Imagine Annabeth and Percy have a kid early, unplanned and it kinda fucks with their finances so Percy drops out of school to get a job so he can care for the kid and support Annabeth in school. At first he gets a job teaching kids sword fighting but then he hears about underwater welding which pays well because it’s dangerous but Percy is a child of the sea so it’s much less so for him. His boss is even willing to give him flexible hours which means Annabeth doesn’t have to take their kid to class anymore and they can actually afford daycare (why does is it the price of a mortgage nowadays???). A huge financial burden is lifted and Percy doesn’t mind the work so it’s good all the way around.

Fast forward to when Annabeth is done her masters in architecture and lands a job at a top firm. They’ve got savings and have Annabeth’s income to rely on. Percy heads back to school and finishes a degree in marine biology, going on to research some really niche topics like how underwater welding impacts the environment and shifting from there until he’s a well known expert in the field.

Just them finding their way. Supporting each other and landing on their feet no matter what

i think something horrible is that dick grayson will always put himself in positions of service for other people regardless of what situations surround the circumstance and so there will always be people who believe it is their right to take from him whether it is through his acts, his body, or his whole being and sometimes those people are the people he loves and trusts most and they dont do it to be nefarious or evil or consciously selfish but they believe it is natural that dick grayson gives and as such they believe it is okay to take what is assumed will be given anyways but its not and never is and sometimes they will never understand

Okay I'm so sleep deprived so pardon whatever this is but something that's got me FUCKED up about ai generated pictures songs writing is that it just fucking kills the ability to analyse for me because there's no fucking INTENTION behind it. Like why was this decision made why were these colours used what does that say about the work NOTHING because a bunch of programming took work that DID have intent and theme and purposeful choices and turned it into SLOP. Like I COULD analyse this but it doesn't MEAN anything it's EMPTY I want to EXPLODEEE

Fëanor became a mad scientist sure, but I love the idea that Curufin was inherently a mad scientist.

I’m talking Henry Jekyll and Victor Frankenstein levels of the reason no one remembers what Curufin did is some of it was so horrific, such a perverse twist of life and death and magic, it had to be forgotten. To ensure his work *never* made its way to Morgoth or Sauron’s or anyone else’s hands, his brothers spent their lives meticulously cracking down on every lore master who left even a hint of what really went on in Curvo’s workshops.

In every history book he’s written in the shadow of Fëanor and the silmaril. He’s cunning. He’s crafty. But no one must remember his own brand of innovation and insight, more terrifying than Fëanor’s ever was.

Celebrimbor had to get his ideas from somewhere after all. They’re just lucky he decided to use them for healing and rejuvenation of already living things.

On The Prince's awakening, and enlightenment through echoes

While the throne has probably existed for eons, and something was starting to coalesce at its peak, it is pretty openly stated that it is watcher's precense in the throne what acted as catalyst for the birth of the prince's selfhood

Ahh! To move! To breathe free!

Never again... STARVING, pressing, grinding, SQUEEZING

against... us? But now... I? A... SELF And... an OTHER.

Oh the joy! The incomparable JOY!

Ahhh hah... familiar.

There was... such discomfort... and hunger. Endless hunger! And then... a presence!

A light! A scent! A tunnel! To freedom! How beautiful, FREEDOM!

A scent. Familiar. So familiar.

The watcher is probably the first living thing to be to the throne proper in an eternity

But I think there's more to this

4 karma "murals", 4 karma upgrades

4 visits, 4 warp points

Watcher's visits brought enlightenment like visiting echoes would do for a slugcat

"The highest enlightenment, achieved by the hardest path. A feat even guardians must respect" This achievement requires the player to raise their maximum karma to the highest level without visiting Five Pebbles. To do this, the player must find 4 out of the 6 Echoes, each of which raise the player's maximum karma by a small amount. All 4 Echoes must be found before visiting Five Pebbles. The achievement is earned as soon as the last Echo raises the player's karma level to the maximum of 10.

And is not as simple as just visiting 4 times either: for this awakening to properly progress you must make it to the top, eat the karma flower, then make it to a previously sealed chamber to open a warp point there

Enlightenment is gaining knowledge, understanding, insight

Perhaps Echoes don't just give you more karma merely by merit of being extraplanar beings with influence over karma itself, or by the insight behind their anecdotes

Perhaps Echoes give you a glimpse into what lies beyond, a window to the fractal layers of reality

Perhaps what is happening here is something similar, the watcher showing the throne other worlds through the paths

the karma flowers though, thats harder to understand

perhaps the one at the very top represents the little death that is sleep ("like sleep like death")

Echoes always send you back to sleep after all

Firstly, happy pride month!!!! Secondly, I'm here to report that I am back to writing! After Chapter 3 released I took a few weeks break. I wasn't expecting it, but I took a break from writing in general, instead of just BA, which I wasn't expecting but I very much think I needed it lol

I've already got some things written, although most if it is stuff I moved from Chapter 3 into Chapter 4 because it made more sense pacing wise. I have written a few thousand words on top of that, though, as well as revising old pre-existing scenes to fit where they'll go in Chapter 4!

For now, I'll leave you with one of the moved scenes from Chapter 3. Have fun figuring out what's going on with this one lol
