Linked to the close of the Mayan calendar, a variety of rumors spread regarding ways the world could end back in 2012. One popular contender was Nibiru, a supposed planet that some claimed would collide with Earth at the end of that year. But despite the buzz, there's no scientific evidence supporting the alleged planet's existence — and, of course, our planet survived 2012 without absorbing a massive impact.

Nibiru has been linked to NASA by various bloggers. Because of this claimed connection, space agency officials put out a statement saying that no big planet was coming to destroy Earth in 2012. What follows below is the true science and history of this supposed rogue planet, with reference to a real object, Comet Elenin, that somehow got mixed up in the whole mess.

And we'll also talk about another hypothetical world that may actually exist in the far outer solar system — Planet Nine.

The story began in 1976, when Zecharia Sitchin wrote "The Twelfth Planet," a book which used Stitchin's own unique translation of Sumerian cuneiform to identify a planet, Nibiru, orbiting the sun every 3,600 years. Several years later, Nancy Lieder, a self-described psychic, announced that the aliens she claimed to channel had warned her this planet would collide with Earth in 2003. After a collision-free year, the date was moved back to 2012, where it was linked to the close of the Mayan long-count period. 

When Comet Elenin appeared in 2011, many were concerned that it was the mysterious planet in disguise, despite the fact that planets and comets appear very different under a telescope. (A comet has a gas atmosphere, called a coma, and a tail, while a planet does not.) 

But instead of slamming into the Earth, the comet strayed too close to the sun and broke into pieces. The leftover fragments will continue on their path to the outer solar system for the next 12,000 years, still bits of comet and not a more cohesive planet.

Proponents of the fictitious planet note that, in 1984, a scientific paper was published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters which discussed several infrared sources with "no counterparts" that turned up in a survey of the sky. Such surveys are common in astronomy and usually involve follow-ups that individually detail the more interesting sources.

In the follow-up of the 1984 survey, most of the sources turned out to be distant galaxies. None were identified as planets. Both papers are available to the public.

A planet with an orbit so eccentric that it took 3,600 years to orbit the sun would create instabilities inside our 4.5-billion-year-old solar system. After only a few trips, its gravity would have significantly disrupted the other planets, whose own gravitational pushes would have changed the hypothetical world's orbit significantly.

The easiest and most verifiable piece of evidence arguing against the existence of the theoretical planet can be performed by anyone: According to the information available, a planet with a 3,600-year-long orbit that was due to impact Earth in 2012 should be available to the naked eye. Easily performed calculations show that, by April 2012, it would have been brighter than the faintest stars viewed from a city, and almost as bright as Mars at its dimmest. This would have made it visible to astronomers everywhere.

The most common rebuttal to this is the cry of "Cover up!" However, there are hundreds of thousands of amateur astronomers around the world, many of whom own their own telescopes. On top of that, most of the thousands of professional astronomers are linked not to the government but rather to private universities.

Astronomer David Morrison pointed out in 2012 that "NASA and the government get most of their information from these outside astronomers, not the other way around."

Between the amateur and professional astronomers, there are plenty of people who would have noticed a new "star" in the sky.

Doomsday reports across the internet frequently incite fear, but it's interesting to note they are nothing new. People have been decrying the end of the world for hundreds of years.

Rumors spread like wildfire on the internet, but the same technology can make it easier than ever to delve into the scientific evidence about such events.

Chapter 2 : The man on the motorbike

Desmond was upstairs, in his room, reading a book he had borrowed to his father about archaeology and Azran stuff. Donald Rutledge was the only well-known expert as it seemed that had written a book so detailed and so complete about this civilisation, and it was incredibly thin regarding how advanced such people must have been. However, every information about them was good to take, and when he would grow up, he would be helpful to his father, he would find back his brother and his mother, and he would make sure his family would be complete again. So, while his father was out for groceries, he could borrow his books and look at his research a bit without worrying him too much.

However, the more the time was passing by and the more Desmond was beginning to worry since his father hadn’t come home yet. Each time he would go to London, the boy was always worried he would be caught by some undercover agents, or spotted, or lost, or worst, and since his father was the only family he had left, he was more than worried in fact, he was terrified that someone could take him away from him one more time.

Just when he thought he would go to the shop down the street, too afraid to stay alone again, he heard the sound of a motorbike running outside and then stop near the house, while two people seemed to be bickering about something.

–For God’s sake, you truly are insane when you ride that… that… that machine !

It was his father’s voice ! Without thinking twice, he quickly put the book back on the shelf in his father’s working room and he quickly came down the stairs to go to the hall, hearing things more clearly and suddenly pausing in front of the door. Wait, if his father was speaking to someone… then who would it be ? And why were they so angry at each other ?

–Oh, shet up, sassenach, A’m perfec’ly able to drive that beauty anywhere, with or without yer commentary !

Without waiting much longer, Leon sighed, got down the motorbike and quickly entered the house to look for his son… almost falling on him when he saw the youngest behind the door, anxiously looking at it.

–Hershel- !

He kneeled and took his son in his arms before hugging him tight, relieved to see that he was doing fine. Since Targent first came to their house, he has had some sleepless nights making sure they were never around their location, and the whole event left him almost paranoid about it. Losing his son would be the last strike of a dagger inside his poor broken heart.

–I’m sorry, I was so worried… Everything is alright my boy ?

Desmond was getting more worried himself since his father’s behaviour was everything but normal.

–Dad ?… What happened ?

But, as soon as he saw the other man getting down the motorbike, he took a few steps back and looked less of a child all of the sudden, completely analysing the manners of this new face. The same age his father, approximatively, not so tall, not a friend, a perfect stranger, strong Scottish accent, not really serious right now, and too much at ease. How could he be so relaxed and how on earth could his father be coming home with such an individual ?

–Who is he, dad ?

The Scottish man looked at the young boy, with a puzzled expression engraved on his face. He didn’t know exactly why but he had been driving this strange English man to his home because he heard him called his son. He had done it because of the light tremolo in his voice, because of the worry of this man for his child, because Targent was everything but merciful with children, and because somehow this man seemed truly pathetic. Of course.

–Hey, balach beag, how’s yer day ?

–Who are you ?

Desmond snapped before getting in front of his father, between both men, not ready to let anyone enter their home to take anyone away. His little hands were trembling like crazy but he stood his ground and was trying to look as intimidating as possible.

–I-If you’re there to hurt my dad, t-then you’ll have to go… to go through me f-first !

–Hershel…

Leon sighed and his expression grew more guilty. It was because of him if Hershel was behaving like this, trying to put all that pressure on his shoulder rather than just letting his father bear it. It was because he hadn’t been able to protect either Rachel nor Theodore. Because of Targent, they were forced to live like outcasts, always hiding, never trusting anyone but themselves, and moving from place to place to make sure never to be caught since that bloody organisation knew he was the archaeologist with the most extended comprehension of this bloody Azran civilisation. All of this, it was because of him.

Slowly, he took Hershel’s arm and stood up to ask him silently to do or say nothing too harsh.

–It’s fine, my boy, he helped me coming home.

–Aye, and we met at-

–We met at the grocery shop, interrupted Leon before the lad could finish his sentence.

It was not necessary to worry Hershel more than he already was. But the boy looked at his father, then stared at the man and at his motorbike. Then she shook his head with a very sad expression.

–Dad, you brought no groceries… And you were way too shaken when you hugged me. Please, tell me the truth… Do we have to move out again ?

This was also a subtle way to ask, in front of that stranger, if Targent had found them again. Leon sighed again, deeply ashamed of himself and how bad of a father he was.

–I… I think so… But it would just be a precaution, to be sure-

The Scottish man, however, was still there and he was a bit embarrassed, because it was somehow a very good delusion if the English man would hope to stay near London while having been spotted so close to his location.

–Hum, A don’t mean to int’rupt ye but… Ye better go far from London. In the deep countryside, mate. Because they’ve found ye around, and they won’t give up. It's as braid as it's lang, ye can’t stay here.

Leon stared at the man and his dark red eyes seemed even darker.

–I think we had an agreement. I thank you for the help but as you remember, you have to go back to your place already.

The man in leather jacket raised an eyebrow, then sighed and rolled his eyes.

–A've no jist come up the Clyde on a bike, ye know ? Targent never gives up, do they ?

Desmond opened wide eyes.

–Wait- you know about them ? Dad, what’s going on here ?

–Nothing Hershel, our friend was on the departure anyway, right, « mate » ?

The man sighed again. They were off their heid, no doubt, but anyway he couldn’t get involved with them. For how much he would hate a child to get into troubles, he couldn’t allow himself to be close to people. He almost paid it too highly years ago. But for now he had at least to spend the night in this little town since it was beginning to be late and his motorbike had run out of gas.

–Ok, ok… A’ll leave, but… at least, do ye know where A can take some rest ? A didna get a blink o sleep last nicht. Is there an inn ? a hotel ? something ? where A can spend the nicht ?

Despite not being very fund of the idea to help a total stranger, Leon gave him an address down the street of a very good inn ready to find him a room for the night. However, the salutations were short and quick. Once alone in their house, Hershel and his father were staring at each other with guilty frowns, knowing perfectly well that tomorrow they would have to move out again, as soon as possible. Even if Leon didn’t know nor like that Ray guy, he was right at some point. They couldn’t stay here and certainly not so close to London if some agents have had spotted them. Without another word, they went to the kitchen to prepare something to eat, but the silence filling up the air was way heavier than a lead ceiling.

In town, “Ray” had found the address of the inn the “legal grave-digger” had told him about, and once he was certain his motorbike was already full of gas, he parked it somewhere in the street -just below the window of the room he had been given for the night- and finally sit in front of a desk on which there were a bottle of single malt whiskey, a pen and a blank sheet of paper. He looked at it for a few minutes while taking a pipe out of his jacket inner pocket, filling it with tobacco before lighting it up and taking a few puffs. After some other long minutes during which he wasn't certain to agree wih his own mind, he finally decided to take the pen to write something down but, as soon as he wrote the name of a person on the top of it, he stopped and let go of the pen with an upset little snappy move of the wrist.

–Feck...

He dropped his head back and closed his eyes, reflecting on the past few years and on his choices. Things were hardly nice these days. First, he had thought he could win over a bunch of idiots a few amount of money by cheating at card games and drinking a bit in a town he wasn't supposed to be. But then that man came here in a Scottish pub to get wasted even though he was supposed to... go get some groceries ? for his little boy ? How was it even possible that such coincidence and such ill omen were disposed to be put like this on his way ? And now Targent was back. And they have noticed someone, and now no matter whoever it was, him or the sassenach, now they were both involved because they had fled together. This was suspect enough, and when these assholes would look into their archives, they would remember those faces. His, and the sassenach's.

He sighed and took another puff from his pipe before folding the paper and make it come closer to a lighten match before looking at the paper burn to ashes into the ashtray. When the name on it disappeared, he stood up, went to his window and opened it to lean on the threshold and look at the starsky while smoking. The night wouldn't be long...

....

What were these shadows running behind the houses and in the streets ?

The Scottish man frowned. A few years ago he would never have noticed this kind of details but now he was more than aware this was everything but a nice thing and even more... it was a very worrying thing. He looked at them crawling in the shadows and then opened wide eyes.

-Oh feck !

He grabbed his jacket, turned off his pipe in a hurry and rushed out of the Inn. These people were heading to the sassenach's house.

Sometimes when I'm trying to sleep I get weird mental images or scenarios and stuff and usually they're kinda bad and upsetting but I just thought something like "there may be a parallel universe that's going through literally the same as us" but. The mental image started with eggplants, one of the main ingredients from my dinner, as if time went backwards to that point, and then it turned into a stop motion kinda look, and the eggplant gets turned inside out and so we all do by we are all made of eggplants inside??? So it was weird and also kinda very textured style. And at some point it implies.. someone? Me? Idk? Gets hurt and tries to go to the doctor but they say "what do you want us to do it's just eggplants" bc it was, in fact, that all humans flesh was now made of the inside of eggplants

thank you for this point! ok that's right... i realize i also have heard about Sadie-Greg and it is confirmed by Rebecca Sugar and i sort of did not think about it yesterday very much.. like I can still see also Sadie-Steven, but it is more complicated of course.. Also now I feel I got so stuck with Lars that I left out Sadie a bit, so I thought of her stuff more now, although now I think some scenes could be interpreted as Gregish just as well haha xD

Like The Joking Victim episode is all about Lars not helping Sadie out and leaving mess behind, while Sadie tries hard to defend him and explain he is actually a good person. There is Steven helping out instead, she even calls him "Lars of the day" and later says that Steven should replace Lars (haha. ha.). Lars acts like jerk and lies to Sadie to spend time with the cool kids instead of helping with mess, and Steven works out revenge, but then after the drama and Sadie's speaking up, Lars acknowledges his mistake and he and Sadie make peace. Now I wonder if this could also have Greg tones, with Rose not being true to him either, while spending time with Crystal Gems, Greg also raising Steven instead of dating Rose.. but also it is Rose leaving mess behind for Steven and Steven trying to figure out, wheather she was a good or bad person. Then the mess is also caused by Steven in the big donut, which is sort of like Rose doesn't help with his trouble - but also could make Sadie the single parent left behind…

In The Island Adventure Lars and Sadie kiss, so that kind of speaks for Greg - although, I'd add that Sadie lies and makes Lars and Steven think they cannot leave, to keep Lars there and solve his trouble, which is very Stevenish fix-others while unable to accept loss himself attitude (like when he almost crashes everyone in that pink thing so that they dont leave him in SUF). Also Lars hides behind her in danger.

But like the videotape episode… oh gods.. Sadie is embarassed by lunch packages made by her mom that she does not eat… later it is her who watches Rose's video with Steven and cries with him - then calling her mom to keep making the lunches for her - after seeing Rose's tape, Sadie decides to accept the stuff her mom loads her with. While Steven's positive feelings for his mom are at their peak here and it is probably one of the nicest things she left behind.

In Sadie's song, Steven and Sadie's mom join forces to turn her into something her mom wants, but it turns out it sucks and Sadie needs to stand up to become herself!! Sadie-Greg parallel goes through Sadie becoming a rock star against the parent's wishes, so this is clearly related, but also consider!! Steven needs to realize he is not really his mom, as an ongoing topic… Sadie's song goes "Haven't you noticed that I'm a star?" which I always thought was a call to her mom not seing her true self - but also star is the main symbol of the crystal gems and an icon of Steven's t-shirts

And Sadie Killer. (I love the working dead song btw) I mentioned that when Lars is gone, Sadie makes friends with the cool kids like a parallel to Steven becoming a crystal gem instead of Rose. But Sadie specifically creates a band with the cool kids, which also means her leaving behind the job that connected her to Lars - while it looks, at first, like the job would not allow her to do it - the job also does not allow her to resolve grief over Lars, as the song says ("I really ought to be in mourning, but I got another shift this morning"). It also seems as if making a reference to the episode where Steven tries to form a band with his other selves by time-travel, which fails horribly - then at the end he forms a happy band with the crystal gems (Steven and the Stevens) - getting rid of his past and going for the present and the CG friends.

And the G-g-g-ghost song… oh boi.. is so about a transformation through death and about how the new form feels unseen - "I used to be sick, sick and tired / delirious, dizzy, terrified / But I'm suddenly up and out of bed /You'd never believe I was almost - / Why can't you see me? (…) Can't you see that I exist?"

Ok this was just a bunch of things.. I kind of realize Sadie represents Greg's story a lot, with her relation to Rosish Lars, with them being those who Steven often goes for help to, while Lars does not help and Sadie does, and with the parent-defying rockstar thing... still I think she was representing both at times, Greg's past and the current relation of Steven - to Rose and to Crystal Gems.. Sadie being left behind with trouble, but accepting the loss, can work for both Steven and Greg - although her discovering her identity with the cool kids aka the crystal gems, specifically after Lars is gone, and figuring out his baggage, sounds a tiny bit more like Steven to me

but like, it is really a matter of interpretation, I know xD

Ok I kind of think someone must have thought of this, but - Steven Universe mirroring idea

ok it is obvious that the cool kids each mirror one crystal gem visually and vibe-wise - it is even on the cool kids wiki page

BUT

i was thinking about what is the point - what are their other relations

and it brought me to this idea that

Sadie mirrors Steven and Lars mirrors Rose Quartz

i have many feelings about it

but - consider the following points O.O

Lars starts as a side character, but happens to be there in episodes with quite important Rose Quartz stuff for Steven to resolve and his own story becomes incredibly cool and intense

we can always see Lars and Sadie together - like Steven always keeps a part of his mother inside - and Lars always gives Sadie a lot of trouble. It does not remain the case, though, does it, because they will not stay together...

the first episode with a huge Lars-Rose parallel, Lars and the Cool Kids, I can't even...

Lars wants to be friends with the cool kids BY HIDING WHO HE TRULY IS - like Rose (i believe that Rose truly was Rose, but she did hide her past) - but it is Steven who connects them

they go to this place where a dangerous sentient moss grows that Rose planted - the moss almost kills the cool kids and Lars says hateful stuff about Steven's mom and Steven stands up for her, which makes Lars regret what he said and they make friends, take the cool kids overgrown with moss up the hill, where it blooms and vanishes and it is beautiful - IN OTHER WORDS they face the burden that Rose left on everyone - Rose hated herself and part of the burden is her guilt, but Steven has to fight it - and Lars also has to accept her a bit in here, for everyone to survive and bloom

then there is The New Lars - where Steven accidentally spends the day in Lars's body and tries to fix his life and his mistakes - just like Steven is forced to accept Rose's role, powers, etc. Everyone likes this new Lars better, apart from Sadie - I'm not sure, but could be that Steven should accept his mother the way she was. Then the fun is that meanwhile Lars is in Steven's body, but remains asleep - thus remains "dead"

then of course the series of episodes when they go to space together, starting with I Am My Mom... oh dear gods

it just so happens that in the moment of facing his frustration with Rose's deeds, of all the characters it is Lars going with Steven to space to solve it

in a moment, when Steven fights his confusion of his own and his mother's identity, they are stuck together in the Topaz fusion in one body and they are forced to resolve their relation and Lars has to accept himself with Steven's help - while in these episodes, at the trial Steven also figures there is something strange about Rose shattering Pink Diamond for the first time

also Lars was kidnapped by Aquamarine after he was too nervous to hang out with the cool kids, hiding himself again from them, while steven and sadie got to join their party

then Off Colors and Lars's Head - Lars becoming pink and being directly connected to Steven's and Rose's magic is just really obvious. But also - Lars accepts himself more than ever before, and thanks to that they really bond with Steven.

Lars dies and it is through Steven that he is brought back to life omg (sorry i just can't) - and LARS SACRIFICES HIMSELF AND STAYS IN SPACE - THUS DISAPPEARS FROM EARTH FOR STEVEN'S SAKE LIKE ROSE omgods AND IT IS THROUGH LARS'S HELP THAT STEVEN EVEN GETS TO EARTH oh my

when Steven returns, Lars, who always wanted to be friends with the cool kids, is gone like Rose (even if not for good, unlike her) - and meanwhile the cool kids make friends with Sadie!!! like Steven became a part of the Crystal Gems.. it is even later shown that Lars feels as if she replaced him

meanwhile in space Lars becomes a criminal to homeworld with other unwanted gems like Rose did!!!! he is even their leader who inspires them to run to earth like Rose did!!! he changes his identity and finds his true self and sense in life like. rose. did.

from a different view he also leaves earth later, sort of leaving his original home, finding new friends and new purpose (like rose did. i should make an abbreviation for this. LRD.)

after he returns to earth he spends a bit of time there - but in the end he decides to leave - which is completely mirroring of Rose's travels (homeworld -> earth -> gone for good) this is already in SU Future

this includes final breakup with Sadie, who has a new life now with the cool kids and a new partner - they figure out they cannot be together, but they will remain friends - thus resolving their burdens and letting the other go - but Steven doesn't want to accept them not being together, relating this to Lars and everyone leaving him, and almost destroys everyone, including the cool kids - which is quite a parallel to him not being able to leave his mother's past behind and live, which brings quite some drama later - he needs to resolve his relation with Rose, like Sadie did with Lars, but he cannot

they obviously become very close with Steven - you would not have expected that at the beginning of the show. Steven takes some more time to resolve his trouble after Lars leaves, but we already get hints of what he needs to do - and what is difficult - to let Lars go, aka to let his mom go and accept her for who she was

and also maybe accept that she searched for a new self - acknowledge that she went through a lot of change - like Lars did -which was why he left Earth and Steven

ok. oh dear. oh dear. i believe there must be much more, but these were just sudden thoughts. other ideas?

anyway all this also gives me a lot of feelings about Lars's character and even some more layer on how his story is tragic like Rose's...

but, maybe unlike Rose, he managed to accept himself in the end truly, which is nice.

In a parallel univers, he might have gotten a prostethic! Made some sketches, i have no idea how prosthetic works, especially back in the days, so pls don´t take the sketch to serious, it´s merely abt the concept hahah I saw a text post on here somewhere the other day, that inspired me to dive deeper into this! Sadly i couldn´t find it anymore, so if anybody remember scrolling past something similar and safed it by chance, i would love to be tagged! I want to be a good boy and tag them! XD

Claudia, one of your friends, invited you to attend to her beach volley match. The match is held indoor so, given the fact that its summer and in this country summer is also very humid, temperatures are going to be torrid. Beside this fact you're still quite surprised to see that the majority of the players are playing naked, females too (in this parallel univers human are not ashamed by their own bodies). After all sweating is the best way to cool down. She's quite skinny but look really good with that blue bikini, you always liked her so, secretely, you're very happy to see her playing covered just with air. Given the fact that the playground is going to be free the whole day, organizers decided to complete the tournament without skippying to next day.

Some hours have passed and she has played for a lot of time now. Room temperature went higher than 36°C for the whole last matches and now Claudia looks pretty torn. She's always been a warrior, someone who don't surrender easily but all that jumping in this particular condition had an effect on her too. She's covered by sweat, her skin has assumed a reddish tone and her panting has become so deep anyone can clearly hear her fast inspirations and exales. The thing that tunrs on a light in your mind though is the fact that her entire upper body is rhythmically shaking like it's thrusted by a sort of internal earthquake. You suddenly realize that you recently activated a medical app on your phone developped at the laboratory where you work that makes possible medical analises through the phone camera thanks to experimental sensors placed in the camera. You activate the app and feel pretty lifted up by the fact you already added her profile. A thin ensamble of laser rays, almost invisible, is projeced towards her and the selected target orgal (obviously Claudia's heart) becomes visible on the screen. Her heart is beating like crazy, not only considering the pace but also the strenght of each beat, the app says her heart is beating at around 195 bpm but it's probably even higher. It's something that is completely out of any safety zone for someone who is 34 years old... and not even a younger person should push its heart like this. The device can also work as a digital stethoscope and by wearing headphones to listen to her you remained schoked. Her blood is pushed so violently that it's making strange wooshing-like noises by rubbing against her heart internal structures, sounds that almost cover up her slamming valves. Suddenly the software gives a diagnosis: High cardiac risk- probability of a sudden cardiac arrest of 89%-potentially lethal arrhythias occurring. By looking at her detected heart electrical activities, her organ is so over-stimulated that PVCs and VTACs burst are already present. You know exactly what to do, Claudia's life has an 89% probability to end in the next few minutes and it's increasing. You decide to get up from your seat and run towards the referee to show him the analysis of your device. One of the players' heart is going to stop very soon.

A second before you move, on the ecg a strange beat appears and suddenly Claudia's heart interrupts any activity, it doesn't even fibrillate, it just ceases to beat as silence arises from your headphones. Terrified you see her taking a couple of deep breath, the ball she was holding fell on the ground and her left hand is placed in between her bare breasts... after a moment she collapses on the ground.

You have always wanted to place your hand on her chest to feel her heartbeat but now you have to do this to make it beat again. CPR has to be started immediately.

Ok we have to talk about the parallels of bill and gideon because I've seen no one do it and there's a lot. Like, gideon is to bill what stan is to Mable and Ford is to dipper. This parallel includes bill and ford's relationship compared to gideon and Mabel's because there are parallels. I will mention how this pertains to billford. This will be long. Book of bill spoilars obvously.

A couple ground rules I have screen shots but only from the parts uploaded to YouTube because I'm sick and not dealing with Disney pluss for this. 2 we're takeing the way this show uses parallels for granted and it's worth mentioning stan, Ford and bill are the bad ending for the pines and Mable dipper and gideon are the good end hence gideon getting redeemed and Ford haveing to suffer thinking stan was functionaly dead for like a few days or something. So yes they are diffrent and there diffreces are thematically important and intentionally nothing in this franchise is an accident and where working with that primis. Lastly, in the book of Bill, I'm assuming that pages from the journal are real and unaltered along with documents. The only thing I will take as true from bill in the book are things backed by other non bill sorces or the show witch I'll cite when we get there strap in.

At the beginning of their friendship, they both show their bonding into deeper feelings for each other by saying the same thing at the same time.

Giddeon also blames dipper for Mable breaking up with him and bill blames stan for getting between him and Ford, also his plans in the book of Bill.

Ok I think that's enough evidence now let me tell you why this is important, starting with their timeliness.

1) villain becomes friends with pines.

2) villain offers pines everything they want (Mable clothes and glitter Ford knowledge of the univers)

3) villain trys to manipulate

4) the split

Mable eventually learns to reject gideon when he gets between her and dipper (by trying to kill him)

Ford at first is completely gungho about bills plan (yes at this point he still wants what bill is offering and gideon dint but he also dint have his sibling to talk him down and that's the point that Ford was vunerable without Stanly to protect him like dipper protected Mable by interfering). When Ford sees bills true nature he dose cut it off like Mable ( as far as wether or not ford is actually into bill romantically using this lens you can go both ways but it kind of dosnt matter. Either he didn't like bill and didn't see that he was uping the romance the way Mable dint see what gideon was doing at first. Or he did see and either willfully played along or was genuinely into the triangle becuase agin old pines are the bad ending that made bad choices. The old men's mistakes are to be learned from kids.)

5) villain react violently

When gidion trys to take Mable by force a thing gideon says bill explained to him (Bill told him to do the love cage same as in the book same as the pyramid in the show) dipper saves her becuse twins that stay together stay alive.

Ford gets solidly mind tortured for what I assume is a couple weeks in the book of bill. ( based on one of the postit note back and forward was every night that's about 6 days and there's about 6 days of mind shanigans recorded after I might have miss counted though) Ford FINALLY calls stan who saves him... by acidently pushing him through a portal, well it works.

6) villain is PISSED and ups the anti by trying to take over gravity falls (wow that's crazy it happend twice ).

7) they resync here villain says their favorite Pines is the love of their life we'll rule together over gravity falls (wether they like it or not)

8) the twin comes to save the villains favorite pines and they punch the shit out of the villain.

9 the pines learn a lesson of twins who stick together stay alive

Now for my point

So besides I think this is some killer writing. I am going to be anoying now becuse yes Bill haveing a fat crush on Ford is cannon and yeah I think that's a big deal because Alex made my queer coded villain king actually queer and that's just deeply cool. Alex set up a standard for what toxic men pursuing a unrequited relationship is and then had Bill do that that's not a acident and the doubling down in the book of bill adding more parallels than we already had from the show witch was alot makes this cristal clear. Now agin how Ford felt we can go back and forward about, but bill no that bitch gay sorry; our god Alex decreed it and there's nothing you can do about it. Thanks for reading K thanks Bye

My favourite paralells between Lunter and Zutara part 2!

1. Both Katara and Luz have lost a parent they loved. The relationship with the second parent went bad after, but in the end, after a long separation, they met them and established their relationship

2. Both Katara and Luz liked the ideal warrior hero, who turned out to be an antagonist.

Rewatching Season 1: Some thoughts on episode 4

1. Adar(s). This episode seems to be dominated by fathers and father figures. We are introduced to Adar, Lord Father of the Uruks, to Durin's father, king Durin III, and to Miriel's father Tar-Palantir. Elrond talks about his father Earendil and even Galadriel's father Finarfin is mentioned by Miriel. It's possible that Miriel is familiar enough with the history of Elves to know that Finarfin never joined Feanor's expedition, and perhaps she mentions him to Galadriel to imply that this is what wise Elves do, and what her father would have done: stay away from MIddle Earth.

One of the aspects of The Rings of Power that I greatly appreciate (and consider an improvement in comparison to Jackson's movies) is that it gives us a portrayal of Orcs who are capable of commitment, of having feelings, even of love. Orcs address their leader not as Master or military commander, but as Father, which is an emotionally charged title. Adar has tears in his eyes when he stabs the dying Orc to put an end to his suffering. After this we witness some kind of simple burial rite, which suggests to us that they also have a culture of their own. They are just as vicious and terrifying as the Orcs in Jackson's movies, but their interactions make them more complex and real.

Arondir puts three questions to Adar (Who are you? What are you? and Why do they call you Father?). Adar does not reply to any of them, but he gives a speech on sage blossoms in Belleriand which reveals his gentler side. We know Belleriand sank at the end of the First Age, so it gives us a hint that Adar was a First Age Elf. The mouth of the river he mentions is possibly Sirion, where some important events took place, and I wonder if he was one of the major players back then.

Elrond's father is mentioned three times in this episode, first in a conversation with Celebrimbor. It's interesting that Earendil made a prophecy according to which Celebrimbor's future will one day depend on Elrond. At this point Celebrimbor, being ambitions, thinks this refers to his future as a famed elven smith (that this is the future that Elrond will help him achieve). However, it's also possible that the prophecy refers to the battle for Eregion in which Elrond will try (and fail) to save Celebrimbor's life. The second time Earendil is mentioned is when Elrond swears on his memory that he will keep Durin's secret. The final mention is the most emotional one, where Elrond draws a parallel between Durin's situation and his own, pointing to his friend how lucky he is to still have a father he can talk to (or even quarrel with).

2. Helping Elves. In this episode, both the dwarves of Khazad Dum and Numenoreans have to decide whether they will interact with Elves, or keep to their respective realms in peace and isolation and mind their own business. In both cases, the Elves come as agents of change: Galadriel to Numenor and Elrond to Khazad Dum. They disrupt the existing state of affairs and ask for help and involvement. Miriel had a vision in which Galadriel's arrival would start a chain of events ending with Numenor's downfall. Of course, we know that it is not the arrival of Galadriel, but the arrival of Sauron, that will eventually bring about the doom of Numenor. I wonder why the palantir didn't show her that Halbrand was really Sauron?

It's also interesting to consider Halbrand's advice and whether Galadriel utilizes it or not. He instructs her to be manipulative -- to "find out what it is they (the Numenoreans) fear most, and then give them a way to master it". Galadriel understands what Miriel fears, but she does not try to manipulate her. Instead, she encourages her to make a moral choice, forgo her fears and just do what feels right -- by helping save the Southlanders' lives. Finally, however, it is not Galadriel's power of persuasion that causes Miriel to change her mind, but the fact that the White Tree begins to shed its leaves. In Tolkien's universe, trees convey important messages to people (Nimloth to Miriel, Lindon tree to Gil Galad) and wise people listen to them.
