Life slows down once everyone is safely back on Pabu, and maybe now it’s time to start focusing on what you both want for the future.

“I can put a replacement in immediately if you’d like?” The doctor asked, turning in his chair, ready to remove the expired birth control implant buried in your upper arm.
“Urm…” You paused, not entirely sure what you wanted to do. Honestly, you’d forgotten about the small plastic rod under your skin until Hunter had offhandedly commented that you smelt a little sweeter this cycle.
He sat beside you now, warm brown eyes sliding in your direction as the doctor waited for your answer. With nothing to do this afternoon, he’d offered to come with you to the appointment you’d made at Pabu’s only clinic. After four years at his side, having been assigned as the squad’s civilian handler at the start of the war, nothing was sacred anymore. Even more so after you’d fallen into bed together two years ago.
Two years of waking up next to each other, of stolen kisses and wandering hands, of knowing looks and being railed against the nearest surface. Two years of ‘I love you’ and ‘stay safe out there.’
During the war, the two of you had discussed a family late at night, tucked away in a bunk together, voices whisper soft and full of hope.
Now, life had slowed. After rescuing Crosshair, Omega, and Tech from Mount Tantiss, you’d slipped off the Empire’s radar and had settled down properly on the tropical island. You had a home and a routine, were on a first-name basis with the locals, and even snagged a teaching job at the school.
Eyes shifting to meet Hunter’s, you chew on the inside of your lip. Was now a good time? Would your baby be safe, or would the Empire come sniffing if they caught wind of a child of an enhanced clone?
“It’s your choice, cyar’ika.” He states, his mouth’s corners turning into a devastatingly handsome smile. “It’s your body.” He adds. You know his stance on having a family, Maker above you play into often when he’s buried deep inside you late at night, but this feels like a pivotal moment in your relationship.
Holding his gaze, you’re not quite sure what you’re searching for – but you can see so much in his eyes. All the trust and love he has for you, all the support. At first, it had been terrifying to have someone believe in you so much, but your self-worth and confidence flourished over the last four years.
He’d be an incredible father. You’d already seen it from his interactions with Omega, how the young girl pulled all those paternal traits out of him. He’d go to the ends of the galaxy to keep you and your baby safe, of that you were sure.
Contentment seeped through your body, a feeling of rightness settling in your gut. You wanted a family too, and you loved each other - had been to hell and back for each other. You shifted your attention to the waiting doctor. “Don’t bother replacing it.” You tell him, hearing Hunter inhale sharply, the armrest of his chair creaking as his grip tightened on it at your words.
The doctor gave you a knowing look as he swabbed a disinfectant pad over your upper arm. “Normally, I encourage my patients to use other contraception, but something tells me that advice would fall on deaf ears.”
You make a slight noise of agreement, glancing over at Hunter as the doctor quickly removes the small implant. Your eyes take in the way he’s watching the little piece of plastic being removed, his fingers flexing against the arms of the chair, his Adam’s apple bobbing as the implant is pulled free of your body. And then those dark eyes find yours and steal your breath.
It was the right decision.
He’s on you the moment you get home, not even giving you time to properly shut the front door. Rough hands grasp your body, lips finding yours for a passionate kiss – there’s no finesse to it; it’s needy and messy, noses bumping and tongues meeting.
Buttons are undone; his shirt hits the floor, and his shoes and pants follow. Strong hands cup your ass and lift you, lips still pressed desperately against yours as he carries you a few steps further into the house, laying you on the couch and following you down. Your kiss breaks long enough for him to pry your dress up and off, lips meeting again before the garment even has the chance to hit the floor. He’s back on you, using one hand to prop himself up above you.
“Fuck, cyar’ika.” Hunter’s voice is low and smoky as his mouth moves to your jawline, light kisses peppered across it before he works down your throat, nipping gently at your delicate skin. Your chest heaves with each breath, mind spinning as your hand’s card through his hair, nails dragging across his scalp, eliciting a small hiss of pleasure and pain from him.
A needy whine breaks free, your hips lifting as you desperately seek some friction. Hunter matches your actions, grinding his hard-on against your thigh as he reaches the juncture where your neck and shoulder meet. He bites down a little harder this time, your moan filling the air, pulling a growl from him as his tongue laves over the mark. The light sweetness to your scent is still there, but he knows it’ll only get stronger as the artificial hormones make their way out of your system. He can’t wait to bask in it.
Your bra is slung over the edge of the couch, hands cupping your breasts as Hunter’s mouth continues downwards, leaving a trail of kisses. Shivers skitter down your spine as he licks across the soft mounds, dragging the flat of his tongue across your rapidly hardening nipples. Drawing one into his mouth, he sucks, scraping his teeth gently across it. The pleasure makes you gasp, back arching as you chase the warmth of his mouth.
Forefinger and thumb tweak your other nipple, the double onslaught making you whimper. Hunter smiles against your breast, enjoying how easy it is to pull such delicious sounds from you. Downwards, he continues, scooting back a little on the couch to press more kisses across the softness of your stomach, yet he pauses for a second just below your belly button.
The actual reality of it slams into him. That damn implant is no longer in your arm, and while it might take a few cycles for your hormone levels to settle back into their natural state, his child could soon be growing here, nurtured by your beautiful body. He moans at the thought, hands moving to kneed gently at your belly.
Gazing down your body, you watch as the man you love laves attention to your stomach. You might’ve pulled away, self-consciousness flaring a little in the past, but you know why he’s doing it. You know the thoughts that are swirling through his mind. You reach down with one hand, fingers tangling in his hair, pushing his bandana off. You snag it with your free hand, sliding it down your wrist, knowing how much he loves seeing you wearing it.
It has the desired effect. Hunter catches the motion, groaning as the band of red fabric rests around your wrist, possessiveness flaring low in his gut and his hips flex, hard cock grinding against your leg again. Deft fingers pry your panties down, and he buries his face between your thighs moments later, turning his head to scatter kisses on your inner thighs. His stubble’s roughness contrasts with his tongue’s softness, and your hips buck in anticipation, desire building further inside you.
He presses forward, burying his face against your pussy as he inhales deeply, growling as your scent floods his nostrils. Tongue dragging through your soaked folds, his nose presses against your clit, and you grind against it, knowing how much he loves you riding his face. Fingers fan over your thighs to keep your legs open as he devours you, his tongue circling your entrance a few times before plunging in, pulling back a moment later to flick it over your clit, making you shudder. He repeats the action several times, driving you crazy with need.
Mouth finally staying on your clit, he presses two fingers into you, crooking them, rubbing your g-spot. The angle is perfect, and between his talented hands and hungry mouth, you’re done for. “Hunter!” You cry out his name, your release slamming into you. Your hips and thighs shake, your chest rising and falling rapidly as the pleasure sweeps you up, searing through your veins.
Smug satisfaction paints Hunter’s handsome face as he slows, lapping up your release before he takes his mouth off you, though he continues to lazily pump his fingers in and out of you, feeling the way you spasm around them as you come down from the high. “You have no idea how fucking badly I want to cum inside you.” He rasps, the smokiness of his voice amplified.
Catching your breath, you’re mesmerised by the intensity of his gaze. Biting down on your lower lip, a thrill runs through you. “I think you should show me.” You challenge.
His growl is feral, your pussy clenching at the sound. Fingers slide out of you as he reaches for your wrists, grasping them as he hauls your arms up, pinning them against the couch above your head. Quickly, he ties his bandana around them, a smirk tilting his lips.
Softness creeps across his features momentarily as he looks down at you beneath him, and you know what he’s asking. “Havoc.” You re-confirm your safe word. You were entirely comfortable with this and had been the hundreds of times you’d done it before, but he always double-checked.
Shifting back to sit on his knees between your thighs, Hunter’s hands smooth across your body. You hadn’t been made for war or the frontlines, even though you’d insisted all those years ago on being out there with him and his brothers. You were softer, unable to take as many hits, making him want to protect you all the more.
You relax against the couch, content to let him lead, trusting him implicitly. He catches you off guard as he dips his head down, taking one of your nipples in his mouth, tongue swirling around the pebbled bud. Back arching, you huff a breath, squirming as his hands grasp your hips. His lips trail upwards, across your neck, leaving a mark on the other side to the one he’d made earlier. The sweet moan you let out is music to his sensitive ears.
“The way you sound pinned under me…fuck. Your moans are so pretty, cyar’ika. Can hear your heart racing too.” Hunter’s eyes close momentarily, losing one sense, further heightening the rest of them. He breathes in your scent once more, using one hand to pry your thighs further apart, dragging the velvety head of his cock through your slick folds. “So needy for me. This what you want?” He can’t help but tease, enjoying your whimpers and eager nod.
He makes you wait for a second, that mischievous glint in his eyes part of why you fell in love with him in the first place, and then you feel him press against your entrance, inch by glorious inch pushing into you. Your moan catches in your throat, pussy stretching to accommodate him until his hips are flush against you, heavy balls resting against your ass.
Hunter grunts as he bottoms out, eyes fluttering shut once again. “Such a good girl.” He murmurs, giving you a second to adjust before he pulls back and slams back in, making you both cry out. His eyes snap open, locked on your beautiful face as he sets a punishing pace. Your breasts bounce with every thrust, your arms trapped above your head, completely at his mercy.
Fingers grasp your thighs, keeping you in place as he pounds into you. The couch creaks beneath you, but you pay it no mind, too focused on the pleasure building inside of you once again.
“Gonna fuck you every damn day until it sticks. Gonna make you a mommy.” Hunter snarls, watching your lips part, your head tipping backwards as you moan unabashedly. You clench around him, and he knows his words excite you.
He won’t last much longer, having been worked up since you’d told the doctor to remove the implant. He’d never been more grateful for loose-fitting pants in his life – walking out of the clinic with a boner was not something he wanted the island residents gossiping about.
Pulling out of you, he chuckles as you whine. “Patience, mesh’la.” He chides gently, strong hands grasping your hips as he flips you onto your front. He unties the bandana, letting it fall to the floor, and you grab at the arm of the couch as he hauls your ass up, fingernails clawing uselessly at the fabric.
On his knees behind you, Hunter pushes back in, setting a quick pace again. His balls slap against your clit with every thrust, making your back arch, ass pressing against him. “Feel you so deep.” You gasp, hearing a deep rumble of pleasure from behind you moments before a hand grasps your hair, tugging your head backwards.
A sharp sound leaves you, eyes screwed shut at the combination of pleasure and pain that erupts in your body. The warmth in your body builds, the edge drawing oh so deliciously closer. Hunter keeps a hold of you as his thrusts pick up, eyes glancing down to watch his cock slide in and out of you a few times before his free hand snakes around you to rub your clit. “I can feel you squeezing me tight. You gonna cum on my cock, baby?” His pace is relentless, hand letting go of your hair a moment later as he eases you down, your cheek pressed against the couch, back arching beautifully. The change in angle is pure perfection.
“Hunter!” You cry out his name for the second time this afternoon as the pleasure crescendos, your body clenching around him, muscles spasming as you climax.
With your body clamped around his cock, Hunter gives two final thrusts before he stills and presses himself against you, shoving in as deep as he can with a grunt as he cums. His thighs shake as the pleasure washes over him, cock twitching as he fills you.
The sound of both of your ragged breaths fills the room, and the pair of you spend a moment catching your breath. Gentle hands smooth across your back after a moment. “Keep that ass up, cyar’ika. Don’t waste any, even though there’s plenty more where that came from.” Hunter murmurs, folding himself over you as he drags his lips across your shoulder blade, tongue laving at your skin and the thin sheen of sweat on your body.
You let out a little noise of agreement, tilting your hips a fraction to ensure none of his release can escape. It draws a deep chuckle from him, and you bask in the sound.
“I love you.” He whispers, warm breath brushing against your ear as you feel him ease out of you, his softening cock resting against your ass.
“I love you too.” You reply quietly, head tilting to capture his lips in a sweet kiss as his hands slide around your body, resting against your stomach.
As the kiss breaks, he presses his forehead to your back, warm hands rubbing gentle circles against your belly. “Stay like this a little longer, baby.” He insists, the quiet sounds of your synced-up breathing the only noise in the room.
You know it won’t take, but you stay still anyway, soaking in the moment and the feel of his body pressed against you, safe and happy in your little slice of paradise.

I'll tell you how it's possibly going to end (because I've seen enough catastrophising and worst case scenario thoughts on here to last me a lifetime)
Dee Bradley Baker teased that the ending is "bittersweet", didn't he? And that the way the epilogue plays out is "affecting and beautiful". That "the emotions that are in play are real, human emotions, not just one of being a family member or a friend, but also of being a father, a father to a daughter."
Bittersweet means not everything is good but not everything is bad either. Which means that the finale doesn't have to end in only tragedy. Yes, there will be hurt, we might lose someone. But the end might actually be full of hope.
And isn't Star Wars all about hope?
They're going to bring it full circle. In episode 2 of season 1 - the very beginning of the show - the Batch visits Cut and Suu and the whole episode is essentially about them teaching Hunter how to be a parent and forcing him to look at his new responsibility from a different angle. They recognize his paternal instincts immediately, they see how he is with Omega and give him a lot of advice, saying things that stay with Hunter for the entirety of the show moving forward and affect his choices and reasoning. Cut is the one who makes Hunter realize that he has to do what's best for the kid. Cut is the one who gives him the idea of leaving the soldier life behind and finding, and I quote, "a remote piece of land on a distant planet." Like Pabu! Suu warns him that kids have a tendency to find trouble. They tell him he has no idea what he's in for but they also show him how to do it right.
Hunter's only priority since then has been keeping Omega safe and away from the war, away from the Empire, settling down and giving her the normal life she deserves. A thought instilled in him by Cut, who did the exact same thing - left the war behind, settled down and put his family first. It became Hunter's sole purpose, his main character arc, becoming a father and embracing the role is pretty much all he is about.
The finale will remind us of that.
Now, we won't avoid tragedy. That's granted at this point. There will be death, there will heartbreak. Nothing will ever be the same again. But every end is a new beginning.
Maybe we'll lose Crosshair, Maybe we'll lose Wrecker. Maybe both, hopefully neither. But no matter the final outcome, the very end is going to be about Hunter and Omega. The hunt for her will be over, the target on her back might be gone but they can't go back to Pabu, they won't risk it. So Rex and Echo track down Cut. Find him on a remote piece of land on distant planet, just like he said. And they arrange everything.
I can see them landing. Hunter stepping out in civil clothes, with a bag over his shoulder. He shakes hands with Cut, Omega runs to hug the kids. The atmosphere is sad and melancholic but everyone knows it's for the best.
Maybe they move to a house next door, maybe they live nearby. Hunter puts Omega to bed, lets Batcher lay down at her feet. He sits by her side until she's asleep and then steps out onto the porch where Cut is already waiting. They share a drink and a conversation, calling back to everything they've been talking about in 1x02 and how Hunter's view of things has changed since then. Now he understands his role in Omega's life. Understands the sacrifices he had to make and knows with full certainty he would make them again.
We haven't seen or heard about Cut since his episode, so a whole show ago. To bring him back in the finale and tie it all together? End it like that, in a full circle moment? It would be perfect.
And it fits to what Dee was saying, because this kind of ending is affecting, is beautiful, and most of all, it is bittersweet. Because at last Hunter gets his wish. He gets to raise Omega away from the war, give her a normal life and a happy childhood - but at the cost of losing everything else.
This might just be wishful thinking but I really hope this is where we're headed.

Legend of Korra team Avatar with a mute or deaf partner
Request by @ultravioletqueen
Korra
Tumblr media
- Loves to make you laugh, whether it's a loud laugh or just an exhale of breath she loves to do it as much as possible. She thinks your laugh is adorable. - Korra knows a lot of sign language but is working at becoming fluent because she wants to be able to communicate with you to the fullest extent. She also finds it extremely useful in her Avatar duty as it opens her up to the non-verbal and non-hearing community. - Arguments are really funny because Korra loves to provoke people and verbally argue when angry but you don't take the bait and can easily block her out. You can also non-verbally argue much better than she can so get your way most of the time. - You balance each other out well as Korra is always pretty rash, loud and aggressive whereas you take more time to process words and behaviour. As a result Korra has learned to be calmer from you but will also react on your behalf if someone is ever being rude. - You communicate a lot through your bending. Korra is pretty much an expert at bending forms and you both get a lot from sparring together. - Gets you to read all her Avatar speeches because you're a lot better at communicating than her. - Loves showing off her Avatar powers to impress you. You used to do weights together but that turned out to be a bad idea because Korra would get too distracted trying to get you to check her out. - You're very close to Tenzin and Korra's Republic City family as the air nation is the most inclusive nation and they understand your lifestyle. You love having game nights over at Air Temple island because 1. you and Korra crush it every time and 2. they all know sign language and so all night use your language rather than you having to adapt for them.
Bolin
Tumblr media
- Very talkative, definitely talks enough for the both of you but importantly always looks for responses whether that's signing, nods, smiles or any preferred form of communication. He never talks at you but has a conversation with you - Loves to learn more about your experience and the first time he met you he definitely bored all his friends with random facts he'd learnt for like a month. - Refuses to ever let you apologise or feel odd for being different. He's always the first person to tell you you're beautiful and valid no matter if you're deaf or mute - Will literally do anything if you ask him to. At first, Bolin would need a few helpful hints at how he can change his behaviour to be more inclusive but he'd always be receptive to any suggestion you gave him. - Bolin really struggles to use sign language but attends classes and practices every day. You actually really love helping him learn because Bolin never gets frustrated or annoyed. He just tries again and his reaction when he gets it is wonderful. - The only thing that annoys him is Pabu listens to you more than him. He can be calling him for ages but all you have to do is gently stamp your foot and he comes running. - Always notices you. You met when he was a pro-bender and there could be hundreds of fans screaming his name but his eyes will always go straight to you and a smile from you is enough to put him in a good mood for hours.
Asami
Tumblr media
- Extremely attentive, to the extent you just have to make a face or look at her and she can guess from the situation what you need. - Would probably invent you tons of cool contraptions just to make your life easier e.g. a bed that shakes when your alarm goes off or a machine that communicates for you in public. - Asami learned sign language in like a week after she met you, she's just that good. - She never presumes to answer for you just because you're mute/deaf. She always lets you answer when someone asks a question and only jumps in if you ask her to. She knows you are capable and never patronises you. - Teaches you how to play pai sho and instantly regrets it. While she can usually read you well there's no deciphering your poker face and her cries of protest just make you smirk. - Loves treating you to gifts and surprises. Asami is rich af and so you receive amazing personalised presents at every special occasion. - She seems really strong on the outside but is more vulnerable and soft with you. You're her support system and she comes to you whenever she's stressed or nervous about something. You're an excellent shoulder to cry on and she values your advice over anyone else's. - Similarly you also feel you can show your weaknesses around Asami. Being different you often felt like you had to always prove you were just as good as a non-deaf/non-mute person to be worthy. With Asami it's not like that, she makes you realise you're already perfect which helps you laugh more when you do make mistakes. For example one day Asami got a call from your neighbours because you were blasting music without realising how loud it was. When she rushed home to tell you, you both found it hilarious and it became a running joke between you.
Mako
Tumblr media
- Protective, when you go out in public he makes you walk on the inside of the street in case a car comes too close and you can't hear it/don't realise. - Isn't a naturally noisy or talkative person so really likes the quiet and doesn't struggle adjusting at all. He actually gets overwhelmed when he leaves your home at how noisy people are. - Decides the non-verbal and non-hearing community need better treatment so meets with Beifong about having all officers learn sign language. Mako himself is of course fluent in sign language and the two of you have tons of shortcuts and signs the two of you invented yourself. - Finds it easier to open up to you than other people. Mako has never been good with words and so he finds a freedom in communicating with you. You know more about him than anyone else does. - Only introduces you to his friends after you've been dating a while not because he's nervous for them to meet you but because he's nervous for you to meet them! He considers himself pretty lucky to have met you and doesn't want them to scare you off. So he's overly cautious but when you do meet them of course you all get along great. Mako was worried for nothing. - Learns to read the micro-expressions and body language you convey. According to Mako you have ten different types of smiles, he loves your really big smile but his favourite is your small embarrassed smile when he catches you doing something cute and he loves complimenting you on it. - Mako has never been an animal person but you convince him to get a cat and he loves the thing! You name her Sheddy Shin because she sheds so much hair which Mako finds hilarious (you call her shed for short).

So, I’ve been texting my dad (mostly) spoiler free summaries of The Bad Batch all season, each with a different theme (bad batch episodes as Disney park rides, bad batch episodes so far as out of context Wrecker lines, etc), and the last one was just me trying to make the episodes as mundane as possible. Which basically went like:
1. The Spoils of War: A questionable middle-manager tempts her employees with the sizeable performance bonus.
2. The Ruins of War: Mom horrified to learn that their daughter took him literally while their brother refuses to acknowledge a medical emergency.
3. The Solitary Clone: Depressed man who hates his job and never gets a lunch break is forced to deal with the woman who keeps ignoring all the “under new management” signs.
4. Faster: Gifted pilot reveals that he is no more responsible than either the man child or the literal child he was left to supervise.
5. Entombed: Child convinces her aunt to take her to a high tech corn maze; exhausted dad reluctantly tags along.
6. Tribe: Dad Squad steps in to help with a carpool.
7. The Clone Conspiracy: Career soldiers contemplate retirement.
8. Truth and Consequences: Wanted criminals break in to the world’s most dangerous Blockbuster to find a rare video.
9. The Crossing: Family goes spelunking in Space Moab.
10. Retrieval: Demolitions expert is so hangry he accidentally stumbled into a Dickens novel.
11. Metamorphosis: Four idiots go out of their way to prove that they have never seen a horror movie.
12. The Outpost: New transfer goes birdwatching in the snow.
13. Pabu: Broke ne’erdowells eat sushi.
14. Tipping Point: Responsible big brother teaches little sister how to drive the family car while one brother grabs dinner and the other has a doctor’s appointment.

The Bad Batch S2 Rewatch: Pabu
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Phee doesn't tell the batch what they need as a family. She shows them by example and by letting them draw their own conclusions. She's helping them unlearn thinking strictly as soldiers with tactical objectives. Some examples I picked up during my rewatch:
Phee takes them as far from the Empire as possible, where other displaced families have made a life under the radar.
She puts her "pirating" activities in a different light with the batch by revealing that she's acquiring items for the benefit and cultural preservation of the refugees.
Teaching them by example that helping others is important even if you're not personally affected by their struggles, and:
That the preservation of all cultures and art is worth much more than money.
She introduces Hunter to Shep, a single father who's successful in his career and serves his community while raising a happy, well-adjusted daughter.
Introduces Tech and Wrecker to Shep and Lyanna, regular people who aren't clones and who are friendly and don't judge them. Incidentally, up until they met Suu Lawquane and later, Romar, the batch mostly had bad experiences with the regular citizens of the galaxy (Cid, Rafa Martez, Roland Durand).
Phee introduces Omega to another girl her age, Lyanna. It allows her brothers to see how happy it makes Omega to have a little friend and that it's good for both girls.
Shep teaches them that there's more to being a parent than providing necessities and protection. Fun, hospitality, and playtime also teach kids independence (as well as the batch).
In Shep, a big man with a big heart, generous and caring who enjoys relaxing with friends, Wrecker discovers a friend who accepts him as he is. Others in Pabu also befriend Wrecker.
Tech discovers that much of the knowledge he has can be useful to rebuild communities, infrastructure and help people rather than solely for war.
Phee encourages Omega to explore and enjoy nature and wildlife away from her brothers.
She essentially gives Tech and Hunter permission to relax and take time to enjoy the simple things, like twinkling lights at sunset.
The community effort to work together saved them from the destruction of the earthquake and sea surge. This is a brand new experience for the "trust nobody but your squad" batch.
They learned thst community is vital during unpredictable life events, and:
Staying together as a community and sharing resources provides a sense of safety and security regardless of the circumstances.
It's important as a member of any community to help strangers, children, elderly and disabled, risking your own life to do so. Very different than prioritizing your fellow clones over the local people during combat.
The batch experienced being part of a community, giving more than money: each one shared their time, skills, labor, food, and friendship.
These are just a few of the things that stood out to me.
Wrecker sensing the earthquake along with Hunter was also a surprise. He turned to Hunter just as he looked around, and then Wrecker also turned as well. It made me wonder if he sensed the movement or if he heard the noise that accompanies large earthquakes. And just what abilities their enhancements give them.
It struck me that Pabu is the first inhabited planet the batch has visited that was untouched by war - no garrison, no scarred landscape, no Empire, no clone troopers on duty. It struck me that they've probably never seen what peace actually looks like for the citizens of the galaxy. It's a deeply sad realization.
Please feel free to share anything you noticed to this post. 😊

You Are Not Alone
Crosshair x Reader
📢 It can contain SEASON 3 spoilers
Tumblr media
Even though staying in Pabu was right for him, Crosshair didn't feel right there.
His trembling hand made him feel useless.
He didn't want to admit it because it was hard to accept, but he felt that way.
AZ, Omega, and even Omega's pet tried to help him feel better without success in their attempts, while the reader just decided to give him space.
That didn't mean the reader wasn't frustrated.
It was frustrating, but there wasn't much to do if he didn't want to be open about his feelings, and that needed to be respected.
When pressure and frustration were present, the reader used to sing, so the reader started singing while looking at Pabu's ocean:
*I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger,*
*Traveling through this world of woes.*
While the reader was singing, the reader didn't notice Crosshair passing by. He stopped when he heard the reader singing and decided to listen maintaining distance.
*There is no sickness, no toil, no danger,*
*In that bright land to which I go.*
*I'm going there to see my mother,*
(Crosshair started to get close to the reader.)
*She said she'd meet me when I come.*
*I'm just a-goin' over Jordan,*
*I'm just a-goin' over home.*
When Crosshair came next to the reader, and before the reader could continue singing, he said, "I didn't know you sing."
The reader looked at Crosshair and said, "I do; it relaxes me."
Crosshair sat next to the reader and asked, "Are you worried about Omega?"
The reader stared at Crosshair and said, "It's not only about her."
"Is it about me too?" Crosshair asked.
The reader nodded slowly, looking at Crosshair.
He sighed.
"You don't need to worry about me. I will get out of this," he said.
"Alone? I don't think so," the reader said.
Crosshair sighed and started to get up when the reader told him before he could leave, "I know you are strong, Crosshair. You don't have to prove it, but sometimes even the strongest are afraid."
"Do you think I am afraid?" Crosshair asked, looking into the eyes of the reader with an angry expression.
The reader nodded and gave little pats on Crosshair's right shoulder. "Once you face those fears, you will find peace."
Crosshair expression slowly got soft
"How can I face those fears?" Crosshair asked with a calm voice, almost like the voice of a child asking for help.
The reader answered, "Well, Omega and I can teach you some techniques but in the end you choose your style."
"I won't like those techniques, right?" Crosshair said
"You don't like anything, sniper," the reader said.
Crosshair gave a small smirk and said, "You are right about that, scientist."

I just. The theme of guilt. In Hunter. And Wrecker. And Crosshair. These three specifically.
Hunter is the one who calls the final shot. Makes the final decision. It's his word.
He had to make them leave Crosshair on Kamino. He had to make them work for Cid on dangerous mission after dangerous mission. He had to make Tech leave him behind. He had to choose not to trust Crosshair. He had to choose to let them sit in watertight chambers they didn't know would work. He had to make them leave Crosshair again. Hunter picks and chooses everything. He has to make the calls. He has to pull through. He has to prioritise.
He helped Tech get on top the rail cart.
Do you ever wonder how many times these decisions play through his head? The amount of sleepless nights, tossing and turning, thinking over and over about what he could have changed? Could have fixed? He could have saved Crosshair from the beginning, he could have avoided Cid. He could have found Phee and Pabu another way, he could have stayed with Rex. Things didn't need to happen the way they did.
Tech didn't have to die. Crosshair didn't have to be stuck with Hemlock.
These are the things Hunter mulls over, countless nights, days, hours, spent thinking of what could he have done different? He'll never be able to go back. He'll never be able to change.
He barely got to teach Omega anything. She, full of life, full of joy and wonder, lost to monsters Hunter was supposed to protect her from. And in the end, Omega was lost trying to protect him.
Him, who could hardly keep his brothers from falling other the edge. Literally and figuratively.
Hunter's lost everything. And he can only blame himself.
And Wrecker, sweet Wrecker. Wrecker who fought through the chips control for days. Who struggled and choked back every little instinct until it was physically impossible. Who, while holding his brother in a death grip, fought with everything he had not to kill him. It would have been so simple for him. Wrecker thinks about just how simple far too much for his liking.
Wrecker thinks about how easily he went through them. How easy it was to knock them down and beat them. Wrecker could have ended the entire squad, and no one would've ever known. Wrecker didn't even need his second hand. He thinks about that constantly.
He thinks about how hard everyone else seems to have it. How stressed Hunter is, how angry Echo became, how Tech always put himself into trouble. How Omega had begun to notice the troubles of the galaxy, and the struggle she would always have. Wrecker couldn't protect them, not from that. He tried, truly he did.
Everything from physically to mentally. Watching their backs to comforting them. Shouldering weight when he could, anything to ease the stress, to quell the pain. His strength stretched thin wasn't enough. Crosshair never came back. Echo left to fight without him. Hunter let them leave Pabu. Tech fell.
Wreckers fear had always stemmed from falling. He never imagined he'd fail to catch any of his brothers. He couldn't do anything but watch, shouldered to the side again. His strength wasn't enough again. Wrecker doesn't know what he is if not his strength.
It kills him, not knowing. Being so useless when he's meant to be in his element.
I guarantee he regrets not listening more. Not paying enough attention. Not realising just how much he'd miss it. The silence gives him time to simmer. Wrecker misses the days he didn't know that would happen.
Oh, Crosshair. I have not forgotten him.
Crosshair has watched himself hurt his brothers for maybe months. He's watched himself hunt his brothers like they were animals. All he wanted was for them to be together again. He had no idea the price was so large.
He can't separate himself from the chip. He can't separate himself from the clone that shot his brother in the arm. From the clone that almost incinerated his brothers with an ion engine. With the clone that, despite wanting to be whole, couldn't bring himself to bend his own twisted morality for them. His brothers. Who he had convinced himself he'd done all this for. He spilt this blood for them.
Why couldn't he care for them normally? Crosshair questions that every day.
Why could he care more for a reg than his own brothers? They left because he didn't want to go with them. His loyalty drove them away. And it was that loyalty that drew them back in. Drew his brother to his death. Drew Omega to the last place Crosshair wanted her to be.
He tried to make up for it, and now everything's worse than before. To Crosshair, he's once again brought about an end to their lives. He's tainted, ripped apart another part of them.
Crosshair is the reason they had to run. They could have pretended. Crosshair wouldn't have given them up. Ever. Yet his selfishness, his own personal vendettas pushed them away. Crosshair hasn't even thought to blame the system they tried to save him from.
Now, he's living with the consequences of his attempts at saving their lives. They'll never know how hard he fought for them, all they'll ever know is what happened because of it. What happened because of brotherly devotion.
Crosshair won't be able to fathom that Tech was a result of shared adoration. He'll only see it as another failure on his part. As everything he's ever done has been.
I just- guilt and the bad batch. The way its woven into their souls. It hurts me so much.

Tech Support (Tech x Reader)
Summary: Tech meets the reader on Pabu and decides the best way to show he cares is by simply doing all the technical work the reader has lined up to do.
Author's Note: this is just based off of my interpretation of Tech. Hopefully it's okay. I'm thinking there may be a part two. You know, a little wine and dine, a little smut, a little bit of Echo. Who knows.
Warnings: None, this is just straight fluff. Couple of swear words, if you don't like those, well... tough luck. I swear.
Word Count: 7.2 K (oops, again)
Tumblr media
You sat under the famous tree of Pabu and scratched the chalk calmly across the paper. You began furiously blending the contours of his face, his cheeks, his jaw, as you remembered them in your mind. But you had only seen him from a distance and currently, he was up in the sky teaching Omega how to fly. So no chance of sketching from a distance, as you'd previously done. The ship frantically swooped low in the sky, causing a sudden gust of wind to bustle around you, flipping the page of sketchbook slightly. You enjoyed the sensation as the hairs on your arm stood on end as the sudden cool chill swept over you. Your head hit the bark as the Marauder rushed past you, disappearing into the distance of the sparse clouds.
The sun shone wildly as it so often did on Pabu. A little piece of paradise that you were now grateful to call home. You raised your hand to cover your eyes as you watched the ship disappear.
As the Marauder span off into the distance and disappeared, your eyes immediately fell back down to your sketchpad, and you continued to work on his jaw line. You had to keep trying to recall his features from memory. You remembered the strong and sharp line of his jaw, the intensity of his large goggles neatly lined on his face; you remembered his soft brown eyes and indulgent yet thin lips. You tried to remember that soft smile you'd seen afforded to Omega and his brothers on occasion. You tried to remember everything you could as you sketched his face on the paper before you. But even after all the recollection, after all the trouble, time and toil of your work, you still weren't happy with it; something still wasn't quite right.
But you'd only ever seen him from a distance. So how could it possibly be truly accurate? You sighed, wishing you had the confidence to approach him. Introduce yourself. Tell him you admire him. That you thought he was handsome. That you had the confidence to invite him to dinner. But you didn't. So, you simply admired him from a distance, whenever you could. More often than not, this was when he was working on the Marauder. You could sit in this very spot and watch him intently as he worked. You chose moments where you knew he was enraptured in his work that he wouldn't notice your gaze. You knew how to choose those moments because you'd experienced them too. Those moments of total focus on technological development. Your enjoyment of art was not your only skill.
Suddenly, the Marauder swooped towards you, wings raised for landing. Clunking down with a solid thud, it landed.
Well, at least her landings are improving, you reasoned with yourself. Though you had noticed a number of people running from the landing sight. Probably a sensible solution, given her previous attempts.
Whilst you couldn’t muster the courage to speak with her brother, you’d become quite close to Omega. Her outgoing and courageous personality made it almost impossible not to know her and care for her. As the gangplank, you couldn’t stop your eyes from watching the entranceway. Your sketchpad fell limp in your fingers as you watched. Omega came bounding off, as she very often did. A wide grin spread across her face. Flying lessons were her favourite thing at the moment and based on the way she was flying, you could see why.
Then you waited. Waited for Tech to emerge and when he did, you couldn’t help but giggle. He stumbled slightly, hand reaching to fix his out of place goggles as he clung to the frame of the ship. You only ever saw him this undone when he had been flying with Omega. When his eyes drifted towards you, you looked down quickly and began stroking at the chalk on the page. Hopefully he hadn’t noticed you staring.
Unfortunately, in your panic at being caught, you hadn’t noticed Omega approaching you and when she burst out a ‘hello’, you jumped a mile out of your skin, throwing your sketching pad up in the air and it flew away from you. “Oh, sorry!” She said, as she reached sheepishly for your sketch pad.
Oh shit, you groaned inwardly. She held it in her hand for a moment as she looked intently at the drawing on the page.
“This is Tech,” she said as she looked at the drawing. All you could muster was a nod, dreading whatever question came next. But there wasn’t one. She simply said, “this is amazing! You’re really talented.” As she handed the sketchpad back to you, she asked, “have you met him yet? I didn’t think you knew each other.”
“We, uh, don’t know each other, no.” You mumbled quickly, “I just noticed him the other day and thought he had an interesting face.” An interesting face, seriously, you thought painfully, is that seriously the best you could come up with?
Well at least you'd made it seem like the fixation was recent.
That’s when you noticed it and your heart began thudding in your chest. Tech had spotted Omega with you and had decided to approach, to find out what had caused a sudden and loud yelp. Your palms began to sweat, your heart racing and your head fogged over. His walk was one of subtle confidence, to call it a strut would be perhaps too critical. But there was some slight power to the way his feet pushed him forward. But that certainly did not help the incoming chaos of your mind.
“You are improving Omega,” Tech said as he finally reached you. You noted that he did not appear to be a man who opened with empty platitudes or standard greetings. But you smiled at Omega who was beaming at the compliment. His opinion being one of high import in her young life.
“The landings are certainly less chaotic,” you suddenly said, not knowing where that confidence came from, and Tech suddenly let his eyes fall on you, a small smile on his lips at you comment. Sucking in a breath, you dared to push forward. “Your teaching must be excellent,” you offered.
“I believe you are correct in your assumption.” He factually stated. He observed you for a moment before thrusting his hand towards you, “I am Tech, I do not believe we have met.” Taking his hand in yours and gently shaking it, you threw out your name speedily, simply grateful when you didn’t stutter. When he pulled his hand back, he looked at his gloved hand and noticed a grey residue on his fingers. Lifting his hand closer to his face, he brushed his fingers together and then looked at you quizzically.
You grimaced.
“I’m so sorry,” you mumbled, “it’s just chalk.”
“Yes, I had gathered it would be something of the sort.”
“I should’ve wiped my hand off or something. I’m truly sorry.” You grimaced again as you looked at him with a crimson blush on your face. He simply smiled softly at you, the corners of his lifting gently.
“Think nothing of it. Chalk will simply rub off shortly. There are far worse substances to be covered in, plastoid, acertron, gammaplast. Just to name a few. ” As he continued to rub his fingers together, he asked, “what are you using the chalk for?” Omega had been quietly watching the interaction up until this point. Fascinated by how nervous Tech seemed to make you. She’d always known you to be fairly outgoing and fierce. All the stories you told her certainly suggested you were a truly fiery person. But suddenly, you’d become exceedingly quiet and Omega was convinced she knew why.
“She’s sketching,” Omega chimed in, and Tech’s eyebrows raised at the comment. “She’s very talented. Look at her drawing of you.”
Oh no, oh please no, you begged internally. As Omega grabbed the sketchpad from your loose grasp, she thrust it towards Tech to examine, before he could even utter a word, and examine it he did. Taking it into his hands, he analysed the drawing of his features.
“This demonstrates a high level of skill, from a quantifiable perspective at least,” he offered as he continued to stare at the drawing. Suddenly, his eyes drifted from the page and back to you, the deep brown of his eyes unnerved you, “may I ask why I am the subject of such scrutiny?”
“I suppose… I have looked at you a little from a distance.”
“May I ask why?” He quickly said. Omega’s head was whipping between the two of you as you spoke, trying to figure out what was happening.
“You…” you began the sentence and realised there was only one real ending to it, “I think you have an interesting face.” There. You’d said it. Hopefully that was enough. His eyebrows seemed to rise even further than before as you said that. But you couldn’t look at him now. So, your eyes fell towards the Marauder. You just needed something to focus on that could calm you down.
As your eyes remained fixated, you felt your sketchpad fall back into your hands. Tech had reached forward and placed it there. He secretly hoped that would bring the warm gaze of your topaz eyes back to him and he was glad when it did. He smiled once more and said, “you are very talented.”
Omega was beaming suddenly, a plan was forming in her mind. “You have to join us for dinner this evening,” she announced suddenly. “Shep would love to have you, you know that.”
“Yes,” Tech affirmed, looking at Omega, “I believe you are right, Omega. I believe that we would all certainly enjoy your company for dinner this evening.”
“O-okay,” was all you could muster as you clutched onto your sketchpad. You looked at Omega and sighed out a smile, “it would be lovely to have dinner with you all.” With that, your plans for the evening had been settled.
------------------
Shep was certainly surprised to find out you had agreed to join them for dinner. It wasn’t that you were unsociable. No; it was simply that you usually dined with Romsan and Colanna, the other ‘tech’ fanatics and refugee friends of yours. As a trio, you would occasionally attend one of his dinners together. But alone? It had only happened once before, when you'd arrived. But he was certainly elated to have you join them. He always enjoyed inclusive dinners and was thrilled you felt welcomed enough to join them.
“Please make yourself at home,” he said to you as he noticed you awkwardly standing at the edge of the stone steps, “you know you’re always welcome here.” You deeply appreciated his encouragement. Your sorely beaten ego needed all the encouragement it could get. After you’d left Omega and Tech, you’d gone on to work on your attractor node. You’d been toiling away on it for months, with no success in resurrecting it from the damaged state it was in. What you hadn’t realised as you’d left for dinner was that your tool belt was still firmly around your waist.
That was the first thing Tech had noticed when you arrived. He noticed that you wore an emerald dress of a georgette looking fabric, with an exceedingly out of place and clunky tool belt around your waist. So, you’d clearly dressed for the dinner but had also been working prior to your arrival. He also took quick note of the device in your hand and presumed that the device in question was what you had been working on. Recognising certain mechanisms, his mind worked to determine its purpose.
You’d noticed Tech staring at you as you walked nervously around the table, suddenly realising why as your hands came to your waist. You quickly opted to remove the belt and place it across the wall behind the dinner table. This allowed your dress to cascade more elegantly around your body and Tech couldn’t help but notice this. He enjoyed the way your dress stirred gently against the soft breeze. Green was certainly a colour that suited you.
As dinner was served, you took a seat and found yourself seated next to Tech and you whole heartedly believe this to be the work of Omega. Course after course was served and you picked delicately at the food, not wanting to overindulge on Shep’s kindness. You made idle conversation with Wrecker about the quality of the food and with Hunter about the works going on in lower Pabu. You even chatted with Omega about her improved flying skills.
But you couldn’t muster the courage to speak to Tech and this disappointed him. You had been introduced so your reason for avoiding his gaze and conversation baffled him somewhat. He believed that of all the companions at the table, you would be able to speak to him as it appeared you may have more in common than he had originally thought.
As everyone found themselves full and content, your fingers couldn't help but drift towards the attractor node that you just couldn't seem to put down. You reached for a tool from your belt, strewn on the wall behind you, and began fiddling with the broken trigger button.
"What's that?" Omega asked as you fiddled with the heavy device that you'd lifted into your lap. You grabbed the hydrospanner from the belt behind you and began tightening a nodule. You sighed as you put the spanner down on the table, realising you truly were getting nowhere with this device. What you hadn't noticed, was that Tech had been watching you the entire time you'd be working. "It's a modified attractor node," you eventually replied, flickering your eyes towards Omega. Dinner conversation had dwindled a bit as a continued, "it simulates a gravitational pull at the same strength as the ones found in shuttle bays... or it would, if I could get it to work."
“I could fix that,” Tech announced from the seat beside you. He’d been watching you tinker away for some time, longer than he probably should’ve. But he admired watching your expertise at work. He didn’t realise that his staring hadn’t gone unnoticed by his brothers. Tech reached over and took the device from your hands. You felt the warmth of his gloved hand glide over yours as he took it securely from you. Before you could even begin to protest, Tech had taken a tool from his belt and began to work. “This device is exceedingly impressive. I wonder who designed such a miniature version of an Imperial attractor node. It is an impressive idea.”
“That would be me,” you offered up sheepishly, and Tech’s eyes snapped up to you as you spoke. He looked somewhat shocked. "It was an idea I had when the Empire rose." Not much of an explanation you realised.
“My compliments to the architect of an ingenious device. I had made the assumption that Phee had found this for you,” he explained as he continued to work. You’d both clearly disregarded the purpose of a ‘family’ dinner and focused solely on the device. Idle chatter quickly picked up around you. You watched Tech work, absolutely in awe of his skill and ability. He began taking parts of the device off and you frowned instinctively. As you went to protest that he was making it worse he simply looked up at you through the edge of his goggles, his face still down, and stated, “it needs inner configuration. I have taken the part off carefully. It is fine.” As he took off another part, he asked, “what truly lead to the creation of this device?”
“I worked for a clandestine operation briefly after the fall of the Jedi, it was useful in trapping Imperial ships. The size of this device was crucial for that, but…” you voice drifted off as you remembered the pain of the fateful night you fled, with a sigh you said, “it was damaged after we were found out.” The dinner fell eerily silent at that comment. A shared understanding of the pain caused by the Empire was apparent.
“Found out?” He probed without looking up.
“Yes. They slaughtered my friends, I… well, I barely managed to escape.” You scratched at your neck slightly, “that’s how I ended up here. The device was damaged during my escape.” With those words, Tech stopped working. Something he wasn’t prone to doing. When he looked at you, you swore you could almost see sympathy in the depths of his brown eyes. You were trying your absolute best to hold back the tears for your fallen friends.
“I am sorry about your friends,” he said, a small frown decorating his lips.
“It’s fine. I have a good home now,” you picked up your drink and raised it towards Shep, “I have a family, thanks to the good people of Pabu.” Tech’s eyes drifted between you and Shep before simply continuing with his work. He had the sudden urge to ensure this device became operational. It seemed important to you. Though why that thought motivated him, he didn’t quite know. Suddenly, your topaz eyes became fixated on his nimble fingers as he worked on the device. You took a sip of your drink, eyes remaining pinned on Tech. You didn’t notice the small smirk shared between Hunter and Wrecker as you watched.
“She is instrumental to the repairs of electronics on this island, limited though they may be,” Shep affirmed as he grinned at you. Tech’s eyes suddenly snapped up to you and he seemed to simply be evaluating you. You blushed under his intense scrutiny.
Is this how he felt when he found out I had been sketching him? You couldn’t help but wonder this as he stared at you. You decided a change of conversation was needed.
The reality of his thoughts were perhaps a little simpler than what you'd imagine. When he had discovered you sketching, he had assumed you were simply an artist. Not any kind of expert in electronics or mechanics and now it appeared, you were certainly an expert in both.
“I will be looking at those mechanisms for the ladder tomorrow, as promised Shep,” you confirmed with a nod. Tech drifted back to his previous attentions – your device.
“There is no rush, my dear girl.” He retorted gently as he reached for his glass. He looked between you and Tech and noticed a hidden spark that he had not expected. “And don’t forget to continue with your sketching. Your representations of our community are truly commendable. Not to mention beautiful.”
“Thank you, Shep,” you responded with a grin, “you know how much peace I find in my art.”
“I do, my dear girl.” He loved to call you that. He was like a father to you in so many ways and he very often liked to remind you of that. You weren’t sure if Tech had even been paying attention to the conversation happening around him.
But Tech had been listening intently whilst he worked. He found it fascinating that you found peace in your art. There were very few who delved into both words. He found himself thinking that you deserved as much peace as you could get after what you had been through.
As the sun finished setting, Tech looked up at you and thrust the device back towards you. “That should work within its standard parameters now,” he affirmed as you took hold of it, examining his work. “But I would not recommend activating the device at the dinner table.” A joke? Your mind boggled at the concept, but you couldn’t help but flutter out a giggle. Tech simply adjusted his goggles and forced his eyes to focus on the food before him. As you observed him a little longer, you noticed a light pink dusting on his cheeks. That couldn’t be because I giggled at his comment, you thought, could it?
“I can’t believe you fixed it.” You spoke softly and Tech eyes drifted back toward you.
“You’re surprised?” He queried softly, with a faintly and probably accidentally cocky undertone.
“More grateful than surprised.” He looked perturbed at the comment and even more so when you raised yourself from seat just enough to lean over and place your arms around his neck, pulling him into a hug. “Thank you, Tech,” you whispered into his ear as you embraced him. Unsure of what to do, he simply placed an awkward arm about your back and waited for you to pull away. Whilst he was waiting for it to end, he realised that he also very much enjoyed the warmth of your body around his. He liked the feeling of your dress brushing against his thigh.
“You are most welcome.” You smiled. “Should you need assistance with any other works, I would be more than capable of helping.”
“I have no doubt about that, Tech.”
As the evening wore on and the drinks flowed freely, you told the full and unabridged tale of how you came to Pabu. You explained your previous work on Coruscant, in the Jedi Temple archives. A role you had always been thrilled to hold. You also explained that you sketched and painted on the side wherever you could. That it brought you a sort of inner peace. You explained how you’d become involved in the clandestine operation to save Jedi and clones where you could and how it had crumbled around you. You explained that you’d watched the Temple burn, how you’d hidden in the archives but when you were found, you had been spared. Order 66 didn’t apply to terrified librarians as it turned out.
“When the world crumbled around me, I did what I could to help and when I couldn’t do it anymore…well I landed here, and they took me in. I owe these people everything.” With a smile, you explained, “now I help with repairs wherever needed, keeps me busy and when I’m free I draw whatever I want as much as I want. Until I got to Pabu, I never knew what it meant to be truly free.” There was sense of understanding washing across the table as you spoke. It was the most any of them had heard you say. Especially Tech. He was surprised by your entire story and enamoured by your bravery. He wished he’d known you sooner. He’d been here for several rotations and had only noticed you as a shadowy figure in the distance of his mind.  Finally, as the silence felt too much, “life here is pretty perfect.”
“You’d like Echo,” Omega replied, “he’s out there fighting for clones too.” You smiled and silently prayed that their dear friend was safe.
------------------------
The next day, you awoke with a groan. The sun was already high in the sky, the scorching sun filled your cabin with a heated greeting. The wine you had drunk copious amounts of the previous night swam violently around your head, causing you to moan. You really must learn to drink a little less at dinner. You were getting too old for that. Stretching out your tired limbs, you dressed yourself in a linen shirt and cargo pants, fixing your belt around you.
You were already very late in starting your day and remained full from the previous evenings dinner. With that in mind, you stumbled out the door and made your way towards the broken ladder mechanisms. When you arrived, however, you found Tech already evaluating and fixing the modules.
When he saw you approach, he turned to you and offered you a good morning before immediately returning to his work. You simply stood there, sheepishly, watching him work. After a moment, he stood up straight and tested out the mechanism. You weren't surprised to find that it was now working.
Damn it, you thought, Shep’s guests doing my work. You couldn’t help but feel a little ashamed.
“You didn’t need to do that Tech,” you mumbled as you approached him. He peered over the edge at the ladder. When he felt your shadow gloss over him, he turned to you slightly and simply stated, “I was already here and thought I could lend a hand. It was truly no trouble. I stopped by your hut earlier and you seemed to be enjoying a restful morning. I did not wish to disturb it.”
“Are they both operational now?” You queried. When he nodded, you gave a contented sigh. That was one less thing to fix. “Thank you, Tech.” You couldn't help but reach up and throw your arms around his neck. You couldn't seem to help yourself. Unlike the awkwardness of the night before, this time you felt his hands come to rest on the small of your back and you hugged him.
“You are welcome.” He adjusted his goggles and simply looked at you, a pink blush rising on his cheeks and neck. “I did inform you that I was more than able to aid in the repairs.” When you smiled gently at him, Tech’s chest tightened inexplicably, and he did not understand why. He would analyse his bodily reactions later on when he had a moment to spare, he decided.
“Well, I guess this gives me more time to draw this afternoon.” You joked, scratching at the back of your neck awkwardly.
"I thought it might," he replied, somewhat quickly, "I have some ideas for further modifications for the Marauder." He only said this to try and relieve the tension of his previous comment.
“Would you like any help?” You offered.
“No, thank you. It should not take me long. Enjoy your sketching.” He said with a gentle smile. Then, suddenly, Tech retreated towards Upper Pabu and towards the Marauder, leaving you standing awkwardly by the finished work.
Shep appeared as you watched Tech walk off into the distance. You didn’t notice him until he clapped you on the shoulder. “They look fixed. Another good job as always,” he said cheerily. Your fingers nervously played with the auburn hair which was loosely falling around your shoulders.
“You can thank Tech,” you responded. “He’s the one who fixed them.”
“It is good that our new friends are helping out,” he responded as he looked out over Pabu. “They are becoming exceedingly valuable to this community. I am glad you have found a friend in their midst."
“Y-yes,” you stuttered as you forced your eyes away from the empty space that Tech had left, “yes I suppose he is a sort of friend now, isn't he?” Shep rested his hand on your shoulder, before patting it slightly and making his way down towards the wreckage that was still present in lower Pabu.
For a moment, you simply stood there, frozen in spot... wondering how it had come to this. Tech support, as you would now call it. Bizarre, you thought.
---------------------------------
The next day, you’d woken up early to aid in fixing the mechanisms of one of the docking systems. You knew Wrecker and Shep needed it sorted as soon as possible. They'd let you know the work was needed the night before as you'd walked past the Marauder whilst heading to your favourite sketching spot. You'd notice Tech sitting in the entrance of the Marauder tinkering away. You were sure he hadn't been listening this time. Surely, your idle chit chat would be of little interest to him.
So, you’d awoken once again, very much in the same way you had the day before, and headed straight down to the docks. You often skipped breakfast when there were works needed.
When you arrived, you found Tech high up on a ladder, fixing the mechanism that Shep had asked you to attend to.
“Good morning Tech,” you said cheerily as you approached, “I wasn’t aware that they’d asked you to help with this too.”
“Ah,” he said looking down from his work, “good morning.” When your name fell from his lips, you realised you loved the very tone in which he said it. It was both soft and heated as it fell from his lips. A stunning pronunciation of an unimportant facet of your life. Whilst you pondered your interest in the way your name had fallen from his lips, he had climbed down the ladder. His towering height meant his gaze fell downwards towards you. “They did not ask me to help. But I overheard your conversation with Shep. I thought I could be of some assistance in fixing this mechanism.”
“Please,” you started carefully, “allow me to help finish the work. I was tasked with it after all and I am sure you have far more important work that you could be doing.”
“No need,” he stated so simply that you were perturbed. “It is almost fixed, I simply need to make one more adjustment and it should be operational. I can continue with my own works shortly.” He adjusted his goggles and admired you. Although you didn't know that's what he was doing. He simply looked you up and down with a scrutinising stare. You'd put on a black sundress, due to the heat, but still had your tool belt about your waist. Suddenly he spluttered, "you look very pretty today."
You blushed heavily at that. Your hands idly reached for the fabric of your dress.
"Oh, um, thank you!" That was all you could muster in response.
“Well, I will go and find something else to do. I am sure there is plenty more that needs fixing.” You affirmed, finding the positive in the very confusing situation you found yourself in. “Thank you, Tech.” You went to turn, but realised he was still staring at you, almost expectantly. But perhaps that was wishful thinking in your head.
Regardless and with a small smile on your face, you reached up and gave him a quick hug. Arms around his neck and his hands just above your waist. When you pulled back he was pink in the cheeks again and you relished in the sight.
“It is my pleasure," he finally said as you began to pull away, "perhaps you could sketch some more this afternoon, now that your time will be free?” He suggested as he began to climb the ladder once more.
“Y-yeah, maybe I could.” What a wonderful thought, you realised. Less work, more pleasure.
As you walked away, you found yourself sitting on the stone steps that led to the docks, simply watching Tech work. You sighed as you placed your hands over your knees and leant your weight into your legs. It was also a new pleasure of yours to simply watch the man work.
“He likes fixing things,” Hunter said, making you jump. He had silently approached, after watching the situation unfold, a small smile on his lips. When you'd sat down, he wanted to make his presence known.
"I can tell," you replied airily.
“And I think, these days, he likes helping you particularly.” He added smugly, crossing his arms as he leant on the wall beside you, his head tilted in your direction. The smug smile made you react with a start, almost causing palpitations.
“What do you mean,” you queried, disconcerted by his train of thought.
“Tech likes to be helpful. He’s active in his affection. Not so much with the words but with the things that can help, make life easier, and recently, he seems intent in helping you.” He adjusted slightly on the wall as his gaze fell towards the chaotic sight of Wrecker chasing Omega around the dock. Those two were the happiest he had seen in so many rotations.
“I have no idea what you’re getting at,” you said, leaning into your legs once more, staring down into the docks. Omega had stopped at Tech's beckoning call and she handed him a different tool but from this distance, you couldn’t see what it was. You could probably guess but there was no way to be certain.
“Just know this, Tech is always helpful. But sometimes, he will actively try to be helpful. He does it when he cares and he cannot express things the way everyone else does.” You felt Hunter’s hand gently squeeze your shoulder. "If you want him to express that he cares in some other way, you'll have to draw it out of him..." his voice trailed off and his eyes narrowed somewhat, "and it'll be like drawing blood from a stone."
After that, he simply disappeared. You sat there for a moment pondering his words but couldn’t fathom exactly what he was trying to tell you. Was he telling you that Tech liked you? Was he telling you to make a move? You truly couldn't tell what was happening there. But you'd certainly be mulling over his words incessantly.
Shaking your head, you reached into the pocket on your trousers and pulled out your sketchpad. Grabbing the loose chalk from a different pocket, you began to sketch the sight before you. This time, you knew the faces of everyone in front of you. You simply began to draw the wonder of the new members of the community fixing up the dock, paying particular attention to sketching Tech stretching up on the ladder to fix the mechanism. In fact, that image brimmed to the edges of the page. You smiled as you watched them work in the midday sun.
Perhaps having a helper wasn’t so bad after all.
-------------------------------
About a week later and numerous Tech support encounters later, you knew you had to begin working on the electrics in the lower Pabu. You were aware that this project was the most extensive you’d been tasked with. You set out with a sense of purpose and in that, you found tranquillity. But you were also aware that the likelihood of finding Tech already working there were incredibly high.
Walking by Hunter and Omega, you gave them a fond hello as you made your way down the staircases towards the lower huts of Pabu. When you arrived at the starting point, you found Tech already working on the wiring in the hut. You sighed as you saw him.
“Good morning,” he offered without looking up. He simply felt your presence at the door. “I have begun wiring the lights for this hut, it was heavily damaged. But I believe it to be easily salvageable.”
“I agree,” you responded cautiously, “that was why I had intended to start with this hut.” After he offered no response, you decided to finally ask the question burning in the back of your chaotic mind, "Tech, do you think I'm bad at my job?" His head flipped up suddenly, almost banging on the console that was only slightly above him.
"Not at all," he replied quickly, "I think you are highly proficient. Admirable, in fact."
"Then why are you doing all of my work?"
“I have the situation in hand,” he responded haphazardly, from under the panel. “You said that you found peace in your sketching. That you enjoyed it profusely. I was simply trying to afford you the time to do that.” You sucked in a breath. This conversation was not going the way you thought it would have.
“Please Tech,” you begged, “let me help, at least a little. So I don’t feel completely useless.” He paused his ministrations for a moment and observed the pained expression on your face. “That was never my intent,” he finally said and as he adjusted his slightly wonky goggles he sat fully upright after pulling himself out from under the console. "I..." He began, looking at you, "I apologise if I have overstepped. I just wanted to offer you my assistance."
Then everything clicked into place. Hunter’s gentle nudge about Tech’s ‘forms of affection’. All of the hard work he had been doing. Putting his own projects on hold. All the work he had been doing. Omega’s curious interest in introducing the two of you. “You did all of this for me? So I could do something that brings me peace?"
“I suppose on some, I am doing it for the people of Pabu,” he afforded you a soft smile, a rare sight of his gentle lips, “but yes, I have been doing this for your benefit. I wanted to afford you the time to truly feel at peace with your sketching. I believe that was how you described it.” As he leaned back down suddenly, to hide his blushing cheeks, you couldn’t help but reach out your arm and place it on his elbow. Almost willing him to look at you. When he paused and stared at your arm, you softly whispered his name. Instinctually, he moved out from under the console and looked at you sheepishly.
You took that moment as your chance. You reached in and placed your lips to his cheek. The softness of lips on his skin lit his whole body on fire. He couldn’t avoid a slight jump at the contact but as your face lingered near his, he reached in and rested his forehead to the side of your head awkwardly. “Thank you, Tech,” you whispered softly. This was a step further than the odd friendly hugs you'd shared.
The somewhat amorous response you had towards him made his heart soar. Eventually, you pulled away from one another. You took the spanner from his hand and leaned down to continue the works, with a smile he couldn’t see, you simply said, “but I’m still going to help you. Because I enjoy this too.”
For a moment, Tech remained upright and simply thought about the contact, the gentle brush of your lips on his cheek. His mind was racing, he could feel his heart thumping in his chest. Steadying himself, he simply lay his body next to yours. Your body connected to his at the arm as he began working again. He could feel the warmth of your body, the feeling of your hip pressed against his and he suddenly dropped the tool in his hand.
You asked if he was okay as a result.
“I am fine,” he responded almost too quickly, before adding, “thank you.” You smiled at him under the console, before continuing with your ministrations. He retrieved the tool and began working beside you. He suddenly realised how well you worked together.
That day, you and Tech simply worked alongside one another. Solving problem after problem and you both loved the feeling of being understood by another.
---------------------------
“You know you don’t have to help me with everything, you know,” you told Tech one evening as you stood together looking over Pabu.
“I do not mind. My proficiency in technical repairs is certainly beneficial for efficiency.” You stated so calmly that you couldn’t help but giggle a little.
“I don’t doubt that Tech,” you said, placing your hand on his bicep, “I appreciate you helping me. But you have Omega’s flying to worry about.”
“I am capable of instructing her,” he paused to look at your hand on his arm, it almost made him shiver when you didn’t let go. After a moment he finished his thought, “and helping you.”
“I just mean,” you sighed as you tried to find the right words, “if you wanted to spend time with me, without repairing things, that would be fine with me too.”
“What about your sketching?” He queried as he turned suddenly to face you directly, “I do not wish to distract you from that.”
Pulling out your sketchbook, you handed it to him. “Take a look,” you mumbled softly, feeling your cheeks heat slightly. He blushingly took hold of your sketchpad and opened it. The early pages were sketches of Pabu, of Shep, of the damage, of Phee and her treasures. He smiled at that, he had come to care for Phee. He was glad you cared for her too.
When he continued to turn the pages, his face suddenly became oddly nervous. There was the sketch of him he had already seen but when he continued he found the sketches were of him fixing the mechanism at the dockyard, him at that first dinner when they’d met. They were all of him. All you had drawn in recent rotations was him. Him. Him. Him.
“I am grateful that wanted to grant me time to find peace in my drawing,” you affirmed. “But…” your voice drifted off. In a sudden burst of confidence, you placed your hand over his as he grasped your sketchbook tightly. You reached to close it and place it back in your pocket. Tech stood extremely still, simply studying your face as he tried to understand your sketches. “I have found peace in spending time with you. I have found peace in you.”
Tech smiled at that and it was more than a slight upturn of his lips. It was a full smile, one you had never seen before. “You don’t need to fix things for me to notice you, Tech.”
With a sigh, you finally said, “if I am wrong, and all of this, was just kindness then, I apologise. But I feel like you are trying to show me you care.” There was suddenly a silence between you as Tech tried to find the words to express what his actions had shown.
“You would be correct.” He finally said. “I was trying to make you happy. I… I did not know that my company alone would be sufficient.”
Placing your hand on his cheek, you said, “your company is much more than sufficient, Tech. Perhaps I could invite you to dinner? This time without the others?” You suggested, hope tinted in your voice.
“I think I rather like that idea,” he said, resting his face in your palm. When you pulled away and looked out over the ocean view, Tech simply mimicked your movement. The sun was beginning to set and the pink hue over the sky rippled over the day and as night fell, you found yourself placing your head on Tech’s shoulder.
And Tech found that he didn’t mind the feeling over your body so close to his.
“Tech,” you whispered, when he hummed slightly in response, eyes still watching the setting sun, “I could still need help wiring up the electrics in all of the houses.”
“I hope you did not expect my aid to stop simply because we have arranged a dinner rendezvous?” He joked softly and when you giggled, he feel the gentle shake of your body against his.
He knew he liked Pabu. But this unexpected gift certainly gave him one more cause to want to stay.
You didn't want to rush him. But when you lifted your head and he turned immediately to look down at you, missing the contact, you placed your hand on his cheek one more. "Please allow me to thank you for your support, properly." He looked as if he was about to ruin the chance, so you quickly reached up your toes and pressed your lips to his.
He grunted at the suddenness and unexpected nature of your movement. But quickly, his fingers were digging into your waist as you kissed him gently. Your whole body alight as the Force wove your paths inextricably together... all of this through the first kiss you had shared with this incredibly intelligent clone.

Ep. 8 "Bad Territory" Review
This episode was honestly the fluff I needed after last week's tense and crazy two parter. There was the usual action and excitement, but I loved the amount of fluff we got. Omega is forever our little ray of sunshine. I feel a bad feeling that it's going to get much darker after this week so I'll take any fluff I can get.
As always, spoilers below
It was really cool to see Fennec again and it makes senes that out of all the bounty hunters, the boys would choose to seek her out. She was originally after Omega, but she's not needlessly cruel like Cad Bane. If Omega's life were truly in danger, I don't think Fennec would want to see her get hurt. Cad Bane wouldn't give a second thought about it. Speaking of the ending, I definitely think she was talking to Ventress or someone like Quinlan. After all, Ventress is a Force-wielder and could be connected to whatever Hemlock is doing.
Overall, I really liked the interactions between her, Hunter, and Wrecker. Their banter was great and the joke about the Batch being straight up broke had me cackling. Like yes, these 5 guys with a kid are clearly enjoying Space Greece or whatever the fandom calls it. They're not gonna be looking for jobs right now. I also enjoyed seeing the boys use their skills like Wrecker's demolitions knowledge again. It's been so, so long since we've seen the boys go on a classic mission. That's not a bad thing either to have an "adventure of the week" style episode. It was cool to see them back in action (you know, non lethally).
The environment looked great, Wrecker and Hunter throwing hands with gators was pretty epic, and the final fight with the other bounty hunter (?) was exciting. I'll admit, the antagonist's design was cool and it allowed from some fun fight choreography.
Shoutout to the Phee cameo btw! Love seeing her as always. I think she'll be back after the Pabu invasion or she'll be back in time for that event to happen. Crosshair not knowing who she or Fennec was though was pretty funny. He's missed so much. (Also, this is the first time we hear him call Echo by his name fun fact).
Of course, Crosshair and Omega were the standouts because their dynamic is just that good. They're finally getting Crosshair's hand addressed! And I'm so glad Hunter stepped up to make sure it got looked at. Hunter loves Crosshair despite the past and he will look out for him. As many of us thought already, Crosshair's tremors are psychosomatic. We don't what happened on Tantiss (aside from some vague details), but whatever it was, it was bad; real bad. Crosshair is afraid of talking about it because it hurts. His reactions to even thinking about it were heartbreaking.
My theory is that Hemlock did something that broke a part of his identity. Maybe the identity erasure almost worked. Maybe he had Crosshair kill someone during a trial session to see if the reconditioning worked. Whatever it was, it traumatized Crosshair (on top of everything else he went through). For Crosshair to move forward, he's going to have to confront his trauma. He'll need to accept what happened to him and learn that it doesn't define who he is now.
Omega is so gentle and patient with him; I absolutely love it. She doesn't push him nor does she just leave him to get trapped in his mind. Instead, she tries to teach him coping mechanisms. The way he trusts her is so good too. Crosshair doesn't know what to do, but here is sister whom he loves. She's never left his side since they were imprisoned together and she was the only one who really advocated for him back in season 1. This girl loves him and he loves her. The scene where she holds his hand because it won't stop trembling genuinely means so much to me. It's such a small gesture that means so much. I really do appreciate that the writers are taking their time to show Crosshair going through the healing process. His hand doesn't get magically fixed because he escaped Tantiss nor because he redeemed himself. He achieved that. Now, he needs to finish the rest of his journey. AZI even mentions that it could be permanent. Real life mental health issues don't disappear in one night nor do they go away permanently. It comes and goes and that's what Crosshair will have to do. He'll have to cope with his trauma and hopefully the tremor will steady over time.
Many have pointed it out, but I would love to see a scene with him and Echo. Echo understands Crosshair's plight as he too was held captive and subjected to horrific experiments. I hope we get a scene between them where Echo comforts him. It would be a nice moment between two characters who often don't interact much.
Aside from that, the animation and music were great as always. That last scene of Cross and Omega meditating while Pabu's sun begins to set is truly gorgeous and it might be my favorite landscape shot of the show. It's also reminiscent of Hunter and Crosshair together on Barton IV. I am truly so happy to see Crosshair finding peace and happiness after so long. I honestly never thought we'd see him like this. But now, we do. (Side note: he looks so much smaller and vulnerable without his backpack or shoulder pads).
Anyways, I could go on and on about Crosshair. But I'll save that for another post. Can't wait for next week and hopefully we'll see Ventress!

Bad Batch Season 3 Episode 5 (scattered) thoughts and first impressions (ramblings)
Major spoilers under the cut
This one is also very long because mannnnnnn did I love this episode and omg do I have big feelings about it
Also yes I do love each member of tbb but in case it’s not obvious I’m a crosshair girlie. Have been since I first heard his voice in season 7 of tcw so this is gonna be very crosshair centric (because he finally has screen time and more than like 2 speaking lines this season!!)
Lula! 🥰🥰
Is Omega in a supply closet? Whatever better than her barren room at the lab
Ah nope her old “room” the gun turret 🥰🥰
A glimpse of mornings on board the marauder: peaceful boys and caf 🥹 probably only peaceful again now that omega is home
This is Omega’s best look omg the the crocheted vest??? I wanna cosplay her now or actually just wear this outfit fr
At first I was so annoyed they kept crosshair in this ugly ass outfit but I honestly think it’s because even though it’s warm on Pabu he’s always cold because he’s so skinny now (well he always was lean but this is a testament to how much weight he lost as a prisoner) They keep trying to feed him fruit and my man keeps using it as target practice 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
I honestly love when they show scenes through like either a scope or helmet visor. Like I really love seeing what they’re seeing. In this case AZI (so happy they took him from Cids bar- sorry “parlor”….it was a dive bar)
He’s so mad at his hand 😭 my poor baby he really should let AZI look at it. What do we think it is? Nerve damage? I imagine it feels tingly like when your foot falls asleep.
I love that Batcher loves him!! Animals know good people. He’s a good man Savannah! 😭😭😭 and he likes Batcher too and anyone that’s kind to animals is ok by me.
Ugh Crosshair teaching Omega about being a sniper 🥰🥰😭🥰😭🥰 one day she’s just gonna pop out with a sick trick shot lmao
Shouldn’t have given him his rifle??? Sir it’s an extension of him, it’s like you gave him back one of his body parts
“Omega trusts him and that’s good enough for me” Wrecker!!! My sweet boy!! Big man and even bigger heart. He’s now kinda caught in the middle he wants to be cool with Crosshair again but doesn’t want to betray Hunter they’ve been through a lot just the 2 of them these past several months. Crosshair and Hunter are like parents in the middle of a divorce 😭
53%???? Fuckkkkkkk way worse than we thought
Echo!!!!! Yay mom came home!
“No hug for me” screaming crying throwing up! 😭😭😭😭😭😭 💔💔💔💔he’s disguising it as sarcasm but he wants it, he wants a hug! SOMEBODY HUG HIM DAMMIT! I volunteer!!! Please
Omega between her 2 dads 🥰 (Though is Crosshair more wine aunt vibes sometimes?) And batcher by Crosshair’s feet of course
Yummmmm I bet Pabu has banging sushi 🍣 Love Wrecker being an unbothered king enjoying his sush🥰
😭😭😭😭😭 Crosshair’s face when Echo mentioned Tech. He knows. He knows he fell or perished (shh no 🤡) trying to save him. They’re twins and he lost his other half and I’m devastated!! 😭
Haaaaa welcome to parenting a teenager Hunter!!!
Are Hunter’s eyes green all of a sudden?
Crosshair being the voice of reason?? I love seeing this side of him. I HC that since he is silent and highly observant he was a voice reason often for the batch. (Can we please get a series of TBB during the clone wars?? Or like when they were cadets or something. We only see them in 4 episodes in tcw and they were just an insane suicide squad who hated regs and didn’t follow orders or have anyone in charge of them like I wanna see their adventures and their dynamic and how they are when they have downtime! Please lucasfilmmmmmm 🙇‍♀️🧎🏼‍♀️)
“I’m older than you are, little brother” 😂😂😂 and she got crosshair to chuckle lol ugh I love their dynamic so much. They are really feeding us rn (please don’t take it away)
Omg he’s so brave bringing them back there! To that freaking ice planet where nothing but trauma happened for Crosshair. I know he probably wished he would never have to go back there again but he knows this will help so he goes anyway
The old armor!!!! Helllllll frickinnnn yeaaaaaa (he’s so hot in armor omg I have a headache)
“Take a guesssssss” 🥵
“He started it” 😂😂 major youngest sibling energy
Mayday’s helmet! 💔💔💔💔 somebody sedate me!! 😭
Why can’t Hunter sense the Wyrm?
TOOTHPICK!!! Wrecker defo kept his toothpicks in the armor case 🥰
Frickin ice vulture always an omen. (Animals seem to really like Crosshair though even the scary ones)
“I know you” 😭 I know Hunter meant it in a “I know you’re sneaky and closed off and I’m expecting the worst from you right now ” but it just hit me harder than that. “I know you”- you’re my brother, the youngest I’ve known you since the day you were born. “I know you- I know there’s more to your silence I know your still waters run way deeper than you let on.” “I’m your brother- I know you talk to me I know you”❤️‍🩹
Oh shitttttt thems are fightin words yes let it out everyone
“I’ll do it! 😁” Wreckerrrr I love you
Hunter’s fast af boi!
Batcher is actually ripped af 💪
Ok petition that Cross doesn’t yell anymore it doesn’t suit him at all lmaoooo
Poor Wrecker yes it’s always ALWAYS a huge monster 😭
“Fantastic” 😂😂😂
Omg this is a roller coaster of emotions! Crosshair being soft with Batcher, the nodding! Ugh nothing like fending off a giant ice wyrm to bring bros back together
He’s so pretty shut up I know his head is shaped like a lightbulb
AAHH THERES THE HUG 🥰
progress 😌
“I thought I was being a good soldier 😔” * *pterodactyl screeching *
Welp Im deceased, fed and nurtured but dead at the same time.
Thank you thank you thank you for these past few episodes. Us Crosshair girlies were really in pain seasons 1 and 2

Thinking about the latest episodes of The Bad Batch and the breadcrumbs we got about Omega potentially being a Jedi with her Force Sensitivity. Everyone knows she's not gonna give up her family for Jedi training, even if Ventress felt capable of teaching her. And we were told quite plainly "blood doesn't make your a Jedi."
BUT ALSO
I watch Omega make the decision to give herself up to protect not only the people of Pabu but also to get back to Tantiss to rescue the clones there.
And all I can think is
"Jedi cannot help what they are. Their compassion leaves a trail. The Jedi Code is like an itch; he cannot help it."
And i am CHEWING ON THE DRYWALL over how connection to the Force makes people compassionate and caring and generally driven to make the world around them better for everyone, even possibly at their own sacrifice.
And I Know Omega's not a Jedi, not even close. But also She cannot help what she is. Her compassion is like an itch. She can't help it.
She's been training as a soldier. This is what she's been training to do. Whether she realizes it or not.

Thoughts on The Bad Batch Episode 8 - Bad Territory - A Discussion Post
This episode has so much action and so much needed healing this week, it made me feel relaxed. Let's dive back into the exciting parts!
(SPOILERS AHEAD IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE YET! all screencaps from www.cap-that.com! https://www.cap-that.com/starwars/the-bad-batch/308/)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the beginning, Omega is worried about Echo and Rex, relating back to the chaos that ensued at Rex's clone base and how he lost so many. Omega feels guilty for everything that's happened because the Empire is after her, since so many are getting hurt and losing their lives because of her.
Phee makes contact with the Batch, and I am so happy to see her again. She mentions Tech, which just hurt my heart. Crosshair gets to see Phee for the first time, and I hope they make some good interaction later on during the season. Phee's been trying to figure out things regarding the "M-count" situation, and so far no luck. The crew thinks of getting Fennec involved, and they decide to go with it.
Crosshair this entire episode: "Who??" Man was so lost.
Tumblr media
Omega wants to go along, but Hunter gets strict and tells her to stay on Pabu with Crosshair. He tells her to try to get Crosshair to have someone check his hand, noticing the recurring shaking.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hunter and Wrecker travel to a bar where they find Fennec Shand, and queen looks so fine as always. It's great to hear Ming-Na Wen's voice again. Also, the boys look so good in the purple and lime lighting, as does Fennec.
Hunter reasons with Fennec to try to get her to help them, and of course there's a price involved. Fennec gets them to help her catch a bounty she's been after, and the boys agree to help her for the information they need.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meanwhile on Pabu, Omega easily gets Crosshair to get his hand looked at by AZ. I wonder how she managed to do so, she probably looked at Crosshair with sad eyes and pleaded with him, and he just went "Fine." AZ tries to figure out what is wrong with his hand, but he can't quite figure out a solution. Crosshair gets frustrated and walks out, and Batcher tried to follow him but got left behind. Omega's not gonna give up with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fennec tells Hunter and Wrecker who she's after and takes them to a swampy planet, obtaining a boat to navigate around. Hunter finally gets to use his enhanced senses more, and Wrecker used his skills with explosives to get around the water. Fennec really called out the boys for being broke, like girl 😭
Tumblr media
They got attacked by so many gators, everything was so hectic. This shot is crazy, but Wrecker would do this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Crosshair keeps trying to aim with his shaking hand, getting more frustrated. Omega comes to him and suggests he try something out, and Crosshair sighs, agreeing. Batcher keeps a close eye on Crosshair and keeps him company as always, she's such a good girl.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Omega has Crosshair trying out meditation, as she mentions Gungi. Crosshair knows he missed a lot, and he definitely did with two seasons. I kinda want him to find out about Cid and he'll be like "Dang, where is she now?" He would have not tolerated her if he was with them during the past seasons.
The way Omega holds Crosshair's hand here is so soft, and Batcher is silently napping cutely. I was lowkey breathing along with Omega while she was teaching Crosshair, I really needed that healing this week. Seeing Crosshair start his healing journey makes me so happy, as I've been slowly starting my own healing journey after everything that happened last year. I resonate with Crosshair so much this season.
Tumblr media
This shot is so beautiful and calming, I need an ambience video with this shot with them meditating for an hour or longer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hunter and Wrecker finish up the job with Fennec, managing to catch the bounty. They ask her for the information she promised, which Fennec reveals she does not have on her at the time. Though, she promises to keep in touch once she figures something out. She leaves the boys, making contact with someone unknown. I feel like she contacted Ventress considering her past as a bounty hunter and the Empire going after M-count targets, but who knows. We'll see next week hopefully.
We've officially hit the mid-season mark, and things are going to get hectic soon. I am nowhere prepared for anything they throw at us now.
