"I like that answer! It's exactly what I was thinking! You really are interesting...I wonder if your friend would also think the same way."
Version where I make lyrical references to 血色风浪/bloody storm

To add onto the Lumax/Byler parallel from season 2 and season 4(on the bus and bedroom) the scenes are like exactly the same- like the the way it's put together and the camera movement, it's really similar. They zoom in to each character in both scenes, starting zoomed out with the other person still in the shot as it's being zoomed in to being zoomed in enough to just be the person.(That makes no sense I'm sorry- but hopefully I explain it better in the clip). The zoom in starts a lot sooner for the Byler scene but that makes sense because it's shorter but it is more slowly zoomed in.
Of course all this could mean nothing. Like the music, the conversation, the camera movemement even the interruption via a screech being the same in both scenes could totally just be a coincidence-

"The narrative predetermines not only what information you receive, but how you interpret it and order it within the larger story. As Duncombe writes, 'We understand our world less through reasoned deliberation of facts, and more through stories and symbols and metaphors.' Received in a community of devotees, such stories and symbols often morph into esoteric codes only true believers can see, from 'Q drops' to signs that Louis Tomlinson’s baby is fake." [color/ emphasis added] --Aja Romero
I've often thought the way that extreme fans (or "stans") form communities centered around celebrity "narratives" and conspiracies is very much a similar phenomenon as what we see with certain Trump voters. Aja Romano does a great job of describing the troubling parallels between celebrity "stans" and Trump's MAGA followers. Below are some excerpts from the article:
It’s a common observation that modern-day politics increasingly resembles fandom: Both feature communities created around and united by passion, and both are often heavily fixated on a single public figure. [...] In both subcultures, the rise of social media echo chambers has fomented toxicity, extremism, and delusional thinking. [...] OUR EMOTIONS INCREASINGLY SHAPE HOW WE VIEW REALITY AND WHAT WE’RE WILLING TO DO TO PRESERVE THAT VIEW Applying the concept of a shared narrative to political activism imbues that activism with all the heady intoxication of a fantasy role-playing game, whether it’s a fantasy of progress or a fantasy of extremism.... [A]uthor Stephen Duncombe observed that Trump won the 2016 election not based on facts — he lied often — but upon his ability to create fantasy masked as truth. “Facts, it seems, are not things that are verifiably true or false, merely components in a story,” Duncombe notes.   [...] This distortion of reality is partly inadvertent slippage. After all, when all your friends are playing the RPG with you, it can be hard to re-enter reality. And when all your friends are creating the narrative with you, it can be hard to remember what parts are real and what parts you constructed together. That communal narrative is crucial connective tissue between politics and fandom; it unites people around not just a shared sense of identity, but a shared story and the idea that they’re building that story together. These narratives aren’t just entertainment. To their proponents, they have a higher moral purpose, whether it’s “draining the swamp,” rooting for your favorite characters in a series to get together, or freeing Taylor Swift from the oppression of the closet. [color emphasis added]
I highly recommend that you read the entire article at the link above.

gooooood morning party people today im thinking about how dutch van der linde could very well be amish and how well that would wrap his character up in a neat little bow. i mean. one of the main things he values is classic living, hes a midwest dutch-american immigrant in the mid 1800s, he has a deep obsession with knowing how the world works (as if he had been sheltered from it in his youth), he talks about having complicated relationships with family after having left home, his constant hammering of hard work and faith as honorable values, and the fact that he went off to create his own cult-like group after a while.

Not me googling what year the confessional booth was invented because the Orb brain rot is too strong........but apparently it wasn't invented until the mid 1500s and the year in the show is supposedly 1468. So what is the truth?

Hermione, in both canon and often in fanon, seems to have predominately male friendships and kind of difficult time building strong relationships with women (Lavender, Fleur, etc.). Even initially with Luna, Hermione was particularly skeptical and had a rocky start.
What's your theory on why this is?
Hermione, especially in the early books, is written by an author who treats her unfemininity as a quality that makes her different from, and superior to, other girls. Hermione is self-serious, intellectual, and decisive, which are classically masculine virtues, which Hermione (and the author) are aware of; and so Hermione eschews femininity in any number of ways. The other girls at Hogwarts, meanwhile, with the exception of Ginny, are often portrayed as shallow, vapid, flirty (count the number of times Lavender or Parvati "giggles" or goes "oooh"), hyperemotional, and boy-obsessed. Meanwhile, Hermione is intense, driven, and oblivious to other people's feelings — in many respects "boyish." Not until the later books, when both the characters and their writing starts to mature, is humanity offered to people like Cho Chang or Fleur Delacour — and even then, Lavender's arc in sixth year is this remarkably mean subplot where a sixteen-year-old girl becomes the butt of endless jokes because she has the audacity to... act silly around her crush. (If you think "Won-Won" is a bad nickname, you need to go see what actual teens in relationships call each other, because I'm telling you, Ron has it easy.)
The narrative wants you to know that Hermione is special, and her specialness is underscored by her difference from other women. In canon, she buys into that specialness, which leads to a degree of disdain for other girls that's fueled by a superiority complex and internalized misogyny. I say this as someone who adores her, and adores her in her complexity: Hermione has trouble forming friendships with women because she believes that she is Not Like Other Girls, and her author agrees with her.
