I'm rereading TLT because I have horrible impulse control and i will never get over the stark contrast of the Lotus Casino scenes of both the movie and book
Because movie Percy's like:
Percy: *high on lotus flowers having the time of his life* This is amazing~
Poseidon: *godly whispera in his brain* Percy you're in trouble get out of there
Percy: Oh sh*t he's right! We gotta go
Meanwhile the absolute perfection book Percy goes:
Percy: *while playing games* Oh man I having a great time! I feel warm and happy and relaxed and safe and enjoying life! I have not felt this amazing in years!
Percy:.....
Percy: something's horribly wrong

Today on the list of "good stuff that happened": I got to tell my brother about how Percy Jackson in the Son of Neptune is absolutely insane and spends basically the whole book just making the Romans go "?!"
Highlights include exploded water cannons during war games, showing up carrying a goddes and tearing apart furies with a whirlpool, mouthing off to Mars, third-wheeling/babysitting the precious young smoll inexperienced beans that are Frazel, willingly drinking Maybe Poison, and generally breaking a lot of things by Fighting Like a Greek. Continued to explain that the best part about the multiple perspectives in these books is this:
Percy: I'm a loser, lol! I have no idea what I'm doing, also everyone is cooler than me and I'd die for them! Also Annabeth is cute when she's threatening people with a knife.
Annabeth: *while planning 6 steps ahead* Percy is an idiot. Dear gods I love him so much. Such a wonderful idiot.
Literally everyone else: Percy is (one of) the most powerful demigod(s) I've ever heard of, and he gives no shits about any rules anymore. This man is scary and dangerous and I am so glad he's on my side. Annabeth is a terrifying force to behold and I can't keep up with her. I am unsure if them being so in love with each other makes it better or worse. If they ever turn evil, we are so fucked.

I know this is a very unpopular opinion, but god I hope they don't play fucking poker face in the Lotus Casino scene.

We all know Leo's scandalised to know Jason never watched Cars, right?? Same goes for Hazel??
Well I can't stop imagining him doing movie nights with Hazel and Jason to make up for all the childhood stuff they missed !!!

If you genuinely thought Rick and the writers would pay homage to those movies when for the past year and a half racist trolls online have been using those same damn movies to harass the cast of CHILDREN … there’s no hope for you.

Am I the only one tired of this fandom revolving around Percy so much? I like him, but you guys act like literally no one else matters
The other characters suffer from it. And I get that he kinda gets the most development, but I don't really see people lobbying for Carter to get more books so he can shine, like you guys genuinely don't care about these characters outside of Percabeth and maybe Nico, and it annoys me.
I'm so sick of hearing how Percy is the strongest, or the most well-adjusted, or I kid you not, I've seen people say Percabeth is the most functional couple in YA fiction. Like, that's kinda conceited, don't you think?
I was kinda brought up on these books differently? I started with the Kane Chronicles, so I wasn't here when the books released, so to me Percy never was first and most important, just one of the many characters.
