- Sweet Thing
Relationships - Agatha Harkness x Rio Vidal x Reader
Summary - Sirens weren't all that bad, instead hunted for their tails that had glimmering scales worth a high amount of value. Agatha and Rio intended to sell your tail, but soon became rather attatched
Warnings: Kidnapping (fishnapping?), spear wound, non consensual kissing (Kind of? Reader doesn't know human customs so it's a bit iffy)
A/N: Uhm- I fell in love with this prompt and this is my fav thing I've written for aaa week so far.
Sirens were creatures of the sea, brilliant ones that were meant to swim free and wild. Unlike most tales, you did not sing sailors to their death, only a few sirens chose to do that. The sun bore down on the vast ocean, not able to reach the depths where you lived, so you swam near the surface. It was a dangerous move to do so. Pirates still roamed the seas, even as far out as you were, and sirens' tails sold for a high price.
Typically, you lived in the depths where humans couldn't reach, swirling in between coral and rocks while following colorful fish. Flat areas were used as farming grounds for food. It was a perfect life, yet part of you still longed for the human world. You had never gone close to shore before, always living too far out. Not only that but your father had prevented you from contact with humans.
As you grew older, so did your defiance for your father and you had been wandering closer to the surface, going further away from home and closer to the shore. Once you had gotten close enough to hear voices. People danced along the shore in the night, sticks with a bright thing glowing off of them. From what you had heard they were torches. Humans swung their arms and feet, joyful laughter echoing as odd garments attached to them swayed with their movements.
You wished so desperately to join them.
Sirens were rumored to be able to transform into humans, tails shifting to legs, gills and fins disappearing into your skin. The odd tint of your skin would disperse, and you would look like a normal person. You never had the confidence to try it out. Humans wore these odd things, clothes, your grandma called them. Sirens didn't have clothes. You figured you would stand out too much and that was the last thing you wanted if you were trying to explore the human world.
Seagulls cawed above you as you leisurely floated near the surface, the tip of your tail peeking out. There was only a split second you had after you saw them. A large ship, its sides climbing up and up, wooden panels lined up neatly to prevent water from getting in. Large metal nozzles peaked out the side. Silver flashed through the air and then there was a piercing pain in your tail.
Yelping, you paled when you bled into the water, a sharp spear sticking out of your tail. Panic overcame you as you reached to pull it out, wincing at the sting. It had gone all the way through your tail. Scales came out with it, leaving bare skin and a large hole in your tail. Shock kept you stuck in place, staring at the gaping gap in your tail that leaked a bright red.
"Dammit Billy!" You heard a voice curse from the ship and your head snapped up, eyes widening with fear, "You weren't supposed to hit the tail."
Once again you hardly had time to react before a net was hurling at you. With your tail damaged and pain pulsing through you, you weren't able to get away as the net dropped down on you and closed all around you. A scream bubbled in your throat. There was a harsh tug and then you were dangling in the air, your blood dripping into the water and you could see shark fins circling below.
You winced as your body slammed into the ship, wood digging into your sensitive skin. Thrashing as you were dragged across the wood, you tried to break free. But your tail flapped uselessly, and your arms did nothing against the ropes. A taunting chuckle echoed behind you, and you were no longer being dragged across the wood. You stopped in your struggles for a moment, meeting eyes with a woman.
Her piercing eyes were an icy blue, framed by brown hair that fell around her face and highlighted her sharp cheekbones. Her tongue dragged over her pink lips as she crouched, one hand on her knee, and studied you.
There was nothing you could do to stop the fear that tore through your system. It overran any common sense you otherwise would've had and numbed the pain in your tail. Blood leaked onto the deck, seeping into the wood and staining it an even darker color.
Another woman stood behind the blue eyed one. This one had big brown eyes, one that was often associated with childlike innocence, but she looked anything but innocent. Her lips, a pale pink, were pulled into a smirk that made her eyes twinkle with dark joy. A knife twirled between her fingers and when your gaze caught on it your breath hitched. Sun light bounced off it, highlighting the sharp edge.
She met your eye, pausing in her fidgety movements, and held the knife up for you to see. You flinched back, trying to get away. Your eyes flickered around for an escape, searching for somewhere to go.
It was then that you noticed how many people were here, watching in silence. There were four others on board. A woman who had a pink shirt, one with red in her hair, and older woman who looked weird, and a young boy - the youngest out of all of them. His eyes were wide, and face flushed as he looked away from you, keeping his gaze
Inhaling shakily, you forced a question past your lips, "What do you want with me?" Your words were unsteady, hesitance and fear dripping from them.
"Well, we wanted your tail," the blue-eyed woman drawled, "But then Billy hit it, so you have no more use, hon."
"You’re pirates," you breathed softly. If you thought you were scared before, it was worse now. Your heart beat frantically in your chest. Humans may have portrayed sirens as these horrible creatures, luring sailors to their death for fun, but that was only some of you. Sirens told tales of pirates who murdered their friends in cold blood, laughing as the blood tainted the water and dolphins pocked at their bodies sadly. Pirates were the most brutal type of humans.
"Well, I thought that was obvious," She glanced around dramatically, her long fingers flaring around. Your tail twitched.
"She needs medical care Agatha," the boy, Billy you think, said. He made a pointed glance towards your tail which was leaking out onto the deck, a steady stream of blood. Your head was lightheaded as you propped yourself on your elbows.
"Put me back in the water and I'll be fine," you mumbled. Your father will find you. Or the fish would tell him. It didn't matter but you would rather die in the ocean then on this ship.
Agatha scoffed, her head tipping back slightly, "That's funny." She leaned closer for a brief moment, eyes slowly dragging from your face down to the gaping wound in your tail. "Billy go get some cloth and a needle with string. And what are the rest of you doing? Get back to work!" Everyone but the brown eyed brunette left, Billy scurrying away to get whatever she ordered.
With a small nod from Agatha, the other woman stepped forward, her smirk widening as she twirled her knife around. You flinched when she bent down, prepared for more pain. Except she only cut through the rope and let it fall to the floor.
"She's skittish," She said, glancing at Agatha with some sort of emotion gleaming in her eyes, "I like it."
Billy came back a moment later, carrying a bundle of cloth in his hand with a needle and string in the other. He averted his eyes towards the ground as he got closer. The shiny metal caught your eyes, and they widened in more fear. You tried to scramble back, no longer tangled by the rope, but it did little use when Agatha grabbed the tip of your tail and yanked you back. A yelp escaped your lips as she held you firmly in place, despite your frantic squirming.
"Hold still," she snapped. Her hands were surprisingly tender as they pressed the cloth onto your wound, the white material becoming red quickly. The other woman knelt by your head, her hands held out placatingly before she pressed down on your shoulders, forcing you to lay down. Her eyes lingered on your chest for a moment, something dark in her eyes.
"How does your healing work?" Her words were soft, not matching the mischievous glint in her eyes.
You gasped when Agatha pressed down on the wound, your tail flicking up, "Uhm- like normal?"
You watched as Agatha raised an unimpressed eyebrow as she wiped the blood on your tail, the cloth occasionally catching on your scales. They shimmered under the sunlight, and you were suddenly aware of how hot it was up here. It was like you were being held above a heat vent, the water bubbling and searing your skin. Your skin and scales were drying out.
Baring your teeth, you hissed when Agatha swiped through the wound, her towel collecting blood and giving you a clearer view. A hand cupped your chin, tilting your head up and forcing your mouth open. An offended sound left your throat as the brown eyed woman examined your mouth. She squeezed your cheeks and leant closer.
Their hands were all over you, on your tail, your face - it was too much. You shoved at the woman holding your face, although that did nothing but make her tighten her grip and grin wildly. Her eyes were ablaze with delight as she tugged your face close.
"Don't do that," her voice was light, almost like a song, "Be nice."
Agatha scoffed from her spot at your tail, glancing up with a small smile. You would snarl at her if you could, but the other woman still held you tightly. Her grip was bruising against your face and her nails dug into your skin. She hummed as she twisted you, giving her different angles of your fangs that protruded like spikes from your gums.
It was a defense mechanism that ran in your specific genes, but it did nothing to help you now. Finally, she let you go, her fingers uncurling from your cheeks, but her eyes never left your face.
"Can you have stitches?" Agatha was threading the string through the needle as she asked the question, sitting back on her shins.
You blinked, wide eyed and confused, "Those are?"
"I'll take that as a no," she sighed, chewing on her lower lip, "How do you heal?"
"I've never-" you shrugged. Pain throbbed from your tail, worse than anything you had ever felt. You had gotten small nicks and cuts before. "Nothing has been this bad."
Agatha threw the needle onto the ground, "Well that's helpful." She glared at you as if it was your fault that you had been speared through your tail. You returned her harsh look.
"Water," you croaked, your throat suddenly dry. The two women exchanged a glance before the unknown one stood, her boots clicking on the floor. Biting pain coursed through your veins, and you wished it would stop. The harsh sun beating down didn't help as you lacked the familiar comfort of the sea. A moment later the other woman returned, a bucket in her hands before she splashed it all over your tail. It wasn't graceful or much but soothed the ache of the puncture.
Agatha leaned past your tail, cupping your chin in her face with a sick grin, "I think I'll keep you."
^____________^
A few day cycles in you figured out how to turn into your human form, your tails becoming legs and gills vanishing. The only thing that remained was your sharp teeth. It was awkward at first, stumbling around as you tried to figure out how to walk. They made it look so easy and Agatha and Rio laughed as you fell flat on your face.
The two had dressed you in their clothes. It felt restricting to be confined by such human things and you hated it, but apparently that was what was expected by humans. You were stuck in their room, stuck to stare longingly out into the sea as you watched the waves crash up against the side of the boat, but they never let you out. If you were let out, you were bolt in an instant and jump into the sea.
Billy brought you food on a tray with a sympathetic smile and a soothing voice. He offered empathy, a listening ear, which you turned down at first. Then days turned into more and you were still stuck in the room. You took up Billy's offer to talk when the days began to become longer and longer, drawing out as if they would never end.
Agatha and Rio would return at night, snuggling up in their bed as you slept on one parallel to theirs. Once you had woken up to the bed creaking and obscene moans being drawn out. You had flipped over, the blanket pulled up to your shoulder, as you sat still as a rock in bed. After casually mentioning it to Billy when he came to see you, he turned bright red and spluttered before explaining it was the way humans reproduced. You decided not to question it more after that.
Snapping you out of your thoughts, the door creaked open, Agatha walking in. Rio trailed behind with her hands shoved casually in her pockets. Per usual, you scrambled back as far as possible on your bed, hissing. Agatha rolled her eyes. She sat on the edge of the bed, eyes scanning over you in a way you would never understand. It was as if she was trying to see inside of you. She scooched closer and you bared your teeth.
Lips curling in annoyance, Agatha's hand shot forward, grabbing your chin. There was a split second before she had a tool in her hand, pliers if you remembered correctly, and they were latched tight onto your teeth.
She leaned in close, her eyes narrowed, "I told you to stop that," her voice was low, a warning, "I will give you one more chance before I yank your teeth out, understand?"
Rio was smirking behind her when you glanced back, your cheeks flushed a dark red. Agatha raised a brow.
"Understood?"
You huffed but nodded the best you could with her firm grip on you. Her nails dug into your skin one more time before she let go with a satisfied smirk. Closing your mouth, you licked your lips and sat back, face red as the tomatoes Billy showed you how to juggle with once. Agatha twirled the pliers in her fingers before shoving them into her pocket.
"How would you like to leave this room?" Agatha's words sent a jolt of joy through you, and you perked up, pointed ears alert and ready to hear what she had to say. She smiled at your excitement, "Hang on pretty girl, there's a couple things first. If you try to run, I will lock you back up in this room again. You are to stay by my side. Do not make me tie you up like a dog."
You tilted your head, blinking at her. What was a dog? Although being tied up did not sound like fun, after a moment you reluctantly nodded. There was hardly a moment before Rio's hand was latched onto your forearm and she was dragging you out. You stumbled over your own two feet, still not used to without a fin, and let Rio drag you along. Not that you had a choice.
You glanced back at Agatha for help, but the woman was just watching in amusement, eyes twinkling brightly.
"Alright," Rio said softly, shoving a door open, "Here's the sun."
Blinking, you took in the sunlight, hand coming up to shield your eyes. It shone down brightly, a harsh heat compared to the cool of the bedroom. While the coolness reminded you of the depths of the ocean, it was nice to see the sun again. You tilted your face up, closing your eyes and letting the heat seep into your skin. You hardly noticed Rio's grip on your arm, or the way it loosened, and she stood watching you with a soft smile.
"Y/N!" Billy's loud voice interrupted your peace, and your eyes snapped open. He was running towards you, shirt untucked and flapping in the slight wind like his fluffy black hair.
You forced a smile onto your lips after a nervous glance at Rio, "Hey Billy."
He grabbed your hand, tearing you away from Rio. You were partially glad for the distance from the woman, but a part of you wanted to be near her. Billy dragged you up the stairs, once again tripping over your own two feet. It was a miracle that they managed to stay on them for the whole day.
The sea splashed against the side of the boat, a consistent and steady sound that made you long for the sea even more. That deep yearning inside of you arose again, even stronger than before. Your eyes latched onto the waves, imagining yourself in them. You would no longer have legs - you would have a fin and gills again and the wet feeling of the water on your skin.
The fish circling around you, the water cool and comforting. A little bit of sun shining through the blue surface when you came up. Your family's faces were slowly fading from your mind, but you still longed to be with them again.
You didn't realize that since you stopped so did Billy, his hand still in yours as he stared at you.
"I'm sorry," he whispered, "You don't deserve this."
You shrugged. Maybe you did deserve it. Even after hundreds of lectures from your father, you still chose to push your luck. The thrill of adrenaline you got made it all worth it. If you had just listened, then this never would have happened.
"Billy," Agatha's voice cut through the air, "I'll take her from here."
Billy smiled sheepishly, directing one to you with a deeper meaning, before he scurried off. Agatha gave him an affectionate glance before she turned her eyes to you, an unamused look in them.
"Don't let Billy drag you around." She muttered it like it was a piece of advice, but it sounded more like a command. You rolled your eyes at her and curled your lips in defiance. Agatha narrowed her eyes and grabbed you by the arm. "Watch the attitude."
And once again you were tempted to respond with some sort of snark but refrained in exchange for walking away and further up the deck. The wind blew your hair in your face and whipped against your skin. It wasn't so different from the underwater currents and made you miss home even more. Agatha trailed behind you, although you could hear a second set of footsteps that told you Rio was there too.
You wandered up the front of the ship and stared down into the water. It would be so easy to jump.
A hand clamped down your shoulder and hot breath hovered by your ear, "You gonna jump?" Rio lips brushed against your cheekbone as she leaned even closer, and you could feel her chest press up against your back. A part of you wanted to pull away from her touch, leap into the water and enjoy the comforting embrace, but something held you there. It wasn't Rio's hand, nor Agatha's piercing gaze.
Even as you tried to pick your feet up off the wooden deck, you failed. It was as if you were stuck in place. Frustration boiled in your stomach as time passed on and your brows furrowed.
The waves crashed against the ship, seemingly more aggressive in tune to your emotions. Tears of resentment pooled in your eyes and your fists clenched.
"Why?" you croaked, "Why not just let me go?"
Rio's lip teased the column of your throat, and you shrugged her off while your heart pounded in your chest. You could practically feel her smirk even though you couldn't see her. The movement of her lips felt personal although you didn't know why, it felt as if it meant more, but you didn't know why. Her arms slowly circled around your waist, tugging you even closer and trapping you.
"Because you're too sweet to let go," she whispered against your skin. Your lip wobbled as she squeezed you tight and kept her palms flat against your stomach. Dolphins surfaced, their fins peeking through the top of the water as they leapt and dived happily. It irked you that you couldn't be there with them. You used to swim with dolphins every chance you got, swerving through you their pods like an obstacle course.
The thought only made your eyes burn further and your heart tighten.
"I want to go home."
You hated how broken your voice sounded, how cracked it was. Desperation leaked through as you felt a tear fall. Another human weakness. It trailed down your cheek and you felt Agatha's hands cup your face, turning you towards her. Blue eyes, shimmering with desire, met yours. Except hers weren’t filled with tears. Agatha’s hands were so gentle on your face, kinder than she should be.
Her thumb wiped away the fallen tear with a soft smile, one that almost hid the sharp look in her eyes, "This is your home."

your most recent fic has me rolling over this TFA concept where like. OP thinks of himself as very plain and unremarkable (even though we, the audience, have eyes and can clearly see he’s hotter than 90% of cybertron’s population) whereas Meg takes one look at him and is like “you look like a fucking blow-up doll. what the fuck. I’m almost offended the autobots would devise such a blatant attempt to seduce me”
AAA thank you so much for reading and enjoying Megatron's Espionage Kink!! I know it's a theory/hc that relies on either 1) oppy not knowing what a mirror is 2) autobots having diabolical standards of conventional attractiveness, but I love the idea of oppy just. not knowing he's a complete and total bombshell. he's basically identical to any other normal Autobot that rolled off the assembly line, sure even fellow autobots joke about his lips a lot, but they're just fucking around and teasing him surely!
But megatron has Optics and he uses them to fully drink in this visage of pure seduction that would only be written about in the most indulgent filthy smutpads, look at his WAIST?! THOSE LEGS?! HIS PLUSH LIPS MADE FOR ORAL?? and though megatron usually jeers at the bright and clashing colors of autobots, he's got to admit the red and blue and silver (and that sinful yellow on his pelvic plating/helm/etc). (I just looked at a pic of cybertronian oppy again and like HIS HIPS HAVE HANDLES??? I've seen amazing posts about TFA meg assuming he stumbled onto a bang bus when he crashed the autobot ship, cause of how sexy the autobots on board are, and this is exactly what makes it so believable)

But like I was saying I really do love meg assuming oppy Was Made To Distract/Placate Him because how else could a bot perfectly to his tastes be travelling around the galaxy? If he wasn't sent to seduce megatron, this walking talking (and fighting, those sleazy autobots really put effort into making this bot appeal) blowup doll would be in the most elite brothel on cybertron.
And I think "canon" tfa meg is too busy trying to retake cybertron and destroy the autobots to stop his evildoing to play with an Autobot, even if they are the hottest bot he's ever laid eyes upon, but I love to imagine that "what if?" what if meg Did pull out the stops to launch a counter-assault (seduce oppy and fuck him stupid).
(bonus semi-relevant shitpost copy pasted from my tf doc under the cut)
Megatron does NOT want to fuck Optimus Prime. It does not matter that this autobot was clearly designed upon Orion Pax, aka the civilian that Megatron has always found most aesthetically pleasing. However, even Orion was a rather conservatively designed bot. Optimus Prime has a large chest and tiny waist and strong arms and long legs and full kissable lips. All of these are further insults, so clearly designed for interface appeal that Megatron must turn his nose up for the sake of his pride. "Do they all think I have no self control? Is this Autobot some sort of peace offering or an attempt to distract me from retaking Cybertron?"
So yes. On some level, Megatron wants to frag that little autobot until he breaks. Fuck the bolts right off his hips. Turn him into a quivering fluid-drenched pile of loosely assembled truck parts. But he is wise and old enough to know that giving in would be a trap, an elaborate trap designed by Autobots who have finally realized that no tactic is too dirty, even if the prudes have to face the unspeakable horror of acknowledging Interfacing Exists.
Whether this is true or not doesn't matter. The f***toy look could simply be what's "in" for Autobots. Look at Bee and Bulkhead & Sentinel and Elita-1.
Optimus has no idea about Megatron's cute little theory and would strip him down for spare parts starting with his spike if he was ever to voice it to him. It would get Optimus charged up, Megatron admitting he considers Optimus so attractive that it must be an autobot plot, but he can and will ignore that too.
Because Optimus Prime does NOT want to fuck Megatron either. This is just Primus's way of punishing him for harmless private 'facing fantasies half a million years ago. It's a bit overboard as a punishment, however. Optimus wasn't even thinking about that stupid giant ancient evil leader of the Decepticons, just imagining a generic "kind of sweet and romantic in a brusque war frame way" faceless Decepticon soldier above him. Megatron? For all his great manipulation skills and that platinum glossa, the mech couldn't charm the panel off a desperate and overcharged speedster in heat.
There is No romance in the giant servos that almost choked Optimus offline and held him around the waist with ease and wrapped him up in his own grapplers. And those tastes of brutality and being overpowered do NOT excite Optimus even more.

Spending time alone with you has learned to be one of Optimus' most treasured past times. But as much as it pains him, relaxing with you is a rare treat. The usual business of the base either keeps him up all night, or he genuinely has no time. However, he tries his best to make the most of it, whether he's relaxing with you, cuddling you, or with his head glued between your inner thighs.
Like right now. It was nearing two AM. Optimus has you sprawled out on your shared berth, his face pressed against your aching heat, finally finding sweet relief from his built-up arousal. It's been too fragging long since his face was buried in you. He misses it, and if Optimus had a choice, he would sacrifice everything he's worked for to keep you bare before him.
Two hours. Optimus had been lazily lapping at you for two hours now. At one point, his helm had lulled to the side to rest against your right inner thigh to not strain his neck. His glossa grows tired, and his energon roars through his hot frame.
His stamina is almost depleted compared to when he initially delved into your drenched pussy. Despite this, Optimus still has the capacity to tightly grip your hips, gently massaging them as you lie still for him. He is weary, yet he perseveres, ignoring his aching joints and pulsing spike painfully pressed against the berth because tonight is about you. He will make up for all those lonely nights you've spent in berth alone in one lengthy oral session.
It's very often that when Optimus gives you oral, his mind feels like he's been transported to a higher plane of existence, one where he has no responsibilities or obligations to lead a team, just the mind-numbing taste of you. It makes him dizzy and light-headed, similar to the buzz he gets when he has a high grade or two, but Optimus prefers revelling in you instead to get his high.
As ever patient as you are with your star-crossed lover, your hips still gently roll and shudder involuntarily against his glossa, and Optimus fucking loves it. He loves your soft cries when he sucks on your clit, and he loves when you clamp your legs around his helm when your orgasm is merely within reach. But he won't let you finish just yet, not when he's yet to relish and thoroughly drown himself in your sticky sweet.
His warm optics remain lazily trained on your face, only fluttering close when you squeeze his helm. The pressure from your thighs only heightens his hunger, a carnal desire to swallow every drop of your aphrodisiac juices.
"Mmmmm," You mewl, sweaty palms digging into the berth, "Fuck, I missed this… why don't we do this - aah - more often, baby…."
Optimus doesn't respond, and he can't because his processor is so intoxicated and aroused that he can't even form a single coherent sentence. It's quite ironic, he thinks. A mech of his nature that is so poised and articulate in his vocable is conned by his own desperate need to surrender his intake to his humans' essence.
"Mmmffh," He purrs into your heat, parting your sensitive lips with his glossa, lazily swirling around your bud before pressing a gentle kiss against it. He can't help but grind his spike into the berth below at your whimpers, servos kneading into your soft flesh, "More… Primus, I need more…."
You titter breathlessly, snaking a hand to the top of his helm to lightly press his face further into your pulsing heat, and Optimus delightfully grunts. You shiver, biting back a moan at the vibrations, "Go ahead, hun, you've got me for the rest of the night."
Optimus may need to blow a hole into the sun to prevent it from rising, since one night will never be enough to satisfy his thirst for you.

,,, hello im here again with another idea JSJSJJDJSJJD it came to me in a Dream you could say. ill take u up on the inbox cookie offer AJSHSJHSJ
SO I WAS THINKIN . after a really fun first date with the ghouls, mc texts them about how much fun she had and how she can't wait to go out with the ghoul again even though she was SUPER NERVOUS about going out with him at first :(( nd it's super cute and pining all over the place
as for who to write this with you can pick whoever T0T i really just want u to have fun with the ideas i throw at u all the time nd i hope you aren't stressed out <3
take care of yourself amidst the sea of suggestions im sure you have acquired ^^; have a good day YOURE THE BEST as always C:
nd like seriously 1000% serious if you have any fic suggestions please lmk i NEED to write something in return for you YOUVE WRITTEN SO MUCH FOR ME I NEED TO RETURN THE FAVOR SOMEHOW
OKAY THANK YOU YOU ARE THE BACKBONE OF THIS FANDOM!!!!!
Aaa that's a super cute idea! And definitely something I'd like to write for every ghoul hehe. Your suggestions never disappoint (*^3^)/~♡ Also! unless you ask for someone else specifically I'm always going to include Ritsu in your requests!! That's like non-debatable! And don't mind me feeling invited to your inbox! I'm definitely going to appear there soon (≧▽≦)
When you text the ghouls after your first date
[Haku, Ritsu, Tohma, Sho, Rui]
Haku is relieved when he receives the message from you. He was hoping he didn't come across as too pushy during your first date. Well... Zenji did give him a whole talk about how he should and shouldn't behave after all so maybe that helped in the end. His confidence skyrockets when you let him know you want to see him again. Though he did have to fight the urge to add "my bedroom, that is" after his last message. I guess some 'habits' die hard.

If Ritsu appeared calm and collected, that's because he had a whole preparation routine as well as calculations on how much of a success the date will be. Everything was meticulously prepared, so he's feeling accomplished after seeing the message from you. Your satisfaction is all that mattered to him after all. If you notice him tripping over his words in the texts, just go along with it! That's just his stress catching up to him. He's still just a ghoul after all.

Tohma is very perceptive so he did notice you appeared to be a bit stressed. And he regrets not asking you about the reason. He was hoping it wasn't because you didn't feel comfortable around him. That's why he smiles when he sees your message. Seems like his worries were unnecessary after all. You letting him know that you want to see him again is a clear signal - things are going the right way. He might go just a liiiittle bit overboard and prepare very fancy dates after the first one. So be prepared to be amazed.

Sho was feeling a bit nervous during the date but he made sure to keep it under control. All because of some stupid things Leo just had to say... That guy really knows how to plant the seed of uncertainty. The thoughts finally disperse after your text, and he can let out a breath of relief. He's happy to know you really enjoyed yourself. Even more when you ask to see him again. Now he's going to think about where to take you next. But he's definitely not telling Leo about that.

Rui is feeling very optimistic after the date. Well he's just doing his best to drown out his worries to be honest but it still counts alright? There's no way you didn't enjoy a date with him, right? His ego gets a nice boost when he gets your text. Time to get cocky! He just gets super excited but I can't blame him. He's finally dating the girl he chased so long after! And he's going to make sure each date is better than the previous one. You're not going to feel bored with this guy.

Written for the @steddiemicrofic November challenge.
There's Just One Who Could Make Me Stay
November Prompt: Guard | Word Count: 532 | Rating: T | CW: Language | Tags: Future Fic, Eddie Munson Lives, Returning Home, Reconnecting, Pre-Steddie
Steve stands along the baseline. The kids on the court look way younger than he remembers being at their age. Of course, he was fighting monsters, and that ages a man.
He's part of the old guard.
Problem is, he still feels young. Forty-eight isn't old, but thirty years is a long time to be out of high school.
Tommy greeted him with excitement earlier. The jagged edges of their friendship smoothed over after years. King Steve resurrected, for one night only. Steve played along. He was happy to see him, but Steve definitely hasn't forgotten.
Lucas, Steve actually was happy to see. That championship will always be tainted, the last one Hawkins ever won. But Lucas deserved to be the master of ceremonies, the cutter of ribbons.
The new gym is dedicated, and it's weird to stand where the demolished old one stood, now long gone. Like so many things in Hawkins. It's not the town he grew up in, that's for damn sure.
None of them stayed, they fled, one-by-one.
Outside, Steve sees his rental car tire is flat. The spare? Mostly flat.
Goddamnit.
He digs in his wallet and finds his AAA card, and expects to be told that it'll be an hour or two. But there's surprisingly a local shop that covers AAA calls now, and they've dispatched them out.
Awesome. Steve hops up on the trunk of the car and watches the last of the crowd disperse.
He hears the tow truck before he sees it.
Sees the dark head of long hair fly upwards when the guy jumps out, both boots hitting the ground with a heavy thud.
"Flat tire?" the guy hollers as he's pulling open the toolbox along the bed.
Steve stills.
"Eddie?"
And the head whips towards him, familiar, even if it's been nearly thirty years.
"Steve Harrington can't change a tire?" voice teasing, but delighted.
Steve laughs, crossing the distance.
"Spare is flat, too. How the hell are you? I didn't know you were back in town," Steve says, barreling forward, pulling Eddie off his feet.
It's been a long fucking time.
"Yeah, enough of the old assholes have croaked that most of the townsfolk don't even remember my whole satanic murder spree," Eddie says dryly, hugging him back. "Wayne retired, and I moved home to keep him retired."
"You should have called. I'd have come to see you."
Helping pack Eddie up, only half-healed from his wounds, had been Steve's biggest what if in life. Eddie, the first to go.
Now, here he is.
Eddie smiles, face close, "I figured you had a whole life going."
"Divorced. Three times," Steve says, and Eddie laughs. There are wrinkles around his eyes, but he looks good. Really happy.
"Jesus Christ, Harrington. Don't you know the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over-and-over, expecting different results?"
"Yeah, yeah," Steve jaws back. And it's nice, the banter. He's missed it.
They get down on the ground at the tire together. AAA might be paying Eddie to change it, but Steve can fucking help.
Tire changed, hands dirty, Steve looks at Eddie, "You wanna grab a beer? I'll buy."
"Hell yeah you will, Harrington."

Agatha All Along deep dive: episode 9 part 5
(Wandavision entries: [1][2][3])
(AAA entries: ep1 [1][2][3][4] ep2 [1][2][3][4] ep3 [1][2][3] ep4 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][+1] ep5 [1][2][3][4][5] ep6 [1][2][3] ep7 [1][2][3][4][5][6] ep8 [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] ep9 [1][2][3][4][5][6])
question for you: it that only a reflection from set lights, or did agatha have tears in her eyes?
because, well, this is agatha. she's putting on a show, so you know that she's not as confident as she wants to appear. I imagine that suddenly turning into a ghost is not an easy adjustment. super interesting from a nerdy scholary prospective, but psychologically?? idk
billy, as usual, has to beg her to PLEASE BE SERIOUS FR
I toOK A calCULateD RiSK
whatever you say you big loser
then she demonstrates being a ghost by trying to slap billy. it's scientific and not ridiculous at all
at long last, and very, very late in the game she explains the nature of the Road to billy - and notice how she's still not able to be completely honest, despite all the previous moments they shared. the song means the world to her, but she's not ready to admit that yet.
the Road was very very very much real, and all the deaths that happened do count
I'll die on the hill that billy is a good person at heart. the tower, the potential for tragedy and destruction, is just that, a potential that the people in his life - the kaplans, eddie, the coven and yes, even agatha - are helping keep unfulfilled.
agatha shakes her head, gently, carefully. and we can see there has been some growth here: the first time billy supposedly killed someone she went on a whole speech about how Killing Makes You a Survivor Actually, a speech that was more about her than him. she's at least considering his feelings now
and btw agatha's "death" not being final like the others' doesn't cheapen the message at all. these are shows about dealing with / accepting mortality, and that is a journey agatha has just started. she (somehow, crying and screaming and flying by the seat of her pants) cheated death and will get herself a new body, and that's just one step forward and two steps back on her way to learn to finally stop running.
remember when nicky was upset about killing witches and agatha avoided the subject by singing a song to him, because she didn't know how to relieve a child of the guilt that was hers and only hers? she is trying now. she sees how this is devastating billy and she (badly) tries to absolve him. she is the one who lured the coven into a trap, who didn't disclose the nature of the Road, who very much killed alice.
and mark my words: she knows who sharon is, she absolutely remembers her name. I think she feels the most guilty about killing sharon, because with alice it was kind of an accident, but she went out of her way to doom this poor little lady, and she's been distancing herself from her with callous jokes since the beginning.
look at her face. this is Empathy. I've talked a lot about how for agatha it's easier to feel empathy for people with similar stories and backgrounds to hers. she felt it for wanda and ran from it. billy has the added quality of being perfect son material (I'll get to that in a minute) and right now? she knows what he's going through. she was once a girl born with the power to kill people, a power she didn't know how to stop, and it ruined her life and doomed everyone who crossed her path.
and she's still trying to have her cake and eat it too! consoling billy while still keeping her "whatever I don't care anyway" fake vibes. I'd say that she's matured a little, sure! from toddler to at least first grader. she even dares to roll her eyes when mentioning jen, this actual piece of ghostly turd.
please please please let jen come back in a marvel property that doesn't suck / hopefully written by jac and her team. please please please let us see what she does next
"should I go check on how agatha and billy are doing? nope screw them bye bye losers omw to rebuild my empire!" *nyoooooom*
(I don't know what I'd like to see more, jen becoming a force for good right away or still on the road to recovery, clashing heads with agatha.)
agatha takes a deep breath (can ghosts actually breathe tho) and gives billy a speech reminiscent of what she told nicky all those years ago. if you want to survive, get used to this feeling. we are supposed to read this interaction with the added context of her relationship with her own son (hence the callback). so why does agatha gives billy the nicky treatment now?
I think billy is all that agatha hoped and wanted nicky to be - a partner in crime who can keep up with her intelligence and sense of humor, a powerful witch she can pass her knowledge to, and a son who will love her and stick by her side no matter what. billy is the whole package, from the very beginning she couldn't see him as just the carrier of the very power she needed to bring nicky back; another hunger took over, the hunger to claim him and raise him as her own.
which brings us to the crucial question: why does agatha want a son? why did she have nicky in the first place? the answer, in true agatha fashion, is selfish, flawed, tragic, human. she wanted to fix her own childhood. she wanted to raise a version of herself who had all the love and support of a mother. and so she made sure that nicky had what she never had, including books and lessons to learn magic from. she tried to make him immune to life's heartbreaks - get used to this feeling, like she never could (because she never managed to make her own heart impervious, she only hid it away and tried to ignore it.) she essentially imagined her child as a a mini-me who committed all the same atrocities with no guilt or remorse and the added bonus of a mother cheerleading them on. another cheat sheet, a way to fix herself without actually working on her issues.
except nicky wasn't exactly what she had expected. he didn't like killing witches. instead of a talent for magic, he showed a talent for music and, credit where credit's due, agatha encouraged and nurtured it. when nicky died, agatha was on her way to accept that he was his own wonderful person and that being a parent is an exercise in selflessness. despite all her mistakes, she did one fundamental thing right: she loved nicky so freaking much, and was genuinely loved in return. who knows what could have happened if they were allowed to continue on that path.
billy is also very much his own person (not to mention almost and adult) so he simply won't let agatha project her issues all over him. (agatha is like, "challenge accepted.")
her love for billy is not in question, but now she has to be selfless and admit he doesn't exactly need mentoring in serial killing. what did billy need from the Road after all? it wasn't power. it was a sense of identity, a community, help in finding himself and his brother. agatha knows this perfectly, she's just *gestures in her general direction* like that.

Witte Solstice - Chapter 31

Cover art by @leespinoodle.
Fic written by me (enchantedchocolatebars) and @leespinoodle.
Summary: It's winter in the Boiling Isles, and Caleb prepares to celebrate the solstice with his wife, his friends… and hopefully, with Beardo Philip! Philip swears he'll never partake in the satanic holidays of those demonic witches. But when Caleb invites him over for the solstice… maybe he'll find himself making an exception.
Ao3 version
(AAA, LAST CHAPTER!! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS STORY IS GOING TO BE OVER AFTER THIS!!! 😭 😭 😭 Thank you to everyone who took the time to read it, and a special thanks to @leespinoodle for being my companion throughout this writing journey! I highly recommend checking out their works since they're a really talented writer. This story, in particular, will always mean a lot to me since it's my first ever completed collaborative fic with a friend. I'll always go back and reread it whenever I can. But anyway, yeah! Hope everyone has a Happy New Year + a flourishing 2025! I'm defo going to be taking a small break after this (TIRED), but expect to see more fics, fic requests, headcanons, written works, etc. from me in the future. I'LL ALSO BE GETTING TO THE ASKS IN MY INBOX!)
Enjoy!
Soft golden light arose in the sky the next morning as Beardo Philip gently stirred in his sleep.
When he awoke, he let out a longish yawn, sitting up in bed to stretch his arms.
His blue eyes soon began to survey the spare room he was in, recalling a few of the events from yesterday.
Philip remembers having spoken to Caleb, as well as being led into this room after their talk.
Fables such as "The Ant and the Grasshopper" and "The Lion and the Mouse" were also fresh in his mind... for some odd reason.
Slipping out of the quilt that covered him, Philip headed to the door.
...
Caleb sat at the kitchen table, nursing a hot whiskey tonic. He looked up as Philip stepped out of the spare room. "Good morning," he said softly. "How are you feeling? I'd imagine you have quite the headache."
The second Caleb said that, Philip felt the pain in his head return.
"Ugh, don't remind me...," he calmly groaned, taking a seat at the table. "I'm fine, by the way. Slept fairly well. You?"
"I barely slept a wink," Caleb admitted. "The last of the guests left shortly after dawn, so I just laid down for a bit before getting up to make myself a tonic. Would you like one?"
Philip gave a slow, restful nod. "A tonic sounds fine. Is it feasible for you to make tea as well?" he requested.
"Of course." Caleb stood to set a kettle on the stove. "Anything to eat? We have bread and pottage from yesterday's supper."
"I'll have bread," Philip calmly spoke to Caleb as he tried piecing together the sober apology he was planning on making to the elder.
In his mind, it was long overdue.
Once the tea and tonic were done, Caleb brought them over to the table, along with a loaf of bread and a knife. "Here you are. Something on your mind?"
"Thank you." With breakfast now in his possession, Philip took hold of the wooden teacup, curling his fingers around the handle as he brought it to his lips, blowing the steam that arose from the liquid.
After a long sip, he released a breath.
The tea was black and plain, just how he liked it.
He set the cup down.
Philip was unprepared for Caleb's question.
It was evident to the elder that there was something on his mind.
"Hm?!" Philip went, quickly shifting his gaze to his teacup as he saw his reflection ripple through the liquid like little waves until it stilled.
He soon sighed, looking up at Caleb with regretful eyes.
"It's just..." Philip sighed once more. "I'm… I'm sorry, Caleb. For yesterday. I... very much regret not making a genuine arrival to your party. And..." Philip drew a long, deep breath and let it out.
"... I apologize for not visiting you often. I know that Yule is over, but I had a gift that I wanted to give you. I'm not sure if it'll mean much now."
"A gift? You didn't have to bring me a gift. You know that spending time together would have been enough of a gift for me," Caleb said, sitting back down.
Philip nodded. "I understand. However, I still wish to give you what I made. It's something I know you'll find fetching. View it as a humble apology gift from me to you. Would you mind opening your hands up?"
Caleb tilted his head questioningly but held out his hands.
Reaching a hand into his pocket, Philip pulled out his gift and placed it into Caleb's hands.
Caleb held a cute, delicately painted carving of a small yellow duckling with an orange bill and black eyes that had white pupils within his palms.
The bill was meticulously crafted to make the duck look cheerful.
As a small gag, the duck's lively aura is complimented by a single squeaky noise that acts as a quack.
Caleb gently cradled the wooden duckling in his hands, marveling at the craftsmanship. He smiled softly. "Thank you, Philip. It's lovely."
With closed eyes, Philip returned Caleb's expression as he felt the heavy burden of shame and regret that he once felt lifted from his back by his brother's smile. "You're quite welcome." He soon opened his eyes.
"Also, Caleb, if it's not too much trouble, could you let your cardinal know that I offer my deepest apologies to him? Admittingly, I wasn't the kindest to young Pancake the other day."
"That's not his... Alright, I'll let him know," Caleb said.
…
After breakfast had concluded, Beardo Philip was ready to return to his cave.
He smiled a small, somewhat gloomy smile.
"I... guess this is goodbye then...," Philip spoke as he sighed, his tone soft and tender as he turned to face Caleb while standing near the front door, now dressed in his blue coat.
The brunette did his best to avoid sounding too down about his departure.
Caleb reached out to pull Philip into a hug. "Remember, you're always welcome here. Don't be a stranger, now."
Philip's smile went soft as he hugged his brother back, happy to be in his caring and kind embrace. "I'll make sure to remember that, Caleb Clawthorne."

Can you do wanderer/scaramouche or xiao x reader who is an animal archon!
Literally animals will be following reader EVERYWHERE and all of the animals trust her!
It's ok if you don't do it Ofc❤
Aaa my first ask! I've never written characterization for Scara before but I'll see what I can do :D
Scenario: You're the animal archon, constantly being followed by animals
Characters: Xiao, the Wanderer
Content: Fluff, Reader's gender isn't specified
Xiao:
Would keep his distance at first. Very worried that his karmic debt would hurt them
I always hc'ed Xiao to have bird-like traits or behaviors so I feel like he'd be subconsciously drawn to you as well
Either because he feels safe around you (the reason why most small animals seem to seek you out) or because he feels a need to protect you (the reason why larger animals gravitate toward you). His bird instincts and his warrior instincts contradict but either way he'd feel a pull towards you
Since you're an archon that means you're powerful enough to resist and maybe even counter his corruption (think like Venti playing music and the sound stopping Xiao from losing his mind).
Take him by the hand and reassure him that it's going to be okay, that you're not going to let the corruption affect any of the animals, that he's safe and welcome here.
The dogs and boars will look at the yaksha warily. It's not their fault -- they can sense the corruption and instinctively feel uneasy. Reassure them and they'll trust your judgement
He would watch in quiet fascination as a small finch approaches, allowing you to scoop it up in your nurturing hands
He'd freeze up as you reach out for his hand but he trusts you, letting you coax the little bird into his gloved hands
He would remain deathly still, not wanting to disturb the creature as it nestles against the worn leather of his gloves, fluffing up its feathers in satisfaction
Every once in a while on your travels, you'll be visited by a suspiciously familiar teal colored bird. It doesn't sing or chirp like the other birds. Instead, it sits itself in a nearby perch, as if watching over you and your animal friends almost protectively like you were its own flock
You sense its adeptal energy but you don't say anything about it
Sometimes you can coax it to come closer, though it always tries to keep some distance from the other animals for some reason.
Due to your status and powers as an archon, very few monsters ever approach close enough to bother you to begin with but whenever the teal finch is in the vicinity, it's like there aren't any monsters in sight. Almost as if its presence was repelling them...
Wanderer:
Wait. You're an archon? Yikes
Jk if this is Hat Guy and not the Balladeer, he probably doesn't care (or isn't AS bothered) that you're a godly entity. Besides, if he causes trouble, Aunt Buer will make him apologize anyway...
The first time you arrive in Sumeru (It's been a couple hundred years since you visited due to trying to avoid the bouts of Withering caused by the Cataclysm. You didn't want animals following you there and getting sick) you see a small little creature with a :] face approaching you. Well, at first you don't identify what it is because it's covered by what looks like a big hat
it places the hat in front of you and makes a bouncing motion, as if in greeting
Not long after the little creature sets down its "offering" to you, you hear footsteps that give way to the arrival of a very angry looking puppet.
The rishboland tigers laying down beside you give a small warning growl and the little shroomboars huddle behind you for protection from this new person.
At first he thinks you're just a mortal and asks what the tell you think you're doing sitting out in the wilderness contracting diseases from wild animals (which earns another growl from the rishboland tiger that was enjoying a nice nap resting its head in your lap)
But then he'd sense that you're an archon and give you a look but not say anything
You'd have to convince the Aranara (or the "forest gremlin", as the Wanderer put it) to return the hat back to him
"Is this your friend?" You ask, amused, after coaxing the fairy-like creature to release the hat.
"Hardly." The Wanderer crosses his arms, eyes flashing with contempt. "Little menace follows me around constantly. The whole lot of them do. And they just... watch."
"It's been a while since I've interacted with one," you think out loud, coaxing the shroomboars to come out of hiding. "But from what I remember, Aranara normally only ever show themselves around small children. They must see something in you that makes them trust you."
"..."
For a moment, the crease in the Wanderer's forehead disappears. An unreadable expression crosses his face as if he were contemplating your words, but as soon as the expression appeared it was gone.
He grit his teeth and let out a dry laugh, as if deciding to disregard your words.
Alternate version for Scaramouche's part:
Being the animal archon, you can sense things in living beings.
Specifically, when they're not actually living beings.
Living things had a pulse. They breathed. They strained when put under stress but healed and kept living.
Ruin Guards have a constant creaking sound whenever they move, artificially propelled by magic that had stopped being practiced before even you manifested into the world. Maybe your predecessor would have seen it, understood it. The clockwork meka in Fontaine give off a metronomic clicking sound, keeping time through their walk cycles and other pre-programmed movements.
Sure, these things are animated, but it would be a stretch to call them alive.
When you first met the Wanderer, you didn't sense a pulse, nor did you hear that telltale clicking of gears and wires. He wasn't quite alive, but too elaborate to come across as an artificial imitation.
Maybe, after knowing each other for a looong time, Wanderer will disclose his past to you. How he isn't a god nor a human.
The two of you are sitting in a clearing, you followed by animals, him followed by Aranara.
"Well... Even if you're not the same species as a human..." You say after thinking for a long while, "I still consider you to be a person."
His eyes widen ever so slightly as he listens to you.
"You have the capacity to think and feel and want, just like anyone else. To me, that makes you just as alive as any human, even if you don't share some of the physical traits."
With the way he described his past, such a human reaction to pain and betrayal, the only thing that seemed to set him apart was the godly ability he inherited.
He'd consider your words in silence, not offering a response, but for a moment you swore you heard a heartbeat.
A/N: I was mostly just throwing things at the wall and seeing if it worked for this one. Idk how to write Scaramouche I'm sorry asdfjkl

Mrs Fletcher | Prof!Eve Fletcher x Fem!Reader | Chapter Six: Sore Tongue
Summary: Eve shows up to the university with an unexpected change.

Two days after your "date" with Eve, Monday had made its return and you were heading to leave for class. You didn't feel like it, but honestly, you never do. Checking through some of your books, double checking that your diary was on your desk where it should be, you zipped up your bag and grabbed a couple of pens from your desk.
You felt lucky having a single dorm. It could occasionally get lonely, but at the same time, you were free. You could do whatever you wanted without being watched over, and decorated how you wished, hence to why you had a section of your wall dedicated to pictures. You would stand there and look at them often. Your parents, some pictures with Steve, some of your cousins, but you would linger on a picture of you and your ex girlfriend in the middle, Haley, in the dorm you shared in college. You wanted to forget about her, maybe to feel less guilty about everything, but it wasn't easy.
You shook your head, and left the room, walking to your first class: Latin, an extra class you had chosen to take. It wasn't too far from the dorms, luckily enough. As you entered the floor the class was on, Mrs Fletcher suddenly bumped into you as she was coming out from one of the staff bathrooms.
"Mrs Fletcher! Good morning, sorry for bumping into you." You chuckled, looking up at her, wearing that cute pair of glasses you thought suited her face perfectly.
"Hey Y/N," She replied, and her voice sounded a bit strange. As you spoke, you noticed something. You weren't trying to be creepy by taking a glance into her mouth, you just noticed it from the corner of your eye. Your eyes quickly darted back down to look at her mouth once again just before she managed to close it, trying to confirm what you thought you had just noticed. And it fucking was.
"Mrs Fletcher, what's that?"
Her eyes widened, "No'hing?"
"... No way." You gasped. "Mrs Fletcher, open your mouth."
Eve tilted her head downwards, trying to block your view, "Why?"
"You aren't fooling me!"
Eve couldn't help but smirk at you, looking away sheepishly at having been caught.
"You got a fucking tongue piercing."
Eve laughed a little, "hey, 'anguage!" She warned, playfully sticking out her slightly redder and swollen tongue, with a long silver bar. "I got a 'ittle 'ealous of your eye'row." She pointed to your piercing, which you actually forget is there because of how long you've had it. "I wa' fee'ing... rebe'ious. Go' i' done after our coffee. I wa' very swollen yester'ay, I'm jus' surprised I 'an speak a'ready!"
You couldn't help but smile like an idiot, who would've thought that your 45 year old professor would get a tongue piercing, of all things?
"Speak? I'm only just barely understanding you miss. How are you going to teach your classes?" You chuckle, "Are you even allowed to have a tongue piercing?"
Eve grinned, clanking the jewelry against the back of her teeth, "I don' know, an' proba'y not.
"Is that why you said you had somewhere to be on Saturday? You realized you were going to be late for your appointment?" You giggled, looking at her in amusement every time she spoke.
"Yah! I go' there late!" She exclaimed, making you laugh again, a sound Eve actually loved hearing. "I' was very scary, I don' like need'es."
You bit your lip, "That looks so painful though, I didn't take you for someone to do through with a tongue piercing." You joked, making Eve chuckle and nod in response.
As Eve tried to ramble on about how nervous she was, almost oversharing the nervous poop she had beforehand, you cut her off, "I don't want you to irritate it, why don't you tell me all about it tomorrow so you don't accidentally hurt yourself?" You offered, and Eve couldn't help but blush at your consideration. She nodded, poking her tongue out one final time before heading down the hallway.
Well, that just might have been the hottest thing you had seen in a while, and certainly NOT what you expected at 9am on a Monday morning.
Steve sneaked up behind you, attempting to scare you as if you hadn't already noticed him. He frowned in disappointment, and you put your finger to your lips.
"Don't go telling everyone but... If you, hypothetically, had to guess where Mrs Fletcher would choose to get a piercing, where do you think it would be?"
He looked at you in confusion, before smirking. "Definitely, her ni-"
"Don't."
"Fine. I don't know, her nostril or something?" He shrugged, and you shook your head.
"Tongue."
"Ouch, but-" His eyes widened in realization, looking at you for confirmation, "She didn't, there's no way, you're pranking me. I don't know why you'd choose that for a prank, it's a little weird-"
"Steve, I'm not joking."
He looked at you in silence, almost as if contemplating whether to believe you or not. "For real?"
"For real."
He started to laugh, and you joined in. It was so random, and any other person wouldn't believe you. Everyone knows that Mrs Fletcher is innocent (on the outside), and no one would imagine, not even in one hundred years, that she would do something so insane as a tongue piercing, especially since she once shared with one of her classes that she cried at 38 years old because she had to have blood drawn.
"Okay, I got to get to class, we'll talk later." You waved goodbye, and Steve headed into the opposite direction.
The rest of your classes went by pretty smoothly. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood, which was unusual. Normally you have to deal with at least one snarky comment or insult a day, whether it be from a classmate, or Mrs Evanora. Before leaving, you popped your head into Eve's open office door.
"See you tomorrow, Mrs Fletcher." You smiled, and she gave you a kind wave, indicating she probably couldn't really speak.
Eve finished her own work about an hour later, and took the drive back to her house, the thought of her bed being very irresistible.
She pulled up outside, and took a few minutes to water her flowers, admiring the rose bush that had started to bloom. She went inside and quickly replaced her work heels with a pair of slippers that were way too big for her.
She made her way to the bathroom, and swished some cold water through her mouth to soothe her tongue, unable to stop checking herself out in the mirror every now and then, making ridiculous poses, fantasizing herself as a tongue model. Wait, did those even exist?
She quickly changed into a gray tank top with some shorts, and got into bed. She opened up her laptop, and couldn't resist browsing online, looking at some things she probably wouldn't want anyone to know she was watching.
Sleep eventually overtook her, as she went into a slumber she so desperately needed, even though her day wasn't as tiring as it sometimes was. And, as if no time at all had passed, she woke up to her alarm blaring into her eardrums.
17:56
'How and when did two hours pass?'
Testing her speech, Eve found herself being able to talk again, to a comprehensible point at least, so after a brief phone call and her voice still groggy, she changed into a bikini with a plain black dress on top to head over to Amanda's house to relax in her jacuzzi for the evening.
Even at the last minute, Amanda was rarely busy in the evenings and was always open to a meet up, even if it's just for a chat. Eve doesn't understand how she does it, but she admires it, a little jealous of her social battery and availability, even.
It was already dark out as she stepped into her car, regretting not taking a jacket beforehand even though it wasn't that cold, but she really couldn't be bothered to go back inside to get one. She started the engine and turned up the heat a little bit, just to warm up the vehicle.
The drive to Amanda's was only around ten minutes, since she didn't live too far away from Eve, making it convenient to have wine nights together. She knocked on the door, pulling her friend into a hug upon greeting each other.
"Come in, mind turning on the jacuzzi? I'll bring us some wine." Amanda grinned, heading into the kitchen. Eve nodded, walking to the balcony window and stepping into Amanda's back yard. Despite the fact that the woman lived alone, her house was quite big, hence the big outdoor space.
Eve looked towards the side of the jacuzzi, and turned it on, watching as the bubbles began to form. She stripped herself from her dress and took off her heels, stepping into the warm bubbly water, letting out a sigh at the warmth which replaced the cold evening air on her skin.
Amanda came outside a few moments later, a bottle of wine, two glasses and a bowl of Cheez Its in her hands. Eve quickly stepped back out to help her, "You're going to drop something!" She mused.
"I don't like having to take multiple trips. If my hands can carry them, I carry them." Amanda replied, smirking, and Eve rolled her eyes as she helped her place everything onto the the jacuzzi wall.
They stepped back in together, and Amanda made a similar sound of pleasure at the warm water.
Anything new at the senior home?" She inquired, and Amanda shrugged,
"Poor Shirley had a fall, which startled Brenda so much she had a heart attack." Amanda sighed, looking almost unfazed.
"That's..." Eve froze, looking up at her friend with wide eyes, "Tragic?"
Amanda laughed, nodding, swaying her hand through the water.
"Why don't you come work full time at the university instead? If you'd prefer?" Eve suggested, sliding over to sit next to her.
"I don't think I'd work full time stocking up the library, the old people are way more interesting. Unless it completely shuts down, I'll stick with part time at the uni." She she shrugged, and the woman next to her nodded in understanding. "Besides, what's going on with that teacher's pet of yours?" Amanda teased, and Eve shoved her.
"Don't say that." She laughed, "But... She might have treated me to a coffee, or well, tried to. I paid for her when she wasn't looking."
Amanda's jaw dropped, setting her wine glass down to cover her mouth. "What?!"
Eve nodded, giggling. "Yeah, I was there with some coworkers and she was having lunch with her friend behind us, and as I was about to leave, she asked me to stay for another drink." She explained further, making Amanda look even more excited with every word.
"Are you living in a book or something?"
"I think I might be."
Amanda smirked at her, moving her arms to rest them on the wall, before wincing.
"Ugh, my hand is still bruised because of you." She groaned, and Eve put her own hands up in defense.
"Hey, you offered!"
"Yeah, to distract you from the pain, you started squeezing the life out of my hand before the needle even reached you!"
"Okay but still, it was so worth it." Eve stuck her tongue out for emphasis, showing off the jewelry.
"The swelling has gone down so much!" Amanda exclaimed in surprise, making Eve nod excitedly.
"Yeah, before you know it, I can change it to that vibrating jewelry I found on Etsy last week-"
"Eve!"
"Sorry!"
Amanda shook her head, sighing, "What did she think of it?"
Eve's cheeks reddened, giving her a smirk. "Oh, she noticed immediately. Before anyone else did. I know I shouldn't have it in the working environment, so I am a little worried now..."
Amanda clicked her tongue, looking towards Eve's mouth again, "Well, if anyone calls you out, say they're a pervert for looking there."
"At my tongue?" She laughed, and the other woman nodded.
"Yes!"
Eve rolled her eyes at her antics, listening as she randomly began to talk about some of the trash she had to clean up at the university library, even though it wasn't part of her job. The night went on, and it didn't take long for the pair of them to become tipsy on a single bottle of wine.

Heyyyy so im feeling evil and thinking of some sort of reader x blade x jingyuan where blade and reader like each other but jingyuan likes reader and it's this sad painful dramatic thing where jingyuan has to let reader be happy because happiness for her is with blade not with him
‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ☾. A Haunted House‧₊˚𓂃 ࣪ ִֶָ
A/n: I hope you like this you... youu!! (pointed finger at you emoji) Tbh I wish I could write concrete chapters for these things, but I don't hav the time.. Maybe one day I'll something long/multi-chapter. I love long angst and build up aaa
Content: Angst, Jing Yuan reminiscing about you, how he watched you and Blade grow closer together, remembering how he could never bring himself to stand between you and the person your heart called out for; unrequited love, no comfort
Words: 1490
Ko-Fi
Ages have come and gone with the turns of every amber era, each one feeling slower than the last and bringing by joys and sorrows uncounted. Jing Yuan had read too many words, tested his tongue with various titles and courtesies, yet the words he was attempting to read now tasted like ashes and looked like broken ripples. He found himself losing focus as of late, much more frequently and he could not blame the habit onto his usual sleepiness or the duty of a General that weighed across his shoulders. The papers before him were the reports of his fellow subordinates, Cloud Knights, about their recent investigation. He had read the same paragraph multiple times and found himself more disappointed than the last when the words did not seem to be written in his language.
His thoughts were plagued by you. To anyone else in his shoes such a notion would bring shame to the General - this wise and old figure who has blooded his weapon and led his ship to prosperity, but he breaks at the notion of a missing warmth and imagined what-could-have-beens. But that small world of memories and dreams is all that was able to comfort him these days, it helped him wake up in the morning when it stabbed through his chest and prevented him from further sleep, all with a sad smile on his lip. What it could have been, if you had your heart for him and not Blade.
It was the late evening when he left the confines of the Seat of Divine Foresight, fresh air filling his lungs. The new assistant that was hired to tend his office greeted him on his way out and he bid her farewell with a gentle smile, although he could hardly call her new at this point, she had been around for almost a century, yet it made little difference to him. Little things meant little, they made him sad and made him lose sleep. Ever since the stellaron had been sealed away he could not stop thinking about the disaster. His mind’s eye drifted to the image of your face when he told you the news, always preferring to tell you these kinds of things in person. He told you to keep your guard up and remain close to your residence if you had no other pressing matters in terms of your work - but the image that floated forward more often than not was the way you left.
His easy smile traded places on his face for a look much more solemn when the roof of his residence loomed over his head, heavy and cold.
“Hello, Mimi..” he bent down and extended his hand to the white feline as it came up to him, pushing its head against his hand in a strong greeting before making figure eights around and through his legs. At times like these, Jing Yuan felt as if this little creature alone harbored love towards him or took him into consideration, be it when she licked his face to wake him in the mornings or when she didn’t mind when he scratched her ears when she brought him a dead mouse as a trophy for him. A show off, this little one is. Sighing, he carefully stepped from her and took off his boots, placing them back into place.
Moving further inside he glimpsed the darkening sky outside, for a moment wondering if some of his more sensitive plants could use some more watering. He spots the low hanging leaves of the more dramatic sort of his plants. It was watered more than any other plant in his care, yet it curled its leaves and blooms in on itself, drooping from its clay pot, asking for another gallon of water.
There are letters on the table, he had received them and read them that same morning. The letters themselves looked like they had gone through the disaster, with crumbled paper and torn edges, but Jing Yuan could recognize your handwriting anywhere, even in its most unshapely of forms. The envelopes are open neatly, yet torn at the edges where he couldn’t keep himself from ripping it open, his patience bending in the way of his gut-wrenching curiosity. Every step he takes towards the low table makes his feet feel heavy as lead, agonizing, slow, too heavy to bear, but the General has been through many trials, and none felt as painfully rewarding as this one.
In the corners of his eye he sees a different image than the dull walls of his empty home, he sees fragmented images of better days.
You’re sitting next to him and there are drinks on the table instead of letters. Blade- no, Yingxing is sitting across from you, lifting his cup of rice wine up into the air and towards yours. Baiheng is there too, exclaiming how they were going on with the toasts without her. There is one other, but Jing Yuan wishes not to remember. All hands join together making the porcelain cups clink and sing.
Yingxing looked less gloomy, less reserved, he looked a century younger with the smile he wore on his face and the faint flush on his cheeks which he styled to perfection after a few drinks had settled in his gut, his eyes fixed on you. Your hands suddenly slap Jing Yuan on the shoulder, a playful act, it barely hurt but he swayed as if the impact had him reeling - you scolded him for not paying attention to you when you asked him something. What was it that you asked? A blessing? For what? Why his? There is a ring hanging on a necklace around that pretty neck of yours - only it wasn’t something he gifted you. Yingxing ,for once, used his skill for something other than weapons. He remembers your squeals of joy when you came over to show it to him.
It was fine steel, an elegant band of rippling black across it, a red crystal on the top embraced by thorny ivy. It was a bold ring, a rather big ring, and the work of it showed that its master did not specialize in jewelry making - but that did not make it any less special or any less beautiful.
He remembers your joy more than the ring, your flushed cheeks and how you were nearly out of breath by the end of the conversation. Your face is fading, he realizes.
Yingxing is what he sees next in his mind’s eye in his later years, wrinkles decorating the corners of his eyes and the corners of his mouth, leaving permanent reminders of his joyous life. He asks Jing Yuan to relay something to you, a velvet box with a metal handle to clasp it shut through a loop. He wonders why he can’t give it to you himself, why task him with such a thing? But he doesn’t refuse. The memory doesn’t end there, but Jing Yuan can’t make himself remember more of it. The doubt, the hurt, the betrayal..
The mirage slips by like indents in the sand which the waves lap away. Another memory takes place. It is just you and him. There are words unspoken. You look older with the weariness in your eyes, and lean forward, resting your forehead against his shoulder, but you don’t seem to dare to press yourself any closer to him. This one is not a recent memory, and in hindsight Jing Yuan wonders if you were trying to apologize to him then, in advance. Did you know things would turn out this way? Did you know he’d let you slip from his grasp like nothing ever existed between the two of you? He let you go, knowing you wouldn’t return to him, yet it hurt. You weren’t his.
He deserved to know you were alright, he deserved to know the truth of it, deserved to be told not to hope - that’s what all those letters told him, what you said in woven careful words, and he can swear there are dried tear stains on the paper. Were those from you or from him?
“Keep her safe”, he whispered, frowning as the house around him grew gray. Lan, keep her safe. Blade - don’t you dare hurt her. It wasn’t a threat, it was a plea.
He thought of sending you a response back, it was what kept him occupied the entire day besides his ghosts and your fading scent. Perhaps he shouldn’t - the letters would not reach you, and even if they did they would consist of his words telling you how he wished you all the best, wishing you safe travels through the stars - he could never will himself to hurt you, by words or actions. Sorrowful words would do him nothing, and they wouldn’t return you to him either.
Jing Yuan decides to not write anything back.
“(Y/n).. Stay safe. Stay happy..”

Aaa can we pls get some pining Milo x a shy reader? Maybe reader is a secret admirer and he figures it out (or Vice versa SHKSDBSJ)
A/N: I loved this idea so I wrote two versions, one where the reader is the admirer and one where Milo is the admirer, but I hope you enjoyed this!! Happy reading!!
Navigation!! // Masterlist!!

Milo as the admirer
Milo has always been drawn to you, ever since you first started working together. But he’s never been good at expressing his feelings, especially when he’s around someone he admires as much as you. So instead of telling you outright, he starts leaving small tokens of his affection—a favorite book, a handwritten note, or a carefully selected flower, always placed where he knows you’ll find it.
You notice the gifts almost immediately. They’re always thoughtful, perfectly suited to your tastes and interests, and it doesn’t take long before you start to suspect someone in the archives might be behind them. But no one ever comes forward, and you’re too shy to ask around.
One day, you find a note tucked into a book you were looking for. It’s written in neat, careful handwriting and simply says, “I thought you might like this. –A Friend.” The message is sweet, but it leaves you with more questions than answers.
Determined to figure out who’s been leaving these thoughtful gifts, you start paying closer attention to the people around you. It’s not long before you notice how Milo always seems to know exactly what you’re looking for, or how he lingers nearby whenever you find one of the gifts.
Finally, one day, you decide to confront him, though your heart is racing at the thought. You wait until the two of you are alone in the archives, the silence filled only by the sound of pages turning and the soft click of typewriter keys. Taking a deep breath, you approach him, trying to keep your voice steady.
“Milo,” you start, catching his attention. “I’ve been finding these… notes and things. Do you know anything about them?”
Milo’s reaction is immediate—his eyes widen, and a faint blush creeps up his cheeks. He stammers for a moment, clearly taken off guard. “I—I might know something about that,” he finally admits, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
You give him a curious look, encouraging him to continue. He sighs, realizing there’s no point in hiding it anymore. “It’s me,” he says softly, meeting your eyes with a mixture of hope and anxiety. “I didn’t know how else to tell you… how I feel.”
His confession leaves you speechless for a moment, but the sincerity in his voice and the way he looks at you with such earnestness makes your heart swell. You can hardly believe that Milo, who you’ve admired from afar, has been doing the same.
“I didn’t expect it to be you,” you admit, a smile tugging at your lips. “But I’m really glad it is.”
Milo’s eyes brighten at your response, and for the first time, he looks truly relieved. “Really?” he asks, almost disbelieving. When you nod, his smile widens, and he takes a step closer, a new confidence in his voice. “Maybe we could… spend more time together? Outside of work, I mean.”
With your heart still fluttering, you agree, and you can already tell that this is the beginning of something special between the two of you.
Reader as the admirer
You’ve admired Milo Thatch for as long as you can remember, captivated by his intellect, his passion for history, and the way his eyes light up when he talks about Atlantis. But your shyness has kept you from ever confessing your feelings. Instead, you’ve found a different way to express your love—through small, romantic notes that you secretly leave for him to find.
The first note you leave is simple yet heartfelt. “You have the most beautiful mind I’ve ever known,” it reads. You slip it into his journal one evening when the library is quiet and empty, your hands trembling with a mix of excitement and nerves. As you walk away, your heart races at the thought of him finding it, imagining the small smile that might cross his face when he reads your words.
Milo discovers the note the next morning, nestled between the pages of his journal. At first, he’s surprised—no one usually leaves him notes—but as he reads it, a warm smile spreads across his face. The note is kind, thoughtful, and incredibly personal. It makes him feel seen in a way he’s rarely experienced before. He can’t help but wonder who left it, his mind drifting to you as he tucks the note back into his journal, a small warmth blossoming in his chest.
As the days pass, you continue leaving notes for him, each one more affectionate than the last. “Your smile brightens my day,” reads one, which you tuck into the pages of his favorite book. “I could listen to you talk for hours,” says another, which you carefully place in his coat pocket. With each note, you pour more of your feelings into the words, hoping that they reach him, even if you can’t muster the courage to say them aloud.
Milo begins to look forward to finding these notes. They’ve become the highlight of his day, a secret connection that lifts his spirits even during the most challenging times. He reads each note over and over, memorizing your words and the way they make him feel. He’s never felt this way before—so cherished, so valued. The notes are from someone who sees him, who truly understands him. His thoughts often drift to you, the way you always seem to be nearby, offering a quiet smile or a kind word. Could it be you leaving these notes? The idea makes his heart race.
Then comes the note that changes everything. “Every time I see you, my heart skips a beat. You have no idea how much I love you.” The words are more vulnerable, more direct than anything you’ve written before. You leave it in his journal once more, the place where it all began, and you can hardly breathe as you walk away, wondering if you’ve finally gone too far, or if maybe, just maybe, he feels the same way.
Milo finds the note that evening, and as he reads the words, his heart pounds in his chest. There’s no mistaking the depth of the feelings in this note—it’s not just admiration, it’s love. And suddenly, everything clicks into place. He thinks about how you always seem to be there, how your eyes linger on him just a little longer than anyone else’s, how your smile always brightens when he catches you looking at him. It must be you. It has to be.
Determined to know for sure, Milo decides to wait. He stays late in the library that evening, pretending to be engrossed in his research but really watching the door, hoping to see you. When you finally arrive, your eyes darting nervously around the room, his heart skips a beat. He watches as you approach his desk, another note clutched tightly in your hand. You don’t notice him watching you; you’re too focused on slipping the note into his book, your hands trembling slightly as you do.
Before you can turn to leave, Milo steps forward, his voice soft yet filled with emotion. “It’s you, isn’t it?” he asks, holding the note you just placed in his hand.
You freeze, your breath catching in your throat. Slowly, you turn to face him, and when your eyes meet, you see the note in his hand, and the realization that he knows dawns on you. Your heart races, your cheeks flush with a mix of fear and hope.
“I… I’m sorry,” you stammer, your voice barely above a whisper. “I didn’t mean to—”
But before you can finish, Milo takes another step closer, his eyes never leaving yours. “Don’t apologize,” he says gently, his voice laced with a tenderness that makes your heart flutter. “These notes… they’ve meant more to me than I can say. I’ve been trying to figure out who’s been leaving them, and now that I know it’s you…”
He trails off, his gaze softening as he takes in the sight of you, standing there with your heart on your sleeve. “I’ve been falling for you,” he admits, his voice trembling slightly. “Every time I found one of these notes, it felt like a piece of my heart was being filled. And now that I know it’s you…”
Your heart skips a beat, and you can hardly believe what you’re hearing. “You… you feel the same way?” you ask, your voice filled with both hope and disbelief.
Milo’s response is a soft, shy smile, but there’s a new intensity in his eyes, something that wasn’t there before. “I do,” he says softly, taking another step closer until he’s standing right in front of you. “I’ve been hoping it was you, and now that I know… I don’t think I can imagine my life without you.”
His words leave you breathless, and before you can even think, your hand reaches out, brushing against his. Milo’s fingers curl around yours, warm and reassuring, and for a moment, you both stand there, caught in the magic of the moment.
Then, as if drawn by some invisible force, Milo leans in, his eyes searching yours for any sign of hesitation. When he finds none, he closes the distance between you, his lips brushing against yours in the softest, most tender kiss you’ve ever experienced. It’s hesitant at first, as if he’s savoring the moment, but then it deepens, and you feel all the unspoken words, all the hidden emotions, pour into that kiss.
Your arms find their way around his neck, pulling him closer as you lose yourself in the warmth and comfort of his embrace. Milo responds in kind, his arms wrapping around your waist, holding you as if he never wants to let go. The world around you seems to fade away, leaving just the two of you, locked in a moment of pure, unadulterated love.
When you finally pull away, both of you are breathless, your foreheads resting against each other as you take in what just happened. Milo’s eyes are filled with a mix of wonder and joy, and he gives you a soft, affectionate smile.
“I’m so glad it was you,” he whispers, his voice filled with sincerity. “You’ve made me feel more loved than I ever thought possible.”
Tears of happiness prick at your eyes, and you smile back at him, your heart overflowing with love. “I’ve loved you for so long,” you admit, your voice trembling with emotion. “I just never knew how to tell you.”
Milo gently tilts your chin up, his thumb brushing against your cheek. “You don’t have to say anything else,” he murmurs. “I know. And I feel the same way.”
With that, he leans in for another kiss, this one more confident, more sure, as if he’s finally found the missing piece of his heart. And as you kiss him back, you know that this is just the beginning of something beautiful—something you’ve both been waiting for, whether you realized it or not.

"Dude, I said no. She'll be so mad at me if I do"
"It's for our funds" Johnny insists
"But-"
"No buts, once we reach like $100 I swear I'll cut the line. I have faith in you"
At this point Jaehyun can't say anything that would stop Johnny. He's thinking about bringing in his last card but he'll save it for the last minute so for now he says yes.
Come the day of the festival, word got around that Jaehyun was going to do the date booth so ofcourse the line was long by the time he arrived there. Johnny right in front calling even more students to join while Haechan stands beside him collecting payments.
"Oh here's our star of the day. Okay so who's up first?" Johnny was answered with tens, maybe 20 or more screams from the crowd. Jaehyun shoots a shy smile before going behind the booth.
It's only the fifth girl before he heard the shouting from somewhere in the back.
"JOHNNY J. SUH I SWEAR TO GOD YOU BETTER RUN" Jaehyun hears you before he could see you. He then looks at Johnny, seeing the nervous look on his face and an even more scared Haechan beside him.
"You're on your own, hyung" Haechan mumbles, hiding behind the 6 foot tall guy.
The girls at the very front and the one Jaehyun was just talking to turns their heads towards you, seeing what the commotion is all about.
"What the heck is this?" you ask, eyes blazing.
"A booth"
You stare down the guy taller than you, giving him a chance to change his answer. "Oh come on, it's for our frat funds. And Jaehyun said yes" Johnny says
"Well" Jaehyun interferes making the three of you look over at him, Johnny shoots him a look while you glare at him. He knows the anger isn't really directed towards him, but you can be very scary when you want to be.
"I doubt that, this whole thing has yours and yours name written all over it" you point at the double AA and triple AAA brothers
"How much do you need to raise?" you ask "Like hundred dollars" Haechan answers
You pull something from your back pocket, a crisp hundred bill before putting it inside the jar Haechan was holding.
"There, done. Show's over people. You, let's go"
"Yes ma'am" Jaehyun gets up from his seat, not needing to be told twice. Following behind you.
When you were a few booths away, he catches up with you. Pulling you back by you arm.
"You're not really mad at me, are you?" he asks
"Depends"
"Hey, I swear I told Johnny no. I was gonna tell you about it but honestly I just wanted to watch you rip at him" he tells you with a smile, his dimples showing.
Just like that you feel some of the annoyance and anger melting away. When you don't say anything back, Jaehyun takes this chance to step closer to you. Holding both of your hands in his.
"Don't be mad, please?"
You roll your eyes at him, all is forgiven already.
"I'll buy you ice cream?"
"WIth two scoops?"
He smiles, intertwining your fingers together before leading you towards the ice cream stand. "Two scoops of cookie dough with extra chocolate drizzle just for you"
"You can't still be mad at me"
Currently you, Jaehyun and Johnny are sitting outside a cafe just to hang out. Even though Johnny gives you headaches half of the time, he is a very good friend of yours.
"You'll be surprised with how long I can hold a grudge" you answer back
"I gave your boyfriend back"
"Exactly, he's mine so stop using him for profits" you bite back, Jaehyun listens quietly beside you. His arm resting behind your chair.
"We got that pingpong table from the car wash benefit we did last summer, we're trying to get a pinball machine next" Johnny says
You do remember that frat event. You've never seen so many girls and some guys line up for a carwash done by a bunch of frat boys. Yuta definitely put on a show, Jungwoo also had fun being the adrenaline junkie that he is following whatever Yuta was doing. Mark and Jeno were more shy about it but had one of the longest line.
And Jaehyun, well safe to say you made him wash your car a few times until the line behind you got tired of waiting for their turn. You were debating whether to cut their water supply line but you know Taeyong would scold you so you didn't.
"Go find someone else" you grumble
"Okay then let me ask you, let's say you're in a cafe inside with another friend and this other friend got cold. Jaehyun's the only one who got a jacket, is it okay if he lends her his jacket?" he asks you,
Jaehyun smirks from beside you, waiting for your answer.
"Do you enjoy having your head attached to your neck?" you ask Johnny
"Come on, will you?"
"Of course not! Did your mom not raise you to always bring a jacket in case it gets cold?" you sassily ask back
"I don't see you bringing a jacket around" Johnny counters
"That's cause I have a Jaehyun. She can get her own boyfriend to borrow her jacket from, but until then have fun being a human popsicle"
Jaehyun smiles, his hand absentminded drawing circles on your back as he listens to you.
It's endearing to him really. To some it might sound like you're too much, too jealous, maybe even insecure but Jaehyun knows it's the opposite. And if he's being honest, he's way worse than you. If sees a guy even looking at you for a second too long he's right behind you hovering, a silent warning to back off.
When in public together, if he's not holding you he'll always be a step away. At parties he would be attached at the hip with you, even going to the bathroom to guard the door for you.
If positions were switched he'd be livid too if he sees you in a dating booth smiling at a random dude. Only he can make you smile, only he can make you blush and laugh and moan.
Shaking his thoughts away, he looks over at you still arguing with Johnny. Noticing the breeze got a bit colder since the sun is setting, he shrugs his jacket off to put it around you
"Oh my god, I cannot with you two" Johnny says as he watches the two of you. Slipping your arms through the sleeves, immediately smelling Jaehyun's perfume around you.
"Like I said, I have a Jaehyun"
It's finally the end of a long week, you invited Jaehyun over your place to cook dinner and have an indoor date to end your week together.
The two of you love cooking together, when you first started dating you used to cook for him and bring him packed lunches. Then one time he invited you over to cook dinner for you. At some point cooking became part of date night and it's now one of your favorite things to do with him.
While Jaehyun stirs the noodles on the pan, he feels you hug him from behind. You stand on your tiptoe to kiss him on the jaw, earning a smile from your boyfriend.
When it's just the two of you, you're more clingy towards him. In contrast with your strong personality around his friends, you're more soft spoken and gentle when it's just him around.
"Your birthday is coming up, what do you want to do?" you ask him
"Do you want to go on a date? It's valentines"
You shook your head, stepping to the side to look at him. Jaehyun peaks down at you, "You don't want to go out?"
"If that's what you want, we can celebrate valentines some other day. I want to celebrate your birthday" you tell him.
Jaehyun smiles at you, rubbing his nose against yours before giving your lips a quick peck. He can't get too distracted since he's still cooking. He burnt something before when the two of you forgot about the ramen you were cooking and got busy making out on the kitchen counter.
In his defense he craved you more than the ramen.
"Well if that's the case. What I want for my birthday is to go on a date with my favorite girl"
You smile at him, "Anywhere or is there somewhere you want to go to?"
"Can I plan it?"
"But it's your birthday"
"And I really want to take you out on a date, give me your day and consider that the best gift you could give me"
You look at him, he looks back at you waiting for you to fold. When you roll your eyes at him he knew he won.
"Fine but I'm getting you another gift, you can't say no!"
The two of you enjoy dinner, cleaning up afterwards before putting on a movie you're not really going to watch.
You'll give it to him, a record time of 4 minutes after the movie starts before he pulled you on his lap to kiss you breathless.
"That's a record" you mumble when the two of you broke apart to catch your breath
"What?" he asked, still dazed
"You made it past the opening credits" you giggle, tangling your hands behind his neck to pull him closer to you until he's a breath away.
"I was trying to see if you really wanted to watch the movie" he smirks, holding your hips down against his
"Liar, you would've distracted me whether I wanted to watch it or not"
"Okay you got me there, but what can I do. I just want to kiss my girlfriend all night and all over. Am I not allowed to do that?" He smiles before capturing your lips again, then he's leaving a trail of kisses along your skin. From your lips to your cheeks to your jaw down your neck. His hands now under your shirt to grip your waist.
"Yuno Jeong, believe me when I say this you are allowed to do all of that to me whatever it is you have in mind right now"
"You, you're all that is in my mind right now"

Different anon, but yes to everything you've said! I'm still so disappointed we got absolutely nothing in the flashback. Like not confirming Rio as the other parent and not getting to at least see the happier times between them (this could have easily been a quick montage). I think this is where 95% of my issues with the Agathario storyline fall. Without Kathryn and Aubrey's incredible chemistry, this pairing would have fallen completely flat. And no comment on Billy lol Such a bland character.
This got away from me so I’m tucking it under the cut.
Yes! That’s why Jac saying all of this post show high key pisses me off! Because from where were we supposed to draw these conclusions that she supposedly wanted to be very obvious. Surely it wasn’t the script. Surely it wasn’t the cut content. Surely it wasn’t how the character’s are written with each other.
For God’s sake, Agatha says Rio’s name one time and it’s not even to her. I was starting to wonder if she even knew her by that name. There’s no terms of endearment, not even angry name calling. She never addresses her at all. And to me that’s such a frustrating detail! Like this is your ex wife? Agatha has a pet name for everyone, good or ill. But nothing for Rio?
Like we had that scene in episode four, which to this day will go down as the most longing I’ve ever scene. And not even a whisper of baby? Sweetheart? Honey? Like Agatha was locked in and fucking cradling the mother of her child and nothing? Same with episode 8. Rio pushes Agatha to the point that after their meeting she crashes out on the road and we don’t even get a “thats enough Rio!” They’re talking about Rio taking their dead son’s soul and we get no reference to this not just being an ex or a former friend but her fucking wife??? Not even a, “you killed our SON!!!” Which wouldn’t have been accurate but it would have fit with what is clearly Agatha’s narrative.
Also also, if we’re crashing out anyway and I’m telling the love of my very long life that she only brings me pain and I never want to see her again? I’m absolutely throwing it in her face that she left me with our son’s cold dead corpse to bury alone with my bare hands in the fucking woods. And, I hate to say it, I think Agatha might be pettier than me. So there’s no way she’s letting that shit go. You cannot convince me that this show wasn’t just being written off the cuff. There are too many moments that just fall flat in really weird ways for this to have been the vision from the beginning.
Also^3 what the fuck was with them giving us no information about the Darkhold, how Agatha got it for real, when she got it, why ect. I mean we can assume, God I’m tired of that, that she was trying to bring Nicky back based on how she acted with Wanda. But beyond that, we have no information on this very pivotal part of her history. And it kept getting brought up, so I hoped we would see something on it.
I completely agree that Kathryn and Aubrey, and the other talented actors and actresses, carried this show in spite of the script. So much of both of their characters come from their physical acting it’s insane. Like can you imagine how bland Rio would be if it wasn’t Aubrey’s adorably unhinged self playing her? Girl said she was eating flowers on set. Like ma’am that’s in zero shots of the final show. She was just out there literally chewing on the scenery. And Kathryn can say more with an expression than most soliloquies. Plus she so consistent with how she physically plays Agatha it’s nuts. Like yes on set for AAA is understandable, but she brought the same mannerisms from WV. Like the finger thing she always does. It’s so crazy impressive.
As a final note, I really liked teen when he was a kind of goofy/sarcastic sidekick that kind of gave off the same vaguely unhinged vibes that Agatha and Rio give. Like the parts where he’s helping blackmail Jen only to turn around an hour later and offer her stale party favors? Peak Teen for me. Also I want to clarify I mean no hate whatsoever to Joe Locke. He’s brilliant and has a wonderful future as an actor ahead of him. I just hated that we lost half the show to him.

Seeking Rio
Written for AAA Week Day 5. I did the vampires AU for it (didn't realize it switched to a free day until I'd already written this). Hope you enjoy and thank you for reading.
Summary: Agatha needs to find immortality, and she seeks out a vampire who fate says can help her.
Seeking Rio
I gripped the shoulder straps of my bag and kept an eye on the bus stops. Two more until my stop. Lilia’s reading played over and over in my head.
“Well, what does it mean?” I said, crossing my arms. “Just tell me in plain terms.”
She looked at me solemnly. Her eyes full of pity. “It means you’re going to die unless you find this vampire.”
“Well, where do I find this bloodsucker?” I rolled my eyes. “I thought they’d died out a long time ago.”
Lilia shook her head and began to speak, but her eyes glazed over. The lights flickered and she scribbled on a notepad.
When the lights stopped flickering and her gaze returned to mine, she handed me the piece of paper. It had a name and address.
The bus finally arrived at the stop I needed. The sky was a burst of oranges, reds, and yellows as the sun sank lower into the mountains.
I stared at the mountains up ahead and swallowed. “Rio Vidal, you better have all the answers.”
By the time I’d made it up the long, winding dirt path to the mansion on the mountainside, my shadow stood beside me in the moonlight while I rang the bell.
Waiting for someone to answer the door, I took even, deep breaths, begging my heart to stop pounding. I knew there was a good chance this vampire would try to kill me on sight.
Despite being a witch, I was still a human with blood in my veins. I might become a midnight snack.
The door slowly opened to reveal a woman around my height with pale skin, dark hair, and dark eyes.
She stared at me, curiosity narrowing her eyes. “Who are you?”
“Hello, my name is Agatha Harkness. I’m a centuries old witch, and I’m in need of assistance from one, Rio Vidal.” I licked my lips and tried not to stare at her.
The woman frowned. “Agatha Harkness.”
I nodded, unsure if she recognized my name in a good or bad way.
She laughed. “I’m Rio Vidal, centuries old vampire, and I do not know how on Earth I could assist one, Agatha Harkness.”
“So, you have heard of me?” I grimaced, bracing myself for the bad reaction.
She sighed. “Yes, I’ve heard of you. You are quite notorious.”
Swallowing, I waited for her to say more.
She didn’t.
We stared at each other for a long moment, holding each other’s gaze. I swallowed again.
“What can I help you with?” she said.
“I-I need to become immortal.”
Her eyes roved my body; her head tilted to the side. “Are you not?”
I sighed and shook my head. “No. I-I’m not.”
“Not a lot of witches live centuries.” She ran her tongue over her teeth.
“Dark magic can do wonders for your lifespan.” I smiled tightly.
“Hm.” She nodded and continued to stare.
I tried to focus on the noise of crickets chirping and the night songs of the other bugs, but the blood thundering against my eardrums almost drowned them out entirely.
“You’re awfully nervous.” Rio smirked.
I laughed. “Well, this is my first time showing up a vampire’s home asking for help. No idea how it’s going to go, you know?”
Rio let out a deep exhale. “Could go many ways.”
My tight smile stayed in place; I stayed quiet.
She pointed at my bag. “Empty the contents of your bag. Let me see what you’ve brought.”
I frowned but nodded. “Oh, um, sure.”
I pulled the bag from my back and slowly unpacked my bag, lying out all my belongings and showing her the empty pockets once the whole bag was set out on the porch.
“And your coat or pants pockets, or anything else you might have on your body.” She motioned to me.
“Oh, um, right.” I turned out my empty pockets, took off my jacket and shook it out. “You can pat me down if you want.”
I blushed immediately and dropped my gaze to the ground.
She made a small noise. “I believe I will, Agatha Harkness.”
Once she was certain I didn’t have any vampire-killing items with me, she invited me to join her inside. Following her through the massive house, I made a mental map of how to return to the front door.
We stopped in the doorway of a living room where she gestured to a couch. “Have a seat.”
Sitting on her couch, I looked around at the decorations. Lots of flowers.
She sat on the love seat across from the couch and stared at me once again. I swallowed audibly in the quiet room.
She smirked. “Agatha, if we’re going to work together, you must stop being so nervous.”
I nodded and looked away. “Right. Trying.”
“I won’t bite,” she said. “Unless that’s what you want.”
I licked my lips and looked up. “Um, actually, it-it is.”
She raised her eyebrows. “Is it now?”
I took a deep breath and ran my hands over my knees. “Y-yes. I, um, I had a run in with a witch who, um, read my fortune. And she said I was going to die unless you saved me.”
She scoffed. “You sought me out to save you?”
I swallowed, feeling slightly dumber for the plan than I had a few moments before. “Um, yes.”
“I’ve heard of you, Agatha Harkness.” She held my gaze. “You’re the witch who kills witches. Who’s to say you wouldn’t become the vampire who kills vampires?”
I frowned, shaking my head. “No, I-I’m, I-I wouldn’t.”
She squinted. “Interesting. Your heartbeat suggest you aren’t lying.”
My heart raced. “W-What?”
“I can hear your heartbeat.” Rio’s tongue roved across her teeth again. “Why did you kill all those witches?”
I opened my mouth to answer, but my standard answer wouldn’t come out. Instead, I said, “I-I don’t know. I-I like power. I think that’s probably why. Sometimes, I think I need it. But I…I’m not sure. Maybe I like killing. I don’t know.”
I clamped my hand over my mouth and stared at her.
She smirked.
“What did you do to me? How did you do that?” I said, quietly.
“Vampires have powers, too,” she said just as quietly.
“Right. I see. Well. Please don’t…do that again.” I hugged myself, rubbing my hands up and down my arms.
“I’ll refrain as long as you stay truthful. I wanted to let you know I can make you tell the truth if necessary. I hope you understand.” She watched me, amusement flickered across her features.
“Got it.” I held her eyes for just a moment before looking away. “Will you help me or not?”
“Why don’t you want to die?” she said.
My body tensed. “I wish you wouldn’t have asked me that.”
She didn’t retract the question, only waited in silence for me to answer.
“I had a son. He died young. And…I feel ashamed of everything I’ve done since his death. I don’t want to face him. Yet.” I twisted my fingers into the hem of my shirt to hide the shaking.
“Yet?” She studied me.
I shifted under her intense gaze. “Vampires can be killed, right? Someday, maybe, if or when I’m ready to face him…I’ll just…you know, find someone to vanquish me or whatever.”
She laughed. “Oh, Agatha. You’re funny.”
“What? Is that not an option?” My arms fell away from my body. I reached down to my bag by my feet and grabbed my water bottle.
I took a drink.
“I suppose it is,” she said. Her eyes wandering to the ceiling and back again made me wonder if she was considering this idea for the first time or something, but I didn’t ask.
She shifted in her seat, leaning forward. “Are you addicted to draining witches of their powers?”
I frowned. “I don’t know. I hadn’t considered it to be an addiction. I don’t know.”
“Being a vampire comes with an unquenchable thirst. But you can’t go on killing sprees the way you’ve been accustomed to. People would notice.” She watched me. “Do you understand?”
Her eyes were mesmerizing. I got lost in them and lost the question. I wanted to know what her lips would feel like against mine. I ran my fingers over my lips.
“Agatha?” She blinked.
I blinked in turn and looked at her again. “Hm?”
“I said, do you understand?”
“Understand?” I frowned. “Oh, right. Um, why can’t I kill people the way I’ve been killing witches? Nobody misses the witches.” I blinked several times before shaking my head and rubbing my eyes. “I-I’m sorry. You’re extremely beautiful, and I’m having a hard time focusing this close to you.”
“It’s the thrall.” She leaned back again. “Is this better?”
I closed my eyes for a few moments. When I opened them again, I looked at her and didn’t feel so lost in her beauty. Slowly, I nodded.
“The risk of killing the wrong person is much greater, because that thirst is…not picky. You might set out ready to kill a certain person, a nomad or whoever. However, you might pick up the scent of someone who smells more appealing, and once you’ve given in to the call, you might not be in total control of yourself anymore. You might work solely on instinct. And instinct says you want the blood that smells better.” She shrugged. “Instinct allows little room for being methodical.”
I stared at her, waiting for more explanation, but she stayed quiet.
We settled into a comfortable silence, listening to each other breathing. I didn’t want to come off as demanding or impatient, and sitting in the silence with her gave me an excuse to study her features and commit her face to memory. Thrall or not, she was beautiful.
Finally, she smiled. “You’re getting comfortable, I see. Your heart rate has finally started to slow a bit, but it keeps spiking a little. Are you less afraid of me?”
My eyes widened. “I-um, yeah. Thrall or not, you’re gorgeous, and I’m not sure if I’m more afraid or attracted to you or if it’s both.”
She laughed. “It’s likely both.”
My face heated up.
“I would like you to live here for a while, experience what being a vampire would mean, before I take any action to help you. Is your impending death immediate or do you have that time?” she said, taking a deep breath. “I don’t smell illness on you?”
I shrugged. “I-I don’t know. The reading wasn’t…exactly the clearest thing. I’ve never been much for divination. But she said I was going to die soon and that only you could help me. I don’t know anything else about it.”
“Interesting.” She tapped her fingers against the armrest. “How do you feel about my offer? Are you willing to see how I live before committing?”
I hesitated. “I-I guess it doesn’t…hurt. But. I don’t understand. Why does it matter if I kill the wrong person? What does it matter to you or any other vampire?”
She shook her head. “Oh, Agatha, you have so much to learn.”
She was quiet for a moment. Her eyes grew distant; I wondered if she was going to ignore my question, but before I could repeat myself, her eyes were focused on me again.
“Vampires have to be extremely careful not to be found out about. Witches might have gone into hiding, but you’re still socially acceptable in certain ways. Vampires, while popular in some circles, are not widely accepted.”
She paused, as if trying to find the right words before continuing.
Then, she said, “Most people think we never even existed and certainly do not exist in a present tense, and we want to keep it that way.”
I nodded. “Okay, that makes more sense. Yes, I’ll stay with you and learn about your culture before committing.”
“One more condition.” She held up a hand.
“Okay. What is it?” I bit my lip, unsure what she could possibly add to this deal.
“You cannot kill any witches while you stay here.”
I frowned. “How is that relevant?”
“I want to see if you’re addicted or if you can, in fact, not kill as I believe you can.” She dropped her hand, holding it out for a handshake. “Do you accept under these terms and conditions?”
I stared at her hand for a moment before slowly reaching out and shaking it. “I accept.” I smiled at her.

This is all I had time for today, but I might revisit this and add more chapters at some point.

I think the big difference for me between Veilguard and Inquisition or like any number of AAA games in a similar style is that I don't feel like Veilguard is bullying me into doing quests. Like I play Inquisition and I do every side quest because I have to, because a random farmer with a ! over his head will talk to me and say "Hey can you get ten Ram's Meat, people are starving" and in so many ways that is not real - first, it's a video game, of course real people aren't going to starve if I don't collect ten Ram's Meat in the Hinterlands. But also, those people don't even exist in the context of the game, I can't go and talk to or see them, no one else will mention them outside of this quest, I could go play the whole game, defeat Corypheus, come back, get the Ram's Meat and no one will have died for me taking so long. But I still have to do it, because those people are starving! My brain is just broken in this way where I can't ignore it. And then I go do the quest and I hate doing it, it isn't fun, I'm having a bad time. And that's everything in Inquisition that is not a main story or companion quest or, like, the stuff with the mayor in Crestwood. It's everything in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, or Horizon Zero Dawn, or any big AAA open world game. Meanwhile, Veilguard is still written in much the same way, y'know, "Help stop these Venatori or they'll kill people," sure. But it doesn't feel forced upon me. I want to seek out quests because I enjoy playing the game so much, it's just fun. Maybe that'll change if I play this like, two, three, five, however many more times, but It's just so much better at being a game I want to play for more than just "I really wanna talk to Cassandra again"
