I saw your tags on the post you reblogged from me and as someone who is from a... pretty homophobic country (Nigeria) I feel similarly to you on seeing representation that involves queer people. even to the extent that seeing black gay people in ethnic clothing from ANY region of Africa makes me tear up a bit. I feel you. queer poc have got to stick together :)

!!!! sad that we have to go through that, but glad to know none of us feeling like this is alone :)

so much of the time it feels there's this big disconnect between queer culture and any other kind of culture, mostly because of a gigantic gap in representation of queer ppl in non-white settings

but hey its very epic of us to be everywhere and keep finding and sharing our experiences!

man, people are always asking me to describe shit like i have any idea

i don’t really know just,, someone who is respectful and nice and cuddly, and will talk to me about things they like and do things with me, but is also happy to just chill; someone sarcastic and funny who will get into pun wars with me, who gets along with my sister. I guess also someone who’s protective and willing to stand up for themselves and others, and who’s open-minded and can actually talk about their feelings without it turning into some big argument or conflict

they’d be into science or the arts, and we’d dye each others hair in the bathroom at 2am.

17. i’ve gotten yarn for a blanket for my mom, but i’ve sat that aside to work on some other more urgent projects. i do need it done by may, though, so once i finish up my current wip i need to jump right back in and play a LOT of catch up

19. i’m an all-day every day kind of knitter. i try my best to knit while i work on school. it helps me focus a lot.

20. okay so. my very first project (dec. 2020) was a very PLAIN garter stitch scarf. it sucks, looking back at it. i’m currently working on a giant patchwork cardigan, so i don’t have any great picture of it yet (since it’s all in pieces).
