Okay. So. I've been seeing people say that Oscar is underperforming. Y'ALL WHAT?

If we're talking about just this race, we're not going to talk about who's at fault for the touch that hit Oscar's front wing. However, he went from 19th to 13th in, like, 14 laps. That is good

Additionally, this is his second season in F1. I think that people are forgetting that, because he's doing so well. People are comparing him with Lando (obviously), and Carlos, and Lewis, who all have so many more years of experience than he does

To add on to my point, Oscar scored 97 points in his rookie season (we're looking at # of points instead of standings, because I feel like that's more fair). The only driver on the current grid to score more in their rookie season was Lewis Hamilton with 92 points. Max scored 49. Also in his rookie season, he won a sprint. Against Max.

Of course, Oscar will probably place lower than Lando. It makes sense. This is Lando's 6th season, it's Oscar's 2nd, and Lando will get priority. It's just how it works

Outside of F1, Oscar is insane. He won the Formula Renault Eurocup, Formula 3 championship, and the Formula 2 championship in successive rookie years. He's the first driver in history to ever do that. Like, dude is insane

Basically, in conclusion, Oscar is not underperforming. If anything, it feels like he's overperforming. He's doing very well

Oscar got his first proper race win in Hungary - overshadowed by his own team's fucked-up strategy

short Loscar drabble

‘I missed you’ Logan whispers to Oscar the second he notices the camera had moved on from them and the others in their little group were roped into their own little conversations, 

‘Oh really?’ Oscar gives him a look, and Logan studies his face, the face he hasn’t seen in a while, a face he misses. ‘You never texted me back, last time we talked was your birthday Logan.’ Oscar was Oscar, great at everything even at controlling his facial expression to a neutral polite smile, if Logan hadn’t known Oscar his whole life he wouldn’t have been able to tell that Oscar was mad.

‘They took my phone away. James thinks the hate was getting to me towards the end of the season. He thought that a little time away from my phone would help’ Oscar eyes soften at that, his eyes searching something in Logan’s face, 

‘Did it?’ there’s a real smile hiding behind the polite, pr, smile Oscar has plastered on his face, 

‘Yeah. I think it did. I even gained like 11 kg’ he can feel Oscar eyes roaming up and down his body studying him.

‘Checking out your friend, Piastri’ Oscar startles when his teammate claps him on the back, eyes wide like a deer— a Koala in headlights. 

‘I get it Oscar, our Logie bear gained 11 kg and all of it went to his ass’ Alex chimed in, and Pierre gave a little whistle and Logan couldn’t help the heat that quickly traveled up his cheeks. 

‘Logie bear?’ Oscar finally looks up from the ground, a mischievous glint in his eyes,

‘Yeah. Logie bear, it’s what the fans have been calling him. Cute right?’ Logan wanted to run away from this conversation but the soft little giggle that escaped Oscar’s kept him there, at least Oscar was laughing now, even if it’s at him. 

‘That is fucking hilarious, mate’ Lando leans onto his teammate as he wipe a stray tears from his eyes and Logan want to argue that its not that funny. 

‘Glad you guys find amusing’ Logan smiles, his eyes met with his best friend and everything feels so right again, even if it’s just for a few minutes.

Oscar Appreciation post

I've been thinking about this since last night, so y'all will have to hear it too: Oscar piastri is such an amazing guy.

And no, i dont just say that because he's handsome but he's genuinely such a nice, reliable person. Also remember: He's the youngest out of the bunch, but this guy is so mature/chill and knows the weight of his words and actions.

You know when you meet someone and you just feel that they dont think before they talk? It's the exact opposite with Oscar. (Even if he often looks like there's no thoughts behind those eyes)

You can tell that he thinks about what he wants to say and then selectively chooses what to say. I know a smart person when i see one, and he definitely is one. Fuckin love this guy, istg.
