flushed. But the beautiful, pure look of excitement on their faces melted your heart. They knew their father was Lord Commander of the City Watch, and that Harwin worked hard for his family at his very important job, and they treasured their father for it.
After taking them to see Harwin train with some of the new recruits of the City Watch two fortnights ago had been a mistake on your part for the boys had not shut up about training themselves. At first you had been hesitant, of course other Targaryen princes had been taught to fight years before your boys, but you were afraid of the things they might encounter so instead you encouraged them to spend time in the libraries and their respective dragons.
As a result the boys were extremely well read and years ahead of their pupils in their studies. Maevor is practically fluent in Valyrian now, and Daeg is not far behind.
Their insistent pleading had wore on you though, and you gave in to them with Harwin's reassurance he would personally oversee their training. In the end, Maevor and Daeg's immediate joy at being granted permission made it worth it in the end.
Harwin and the boys were cleaning their training gear and putting it away.
Ellion clears his throat, pulling your attention from your family. "I fear something is happening, Princess."
"What do you mean?" you ask, standing from your seat and brushing your skirts with one hand.
"I have been approached twice now," he explains carefully, watching who was sat in the immediate area. The closest people sat on the complete opposite of the training yard in those stands. "Once by a fellow knight, and then by Talya herself. I only mention this as a warning, Princess."
Harwin and the boys are nearly there and you don't want the boys to hear such slander.
"Thank you, Ellion," you force a smile to give him. "And I apologize for what has been whispered around court these last years, but I plan now to make it right."
Harwin approaches you then, slinking one arm around your waist as he presses a kiss to your temple. "Come, my love, the boys need to bathe and our littlest ones must be ready for their nap."
Maevor perks up, "Mother, may I carry Naelora back to your chambers?"
Your hearts melts at the question, Maevor ever the doting older brother. You grant your son permission, gently reminding him to hold her head carefully.
"And I shall take Raemor from you, Ellion. I thank you for your services for today."
He bows respectfully, "Tis my duty, and an honor."

Once the twins are down for their naps and the older boys off to the bathhouse with Malina you informed Harwin of everything that had transpired this afternoon while he trained with the boys.
His thick brows furrowed almost immediately, angre written upon his face. Harwin had shed his armor by now, settling for more comfortable leathers for the evening. His sword however, stayed attached to his hip with one hand gripping the hilt.
"I am sick of hearing your name and reputation tarnished by fools!" Harwin seethes, angrier than you've ever seen him. "I have half a mind to slay them all down for even thinking such things of our children, of you."
You shake your head softly, approaching him to cup his face. You press your forehead against his own, something you've always done to comfort him.
"I have a plan, my dutiful husband," you assure him. "I happen to have a wonderful relationship with my father by law, if you must know. And I just so happen to know that a Small Council meeting starts in mere minutes."
Harwin eases a little, but now he's wrought with confusion.
"What have you planned, my love?"
You smile mischievously and press a sweet kiss to your husband's lips. "Just you wait husband, I first require our Maevor."
The boys are back from their baths by now as you can hear them bustling about Daeragon's chambers, which is the adjoining room to your own.
You knock before you enter as you always do, to the sight of your boys on Daeg's bed, books sprawled open before them.
"What have we there, byka zaldrīzoti (little dragons)?" you ask as you join them on the bed.
Daeg pulls the leather bound book to cover his lap to show you. "The Histories of Old Valyria!" he chimes. "Maevor was reading it to me in Valyrian."
You stroke Daeg's plush cheek with one hand, still able to see the babe he used to be in his face, and take Maevor's hand in your other.
"He's smart, your brother," you 'whisper' to Daeragon. "I would study hard, my Prince."
Maevor breaks his hand away to rustle his brother's brown curls. "Muña's teasing, Daeg. You are smarter now than I was your age."
You swoon, heart melting at the relationship between your boys. "Oh my sweet Maev," you kiss his temple. "Might I borrow you for a awhile, I have something important to discuss with the Small Council and I need your help."
Maevor's brown eyes widened slightly, "Of course, mother."
"Have no fear, sweet boy, I have a plan."
And you sure did. Once you explained what you could to Maevor while sparing his innocence best you could, he'd been more than willing to join you.
You squatted down to be closer to your son's level, Harwin by your side. "You are special, Maevor," you explain to him. You grab Harwin's right hand and Maevor's to put them side by side. Both birthmarks were near identical save for Harwin's being larger and slightly darker than his son's. "Each of my babes have this mark, all from Harwin, who inherited it from your grandsire, Lyonel. Do you understand?"
He nods, but says nothing. Harwin crouches down next to you, reaching to cup his eldest son's face.
"I wish we did not have to burden you with such a task, my boy," Harwin admits grimly. "I want you to know we are only doing this because we love you children, and I love your muña too much to let people speak of her in such a way any longer."
So the three of you set off, accompanied by Ellion as Malina had stayed behind to watch the twins and Daeragon.
Despite the Kingsguard outside the meeting room of the Small Council, you march right past them and push the doors open yourself.
Each member of the council turns to you now silenced. Otto sat up straighter in his seat as he looked towards his daughter. Alicent looked shocked to see the group of you, and you noted her visible nervousness.
Lyonel stands and comes to Harwin's side, demanding answers most likely. Harwin begins whispering in his father's ear, explaining the situation.
"Sister," Rhaenyra stands, hand placed over her round stomach. "What is wrong?"
You cross your arms over your chest, eyes blazing as you glare at the Hightowers at the table. "Since the birth of my Daeragon I have endured vile slanders against not only myself, but my marriage, and every one of my children."
Alicent shifts uncomfortably in her seat.
"Princess," Otto pokes in. "I can assure you-"
"Assure what?" you snap, slamming down on the table to lean towards the Hand. "Alicent has been the one to pull my ladies from me just after giving birth to insinuate my babes have been fathered by knight of the City Watch who is not my husband. Even now, a month after having my twins, I am approached with more blasphemy. No more."
You usher Maevor forward, who happily extends his right arm before you have to ask. Harwin joins you, followed by Lyonel, both of whom put out their wrists as well.
Alicent's mouth widens in shock before she grits her teeth. Even Larys' wears a look of shock as he checks his own wrists, coming up with nothing.
"I am tired of my children being put under scrutiny," you say finally. "And of my loyalty to my husband being questioned. Now, if you all do not mind, I would like to enjoy the rest of the day with my family undisturbed."
You step back from the table to leave when Rhaenyra wraps you up in a hug. "I am so sorry, sister," she whispers.
You assure her with a simple kiss to the side of her head before reaching for Maevor's hand.
The boy is practically bouncing on his feet as the two of you make your way back to your chambers, both Harwin and Ellion following close behind.
"She is very scary, your wife," Ellion admits to Harwin lowly. "I would to want to be on the receiving end of her wrath."
He only chuckles, "No, nor would I."

I love your writing!! Could you do a short 1 or 2 part fiction based on this prompt: a highborn girl is to become Aemond's wife but she is a mute. Her other senses are well even though she isn't able to speak. She is youngest in her family and is extremely shy. No fiery bone in her body. Alicent coaxes her son into being betrothed to her due to Alicent having issues with high-born ladies not wanting to marry the prince due to his eye missing and his tendency to have a temper. They bond over reading and Aemond is enthralled with her beauty. Also Aemond never is a kinslayer in this story lol. Thank you!

Summary: You are introduced with the prince as his second option for a marriage in your family. But how will the Prince react to you own affliction | Mini-Series Masterlist
Links to my Taglists: General Taglist | Aemond Targaryen Taglist
A/N: I changed the request up a little and it's strange that I got this ask because I do actually have a stutter myself that was debilitating growing up, so I tried to shoehorn some feelings that I felt myself into this character, but hopefully I still did it justice (and I made it more about her intelligence cos I think Aemond would find that hot)?
Thank you for the request anon! Also thank you all for your love and comments I really love them! I can’t comment on them since this is a side-blog, but I appreciate you all!
Warnings: none, just fluff, Aegon being Aegon
Tumblr media
"Do you think that any highborn woman with a brain between her eyes would desire to spend the rest of her life with a tempestuous prince?"
Alicent was circling the room, hands smoothing over one another to keep herself calm, doing this in exchange of picking at her fingernails, which her father hated. And with Otto sat brooding in the corner of the room, Alicent chose her actions wisely.
Aemond barely resisted the urge to roll his eye, one hand rested on one side of his face, disinterested. Another reprimand for his temper, his behaviour. He didn't realise his mother had it in her to keep on doing this for so long, especially after having a son like Aegon. But even then, her solution had been to marry him to his sister, and it was clear how well that ended. And how Aegon's actions persisted.
"Perhaps if they were not so empty-headed they would know to leave me be"
"Like it or not, you will be wed" Otto butted in, resulting in Aemond sending an annoyed glare, "It has been difficult enough to introduce ladies to you"
"Because they think me a monster" Aemond retorted, one hand gripping the arm of the chair beside him. His mother was still pacing around, a million thoughts banging around in her brain, working endlessly on how to resolve this. In truth, he did not enjoy seeing his mother in such distress and his heart to see her in this way more often than not.
"That is not true, Aemond" Alicent's voice was soft, as if he were still a child.
"True enough that it whispers through the court"
"A marriage and children with her would mean security in the Reach" Otto said simply. His mind forever focussed on matters political and never of the heart. Alicent was proof of this and at this quip, Aemond could see the discomfort it bought her.
"I do not wish to marry that loud-mouthed half-wit"
Every time Aemond protested, he could see his mother begin pacing around the room once more.
"At this rate, half the ladies in Westeros will have met that beast before you"
Aemond extended a hand out with a sigh, "It is no fault of mine that she is scared of Vhagar"
"It nearly landed on top of her, Aemond!" Alicent begged out and Aemond genuinely had to hold back a smile as he imagined Vhagar pinning the girls dress to the ground with her large claw. It had scared the girl stiff and her loud-mouthed was quickly stiffened from the presence of the largest dragon in the world before her. Her face pale as a sheet.
"Vhagar did not like her" he simply responded.
A moment passed in silence and Aemond nearly stood to leave when Alicent crossed her arms, her warm, brown eyes trained at her second son. Half in pride and half in scolding.
"There is of course, another choice" Alicent suggested quietly, taking a side glance at her father.
Now stood before his mother, seeing over her easily, he placed his arms behind his back, a brow was arched in not only question but anxiety at her suggestion.
"She has a younger sister, only half a year younger than you"
Aemond scoffed, "This is desperation"
"It is a suggestion" Alicent corrected. In front of her son, she seemed so small as she took his large hand in both of hers, her rings clicking together to rub her fingers over his skin, "See how you feel"
With a sigh, he took his leave.
There was no harm in trying.
The days seemed to pass the slowest and the Prince busied himself as he usually did, performing his duties. He trained with Ser Criston, he read books on various subjects and he rode on Vhagar in an attempt to tame this temper his mother so wanted gone. One that she thought would be solved by marriage.
But one insufferable thing he could never escape from, was court gossip.
It seemed so rampant and neverending that he wondered if the ladies ever did anything else.
On more than one occasion he heard the ladies talk in hushed whispers when he walked by.
"I heard his dragon almost ate her"
"I do not see what woman would want a man who looks like that"
"I think he looks rather handsome with it"
"Yes, but he has a quarrelsome temper. Blood of the dragon indeed"
"I heard her little sister is to join the court. His dragon may actually swallow her whole with any luck"
"She is a hollow little fool. I heard she has not spoken a word since she was a babe"
He knew better than to listen to any of it. But it seemed to impregnate the walls of the Keep, like a smell that won't go away. Slowly seeping out of the stone to skulk in heavy plunders of smoke across their feet. It smelled of deception and the feeling was so heavy, it was almost liquid.
Like oily blood.
He had barely paid attention to his mother as they all lined up outside the Keep, anticipating the sister's arrival. The older sister had been closest to the dirt road, wanting to see her siblings and father before anyone else. The Royals were all standing shoulder to shoulder at the top of the stone steps, Aemond's eye trained forwards, not focussed on anything in particular. Aegon wishing he were somewhere else, preferably at the end of a barrel of Dornish wine. And Helaena, whose gaze never found anyone's, staring at the ground, watching the ants disappear beneath her slipper.
Alicent almost jumped out of her skin as the lady screamed in delight seeing the familiar colours of her house on the side of the carriage, pulling up to a stop. Aemond's chest inflated and he tightened his grip behind his back, bracing for the undoubtedly emotionally painful exchange he was about to have.
The carriage door flung open and two brothers emerged, clearly a lot older than the sister had been, but nonetheless they scooped her up into a hug. Aemond raised an eyebrow and dared look over at his own brother, who was smiling back at him already, as if suggesting they should hug like that. And at this Aemond did roll his eye.
The three siblings were stuck like this for a moment, talking over and amongst each other like a clutter of turkeys and it was impossible to tell what they were actually saying. The father eventually found his footing outside the carriage, a small figure following small behind him, head lowered. The older sister wrapped her arms around her father's neck but she was quickly pushed away, and not a single one of them seemed to address the youngest, who blindly followed her father.
"Queen Alicent" the father addressed, taking her hand in his to kiss at the ring.
"My Lord, how nice it is to see you and your…family again" she swallowed her words and her roundabout manner made Aegon smile somewhat.
"And you, your Grace. I hope my daughter has been a grateful guest"
There was a faint echo in the background of her horrific laugh, the father closed his eyes slowly, bracing himself for the sound of it.
Alicent merely smiled, "I understand we are to receive your other daughter"
The father stepped aside, but the figure still remained relatively hidden, "Yes, although she is the slowest of my daughters, your Grace. She…finds it difficult to speak"
The father looked behind him again and gripped his other daughter's arm and Aemond noted how hard he held her, so much so that when he tore away the marks remained. And he wondered if he was so rough with his other daughter, the one he thought was the grace of his house.
The girl was presented before Alicent. Yes she shared features with her sister, but hers were much were smoothed out. Her sister, while sharp featured and cheeks plump, her eyes were too close together and her nose seemed unfit for her face. This sister however, her cheekbones were higher and eyes were almond-shaped and she had a faint mole next to her eye on one side.
Her eyes briefly met Alicent's and sent a small smile and a curtsy, doing the same to the Princes and Princess, but never really meeting any of their gazes directly.
"Your Grace, my youngest"
Aemond almost scoffed, he didn't even have the decency to address her by her birth name.
"As I say, your Grace, she is quite slow but her mind is nimble, her other senses remain…unaffected"
All the young woman could do was listen to her father's cruel words about her, her hands were clasped in front of her, one finger fiddling with a golden ring that was on a forefinger. Aemond's gaze raked over her form, the dress she wore just being a bit too tight and he wondered if it might have been in her ownership for a while and had grown too big for it. This made her chest swell against the fabric and her could not help but admire the way she fit into it as she inhaled and exhaled, the golden necklace against her chest moving as well.
It was as if she could feel his burning eye on her and her hand raised to her necklace to turn the pendant over, her gaze briefly meeting the one-eyed Prince's before her cheeks became flushed and averted instantly. In a strange turn of events, it made Aemond smirk, knowing that someone would blush in his presence.
"If you'd like to follow me, I can introduce you to the King" Alicent stepped side to side with her father, "Perhaps your children might amuse themselves"
Her father turned to face his children, a haggard expression on his face, "Make yourselves scarce"
The young woman merely watched as her siblings waltzed away without her, no doubt to drown themselves in drink. And she stood for a moment watching them enjoy themselves before feeling a hand grasp her elbow to find Aegon's face close to hers. She made a surprised sound.
"Extraordinary" he murmured, pulling the poor thing to walk with him, "How much I would give to have a woman who did not speak back"
She attempts to push herself away, but he was much stronger.
"I bet that mouth is as disgusting as those whores on the Street of Silk"
A hand clamped at Aegon's shoulder, shoving him away and the woman looked back to find Aemond parting the two with his body, a hand brushing against her arm to place her behind him.
"Brother, I do not think she desires your company"
With a focussed eye zoned in on his brother, Aemond failed to notice that she had himself wrapped his hand around her wrist. A wave of heat rose to her face s she looked down and saw how his large fingers easily took her, feeling the sheer body heat of the Prince next to her, so much so that she was able to smell the various musks that had attached themselves to him. A faint smell of leather from his clothes, whatever he used for his long, illustrious hair and then something akin to being around an animal. Was this what dragon smelled like? She wondered if he had been riding before meeting her family.
His touch was easily softer than Aegon's grip had been, and for this she was grateful. He had been the first man to lay a hand on her that had not been forceful. The brothers continued to bicker.
"She is not deaf, Aegon. She can hear you"
"Deaf or not, she is a simpleton. If you are to marry her, do yourself a favour and find comfort in others, as I do"
All the blood seemed to rush to your ears in embarrassment and you tore your wrist away from the prince, turning swiftly on your heel in the other direction, away from the harsh words you had unfortunately become accustomed to. Your steps were swift as you heard Aegon cackle with laughter, but you did not see Aemond's saddened stare bore into your back.
With a book clutched longingly to your chest and the echoes of your already drunken siblings echoing down the halls, you pushed a hand to the library door, finding comfort in the quiet of this room in the chaos that was the Red Keep.
It had of course, not been your first time here. You had accompanied your sister on her journey many moons ago, and even then you felt the stares of those at the court boring into you like a flame. The hushed whispers of those were not lost on you, perhaps they also thought you were deaf. But it didn’t matter. You heard the horrible things the ladies said about you and equally, the awful things the men said as well. Although some of those had been about other matters.
Contrary to popular belief, you were not entirely mute. A lot of it was purely by choice. And you had become accustomed to the silence, for simply trying to speak, becoming out of breath and tight about the chest, gave you more anxiety than simply saying nothing at all.
You sighed in relief, finding the library completely empty and almost just how you had left it all those months ago, when you had come here for relief after your sister had accustomed herself to the ladies.
The book, which you had been in the middle of reading last time you were here, was still perched on top of the fireplace in the heart of the room, with a piece of paper sticking out in the spot where you had been rudely torn away. Your hand grazed over the cover, feeling all the intricacies of the people who may have read it before you. The spine was slightly worn away, and the fabric that coated the front page was discoloured. But it was the book smell that enticed you so and you opened where you were to bring to the pages to your face.
It smelled like home. Like a solitary childhood.
It reminded you of who you were.
Someone so disenchanted with life that they would lose themselves in books, fiction or not.
You lifted your skirts, inhaling sharply as the corseted part of the gown dug into you for being too small. Your father refused the request for new dresses, so you had to make do. After all, it was your older sister who was supposed to be enamouring the Prince, not you. So what need was there for fine dresses.
The chair hugged you, its fabric arms tucking you in like a bed and you laid the book before you to pick up where you had left off, the only sound in the room being the flickering of some candles and the uncomfortable sound of your finger tracing the next page.
You had been so interested in your book, the large oak doors opened without a reaction from you.
"I know you are not deaf, my Lady"
The voice startled you, and your head popped round the back of the chair to see the Prince standing closely, smirking and arms tucked behind him. A surprised sound left you as you stood, the book that had been placed on your lap hurtling to the floor as well as a small notebook you had been clutching. Your cursed yourself for the clumsiness but offered him a curtsy all the same before bending to retrieve the books.
He seemed to move too quickly for his stature and had his hand flat on the book before you had even reached out. Turning it over he smiled, bringing the book with him stand,
"Ah, so it was you"
You grasped the small notebook in your hand and stood to meet his gaze, eyes slightly wide with fear. As if he had caught you in his grasp.
He let out a small laugh, which seemed uncharacteristic for him, "Do not worry. I merely found it"
He placed the book down on the table and looked back at her. Even though he had one eye, it seemed to rake over her for an eternity before returning to her face.
"Are you afraid, my Lady?" he asked, still smirking.
Realising that she had been gawking, gripping onto her notebook, she shook her head. He seemed satisfied with the answer, only offering a 'Hm' in response as he began pacing the space around her.
"I may have limited vision, but I can see you are not afraid of me"
His back was facing you now, and with his eye not trained on you, you took the opportunity to study him and his form for a moment.
He was tall and his long silver hair trailed over his back, thick and straight. He certainly had that air of intimidation behind him and seemed to dress as such to scare people. In thick black leather with clasps, he almost looked imprisoned in his own clothes, straining against them. All this study of his form made you look down at yourself, wondering what he thought of you. The small woman without a voice, dressed in the clothes she was made several years ago.
"Your sister says I have a temper" he started, turning slowly to meet your gaze. He studied the way the candles flickered washes of amber and yellowish hues onto the side of your face, bringing the flush of your face out even more. How the flames bounced off the colour of your eyes. He wondered; how could someone be so expressive with simply their gaze.
He could not explain it, but you seemed content in the silence between you.
Slowly, as if movement would trigger the man, you opened the small notebook you carried with you, using the strip of charcoal to scribble something down. Aemond smirked seeing how concentrated you looked staring at the pages, how the line in between your eyebrows popped out slightly as you wrote.
You passed him the notebook, pointing at the page. He handled the book with such care that is astonished you, the way his fingers grasped it, there was a sensitivity to it. You swallowed your breath as his eye ran over the page all too slowly.
I do not know you well, but I have seen no temper.
Without moving an inch, his eye met you again and for a moment you worried you had said something wrong. But he softly handed the notebook back to you, watching your every move.
"Is this how you communicate?" he asked genuinely.
You nodded, as if embarrassed. Thinking of something to write down, you quickly flipped to a new page.
He accepted the notebook again once you had done, looking significantly more nervous this time, the charcoal rubbing black on your fingers.
I hope that the suggestion of our marriage does not embarrass you. If it is to be, I will be an amenable wife.
Aemond read the words on the page a few times, each time saddening him more so than the last. He saw how you fumbled with the charcoal, eyes averted, afraid of his reaction. He sighed so quietly that you did not hear it and only looked up once again when he handed the notebook back to you.
The words seemed to sincere, it bought a pain to his heart to see you think such things.
"Do not reduce yourself to such a thing" he said. But you did not look up.
There was a pregnant pause between you both as he regarded you.
"You are not entirely mute, are you"
You shook your head at his question, he winced at the painful look on your face. Immediately scribbling something down, faster this time.
It is sometimes better not to say anything at all.
Aemond nodded at this, "It is good advice, perhaps it can be bestowed on some within the court"
At this genuinely unexpected quip, you looked up at him letting a laugh escape you, hand immediately coming to your face to hide the smile that bubbled there.
It surprised you how quickly his eyes lit up upon hearing your voice. You could not help but look at him as he smiled before you, your cheeks firing up with embarrassment and you cleared your throat almost immediately, trying to dispel the air.
"You have a lovely voice" he said. It was here that you realised you were still smiling, eyes on his face, trying to find any signs of deception. For a second, you opened your mouth, tempted to say something. But the confidence quickly died as a block constricted your throat and the breath was expelled, but you nodded anyway, in thanks.
Do you read?
He nodded, gesturing to the book you had been reading, now reserved to the side table, all but forgotten.
"I do. I come here often" he said quietly, pacing about again.
You could no longer hide the way you looked at him. Your sister had said he was quick to rise and that she had been scared stiff at the interactions with him, that he had given her no notion of acceptance or equality. She spoke like he thought he was above everyone else.
But this was not the person you saw before you. Before you was some so soft spoken, you could barely hear him most of the time. Someone who enjoyed the serenity of a quiet library with the only sound being the flickering of the candles and the rain hitting the stone walls outside. You envisioned him being the only one to people-watch at parties, not amusing himself with the prospect of dancing. And perhaps not entertaining the thought of speaking to a woman directly.
"I come here when people like your sister remark on my tempestuous nature. Solitude is the only remedy for it" he paused looking over at you, "I imagine it is the same for you"
You scribbled something down, meeting his gaze when you handed it over.
Perhaps it is just that we are misunderstood. Solitude offers comfort.
A smile tugged at his lips once more and he thought that this is the most he had smiled in a long time.
"And books, it seems"
You nod genuinely, your eyes lighting up with an idea. Placing the notebook to one side, you rush past the Prince, giving him an opportune moment to feel the fabric of your skirts pass his thigh and the whips of your hair drag across the leather of his arm, releasing their scent. And with his eyes closed, he relished in these perfumes.
He allowed himself to think about what it would be like to live in that scent. To have it around him.
You placed a book in his hand, looking up at him excitedly. His long fingers grazed over the cover, admiring the gold leaf applied to it.
"Is this your favourite?" he asked, noting how close you remained after placing the book in his hand, though this you had not realised yet. You nodded, smiling as he opened the cover page to inspect the contents. A book he had not read.
He squinted at the pages, confused and looked back at you, barely needing to move his head since he was so tall.
"You can read this?" he asked. Ever humble, you shrugged your shoulders, "This is Valyrian" he sounded almost as if he did not believe you.
But you had read enough books for a lifetime already and you intended to prove to the Prince that what you were implying was truth.
Taking a deep breath, you lean forward and point to a word in Valyrian, inspecting the swirling text upside down. It had been a page right in the middle, telling the history of Aegon the Conqueror's mission to the Riverlands.
"…i-istan…hae…" you took another breath, not meeting the Prince's eye, nervous that if you did all confidence would surely die, "…darys…"
"…dārys" Aemond softly corrected. You could not help but look up at him now, the eye that had been filled with mischief and confidence, now had something else there. You licked your lips and motioned for him to repeat what he has said so you might copy, "dārys…"
"…dārys…h-he….he…" you struggled on the 'h' sounds of the next words, so paused to gather your breath and push past the newly developing blocks. But the Prince waited patiently, more enamoured at the fact that you were attempting to speak before him and that this was possibly the most you had said to anyone in months, perhaps years.
The mere sound of your own voice surprised you, but concentrated on finishing the sentence, you licked your lips once again in concentration. Aemond almost laughed as the line between your eyebrows returned, "…hen ry…vest, vesteros…o-o…" you sighed at yourself, frustrated. The words beginning with vowels were always the hardest.
"…ondoso…" you managed, pushing past the breath quickly and it was the loudest word you spoke in the whole sentence. It felt clumsy and wrong, but if you had looked ahead, you would have seen the hooded look of Aemond looking down at you, mouthing along with you in silent appreciation.
"…rhaenys…" you finished, looking up at the prince. He closed the book and repeated the word back at you but with the trilled 'r' that was difficult for many to pronounce. You smiled, fiddling with your hair, only now realising how close you were to him so you were able to read the book.
You stepped back, suddenly feeling embarrassed and hot. As if you'd been caught doing something you shouldn’t.
"Very good" he said. The smile on your face was difficult to keep at bay and he placed the book to one side, "It is not an easy language to learn. From books?" he asked, to which you nodded.
You were grateful he did not mention anything about your slowness, about the stumbling over the words. He simply complimented your ability to even read and speak any Valyrian and that was all you wanted from him.
You scribbled down.
Perhaps you could teach me how to pronounce it properly.
"I would enjoy that, my Lady" he stepped forward to give you the notebook back, only to keep a hold on it when you tried to take it. His other hand laid on top of hers and all of a sudden, it all felt so real.
You could feel his fingers rub over yours with a strangely soft touch and all the heat rose to your face again.
"It is a brave thing, to show yourself to someone" he said, looking down at you, "Someday, I hope to do the same for you" he said quietly.
You flicked from one of his eyes to his eyepatch, knowing that this was the source of his own pain. All the things the ladies and your sister had said about this man. Saying he was monstrous, tempestuous and someone to fear. It was clear that these people just did not know him.
"Being with you is like being alone" he said quietly, almost to say it to himself.
Your other hand came to his arm, hand smoothing over the soft leather, reaching out to touch him to see if he was real. Your smaller hands barely came around his arm but you squeezed it, offering whatever comfort you could.
At his words, you nodded in agreement, and he could see the sincerity in your eyes. Perhaps he merely wanted to be understood, like everyone would like, but something that people like yourselves was difficult to find.
Dropping the notebook, the charcoal fell to the ground and snapped in two and before Aemond could open his mouth to question, you laid your head against his chest, hearing and feeling his heartbeat through the thick leathers.
He stood stock still for a moment, hands suspended in the warm air around you until he carefully laid them on your shoulders, pulling the hair over your shoulder. And for a moment he could not tell if he was greatly confused, shocked, horrified or comforted by the feeling.
A shudder rattled down your back as you felt his chin rest on top of your head.
"Kirimvose" he whispered, making a burst of air leave you with a laugh. It sounded mildly forced, and it warmed your chest in a way that bloomed across your whole body, knowing now that despite his discomfort, he had said it.
Thank you.

What did you just say?
Aegon x Fem reader (y/n)
«The news of your marriage and pregnancy woke the dragon inside him.»
Sorry I just watched this gif and I couldn't avoid thinking about a moment like this. Also I want to utilize this short writing to let you know that I also like Game of thrones, House of the dragon, star wars, teen wolf, etc. so, occasionally I will start to post about those characters too.
Warning: spelling and grammatical errors.
Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters nor do I claim to own them. I do not own any of the images used nor do I claim to own them.
Part 2 is finally here.
Tumblr media
A soft knock on the door echoed in the room, Aegon was sitting, drinking his morning cup of wine.
- Come in.
- My king.
A servant appeared in the meeting room, Aegon was waiting for him anxiously. Since he became king he only wanted one thing. You.
Both were betrothed before Alicent decided to cancel it and marry Aegon with his sister, Helaena.
He really needed you at his side, he wanted you, his mother made a mistake, he always said that, it was unfair not only for him but for Helaena too, so, now he was king, he wanted a new wife, he wanted what a long time ago belonged to him.
Unfortunately, the poor servant's face was not the kind of face that brings good news.
- Speak now, where's she? Where's my betrothed?
- My king... I... The information I obtained, it's maybe just rumours, I do not intend to defile Lady (y/n)'s reputation or her virtue, But...
Before the servant could end, Alicent appeared at the door, the look in her eyes could say there was guilt and fear.
- Get out, I want to talk with my son.
The servant nodded and started to walk out when Aegon stopped him, he wouldn't let him go without knowing the news or rumors about his beloved.
- Stay, you haven't finished yet, What do you know about her?
- Aegon...
- Silence, you Continue.
- Lady y/n got married a few moons ago with the lord of the north, as I said these are maybe just rumors, but it's probably she's pregnant, a wolf is growing inside her, My king.
Aegon stood up and walked around the room, the servant hadn't moved, Alicent closed her eyes, she was standing there like a statue just waiting for Aegon's reaction. Suddenly, Aegon walked directly to the servant, his face was almost purple of Anger, his eyes could burn, certainly, the news of your marriage and pregnancy woke the dragon inside him.
His hot breaths with the smell of the wine he drank before, were now filling the servant's nose and lungs.
The goblet In his hand flew to the other side of the room, tension filled the room, silence was uncomfortable, then, Aegon simply asked.
- What did you just say?!

Being a Bracken was hard. Well, being a Bracken girl was hard. Your brother, Aeron, was a pompous arsehole. Always acting like he was this big, tough knight, when in reality, he was a little boy who was playing as a pretend knight.
Your uncle, Humfrey, also known as Lord Bracken, was also a pompous arsehole, but he knew how to toy with people. He wasn’t a pretender, he would make promises and keep them. Like the promise that he would get one of his guards to whoop you as a child if you didn’t stop misbehaving, and as all children are, you continued misbehaving, and as you can expect, your uncle stuck to his words, even had the nerve to laugh at you when you tried to sit down on your sore bottom the next morning.
There are many things wrong with House Bracken. But the worst and most annoying of all was the ongoing rivalry between House Bracken and House Blackwood.
Apparently, to the Blackwood’s, years and years ago, the Bracken’s poisoned their dear Weirwood tree. It could be the truth or it could be another of the miscellaneous lies that both houses seemed to spew about each other to back up their rivalry. But in reality, I don’t think either side really knows why they hate eachother.
But what you did know is that you love a Blackwood.
And that was wrong.
Benjicot Blackwood was a sweet boy. Shy and caring. He was everything you wanted in a man. And he didn’t care that you were a Bracken.
Even when you were little, Benji always intrigued you. He was an honourable boy, an honourable man. He would never include a girl in a family feud that all stemmed from jealous men.
“Benji.. the war is coming, isn’t it?..” You whispered to him. You were both deep in the forest, Benji sitting up against a large tree, and you lying in his lap, your head resting on his chest as you get your large dress comfortable on the ground. Playing with his shirt, you look up at him, seeing him staring infront.
“Yes my love. I’m sorry but I must fight, it’s what I was born for. If I cannot protect my Queen then what type of Lord am I?” Benji breathed out. You sit up slightly, placing your left hand on his leg and your right on your chest, your faces inches apart.
“And what about me Benji? If you cannot come back alive then where does that leave me? Married off like a brood mare to the highest bidder? Dead at the hands of the other Blackwood’s? And what if Aegon wins? You could get executed for going against the crown-“
“And you can’t? Rhaenyra will win. And when she does she just might have mercy on the disloyal houses like House Bracken. Or she might kill you. But I know my Queen. The backers of the usurper cunt call her King Maegor with teats. She mourns her children! Her legacy! But even after all that she would spare the lives of those serving the pretender, because she is a good Queen.”
Tears brim your eyes as you stare at him. Wishing this could all be different. “Benji.. I don’t care who wins and who loses, I just want you. I want us to marry and grow old and have children, I want to not be afraid to love you Benji..”
Leaning your head against his, you squeeze your eyes closed and pressed your lips together tightly, trying not to spill tears or a pathetic whimper.
“I’m sorry my love. I promise you I’ll be back. And when I do, I promise I’ll marry you under the Weirwood tree, under the Old Gods and the New. I’ll love you unconditionally, no matter what any Bracken or Blackwood say. You are mine and I am yours. The day we get back, I either ask for your hand or take you as mine if anyone objects.”
You open your eyes and look at him, lips parting slightly. “Really?..” He adorns his sweet little smile finally and let’s out a small, breathy laugh. “Of course my love, you mean the world to me and I’d rather die than let you be used as a political piece for those piece of shit Brackens. Always have been a piece of shit, do you know what your uncle did to my father when they were-“
You grabbed his face, slamming your lips onto his, it was probably the last time that you could and you were going to make the most of it.
Tumblr media
It had been two years. Two full Fucking years. It was over, finally. The usurper, Aegon, had been defeated.
From the start of the war ‘til now, you had matured a lot. All Noble women and children of the Riverland houses had lived in Riverrun since the war started, protecting the houses heirs and family.
Two years ago you were naïve, wide-eyed, and dependent on your surroundings to comfort you. Innocence was your very essence.
Now, post-war, you had come to terms with the world, it couldn’t change, people will continue to kill each other for power. But also, you were ‘ready for children’ according to Lady Tully. She claims your hips have widened and your breasts have grown. She is determined to find you a living husband to carry on your Bracken line but in reality, you wanted to taint that line, with Blackwood blood.
Tumblr media
Soldiers were returning home.
Finally, your family was returning home.
Thousands of men from each houses spewing through each and every crevice, determined to get home.
Tully men made their way towards the Riverrun to celebrate their victory with their wives and children, with those who fought bravely along side with each other.
Darkmont men marched their way home, proud banner men who were eager to pray to the Seven, giving thanks for the victory that the Warrior gifted them, grateful that the Warrior answered their prayers of protection, valour and skill in battle.
The Piper men stalked towards the Pinkmaiden Castle near the Golden Tooth and the border with the Westerlands. Their loyalty towards the Tully’s unwavering in and out of battle. They make their way home while their faces reflect their words, ‘Brave and Beautiful’.
Other houses marched home, House Endymion, House Deddings, House Teague and others. They were all either matching home or to Riverrun to celebrate. You would try and pay more attention, but you’re too busy to acknowledge each and every men as you’re looking out for your man.
Your silly, crazed, depraved man that, hopefully, still has that shy, tender-hearted, gentle and loving boy inside.
You were just about to turn away, to pack up and return home to see what was left of your family, when you see it.
Three sets of flags, each having a trail of burned, bloodied and beaten soldiers following.
In the middle there rode a man holding the Clement House coat of arms on a large banner, a white flag with for blue, jagged line going down vertically.
They were loyal men of the Tully’s, Defenders of the Riverlands but there is only so much those soldiers can do before they stick their swords through their chest due to the constant bickering of the houses on either side of them.
On the left of House Clement, there was your family. House Bracken. Holding their golden banner with the Carmine coloured Stallion plastered in the middle up high as if they weren’t serving the pretender, the usurper, the loser. They had been defeated, yes. But their life long rivalry with the house over the field seemed to make them forget that.
You finally spotted your brother, Aeron. He looked utterly defeated. But that was in his eyes, his body and mouth concealed his battered condition with a confident facade.
Even from so far away you could tell they were bickering. They always were.
Finally your gaze drifts towards the right of House Clement, to your enemies.
A large, grey Stallion, big hooves, a dark matted mane with bit splotches of white and grey littering it the further you get towards its back legs moved in sync with the others at the front of the House Blackwood line. It was the most beautiful horse you had ever seen, trotting at a slow pace and showing off its regal strut. For being such a big and burley horse, it was quite elegant.
But, as beautiful as the horse was, a god sat atop it. The Maiden herself reincarnated as a Blackwood boy, Man.
Benjicot Blackwood had returned, more a man than those marching. He held his family’s banner up high, displaying their victory.
You smiled and stepped away from the window, running through the halls of the Riverrun. You stood at the front of the gates, greeting men as they trotted in.
All the other houses entered or passed and then finally House Clement entered, the banner men leading the Fyrd.
Next came your house, House Bracken. Your cousins and siblings came boasting in. Upon an auburn horse, your brother chucked the banner to the on foot soldiers and got off his horse.
“Sister!” Aeron shouted as he rushed towards you, “The fucking bitch Queen won, the little fuckers burnt half our house, I’ll fucking kill them.”
“Maybe it is for the best Aeron, we should at least be grateful she hasn’t burnt us to a crisp. And.. I’m glad to have you back brother.” You smiled and pressed a palm to his cheek. He sighs and wraps his arms around you tightly, “I’ve missed you sister, truly. It was horrifying out there, you ever seen a dragon rip a man to shreds? Well, hopefully not. Has everything been alright while we’ve been gone?”
“Of course it has brother, I’m a Bracken after all. A Bracken woman. I know how to handle myself. Now, go inside and show everyone how a Bracken stands tall, even after a loss.”
He smiled at me, tightly nodding. He let of me and started walking inside, catching up with our cousins on the steps.
Finally, finally the Blackwoods came marching. But that large stallion wasn’t matching at the start, Benjicot Blackwood, your Benji was no where to be found in fact.
Panic set in through you. Where had he gone? Had he fled? Had your family hurt him? Your questions were left un-answered as Lady Tully came out.
“Sweetheart, come inside, celebrate.” She spoke to you with great kindness, her hands gripping the sides of your arms and gently pulling you away into the Riverrun.
Tumblr media
While the Lady Tully was coercing you inside, Benji was arguing with your uncle, Lord Bracken.
“Your false, usurper, cunt of a ‘king’ has been defeated Lord Bracken, I see no reason why you still think you can act like you have the upper hand.” Benjicot had started to lose his temper.
He had came to Lord Bracken to ask for your hand in marriage, to throw away their rivalries and start a new beginning of joint houses. Of course this was not Benjicot Blackwood speaking, Benjicot Blackwood would rather die than admit this. No, this was Benji speaking. This was the boy who loved a woman speaking.
But as time passed, his new nickname gifted to him in the war came shining through, Bloody Ben came out. He started losing his temper, lashing out at your depraved uncle, calling out his foolishness.
In reality, Benjicot was being just as foolish, lashing out at a Bracken while their large hoard pricks surround him, fucking stupid. But, he had brought Oscar and Kermit Tully alongside him, two long friends of his. So if shit went down, at least they’d die together.
As the bickering continued, both Bracken and Blackwood became increasingly more agitated and aggressive, the two Tully boys standing there like they’re ready to kill them selves and not the men coated in yellow.
“Young Lord Blackwood, do you really think I’d let your tiny Blackwood cock defile my innocent neice?”
Benji huffs, “Lord Bracken, your neice will have the taste of a real man, not a Bracken boy. The gods know we are destined-“ , “You worship the old gods! You will not say the fake gods destine you and her.”
Kermit moves forward, leaning to whisper into Benjicot’s ear, “Ben, maybe we should leave”, Benjicot puts a hand on his chest and softly nudges him away.
“Lord Bracken, rest assured, the old gods and the new know our binding of houses will avoid years of bloodshed in the future-“
Lord Bracken interrupts him, “Why would you want out houses binded? The Blackwood’s hate the Brackens and vice versa, it’s been like that for years, why would you of all people want that? You wish to take a jab at House Bracken while we are at our weakest? Belittle us?-“
“I love her.” Exclaimed Benji, Kermit looked to Oscar and Oscar rolled his eyes, just wanting to sit and feast, tired from the war.
“You know nothing of love, boy.”

It was strange to see Daemon so calm. You never thought you would see him holding your son so carefully or see the softness in his eyes. You never saw him interested in Jacaerys or any of his nephews so you thought he would be just as indifferent to your children. Well, Alyn didn't seem to be of Daemon's interest but Aethan was another story. Whenever Daemon came to see you, he preferred to hold him in his arms instead of Alyn. You have the feeling that it has to do with your youngest child having different colored eyes. One purple, like you, and one blue, like Larys. You knew that Daemon's mother also had different colored eyes but unlike your son, her other eye was green instead of blue.
“Does he remind you of her?” you asked, drawing the prince's attention and making him take his eyes off the baby to look at you. “Your mother,” you clarified just in case before he decided to play dumb.
“I've long forgotten what her face looks like,” Daemon confessed and you didn't even think about it when you took his hand and squeezed it. You felt sorry for him. Your mother was one of the most important people in your life, you wouldn't know what you would do without her. You couldn't imagine growing up without her.” When Viserys saw Aethan he said that he reminded him of our mother. I thought that maybe if I looked closely at it at some point I would remember her. I know, it's something stupid” a bitter laugh escaped his lips.
“I don't think it's something stupid,” you said firmly as you caressed his hand with your thumb. "You shouldn't feel ashamed for thinking about your mother. But you can stay calm. I won't tell anyone that the great Daemon Targaryen has feelings" you said in the last part with fake exasperation making the prince smile. It didn't take you long to mirror his smile. You liked this Daemon better, not the idiot who had spent months being a damn bother with his comments about Jacaerys' true paternity. If Larys were with you he would tell you not to be stupid, that the prince would probably return to his old attitude when Rhaenyra's other bastard was born.
Aethan complained seeing that he was no longer the center of attention making you laugh.
“He's demanding like you,” Daemon said, reluctantly letting go of your hand only to rock the baby again, quickly calming his whining.
“You're good to him, you know?” The softness in your eyes didn't have to mean anything to Daemon but everything about you matters to him. Again he wondered what things would be like now if he had shown up to your wedding with Harwin Strong, if he had let you know that it was an option, that he wanted you. Maybe it would be your child and his that he held in his arms, maybe Aethan would have a green eye like his mother. “You and Laena should give Aethan and Alyn cousins to play with.” At the mention of your sister brought Daemon back to reality.
“Maybe in a long time from now” you couldn't help but be disappointed when you saw her non-existent excitement at the idea of starting a family with your sister, you knew that Laena longed to have her own family. You and Laenor had noticed how loving she was with your children and how she would stare longingly every time Daemon picked up one of the twins.
“Aethan would be angry if we took the focus off of him,” the prince excused himself as he saw the disappointment in your eyes. “He can barely share my attention with you, imagine with another baby.”
Before you could tell him that he was talking shit the doors opened revealing your mother. You watched in confusion as she narrowed her eyes in the prince's direction. What did Daemon do to upset your mother? Had he fought with your sister?
“What did you do?” you whispered.
“Your mother is only bothered by my simple existence” he replied although he knew why Rhaenys was looking at him like that. His cousin always knew that the one he really wanted was you. Laena could pretend to have never seen him look at you but Rhaenys didn't so she was always aware of his interactions with you.

We'll Avenge Our Son
( This is part 2 for "Kill Me" )
Summary: You mourns your dead child, Aegon comes to comfort you, but things take a turn
Warning: NONE
--------------
It was the day after everything, Aegon had everyone evacuated the castle, wanting to find the people who has done this. You had to ride in a carriage with your dead son body on it, all through flea bottom with the small folk giving you kind words, and tossing flowers. But, as soon as you got back to the castles, you grabbed your children and went into your queen's apartments. Even after a while, you was still in your Apartments with your Children, you had just put them down for a nap, not wanting them out of your sight, thinking they would die next.
Meanwhile, Aegon just had gotten done from beating the guard who was apart of the death of his son. He walked all the way from the dungeons to the queen Apartments, not bothering on cleaning up or to have any guards with him. He was mad at himself when he heard of his child death, wondering why there was no guards to prevent this from happening, and wondering why he had to get drunk instead of protecting his family after you begged him to stay.
When he arrives to the doors, the guards let him, not questioning why he was covered in blood. Then he walked in on you, watching the kids like a hawk as they sleep.
"Darling" Aegon mutters not wanting to wake up the children.
You, who got up immediately when you heard your husband voice, walking over to him, before saying, in a broken tone, "They've killed our boy, Aegon."
Aegon, not liking to see you hurt, said, "I know."
After those words come out his mouth, you snapped on him, "You don't know Aegon, you'll never know, you were the one who chose to get drunk with your so called 'friends' in the throne room, your the one who never spends time with the kids, and if you do you only spend time with Jahaery's, not realizing you have other children, do you even know any of their favorite color, or what their first words were. I'll answers for you, you don't because you've never been there for them, do you know, how to explain to Jaehaera that her twin will never play with her, grow up beside her, and protect her from people. You, Aegon, couldn't even protect your own family." After you said the last part, you felt a hand go across your cheek, so powerful that she fell to the ground.
Aegon, who realized his mistakes, hurried to get you off the ground, and onto the couch. You was surprise he had hit you, but you know you deserve it for saying all those mean things to him
"I'm sorry, my dear, my anger got the best of me, I'm sorry for whatever pain I have caused you, I am deeply." Aegon knew that he had to get his shit together for his family, and he'll start now, "Forward on, I'll come see the kids every chance I get, I promise that I'll spend time with you more, we can go on dragon rides, with Vermithor and Sunfrye, and when the time is right I'll avenge our son"
You didn't know what to say to that, not wanting to believe him, but part of you did want to believe him, so you say the only thing that was on your, "We'll Avenge Our Son."
------------
The grammar might be messed up, but it's alright nothing perfect. I like this one. I hope you did too.

Telling the men that your pregnant!! I absolutely adore pregnancy tropes. I just Know that Wyll would be such a sweet father. Son would Halsin and Gale!! Ugh, I love them. Actually, if you could, probably also Minthara somehow? Only if you want. Have a good day <3!
Hey hey so I have actually done this request here but I will add Minthara and Raphael x Because if we can have dragons we can have w/w pregnancies xoxo
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
Minthara:
The flickering glow of the campfire cast long shadows across the forest clearing as you sat beside Minthara, the night quiet except for the distant sounds of nocturnal creatures. The air was cool, and the two of you were wrapped in each other's warmth, the world around you seeming to disappear as you shared this rare moment of peace.
Minthara’s strong arms were wrapped around you, her touch as familiar as the rhythm of your heartbeat. You had always felt safe with her, protected in a way that transcended mere physical security. Tonight, however, there was something more you needed to share, something that would change everything.
You took a deep breath, your heart pounding as you turned to face her. Her eyes, those piercing, fierce eyes, softened as they met yours. You could see the love there, the adoration she rarely showed to anyone else. It gave you the courage to speak.
"Minthara," you began, your voice a mixture of nervousness and excitement. "There's something I need to tell you. Something important."
Minthara’s brow furrowed slightly in concern, her grip on you tightening just a fraction. "What is it, my love?" she asked, her voice low and hushed, as though she already sensed the gravity of your words.
You placed a hand on your stomach, the gesture subtle yet significant, drawing Minthara’s gaze downwards.
"I'm pregnant," you said softly, the words hanging in the air between you. "We’re going to have a child, Minthara. A child of our own."
For a moment, Minthara simply stared at you, her expression unreadable. The silence stretched on, and you wondered if perhaps she was in shock, struggling to process what you had just told her. But then, slowly, the edges of her lips curled into a smile—an expression so rare and beautiful that it took your breath away.
"You’re carrying my child?" Minthara’s voice was filled with awe, her hand reaching out to gently touch your stomach, almost as if she couldn’t quite believe it herself. "You’re carrying my heiress?"
You couldn’t help but chuckle at the certainty in her voice. "Heiress?" you teased lightly. "How do you know it’s a girl?"
Minthara’s eyes met yours, and there was a glint of possessive pride in them as she smirked.
"I can just tell," she said, her tone confident, almost as if it were a challenge for you to question her instincts. Without hesitation, she leaned down and pressed a tender kiss to your stomach, the touch of her lips sending a warmth through you that had nothing to do with the fire nearby.
The kiss was filled with reverence, her possessiveness flaring in a way that was both intense and comforting. When she looked back up at you, her gaze was fierce with determination.
"This child," she whispered, her voice low and possessive, "will be our legacy. Our bond, our love, made flesh. She will be strong, like you. She will be fierce, like me. And she will be ours."
Minthara’s hand remained on your stomach, as though she was staking her claim, ensuring that you knew, and that the world knew, that this child belonged to both of you.
"No one will harm you, or her," Minthara vowed, her voice growing more intense. "I will see to it that you are both protected, cherished, and revered. You are mine, and so is she."
You could feel the intensity of Minthara’s emotions in every word, every touch. The fierce drow warrior, who had always been so strong, so unyielding, was now revealing a side of herself that was vulnerable and deeply protective. It made your heart swell with love for her, and you knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, you would face them together.
Minthara pulled you close, her embrace both gentle and possessive, her lips brushing against your forehead as she whispered, "You’ve given me a gift beyond measure, my love. I will not fail you. I will not fail her."
In that moment, you knew that Minthara’s love for you, and for the child you carried, was unbreakable. And as you leaned into her, feeling the strength of her arms around you, you knew that no matter what came next, you would never be alone.

Raphael:
The grand, opulent room of Raphael’s abode was dimly lit by the soft glow of enchanted lanterns. The rich, crimson curtains were drawn, casting a warm, inviting hue over the elegant furnishings. You paced restlessly, feeling the weight of the news you needed to share with Raphael pressing heavily on your shoulders. His usual aura of confident elegance seemed more distant than ever, and you could sense his sharp eyes watching you with curiosity and a hint of concern.
You had tried to summon the courage to tell him earlier, but each time you opened your mouth, the words seemed to falter. Raphael’s disdain for children was no secret, and you couldn’t help but fear how he would react to the news of your pregnancy. It wasn’t just a matter of his feelings towards children; it was about the future you both shared and how this new life might change everything.
Raphael, sensing your distress, had taken it upon himself to investigate. His elegant footsteps echoed softly as he approached, his eyes narrowing with a mix of frustration and worry.
“Darling,” he began, his voice smooth but tinged with concern, “I can see something is troubling you. You’ve been unusually distant lately. Is there something you’re not telling me?”
You stopped pacing and turned to face him, your heart pounding in your chest. His piercing gaze seemed to demand an answer, and you couldn’t avoid it any longer. You took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself.
“Raphael… I have something important to tell you,” you said, your voice trembling slightly.
Raphael’s eyes widened slightly, a flicker of genuine curiosity crossing his face. “Oh? What is it, my love? You know you can tell me anything.”
You hesitated, then finally forced the words out. “I’m pregnant.”
For a moment, there was a stunned silence. Raphael’s eyes widened further, his usually unflappable composure momentarily shaken. He took a step closer, his voice dropping to a softer, more urgent tone. “Pregnant? You… you’re with child?”
You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat. “Yes. I was worried about how you would react, especially given your… feelings towards children.”
Raphael’s expression shifted from shock to something softer, a hint of hurt flickering behind his eyes. He stepped forward, his hand reaching out to gently touch your arm.
“You think so little of me that you’d believe I would cast aside you and our child?” His voice, though gentle, carried an edge of reproach.
You looked up at him, your eyes filled with regret. “I just wasn’t sure how you’d feel. I know you’ve never been fond of children, and I didn’t want to burden you with this.”
Raphael’s features softened, and he sighed deeply, as though releasing a long-held breath.
“How could you think that I would reject you, or our child?” he said, his tone earnest. “Yes, I have my reservations about the little brats that plague this world, but you and our heir are different. You are my love, and this child… this child is a part of us.”
You could see the sincerity in his eyes, the affection that he had always hidden behind his devilish charm.
“I would never abandon you or our child,” he continued, stepping closer and cupping your face in his hands. “I may not be the most traditional of fathers, but I will embrace this responsibility. You have my word.”
You felt a wave of relief wash over you, your worries melting away as Raphael’s words sank in.
“Really? You mean it?” you asked, your voice barely above a whisper.
Raphael nodded, his gaze unwavering. “Of course, my love. The thought of our child brings me a sense of… unexpected joy. I suppose it’s a sign of my affection for you that I am willing to embrace this new chapter.”
He leaned in and kissed you gently, his touch tender and reassuring.
“We will face this together,” he murmured against your lips. “You, me, and our little one. We will build a future that is ours alone, one that defies expectations and embraces our unique bond.”
You wrapped your arms around him, feeling the warmth of his embrace. “Thank you, Raphael. I was so afraid of what you might say.”
He smiled, his eyes reflecting a genuine warmth you rarely saw. “There is nothing to fear, my dear. As long as we have each other, we can face anything.”
As you held each other, you felt a deep sense of peace and gratitude. Raphael’s love and acceptance made the future seem bright, and you knew that together, you would welcome this new life with open hearts.

Notes: Massive thank you to everyone who's supported this story!💕
You start to grow nervous waiting on the carriage arriving from Winterfell. After waking up earlier than normal, you skipped breaking fast and went straight to the courtyard to wait on your children, your heart beating rapidly with excitement at the thought of seeing them so soon. The maester was supposed to change the bandage on your hand first thing, but this was too important; you didn’t want to miss such an important moment.
“I hope nothing has happened. It is a long journey.”
Jace tightens his grip around your waist. “Daemon is out flying on Caraxes, to make sure nothing happens. If something was wrong, we would know by now.”
Turning your head back, you look up at him and say, “I know you’re right, but I can’t stop worrying.”
“All your fears will settle once you see them.” Jace smiles and presses a kiss on your cheek. “I don’t know who will be more excited to see us—our children or Clara. She will need a few moons to recover—Lyarra!”
The gates to the courtyard open, and a carriage with a banner of House Stark comes into view. Hand in hand, you and Jacaerys run down the steps to greet them.
“My babies!” You smile so much that it starts to hurt your cheek. Bliss was the only word to describe how you felt. “Oh, my love's are finally home.”
The carriage stops just before the steps, and as soon as the door is open, Avery and Aethan burst out, and Jacaerys picks them both up. You kiss the backs of their heads.
“Mother! Kepa!”
Before Aemma can even step foot on the ground, you pull her into a hug and say, "My girl, my sweet girl.” You hold out your other hand for Rhaenys to take. “It’s okay, my darling.”
Looking behind her, Rhaenys reaches her hand out to touch something and says, "Come on, pup.” She jumps out and comes towards you, as does a direwolf pup. She cuddles into your side, “mummy.”
Jace places your sons back down to go to the carriage to receive your babe from Clara.
Tears sting your eyes when your son’s hold onto your skirts. The noose you felt around your neck had loosened since Aegon’s demise, but you never felt completely free of it until now. All you needed was for your five children to be at home, and your world should feel whole again.
“Where is Prince Daemon?” Jace asks; his eyes are trained on the handmaiden’s empty arms. “Where is our son?”
For a split second, you fear the worst until you see an unfamiliar young handmaiden appear from the opposite side of the carriage with your babe sleeping in her arms. “The lady of Winterfell kindly allowed one of her handmaidens, Lady Mormont, to assist me in bringing the children back.”
Tears of relief swell in your husband's eyes. He takes Daemon from her and holds him close, kissing the crown of his head. You would have the chance to hold your babe soon enough, but for now, you were content seeing him in his father's arms.
Quietly, you ask, “I’m presuming she is trustworthy.”
“I would not allow her near them if I didn’t believe so.”
You catch Jacaerys eye, and the two of you share a look and smile.
Lightly rocking your babe you watch as his brown eyes start to close over. His belly was full from feeding, so he would be settled for a couple of hours. His dark hair was starting to curl, closely resembling his father’s. He was truly beautiful.
“Ow!”
“Boys, be more gentle with your toys,” you say softly.
You feel the warmth from the fireplace against your back as you sit cross-legged on the floor, facing the rest of your children. Avery and Aethan were playing with their toys, wooden horses, and dragons. Rhaenys was curled up beside her pup, which, according to Clara, Lord Stark gave her as a gift since the pup followed your daughter everywhere. Aemma tried to fight sleep but has fallen asleep on your bed.
The excitement of being reunited with you and Jace, seeing their new rooms, and trying to comprehend their grandmother now being the queen was exhausting for your children.
“It is rude to stare, my love.”
“I’m only admiring,” Jace chuckles.
He had entered the room silently moments ago, but you had felt Jacaerys watching closely, taking everything in. He sits beside his sons on the floor, and Aethan hands him a toy and says, “Thank you.” Jace inspects the miniature dragon in his hands and asks, “What is this one called?”
“Arrax. It looks like Uncle Luke’s dragon.”
Jace’s eyes are full of tears; he ruffles the boy's hair. “That it does, son, that it does.”
It was hard coming to terms with all the deaths and betrayals your family has suffered, but you prayed time would help. The wounds of losing two brothers would never completely heal, but hopefully it would hurt to speak about them one day.
Five moons later
“I’ve written to Lord Stark, like we spoke of. He and his son Rickon will be our guests of honor in Dragonstone.”
Jace tilts his head, waiting for you to continue. He was sitting across the table from you while breaking fast with your children. “Dragonstone?”
“We are the prince and princess of Dragonstone; what better place to host them than our own castle? I spoke to her grace, and she wants to throw a grand feast to thank Lord Stark and his army for their support.”
He swallows down the food in his mouth while nodding in agreement. “Perhaps once things have settled and the realm has healed, we should return. It’s only a short distance on dragonback; we could still do our duties and spend time with our mother, Daemon, and brother while learning how to rule in our own name.”
“I think it’s a brilliant idea.” You smiled. Jace had a point. As much as you loved watching your mother become queen, you had started to miss the island you called home.
“Mummy.”
Feeling Avery tug on your nightgown, you help him sit on your lap. Unlike his other siblings, who all settled into their new routines and lived in the keep, your sweet boy had only clung to you and spent most nights crying until he was in bed beside you and Jacaerys. Avery reaches his small hand out and takes a piece of fruit from your plate, then rests his head against your chest.
Jace leans over and strokes his silver hair. “What do you think, my boy? Should we return to Dragonstone soon?”
Seeing the way your son’s face lightens up at the mention of returning home was all the confirmation you needed to know it was the right thing to do.
The library was empty aside from yourself and Jacaerys, although he hadn’t noticed you yet. After spending the morning in the training yard while Daemon continues to teach you, Rhaena, and Baela basic swordsmanship, you went looking for Jacaerys. There was no queen council being held until later in the day; your older children were attending their lessons, and your babe asleep with a stomach full of milk.
Jace jumps when you sneak up behind him, placing your hands on his waist. “You are a sneaky thing,” he laughs. “How did training with Daemon go?”
“Fine,” you say, pressing a kiss to the back of his neck. “It’s been a while since I had you alone, dear husband.”
“Lyarra,” his breath stutters when he feels your hand rubbing over his clothed cock. “You will be the death of me. Please, don’t tease.”
“Do you want me to stop?”
Jace turns his head around, grips your face, and presses his lips against your own. “Gods, no.”
Grinning, you untie his breeches, then fall to your knees, freeing his cock as you did.
You take Jace’s hardness into your mouth; your tongue swirls over the tip of his penis, then you start to bob your head back and forth as you suck and lick him. Tears roll down your cheeks when you gag, feeling his cock start to jolt in your mouth. It had been a while since you were intimate, and the last time Jace was focused on your pleasure, and it doesn’t take him long to come undone. He moans loudly while spilling his seed into your mouth.
You wipe away the saliva from your mouth and stand back up, just as Jacaerys fixes his breeches. He pulls you into his embrace and kisses the side of your neck. He whispers, “My love, I need to confess something to you.”
“What?”
“I’ve fantasized about taking you in many different ways in Dragonstone. The council room, the gardens, the great hall…” Jace holds you closer to him. “And when we return, I intend to do just that.”
The thought of Jace bending you over the table in the great hall causes heat to pool between your legs. Giggling, you shake your head and say, “Well, your fantasy will be a reality soon enough.”
“Come, let us go back to our chambers. I’ll have a bath drawn for us.”
Two years later
“Is it true Alicent has died?"
Clara nods and explains further while braiding your hair. “The winter fever took her, princess. The maester had her confined to a secluded room in OldTown when she started showing signs. They say that in her final days, she began asking to see her sons and daughter again.”
You had no love for Alicent; she was the bitch who made your mother's life as awful as she did yours. But you also had no room for hatred or ill-will in your heart. Now that Alicent was at peace, perhaps she was reunited with her family. You twirled the rings on your fingers; the reminder of outliving a child was painful. Aemma has already declared that if she is to have a son, he will be named Rhaegar.
“That’s…sad. How did you hear about this so soon?”
Her cheeks reddened slightly. “My friend—who currently serves as a handmaiden in OldTown mentioned it in her last letter to me.”
Her friend was the same handmaiden who traveled back with her from Winterfell, a pretty Northern girl with copper hair. You were more than certain the ladies were closer than most friends, but to avoid rumors spreading, they stopped visiting one another as frequently. “Princess Aemma will be in need of her own lady-in-waiting soon,” you point out. “Perhaps Lady Mormont would want the position as she is familiar with my children.”
Clara smiles and nods her head. “I shall say to her. That’s the braiding-finished princess.”
“Thank you—” You’re cut off when you hear fast-paced footsteps entering your room. The door to your chambers is opened, and Rhaenys runs excitedly. Her hair was styled identically to the way you wore it most days. “Reni, what have I told you about running in the halls?”
The walls outside your chambers were decorated with dragon statues. As a girl, you bumped into the solid objects many times and knew how painful it could be.
“Sorry, mother,” she says as she steps in front of you and twirls. “Do you like it?”
The dress Rhaenys was wearing was the first one she had designed for herself. The gown was olive green with pale orange ribbons and embroidery on it. The smile on Jacaerys face when he saw the dress with colors identical to his own dragon was priceless; he almost became teary-eyed.
“You look beautiful, my girl.”
When Clara finishes the last touches to your outfit, you hold your hand out for your daughter to take.
It was Avery and Aethan’s name day, and a small celebration was being held in the great hall. A ship with Daemon, your siblings, and Lord Corlys arrived the night before. Princess Jaehaera and Prince Maelor would be present as well; both children inherited their gentle nature from their mother.
Her grace, the queen, had flown to Dragonstone Syrax a few days prior. The longest you had gone without seeing her was a week. Even living apart you had remained extremely close.
Four years later
Hearing your agonizing screams of pain, Jacaerys barges into your shared martial chambers. The maester and midwives kept assuring him that nothing was wrong and he should remain waiting outside, but he could take it no longer. You are thankful this labor was quicker than the last; your water had only broken the night prior, and now that the sun is rising again, you are only a few pushes away from the pain being over.
“Jacaerys!”
He comes to your side and takes hold of your hand. “I’m here, I’m here!”
“It fucking hurts!” You sob, “It hurts so much.”
“The pain will be over soon,” he says, planting a kiss on your sweaty forehead. “And you’ll have the babe in your arms.”
“One more push,” the midwife orders.
Screaming, you use all your remaining strength to bring another child into the world. Holding out your arms, desperate to hold your newborn for the first time. The seconds it takes for the midwife to wrap the babe in a blanket feel like it's never ending.
“A strong boy, kicking like a goat.”
Tears roll down Jace’s cheeks as he watches the babe finally be placed in your arms. “I’m proud of you, Lyarra.”
“My sweet boy,” you say, taking in the newborn's appearance. He has typical Targaryen features aside from his dark hair, like his fathers. “He’s so tiny and perfect.”
After your handmaidens help you change into a fresh gown and the bedding is changed, Jacaerys assists you over to the chairs by the fireplace in your chambers. You take his arm before sitting down.
“I don’t believe I’ve seen her grace this delighted in a long time,” Clara, who had followed closely behind, “As are the children, they are keen to meet the newest prince to grace us in Dragonstone.”
Since the day the maester confirmed your pregnancy, your mother and Daemon have been overjoyed with excitement. Rhaena was expecting her first child within the next moon, so it only added to the joy of knowing you got to bond over experiencing being with child at the same time.
Jacaerys opens the door for your mother to enter the room, and he and Daemon go to inform your children and siblings that it’s a boy before bringing them through to be introduced to him. “Lyarra, my sweet,” your mother says, walking over to you with tears in her eyes. “The gods have been kind and granted you another beautiful babe, have you thought of a name yet?”
“No, not yet,” you say, lifting your gaze from the babe to meet hers. “Can you stay longer than a few days this time?”
She brushes fallen hair out of your eyes and says, “I will stay however long you want me, my love. If I’m needed at court, I can go on Syrax, then come back.”
You rest your head on her shoulder when she sits beside you and says, “Thank you.”
“You are my daughter; I’ll always be here for you.”
Hearing footsteps, Jacacerys looks up from the book in his hands, smiling when he sees you walking towards him. The room is almost in complete darkness, aside from a few candles and the moonlight.
“It’s late; you should be resting.”
“As should you, my prince.”
Jace puts the book down and offers you his hand to help guide you down onto the chair beside him. He kisses the back of your scarred hand. “I swear by the faith of the seven, you are the most beautiful human I’ve ever seen.”
“Stop,” you blush. “It’s a sin to lie, husband.”
“I speak only the truth,” he says. “How are you feeling?”
The day had been overwhelming, to say the least. It was hard to believe your son was almost a day old and was still yet to be named. “I’m exhausted, but I reckon the babe will wake up for a feed soon.” You cuddle into Jace’s side and say, “I’ve thought of a good name, one of great honor.”
“What is it?”
“Jacaerys.”
Jace plants a kiss on the crown of your head and says, “I love you, now and forever.”

I have a moden fic idea for House of the Dragon:
When Jace, Luke, and Joff came out with brown hair and eyes someone took it upon themselves to get rid of the children. It could be Larys, Otto, Alicent getting rid of Rhaenyra’s heirs. Maybe it is Rhaenyra herself to keep her reputation unstained, maybe Viserys for the same reason, or maybe Rhaenys or Corlys for their house’s honor and reputation as they don’t want their son to be known as a cuckold.
The end result is that Jace and Luke end up in an orphanage together and grow up as brothers with most if not all of their immediate family believing they are dead. Joff is not raised with them because of the age difference and goes somewhere else and this is where it goes wrong.
Joff is discovered, maybe he has an illness that only Targaryens get, a rare gene marker, his hair turns white, something to indicate that he is Rhaenyra’s son. Someone puts it together, tells Rhaenyra and she goes to see. She looks at Joff and decides that she will raise him. She brings him home and the whole story comes out and Rhaenyra and/or Viserys and/or the rest of the family realize that the other two boys are alive and are determined to look for them.
This brings us to Jace and Luke who grew up together and consider themselves brothers. I imagine they are both in high school when all this happens and they don’t really want a family now. Jace has an older boyfriend who lives in the North, Cregan, who he is planning on moving in with after graduation. Luke will join them after he graduates. They have a plan and they are happy, so when the Targaryens and Velaryons crash into their life and ruin their peace neither of them are happy.
They run. Jace tries to get him and Luke on a train to the North and to Cregan. Once there Jace is planning on asking Cregan for help. Cregan has some money so he can maybe help him get a lawyer or they could get married. In my mind Jace isn’t that far off from 18 so he is using this more as a stalling tactic (Jace and Cregan are in love and have always planned on getting married and this unfortunate situation only sped up the timeline).
Luke is a little more tricky because he is a minor and will be a minor for a few more years. It is very likely that the Targaryens will get custody of him and he knows that. Luke doesn’t like it but he has accepted the reality of the situation unlike Jace who is fully prepared to throw hands.
In the end Jace and Luke do manage to get North and meet up with Cregan but now the Targaryens and Velaryons have the whole country looking for them. Jace and Luke try to lay low but there is only so long they can hide before they are discovered and brought before the rest of the family. Jace and Luke are not pleased.
It devolves into a huge angsty, family drama, custody battle. Jace does not want to stay with these people and absolutely makes it known. Jace wants to stay with Cregan or go back to the orphanage if that is not an option. This does not endear Cregan to the Targaryens or Velaryons who do not like this older Northerner who is in a relationship with their son/nephew/grandson/cousin.
Luke is a different story. He is quieter, not happy but not as angry as Jace. He is polite but he maintains a clear distance between himself and anyone who isn’t Jace or Cregan (as a note before this whole debacle Luke wasn’t super close with Cregan, now he is relying on him in a way he doesn’t really do with anyone but Jace).
No one is completely happy with the situation but many of them think they can make it work once custody is awarded. It doesn’t get better. Jace clings to Cregan when it is announced that the boys are now under Rhaenyra’s custody. Luke is very stoic and won’t say anything. It is like the brothers have switched personalities and for everyone who knows them it is very worrying.
In the end the boys have to go home with Rhaenyra and it is awkward. Rhaenyra tries to connect with them but neither boys are having it. Jace and Luke are both distant and Jace seems to have decided to ice them out rather than blow up on them. This works until the family realizes that Jace is still in contact with Cregan and ban him from talking with him. Jace does not handle this restriction well, he spits vitriol at everyone peeling back their soft spots and burning their underbelly. He slams doors and while he doesn’t scream or yell he is noticeably angry. In this he embodies the Targaryen words and in his anger his eyes burn🔥.
Luke isn’t happy either. He doesn’t like how everyone is treating his big brother. He doesn’t like how everyone is acting like they can or will be one big happy family. He doesn’t like how everyone is trying to kick over a decade alone with only each other to rely on under the rug and acting like it never happened. He doesn’t like how everyone is acting like they know what’s best for them and have any say in their lives when they met them a few months ago, and ran from them right after.
I want Jace and Luke being a team against everyone else. I want the adults trying, wanting to make a connection, sometimes succeeding, but also messing up most of the time. I want Jace to lash out and be afraid that the future he envisioned with Cregan will not be possible anymore because of the Targaryens and Velaryons. I want Jace to be so afraid that one of the few things in his life that made him feel safe and secure and loved may be in jeopardy because the family may not let him go even after he turns 18 or that Cregan may leave him because of all the problems his family is causing (Cregan will never leave Jace he is in love and devoted and trying to find a way around the Targaryens and Velaryons to talk to Jace).
Jace is spiraling down a hole of increasingly irrational fears that cause him to lash out and cling to any piece of normalcy which is often Luke or sometimes the little children (they remind him of the other children from the orphanage). Luke sees what is happening to his brother but doesn’t know how to help because while Jace’s fears aren’t entirely rational they aren’t entirely irrational either. Luke always knew that since he was younger there would be more time before he was free of the system and thus more time for something to happen to him. Luke is dealing with this easier because this custody arrangement ensures that his worst fear won’t happen, because they are related through blood Luke and Jace cannot be separated.
More time goes on and the situation devolves and Jace gets more scared, more reserved, and lashes out more as a result. Luke knows what is happening but can’t help. The family won’t let Jace see Cregan and with every slammed door and argument each side is more sure they are right. Meanwhile Luke tries to mediate and as a result does form some bonds with the family. Luke does feel guilty about this as he knows it will not help any of Jace’s fears but he does find it nice to have someone other than Jace care about his well being.
Luke just wants his brother who has always taken the weight of the world on his shoulders to be able to trust someone to take care of him. Cregan was the first person to do that but the rest of the family is blocking Cregan and his lawyers. With each week that passes that Cregan doesn’t call and Luke settles in more Jace gets worse until he ultimately tries to run away.
Jace doesn’t get far but he does get hurt. The family gets called into the hospital and is worried sick when Cregan arrives. Luke called him. The family is not happy but Luke convinces them to let Cregan go in and talk to Jace. Cregan goes in and the minute Jace sees Cregan he breaks down crying. Cregan holds him for a while and Jace tells him all his fears. Cregan reassures Jace that he isn’t going anywhere and Cregan convinces Jace to give the family a chance. Jace agrees to try.
Jace speaks to the family with Cregan in the room and he tells them he is willing to try with them. Jace does stipulate that he wants to be able to see and call Cregan when he wants as long as he tries and the family agrees. Jace really scared them and at this point they just want Jace to be able to relax. Lucerys explained a lot of Jace’s fears while he and Cregan talked and the family has come to realize that they screwed up with the boys.
Jace gets out of the hospital and Cregan has to go back home but promises Jace that they will talk, video call, and that he will visit. Jace goes home with the family and makes an effort. I imagine at this point we will have some time where Jace, and to a lesser degree Luke, open up to the family little by little.
I am not sure how this story ends. Maybe with the whole family coming together for Jace’s wedding. But I imagine the whole fic is chalk full of angst, family feels, the very tight brotherly bond between Luke and Jace, and plenty of exploration of the very devoted and loving relationship between Jace and Cregan

List of All Elia Martell-centric fics I enjoy:
Elia Martell And The Crown She Didn’t Want: AU where she marries Baelor Hightower yet Rhaegar is longing for her, which is unreciprocated.
Two Father’s, One Son: Everyone Lives AU where Jon Snow dies unexpectedly and Elia comes back to KL, married to Baelor Hightower.
The Isle Of Faces Does Not Welcome: Elia and Rhaegar have a third child, and Elia confronts Lyanna. No bashing of her, from Lyanna’s POV.
Clean AU: Elia and children are missing, assumed dead for 15 years, until a mystery knight returns to KL, claiming the blue roses his mother deserves.
The Queen And Her Bastard: Everyone Lives AU. Legitimised bastard Jon with sympathetic Lyanna slowly turned more cunning against Elia. Jon-Aegon have positive relationship, in spite of their mother’s ambitions.
The Brightest Sun: Elia and kids transported to Harry Potter Epilogue era. Train and arrive to Westeros during GOT. 200K words.
Poetry is what he thought, but did not say: Erik Kilmonger as Rhaegar. Ruthless Elia with ruthless Rhaegar who has a controversial temperament and bad reputation. Interesting dynamic with Barristan, Arthur and Aerys.
Dragons spin and spin: Spiders weave and weave: Mainly Elia Martell AU oneshot collection, with other characters included.
A tigress, not a woman: Elia Martell scorned by Rhaegar, wants for a annulment. Elia beloved by the Smallfolk.

Thank you to everyone who gave me recommendations for a name for Klaus’ sword, a lot of them were things from HotD including the Dragons names for some reason but IMO Drogon would be an awesome sword name😆 In the end I took a few words from names given and went with it
Tumblr media
•Niklaus is a huge show off for Y/n from the first moment they met as children and it only gets worse as they grow older
•It used to be things like how he was faster than the other boys or stronger, or how much farther he could swim but as they grew he got more and more bold when showing off. He grew into a great swordsman and showed off while dueling Elijah who showed off for Tatia himself, until Mikael came along anyway
•Niklaus always loved to show Y/n his paintings from the time he was a boy and she marveled at them, especially as they got better and better the older they got
•Y/n would often find him different colored flowers when she traveled to other villages with her father, he loved how she thought of him and got a kick out of her bringing him flowers
•Y/n’s parents, Harald and Elli, loved Niklaus and her father was more than happy with the idea of the boy marrying her if he could get the guts to ask for her hand which he eventually did
•His father hated the idea of the two of them together as she was a beautiful girl, untainted, well behaved and the daughter of a strong, rich and important Viking (that Mikael seemed to have a bit of a man crush on). Mikael considered it a waste, Niklaus having her which is why he attempted to get Finn to court Y/n instead, it was a huge relief to both Klaus and Y/n that Finn had absolutely no interest in that
•Niklaus and Finn covered for each other, pretending to be with each others girls so that Niklaus could spend time with Y/n and Finn could be with Sage who both Mikael and Esther hated
•Niklaus loved that his future wife wasn’t the prim and proper Viking girl that everyone seemed to dream of for some strange reason and he found himself entertained when she did unladylike things such as his love tripping Tatia in the village once for flirting with him. According to Y/n she was clear to the beautiful girl about how her face wouldn’t be beautiful much longer if she kept up her flirting with not just Niklaus, but anyone other than Elijah if she was serious about the kind man that Y/n already considered her big brother (Elijah never told her how much it had meant to him but he adored her for it upon realizing that Tatia had stopped flirting with other men that very day)
It was a welcome change from Niklaus constantly ‘staking his claim’ on his girl whenever a new man took a liking to her, though Niklaus knew she loved how jealous her strong Viking man was when it came to any other man so much as looking at her too long
•Niklaus had been trying to find the right time to ask Harald to marry her for a long time, however he was nervous. While he knew that her father liked him, he still had his doubts and worries that he would say “no”, especially if he had spoken to Mikael who Niklaus knew didn’t want him and Y/n together. It wasn’t until Kol told him of one of his friends older brothers who had taken a liking to his girl in the last few weeks now that she was 16 and officially old enough to marry (in her fathers eyes since technically she had been able to marry since she was 12 but both Harald and Elli refused). As soon as Kol had told him of the conversation he had heard between his friend and his older brother Joran, Niklaus was running down the path to Y/n’s home.
‘Niklaus! Where are you off to so quickly, son?’ He hadn’t even had to announce himself, finding Harald outside, sharpening his sword.
‘I was hoping for a word with you sir, if you’ve got a moment?’ He looked up from the blade with a knowing smirk on his face and Niklaus knew, he knew her father knew exactly why he’s here.
‘Of course, my boy. Been waiting quite some time for this conversation, I was sure it was coming. You actually took longer than I expected. Go ahead.’ He couldn’t say he was shocked, Niklaus knew Harald was aware of his feelings but he also knew that Niklaus would never do anything to harm or dishonor his daughter so he didn’t seem to worry about him being around her. Unlike most fathers who would be concerned about idiot boys wanting nothing more than to get under their daughters skirts, Harald knew that Niklaus would never touch his baby girl while they are unwed (at least no more than the hand holding they had already done that had his baby girl blushing up a storm for the rest of the evening after they had parted the first time). Niklaus would never put a stain on her name like the one that Tatia carries around since spreading her legs for a man who abandoned her the moment she learned about the baby. Her father also knew that even if something happened between them, Niklaus would never leave Y/n alone, he could see how much the boy loved his daughter and no matter what happened, that’s all he wanted for his baby girl.
‘Sir…I love your daughter…I love her and I-I want to a-ask you for her h-hand.’ He took a deep breath, trying to calm his stuttering before continuing. ‘I admit, I don’t have much but I can provide for her every day. I will take care of her, and our children, as many as she will give me, I will keep them safe and not a day will go by that your daughter and grandchildren won’t know how much they are loved…I’m asking you to please, allow me to marry your daughter?’
Harald stared back at Niklaus for several long moments before his face broke out into a grin and he turned his head towards his home. ‘Y/n! There’s a man here that’s asked for your hand and I’ve said “yes”! Come meet your husband!’
‘What?! Father! I have told you I-‘ Y/n was cut off as she turned the corner to see her best friend staring back at her with a hopeful look in his eyes as he waited for her reaction. While it is her fathers prerogative to marry her to whoever he chooses, if Y/n didn’t want him then he would, of course, retract his proposal. However it didn’t seem like he needed to as she charged him and leapt up into his arms with a grin and contagious laughter. ‘I didn’t think you would ever do it, I’ve been waiting months!’ She glared, fake anger on her sweet face.
‘My apologies, Princess, I will never make you wait again. You’re all mine now.’
•It was actually later that very same day that Joran came to speak to Y/n’s father only to find Niklaus with his arms wrapped around her as they discussed the feast for their wedding, knowing it needed to be large as the party would probably go on well into the night (whether they were there or not)
•The idiot actually waited until Y/n was alone and tried to sway her from her wedding with Niklaus. He tried making a case that he was his Fathers oldest son while Niklaus was just a middle child, he tried getting her to believe he was the stronger of the two of them and that he could protect her better. Y/n couldn’t be swayed in any way and it wasn’t a moment after he realized that that he found himself sprawled out on the ground with his nose gushing blood and a smirking Niklaus standing over him ‘The next time you come anywhere near my wife, a bloody nose will be the least of your concerns…get out of my sight.’
•Niklaus’ siblings were all very excited about him getting married, especially Rebekah who was thrilled to be about to have a sister. Elijah, Finn and Kol all helped Klaus in building their home for his wife as a wedding gift and his parents were immediately unhappy that their new home was both, bigger than theirs (a home that they had forced 6 children to live in their entire lives) and closer to Y/n’s parents than to them
•From the moment Elli found out Niklaus had asked Harald for her daughters hand she was on his ass about children, ‘Neither of you are getting any younger.’ ‘Her prime child bearing years are right now, so you had best get started, Niklaus.’ ‘I will watch my grand babies all the time, that way you’ll have plenty of time to make me more.’ He loved how excited she was for them to have children but she was behaving like she wanted them yesterday, he can’t even start trying until they’re married but his soon to be mother in law didn’t seem to care, both of Y/n’s parents however adored Niklaus and he was happy for it and enjoyed them treating him better than his own parents ever had
•On the day of their wedding all of their families were in attendance as well as most of the village (who were mostly just there for the feast and drinking). Niklaus watched his bride approach him for the last time as an unmarried women, a wreath of flowers on her head that Rebekah had made for her (with the help of Henrik who picked most of them knowing the small purple flowers were Niklaus’ favorite to paint with) and for the first time without the Kransen that usually adorned her head. He knew she will have saved it, as her mother had done for her, for their future daughter once she was old enough and the thought made his heart swell, making him that much more desperate to fill his wife with his babies
Tumblr media
•During the wedding ceremony Niklaus was shocked when Harald presented him with a Long Sword. It was a double edged heavy iron sword inlaid with silver on the handle, the handle was wrapped with soft leather and the pommel was heavy silver with 2 runes carved into it, one for Protection and one for Blessings. Niklaus was stunned by this gift, he had been taught to wield a sword obviously, however the one he had always used was his fathers. Niklaus never thought he would be able to afford a sword like this (a sword that he and Y/n had later decided to call BloodScythe), he had plans to get his own for his family’s protection of course, but this sword is very clearly worth more than he had ever seen in one place.
In that moment, he couldn’t help it, he began to doubt that this marriage was a good idea. Even if he knew the money meant nothing to him, he would have to find a way to keep his father from being a problem and he had never succeeded at that in his own life.
Niklaus had known that Y/n’s father was well off, it was half the reason Mikael hadn’t wanted Niklaus to wed Y/n but rather Finn, who would be much more willing to take care of his parents or even just give them money from the dowry that Harald would pay for her. Niklaus did not yet know how much silver it was that they were getting and while that money was technically Y/n’s even after the wedding, he knew that she would give it to him as the one who handled the money. Mikael was the kind of man who believed that every ounce of silver, gold and piece of jewelry belonged to the man of the house to do with as he pleased, which is why he knew he could manipulate Finn into “letting him handle” Harald’s money from both the dowry and the inheritance once the couple passed since Y/n was their only heir.
Niklaus had a suspicion that that’s the reason Elli was so desperate for him to fill her daughter with babies. Y/n’s mother had nearly died in childbirth and after that Harald forbid her from even trying for more children, not willing to lose his wife when they already had a perfect baby girl, even if that meant never having a son of his own. Niklaus found his respect for Harald growing instantly upon hearing that fact, all men were desperate for a son to pass their name onto, to teach to fight and hunt and even Niklaus himself desperately wanted a son, but Harald loved his wife so much that he was willing to give up on that dream to ensure she did not suffer…it was something that Niklaus knew Mikael would never do, regardless of how many sons he already has.
He had found himself wondering on more than one occasion if he would do the same, if he would give up on having a son, or any more children than one daughter if it’s what he needed to do to save Y/n’s life and he knew he would without a doubt
‘I am giving you my child, she will be under your roof and under your protection. As I give you my daughter I gift you this sword, that you will always care for her, keep her safe and whole, and protect the children she bares you. I am trusting you, Niklaus.’ He was floored by his now father in laws words and he found himself holding the tears back at the idea of Y/n’s father believing in him. The firm look on the man’s face showed Niklaus how serious he was in his words and he knew in that moment he would honor his promise, Niklaus would die if it meant his wife and children were safe, of that he was positive
‘Thank you for your trust. I give you my word, I will love and protect your daughter for the rest of my days. I will use this sword to defend our home, defend her honor and defend our family. I will use it to teach my sons to do the same and I will ensure my children never know a moment of suffering…not at my hands or anyone else’s.’ Niklaus was determined to not be even the slightest bit like his father, he would love his children, as many of them as the Gods see fit to grant and as many as his beautiful wife is gracious enough to bare him.
•As they shared their first kiss he felt his entire body buzzing like lightning. Y/n was finally his, his wife and his future. Niklaus kept her in his arms after their shared kiss, only releasing her to slide the ring onto her finger and allow her to do the same, the bands being a thick and heavy silver with runes adorned around the outside in a repeating pattern of Partnership, Prosperity, Loyalty and Desire. The only difference in their rings was 2 runes on Niklaus’ that meant Protection and Warrior to signify his role in their marriage and lives as were hers on her ring that meant Fertility and New Beginnings.
•Their married life was pure bliss in Niklaus’ eyes, taking the girl he had been in love with since he was a boy back to their home for the first time and carrying her to their new bed had him downright giddy and he spent the rest of the night worshipping her body. He made her cum every which way he could imagine bringing her pleasure, only stopping once the sun came up to sleep for a few hours before feeding his new wife and jumping straight back into bed with her. He shocked her with how willing and determined he was to have her ride his face for almost an entire hour that afternoon before even fucking her again and wrapping them both back into the thick furs to sleep once more. They remained like that for almost 2 weeks, Harald, Elli, Elijah and Kol all bringing them food while Niklaus was determined to ensure his seed took hold inside of his wife as soon as possible, and it did, seemingly almost immediately
•Everyone was excited by the prospect of having a new baby in the family, Y/n’s parents being the most excited and ensuring the couple had everything they would need to care for the baby. Henrik began spending the days with Y/n almost immediately once Niklaus began to work, he knew how much his big brother did not want her to be alone and so he stayed until his brother came home every day. Niklaus had taken to hunting rather than farming to make money, selling his catches in a few different towns to families who couldn’t hunt for whatever reason, and he made fairly decent money doing it which led to him coming home one day to his father man handling his 6 month pregnant wife
He couldn’t tell what came over him in that moment but one second Mikael was clutching his wife’s upper arms tightly and shaking her and the next he was on the ground having his face beaten in. Henrik had seemingly run home upon seeing his father arguing with Y/n and a moment later Elijah was pulling Niklaus off of their father. He turned and inspected his wife immediately, seeing her cheek was bright red and her eyes were red and puffy from crying.
‘I’m alright Niklaus, I promise you-‘
‘And the baby?! Did he touch the baby, I swear to all of the Gods he will die where he stands if he touched my child!’ He swore it to her and Y/n knew he was telling the truth, in fact she knew that had Elijah not come when he did, Mikael would probably already be dead.
‘He is alright my love, your father did not touch anything but my arms and a smack to my face when I insulted him. There’s no need for him to die, not this time.’ Just then Y/n’s parents came running up the path with Niklaus’ youngest brother not far behind, Elli instantly pulling her daughter into her arms and checking her over while Niklaus turned to her father who inspected the scene, seeing Mikael on the ground with Elijah between him and his son in law, Niklaus who had blood covering both of his hands.
‘Good job, son. How is she?’ He asked, never taking his eyes off of Mikael.
‘She’s alright, a few bruises. I am confident that even if I hadn’t come home when I did she would have been alright, my brother got Elijah like he was supposed to. Thank you.’ Henrik hugged Niklaus tightly, enjoying the proud look on his older brothers face as he had always been more of a father than a brother to him, more than his real one at least. ‘Go home now, let mother know everything is alright and that father and Elijah will be home soon.’
‘Alright. Are you okay, Y/n?’ He asked and Y/n smiled at the 13 year old boy.
‘I’m alright, hun. Go on home, Niklaus and I will take you to the market tomorrow and get you something special, okay?’ She offered and his face lit up before turning and taking off towards home as he was told.
‘It’s time for you to leave as well, Father.’ Niklaus glared before his father in law spoke up.
‘The next time you put your hands on my daughter, you will find the entire village at your door, ready to string you up. Remember that before you come back again.’ Harald promised, and Mikael had the intelligence to look concerned about the obvious threat. ‘Get your wife home, son.’
‘I will. Thank you for coming-‘
‘Thank you for keeping your word…I never had any doubt my child would be safe with you. You’re a good man Niklaus, and a good husband.’
•Over the next few years, Y/n had 4 children, giving Niklaus 3 sons and a little girl. He taught all of his boys to hunt and to fight, allowing them to enjoy having fun once in a while unlike what he and his siblings were allowed in their childhoods. Niklaus loved all of his children equally and he kept the promise made on his wedding day, he never raised a hand to them and he never let anyone else either, they never experienced a moment of abuse in their lifetime. His boys were incredible fighters and hunters, and they were extremely protective of their little sister, making their parents prouder than they thought possible. Niklaus didn’t think he could have asked for more
