so if y’all couldn’t tell from the last couple of days… i started death note for the first time…
and look
i saw all the memes. i saw the number of fanfics. i saw all the jokes and jabs about lawlight.
i saw it. i’ve seen it.
but nothing and i mean nothing could have prepared for how
ABSOLUTELY
HORRENDOUSLY
G A Y
this fuckibg show is.
like i thought i knew, like j thought y’all were over exaggerating, but no.
the only way this show could get gayer is if L and Light openly fucked on their shared desk ONSCREEN
(cuz i know they did it off screen)

If you're defending Kit Connor but then going back and saying "wait, but it's okay to harass this unlabled person because they are CLEARLY straight" please just shut the fuck up. That's the same exact thing people were saying about Kit and the only reason you care about what happened to him now is because he happens to be queer.

hey if u guys r sad about ofmd and want another show with gay people to watch you should consider watching Deadloch. It’s really good it’s really really good uh it might get a second season if the creators decide to do that.
if you watch good omens you’ll be able to watch Deadloch they’re on the same service. Uhhhh One of the actors from ofmd is there shes one half of the main duo (the other half is played by Kate Box who’s an amazing actor and Dulcie is now one of my fav characters ever) gets to wear an open Hawaiian shirt for like 3 of the 8 episodes which is a bonus. It’s extremely gay and it’s fun and beautifully written and no queer characters die and it’s satisfying and funny and Please watch it I’m begging you please watch itPLEASE

I could get cancelled for this immediately, but does anyone else get really irritated when you see a certain subset of the queer community inserting themselves into other subsets’ issues?
Like when cis gay people think they can speak for trans folks just because “well we’re all lgbt.”
Or like gay men thinking they can make misogynistic comments about lesbians and use the word d*ke etc just because “well we’re lgbt too”.
Or (and this is a big one lately) queer women inserting themselves into conversations that are about issues specific to queer men, and acting like they have exactly as much credibility in the argument because “well we’re just as lgbt as you.”
It’s just like… yeah we’re all queer. But each individual group is their own mini community, and they all have their own things that are specific to them, and if you aren’t in that exact demographic then you don’t have the experience necessary to add your input on those topics. And if you go ahead and shove your way into the conversation anyway, then you’re like… only 5% better than a homophobe. If that.

you ever see a callout post or w/e where it's like. yeah okay when i see these (hopefully not faked) screenshots i can see why you'd interpret it the way you did. BUT this is also like the worst possible way you could read it if you don't give op any benefit of a doubt because you already decided they're awful. like sometimes someone isn't evil they're just not good at phrasing themselves and if you dedicated even 30 more seconds to reread what they said without attaching your own expectations you will likely be way less angry about it

Looking at people responding to that video of a high school circa 2002 and realizing that a lot of my demeanor and general outlook has been informed by the fact that id found a solid niche that kept people from fucking with me by the time that i was in early high school. already by then i had slid comfortably into the identity of "smart snarky person who keeps to himself but will deliver a withering take-down the moment you ask him his opinion on anything" that both classmates and teachers found enjoyable to be around. i cant really say it was masking. it was more like an optimized build capitalizing on the attributes that were already there. but also, my high school was just not a place where all that much bullying happened? it was middle school were i saw and personally experienced a whole hell of a lot more of that. to the degree that i thought movies and tv shows depicting bullying as a high school thing was like, fake

this isn't the pervasive problem people pretend it is to justify transmisogyny (especially because most of the time the person doing this is a cis man), but it is weird when you're in a "progressive" space and someone says something unironically effemiphobic because they think GNC men either don't actually exist or deserve to be insulted for doing Gender Bad which makes us inherently bad. Or both? Somehow?
