Sonia and Komaeda getting along well enough to room together is so good honestly. Even if its mostly bc she takes no shit, Komaeda was still like the only person to stand up for her when Teruteru was trying to get frisky about her naiveté in the prologue/ch1.
I kind of suspect she was acting more unknowing than she really was then, to suit her role as a princess, but he had no way of knowing that then. Plus, if she was aware then, it might be easier for her to recognize the side of him that isn't all hope n murder? Since outside of the killing game he's pretty polite (if self effacing) and generally not down for creepy behavior.
If you've got any more thoughts on these two's interactions postgame, I'd love to hear.
I dont think it's perfect by any means (nothing on the ship is!) but its proooobably the best quick-solution scenario?

something i haven't seen discussed in my limited viewing of book-fandom spaces: cahir's attitude towards women and what it says about nilfgaardian attitudes towards women, especially women's health/reproductive health.
there's a throwaway line in baptism of fire where the hansa is discussing regis' danger to them as a vampire, where regis mentions that some cultures make their women isolate during menstruation, and cahir says "only savages" or something similar (it might be "barbarians", i listen to the audiobooks so i have a hard time finding exact wording). there's also the probably more well-known statement that he makes later on in the book when the men are discussing milva's pregnancy and he alludes to women having the absolute/final decision regarding whether to continue a pregnancy or pursue an abortion in his culture.
idk i just think it's neat. and he's an early-twenties soldier, so logically he should be pretty far removed from discussions of that nature - the fact that he's willing and able to make comments like that indicates to me that southern cultures speak pretty freely about menstruation, pregnancy, etc., and of course he mentions his sisters in relation to the comment about a woman's right to choose, but his remark about only savages making their women isolate themselves struck me as really interesting - like at best you would expect a man his age and of his status to just not care or pay attention or more likely to think it's disgusting - but he specifically goes out of his way to indicate his disapproval of women being forced to isolate for something natural and he goes out of his way to express that where he's from, women make their own reproductive choices. i am probably thinking about this more than sapkowski did but daddy i love him.

ngl folks
if it ever comes out that Kokichi was - very much Doylistly along with my ''Watsonian nonsense'' - a whole 'New World Order' conspiracy-scapegoat allegory baked into the fabric of V3 itself?
I don't know what I'm gonna feel first: relieved at the vindication, or totally fucking enraged at being denied vindication all these years

Read a fic and found myself thinking “what if Mac got hurt bad trying to save Swk from the furnace or any other thing he wasn’t there for” would Swk tell him he shouldn’t have come instead, because Swk should have been strong enough to handle it as the monkey king or would it cool the flames just a bit to prevent full blown disaster later down the line. also, love how the shadowpeach fight happens with Mac already feeling like he betrayed Swk, like he doesn’t even have to say it Macky is already feeling that way and trying to suppress his other feelings because it feels wrong to feel them when your conscious is reminding you that you betrayed your friend and oh, when the lid pressing down on a steaming tea pot is knocked off those emotions come harsh and fast. So how’s your day going?
my day was pretty good……………until i read this :)

having now watched a handful of curated metalocalypse eps i have to say the fact that they have to squeeze everything into ten minutes makes a lot of things incredibly funny, like. s2e14 where they hire the other manager, that guy weasels his way into their good graces & convinces them to fire charles in like, one night, and then the big intense fight to the death happens in the last twenty seconds of the ep, implying that charles having lethal rooftop fencing matches is just another tuesday for him, and that is INCREDIBLY funny.
