#oscar haters are so funny to me

Okay. So. I've been seeing people say that Oscar is underperforming. Y'ALL WHAT?

If we're talking about just this race, we're not going to talk about who's at fault for the touch that hit Oscar's front wing. However, he went from 19th to 13th in, like, 14 laps. That is good

Additionally, this is his second season in F1. I think that people are forgetting that, because he's doing so well. People are comparing him with Lando (obviously), and Carlos, and Lewis, who all have so many more years of experience than he does

To add on to my point, Oscar scored 97 points in his rookie season (we're looking at # of points instead of standings, because I feel like that's more fair). The only driver on the current grid to score more in their rookie season was Lewis Hamilton with 92 points. Max scored 49. Also in his rookie season, he won a sprint. Against Max.

Of course, Oscar will probably place lower than Lando. It makes sense. This is Lando's 6th season, it's Oscar's 2nd, and Lando will get priority. It's just how it works

Outside of F1, Oscar is insane. He won the Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula 3 championship, and the Formula 2 championship in successive rookie years. He's the first driver in history to ever do that. Like, dude is insane

Basically, in conclusion, Oscar is not underperforming. If anything, it feels like he's overperforming. He's doing very well

It’s just so exhausting hearing the same conversation from so called Tom fans every 3-5 business days. No one is saying that you guys need to love everything he does but it really does feel like some of you harp on every single thing about the man to a point it doesn’t feel like you’re fans. Who is your favorite driver? Oscar and Lando first and foremost, Max, Guanyu, and Alex because they're funny and they have cats, Yuki because he loves food.

If there's one way to hook me, it's memes. I've made a fair few myself, and if you've seen one that goes "people be like 'good night everyone' but then *insert screenshot of ao3*" floating around tumblrdotcom, that was unfortunately me.

Do you enjoy Fanfic/RPF? No. Absolutely not.

How do you view new fans? I feel like I'm still a new fan. Like, yes, I can explain DRS to anyone who asks, but I still feel like an imposter.

If you could take over as team principal for any team, who would it be and why? Brother uehhh (sorry). I'm already experiencing enough hair loss, thank you. Although, now that I think about it, I could be rich while experiencing hair loss... nah, nobody can pay me enough to babysit men.

Are your friends and family into F1 as well? I told my sibling about F1 when it was still just a budding interest, and they were like "you getting into F1 was NOT on my 2024 bingo card"... and, plot twist, now they're also into F1, and their favorite driver is Carlos. My mother also enjoys it enough to send me memes, like the one depicting the Ferrari pit crew as Smurfs during the Miami GP. My partner sadly doesn't Get My Obsession with F1, but they did immediately rate ZGY a 10, so that's good enough for me.

Are you open to talking to other fans/making friends? Yeah! I'm terrible at approaching people, though. Aside from sending a couple anonymous compliments to writers whose fics I've especially enjoyed, reaching out to other users sometimes feels like sending a professor an email, which is to say it's terrifying, but I'm definitely open to talking. And after I warm up to someone, I fear you'll never stop hearing from me. Ki and Wiz can confirm.

but other fans simply think it's unfair that he is on the wrong side of the swift machine. and i understand because he doesn't have the power of taylor's platform/fanbase anymore. and of course it's not cool to call joe ugly for no reason, it's immature to make jokes about his lack of an oscar, and so on.

but fans have no control over taylor's actions or joe's reputation. MOST fans are not actually being insane about it, and we can't control the ones who harass either of them.

f1wags After a brief hiatus from social media, y/n makes a cameo on her friend's IG Live today! In today's live, she spilled the beans on some questions about her christmas holiday in Australia and the short getaway in Japan with Oscar. She couldn't help but gush about the incredible experience—her first time in Australia. Oscar played the perfect tour guide, showing her around his hometown and introducing her to his family. He also told us about their short getaway in Japan. Y/N explained that they haven't seen each other for more than two weeks as Oscar is already back to work—busy with meetings, simulator sessions, and prepping for the upcoming F1 season at the McLaren Technology Centre, and she have to return to her work and projects too.

And can we just say, we're glad the couple is still in good terms after the recent not-so-great rumors?

Pitch Perfect 1 & 2, 2012-15. He played Benji in case you somehow weren't aware. Just the best part of the entire franchise, is all.

Ricki and the Flash, 2015. Daniel, a small role. Had to act smitten with Meryl Streep, and let's be honest it wasn't even acting.

Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk, 2016. Haven't seen this one. Bet he's the best part though.

Drunk Parents, 2019. He's barely in this one, but is still easily the best part.

Run This Town, 2020. A wild indie film about Canadian dirty politics. He plays Bram, a baby journalist trying to get a big scoop to prove himself in the industry. Jennifer Ehle has to heartlessly fire him, and she should have won an Oscar for not bursting into tears and apologizing when he looks at her like 🥺.

Ben Platt Live at Radio City Music Hall, 2020. Yes, this is a whole-ass movie. You asked me, so I can count it if I want to. Life-changing, and the next best thing to being actually in the room with him at a concert.

Father of the Bride Part 3(ish), 2020. We love a good Quarantine Project.

Broken Diamonds, 2021. Plays Scott, and will rip your heart out.

Dear Evan Hansen, 2021. Not a word against this film. It's beautiful, and the haters are wrong. Every unbiased person I've forced to watch it (a considerable number at this point) has been blown away by it and terribly confused when I told them the internet decided it was bad.

The People We Hate at the Wedding, 2022. I read the book last year and y'all. I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. He'll be playing Paul, and the role is perfection for him. Paul is a funny, obnoxious, sweet, salty, anxiety-riddled basket-case who low-key gets to be the hero at the end.

Theater Camp. If you haven't seen the short film he and his friends made yet, you just won't understand why I am absolutely frothing at the mouth over this one. Two black turtle necks. That's all I have to say. It also includes a wild Noah Galvin, who is practically my son-in-law, so. Excited about that.

Merrily We Roll Along. I'm way too excited for a movie that won't be released until I'm like forty years old. 😭

Ana’s not going to win the Oscar. Her acting was super lame tbh. They just did that to fill the quota, while ignoring Viola Davis… zero news here, The Academy is super racist, and while Ana is Cuban, she’s still white, given her family emigrating to Cuba from Spain.

On another note, this whole CE mess is entertaining, however it’s starting to bore the shit out of me. I’m going to be honest and say that I am a hater 😈😈😈. I was seriously a stan of him, but damn has any artist fallen out of my grace as fast as him. I believe this rs is 100% real, and that also says a lot about him and his character.
