My biggest flex is that I never ever fell for or partipicipated in misogynystic hate campaigns. Not with Taylor Swift, not with Billie Eilish, not with Megan Thee Stallion, not with Ariana Grande, not with Amber Heard, not with Millie Bobby Brown, not with Meghan Markle, not with Hannah Kae Kim, not with Brie Larson, not with the Kardashian family, not with Daisy Ridley, not with Mia Khalifa, not with Doja Cat, not with JKR, not with Amanda Bynes, not with Azealia Banks, not with Selena Gomez and not with Hailey Bieber. Did I forget someone? Women are never held to the same standards as men. Chris Brown, Johnny Depp, Charlie Sheen, Woody Allen, Kanye West, Mel Gibson, ETC, they never even got half the portion of hate that the women did for *checks notes* dating many people…uhh, believing in biology, uhhh… not smiling enough in the movies… uhhh…being visibly mentally ill… yall get the point.

Apparently Zionists are harrassing Sudanese people who're risking death to post updates from their own genocide because they can't tell the Sudanese flag 🇸🇩 apart from the Palestinian one. 🇵🇸
Mfers 1) can't even identify what they hate so much, 2) can't leave any Black people alone if their lives depended on it.

sidemenupdates: omg!!
y/nfanpage21: iconic couple🔥
user3524192: she deserves so much better than him!
user9812034: absolutely not he's so ugly.
user2470195: who tf even is that?🤣
I met JJ a month and a half ago at an event. He was so sweet and despite looking slightly intimidating, he is the cutest little softie I've ever met. He asked me out and I was officially his girlfriend two weeks later. We decided to keep our relationship private as I'm an actor and have had relationships ruined in the past, due to random strangers on the Internet and their opinions. But yesterday we went out for dinner and were pictured by paparazzi on our way out. We have been so careful and were also wearing dark clothes but I assume someone in the restaurant recognised us and so told the paparazzi where we were.
Since our relationship became public the amount of hate JJ has been getting it is crazy. People are spreading stupid rumours and Twitter is full of people talking shit about him and our private life. I feel absolutely awful. He has dealt with lots of hate in the past just from being in the sidemen, but it's nothing like this. He has stopped appearing in more sidemen videos, along with sidemen reacts just because the comment section is completely ignoring the videos and just talking about JJ. We're both confused on why people care so much and are so outraged. JJ is a YouTuber, musician and boxer but people still believe I shouldn't be with someone like him because he's not 'famous enough'.
Today I sat in my apartment when I got a call from Tobi: "hey, what's up?" I asked. "Hi um- JJ... he's been acting really strange today, like really quiet and sorta just kept his head down. We're a bit worried about him." He said quietly. I sighed "I think everything that's been going on has started to get to him. I'll talk to him when he gets home. Thanks Tobs." I said. "Alright, in a bit." "Bye." I put the phone down and quickly clicked on instagram.

user30597182: I seriously don't know why people cared so much about their relationship, it's their lives?😂
user51932678: I think they look nice together.
"Hey!" JJ's loud voice traveled through my apartment. I stood from the sofa and ran towards him, pulling him into a massive hug. "I saw your insta post." He said as we pulled away. "Yea... I know I should have asked you first before posting that but I-" I rambled. "I thought it was really cute. Thank you babe." He cut me off. I smiled up at him "hopefully all those idiots shut the fuck up now." I said. He laughed "I love you so much." He pulled me into a kiss.

Taking Action Against Antisemitic Hate: When Content Moderation, Self-Regulation, and Legislation Fail
The explosive growth of antisemitism in Canada since October 7th is well documented with shooting at schools, the need for a regular police presence at synagogues and community centres, arrests on terrorism offences, and protests targeting Jewish owned businesses and communities. So in that context, some antisemitic graffiti at a bus stop in Toronto over the weekend might have been just one more…

So here's how my evening's been going.....
Me: Sees radfems saying men can't be feminists/inherently uphold/support the patriarchy.
Posts on tumblr: Hold on. The patriarchy harms men too, I know because I'm one of them.
Radfems: shut up! You're part of the patriarchy stop trying to make feminism about men!
Me: I'm not. I'm pointing out that men can be victims of the patriarchy too and feminism isn't a gender exclusive movement.
Radfems: you don't know you're talking about! You deserve to suffer because of the patriarchy! Also kill yourself!

I hate the thought that people hold back from posting their thoughts, feelings and creations out of fear for bullying. I also understand it and can't blame anyone for protecting themselves. I just hope they don't integrate the hate and start to think they're wrong for being who they are.

On hate
I made the mistake of actually trying to talk to people about the problems of online hate in fandom (and overall online hate) over the past week but it’s a pointless exercise, they just want to see people as evil. They are completely missing the point of what this band stands for. We sing songs about there being no evil/good dichotomy. Songs about how we are all mostly just trying to do our best and learn how to do better by looking at our bad sides and mistakes.
The point is, if you can’t see people as being able to change and grown and learn then I just can’t imagine how you look at yourself. If you devote your time to hate than you do more harm to yourself than to anyone else. Hate it’s a powerful all consuming feeling that we need to be careful of.
Hate has repercussions, you could be in the right and the other person in the wrong but as soon as you start a movement based on hate you are a part of the problem.
Jon Ronson wrote about this exact movement in 2016 before it even got named cancel culture,  “So You've Been Publicly Shamed”  it’s one of those books that are hard to forget and will make you think about how you interact with the internet.
Another recent media that is even more related to fandom’s interaction is Donald Glover’s “Swarm” (2023). I’m still halfway through it, the shows makes me super anxious and afraid. It may seen outrageous but when we joke around or say something on the internet just to be funny, we have no idea who might be paying attention. Or what they might do. So many celebrities have been murdered or stalked before. Why would we think we are not a part of the problem too just because we are not doing it ourselves?
I'm not saying we should accept everyone’s mistakes or that some people don’t need to be accountable for what they have done. Things can be better and we need to find a better way to communicate that. But it’s definitely not by starting a hate blog, stalking or sending death threats.
If anyone bothered to read this and wants to talk and share your own thoughts feel free to do so!

as a visibly-jewish, neurodivergent non-passing trans woman, my relationship with kiwifarms is kind of like Picard’s relationship with The Romulans in ST:TNG
im scared they have so much intel on me, im surprised they “respect” me to the extent they do, im grateful they arent actively attacking me Right Now and worry this peace cannot last, and i ultimately look down on them for their brutality & cruelty.
meanwhile kiwifarms looks down on me for being a different species than them, but “respects” me as being One Of The More Interesting Ones Of That Species, and continues to scour the galaxy for more intel on me, some of which is inaccurate. also they refer to me with words that reflect their disdain for my species.
i think ultimately it would be dangerous of me to attempt to curry kiwifarm’s favor. their website is primarily a hatespeech & harassment site, that has literally bullied people into suicide. they see me as an entertaining plaything, not a person, and i am probably one online post or personal crisis away from becoming their torture-subject. but i do sometimes find myself wondering what their reaction will be to my online posts, mainly because they follow my online presence closer than even my actual friends & family. they talk about my work in VERY complimentary terms, which tempts me to think of them as fans, but i cannot allow myself to do that. it’s too dangerous. theyre frickin kiwifarms
i think it would probably be better if i didnt know about them. kiwifarms, if i could have one request: could u completely hide yourself from me, and only continue following my existence from where i cannot see you? i can literally google “petermobeter” and youre like the 2nd or 3rd result. if i was a member of an uncontacted tribe, and u were a group of anthropologist documentary filmmakers, id be like “hey, strange people? please move, youre scaring the fish.”

Some people’s awareness of the world online really shocks me. From thinking women’s stories don’t need to be told because “no one wants to watch that” about historic SA toward women in the entertainment industry, to anger directed to women who are scared of their first smear test & screaming “CANCER” at them in the comments like it’s necessary then claiming “well it’s facts” like that gives them the right?!
Wtf is wrong with people?!
And it’s coming FROM women. What in the Andrew Tate bullshit has gone on in your lives that you hate your fellow women so much to want to silence them and scare them with the worst outcomes?! Like chill tf out and calm yourself. Think about what your going to say before you say it and how it can come across to others.
If someone is scared of something, a comment screaming at them isn’t going to calm them down is it?! Just like pretending SA is “historic” in Hollywood so we don’t need to cover it anymore is damaging to all women not just those who have been direct victims. You don’t need to fight everyone!!
If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all.

Pulling this from my last reblog as a standalone about AMC’s Interview with the Vampire:
I think it’s unfair to conflate criticism with negativity, and really, writing about it at all is free advertising, and will most likely draw more ppl interested in whatever the discussion is about! That said, people can block my blog if they need to make fandom the experience they prefer.
I also want to remind everyone that I am against racism and homophobia and I block blogs that perpetuate those things. Sending threats and horrible things to the social media accounts of AMC, the showrunners, actors, or anyone else is horrible, please unfollow my blog if you do any of that.

deal?
If ever we’ve interacted (I was going to say mutuals but I don’t follow via tumblr but via RSS) and you get dog piled online, I will do hazmat clean up for a few days on your social media account and will even hand over something of mine in exchange for your information if that’ll make you feel safer.
I will block and delete comments, search your name and variations for subtweets/posts and off site organized harassment - You can call on me later if there’s a second or third wave and you don’t want to have to look at that.
I don’t care if you accidentally “started it” - Nobody should have to deal with an egged house and fouled porch on their own. It’s not nothing, it’s dirty work and not something you should have to do alone.
We can discuss infosec and changing accounts if it seems like you might have more targetted harassment and I can audit your old account for delicate information you’d prefer to keep private for now.
I’ve done bathroom-bedroom clean up for others and had it done for me IRL. It’s the same with online raids - I’ll let you know my schedule and if at any point I can’t handle it. Deal?

I, as a person have been greatly offended today. Within my family's religion we use zoom to stream our community's church to people who cannot attend in person. Here today, we experienced a harrassment by someone who repeatedly cussed out congregation out and continued to make more accounts even after kicking. I don't care what your religion is, I respect it, but it is WRONG to harrass a congregation of mostly elders because you do not like our religion.
