In brief: Gypaetus barbatus Also known as 'ossifrage' or 'lammergeier' and, culturally, 'Huma' (a mythical bird from Iranian legend). 70-90% of its diet is bone. They can appear with bright red heads, due to rubbing themselves against iron-rich soil. Their wingspans can reach over 9 feet in breadth.

Now and then the serfs of the vultures have enough of the red stains on everything and have to hose off their marines.

Bath day is dreaded by all. They worked hard on that paint and dirt.

Space Vultures are fond of their serfs and keep a lot of personal serfs, while not exactly salamanders or black krakens, they wouldn't risk loosing their serf (who loots things for them from battlefields and are prized for being good at finding things) by hurting them, so their only defense against the dreaded bath is to flee and hide. (/j but like, only a little lol)
