Breaking Free from Negative Thought Patterns: Mindset Shifts for Improved Mental Health

I really, really don't like when people call Korra a tomboy, or masculine. And this is absolutely a personal opinion thing, like don't take what I say as gospel. People are entitled to characterising a character how they want.
Like, barring the very obvious masculanisation of a queer brown girl, a topic it's not my place to really speak on, I just kinda don't think it's warranted? Like Korra's "tomboyishness" has always kinda felt more like social awkwardness and her essentially having been locked away for most of her developmetal years.
Tumblr media
Like, getting into projection territory, being agender, my own relationship with gender is complex, but I've always considered myself more on the fem side, sometimes to a very exaggerated degree. However, I don't wear makeup, at all. In fact, I find a lot of stuff like makeup and nail polish... intimidating?
I grew up in a very restrictive conservative enviornment that didn't allow me to do things girls my age did, and frankly, I felt like I'd just missed out on fem practice lol. Presenting feminine feels like a performance, and I never got the script, so I am simply too scared to participate.
And this is probably projection, but I just felt very seen when Korra was shown to be a character who was apprehensive, but not hostile to feminine presentation. A character who got defensive and intimidated when confronted with Asami, who performed femininity "better". And I think its not just because Asami was a romantic rival, but because Korra hadn't the opportunities to express herself like Asami does. The ways she describes Asami aren't really jealous, they're wistful.
Tumblr media
Which yes, Korrasami, but also, I think there's certainly some admiration to how Asami presents herself.
While Korra has typically "masculine" traits, confident, headstrong, quick to anger, physical, these don't really seem to dictate her gender presentation, not as they do with Toph, who outright rejects femininity. Korra is shown to gather courage to try makeup, wear dresses without the typical grumbling of the tomboy archetype and enjoy sappy romance stories. She's still girly in her own right, it just a femininity that doesn't fit regular standards for feminine presentation.
Tumblr media
So while I don't technically begrudge anyone calling Korra masculine, it always kinda just felt like it took away from her character, to me at least

i wanna know about any ocs you have. this is a lore demand. /j

I'm sorry but you've just made a big mistake, I won't shut up about them
Okay I have like 17+ of them so I'm only going to talk about a couple of my faves and two for the project I just got going. Blanket gore warning ⚠️
Everyone has at least one Escaped Goverment Experiemnt oc, and Allásson is mine. Likely one of my most developed because she and Mal (you'll see him later) have been my mains in a roleplay running for 4+ years now. They're a genderfluid body horror shapeshifter, (any pronouns) mixed race and half hispanic. Lore wise, her parents died in a car crash and evil scientists took her, she escaped and lives in the woods eating deer and working at a small town gift shop now. I also have a wip half sibling for him that has umbrakinesis (that's it, that's literally all I have on them) and I want them to meet and and go on adventures and something I really want to do with their story is have Al connect with her heritage more.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Woman belongs to my friend @akalimbratic
Basically I saw the hand art from this post reposted on pinterest and saw jacksepticeye play a horror game (I can't find anymore) In the same week and I ran with the ideas that popped into my head. Allásson is the host to a colony of an alien parasitic lifeform that rapidly and artificially mutates it's host for their mutual survival, it only has rudimentary sentience and can't talk or communicate, but the events were traumatizing for both Al and fibs (name for this specific colony of the parasite in meta) and they were so altered by their time in captivity that one cannot survive without the other. Al uses the fibers to move parts of her body around at a microscopic level and shapeshift and dislocate bones at will because he's weird.
Malcolm, now Malcolm is my *throws at wall* /affectionate oc. He's human, or he used to be at least. (You may remember him from the notes of the blood whump post) He's the other one that's been around a while in that long running rp (older version in the image on right), but basically he's just some teenager born into the most plain white bread normal christian family possible, his mom's a librarian and his dad's an accountant, and he's the nerdiest, gayest, silliest, gen z, most atrocious fashion sense little goober I have. Also he got cursed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I have these demon/dreamon things (I really need to come up with a better name for them) in my lore that are invisible to people and kinda like ghosts, and will latch onto a person with life troubles and worsen their mental state to feed off the emotional energy, usually by entering their dreams and causing nightmares. Usually they go away on their own or when someone gets therapy, but if a person that has one attached suddenly has a massive dip in mental health (traumatic event, friend goes missing, getting struck by magic lightning, etc.) the demon will go into a feeding frenzy and "turn" the person into another dreamon, they dissapear from the physical plane and lose their humanity and higher thinking. This happened to Mal, but the process was interupted when he woke up from the nightmare on his own, so he was only half turned. Now he has a tail and his blood glows blue, he can enter other people's dreams, (he mostly uses this out-of-bounds to draft up fanfiction ideas) and turn into a spooky half dreamon thing at will :)
Petra and Blake are my two oldest ocs that I haven't scrapped
Petra is an android, she's designed with biomimicry in mind, and her name is an acronym for Prototype Exploration Transport and Research Android. She was meant to explore planets and enviroments humens couldn't, but she glitched while in developmet and started to develop sapience, she killed her creators before really knew what free will meant, and ran away. In the roleplay I just got running she's the engineer and local menace on a crew of space pirates, and their ship and the one they were trying to raid just crashed on an uncharted planet. (She has already been accidentally shot in the face by her friend and he burned her (non grow backable) eyebrows) She's energetic and swears a lot, aroace, and gets really really attached to people she cares about. Stabby the roomba is her adopted son and she is Petra the stabby, she likes knives. Her hair is made of light reactiive filiments that she uses to solar charge, and her "muscle" is purple :D
Tumblr media
I don't have any newer art for her aside from this and I am not digging up the old shit.
Blake actually used to be a Subnautica oc while BZ was in early development, but I've repurposed her for my own worldbuilding project later. Her father's ship goes down and breaks up in the atmosphere, but she gets to a pod and is the only survivor, stranded on the alien arctic where she has been fending for herself for the last 5-ish years. She's got a small alliance with the natives there (they're fluffy seal people with lil snail antenne and ::3 faces) but they kinda view her as a tiny spooky ice cryptid. You know how much I love my unhinged alien planet survivors.
Tumblr media
I will leave you with this for now, because i have so many more but there are so few hours in the day 😔

I watched Blue Eye Samurai!
Something different for a change..let's make a series review! I finally came around to watching this Netflix Show that caught my interest about a year ago. Short summary: a full 8.5/10! Read under the cut if you want the long (not spoiler free) version of my review:
So first, let me tell you what I loved:
The Soundtrack? 10/10. That thing is beautiful, atmospheric, fitting...just overall, I love it.
The Voice Cast! 10/10 I just really think they are really fitting for their characters! Especially love the bad guys' voices.
The Artwork holy cow. 10/10. This thing could be a movie piece with how much care and effort is put into each background. Character designs also top notch! The colours, wow.
Scene writing/Shot writing. 10/10. I think they are done marvellously. The composition of each scene, how it progresses, the narration, I got nothing to complain!
Which, now, brings me to the overall story of the show! It's not a bad story, not at all, but I still have two things that I personally would have liked differently:
One, I am a bit disappointed that there's a second season. Probably a strong personal reference but I would have preferred this story to be done in one season only. It feels like they are turning this story about revenge into a bigger epos of finding your identity, coming to terms with the past and finding a new reason to keep going. Which are all cool themes. But, I'm not all that interested in them with these characters. I would have much rather preferred they keep this short, either Mizu gets her revenge, breaks apart in the process, or fails...whatever, but a quick definite ending for this story. On top of that, I don't feel like Mizu is really in a different place at the end of the season compared to the beginning. Of course she has found friends, and when she went back to her master she cleared her head to NOT be the demon everyone sees her at. But at the end, we're still on our way to England, for her to get her revenge. I'm sure they will make a good story out of it nonetheless- but with all the amazing skills in this project, they had the potential to make a great story out of it! Something shorter but with much more impact!
Which brings me to point 2: The story itself. Because it's a good story- but it's not a story that makes me go „Woaah ooof“ The writing of the scenes I think is really high level, but when it comes to the overall story, there's nothing that really takes me by surprise? For example: Mizu being a woman, and making her own sword out of the meteorite. Her childhood antagonist reappearing, they start off as antagonists but with some witty bickering they become somewhat friends, only to promise the potential to become even more in season 2. Of course they are back at the swordsmith's place before the final battle so that Mizu can find clarity of mind there. And Akemi, the girl that never should have been allowed to chose her own path stands atop the ruins of a country, where she might be one of the leading figures in s2. I like that there's a lot of character developmet with most characters, and that the circumstances are drastically different at the end of s1- but in a way, it feels a bit cliché to me.
My biggest fear is that everything that has been teasered, like the romance between Mizu and Taigen, Akemi's path to power, Mizu's return to the master to make her own sword- and everything that I can imagine Mizu might encounter in the new land with all the conflicting feelings that facing her ancestry will bring her- my fear is, that this might all come to be, in some way. I want to be surprised, and I want sudden unexpected elements to enter the story and change the relatively clear path that the characters are on! And going by season1, I'm not entirely sure I might get that. Well, that all sounds a bit more negative that it should probably. It's a great show! I'm just sulking a bit because..well, they could have closed everything off in one epic season with an epic showdown and BOY would I have loved to see a story about revenge where the main character completely breaks apart after accomplishing their goal. Anyway, I'm still excited for s2, and I dearly hope that everything I said and predicted here will be proven wrong!

Senera's Moral Walk - Not cut for Gossip, and not for the Truth
I firmly believe that in Gossip Girl there exist two aesthetics of truth or action. Looking at the series directly you'd think there is the private developmets forming between the characters, and then the dramatic culmination through each Gossip-er, including Gossip Girl as selective tool or voice of action.
While that is true, I rather think there are two truths that permeate to even apply to the set itself vaguely (although I'm not as well read in that part).
The characters in Gossip Girl act to effect a certain beneft, for themselves or a moral principle, and everyone can be caught meddling in strange affairs for that end on numerous occasions.
The way the characters and their truth or action are depicted is a strange thing though, and I believe this is what makes the "Gossip" really shine - on the one hand you have honest characters with good intentions that do questionable or wrong things to other characters that think and act the same, and then you have characters that also have certain honest motives which are not out in the open, not fitting of the aesthetic of honesty, or wo aren't worth understanding to each "honest" character to benefit them.
Gossip Girl, terrible timing and conductive of horrible social habits of the upper east side (like "preying on the weak"(- S.) or just sexism). Jenny Humphrey at times, who just doesn't seem to know "where the line" is. Even Georgina Sparks, who must be terrible given that she doesn't do any good to any specific character and has unpredictable or nonexistent motives.
I'm pretty sure you all know this, but next to Blair obviously even Serena and others had sexism on their mind, or subconscious?
The main cast might seem like a trapped bunch under the reign of GGs whims, but with how the show progresses it rather seems like a much pathetic mess that still privileges itself by being an Exclusive Club.
Jenny Humphrey has been a stark indicator of the shows general nonsense (atleast at the 'beginning' much more) if you cared to actually comprehend and weren't fanatically struggling to pin all blame on her and dividing external blame by calling it "the upper east side" that was just "too much for her".
Just in, Serena's first IT Line guys:
"Rufus, how many problems does Jenny have to cause until you realize *she's* the problem."
*turns around elegantly & scene CUT*
Serena may not be the sole conductor of the show's (or normative) opinion, but she is so very often.
Jenny has not always been clean in her traversing of the glamorous upper east side, but even though characters acting in the drama genre require a little bit of slow-thinking and blindness this was simply outrageous, and I personally believe that the polarized debate or even early trend of Jenny Hatred back then was an effect of the dominant crowd which held strongly the then and there more dominant beliefs which are much less beliefs and more so an aesthetic (which does include sexism (and ableism), but also follows a tumblr-ish simplicism that is just as amnestic as the characters when dealing with Jenny). It's impossible for everyone to know everything happening to her, but certain things much early on so don't need a GG blast to be transparent.
"I don't care about the gossip, and frankly I'm used to it here. But Gossip Girl has to be stopped, I can't bear seeing her go after people that are vulnerable." Something like that.
What is the recipe to finally having moral enlightenment and expressing it with might?
Call someone by their name to be intimate, bring up something that isn't fully related to what's happening but has been bothering you anyway, and try to scoff and keep the head bobbing to a minimum (unlike Little J) so your point isn't discredited by distrust or patronism against the teenage-brat-girl image.
Sorry, but you probably know what I'm getting at?
It's wonderful that Serena has stopped drinking and finally taken up some responsibility, trying to now be there for her brother. But what development lead her to that grandiose conclusion a few seasons later? If Serena was anything of a philantrophe (which frankly you have to be if you moralize meddling in complicated affairs you only know a fractured perspective about), then how could she let Blair treat Jenny like that? It has been a pattern probably all their lives, and it's understandable if Serena wished to be out of the spotlight (which wasn't possible anyway when her return settled in), but Serena knew Jenny, and wasn't as busy as she would soon be to not have the time to tell Blair to not to try to get her 1. arrested and steal 2. drink alcohol 3. be involved in seducing a man 4. Herself be extensively classist and whatnot.
When Serena was Queen S for a day it was an aesthetic overdrive, and it did even make me blush because she can *walk*. But when Jenny was Queen, right off her mission was to stop the bullying. It may be because Jenny had the experience of it, but Serena is mature and continuously boasted about "being glad to leave High School behind". She does know how to use HS, college, and all of the upper east side when she feels like it though. Maybe she and Lily (with the fake signature) are quite alike: See an opportunity, take it. Wouldn't be surprised if Serena was GGs most loyal source (Serena herself said she would expect that).
Infact, the first few episodes that we see is EXACTLY how Serena's world looks like in my opinion, so maybe GGs world isn't far off from hers too:
That bi#ch Blair (well she is) is just so mean, I think I should just skip town this is above my paygrade.
Well whenever Serena talked to Jenny she was smiling so she must've been fine, when she was in the club she must've been #teenage-irresponsibility shame on her, and when she *dared* to use Gossip Girl in this weird way that is hurting people (me) that is just the last straw.
What inspired me to write this post was watching Serena and her little club for probably the -ifth time scurrying around Georgina for her help, just to then find a unecessarily extreme way of getting rid of her. For one, let's face it. They're really not that good at what they're doing.
Example right on hand: Georgina stuttering and contradicting her mood all doe-eyed in a hurried lady walk out the door (when security was threatened) because well she's just weird.
Or she has a fu#king clue to where Blair is (or so), because you can be as insane as you want she's still actually a able-minded "sane" person that obviously can plot and is doing so at this second, but well I guess that doesn't matter because the goldfish part of their brains remembered *omG Blair is missing right!*
Holding up your values for some villain isn't necessary when you have your private club of chaotic fr-enemies after all! They also don't realize that without Gossip Girl and the twilight of consensus and resistance to her posts they would be left as the selfish messes they all really are.
You can give them that, even without all of the spotlight to their perspective, you can see these are relatively well meaning characters that can infact respond to conditioning their trust in you (like Blair to her princess sister), but they are teenagers even in their progressive years, and in this case it sometimes feels like you could compare them to the squabbling arguments between you and your kindergarten friends: it's one thing being unable to understand the other's perspective, but it's a whole different thing being unable to keep your general mood and business out of the argument and keeping to the topic.
But this is an ode to the holy matrymony of the upper east side and their codependencies, especially between our queens S and B. Everyone interested enough for my personal idea of a climax, go to S5 E14 minute 29:50 on your DVD you shameless fan or Netflix. And if you ran out of allowance for the subscription:
B: It was you who sent in that video to GG?
C: And set me up to take the fall?
S: Um... Yeah-. Yeah fine it was uh...(*come on S thinkkk, I know you can find an excuse*)
It was me who did it, but I did it for the two of you.
B: It wasn't your choice to make (but ruining Jennys birthday against her wishes was? Also great serena-walk in that scene, too).
S: I didn't do it you hurt you, Blair...
**But you choosing to run away with Dan, knowing how I feel about him, that hurt, too.**
First of all you forgot the "btw", and second what Blair did *at best* was break a friendship pact of "stay away from my soon-to-be BF" whose own responsibility it is to not say "What, you love me? I um uh gotta go to the bathroom sry".
What Serena did was meddle in a theoretically happy future, and she likely did do it for Blair. But this isn't the reasoning she used because believe me I hope you do now:
Serena is not a good speaker, can't debate or otherwise hold her feet and can only turn the corner at the right time, and to be frank I bet she and her Morally High Horse could also pull that off in an elegant *piaffe* just fine too.
I'm not against Serena herself, I'm just using her to make a point about the show. I'd even argye that the most hated two girl characters are the coolest people as actors, Michelle Trachtenberg and Jenny Humphrey.

Look kidnap someone in hopes this person JOINS your organization is a dumb move, plus Shig doesnt have the means to brainwash BK like MPA did with their canon folders.
Also fics (as a sgdk fic writer myself I feel I can talk about this as an expert) where Ozu joins LoV bc
1) AM is quirkcist
2) Shig is right
Are always wrong. Always. Shig has never been right about anything "but he said a cool line" and immendiatly went to murder kids. Like...no thought here.
Shig is alwsys wrong. An au where they work together SHIG would be the one to go to development (posts saying/blaming Izu for not saving Shig fast enough does make my blood boil "He didnt undergo a character developmet to reach Shig" oh my god, shut up!) And change....
I do think Izu with Shig would ne treated well...than he is in UA. Shig could use that at his advantage.
Shig with a different goal and earning Izu's trust...
Now that is interesting.
We speak about redemption for Shig...
But how about domestication? How about Shig wanting to rule Japan with Izu and Izu accepts? That would have been different.
@theuntamedangel hey about the whole idea of Izu being the one kidnapped by Shig, I say this: why kidnap Izu? This is a bad way to make them know each other. How about the! Talking in a normal setting...or to show some humanity Shig is the one to save Izu from bk?
Bk has canonically tried to murder Izu.

Are you more a superhero/action kind of person or a magic/fantasy kind of person? Also if you are a more magic/fantasy person how much value do you place on lore?
Definitely a magic / fantasy kind of person. I much prefer that setting to a lot of other ones, including modern and sci-fi. Tho I am partial to Solarpunk (and to a lesser extent, cyberpunk)
I actually quite actively dislike a lot of superhero stuff. Marvel / DC has ruined a lot of it for me. (If I were to pick some standouts, I would probably pick Spider-Man and Powerpuff Girls as notable superhero narratives that I do enjoy)
I love a good lore! A solid lore is incredibly valuable to a story. But it's never as important as good characters (and their dynamics) and a good story.
Lore should serve the sole purpose of supporting a good narrative, because lore can, and has, gotten in the way of a series developmet. Friendship is Magic is a very big, very glaring example of how people's insistence on "more lore" can ruin a series.
I do love worldbuilding for fun!! So dont get me wrong. But lore is like, a secondary asset of a story.

Personal Developmet Day 1 Blog Entry
Today, I started asking myself "Do I really know you?" "What other characteristics or traits do I not yet know?" "Is there anything I can do or is there more than I do?" All these questions are related to Ms. Yu's topic. I hope all the questions in my mind can be answered by myself when I fully know myself. I don't do drama but I still don't really understand myself well.
Btw, I'm happy because my family and safe today. I hope people who are reading my blog have a nice and blessed day.❤️

I don't have an issue about MacGyver talking abut BLM. It's absolutely great they've done that! I hope they keep touching on sensitive subjects moving forward. Not necessarily social or political issues, just human issues you know?
What I don't like at all is the way they decided to do it.
Very extense and critical rambling under the cut. I don't know why I got so invested in this sneak peek lol.
Hopefully, my discomfort with it will dissipate once we get the full episode!
I know sneak peeks are taken out of context but... let's take it at face value for now.
Firstly, you expect me to believe that this would be a normal conversation between two human beings that are in the middle of a riot? Sure, let's stop walking in the middle of this convulted enviroment to catch up with our lives, why not.
Secondly, you expect me to believe that Mac -our MacGyver- would be embarrassed about "joining the cause late" and because of that he decided to hide it? Like what- excuse me?
Thirdly, Riley saying "Honestly I never really thought you saw my skin color"?? For real? Because she doesn't say it as in "you've never judge me by ethnic roots" she says it as she "I thought you hadn't noticed my ethnic roots".
Are we deciding to forget that Mac dated a Nigerian woman (Nasha) all the way back in Season 3? A person whom he cared about deeply!!
And wait, we don't have to go back to Season 3. MacGyver has been dating a woman with Asian roots for almost TWO WHOLE SEASONS.
You guys understand why this strikes me as dumbing down the audience.
I wouldn't have gotten so worked up about this if I hadn't watched last night's New Amsterdam episode (3x04). They NAILED inclusiveness, diversity and representation in THE OPENING ONLY. It was so beautifully done that this snippet of MacGyver pales in comparison.
For reference, I'll explain how New Amsterdam did it.
The episode opens with a small update of all the main characters lives. I'm going to center on Dr. Helen Sharpe but I want to make a special mention that Max (who lost someone important more than a season ago) is still dealing with grief in a very human and realistic way. Because, HEY, this show doesn't ERASE grief out of existence!
> Anyways, we get all the little troubling updates and lastly they show us Helen. She's in a good space. She's in bed with a sexy Asian doctor that she has decided to have a relationship with. Everything looks fine until she gets a phone call and Helen starts speaking... FARSI?
Yes. Farsi.
For context, Helen has been a character that even though we've have a lot of developmet for her in previous seasons, the show had never touched her background story. They hinted stuff from her past but never really exposed it clearly to the audience. This is the first time it happens.
And in ONE LITTLE SCENE they beautifully introduced us her ethnicity which means they've also introduced (yet another) diversity and representation in the show.
Subtly, not in your face. She didn't randomly tell some other doctor "Hey I'm from Iran". It was WRITTEN IN the story.
The phone call was an emergency call that gave her A PLOT for the episode and also a propellor to develop her as a character.
What they did with MacGyver was basically write a bunch of EXPOSITION and they didn't really wrote in the episode, they just smashed the piece of dialogue where it fit better.

The Capitol Riots and Martin Luther King's Question of "Where Do We Fo from Here?"
I have seen many people ask today, "What would Dr. Marting Luther King Jr say about the seditious attacks we witnessed on the Nation's Capitol.
Tumblr media
Dr. King would begin with prayer and end with a call to action. In fact he already did, for in his speech in 1967 at the 11th Annual Southern Christian Leadership Council, Dr King already asked, "Where do we go from here?"
He would ask us the same question today.
Where Do we Go From Here?
While a man jailed 29 times for pacifist protest methods would never condone the violence he would still forgive the rioters while calling for justice for those who instigated, organized , and collaborated with the attack.
Dr King would recognize that while White mobs rioted at Our House to take away votes in predominatley Black neighborhoods that, "With all the struggle and all the achievements, we must face the fact, however, that the Negro still lives in the basement of the Great Society"
White mobs ransacked the Nation's capitol while millions, fifty three years after King/s speech still dwell in the basement. I hope Reverend Dr. could still ask, "Where do we go from here?" without a tear, but I would not begrudge the emotion of pain.
Let's be clear. #StopTheSteal was an effort to steal black votes. Get out a map. Circle where all the "Dominion" machines possesd by Hugho Chavez's ghost lived. Black neighborhoods.
All the claims of dead voters, spiked vote counts, and wildly edited conspiracy videos of vount counting. Precincts in Black Neighborhoods.
Dr. King would see President Trump for what he is. Not a racist. Something worse. Someone who realized they could stoke white fear of "Immigrant" and "over run" sububrbs due to fair housing laws, for personal gain.
Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. would still forgive Trump, but he would call on us all to keep marching for racial equality by focusing on economic justice. For as Dr. King noted, "And so we still have a long, long way to go before we reach the promised land of freedom."
What we witness reaffiermes that we as a society must focus on economic injustice as our North Star. In 1967 Dr. King reminded the leaders of the civil rights movement that struggle continued:
We still need some Paul Revere of conscience to alert every hamlet and every village of America that revolution is still at hand. Yes, we need a chart; we need a compass; indeed, we need some North Star to guide us into a future shrouded with impenetrable uncertainties.
Fight With Love
Not a fight of violence but one of love. After summarizng the accomplishments of the movement Dr. Martin Luther King  decribes some cutlural artifacts of racism: the number of negative connoations for black compared to white in the thesaurus, the difference in Colleges, and the differences in Elementary schools.
Dr King argued we fight this injustice by establishing the political and economic power of Black America. Dr King called for a "new Olympian" to seize political and economic power.
Dr King would appluad Kamala Harris and Senator Warnock. I wonder if Dr. King even thought possible a member of his congregation would sit as a Senator for the state of Georgia. A state that jailed Dr King dozens of times fighting for voting rights.
The Reverend would also expect the reaction from White America to delefitimize the election and steal votes from black neighborhoods. He would expect a Whtie President overwhelmingly supported by the Whtie Deep South to call the Governor of Georgia and ask im to find over eleven thousand votes. One more needed to re-elect Trump.
When Dr King would ask, "Where do we go from here?" in 2021 the message of economic justice and struggle would remain.
Not through hate but through love. King noted that the Wester philosophers, established a false dichotomoy between Power and Love.
Now, we got to get this thing right. What is needed is a realization that power without love is reckless and abusive, and that love without power is sentimental and anemic. (Yes) Power at its best [applause], power at its best is love
Power at its best is love. This sums up the philosophy of Dr. Martin King Jr better than "I have a Dream". Dr. King went on to starte Black America had the morality and no power to achieve their goals and White America had the power and no morality.
It had to begin with love, and with econmic injustic
Economic Injustice
Every year we focus on a message of unity when children all over the country read "Letters from Birmingham" or watch a two minute clip of the, "I Have a Dream" speech.
Our Hallmark version iof King's message glosses over his opnions on enconomic inequity. When Dr King asked, "Where do we go from here?" in 2021 the calls for basic income.
"We must create full employment, or we must create incomes. People must be made consumers by one method or the other"
Dr. Martin Luther King then goes on to describe the economics of a basic income. He compares the cost of the Vietnam War and sending a man to the moon and calls for work not just to sustain a living but to sustain identiy, community and life.
Dr. King called for a restructuring of American society, while Make America Great Again represents, a hopefully dying call for White Fright and Supremacy many of the rioters and terrorists who attacked the capitol can be reached with messages of economic injustice.
Abraham Lincoln won nomination not by supporting Black America but by winnign enough White votes by proclaiming Slavery hurt economic opportunity for the White poor.
Just like the urban decay of the 70s and 80s fueld the crack/cocain epidemic (when it was a war) the Opiod pandemic (now a mental health and economic opportunity issue) has devsetated middle America.
The factories have shuttered. First the the textiles (having free Slave labor for raw materials makes pricing competitive) then the post WWII factories cranking out goods when all of Europe's production cabability laid in bombed out ruins.
Basic income may not be palatable to most Americans. They are too bsy arguing over the size of the stimulus checks and size of the monthly unemployment checks  to prop up the economy during COVID-19.
What Can We Do?
Yet we can fight for economic justice by investing in negelected communities through the support of minority owned businesses.
We can rethink HigherEd Education which rewards centuries of White Supremacy. All the research money flows to Research Universities to study how to fix people of color. Instead it should flow to the people of Color who make up commuinity college.
We can rethink the Carnegie hour in general. Education focuses on College AND career readiness but we do not invest enough in work force developmet. Our nation will see a massive shortage in health care, advanced manufacturting, data science, cyber security and analytics.
Create training in communities of color and economically divested rural areas.
National Broadband. You can give out jobs with checks. The COVID-19 Pandemic laid bare the racism of broadband in our urban areas and isolation of America's rural country. Why not a Worker's Progress Adminstration, a Great Depression jobs program, for the digitla era?
We could roll out high speed Interent to everyone, train local people to help secure local networks, and make sure everyone has access to a digital economy.
Where Do We Go From Here?
The Reverened Dr. Main Luther King Jr asked that question 53 years ago. After the seditous terrorist attack on our Capitol every American should askem themselves the same question today.
Dr, King's answer would begin with love. We must seek power through love. Even your neighbors who do not see their disbelief in math as an attack on minority voters. Even the asshats who believe a secrect cabal of pedophiles Satan Worshippers run DC. Especially the asshats.
When you love all of humanity you want everyone to thrive and as a Nation of love we would restructure our economy to ensure we provide pathways to economic justice.

Not only has he freckles on his neck, but also on his cheek! The shadow over his face makes it hard to see, but if you squint really hard, you can see them!
Tumblr media
He has them in the exact same spot as Izuku. In this picture his hair is dark/black and maybe that was just an error on the animators part, but for a while now I have the theory that AFO has (at least) TWO different appearances - his civil (Hisashi) and his villain (AFO) form! Just like All Might has his civil (Toshinori) form and his hero (All Might) form, because All Might and AFO are parallels to each other, just like Izuku and Tomura!
As AFO his hair is not just white, but also much shorter and not as fluffy as in the picture above. Maybe its because he is supposed to be younger here, maybe his hair turned white because of some traumatic event, or maybe he has a quirk that allows him to chance his appearance at will (so he can look more intimidating to others and not like a sunshine boy like Izuku, who nobody takes seriously until it’s to late for them!!!)
If its the last point, then maybe Hori plans to troll us a little in the future! Just imagine the prison break out happens and at some point Hisashi returns home, but he doesn’t look like Afo at all. Casual readers and people who don’t like the Dfo theory will be like: “HA! You see, it was just a stupid fan theory from the beginning! I told you so!!! The people who stan this theory will be so dissapointed!!!”
And then BAAAMMMM 100 chapters or so later it will be revealed that he IS Afo and that he can chance his face with a quirk (who knows maybe even his height and his voice)! I think the ONLY way we as readers can be sure that Hisashi and Afo are indeed not the same person, is if Hisashi shows up at home, while Afo IS STILL in prison! If Hisashi shows up AFTER the prison break, then there is still a big chance that he his Afo, no matter what he looks like!
Just think about the drama it will cause if Izuku beginns to form a father-son bond with his dad, they spend time and do father-son stuff together, Hisashi becomes an emotional support for Izuku etc. and then all of a sudden all of this will collapse in the very moment Izuku will find out the truth! Just think about the drama, the pain and the conflict! Pretty much what Luke went through, when he found out that the father he never knew, but always loved and worshiped from the bottom of his heart, the father he was told from others was a Jedi, a hero and a good person, is in fact the second most evil and hated guy in the whole fucking galaxy! Just think about what kind of character arc and developmet that could mean for Izuku in the future!
If Izuku instead recognizes his father as Afo from the get go, then in my option there won’t be much development and drama in the future story. Izuku never knew his father, never thinks of him in a loving way, doesn’t miss him and he also doesn’t show the desire to know him in the first place (unlike Luke, who wanted to know as much as possible about Anakin). If Izuku finds out the truth I’m sure at first he will be shocked and maybe even has some kind of an existence crisis, but shortly after he will be like: “You know… the bastard was never there for me anyway! He is a villain and an asshole, so…. why should I NOT want to punch him into a pulp? Yeah, let’s do this!!! All Might is a much better dad anyway!!!”
But if Izuku sees and feels that his father loves him (and Inko) and is an good father and husband, he will be most likely hunted by his conflicted feelings in the future and that is way more interesting in my honest option!
What do you think AFO looks like? I've seen you describe him as dark haired in one pic, but in Anyone (probably my favorite BNHA fanfic) he has white hair. Does it change to suit storylines? Or has it just evolved over time?
It has evolved over time.
The first picture we have of All for One is when All Might talks about him and we have this.
Tumblr media
Then, in the manga, we saw several times that All for One’s hair are light colored and we had the confirmation that his hair is white with the anime.
Tumblr media
Horikoshi doesn’t seem to have a fixed design for All for One, so I picture him as looking like the first image with white hair. It’s possible that he can change his face with a quirk.
