Hey shutters, can you explain this pinch out mode thing that came out a couple days ago? I'm pretty new and I kinda don't get what I'm supposed to be doing
Alright so POO (lol) is a challenge game mode where you pick nodes from a challenge tree to unlock rewards.
So let's say you have this screen
Tumblr media
On the right of the page is a reward to unlock a skin for Justice Knight. On the left are challenge nodes. Clicking on them adds an additional modifier (like extra enemy ATK or health) to the POO (lol) stage. Here's what selecting some challenges looks like.
Tumblr media
At the very bottom, you'll see a number 80. This is the difficulty number of the current challenge.
If you want to unlock Justice Knight's skin, you'll have to beat all the challenges connected to it.
What if your team isn't strong enough to take on 4 challenge branches at once? Do you have to take them all on at the same time? No!
Tumblr media
For example, here is a reward to get Friston-3, the new Defender robot. As you can see, I've done 2/4 of the challenge branches connected to him because I'm too lazy to do anything actually hard I haven't had much time to play the event. Therefore to make it easier, I just played one branch of challenges at a time and am now 2/4 done from unlocking Friston-3.
"Shutters what if I can't even beat those challenges before the event ends? Am I barred from unlocking Friston?"
Not at all. I got curious so I tried recruiting with a Defender and Robot tag set to 3 hours (for 1 star operators) and guess who showed up?
Tumblr media
Yeah I got him before I even played the event to unlock him lol.
As POO (lol) goes by, more and more new nodes unlock that feature new challenges, and new rewards hiding behind them.
This event is meant for you to set your own challenges, so don't get discouraged if you're not doing 650 points in one go like you might see people on Youtube doing, that's for people who are at endgame strength. If you're new, just play around with the various branches and see what you can handle.

Legendary Gauntlet Teams - Terrakion
A new challenger has entered the Gauntlet meta.  Terrakion has arrived! This is a modern stage, and much like with Champion Stadium, modern means way harder, right?
(Note: this battle has not been released yet, but I’m putting it out in advance of the event to talk about prior to dropping in case anyone’s having trouble going in.  This will be updated once the Legendary Arena is officially available.  If anyone is looking for raw data, here’s the spreadsheet keeping track.)
General Overview Terrakion comes in with fairly average stats.  A good comparison is its offenses are around Regirock.  There are others, but I bring up Regirock because much like Regirock, Terrakion has high BP moves.  Stone Edge, Close Combat, Focus Blast, Sacred Sword, and plenty of AoE with Rock Slide, Bulldoze, Earthquake, and Swift among them.
What sets Terrakion apart is four passives: Sharpened Body 2, Brawn Sync 2, Sharpened Mind 2, and Brain Sync 2.  To parse these four down: sync and move damage +20% while Atk/Sp Atk is raised.  Two additional passives, Perfect Debut Strength 2 and Perfect Debut Smarts 1, will raise Atk/Sp Atk by 2/1 stage at the outset of the battle.  Pinch Hitter 2 and Dangerous Mind 2 will also give +2 when it hits half health each bar, and it knows Swords Dance (Bar 1) and Calm Mind (Bar 2).  Note that these passives activate if there is any level of buff, so you need to be constantly wiping the offense boosts from Terrakion to mitigate them.
Its main gimmick as a Gauntlet Stage is Clear Advantage 2/4/8.  This is a 20/40/80% damage reduction when there is no weather, terrain, or zone effect in play.  This thing is Lisia's worst nightmare.  This parameter creates a hard ceiling for Gauntlet streaks, as you cannot get past 80% damage reduction.  Because it's the final phase with the most reduction, you're left with a slower start, or require MPR, which is almost always a 3/5 skill.  Combining these two gimmicks into one, you have a recipe for nightmarish teambuilding, with two distinct conditions to check off.  It's like Uxie, but arguably worse.
But there is good news.  Terrakion is Psychic weak, meaning there are many, many damage dealers who can throw down effectively with it.  In addition, Terrakion does not have Resilience as a listed passive, and has Lessen 8 for Sleep and Flinch.  Meaning it can be flinch/sleep locked.  This is a particularly effective backup strategy when offense debuffing isn't an option.  It can't hurt you if it can't move.
Useful Units and Combos Weather, Terrain, and Zone setters are essential.  Anni May is the queen of this fight, with P!Marnie, SS Wally, and Anni Skyla also having field effects and offense debuffs in one.  Any that come with a flinch rate or sleep rate, like Winona, Acerola, or SS Cyrus, are worth their weight in gold.
Particularly useful options include units who can set these effects on sync or entry repeatedly, to avoid MPR concerns.  Aura Cynthia, Lyra, Silver, and Palentine's Bea are good choices.  Notably, the Eevee Day Protags also always set field effects, and can debuff an offensive stat (Lyra and Kris need 3/5).
Sleep and Flinch bots are your best friends.
Offense debuffers like Ghetsis and C!Iris are helpful to mitigate multipliers. Special note to Janine, Tech Nidoqueen, and 5/5 SS Leaf, who can debuff a ton on a Poisoned foe.  If necessary, Haze/Snatch users like Brycen and Grimsley are effective options as well.
Due to the ceiling of this fight being determined by your field effects, Terrakion is a good consideration for throwing your Piercing Blows units like N and Victor at.
Sturdy, healing tanks are ideal choices for frontliners, due to Terrakion's high offense and AoE Sure Crits that bypass defense.  Due to many moves being special, mixed bulk from the likes of BP Morty is especially valuable.  Special note is made for Dawn, who takes physical hits well and can debuff Terrakion's attack per hit landed, mitigating its more dangerous offensive stat.
Gauntlet Interactions The big problems are Moltres and Latias.  Moltres/Terrakion is the worst combination, because of the overlap in weather.  While you can set Sun users to Terrakion and all others to Moltres, longer streaks will be especially difficult in this fight due to the limited nature of what's available.  Latias' requirement for debuffs, particularly toward attack debuffs to avoid a +4 sure crit Earthquake taking out your striker in Bar 3, puts it in direct competition with Terrakion's offensive pressure.
Of lesser note, Terraion's other solutions being flinch and sleep puts it in competition with Tapu Bulu, Azelf, Entei, and Regirock (and Latias again). Regirock requires flinch, and if you don't have it, you don't win.  Entei is a less extreme example of the same.  Azelf is so powerful on sync that sleep has been a requirement for a lot of solutions, which makes allocating the few sleep users difficult.  Tapu Bulu is also sleep weak, but is much easier to handle.
The least painful partners are Cobalion, Uxie, and Tornadus.  All three are checked by status, which is something Terrakion doesn't care about.  Flinch users can safely be applied to Terrakion over Uxie, due to Uxie gaining fast immunity.  Latios, having no particular gimmick, is also pretty free.
If Cresselia ever shows, it's taking all the Haze/Snatch users and Piercing Blows users.
Teambuilding Team 1: Winona, Cyrus, Drake Absolute confidence in this.  Winona can flinch lock and supply Rain for Cyrus' Hydro Pump set.  Drake gives Team Sharp Entry to boost Cyrus' crit rate to guarantee a crit on Spatial Rend, capping for the pivot to Hydro Pump next turn. Winona should be gridded to get an extra Rain on sync, given that Cyrus really won't be needing sync.
Team 2: Acerola, Lodge Morty/Hop, Naomi/Grant Acerola has Sandstorm with MPR and Aggravation Astonish all at 1/5.  She's an excellent answer to this fight.  Naomi is an ideal partner for damage, although if you need to, I guess you can try Grant as a sync nuke.  Hop needs to take over for Grant, while Lodge Morty is a great possibility for Naomi.  The AoE sure hit/crits may make this a bad partnership, but remains to be seen.  Morty is notable because, as far as I'm seeing, Terrakion doesn't boost accuracy, and has some fairly inaccurate moves. Evasion might matter.  But also, every single Gauntlet stage has accuracy boosts even if they don’t use inaccurate moves, so I feel like this is an oversight.
Team 3: Candice, BP Clemont, Ghetsis If your aim isn't to block attacks, this is a solid option.  Candice sets Hail and gets proper MPR, with a tremendous sure-crit sync nuke.   Ghetsis has good DPS, but can also debuff offenses to minimize damage.   With BP Clemont's defense buffs, the team is in prime survival mode.   Additionally, Screech powers up Candice's sync nuke, and accuracy buffs solve Ghetsis' issues.
Team 4: Agatha, Lodge Dawn/Hitmonchan, Silver Silver is able to maintain pressure with Solarize, keeping Terrakion's passives inactive.  However, it likely won't stay for sync, so you're reliant on DPS. Overheat is better than Sacred Fire, so grid for that if possible.  However.  Silver needs Agatha.  His DPS is not great, and he's not particularly bulky.  If going for Overheat, Lodge Dawn is a great solution, providing Team Sharp Entry so Silver can buff without Sun, and special attack/speed buffs he craves.  If sticking purely to physical for the sync, an eggmon like Hitmonchan can suffice with good sleep chaining.
Team 5: Cynthia (5/5), Support Primeape, SS Brock/Grant Cynthia's 5/5 grid hard counters this guy's gimmicks, thanks to permanent Sandstorm.  Support Primeape eases Cynthia's setup requirements with +2 crit, Atk, and Spd.  SS Brock or Grant can supply a flinch rate.  With a 3-bar move and speed buffs, Cynthia's likely generating gauge just fine, and only wants a bit of stalling to make Primeape work.
Team 6: Maxie, Lyra, Thorton Maxie is frail, and needs flinch support, but the beauty of him is that Lyra exists. Permanent Sun with +2 to both offenses and speed means Lyra gives him everything he wants for this fight.  Having done this with other Gauntlets, it does, in fact, wreck shop.
Team 7: Archie, Roxanne/Liza, Tech Gyarados Archie can do similar, albeit with slightly worse off supports.  Liza and Roxanne boost his Hoenn Spirit effect, but Roxanne is weak to Fighting, so good luck.  Liza also doesn't take hits well.  Nor does Archie.  So, another flincher in Tech Gyarados, who gets a 60% chance to flinch, and can set Rain.  Roxanne may actually be better for gauge, as Liza...can't help gauge and neither can Gyarados.  They're gonna be slow.
Team 8: Eevee Kris, BP Morty, Hau Eevee Day Protags are able to handle this fight well.  I'm starting with Kris, because the crit support makes her a solid choice for Hau, who appreciates permanent terrain for Discharge, and needs the crit.  BP Morty is brought up for bulk, but also because Potion is really nice.   Also he can flinch.  BP Morty's really good on this fight.
Team 9: Anni May, NY!Sabrina/MU Mesprit, Tech Persian/Mina Anni May is a brutally strong pick against this fight, thanks to Psychic Terrain, special attack debuffs, and supereffective matchup.  Tech Persian is chosen as a partner to debuff attack.  I avoided Mina for gauge issue reasons.  NY!Sabrina is a solid support, giving May the special attack she otherwise doesn't want to self-buff.  Though another option is MU Mesprit, whose trainer move also buffs speed for Mina.
Team 10: Janine, Sabrina, Bianca This is a generalized example, but Janine's debuffing on Poison handles debuffing for a partner that sets a field effect.  Bianca's Psychic Terrain is notable because she applies Gradual Healing, which is nice for healing off AoE attacks.  Sabrina offers Bianca the needed stat boosting, and has pop heals and Reflect for survival.  Sabrina may be too frail to handle hits even with debuffs, but hypothetically...
Final Thoughts Terrakion feels like a particularly powerful foe, but one that is at least manageable.  The main issue is the requirement for a field effect, and the fact that its offense buffing gets out of control.  You know how Latias' +4 Sure Crit Earthquake can KO a lot of strikers?  Yeah, Terrakion seems to do the same, but could easily have reached +6 if you're not debuffing.  It's even stronger than that. As a result, its offenses need to be put in check, and the tools to accomplish both tasks are quite rare.
But this also feels like a very controlled match.  So long as the tools you brought are reasonable, they should win.  There's nothing stupid, like Tornadus' Self-Cleanse ruining a sync, or Latias' evasion meaning one unlucky miss just snowballs into catastrophe, or missing a flinch against Regirock meaning Crit Shield is up and your run just tanked.  Terrakion feels much more fair, in that sense.  And I think that, between that fact and the fact its dual-gimmick approach is similar to Uxie, we're definitely going to see this one in Gauntlet.  It's not a matter of if.  It's when.

His hand glided past your waist; eyes fixated on the ascending lit numbers that increased by the second. Your body ached for more feeling, to have his hands clasp around you forever, his mouth beginning to litter past your shoulder right onto your skin. It was supposed to just be dinner, that was the plan for this week’s date night but ever since you had come out of your shared bedroom, Keigo couldn’t keep his hands away from you.
The way your hips looked into the dress, or the way it fit you perfectly, as if it was made to make you look even more beautiful. He had found himself paying in an instant before grabbing your hand, giving it a soft kiss on the back of your hand and dragging you away. You had been led outside, taken to the nearest hotel that Keigo knew would be perfect for the two of you and here you were.
In the elevator with a very horny Keigo ready to have his way with you, his hands slipped against your body once more, originally placing his hand on the small of your back. He couldn’t resist but keep you pushed against his ever-growing cock. “Look what you’ve done baby, made me all hard.”
He nibbled at your shoulder, one of his feathers had moved under your dress gliding against your thigh. A shiver running down your spine at the action, it felt intoxicating as his hands and feather touched your body. He looked up at the elevator numbers, the way it became slower and slower the higher you got, till the 45th floor was in his grasp.
Taking your hand the doors opened as he swiftly walked out, instantly finding the room number and letting you in. Locking the door as he entered, the suite looked perfect for lovers, with a big king-sized bed with fresh sheets and the smell of vanilla filling the room. A bottle of champaign and a rose sat on the marble table as the bathroom looked fully equipped for two lovers to prance into.
Keigo watched as you looked around, already forgetting why you were in the room in the first place, his eyes remained on your body. How pretty you looked as you finally looked up at him, with those big doe eyes that would take all of him in an instant. He knew you, knew how you acted and how with one look he could have you on your knees. “Pretty.” He murmured beginning to walk towards your form, the way you seemed to get smaller and smaller at each step.
You were more than pretty to Keigo you were perfect, his prefect little girl and all he could think about as he licked his lips was having you begging for his cock to fuck into you. “Keigo…”
Trailing off as soon as his hands reached to cup your face he muttered, “let me have you for the night, let me”
“I want you…” You breathed out heavily, but at the sign of the agreement, he got to work. His feathers swiftly moving your dress upwards as he kissed you.
Tongue gliding inside as he kept a firm grip on your now uncovered hips, the straps having been pulled by the feathers as you stepped out of the dress. Keigo knew why he picked this hotel, the big windows that cascaded past one wall. You could see the whole city or better, yet the city could see the whole of you.
You expected him to take you to the bed, put you down and fuck you senseless. But he had other ideas, his hands moving to grabbing your throat as he pushed you towards the glass windows. “Look…” he moved your face with his fingers forcing you to look out into the dark sky, “that’s our audience baby girl.”
Your heart fluttered as he let go of you, his feather keeping your wrists pinned behind your back as you looked to him. The way you still felt pressed against the window even though he wasn’t even touching you, the sultry look he gave as he unbuttoned each button. You admired the way he looked tonight, having worn a black shirt with silver dangling earrings had always turned you on. But seeing him now, about to expose the both of you against a window was what got you really going.
“Excited are we?” He chuckled as his shirt fell to the floor, his trousers feeling tighter and tighter as walked towards you. Eyes focused on the way your clit filled with slick, his fingers moved between your thighs touching at it as he brought it to his mouth.
You gave a moan at the sensation, the missing of his fingers but most of all how his mouth sucked his fingers. “Taste good baby.” You didn’t know what you were expecting but as soon as his belt came off and trousers fell, you watched how hard he had gotten from the mere look of you tonight. His hands moved to your thighs as you shivered under his touch waiting to see his next move. “Tell me you want me again.”
“I…I want you…please Keigo…gi…agh…” Before you could even finish speaking Keigo’s arm had wrapped under your thighs pushing your back against the wall as he held you up with his arms. He stayed on his knees as your ankles rested against his back, you couldn’t help but feel turned on by his sheer strength over carrying you like this, but even more so how his mouth had attached right into your cunt.
His tongue gilded against your clit and he tasted your slick as your moans filled the hotel room as your hands moved to his locks of hair. You could barely hear him speak as he sucked and nibbled at your cunt, intoxicated by the sheer power and lust he had for eating you out. His tongue moved deeper and deeper inside of your cunt as you could feel your legs tense at his actions. “Fu…fuck Kei…please,” you tugged at his hair wanting to feel his tongue go further in. His feathers had moved towards your back, so the cool window didn’t hurt as much against your back but even then it only turned you on more.
His muttering was inaudible, but as he kept moving deeper and deeper, his hands became harsher and harsher against your skin. “Agh…Kei…” your moans could probably be heard through the thin walls as your other hand to your face, feeling flushed as you could barely keep your mouth closed at Keigo’s movements.
His groan made you weak, already feeling the coil in your stomach ready to burst and as he gripped your under thigh ever harsher, leaving nail marks in his way. “Keigo…Kei…I’m gonna…cum…” you could barely speak biting into your hand as you felt your cum gush out right into Keigo’s mouth. He seemed to happily accept his favourite offering. Finally looking up at you, the way your back remained pushed against the window, your hand with spit on it and the way cum still seemed to leak out of you.
“My pretty girl…” He moved his hands to let your feet touch the ground before standing up to tower against you. “Gonna be my good girl, gonna listen to me baby?”
“Ye…yes…” You could barely speak from your first orgasm, but you already knew what Keigo was planning as his hands moved to your hips pushing your chest against the window.
He scoffed as you both stared out of the window, taking his boxers off as one hand kept a hold of you. The flashing lights of other high buildings in view, the bridges with bright yellows and reds from cars zooming past. “You’re going to show the whole world who you belong to.”
It wasn’t a question instead as he gripped your sides pushing you further, his cock used your cum to slam itself into you. “Keigo,” your mouth had become agape in a matter of seconds as you moaned his name, his eyes flashing as he began thrusting into you.
You wanted to see him, wanted to face your love and as you tried. His hand moved from your side to your jaw. “Look outside…you want to be good? Let them see…let them see your stupid cunt,” your moans remained as his hand made you focus outside, how his own mouth had moved to your shoulder as he left kisses. His other hand moved to play with your clit as you both filled the room with groans and moans.
You could see the way the stars played in the sky, the way each one connected to another, meeting down to the river. How the cars flashed passed going onto the bridge in a matter of seconds or how if you could see into other businesses that towered the streets of Japan then they could definitely see how you were getting fucked. “Fa…faster Keigo…” he complied as he kissed your neck, his fingers becoming lazy on your jaw as you leaned your neck on his shoulder.
You were completely complying to your love, letting him have you. Keigo’s fingers continued to play and pinch at your clit as your whole body went into overdrive. You couldn’t help but look to the side and see how Keigo looked, the way his hair had become damp, his other hand on your bare chest and he flicked his fingers between your nipples. But most of all how Keigo’s eyes were barely open as if he felt on a high, his stifled moans through your ear not helping how wet you had become.
He thrusts became incoherent, as he wanted to cum right in your cunt but had to wait for you to cum first. Your pleasure would always mean more to him than anything else, so as he continued to thrust into you, groaning into your ear unaware at how even if the sky looked like a sight for sore eyes. The way he looked at you was so much more, as if you had seen the entire universe and what it was worth in the man that held you.
You could feel the coil in your stomach as his thrusts continued to be sporadic it was almost hard to tell if Keigo was in any right mind. He had become intoxicated by the way your cunt kept him firm inside of you, how each thrust led to even more lust.
But as you continued to look up at him, realising just how much adoration you had for him, your incoherent moans and his continued grip on you as he went faster and deeper lead to cum gushing out of you once more.
“I…I love you Keigo…” he hadn’t expected it but as you moaned out his name the feeling of your second orgasm coming through. Cum filled your cunt as Keigo’s thick cock stuffed it right back into you, not letting any drip down your thighs.
He spoke as he thrusted into you until he cummed right in your pretty little cunt, “I love you too.” You both stayed panting as Keigo took himself out of you, the way you remained in his arms as cum leaked down your leg.
He kissed your forehead before bringing you up into his arms, holding onto you as he took you towards the bathroom. And as he placed you into the tub, the mess of your body, with the scratches and marks littered across it all Keigo could think about was just how lucky he truly was.

"Good luck on your date!”
Ava grits her teeth so hard her jaw clicks. She can hear the grin in Farah’s voice even through the walls. Part of her suspects that Farah very much meant for her to overhear her parting words to Ellana.
A suspicion that proves to be correct when Farah returns to the living room, flopping down on her favoured armchair with a sigh. How she was comfortable sprawled in such a way was beyond Ava. But Ava supposed Farah’s eccentricity was part of her charm, as exasperating as she was at times.
“Does Lana really have a date?” Morgan huffs sceptically from her perch in the corner.
“Yep!” Farah grins excitedly.
“With another actual human?” The crackle of Morgan’s cigarette hisses as she takes a long draw, the redness of the simmering flame glowing in the darkness.
The smell of the smoke curling in the air stings her nostrils, and she grunts as it burns at her sensitive sense of smell.
Farah grins in her direction briefly and Ava clenches her fist in irritation. She knows Farah’s opinions about her and Ellana. She told her often enough.
“A pretty one too. Tina set her up.”
“Bobblehead actually is good for something,” Morgan snorts, exhaling a steady stream of acidic smoke through her nose. “Maybe she’ll finally get some action and stop being so tightly wound.”
Ava doesn’t stay to listen, slamming the door behind her as she storms off down the halls to find a quieter place in the depths of the warehouse.

Nobody Expects the Smutquisition
Now that we can finally reveal ourselves I'm excited to share the things I wrote for @dasmutquisition First up some Josephine/Leliana for @hobo-apostate
Tumblr media
Rating: Explicit
Words: 2663
Tags: porn with feelings, vaginal fingering, tribadism, face-sitting, oral sex, cunnilingus, morning sex, morning after, confession.
Summary: Josephine wakes with Leliana beside her in her bed, and in the quiet light of the early morning confessions are made.
------------------------------------ There was a tenderness in Leliana that she had always felt, but never seen.
But even underneath her tenderness, there was steel. A strength forged over the years that she wore like armour.
She supposed she was lucky to consider her a confidant. A friend even.
Luckier still to wake with her beside her in her bed, red hair rumpled and face relaxed in sleep. She was beautiful at rest, the lines on her face relaxed and the pinched expression that was always there gone.
Leliana had come to her the night before as she sat working quietly at her desk, a distraction bearing red wine and a mischievous grin. They had spent the night talking about their pasts, Leliana sharing more with her than Josephine thinks she has with anyone for a very long time. Thoughts of the past lead to hopes for the future, Leliana’s inauguration for Divine fast approaching. Read on Ao3
------------------------------------ And secondly @a-shakespearean-in-paris requested this pairing which I find quite interesting with a prompt I couldn't resist because if there's one thing I love writing its Cassandra, and one thing I love writing even more than that is Cassandra happy in bed with a caring partner.

Summary: Cassandra finds the ruggedly handsome Rylen distracting in more ways than one, but what happens when their sparring takes an unexpected turn one afternoon?
------------------------------------
The first time she saw him it was at Griffon Wing Keep. The unrelenting desert sun gives him a golden hue, and his rugged good looks snare her attention in ways that she hasn’t felt in a long time.He was chosen by Cullen so she had no doubts about his ability. But she didn’t have time for something as frivolous as attraction. Or the feelings that had decided to come with it.
If there was one thing Cassandra was good at it was clearing her mind from distractions.
She manages. Or she thinks she does. Until he returns to Skyhold, a warm and welcome face within the cold stone walls.
And then there's no denying the fluttering in her chest whenever she hears him speak. The thick brogue, deep and rumbling, did things for she never expected and she found herself seeking out the places he frequented - usually the training yards - just to hear him speak. A fact that she would never admit. Read on Ao3

Some hospitals even have greenhouse rooms designed specifically to best grow the mushrooms so a supply is always on hand. These mushrooms can also be turned into soup making for easier storage and quick healing, and if the body hasn’t been completely destroyed, the mushroom’s energy will be able to revive the corpse, no matter what state it is in. The rumor that collecting 100 coins magically gives one a 1-Up has been confirmed to be false.
SUPER MUSHROOM
Super Mushrooms, commonly referred to as simple Mushrooms, are the staple crop of the Mushroom Kingdom and, by virtue of that, one of the most common power ups in existence. Due to it's easy to cultivate nature, it can be widely grown throughout all biomes. Many well-known dishes involve a Super Mushroom in the recipe, and for good reason, as not only do they taste excellent, but the mushrooms are very healthy and even have mild healing properties. There are also varieties with more potent recovery properties--Blue “Super” Shrooms and Green “Ultra” Shrooms. Shroom Shakes, canned soups made especially to be drunk on the go, offer a quick way to achieve the healing benefits of these varieties. Super Mushrooms also have an interesting effect similar to steroids, in a small enough concentration that most wouldn’t ever notice it. In a pinch, the effect can increase a person’s strength and even cause temporary growth. This "strength and growth" effect can also be extracted for use in agriculture as fertilizer, increasing the growth speed of plants up to 300%.
MEGA MUSHROOM
Mega Mushrooms were first discovered in Giant Land, most abundantly in the province of TIny Huge Island. It is commonly theorized, though not yet confirmed, that the Mega Mushroom is an evolved form of the Super Mushroom created by the same phenomena affecting the rest of Giant Land’s natural landscape and inhabitants. These mushrooms are generally used as fertilizer, not only providing a moderate increase in growth speed, but also nearly doubles the size of the crops. The caveat to this is that in return for their large power, they require large amounts of care and nutrients, and can take as long as 5 years to reach maturity unaided.
BEE MUSHROOM
The bee mushroom was first discovered by Well known mushroom kingdom hero "super mario" where during his first space adventure,it was discovered in honey hive galaxy, it was used by mario to befriend the bee queen from the bee kingdom, the bee mushroom has a sweet honey taste and is used in culinary items mostly candy, sweets and drinks, it also makes people holding a bee mushroom 50% more charismatic towards bees making it perfect for diplomacy missions with the bee kingdom
BIG MUSHROOM
Many people confuse the mega mushroom with the big mushroom, while both have high concentrations of bignium the mega mushroom has twice the amount of bignium that the big mushroom has, if all the bignium was extracted from a mega mushroom and injected at once it would increase the size of the user by 500% the og, the big mushroom increases by 250%, the big mushroom is used as fertilizer and as a food source( generally with all the bignium extracted to turn into fertilizer) and uses less resources to cultivate than a mega mushroom
BOO MUSHROOM
The boo mushroom is found in haunted places, it used as "food" for boos and ghosts, but when used by a living being it will temporarily turn them into a boo, it last for atleast 15 minutes and the longest one taking a whole week to run out, after the effect is done they will turn back to normal, it is generally used to negotiate with ghosts and boos,it was once used to infiltrate king boo's castle, it was reported by Mario that the boo mushroom was found in other planets as well
BLORP MUSHROOM
Blorp mushroom is an genetically modified mushroom made by fawful in 2009 and is the cause of the blorp virus pandemic that lasted from 2009 to 2010,this mushroom is purple and has high amounts of an pownon gas like substance wich makes users round making them useless, this disease unlike most power ups with similar effects this mutation was permanent luckily an antidote was made, it took some time for scientists to discover the source and in its peak 3% of mushroom people were affected
CURSED MUSHROOM
The cursed mushroom is a variation of the well known poison mushroom, unlike the poisom mushroom this one takes a week to affect the user and it makes the user deadly sick, it is usually found in haunted places but it can be grown in any soil,it can be used to make anti poison and some recipes use the stem of the cursed mushroom for extra flavour but its realy hard to get the poison part off the stem making it expansive,it is usually contained in a orb because it can poison people by being touched
GOLD MUSHROOM
The golden mushroom is a modified super mushroom covered in gold and it was a high standard ingredient used in the fanciest and most expensive of dishes, it used to be sold at 600 coins but do to the fairly recent midas finger crash it is now sold for 100 gold because of the over abundance of gold in the mushroom kingdom,it can be made into a golden shake wich usually us sold for 160 coins and it is delicious
INVINCIBILITY MUSHROOM
The invincibility mushroom is a super mushroom injected with super star and rainbow extract, it is fairly common sinse it's a plant meaning cultivating these items,it is used in dishes like the invincibility steak and the invincible salad,it requires moondust soil to cultivate it correctly but it can be grown in normal soil
LIFE MUSHROOM
Life mushroom is one of many items discovered by mario mario the || also known as just mario during his space expedition, the life mushroom is very similar to its earthling counterpart the super mushroom, it is very healthy and when consumed makes the user more resilient and some say it increases your lifespan but hasn't been proven yet, it is used in many dishes and has an out of this world taste, it can be grown in most soils but its preferred soil is moon soil,it is generally sold for 30 coins or 90 star bits,it unlike its earthling counterpart doesn't have any traces of bignium meaning it's not that great for increasing growth speed of plants but it does makes plant affected with life mushroom fertilizer 200% healthier than normal
METAL MUSHROOM
the metal mushroom is similar to the metal suit or metal cap like some people call it,the metal mushroom is a plant version of said suit,it is way cheaper to make than the metal cap do to the fact it can be cultivated,it requires rocky soil (generally mountains and underground) in order to cultivate it, if consumed the user will become metal solid for 2 minutes giving them the ability to break most objects and become heavy to swim in the bottom of lakes, it is generally melted in order to get metals need for the construction of many things
MINI MUSHROOM
The mini mushroom is the smallest of all mushrooms, it is known for containing concentrated amounts of minium wich causes (when in its purest form) the user to shrink down to 20% of their original size or 80% smaller than normal, when in this mini state the user gets the ability to walk on water and walk fast and other things from being small, with all minium removed it is used in various culinary dishes and gives a sweet flavor and many use it on top of cakes as edible decorations
MYSTERY MUSHROOM
The mystery mushroom is an interesting super mushroom variety wich has a interrogation mark in the front, it has an interesting effect on the user where when consumed it will give the user the power to morth/transform into any other living being as long it exists and has been observed by the user, it however does not provide any abilities of the copied creature making not that perfect for the intended infiltration purposes, it is currently being used to try and make the super hammer suit and boomerang flower
P-ACORN (POWER ACORN)
Some may be confused why the acorns are in the mushroom section? Well it looks like a mushroom and it has a soft stem like a mushroom, it's just an acorn because it grows on trees Back to the explanation, the p-acorn is a rare sub species of the super acorn wich while retaining the taste and culinary purposes it also has an special ability, while the normal super acorn gives the user abilities similar to a flying squirrel, this one also gives the flying ability similar to a tanuki leaf, of course this only last for 30 minutes but once the affect is done it will get a permanent enhancement to the ability of using a flying squirrel suit
PROPELLER MUSHROOM
The propeller mushroom is a mushroom with a propeller on top, it has a super mushroom flavor but the propeller tastes like a tanuki leaf, when in its purest form it makes an propeller helmet like shell to grow on the user's head wich works giving the user the ability to fly upwards,it can only be cultivated in floating islands in high altitudes, instead of growing on top of the place where it was planted the proppeller grows under the floating islands where they're planted making harvest harder
POISON MUSHROOM
The poison mushroom is a species of mushroom known for being super deadly, it generally is naturally found in toxic forests,it makes anyone who eats it gets instantly sick and 20% of people who injest the poison dies, it can be non deadly as many professional cooks use poison mushroom for recipes and people say its delicious but we dont recommend to eat it without professional skills
ROCK MUSHROOM
The rock mushroom is one of many items discovered in the second intergalactic mission by mushroom kingdom hero mario,it has a rock like stooltop and it does taste like stone, but the stem tastes great and is used in many recipes like miners soup and rolling Crocs, in its purest form it gives the user an rocky exoskeleton making them super resliant and strong, it like the metal mushroom requires rocky soil and is generally grown on caves
REVERSE MUSHROOM
The reverse mushroom is…..interesting, in its purest form gives the user the "ability" to walk backwards perfectly, but only backwards, its grown in islands and it grows underground like carrots, it was found in opposite islands where everything is backwards upside down and reverse, it tastes okey
SUBCON MUSHROOM (DREAM SHROOM)
An interesting phenomenon is the "materialized dream" phenomenon where small things from dreams appear on the real world, the subcon mushroom is a super mushroom like thing known for being the most common materialized mushroom, unlike the super mushroom it doesn't have seeds meaning real life cultivation impossible, it has a dreamy flavour and is very expensive going for 200 up to 750 coins,
SPRING MUSHROOM
The spring mushroom is another mushroom found in the second mushroom kingdom intergalactic exploration, in its purest form it turns whoever consumes it have their body turned into a spring like shape resulting in high jumps and very bouncy behavior, according to mario mario || it is very hard and anoying to control, it requires minerals hard to find in our planet making it "rare" but it is possible to find it in most metal rich planets as the mineral that it needs seems to be a metal/ore
SUPER MEGA MUSHROOM
The super mega mushroom is a modified version of the mega mushroom wich doubles the original effects and taste,as a fertilizer it nows increases the size of crops by 600% and increases growth speed by 400%, on living beings increases size by 10 times the original, when the bignium is removed for non power consumption the taste is recorded to be better in every way than the mega mushroom, unfortunately it takes away more to cultivate it, it can take 10 years with no help and even with the best fertilizer it takes around 2 years to get ready, it needs loads of supplies just for 1 unit
SUPER MINI MUSHROOM
The super mini mushroom is the polar opposite to the super mega mushroom, the mini mushroom not only shrinks the size of the user by 85% it also gives the user the ability to grab things over 100 times heavier than their normal size, it last for around 20 minutes, one seed can grow 10 mini mushrooms, not super mini just mini,it requires little to no care to become ready for harvest
SUPER ACORN
The super acorn is an acorn like mushroom, when in its purest form bestows the user flying squirrel abilities, it tastes like acorns and nuts, many products like cereal and cereal bars use the super acorn for flavor and health value and the stem is used in shakes, it's the only mushroom that grows in trees, super acorn is very nutritious
VACUUM MUSHROOM
The vacuum mushroom is an genetically modified mushroom invented by fawful in 2009 , there was only one made wich was gifted by fawful to bowser wich resulted in not much info about this highly magical item, it gives the user in its purest form the ability to succ things like a vacuum cleaner like famous fictional character known as kirby, it also has traces of mini mushroom as everything succed will shrink several magnitudes, so small in fact they could fight viruses face to face
WEIRD MUSHROOM
The weird mushroom is a variation of the super mushroom, it is unlike any other mushroom as it has a slim and tall stem and a short stooltop, I'm its purest form makes the user realy skinny and tall, giving them the ability to jump super high, their voice also gets realy weird, the affect lasts a whole day, when without the weirdom the stem is generally fried and the stooltop is roasted and many say it's great,it generally appears as a result of super mushroom being planted in soil without the minerals necessary
ZOMBIE MUSHROOM
Zombie mushroom is a interesting tipe of mushroom as it is less of an object and more of an enemy,it is a result of a boo/ghost possessing a super mushroom and then unpossesing resulting in the mushroom getting haunted and it becomes "alive", it will try to kill any living being in its vicinity, it only is awake when its night time or is in a haunted area, it is not recommended to eat a zombie mushroom, specially if you're an toad,
Average special effect time:30 minutes
FLOWERS
FIRE FLOWER
Fire Flowers are among the most well-known of all power ups, and for good reason with their reliability in many fields and simplicity of use. Some alternative fuel sources even use the heat from these plants instead of the typical use of Celestial Energy (see sections on Power Stars and Power Moons for more information on this phenomenon) It can be turned into something similar to hot sauce for household use, and the flowers have many combat applications such as lighting fuses for demolition teams and infantry weaponry in place of flamethrowers or firearms. A form of pepper spray can also be created from the seeds. Fire Flowers are also used in cold biomes for not only lighting fires, but setting off symptoms of Hypothermia and Frostbite, and most if not all villages in the snowy realms grow a steady supply to support their daily life. In a pinch, the flowers also work as excellent lanterns.
ICE FLOWER
Ice Flowers are generally considered the polar opposite of Fire Flowers. They are generally used in culinary fields, helping run such machines as ice cream makers, freezers, and ice machines. A freezing spray made out of Ice Flower extract can be used to freeze small things quickly, and more potent versions of this spray are used often in skating rinks and ski resorts. The seeds and petals can be turned into a soup generally used in hot biomes like deserts or volcanic regions to cool off. Many desert villages have a stock of these flowers for that very reason, as well as to set off heatstroke. Unfortunately, unlike Fire Flowers (which provide the natural heat they need to grow and flourish no matter the location), it is often difficult to grow Ice Flowers in warmer environments due to the lack of water supply, which they usually can gain by filtering it from snow through their roots (though beaches have been found to support the cultivation of Ice Flowers quite effectively, most likely due to the wetness of the sand).
“GLACIAL” FLOWER (ICE FLOWER--ALIEN)
During the first intergalactic adventure of well-known Mushroom Kingdom hero “Super” Mario, he reported the discovery of a variety of Ice Flower very different from the well-known native species. This “alien” Ice Flower has a much lower recorded natural temperature and a similarly more potent effect than its more common brethren. Nicknamed a “Glacial” Flower by many researchers, it is so powerful that it doesn’t simply bestow power over ice to those who wield it--but instead, it transforms them into pure, living ice, cold enough to freeze the very ground where they walk. This ice is so cold it can not only freeze water at a mere touch, but even lava up to nigh the most extreme temperatures. The Glacial Flower is much harder to cultivate than the standard variety of Ice Flower, as while it is able to grow in much higher temperatures than the latter due to the extent of its natural radiation of cold, it requires minerals that have up to now only been observed in the depths of space. The few that are able to be grown in carefully monitored and supported artificial environments mainly find use in preventing damage from the eruption of major active volcanoes.
CLOUD FLOWERS
Originally discovered in Fluffy Bluff Galaxy, Cloud Flowers have become a staple in cloud-based locales. Before the discovery of this flower, cloud cities were mainly constructed with the aid of concentrated Pownon gas. However, in this capacity the gas was far too difficult to steadily maintain, leading to great damage as parts of the architecture and even foundation would often collapse. Since the discovery of the Cloud Flower, however, it was quickly found easy to cultivate, requiring merely, well...clouds. The clouds generated through use of these flowers are surprisingly strong, and this soon lead to much more stable cloud-based infrastructure being possible.Cloud Flowers are also often used in certain meals, especially those on the sweeter side, helping to yield a “heavenly” flavor.
COPY FLOWERS
The copy flower is……..interesting it was "discovered" by local hero mario and his brother luigi while exploring the temporal shenanigans the time machine created by e-gadd made, when the mario bros (present) where exploring the past where they stopped the alien invasion that happened many years ago, at the time the copy flower was already known but it was in risk of extinction wich it did go extinct but during the adventure a sample of the flower was brought back and the species was brought back, but let's get back to effects, the copy flower acts similar to the double cherry but this one is way WAY WAY more powerful making up to 92 copies wich is a lot compared to the 1 of the double cherry, it is used as fertilizer increasing crops by 50 to 92 times the normal crop, of course it's still fairly rare and uses resources wich as of yet is rare to come by
GOLD FLOWER
The gold flower is a now eligal plant originated in the mushroom kingdom, you might have heard that gold has become way less expensive recently, you see this flower gives the user to turn everything they touch into gold and lasts 1 minute, and while this flower was ilegalized and contained in less than a month after discovery the damage was already done and now there are loads of gold in the kingdom, wich while means average workers will be able to taste gold like items it's not that good for the economy, all gold flower specimens and seeds are in a high defense storage in one of the many metropolis in the mushroom kingdom
MIX FLOWER
The mix flower is a variant of the fire flower wich allows the user to charge the fireballs to make it more powerful but if more people with mix flowers come along they can charge together to make it even more powerful doe to that fact many military organizations have squads of mix flower user to work as a mortar tank of sorts, these groups are generally 4 to 15 people, it can be used in generators but arent as effective than the usual star but it is used in polar lands for heating an entire city
POWER FLOWER (POWNON FLOWER)
The Power Flower is a unique flower, with no discernible source known or recorded. Some say they are found in the sky, other say they are artificially made, some even point to space as the answer.  Whatever the source may be, Power Flowers are one of the only known natural sources of Pownon, releasing it as other plants do Oxygen. It is unknown how this happens. These high levels of Pownon can lead to a multitude of effects, and study of these effects and why this is possible is still underway.
SLOW FLOWER
The slow flower is a temporal plant caused by time machines wich when in the purest form makes a 50 ft radio have time slowed down by a lot, 10 minutes outside the radios is equal to 1 minute in the affected area, it isn't recommended to consume 10 at once,it is very rare as not many time machines exists and use a lot of energy but flipside has lots of slow flowers but its not known where they came from
SPEED FLOWER
Speed flower is a highly energetic flower wich when consumed mildly increase the user's speed, it is discovered in thr in between plane, it is used in sports for the interesting events made involving the speed, the seeds look like clock hands, many energy drinks use the flower for taste and energy, it is also used in infantry as the extra speed makes the troops be able to reach the enemy lines way faster
SUPER BALL FLOWER
The superball flower is an species of flower native to sarasaland,it in its purest form gives the user the ability to create very boucy metal balls, it is used to make metal for machines and many superball refinery are scattered throughout sarasaland wich is the number 1 in metal exportation to other kingdoms, users say that it tastes like coins, it like other metal/rock based species its usually grown underground

5e Skree, the Mechanical Shaman build (Awesomenauts)
Tumblr media
(Artwork from the Microsoft Store.)
Reject modernity; embrace indie.
Basically screw you my birthday is on the 28th (🥳) so I wanted to do a build for one of my favorite games of all time. And it was basically either Awesomenauts, an Atlas Reactor build (for a game that’s essentially dead btw check out Atlas Rogues it’s great and I love it), or like... an XCOM build? Unless I wanted to make a Killing Floor character build instead. (Also a possibility.)
Oh also: the game is free, so if you want a new MOBA to try out I highly recommend it. It may not be as popular as it was in its hayday and it may be dated, but the characters and gameplay are still top-notch.
As for why Skree? I had a few mains in Awesomenauts and Skree was my... second most played character. My most played was Chucho but believe it or not Chucho is simultaneously too easy and too difficult to make a build for. Like getting a turret and sticky bombs is easy (Artificer lol) but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get him to ride Ramona. So you get Skree because he’s easier to make. Also because I get to stick every spell with the word “wall” into this build which is fun.
GOALS
I ascend, inta' da 'eaven! - Awesomenauts isn’t your standard top-down MOBA, which means we’ll need to be able to hover for some advanced movement in a platform fighter!
Uhhh... Dat make a big mess - Skree’s a master of continuous damage, with a lightning wand that will bounce to nearby targets... oh and a giant sawblade.
Dey is after me lucky shrines! - Not a day goes by that you shouldn’t pray to your lord. So set down a massive wall to block your foes!
RACE
The great thing about Awesomenauts (as opposed to League) is that since everyone’s an alien I can choose just about any race I want within reason. The downside of this is that it makes choosing races really hard. There’s only one trait that’s well defined about Skree and it is this: he is small.
So how about we powergame like an asshole? Tasha’s has made Mountain Dwarf one of the strongest races in the game for a number of reasons! You can get a +2 in two ability scores of your choice: Charisma and Intelligence will both be key in this build, so increase both of those to start out. You also get Dwarven Combat Training but seeing as we’ll be using magic a lot more than weapons I opted to take Origin Proficiencies instead: this means you’ll get a ton of different tool proficiencies, on top of Mason’s Tools from Dwarven Tool Proficiency. I’m not going to tell you every tool to take (because my god you get 5 total) but I’d recommend Drums and Carpenter’s Tools as those are some of Skree’s upgrades in Awesomenauts.
Of course on top of all of that you have Dwarven Resilience for advantage against poisons and resistance to poison damage, and Stonecunning for expertise on History checks related to shrines! (Or other stonework.) And finally as a Mountain Dwarf you get Dwarven Armor Training, for Light and Medium armor proficiency!
ABILITY SCORES
15; INTELLIGENCE - Even if Skree doesn’t make it known he built all his tools and weapons out of the scrapped Starstorm station. Accidental genius of turning the entire station on is still genius.
14; DEXTERITY - Skree is known for flying around constantly in a game where you constantly have to move to dodge attacks. Also “something something Medium Armor” from our race.
13; CHARISMA - Weazel’s a good voice actor, and even if Skree is a little... stoned out of his mind he’s still got the lovable 80s cartoon personality that Awesomenauts is famous for.
12; WISDOM - You mostly work with machines and a lot of the Awesomenauts are machines, but you still need Wisdom to read that Book of Medicine or to convince a Skroggle to let you harvest their weedlings.
10; CONSTITUTION - Skree is hardly a tank, focusing on backline damage dealing with magic.
8; STRENGTH - See above. Even if you’re fighting with heavy metal it does all the fighting for you.
BACKGROUND
Religion is still religion, even if it’s not accepted universe-wide. The Acolyte background will let you do whatever crazy ritualistic shaman stuff you wish (within reason.) You get proficiency in Insight and Religion as well as two languages of your choice: there’s tons of languages in the universe so pick whichever ones you think will help you communicate with your allies!
Your feature Shelter of the Faithful will let you find others who believe in the god of the machines. (You should probably pick a god from your DM’s setting instead of just worshiping robots.) You and your party can receive service from others in your faith, and you can lead ceremonies in honor of the mechanical gods!

THE BUILD
LEVEL 1 - WIZARD 1
Starting off this build as a Wizard because if there’s one thing I am it’s inconsistent, so of course I’m starting the “easy fun build for my birthday” with one of my least favorite classes to build. But the main reason for the Wizard starting level is to get access to the Medicine skill thanks to your Book of Medicine, as well as the Arcana skill because you understand the spirit in the machines.
Regardless Wizards get access to spellcasting at level 1. You learn 3 cantrips and 6 spells from the Wizard list:
CANTRIPS
For a close-ranged zapping wand Shocking Grasp will let you taser your foes to keep them away.
Mage Hand will let you make sure that you aren’t losing any solar pickups.
If you need to hide in a bush Minor Illusion can make a bush to hide in. Consider it a tiny totem!
SPELLS
You fly around on a floating disk but unfortunately Tenser’s Floating Disk won’t let you do that. It will give you an easy way to carry either loot or your tools around, however.
To launch either a sawblade or some scrap at your foes Catapult will give you the option to do so!
For some damage overtime look no further than Tasha’s Caustic Brew to cover your foes in acidic Skroggle spit that will Gnaw away at them!
Knockback is a big thing in Awesomenauts; if you need some space then use Thunderwave!
People don’t really like blinds in ‘nauts but Color Spray is still useful if you’re in a pinch.
Silent Image will let you make a bigger illusion, such as a large totem that your enemies will hesitate to run past. It won’t be solid yet but it’s a good place to start with wall creation.
You also get Arcane Recovery, letting you recover spell slots equal to half your Wizard level. The exact details of how this works are detailed in the ability’s description so read that for more details.
LEVEL 2 - WIZARD 2
Second level Wizards can choose their Arcane Tradition and when in space gravity... is a harness. We’ll be going for the Graviturgy subclass from Wildemount to harness that harness! As a Graviturgy Wizard you can Adjust Density of objects (and creatures!) as long as they’re size Large or smaller. You can make an object either twice as heavy or half as heavy: when a creature is twice as heavy they move 10 feet slower and can’t jump as far but have advantage on Strength checks and saving throws, and the opposite is true if they’re light: 10 feet faster and greater jumps but they’ll have a tough time when it comes to Strength. Using this feature does require Concentration however, and will only last for a minute if you manage to concentrate on it for the full duration.
Yeesh that’s a mouthful to say “you can make things light or heavy.” How about some more spells then? The dunamancy Wizards unlock new spells based on their school, so we should probably grab Magnify Gravity since it’s a subclass-specific spell. You should also probably grab Shield seeing as I didn’t give you any ranged cantrips yet. Oops?
LEVEL 3 - WIZARD 3
Third level Wizards can learn second level spells like Misty Step for Fla... right Flash is a League thing... Well you can also grab Flaming Sphere to finally have a “sawblade” that you can move around! Be careful not to hit your allies though!
LEVEL 4 - WIZARD 4
4th level gives us our first Ability Score Improvement: you may notice that we have two uneven Ability Scores, so increase both your Charisma and your Intelligence by 1 to round those numbers up!
You can also learn another cantrip along with two more spells! For your cantrip Sapping Sting is a dunamancy-specific cantrip that can make you trip! It does very little damage but it knocks people prone, finally giving you a ranged damage option! As for leveled spells Levitate is a good way to start making yourself (or others) hover around, and Immovable Object will allow you to turn a nearby object into an unmovable totem to block your foes!
LEVEL 5 - WARLOCK 1
undefined
youtube
(Video by denkles on TikTok. Twitter link.)
What? Did you really not expect it? Warlocks get to choose their subclass at level 1 and to zap with some Magic Sunballs go for none other than The Genie patron. There’s four different Genie Kind you can choose from, which will alter your powers in various ways. Since you’re zapping people go for Djinni, because Thunder damage is the closest we can get to Lightning.
Regardless you get two benefits at level 1 thanks to your Genie’s Vessel. Firstly you carry around a container of some sort that’s meant to contain your patron; I don’t think saying that they’re contained within a little gem atop your staff is too out of the question. Regardless Bottled Respite will let you teleport into your vessel as an action. The inside of the Drop Pod is cozy, if admittedly a little tight. While inside, you can hear the area around your vessel as if you were in its space.
You can remain inside the vessel up to a number of hours equal to twice your proficiency bonus. You exit the vessel early if you use a bonus action to leave, if you die, or if the vessel is destroyed. When you exit the vessel, you appear in the unoccupied space closest to it. Any objects left in the vessel remain there until carried out, and if the vessel is destroyed, every object stored there harmlessly appears in the unoccupied spaces closest to the vessel’s former space. The vessel’s AC equals your spell save DC, and its hit points are equal your warlock level plus your proficiency bonus. Do note that you can only enter the vessel once per Long Rest, even if you only go inside for a few minutes to buy Space Air Max and some Power Pills.
The more important benefit however is Genie’s Wrath. Once on each of your turns when you hit with an attack roll, you can deal extra damage to the target equal to your proficiency bonus. Since you have a Djinni patron the damage type is Thunder.
Speaking of attack rolls: Warlocks get access to Pact Magic! Eldritch Blast is an Eldritch Blast which lets you roll an attack roll for a blast of Eldritch. Since it can hit multiple targets at higher levels you can consider this your lightning bouncing between targets. For a close-range Sawblade Sword Burst will slice up anyone near you, but it isn’t an attack roll so do note that Shocking Grasp will be able to benefit from Genie’s Wrath, even though it’s a Wizard spell.
As for leveled spells Hex is a good way to amp up the damage, and Distort Value from Acquisitions Incorporated can be a good way to get a bit of solar off your next purchase.
LEVEL 6 - WARLOCK 2
Second level Warlocks get Eldritch Invocations like Agonizing Blast to agonize your blasts. You can also get Eldritch Mind because hey we’re multiclassing two spellcasters so advantage on Concentration would be nice; thank you Tasha!
You can also learn another spell like Protection from Evil and Good, because you are still a priest (well, Shaman) who needs to ward off dark spirits.
LEVEL 7 - WARLOCK 3
Third level Warlocks get to choose their Pact Boon and honestly... the only one that makes sense is Pact of the Tome for even more freaking cantrips. To start off Sacred Flame will attack your foes with the light of God, even if they’re hiding behind their turret. Thaumaturgy will let you spook some folk with thunder and lightning as you praise the spirits. And channeling good vibes with Guidance is always helpful.
You can also learn second level spells like Phantasmal Force from the Genie Warlock list, for a totem that only one foe can see. But for that one enemy they’ll believe it to be real!
LEVEL 8 - WARLOCK 4
Level 4 earns you another Ability Score Improvement. Seeing as we’re doing Warlock stuff more Charisma would help.
But even without Charisma you can still cast spells like Mirror Image to keep yourself safe. And you can also cast Prestidigitation for more small magic tricks. "I and I is gonna find ya man!"
LEVEL 9 - WARLOCK 5
5th level Warlocks can learn another invocation. Sitting around in base to chat isn’t a good idea, but you can chat with your allies regardless of where they are thanks to Far Scribe. You can write names in your Book of Shadows, and write messages to those people through Steam Chat to cast Sending on them!
You can also pick up third level spells and we’ll be getting the first of many walls with Wind Wall from the Djinni list to block projectiles!
LEVEL 10 - WARLOCK 6
As a 6th level Genie Warlock you can finally fly! Elemental Gift will let you activate flight for 10 minutes as a Bonus Action. You can fly up to 30 feet and can activate this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. Oh and you get to resist Thunder damage, which is always nice.
You can also learn more spells: to perform more Shamanistic duties Remove Curse will let your friends help themselves.

LEVEL 11 - WARLOCK 7
7th level Warlocks get another Eldritch Invocation but there honestly isn’t much I want from the 7th level. We’re probably going to swap this out later but for now take Undying Servitude to Animate Dead. Who doesn’t love having a couple of zombies?
But are you sick of your teammates never being around to help you? Then make your own! Summon Aberration will let you summon either Nibbs (Slaad), Max Focus (Beholderkin), or Snork Gunk (Star Spawn) to help you! They’ll stick around as long as you keep your concentration, and have a variety of abilities that you can read in the spell’s description. Just remember that money makes the world go around, and mercenaries don’t fight without being paid in Solar first. (What I mean is you need a 400 gold component.)
LEVEL 12 - WARLOCK 8
Level 8 will get you another Ability Score Improvement, so you should max out that Charisma since the majority of your levels are in Warlock! There actually isn’t much I want from the Warlock spell list anymore, so for now you’ll have to wait until...
LEVEL 13 - WARLOCK 9
Hey would it be redundant to get a 20 foot fly speed when we already have a 30 foot fly speed? Well Ascendant Step lets you cast Levitate on yourself at will. While this can be used an unlimited amount of times it does also require your Concentration, so be mindful of that. I’d also suggest replacing Undying Servitude with Otherworldly Leap, because jumping is easy in low gravity! (Unless you’re on AI 404.)
You can also learn 5th level spells like Creation to make an actual real totem! Though it’ll only be 5 feet tall... You can also pickup Seeming from the Djinni list. Skins for everyone! "Shopping Skree!"
LEVEL 14 - WARLOCK 10
10th level Genie Warlocks can send everyone to the shop in their Sanctuary Vessel. When you use Bottled Respite you can now choose up to five willing creatures that you can see within 30 feet of you, and the chosen creatures are drawn into the vessel with you.
Anyone (including yourself) who remains within the vessel for at least 10 minutes gains the benefit of finishing a short rest, and can add your proficiency bonus to the number of hit points they regain if they spend any Hit Dice as part of a short rest there. You can eject any number of creatures from the vessel as a bonus action, and everyone is ejected if you leave or die or if the vessel is destroyed.
Did you want more spells as well? Too bad; you get the Mind Sliver cantrip. What do you mean we have too many cantrips?

LEVEL 15 - WIZARD 5
Finally hopping back to Wizard to maybe use that Intelligence modifier of yours. 5th level class means third level spell slots, and third level spells in your book! Part of the reason we got rid of Undying Servitude is because you can just get Animate Dead from the Wizard spell list. Other than that I did say I’d grab every spell with “wall” in the title so go take Wall of Sand! People can walk through it, but it blocks vision!
LEVEL 16 - WIZARD 6
6th level Graviturgy Wizards can grab some Pills for the Mind and apply some slows. (Or well, technically knockback.) Gravity Well will cause anyone you affect with a spell to be moved 5 feet wherever you wish! Sure it doesn’t sound that impressive, but this does affect your Warlock spells too!
Speaking of spells: ha ha wall spells go brrrr. Wall of Water is, as the name implies, a wall of water! It slows projectiles, stops fire, and can be frozen solid! If you want to play more with knockback however Pulse Wave is a Dunamancy spell that can either knock enemies away from you or pull them closer!
LEVEL 17 - WIZARD 7
7th level Wizards can get some 4th level spells but I’m going to quickly grab Slow from the third level for a Voodoo Doll... or an Alien Hula Girl. And of course I’m going to take Wall of Fire because... wall.
LEVEL 18 - WIZARD 8
8th level Wizards can get another Ability Score Improvement which means finally you can max out your Intelligence modifier! This means you can prepare more spells like Gravity Sinkhole from the Dunamancy list for a deadly “sawblade” with the pull of a phone booth, and Dimension Door for a quick escape back to base!
LEVEL 19 - WIZARD 9
Hey look at that more spells! 5th level spells too like Wall of Stone and Wall of Force, both of which will be quite a challenge for enemies to get past!
LEVEL 20 - WIZARD 10
Our final level is the 10th level of Graviturgy Wizard for a few things. Firstly your Adjust Density ability from level 2 can now affect Huge objects and creatures, but more importantly you now have Violent Attraction. When another creature you can see in 60 feet hits with a weapon, you can use your reaction to amplify the damage to do an extra 1d10! Alternatively, if someone falls you can actually enable fall damage and make them take 2d10.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Intelligence modifier and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Is this a little weak for a capstone? Maybe, but what we’re really here for are spells! You can learn your final two spells... and one more cantrip! So why not grab Mold Earth, for a tiny totem you can spring from the ground at any time. For leveled spells we’ll be grabbing our last wall: Wall of Light... and the other spell with “wall” in its name: Passwall!
There are other spells at 5th level that are probably stronger but I’m sure you can spend some time consulting the spirits to let you learn more spells... as long as you’ve got the Solar for it.
FINAL BUILD
PROS
Ah, it be time to get Jammin - Do you like having a lot of options? Well with tons of spells you can prepare, plenty of options for movement and utility, and 12 different cantrips you won’t ever be lacking in an option for any situation.
I want to kill you, everyday and every night - You are easily the king of Short Rests. Warlock slots and Arcane Recovery can allow you to get a lot of your magic back whenever you see fit, so you can adjust your magic as needed.
Dat be epic wit da Capital Epic - You’re sturdier than the average spellcaster too. Good saves for all 3 mental saves and good AC thanks to being a Dwarf.
CONS
I don't remember dat being part of the Metal! - You’ve got a rather silly amount of Concentration spells, notably with some at-will abilities like Guidance and Levitate. Options are nice and all but you can only have one wall up at a time.
Dem play a card on me! - Speaking of walls: we took at lot of spells (especially at 5th level) that were more for flavor than actual practicality. Sure you can pick up new Wizard spells as you adventure along but... Look I’m not saying I’d prefer to cast Haste over Wall of Sand; just that Wall of Sand isn’t exactly an impressive spell.
Weakless fools, why ya makin me do everyting alone? - Half your levels being in Wizard plus a 0 Constitution modifier means your health is likely somewhere around 100. One-shots are cheap and Power Word Kill isn’t fun, so maybe buy some Power Pills Turbo before heading out.
But you can bring a great deal of mechanical magic to any adventuring party or band of mercenaries. Consult the spirits and let your foes see the voodoo you do! Put up walls to protect your friends as you cut through your enemies; if battle is what you need, you’d best see da Skree! And happy (soon to be) birthday to me!

⚘79 tips💌
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Always eat breakfast. Studies prove that those who eat breakfast tend to make better food choices   later in the day. You don't want to skip off a breakfast of 100 calories for a 500 calorie slice of cake at desert. Besides, breakfast gets your metabolism revved up for the day ahead.
2. If you drink a lot of water on an empty stomach it just makes you gassy. Never fun. Small sips throughout the day is better. You'll also have to pee a lot.
3. If you have things you shouldn't (think diet pills, tape measures, thinspo, bag of spat out food, etc.) make sure you hide it. Leaving it below the bed or in your undies drawer is a surefire way to get those things found.
4. Overuse of laxitives and/or diuretics are bad for your body. Over time, abuse of laxitives and diuretics cause incontinence, and embarassment for you. And if you overuse laxitives, when you stop, your body won;t be able to have a proper bowel movement. Use them only on an as-needed basis, as defined by 'normal' people. As in, only when constipated.
5. If you sleep less than 6 hours a day, your metabolism goes down between 10-20% depending on the person. And your body produces more of the hormone that makes you feel hungry. So even though you can burn more calories by staying up all night on the exercise bike, opt for the sleep instead if you don't want to overindulge the next day.
6. Don't deprive yourself of anything. That just leads to bingeing. If you want chocolate cake, have it, even if it's on your list of 'bad foods'. BUT, only have a few small bites. That way, you can enjoy what you want without ruining your diet.
7. Smaller meals throughout the day help keep your metabolism up, burning more calories.
8. Your body burns about 8 calories per glass of ice water trying to get it up to a temperature in which it can be processed. That's 64 calories a day, translating to about 6 or 7 more pounds burned off in a year. Make ice your new best friend.
9. Fiber keeps you fuller longer, and helps keep your digestive system in good shape, thus reducing the need for all those laxitives.
10. Smaller dishes make it seem like you eat more. You often times eat by eyesight, not by stomach fullness. Studies have shown that in 2 groups, with the same amount of food, but one group using large plates and the other small plates, the group with the small plates reported feeling fuller.
Tumblr media
11.Horizontal stripes and light denims make you look larger. Avoid them like the plague (Or maybe not)
12. Purging too hard can rupture your esophagus. You might die alone and in pain hunched over your toilet. Just saying.
13. If you're having a food craving, and smoke, light up and the craving goes away. However, in a short time, that craving will return with a vengeance.
14. If you have a large binge, then your stomach expands massively, and the pressure kills off blood cells. Over time, this leads to a severely damaged stomach that may rupture. Once again, just like a ruptured esophagus, this could lead to you dying in pain.
15. The negative calorie foods actually only burn about  10% of whatever they put into you. A stick of celery at about 2 cal will only burn off 0.2 cal.
16. Purging doesn't get rid of all of the calories. You still have about 1/3 or 2/3 of those calories left in you, depending on how soon after you eat you decide to purge.
17. If you wait more than an hour to purge, then there's no point in doing it. Even if food comes back up, your body will have already absorbed all those calories.
18. Your body doesn't register the calories from liquid the same way as it does calories from food. Your stomach won't send the same 'stop eating' signals to your brain like with food.
19. A good substitute for soda is ICE Sparkling Water. It has pretty good flavor, small amounts of B Vitamins, and green tea extract, all for 0 calories.
20.  Prolonged fasting/starvation messes up your metabolism.
21. Take a multivitamin every day. Yes, even if it has 5 calories.
22. If your body hits a plateu, a 'binge' helps. It makes your body think that you've stopped starving yourself. In fact, make it a goal that you have a day a week in which you eat at least 1000 calories if you want your metabolism to work properly (meaning it actually keeps burning calories and digesting food).
23.  Blotting greasy foods like bacon and pizza with a napkin can save you about 100 calories.
24. Whole-grains have fiber and make you fuller longer.
25.  Take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Tumblr media
26. Alcohol is calorie dense. Say goodbye to going out drinking with friends unless you plan to be the designated driver.
27.  If you chew and spit it out, you're doing just as much damage to your teeth as vomiting, maybe even more, because saliva has acid like that in your stomach, that starts digestion.
28. Over time, purging depletes tooth enamel. Yes, dentists can recognize it.
29.  If you cook pasta, don't use butter. But you get sticky pasta.
30.  When your periods stop, osteoporosis sets in. You could be a 12 year old girl with the bones of an 80 year old woman. Sometimes, your bones never regain the proper density. You'll become prone to stress fractures and breaking bones. Calcium supplements are gold right here. Buy the ones for elderly people with osteoporosis if you can.
31. Brushing your teeth right after purging causes the enamel to wear off, making your teeth decay faster. Chewing gum or mints releases saliva, doing the same.
32. Drinking a lot of water can make it seem that you weigh more, which can help when visiting the doctor. If a lot of liquid is consumed in a short period of time, you might cause yourself brain damage, swelling of the brain, water logging of the brain.... So be careful about waterlogging.
33.  Dehydration speeds up tooth decay, because you won't have enough protective enzymes in your mouth to prevent the saliva from doing damage to your teeth. Don't restrict liquids.
34. Make yourself lunch. A nice big sandwich with a juice and pack of chips. Then when you get to school, give it away to someone who forgot theirs.
35.  If you hide food that you were supposed to have eaten, make sure you do something about it ASAP. Same with the bag of puke in the closet.
36. Be prepared for all the questions of 'have you lost weight' and 'are you eating'.
37. You can only make the excuse of food poisoning a few times before it becomes fishy.
38.  Laxitives don't affect calorie consumption.
39. The more that you insist that you're fat, the more likey people are going to become suspicious.
Tumblr media
40. Don't use thinspo with people showing bones. It raises eyebrows.
41. Denying things just makes people get more suspicious.
42. Running to the bathroom right after you eat makes people assume that you're going to go purge.
43. Hot water fills you up more, but cold water burns  more calories.
44.  When you go into ketosis, your breath is going to smell like hell. Mints are your buddies.
45.  Your body often mistakes thirst for hunger.
46.  Track progress by measuring tapes, not scales or mirrors. Your eyes will show you a hippo, even if you're a skeleton with a skin covering, and scales get affected by everything, and I mean everything.
47. If you take too many diet pills, or even just one on an empty stomach, it gives you some pretty nasty side effects. Make sure you take one with something food. Like a few bites of an apple.
48. The artificial sweeteners like those in diet soda have been shown in studies to promote the body storing belly fat. And some have been linked to brain tumors.
49. Eating on a dark blue or black plate has the effect of making you eat less.
50. If you want to prevent a binge, just buy the food that you need for the day if you live by yourself.
51. Frozen foods take longer to eat, so you feel occupied longer, and you might feel fuller. Oh, and your body has to burn calories to get it to a temperature that it can be digested, so win all around!
52. If you get bad headaches, it's probably because you're dehydrated or your blood sugar is too low.
53. If you don't eat enough, your blood sugar drops, and then you start feeling weak and dizzy and get horrible headaches.
54. Don't take aspirin on an empty stomach. It'll make you puke.
55.  Be careful about sitting with your legs crossed, they might fall asleep and cause you pain, and if you're thin enough, you might pinch something, leaving you in pain or unable to walk.
56. If you don't drink enough, you'll get dehydrated, and then your muscles will hurt like a bitch. And no, painkillers probably won't do anything for this.
57. It takes about 20 minutes for your body to feel full from the time that you first put a bite of food into your mouth.
Tumblr media
58. Some sugar free gums have 3 calories, and some have 5. Even though you aren't swallowing it, you should count these.
59. Get really good at math. That way, you can easily mentally add up whatever you've eaten for the day, without having to write it down. People get suspicious if they come across a food diary.
60. Dress warmly enough to keep warm without making it obvious. People get suspicious if you're wearing a coat in 90 degree weather, or complaining about being cold while they're ok or even too hot.
61. Spicy foods and seaweed boost the metabolism. Seaweed soup (35cal) with 1 tbsp soy sauce(10cal) and hotsauce (5cal) makes a great dinner.
62. Eating cabbage to lose weight is good, but smelly.
63. Eating in front of the TV or computer distracts you from feeling full.
64. Eat while standing burns more calories than eating while sitting.
65. Talk a lot and eat very little at lunch or dinner and people won't notice.
66. Keep food spread out and close to the plate and people will think it's more.
67. Your skin will turn gray or yellow if you don't eat right. Tanning might help counteract this.
68. Your hair will get super dry and maybe even turn gray in places. Have extra strength conditioner and hair dye on call.
69. Your nailbeds are going to get blue from lack of nutrients. Find a pretty color nailpolish that you like.
70. Every 20 minutes or so when sitting, get up and take a short walk if you can.
71. Delete your browsing history. It's hard to explain away your sudden weight loss when there's all the pro ana tricks in your computer.
72. Weight lost slowly will stay off, whereas weight that is lost rapidly will come back, with more, when you start eating even somewhat normal.
73. If you lose weight too fast, you also lose muscle. When that happens, you burn off calories more slowly.
74. People with more muscle burn off more calories doing the same activities as people with less muscle.
75.  If you burn off too much muscle, then your body burns calories more slowly.
76. Only eat when people are going to notice. And then, only have something small.
Tumblr media
77. Excuses will be your new best friend. Use them like a cheap whore.
78. Lack of nutrients make you depressed.
79. Fasting for days on end makes your metabolism go down and increases cravings.

DWTCS Season 3 Opener; A Preview
Joey
June 15th, 2019
On Tuesday, Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series will return at an all new location, making the move from Fight Pass to ESPN+. The Contenders Series is broadening the scope a little bit, going from just American based fighters to sprinkling in some new countries and locales to the mix. The Contenders Series has its flaws (it's based primarily on the whim of one man, it will always favor finishers over non-finishers) but it's proven to be an intriguing place to find exciting new young talent. At the very least, we can see it's impact on weight classes that needed some new faces like welterweight (Geoff Neal, Dwight Grant), middleweight (Edmen Shabazyan, Ian Henisch) and light heavyweight and heavyweight (Karl Roberson, Juan Adams, Alonzo Menifield, Ryan Spann to name a few).  It tends to favor raw athletes who finish fights over polished established names and I kind of don't think that's a bad thing. I'm a big gamble on upside guy and this show tends to seek out upside.
The Contenders Series is a fun way to burn an hour and a half most of the time and I can’t think of an episode where I’ve walked away feeling like my time was wasted or feeling like somebody undeserving got a contract. As such, I’m going to be trying (TRYING) to do some detailed previews throughout the season. Her’es what I got for episode one:
Punahele Soriano (5-0, 26 years old, pro since 2017) vs Jamie Pickett (9-3, 30 years old, pro since 2011) Middleweights
Punahele Soriano Where He Fight At? Punahele has basically been fighting in name regionals since he turned pro. Backed by Xtreme Couture, Soriano's second ever pro fight was on one of the first PFL cards and he's had pinch hit opportunities in LFA and Titan FC. Who'd He Ever Beat? Nobody you'd know necessarily. Punahele's fought what I'd refer to as "regional fluff", dudes with records that are puffy on paper but thinner the deeper you get into them. It's like Nasim Richardson's theory that you have to go beyond who the guy is and dig into who HE beat too. Puna's last fight was against Jhonoven Pati who at the time was 4-1. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Punahele's opponents were a combined 10-6 going into their fights with records ranging as spiffy as 5-1 to as bad as 0-3 (his debut). Why Is He Here? Punahele Soriano's spot here is primarily due to the division he fights in, the way he fights and the fact that this entire show concept is MADE for dudes like him. He's young and he fights at middleweight, a division in renaissance but still riddled with arthritic dudes. He's finished every fight he's had in the first round and often in impressive fashion. He's more athletic than everyone he fights and it shows every time. This is the sort of format where a dude like that gets a test fight like this to determine how much of his skills are fact and how much of it is fiction. Puna probably gets signed with a win.
Jamie Pickett Where He Fight At? Jamie Pickett is ACTUALLY a DWTCS alum. He fought Charles Byrd on the first season of the Contenders Series and lost in the first round. Outside of that and a Legacy Fighting cameo? Pickett has mostly fought in the Carolinas like Ric Flair in the 80s. Who'd He Ever Beat? Nobody you'd really know. His best win is Cristhian Torres, a 185/205er who fights primarily in Florida and owns a 14-10 record. Torres is a reliable proven regional busybody though so while it's not the greatest win, it's a solid name for the level. Torres is one of two fighters that Pickett's beaten who at the time of the fight had a winning record, the other guy being a fella by the name of Brian McGinnis who was 4-2 at the time. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Jamie Pickett's record of opposition is 52-47. His best opponent was 7-4 Charles Byrd who got a contract from the UFC (eventually) and has gone 1-2 in the organization. Outside of that you have a bunch of fellas who were 1-2, a few guys who were 8-9 and the aforementioned Torres (12-8) and McGinnis (4-2). Why Is He Here? On paper, Pickett's here to fill a spot. There's nothing wrong with that necessarily! Pickett's job is to test Soriano and see if he's the goods or not. Granting Pickett the caveat that he took the fight vs Byrd on short notice (although I may have that flipped around depending upon who you ask), it's not a record that inspires you to believe he's here to do anything but give Soriano a challenge. We've seen Dana and company do this before; the exciting guy gets a name opponent by regional standards who is stylistically all wrong for him. Soriano is a great wrestler and Pickett's wrestling has never been what I'd consider to be a strength. He's here to be "the opponent" but the Contenders Series has seen the opponent win before. That's kinda what makes it great.
Brok Weaver (13-4, 26 years old, pro since 2013) vs Leon Shahbazyan (7-1, 23 years old, pro since 2016) Welterweights
Brock Weaver Where He Fight At? Brok Weaver has been casually cutting his teeth down at Island Fights, a little promotion that hid in obscurity before it wound up on Fight Pass. They've churned out some guys like Mike Perry, Alex Nicholson and Mike Davis. Weaver's primarily spent the entire of his career in Florida. Who'd He Ever Beat? I don't necessarily know if folks would consider these names quality but Weaver has fought and beaten Charles Bennett (THAT Charles Bennett), Contenders Series alum Mike Mustaki and regional dudes like Elvin Brito and Socrates Pierre. You kinda got beat those two dudes to get anywhere in Florida MMA.  He's also lost to Socrates Pierre, current rising WW Demarques Jackson and Titan FC vet Martin Brown. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Removing our pal Krazy Horse from the mix, Weaver's opponents at the time of their fight own a pretty good 74-39 with some really good fighters since pretty much his 6th or 7th pro fight. Adding Krazy Horse to the mix, the record is 104-75. Hard to argue with that sort of competition especially in Florida. Why Is He Here? I don't know if Weaver is UFC quality but this feels like rewarding a guy who has done really well against relatively good competition in a pretty tough division. He's on a six fighting winning streak against competition with winning records minus one guy who was 7-9. He's beaten the fighters you'd know if you follows regional MMA on a more heavy basis. I also assume there may be some bareknuckle rub since dude fought (and lost) to Joe Riggs.
Leon Shahbazyan Where He Fight At? California! Leon has fought primarily against less than stellar competition on the California regional scene at places like Gladiator Challenge. Who'd He Ever Beat? Nobody. Tapology is very good at what they do and I have to assume they have no reason to lie when you look at the names and records. The first fighter Leon fought with a winning record was also his only pro loss. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? I feel bad for even writing this up but Shahbazyan's opponents were 16-70 with two guys making their debuts, one guy at 0-1 and one fella rocking an 18-40 record. The one fighter he faced with a winning record at 4-2 was Bellator vet Gabriel Green. Why Is He Here? Let's begin with the outside of the cage stuff first. Shahbayzan's here because he's trained by Edmund Tarverdyan, fights out of Glendale, is managed by Ronda Rousey AND his little brother Edmond is 2-0 in the UFC. Watching his fights on youtube, there's really nothing to suggest he's ready for this spot. That said as we've seen with Sergio Pettis, you tend to have the training wheels taken off of you when your brother is a big deal. The experience difference is so vast in this fight that I'm almost on paper uncomfortable with how bad it COULD wind up. Or Leon blows through Weaver and makes me look stupid.
Kali Robbins (6-2, 34 years old, pro since 2015) vs Hannah Goldy (4-0, 27, pro since 2016) Women's Strawweight
Kali Robbins Where She Fight At? If you're a fan of Invicta then Robbins is not new to you. She's fought in the organization twice as well as making her debut in RFA. Who'd She Ever Beat? Sharon Jacobson is the best win on Kali's resume, perhaps made more impressive by the fact that it was her fifth pro fight. Robbins' two losses are pretty quality too in UFC vets Pearl Gonzalez and Hannah Cifers. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Kali Robbins' opposition is not bad, pulling in at 31-25. Her strength of schedule is skewered by beating Sharon Jacobson when she was 4-1. Her losses are to Pearl Gonzalez at 6-3 in Invicta and then 7-3 Hannah Cifers in Cifers' last fight outside the UFC. Why Is She Here? Well for starters, the UFC is going to need more strawweights eventually. As women's flyweight picks away at the depth, opportunities in the ranks will open up. Robbins is far from the least qualified contestant fighting for one of those spots. She's got a bit of a name, she's been around the block so to speak, her window is closing given her age and it's pretty much now or never for her to get into the organization.
Hannah Goldy Where She Fight At? Hannah Goldy is another fighter who has spent her time down in Island Fights. Who'd She Ever Beat? Hannah Goldy made her pro debut against UFC veteran Gillian Anderson and beat her by decision. She also fought Elisa Blaine, the Bellator fighter who beat Ana Julaton. It's a pretty good record for someone with just four fights. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Not much to report here since Goldy's record of opposition is 4-1. Two debuts, 2-0 and 2-1. Easy math that even I could figure out. Why Is She Here? The association with Roy Jones Jr doesn't hurt I suppose. Roy's a big Island Fights guy and RJJ has tweeted her out/mentioned her before. Goldy's 4-0 record is also pretty impressive with some damn good strength of competition. There's no reason why she shouldn't be here as the UFC tries to find more faces for strawweight and flyweight. Goldy also has viral buzz as she's the lady Alex Nicholson proposed to on the scales before a UFC event and as mentioned before, RJJ tends to up her a bit on social media.
Bill Algeo (12-3, 30 years old, pro since 2012) vs Brendan Loughnane (16-3, 29, pro since 2010) Featherweight
Bill Algeo Where He Fight At? Bill Algeo's resume reads like a dude who has been fighting since 2012 all over the Northeast. We've got WSOF (yeah, he was around before the name change), CFFC and ROC. Basically all of the cool places for regional MMA at the time. Who'd He Ever Beat? Algeo's record isn't loaded with names so to speak but he's been the ROC featherweight champion for a good long minute now. He's beaten former TUF contestant Jeff Lentz, regional MMA fighter Tim Dooling and John De Jesus. His losses are REALLY impressive and well worth keeping an eye on with guys like UFC top 10 FW Shane Burgos and solid UFC veteran Jared Gordon in the mix. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Bill Algeo's quality of competition record wise is FIERCE with a 71-36 combined record at the time of their fights with Algeo. Jeff Lentz is probably the best opponent he has with the 11-4 record and his losses are to dudes like 4-0 Shane Burgos and 11-1 Jared Gordon. Worst fighter on his record numerically is the 10-6 John De Jesus. Why Is He Here? He's really good? Bill Algeo's a really solid regional featherweight who is worthy of the opportunity. He may be overaged for the Contenders Series but 30 isn't a death sentence even in a tough division like 145 lbs. Algeo's earned this shot and I'll always be in favor of long term regional champions getting the opportunity.
Brendan Loughnane Where He Fight At? The UFC! Loughnane was apart of the UFC's Smashes season pitting Australia against the UK. That's the same season that gave us Robert Whittaker, Ben Alloway, Mike Wilkinson and Norman Parke. Outside of that, he's popped around ACB and BAMMA quite a bit as well. Who'd He Ever Beat? If you've been around since 2010, you've probably beaten your fair share of quality dudes on the European scene. Brendan Loughnane has wins over Mike Wilkinson, Ali McClean and Jason Cooledge. His losses are to Mike Wilkinson in the UFC, "Fire Kid" Tom Duquesnoy via split decision and a split decision loss to long time veteran Pat Healy. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Brandan has been around a good long minute so again, no surprise he's got a pretty solid quality of competition record. Loughnane's opponents were a combined 158-98 at the time of their fight. The best opponents record wise are obviously Pat Healy at 30-23, 10-1 Tom Duquesnoy, 7-0 and later 9-3 Mike Wilkinson and 11-1 Paata Tsxpella. Loughnane went a combined 2-3 against those guys. Why Is He Here? When Dana White first started talking about the Contenders Series, he spoke about the idea of fighters maybe struggling to make it in the UFC being given the opportunity to earn their keep on the show. That idea was toyed with in parts but not fully implemented and keeping with that theme, the UFC also toyed with using the Contenders Series as a spot for dudes who flamed out of the organization to fight their way back in. We've seen guys like Joby Sanchez and Julian Erosa primarily make good on this (although the combined 0-5 record suggests some dudes are best left out) and now Brendan Loughnane looks to try his hand at it. He's at least earned the chance.
Yorgan de Castro(4-0, 31 years old, pro since 2017) vs Alton Meeks (3-0, 25 years old, pro since 2018) Heavyweight
Yorgan de Castro Where He Fight At? CES MMA primarily. The promotion that once held Batista's first pro fight has been a bit of a hot spot for DWTCS guys. Who'd He Ever Beat? Nobody I've heard of. Yorgan has only had 4 fights and it's regional HW MMA so he hasn't fought anybody anybody has heard of. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? Case in point? The record of opposition at the time of their fights is a rather blegh 10-11. His best opponent in record is 3-1 Ras Hylton which is on youtube if you wanna check it out. His best opponent in actuality is probably 7-6 veteran gatekeeper Carlton Little who lost to TUF Contestant Justin Frazier. Why Is He Here? Welp. A look at Castro's fights have me assuming that he's probably better suited a weight class down. He looks IMO like a Cannonier type; a dude who can fight at HW but also at 205 lbs if need be or even lower. He's here because the UFC was trying to set up Penn State wrestler Jimmy Lawson for a DWTCS spot. They asked him to a win a fight and IF he won, he'd get de Castro. Lawson lost and de Castro was kept on with a new opponent. From cannon fodder to potential UFC deal. Dude loves his naked leg kicks and his overhand rights too so chances are he's either getting flattened or flattening someone.
Alton Meeks Where He Fight At? Some in Florida, some in Georgia. Who'd He Ever Beat? A lot of nothin'. Alton Meeks' wrestling credentials and his college football background suggest his best opponents probably aren't the dudes on his MMA ledger. Record Of Opposition At The Time Of Their Fight? His opponents are a combined 4-6. His best win is probably 2-3 Baraq Hunter who also fought Alex Nicholson (and lost). Why Is He Here? It's actually interesting but the UFC might've tripped and fell into somebody. Meeks is the Jimmy Lawson replacement but some digging suggests there's some stuff here. He's apparently a good enough wrestler to have had some Olympic aspirations and he played college football which suggests the athleticism is there. He apparently took up  fighting after a few weeks of training and so he might actually be capable of getting even better. Meeks is here because one HW pulled out and the UFC needs HWs. Just collect big doughy dudes.

OUAT Rewatch: 1X02 - The Thing You Love Most
How in Merlin’s tree trunk did this post end up being longer than the one for the freakin’ Pilot?!
I better watch it, or this is gonna be one wordy rewatch!
If you want to join in on my rewatch train and hear my thoughts, head below the cut because this is another long one! (Here’s what to expect if you do: Fawning over dynamics, getting lost in sexy ladies both on their own and together, fanfiction bunnies a plenty, and a squigin of analysis! Bring a shaker, because there’s hardly a pinch of salt here!)
Chugga, chugga, chugga, chugga, TWO TWO!
Press Release Regina does everything in her power to force Emma out of Storybrooke and out of her and Henry’s lives forever. Meanwhile, the chilling circumstances of how the Evil Queen released the curse upon the fairytale world is revealed. General Thoughts Following up the pilot, a remarkable - practically flawless - episode was a hard task and this episode delivered! It kicks off right from where we ended last time in the present, and we get a cool change of perspective in the past. Speaking of which, let us start off in the past. I love the transition between Regina in the wedding hall to her castle and immediately, we give her some people to talk to and set up her power dynamics. Not only do we get to see two servants, but people closer to Regina’s level, and that’s so important as an audience member to get a feel for her strengths and weaknesses going forward and to paint a picture of someone who has truly exhausted every resource to get what she wants. That makes the twisted tragedy at the end of the episode so much more complicated, though no less evil. Of course, Regina comes out of this episode with so much development. The moonlit scenes (both by the fire pit and in the castle) with Henry Sr (Whose identity was one of OUAT’s greatest twists) spoke to how Regin’s lust for revenge has eclipsed not only her sensibilities of right and wrong, but the love that others in her life (most notably Henry Sr. himself). Finally, I want to point out the scene between Rumple and Regina, because it was so close to being my favorite dynamic of the episode. There’s a level of comfortable tension between the two of them. You can see it in the way that Regina’s not surprised when Rumple asks for more in his deal, and despite Rumple’s silly and insane antics and requests, she’s able to hold steady. Their relationship also contrasts the scene with Regina and Mal. In that scene, Regina was able to take what she wanted. In this scene, she must relent and gagree to Rumple’s terms, and that speaks to the matter of sizing up Regina that I mentioned before and in a way that doesn’t skimp on character development for either Mal or Rumple. In addition, the scene just made me laugh. Fuck! Robert Carlyle is too fucking good! Now let’s blast to the present! The opening is really delightful and gives off a feeling of something being both familiar and new, and it’s a great metaphor for the waves that Emma is already bringing to Storybrooke. In fact, the whole episode - characters and stories - show a shift. Everyone acts just a little closer to either the direction of their character arcs (Ex. Emma and Archie) or to their fairytale selves (Ex. Regina, Rumple, and Archie), and it’s played very subtly. Just like the tick of a clock. Not gonna lie, I laughed hard during the famous apple tree scene. Between Emma’s satisfied smile, the way Regina freakin’ wooshed from her window to go investigate, and how Regina was screaming had me cackling like a hyena. However, in addition to being funny, we also got some more characterization out of Emma, namely impulsivity and external fearlessness. What I mean by external fearlessness is how while Emma is afraid of intangible things like forming connections and trusting, a threat like an intimidating person is a lot less scary to her, and she has no trouble taking Regina up on her threats. I feel that these traits are expanded on, but given a suitable level of retention throughout the rest of the series. Insights I immediately realized how weird it was that we had an actual voice-over intro to the show in Season 1. I totally understand why it disappeared after the curse broke, but just remembering it again was like a cup of cold water to the face. Also, I really wish that we could have somehow had the narrator who did the intro as well as the famous “previously, on Once Upon a Time” be an actual character a-la “Into the Woods,” or hell, make him Isaac or an older Henry! Of course, keep Andrew West, but maybe a Henry who is the Apprentice’s age! XD Between this episode and the pilot, I notice so much pop music in the show’s soundtrack! In later seasons, apart from the rare instance of “Only You” and a couple of 80’s songs at Roni’s or the arcade, we really don’t get instances of contemporary tracks. I’m stuck between that being important or not. On one hand, the change to classical could reflect on the reformation of Storybrooke to its fairy tale origins with the end of the curse and the return of magic, but the contemporary music, at least here, also goes along with the theme of things changing in Storybrooke, and for the better. ALSO, along the lines of music, I couldn’t help but notice how the lyrics of the song specifically resonate with the specific character on screen as they’re sung (Ex. “Don’t be shy” to Mary Margaret, “Don’t wear your fear” to Emma, and “Let your feelings out instead” to Graham’s car and Archie). Neat! Aesthetic stuff that pleases me: Regina’s outfits in this episode are all among my favorite (And her hair in the flashback - high ponytails are the way to go if you’re a fairytale character!), Emma’s bug (So, I won a model of her bug in an auction at NJ con last year and I was sad to see a gray dent in the middle, and just now, I saw that same dent in her bug in the show! I’m so happy), Emma in that tank (How the hell did I not realize I was bi until nearly a year after I started this show?!), The smoke when characters poof around (It looks so good in the beginning of the show - no offense to later seasons - I like the smoke there too, but this smoke is so puffy and like a mix of cotton and its accompanying seeds as they flutter in the breeze), and Lana’s makeup (I normally don’t pay attention to makeup, but with the lighting of this episode, I couldn’t help but notice it) I also really wish we had an episode about Regina’s apple tree! Along those same lines, we see Regina with a horde of baddies, and a lot of them have really cool designs. I’m not saying we needed their stories per se - sometimes a minion can just be a minion - but I wish we could’ve seen a bit more of them. These are some of the “darkest souls,” after all. This episode really made me think about how I felt about Maleficent and the consistency between the character we see here as well as in bits and pieces throughout Seasons 1 and 2 and the one who reappears in Season 4. Now, obviously, we see her story out of order, as Lily not only was already gone but in a meta-sense, not created yet (Some would call it a retcon, but I agree with the perspective suggested once that retconning isn’t really a thing on OUaT due to the non-linear timeline method of storytelling and Mal’s motivations - while somewhat set up - aren’t loosely defined at this point in the series). Some things not evaluated on - the horse, most notably - give me pause, though as to its importance. Arcs I’ll be honest: I’m not exactly sure how to expand upon this section. Here’s my best attempt. Emma journey of belief - I’ll elaborate on this a bit, but Emma’s journey with belief is tied to her relationship with Henry, and as their relationship developed here, as did Emma’s journey. However, as I will also mention, she has a long way to go. The power struggle against Regina - This episode painted a much more elaborate picture of Regina and her power dynamics with others in her life. We see her acting as mayor and the levels of influence she holds over the whole town. The corruption of Storybrooke is clear to all but the most naive. At the same time though, she is not infallible, and those who choose to stand up to her are indeed victorious, but give rise to a Regina who is not only more vicious, but also more sinister and calculating. Favorite Dynamic Emma and Henry! I feel like this episode shows their dynamic even better than the pilot did. Here, they get a bit more banner, and while there’s an intense push-and-pull still there, we get to see more of Henry’s likable and precocious traits and how they mix with a jaded, but less-so Emma. They also get a lot of funny moments! Between and Henry owning up to sending the hot cocoa, more or less demanding Emma walk him to school, and throwing the apple in the hammiest fashion, I could hardly keep a straight face. But more than that, I feel like there’s a good mix of Henry explaining himself, but also not letting a moment of character building drop in his grasp, and not only does he ensure that, but every character that brings him up does the same (Specifically, Archie). Also, Henry’s much more self aware here. Now that the threat of Emma going is averted for the time being, he’s able to express his own understanding of her doubts and build on that logically without letting his belief falter. I love when Regina’s trying to convince him that Emma’s a conwoman and he’s just having none of it. All of this just makes the scene where Regina sets Emma up to hurt Henry by dismissing his beliefs so tragic, especially because it comes from this honest and caring place on Emma’s part. She wants to look out for Henry’s well being, and yet her words are twisted, undoing any good that could come of her well-meaning intentions. When the scene is resolved, it’s not a step in Emma’s journey of belief, per se (She’s very clearly lying about the fairy tale world being real), but in her relationship with Henry, and that’s revealed to be one and the same. I also want to point out the specialness that is their relationship based on the conversation that Emma and Mary Margaret share. Mary Margaret brings up a good point: most everyone who knows and cares enough for Henry are under Regina’s thumb. She controls their livelihoods and make it near impossible to do too much to act in Henry’s best interests. However, Emma, an outsider who is not dependent on Regina (At least at this moment), exists outside this paradigm and is the only one both in a position to and fearless enough to create the change in Henry’s life that will actually improve his situation. It creates a meaningful reason for Emma to remain in Storybrooke and adds a unique challenge to Emma’s usual instinct to not - as Sidney says - “sit still.” Writer A&E are once again at the helm of this episode! Right now, as I work with two episodes, I consider their main strengths to be their depictions of character relationships of all kinds (With one weird exception that honestly surprised me). As for weaknesses, as I know I’ll be expanding on this in due time, overambition. There’s so much set up in this episode as well as the one before it, and while most (within the scope of only these two episodes) gets meaningful resolution, there are some elements that don’t. Rating 10/10...I was conflicted about what to give this episode. It’s great. It’s very fucking great, and a Golden Apple - however repetitious from my last episode. However, this is a rewatch, and with a rewatch comes the acknowledgment and recognition of unused potential of story elements in hindsight, and this episode does show a lot that was never truly acted upon. In addition to background events and characters, some story elements like Emma and Henry pretending to be non believers don’t come back. That having been said, that unused story potential only holds in regard to smaller character and story elements, things that I want to be built on, and that’s a weak criticism at best. The important story elements - the main story points and the integral characters - are treated well by this episode. There’s nuance and charm galore added to our central cast and the story propels us from the powerful pilot into a well-written continuation. So, I took away its * and left it as a 10/10. Flip My Ship Swan Queen - I love the bickering so much! Regina calling Emma “dear” had me giggling like sparkly Rumple after eight cups of coffee! Oh damn, and those intense looks at the hotel! AND the freakin’ apple tree scene! That tension was so thick, you could only hope to cut it with a chainsaw! Dragon Queen - Regina and Mal’s scene is a long and strong, and while I don’t start really feeling it with them until Season 4, I do still love the connection between them. That only friend line implies so much history, and knowing at least the start of their connection really gives extra meaning to that line.
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()
...So much for keeping these rewatch pieces short, am I right? Hope you liked them and thanks once more to the fine folks at @watchingfairytales for putting this rewatch together! Season Tally (20/220) Writer Tally for Season 1: A&E (20/70)

PTFE Lined Diaphragm Valves
INTRODUCTION TO DIAPHRAGM SHUTOFFS: Diaphragm Shutoffs are made use of to control the flow of the materials or liquids. To narrow the circulation course for the fluid, Diaphragm Shutoffs are using an adaptable sheet pushed close to the side of a marketed dam. This process is not similar to controlling the circulation of water by pinching the end of the versatile tube. As specific throttling is very difficult to attain as a result of the versatility of the diaphragm, regardless these shutoffs are best matched for the circulations of solid particulate issue such as slurries.
Diaphragm Shutoffs or membrane shutoffs are having a shutoff body with two or even more ports. One is a diaphragm as well as the various other being a dam or saddle or seat whereupon the diaphragm shuts the shutoff. Depending on the demand the body of the valve can be created from various products such as plastic, metal and even timber.
Tumblr media
Diaphragm Shutoffs have two major groups. Seals over a dam and seals over a seat. Out of both of these types, the dam type is more generally utilized in process applications and also the seat kind is generally utilized in slurry applications to minimize blocking issues; Nevertheless, it can likewise be used as a process shutoff.
Diaphragm Shutoffs most typically comes in two-port building (2/2 method diaphragm shutoff), however they can also have 3 ports (3/2 means diaphragm valve), a three-port diaphragm valve is frequently called T-valves. In addition, relying on the demands, it can have greater than 3 ports, it is called a Block shutoff. As in Block shutoffs, there are greater than 3 ports present, they call for more than one diaphragm seat. Yet there are special twin actuators present, which can manage greater than 3 ports with only one membrane. There are various types of Diaphragm Valves specified incidentally of actuation. The following are one of the most typical kinds of Diaphragm Shutoffs and their standard use. Diaphragm Shutoff activated by an electrical motor, it is utilized to regulate the circulation of treated sewer. A hand-actuated Diaphragm Shutoff is utilizing the dam framework against the diaphragm, which creates a leak-tight seal when it remains in the closed position. Pneumatically actuated Diaphragm Valves are making use of the pressure of compressed air on one side of the diaphragm. It presses versus the dam to shut off the circulation. The air-actuated diaphragm shutoff can manage the circulation of water from the pipe as little as a 1-inch pipeline. ADVANTAGES OF DIAPHRAGM VALVES For strangling services, Diaphragm Valves are very efficient. The most important part of its huge shut-off area along the seat is its strangling capability for the quick opening of the valve. In order to control all flows, a dam type diaphragm shutoff is readily available. The most common performance for diaphragm shutoffs is the handling of corrosive liquids, fibrous slurries, contaminated liquids or various other liquids, which need to be without contamination. Sticky or thick fluids can not get involved in the hood to hinder the operating system, many thanks to its construction as the valve is never exposed to the media within the pipe. Where much of the shutoffs may get clogged, corrode, or fumble due to tough to go through fluids, diaphragm shutoffs manage them faultlessly. Thanks to the lubes it utilizes for the operating system, which will certainly not permit any one of the liquids it is taking care of to pollute the system. The opportunity of stem leaking in the valve is virtually none and also as it has no packaging glands, the maintenance is likewise really low. PTFE LINED FLUSH BOTTOM VALVES: INTRODUCTION TO FLUSH BASE VALVE: Shutoffs have to handle a great deal of various kinds of materials. Flush Base Valve is also known as Drain Bottom Shutoff or Bottom Valve, as the name suggest this is a special-purpose valve, they are extremely efficient versus upsetting slurry, thick materials as well as semi-solid materials as well, for piping systems.
These shutoffs are readily available in a vast array of sizes differing from 15mm to 150mm. Relying on the user's requirements lower shutoffs can be created from different sort of products such as cast steel, SS 304/316, cast iron or any unique alloy. Depending upon the process there are a number of choices existing for seating, like Neoprene, Rubber and PTFE., for unique applications there are lined flush lower shutoffs. Like PTFE Lined/ PFA lined flush bottom shutoffs. Glass lined flush lower shutoffs are additionally prominent for pharma and also chemical sector for high purity or very harsh material applications. PFA lined flush lower shutoffs are lined with fluoropolymers from within and the spindle has lining.
These valves are normally connected to the pad kind nozzle. When it is in the shut placement the disk matches with all-time low of the vessel or piping. This creates almost no space for any kind of stagnation or holds up.
There are 2 types of flush lower valves available. Shutoffs with disk opening into the storage tanks. Shutoffs with disk right into the shutoff. For the previous kind, in order to drain the fluid, the stem presses the disk into the tank; However, if there are products that can limit the movement of the disk after that this type of valves can not be used. As this might influence the drain of the material completely.
For later type, the disk is taken down straight to the valve, which results in the discharge of the materials.
2 of one of the most usual disk layouts are Plug kind as well as Ram kind.
Usually, for a conventional flush bottom valve, the inlet size is more than the outlet size. Nonetheless, there are some unique constructions feasible with both electrical outlets having the very same sizes.
Completion connections are normally flanged. Outlet port and Inlet port are generally set to an angel of 45 or 60 degrees, this supplies the variance needed for the flush system. There are smaller size drainpipe valves also provide with the welding end at Inlet to manage higher stress. The highest-rated flanged shutoff is ANSI 300 lbs as of the moment of writing this information.
There is an exceptional resemblance in between both Flush Base Shutoff and also Globe Valve in regards to the components being made use of. Likewise, the opening as well as closing activities for both valves are comparable. Both of these valves are making use of disk closing versus the body seat in order to get the shut-off effect. Depending upon the solutions, jacketed Flush Bottom Valves are likewise readily available. If needed, the seat and the disc can be machined with such accuracy to obtain the vacuum cleaner duty.
BELOW ARE SOME SECRET BENEFITS FOR LINED BASE FLUSH VALVE:
Stress loss is very reduced. At the bottom pad of the tank, there is nearly absolutely no holds up many thanks to the unique design of the Flush Base Shutoff. Safety is ensured thanks to the sturdy building and construction of the valve. There are several types of lining readily available to choose from, to match the working problems. This is the most economical sort of shutoff offered as confirmed by the efficiency. In order to lower the dead room, there is some extended seat offered.
SEVERAL OF THE MOST BASIC APPLICATIONS FOR FLUSH BASE VALVES:
Among one of the most usual uses for Y-Type Flush Base Valves is to release liquids and other slurry products from the bottom of the reactors and other substantial storage tanks. Harsh Applications.
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PTFE SHEETS Polytetrafluoroethylene (frequently referred to as PTFE) is an artificial fluoropolymer. Roy Plunkett developed PTFE back in 1938, it was an accidental wonder. Roy was initially looking for a much better air coolant gas while working on it overnight, he winds up with a semi-hard material with remarkable residential properties. For over 80 years currently, we are benefiting from its homes like non-stick, friction-free, non-wetting, self-lubricating, non-brittle, non-toxic as well as non-flammable, weather are not able to impact it at all, resistant to fungus, chemical immune just to name a few. The electric buildings of a PTFE are similarly brilliant. Not only this, however PTFE can preserve all these homes over a really large range of temperature, -200 ° C to 350 ° C. Which makes it an ideal linning material for sheets. Adhering to is the checklist of PTFE sheets and also their different applications for you to pick from:
1) VIRGIN PTFE SHEET: Virgin PTFE sheet is essentially a high-performance polycarbonate. It supplies incredibly low rubbing as well as exceptional dielectric strength. It supplies exceptionally reduced wetness absorption. It has a variety of functioning temperature levels, and also it is extremely chemical corrosion and also hydrolysis resistant. Furthermore, it is accepted for food preparation functions and it is extremely immune to UV. Many thanks to its characteristics, it prevails to see PTFE as a gasket for highly aggressive chemicals and cellular lining. As it has really low rubbing it can likewise be taken legal action against as a slider plate or bearings. As well as not to forget its electric residential or commercial properties, that makes it a fantastic electric insulator.
Tumblr media
APPLICATIONS: These sheets are frequently used in a wide range of sectors; however, it is commonly composed of gaskets and seals, slide bearings, insulators, bushings, washing machines as well as chemical cellular linings for different uses.
CRUCIAL FEATURES: It has a really vast array of temperature levels from -200 ° C to 260 ° C. Highly efficient versus temperature level variations. Extremely immune to chemicals as well as hydrolysis. Exceptional non-stick residential or commercial properties and also outstanding moving homes. The friction coefficient is extremely low. Wetness absorption is almost absolutely no. It is delicate to Gamma Radiation. Ultraviolet immune and food authorized.
2) GLASS FILLED UP PTFE SHEET: Glass filled PTFE sheet is more advanced as well as enhanced contrasted to Virgin PTFE sheets in terms of creep and wear. In order to raise the dimensional stability of the polymer, it is made with 25% glass fibre, this in return reduces the contortion under heavy lots. Glass filled PTFE sheet is an impressive electrical insulator as well as it has fantastic resistance versus chemicals and also corrosion by the results of these chemicals. The only exception for this is hydrofluoric acid. All these materials will certainly offer an enhanced coefficient of friction, however on an other hand, it provides a greater contortion under lots contrasted to carbon filled up PTFE. When boosted product strength with raised resistance to attrition is called for, the first choice is this polymer. The first choice to produce gaskets, pump real estates, valve seats, shaft seals as well as bearings for reduced pressure and also speed values, glass filled PTFE is being utilized.
APPLICATIONS: Glass filled up PTFE sheets are very valuable in many different points. Pump real estates, valve seats, gaskets, filter real estates, shaft seals, shaft bearing, slide joggers, electric insulators, washing machines and seals.
KEY FUNCTIONS: It has a broad temperature range of -260 ° to 260 °. With the exception of some antacids steels and hydrofluoric acid, they are exceptionally excellent chemical resistant against nearly all of the media. When it is compared to conventional PTFE sheets, it has actually much boosted resistance to the chemicals as well as dimensional stability is improved considerably Resistance against low and also heats are extremally high Electric insulation is unmatched Dampness absorption is as reduced as zero.
3) STAINLESS STEEL FILLED PTFE SHEET: Stainless-steel filled PTFE sheets when compared to conventional qualities of PTFE is a high carrying out fluoropolymer that supplies increased mechanical features, improve resistance versus fatigue and considerably greater thermal conductivity. It has a vast operating temperature level, a clas UL94 V-0 rating for Flmmabilit. All this makes it excellent to make use of for food preparation functions. The primary polymer supplied high resistance to chemicals and also with the exception of some alkali metals as well as elemental fluorine. Furthermore, it is capable o dissipating fixed build-up. As the name recommends Stainless-steel is used to fill up the PTFE sheet, it provides the toughness of steel. Therefore, when contrasted to various other PTFE ranges, the stainless-steel option gives improved strength to the sheet, resulting in an improved rate versus the deformation under extra tons. While providing this added toughness, it still has the same coefficient of rubbing as a glass filled PTFE or Bronze Loaded PTFE alternatives. Many thanks to its improved mechanical strength and its FDA and also EC policies, stainless-steel filled up PTFE sheets are the most preferred selection for the food processing market as well as food preparation. For filler functions, the 316L stainless-steel is made use of, and that helps to increase the hardness of the material which in return makes it very simple to the machine.
APPLICATIONS: Thanks to its variety of residential properties it can be used for numerous different applications depending o the type of requirements you have. They are very made use of for Bushing, gaskets, washers, slide pads, shaft bearings, chemical tanks, slide joggers and electrical insulation parts.
KEY ATTRIBUTES: Wide range of temperature from -200 ° C to 260 ° C. The material which is made use of to load is a combination of 50% 316L stainless-steel and also remaining is virgin PTFE . Ability to handle the temperature variant is exceptional. It has a really high quantity resistivity, ie 10 ^ 7 Ohms. It is highly reliable versus the chemicals, very chemical resistant. It is risk-free to use for food preparation functions, there will certainly be no adverse effects if the food will certainly stay in direct touch with it. It is highly machinable.
4) CARBON FILLED PTFE SHEET: When it is compared with conventional qualities of PTFE, Caron filled up PTFE sheet offers a highly boosted dimensional security and thermal epansion coefficient is very low. Against chemicals, it is really efficient. As it is extremely chemical resistant and it is partly electrically conductive and also it offers excellent compression stamina. A carbon loaded PTFE uses enhanced resistance to slip with only 25% full of carbon. When compared to virgin PTFE sheet, it stands more powerful with last longer when compared to fatigue; nevertheless, when compared to various other design plastics such as polyethylene, it regards weak in mechanical strength. Furthermore, when contrasted to glass filled PTFE, carbon filled up PTFE sheets execute much better under hefty tons so lower contortion rate, and friction's coefficient is additionally much better contrasted to glass filled up PTFE sheets Whenever the coefficient of friction is called for to be as low as feasible with dissipation of electrical cost, after that in such scenarios the polymer is the most popular selection amount the entire family members. A shaft bearings, gaskets, pump elements, shaft seals, or various other components which are made use of in electronic applications, are usually machined from Carbon filled up PTFE sheets.
APPLICATIONS: Many thanks to its multi function and rearkable residential or commercial properties, it can be made use of to make gaskets, washers, filter real estates, slide jogger, chemical tank cellular linings, shaft bearings, shaft seals as well as pump as well as tool components. Additionally, it is likewise made use of to construct electric insulation parts.
CRUCIAL ATTRIBUTES: Similar to the earlier three, it has a vast array of functioning temperatures from -200 ° C to 260 ° C. Carbon loaded PTFE sheets are extremely effective against chemicals and also essentially rust totally free versus all the chemicals with an exemption of some alkali metals. Carbon filled PTFE sheets are partly electrically conductive as well as it's anti-static. When compared to typical PTFE qualities, it has much boosted and also higher dimensional stability and also sneaks resistance. It has a greater dynamic bearing efficiency. Furthermore, it has actually enhanced sliding buildings.
5) BRONZE FILLED PTFE SHEETS: When contrasted to typical qualities of PTFE, Bronze loaded PTFE sheets provides much sophisticated dimensional security, greater mechanical homes and also thermal conductivity. The bronze loaded PTFE sheets provide the largest range of working temperature level; Nevertheless, it is likewise the weakest when it involves the resistance versus the chemicals compared to various other PTFE grades available as a result of the filler. The filler material includes 60% of the virgin PTFE and also the continuing to be 40% is a bronze powder, because of this the resulting material offers resistance to use under high compressive tons as well as dissipates fixed as well as warm accumulation when in the application. When it is contrasted to the various other compounds within the very same variety, bronze filled up PTFE sheets are among the densest grades of PTFE out there in the market. It has a really particular gravity of 3.14 g/cm ^ 3. With all this, it also has a similar kinetic coefficient of friction as the glass and also stainless steel choices have. Additionally, contortion of the bronze loaded PTFE sheets are really low under high loads. All this combined makes it the perfect option to utilize as an unlubricated bearing.
APPLICATIONS: Due to their distinct nature, bronze filled PTFE sheets are made use of in a slightly various application than the remainder of the family thus far. One of the most usual uses of bronze filled up PTFE sheets is that they are manufactured into the piston, use rings and bearings. Furthermore, they are additionally made use of when high efficiency shaft bearing is called for. For slide plates as well as gaskets also bronze filled PTFE sheets are being utilized.
KEY FUNCTIONS: Bronze filled up PTFE sheets are likewise having a larger temperature level variety for the functioning problem which is from -200 ° C to 260 ° C. It has a superior ability to take care of reduced and high temperatures. When it is contrasted to various other PTFE sheets, bronze filled up PTFE sheets have the weakest performance against chemical deterioration. It gets easily influenced by some acids as well as alkali steels. Nonetheless, with the weakness versus the chemicals, it features an added stamina as it supplies one of the most enhanced mechanical residential properties and dimensional stability is additionally boosted substantially. It has a volume resistivity of 10 ^ 6 Ohms. This aids to dissipate static build-up. Non-stick as well as sliding homes are exceptionally great. The coefficient of rubbing is very low. Bronze loaded PTFE sheets are supplying great thermal conductivity.
6) SKIVED PTFE SHEETS: The manufacturing process for Skived PTFE Sheets is various compared to various other PTFE sheets we have discussed in this blog site. It is constructed from a thin movie of virgin PTFE sheets with a yellow corrugated lining with self-adhesive silicone. The personnel temperature level for skived PTFE sheets is somewhat much less yet it has extremally reduced co-efficient of friction and also it has the most sophisticated resistance versus the chemicals; nevertheless, it is most frequently used in very heats environments, where normally the temperature level is 260 ° C. It is additionally used as an electric insulator. In scenarios where an instant anti-stick lining is needed, skived PTFE sheets are most frequently get chosen.
APPLICATIONS: Skived PTFE sheets are most generally used for anti-stick linings, bellows, ports and sleeves. Because of its electrical building, it is frequently utilized as a wire covering and also electric insulator.
VITAL FUNCTIONS: When Skived PTFE sheets are compared with other PTFE sheets, it is evident that they have narrower working temperatures range from -73 ° C to 260 ° C. Skived PTFE sheets have very high resistance against the chemicals exemption some alkali metals. Dimensional stability of skived PTFE sheets is incredibly high and sliding buildings are exceptional. Electrical homes are different, as it is an electric insulator. Temperature level resistance is exceptional.
POINTS YOU REQUIRED TO KNOW BEFORE INSTALLING A PTFE LINED BALL SHUTOFFS INTRODUCTION TO PTFE LINED SPHERE VALVE: The fundamental building for Lined Round Valves consists of body, stem, round, seat and also cellular lining. Sphere Valves are created in a manner that their inside is covered with high-end PTFE or PFA lining material. As well as many thanks to this lining process the valve gets its thickness, which in return shields the valve against deterioration as well as any kind of possible damages because of chemical reactions. Because of this, they have actually emerged as one of the most popular choice for nasty applications. The PTFE Round Valves or Sphere Valves are generally called the Shut down shutoff out there and sector. As several brand names are making them in such a way that they obtain free-floating for their round shutoffs. That leads to a positive shut-off for various series of stress. This simple layout responsible for its outstanding turned off capacity is also in charge of its inability to manage the circulation. This means when you need to maintain the regulated flow for the media you can not control it. It can either be just on with minimum barriers or it will totally shut the circulation.
THE SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES IN BETWEEN AN UNLINED SPHERE VALVE AND A LINED SPHERE VALVE IS EXPLAINED BELOW: As one can see from the name of both Shutoffs, it is very easy to inform that both of them deal with the exact same concept; Nevertheless, a Lined Ball Valve is a lot more pocket-friendly than an un-lined Round Shutoff, as they are very durable versus deterioration. Therefore, a lined round shutoff is a lot more frequently utilized when the product is chemical which can harm the shutoff, a lined Ball Valves are a lot more dependable as well as durable. One of the very best functions of a lined round shutoff is that you can set it up in either instructions, devoid of the direction of the circulation. This makes it excellent for automation. Thanks to its ISO 5211 global placing pad, they work splendidly in automation as it will certainly let the flow go through the pipelines even in its existence. In order, to raise the safety parameter, the stem style is design in such a way that it obtains an anti burn out function. Additionally, it has its very own anti-static device to guarantee defense against electrostatic discharges. The listing of benefits does not end right here: Among the crucial advantages that will certainly make a great deal of drivers delighted is that its pneumatic actuators can conveniently be constructed in manufacturing facilities. Thanks to their lining materials, these are extremely resistant to the chemicals in circulation. As we are utilizing top quality material for the lining procedure, it has high durability. Additionally, it additionally assists to enhance thermal resistance. A good PTFE Lined Round Valves might have extremely high restrictions for operating temperature level for the linings. Ie. PFA to 400 ° F and FEP to 300 ° F. The exact same material which supplies its high durability versus temperature also assists the valve to boost its ability to work under high stress. Ie 10 Bar.

Fire Emblem Fates Unit Review
Fire Emblem Fates Unit Review
The following is a guide discussing the strengths, weaknesses and general usefulness of playable units in Fire Emblem Fates. Fates is an immense game, broken into three separate campaigns: Birthright, Conquest and Revelation. For convenience’s sake, units that appear in all paths will be mentioned initially in Birthright in terms of their strengths, and later if the different challenges will make a significant difference.
   Birthright
Avatar (Corrin): You have ample time to grind and accumulate wealth in Birthright, meaning you can experiment with your Avatar. Generally, Hoshido units are not very mobile (unless Pegasus Knight) and tend to forgo Defense and Resistance in favor of speedy, brutal attacks. Magic units are in short supply, as are Defensive tanks. Corrin can fill these roles wonderfully, as s/he can choose classes from either Nohr or Hoshido. As for the stat spread, Corrin is more balanced than Robin was in Awakening, exceling in the boon stat while faltering in the flaw and being pretty decent in everything else.
Felicia: If Corrin is male, you get maid waifu 1. Felicia is the magic-oriented Maid/Butler unit, and hence establishes herself as the earliest healer in the route. Her ability to attack, weak as her attack may be, allows her to immediately overshadow Sakura and Azama. Her strength is low, but with the Flame Shuriken she can do a lot of damage in the late game, especially to slow, armored Nohrian units. Her big problem in Birthright, however, is that she is a shuriken/dagger user and the player is showered with units that use those weapons. Still, she’s pretty good in terms of magic attack and healing, and can really resolve some sticky situations in the early and late game alike.
Jakob: If Corrin is female, you get Jakob. There is no reason to use Jakob in Birthright, unless you are insistent that your dagger user be able to heal. Felicia excelled because she healed well, Jakob doesn’t. He’s strictly a physical attacker, and hence faces extreme competition from the Ninja units Hoshido provides. I’d recommend all other dagger users before Jakob in this route.
Kaze: And speaking of dagger users. Kaze is the fastest Ninja and one of the fastest units in the game. With an 85% growth rate in speed, Kaze will begin doubling enemies and never stop. His Skill is high, meaning he can Crit often, and his Resistance is also surprisingly decent, giving him some defense from magic users. Kaze’s big drawbacks are his bad Defense and Luck. So if he gets it by a physical attack, largely from a bow or axe, he’ll die. Kaze also has the benefit, in Birthright, of joining early on and remaining with Corrin. Reach at least an A-level support before mission 15.
Rinkah: Oh dear…It’s a shame, cause I like Rinkah’s design. I like how she has fire around her weapon when she attacks. I also like that she uses clubs/axes. In fact, she’s one of two natural axe/club users in Birthright. However, her stats are a train wreck. She has great Defense, but atrocious HP, allowing her to get worn down by physical attacks and outright destroyed by magical ones. She has Speed but no Strength to do damage. She has Skill to crit but no Luck so crits’ll also hit her. If you really want an axe user in the Hoshido route than Rinkah can work with lots of time, attention and investment, but otherwise she’s the definition of a below average unit.
Azura: A dancer unit. In Conquest I would recommend reclassing her immediately into a Pegasus Knight, but Azura is able to excel as a Dancer here. Her growths in Speed and Skill are fantastic and her growths in Luck and Strength are good. Her growths in Defense and Resistance are terrible, but hey, she’s a dancer. She can level up relatively easily by dancing, but her weapon level has a max of C as a Songstress, so you may want to reclass her eventually. Otherwise, she’s a surprisingly powerful dancer that can hit hard in addition to supporting allies.
Sakura: The general rule is to use all the nobles in whatever route. Sakura in Birthright is the one exception. Here she is optional, especially if Felicia is present. While her promotions to Onmyogi (Sage) and Shrine Priestess (Bow/Healing) give her excellent skills (particularly the Shrine Priestess), she ultimately is dead weight. Dead, defenseless weight until the promotion occurs, whereas Felicia is quite capable of defending herself. If you do use her, which is still encouraged if not mandatory, you’ll find her a very competent healer with great potential for Magic and Luck growth.
Hana: Hana is your generic Myrmidon. Hana has high Speed and Skill, along with reliably high Strength growth, allowing her to pack a punch. However, her HP is quite low, as are her defense. She and Azura are probably the two units that most require a Seraph Robe to shore up weaknesses. Aside from that, if you liked units like Lon’qu in Awakening, Joshua in Sacred Stones, Fir in Binding Blade, and/or Guy in Blazing Blade, you’ll probably like Hana.
Subaki: Your first Pegasus Knight…sorry, Sky Knight (I’ll call it Pegasus Knight), Subaki begins a cycle that Fates has of breaking traditional class expectations. In Awakening, for example, one could expect some minor differences in roles between, say, Lon’qu and Say’ri, the two swordmasters, but they still performed the same job of fast, skilled attacker. Here, Subaki sets a new precedent as being a slow, bulky Pegasus Knight, as opposed to fast and frail. Granted, Archers will still ruin his day, but less so than others, especially if he is given a Guard Lance…sorry, Guard Naginata to improve his Defense and Resistance. This being said, I hate Subaki. Enemies will double him constantly, necessitating attention from healers. Non-mounted units in the route can defend much better than he, with the same weapons and without the weaknesses. I don’t recommend Subaki from a practical standpoint, even if he is interesting from a theoretical standpoint.
Silas: I am biased against Silas. He’s never worked for me as a unit. I think it’s because he’s pretty slow. But here, he’s the only cavalier you’re getting. The only horse-mounted unit you’re getting. So learn to like him. He’s pretty okay in everything, and all-in-all will amount to one of the better non-royal units on the roster. His access to the Luna skill is helpful, and can be passed to his children later. The new support benefits from Paladins are also helpful, and Silas benefits from Hoshidan Units’ speed boosting capabilities. He also starts with great weapon ranks and can save you from early game issues.
Saizo: Ninja Number Two, Saizo is the more skilled of the three you’ll receive here. He has a high (80%) growth rate in skill, with average growths everywhere else. Saizo will likely stay relevant and balanced throughout the game, landing crits and taking hits. I don’t not recommend him, but I do recommend Kaze and Kagero over him, as Kaze arrives earlier and Kagero has greater offensive potential and can punch through armor in the late game. Saizo’s personal skill, Pyrotechnics, is risky but gives some helpful extra damage if you’re in a tough pinch.
Orochi: Like axe units, magic units are hard to come by in the Hoshido route. Orochi is probably as good as you’re going to get without promoting or reclassing somebody. She’s got fantastic Magic growth, nice Skill and adequate Resistance, allowing her to unleash magical hell on enemies. It should be noted that her HP and Defense are abysmally bad, though, and she will die if hit by a physical attack. To make matters worse, she has a surprisingly low Speed growth for a Hoshidan unit (30% growth rate), so if she doesn’t kill an enemy in her first attack she’ll be left without a counter, vulnerable. Consider putting her behind a defensive frontline unit.
Mozu: Mozu is not good. Unlike Donnel in Awakening, where he could grow and continue to acquire stats, Mozu has a drop off, leaving her at about the same point as the other units in your army. As a result, Mozu is not worth the grinding. She can turn out to be an okay apothecary and/or archer, but aside from that she’s pretty bad.
Hinoka: Deviating from Subaki, Hinoka is a return to normalcy for the Pegasus Knight class. She excels in Speed, Skill, Luck and Resistance, with her only real flaws being her Defense, Magic and HP. While promoting to Kinshi Knight gives Hinoka access to another offensive weapon, I urge sticking with the Falcon Knight. It fits her stat growths better. Hinoka is likely one of the better units in the route, and will serve as your de facto magic tank.
Setsuna: I love Setsuna. Not in terms of stats. Heavens no. She’s mediocre there, at best. I like her support conversations. They’re amusing. In terms of her performance as a unit, she’s functional but not great. You’ll get Takumi soon, who will outclass her in every category save for Speed and perhaps Resistance. She dodges pretty reliably and heals well thanks to her personal skill. She’s more a compliment to Takumi then a replacement for him, picking off leftovers from afar.
Azama: I feel bad for Azama. Clearly, he is another “break-the-mold” unit like Subaki, as he is a Monk (healer) designed for physical combat that has to wait until he promotes to start fighting. I found his personal skill, while interesting, to largely be useless, as putting him on the frontlines without a weapon will result in him getting killed far more often than it will result in him countering. If you’re willing to work on him, Azama can be a strong Great Master that can also heal competently enough, but at that point either Sakura or Felicia already have a couple of levels under their belts.
Hayato: ugh… Your alternative to Orochi blows. Even with training he’s just outclassed, and has trouble OHKOing enemies. Hell, he has trouble ORKOing enemies. Rend Heaven is a good skill available to Basara, and he can get a bit of strength, but he’s not worth it.
Oboro: The Hoshido equivalent of a Knight, the Spear Fighter Oboro is pretty well-rounded, faltering only in her Resistance (and magic, but we’re not here for that). Her personal is useful throughout the route, and she has the ability to reach S rank with spears and use the legendary Waterwheel towards the end of the game. Seal Defense also helps soften up enemies for other units to pick them off, and as a Spear Master she gains access to Seal Speed, essentially making it so that anything faster/bulkier than her won’t be after battle. Overall, Oboro may not be as defensive as a Knight, but she excels in her own regard and is worth a look.
Hinata: Like Subaki, Hinata takes a traditionally frail class and tries to make it bulky. Again, I find Hinata lacking. He goes to the gym a lot, as apparent by his buff biceps, and can consequently take hits and trade blows with powerful enemy units. But this is not a job I go to a sword user for. Especially not a Myrmidon. Sorry, especially not a Samurai. For reclassing, Master at Arms provides him wonderful coverage, as he has access to swords, clubs, and lances in the role, and the class plays to his natural growths and strengths.
Takumi: I really want to hate Takumi. His sprite looks awful, he has a pineapple for hair and his personality make me want to smash his face in with a piece of bent rebar. But, as a royal with a unique weapon that allows him to ignore terrain costs coupled with remarkable skill growth, Takumi is a fantastic unit. For some reason, whenever I use him, he gets more critical hits than any other unit in all three routes. The Fujin Yumi is a remarkable weapon that allows him to avoid those petty weapon debuffs from steel and silver bows while imparting a free skill onto him. He has solid mobility, moving through forests effortlessly, meaning he can hit enemies that believe they’re safe. Overall, not using Takumi would be a great loss for your team.
Kagero: I like Kagero best of all the Ninja options. She does face competition, but will have the greatest offensive potential of the Ninjas, exceling in Strength and Speed, allowing her to double and deal strong damage. Her Resistance is nothing to gawk at either. As a Master Ninja, her access to Swords improves her coverage and allows her to cover her green weapon weakness. Just be wary of physical damage.
Reina: Yeah she’s pretty good. But she’s not good because of her class. Christ, the Kinshi Knight class is trash, with trashy skills and trashy stat spreads. Incredible reach with flight and bows, but just bad everywhere else. Reina’s big strength is her personal skill, which restores 20% of her HP on killing an enemy. This is ridiculously good. It allows her to almost always be on the offensive. While her growths aren’t spectacular, they’re not abysmal for a pre-promoted unit joining nearly halfway through the route. She’s fast and strong and recovers readily, so there’s that. Very few supports though.
Kaden: The first beast unit (basically a Taguel) you will encounter if playing through Fates in the recommended order, Kaden’s pretty nice. His stat growths are solid all around, save for Magic. Particularly, he has good Strength, Speed, Luck and Resistance, meaning he can dodge and double for a lot of damage. His bonus damage against beasts is helpful for the legions of horse-mounted Nohrian units in the route. While I’m still a bit biased against using beast units, Kaden is probably one of the better options for non-royal units in this route.
Ryoma: If you choose to bench Ryoma then you should not be permitted to play these games. Ryoma is fantastic, with a unique weapon that can function up close or from afar, outstanding Strength, HP, Skill, Luck, and Speed growths, and a join point one level away from getting the Astra skill. Ryoma can handle every enemy in the game, and can probably do so without getting hit once. Holding him back a bit to allow other units the opportunity to level up may not be a bad idea, but eventually Ryoma will end up on your frontlines.
Scarlet: Oh damn, here comes Camilla’s only competition. Scarlet is badass, even though she starts pre-promoted. She is a Wyvern Lord, a flying physical tank that packs a punch, but can easily function as a Malig Knight if reclassed. As a Wyvern Lord, she is a strong frontline unit that can alternate between buffing allied Defense and striking enemies with Lunge/Swordbreaker. As a Malig Knight, she can chip away at enemies with Savage blow and annihilate anything without a mount. While she performs better as a Wyern Lord, the Malig Knight should be considered at least for its skills.
Yukimura: Yukimura is probably the only decent Mechanist in the game. He is only obtainable in the Birthright route, after a level 3 Puppet Box has been constructed in your castle, and he will join at around mission 23. Because of this, he is immediately outclassed by whatever Ninja(s) you chose to use. He’s more of a support unit, with a personal skill that boosts all allied hit rates. He also has the Apothecary base class skills, which allows him to utilize tonics and potions better than others. His Replicate skill is also interesting. Overall, Yukimura can be decent, especially if you’re in need of replacements, but won’t perform to the same standards of promoted units that have been with you for 15-some missions by this point.
Izana: Izana joins after a level 3 Hot Spings has been built, around mission 23. He’s a good mage, a traditional glass cannon Sage. Is far better than Hayato. Whether he’s better than Orochi depends on preference. Orochi will be better trained by this point, but will still likely be slower than Izana.
Shura: Bad. Avoid. He’s fast and has good Resistance, and his personal skill means he can do some damage against squishy enemies that can’t fight back. Aside from that, he’s outclassed by other units you’ve trained by this point. Can’t recommend.
Child Units in Order of Paralogue: Like in Awakening, child units are available, and their stats are dependent upon who their parent units are. Generally, while child units are functional, they’re seldom as good as they were in Awakening, where they could inherit the world and grow endlessly. Here they’ll end up being about the same as parent units. Their benefits come in three forms: (1) they are available far earlier than they were in Awakening, (2) they can fill any role if built properly, (3) provide extra missions that yield new unit replacements, money and experience, all of which are vital, primarily in the Conquest route. It should also be noted that while children were descended from Mothers in Awakening, here they are descended from fathers. In addition, the difficulty of the missions scale with how late they are accessed. If you play a paralogue late in the game, the recruitable units will start with an offspring seal, allowing them to remain relevant without excessive grinding.
Kana (Corrin’s Child): Like Morgan in Awakening, I have no way to quantifying how good this unit can be. Basically, the strengths and weaknesses of your Avatar.
Shigure (Azura’s Child): In Birthright, it’s easy for Shigure to get lost in the storm by the various other Sky Knights available. He inherits Azura’s Songstress skills, which give him support utility. Aside from that, he’s generally a bit slower than other Sky Knights, unless his father has speed growths, but excels in Strength and Skill growths.
Dwyer (Jakob’s Child): A male Troubadour, Dwyer is a bit odd, as he doesn’t really fit that role. He has good Strength growth naturally, like his father, implying that he should be reclassed to Butler at the earliest possible convenience. With the proper mother, he can perform well as a strategist, but will not outclass other healers or magic users in the route. Of all the child units, I generally recruit Dwyer the least, as I’m not a fan of him or his father.
Sophie (Silas’ Child): Sophie! She’s basically female Silas. Skilled and Strong and Speedy. A mother can help all of these stats. She starts out as a Cavalier like Silas, so consider a mother that can pass on some new skills. Her personal is pretty nifty, lower enemy defense upon initiating attacks. Like Silas, her utility comes from her reliability. She’s a generic Cavalier, nothing better, nothing worse.
Midori (Kaze’s Child): Midori is the only Apothecary unit in the game you receive, meaning that she’s an archer with the ability to make use of tonics, salves and potions and can promote into the Merchant and/or Mechanist class. This alone can perhaps justify her use, as she is a unique support unit. Aside from that, her stats aren’t spectacular. She can survive a magic attack and is fast, but she won’t exactly be decimating enemy lines.
Shiro (Ryoma’s Child): Shiro is lucky in being a different class than his father, Ryoma, meaning he’ll be able to inherit Samurai/Swordmaster skills while learning Spear Fight skills. He won’t challenge his father, but is okay in his own right. Seal Defense is a great skill to have, turning him into a viable frontline tank. He’s fast and skilled and his mother can help patch some of his less than spectacular stat growth rates. If you want a Basara than can actually make use of both Scrolls and Naginata, consider Orochi for a mother, as Shiro’s Magic growth rate will be kind of decent in this scenario.
Kiragi (Takumi’s Child): Being an archer child unit, Kiragi is largely rendered vestigial by this point in the game. Takumi is better. Setsuna is better. He inherits no new skills from Takumi and learns no new skills from his class line. Consider a mother carefully, as she will consider his vital stat growths and skills.
Asugi (Saizo’s Child): Asugi is part of Fates’ ploy to save money by not having the designer develop new sprites. Asugi is identical to Gaius from Awakening in terms of appearance and personality. His personal skill is interesting, allowing him to use Wait in order to regenerate health. He also has surprising magic growth. Aside from that, he’s a balanced Ninja. Regardless of inherited skills and stat spread, he’ll face a lot of competition from the other three Ninja in the game.
Selkie (Kaden’s Child): Selkie is Kaden. In her base from, her stat growths are identical to Kaden’s. He mother’s stat growths are vital here, as are her skills, as Selkie follows down the Taguel/Nine-tails path. She can dodge efficiently, and her personal skill, which damages adjacent enemies, means she can get surrounded without much alarm. Overall, she’s a solid child unit, but Kaden will likely be better trained by this point if you chose to use him.
Hisame (Hinata’s Child): Unlike his father, Hisame is a more typical Samurai class, exceling in Strength, Speed and Skill. His HP growth is also pretty good, placing him above his father in my opinion. Still, he faces a lot of competition from his father, Hana, and Ryoma, all of whom perform specific roles better than Hisame does. Hisame is moreso a generic Swordmaster, and henceforth is likely to fade into white noise.
Mitama (Azama’s Child): If you enjoy Japanese culture, Mitama will at the very least amuse. She’s a far better healer than her father, and can perform well as an Onmyogi or a Shrine Priestess. She’s an excellent replacement for Sakura if Sakura is dead or benched. Her personal skill requires odd unit placement, but can be an excellent help when pulled off correctly. Overall, I think Mitama is okay, and can give Sakura some fierce competition.
Caledori (Subaki’s Child): Unlike Cordelia in Awakening, Caledori is not best girl. She’s a generic Sky Knight, save for her low Resistance growths, doing what generic Sky Knights do. I don’t recommend her. Hinoka is a better Sky Knight. Azura is a better Sky Knight. Shigure is a better Sky Knight.
Rhajat (Hayato’s Child): FINALLY, a good magic unit in this fucking route. Rhajat has outstanding magic and speed, allowing her to double enemies for swathes of damage. Her big drawbacks, however, come from her bad stat spread everywhere else and the fact that she likely won’t inherit many skills from her parents. Like Laurent from Awakening, Rhajat performs best as a pure mage, nuking anything that gets in her paths. Mothers should be able to impart skill or shore up her low defenses. Aside from that, Rhajat will easily establish herself as the most useful magic users in the route, and one of the best child units available.
   Conquest
Avatar (Corrin): Unlike Birthright, experience and money are limited. This means that Corrin will have to pull double-duty, especially in the early game when units are scarce and unreliable. I recommend pouring whatever you can into Strength, Magic, or Speed and building him/her from that base. Gather experience with him early and lessen his utility in the mid-game to allow other units to catch up. By the endgame, however, Corrin should be able to deal with most threats, and possess decent weapon proficiency in whatever class s/he chooses to pursue.
Felicia: If Corrin is male, you get Felicia. She performs largely the same role as she did in Birthright, a strong early-game healer with excellent magic and the ability to use the Flame Shurkien better than other dagger users. However, while in Birthright Felicia faced competition from other dagger/shuriken users, here she faces competition from other healers/Magic users, namely Elise, who joins around the same time as she does. That being said, Felicia can remain relevant throughout, as dagger/shuriken units are more rare in the Conquest route.
Jakob: If Corrin is female, you get Jakob. Jakob has far more utility here than he does in Birthright, where he was gradually outclassed by Ninjas. Since there are few offensive-oriented dagger users, Jakob is valuable early as a ranged offensive force that can debuff any enemies he can’t kill. That being said, he does face a drop-off in the mid game, but can overcome it with proper training.
Silas: Remember when Silas joined in the first mission of Birthright with really good weapon proficiency, equipment and virtually no competition? Welcome to Conquest, where he joins with garbage weapon proficiency, bad equipment, and lots of competition. Still, Silas is useful. He performs the cavalier role well, and more time to train him allows him to perform more roles on certain teams. His main competition comes from Xander, who joins much later but is better on practically all fronts. In general though, if you enjoyed using Silas in other routes you’ll enjoy using him here.
Elise: Unlike Sakura, Elise starts off relevant and remains as such. There is a much greater emphasis on debuffing staffs in Conquest, since dagger users are scarce. Elise starts with a Freeze staff and the ability to use it, meaning she can stop enemies in their tracks to allow allies to reposition, heal, or commence an offensive movement. Upon promotion to Strategist, Elise becomes one of the strongest attackers on your team, as her high Speed and Magic growth allows her to double and decimate any enemies in her path. Her fantastic Luck also allows her to dodge incoming attacks, making her one of the few proficient dodgers in the route. Overall, you must use Elise, as a better healer will not present itself.
Effie: God damn Effie is good. She’s a Knight, with low movement and high Defense and HP. What’s odd about Effie though is that she also has solid Speed and Skill growth, as well as phenomenal Strength growth. This means that she will likely become the indestructible scion of death that leads charges. She is weak to magic, so avoid mages if possible. As for promotion, the General emphasizes Defense, but the Great Knight provides the Luna skill and gives her great mobility. Regardless, of the two Knights you receive, I think Effie is better, arriving earlier and ultimately yielding better results.
Arthur: Arthur’s greatest flaw is that he has no Luck. Literally, no Luck whatsoever. A start of 1 Luck with a growth rate of 10% means he will get hit by enemies frequently. Thankfully, he has good growths in Defense and HP, and excels in Strength and Skill, meaning he can hit hard. When he does hit, it’s devastating. But with the low hit rate of axes and his low luck, Arthur’s usefulness depends on how lucky the player is, ironically. My general rule for Arthur is not to rely on him to clinch a battle. Never use him to initiate an attack or hold off an enemy unless you have another unit that can more reliably fill the role if Arthur falters.
Mozu: While it is arguably easier to train her in the port mission where enemies come to you, allowing you to weaken them and pick them off with Mozu, Mozu is still quite bad. Unless you really want a Kinshi Knight (for whatever reason) I’d immediately bench Mozu.
Odin: Yeah, Owain’s back. Unfortunately he’s not great in Fates like he was in Awakening. Here, Odin is crying out for a Myrmidon class he simply doesn’t have. Sure, you can reclass him, but Heart Seals are expensive, especially in the Conquest route and that means training him in an entirely new weapon. He is more useful in Conquest than he is in Revelation, as Conquest provides many Spirit Dusts, items that raise magic, which can be used to turn Odin into a nuke-level mage. His stats are balanced all around, meaning he can perform a bit better as a Dark Knight than a Sorcerer in my opinion. But it’s up to you. I find him to be the more reliable non-royal magic user in the route. My recommendation is to craft him a Mjolnir spell that fills the parameters of his personal, as it will allow him to crit many enemies for massive damage.
Niles: Niles is the Mage-killer. He has excellent Resistance, meaning that magic attacks will do almost nothing to him. He’s also fast and has a decent Skill growth rate. Where Niles fails is in his ability to actually deliver killing blows. His strength is low and will remain that way, leading to frustrations in the mid and late game. He has the ability to open chests, however, and can perform well in both the Adventurer and Bow Knight classes. As an Adventurer, he excels in his Resistance, Speed and Skill, becoming a deadly bow user when facing mages. The Bow Knight fixes some of his flaws, and gives access to the Shurikenbreaker skill, which will be vital in the late game when you are assaulted by waves of Ninja.
Azura: Azura returns but she isn’t nearly as useful as a Songstress in Conquest as she is in Birthright. It’s much easier for units to fall behind in this route, meaning that only units that are inherently strong or units that the player invests in constantly will remain relevant. If you want to use Azura, I recommend reclassing her to a Sky Knight using a Heart Seal as early as you can. You get no Sky Knights in this route unless you reclass Azura or Selena, so Azura can fill this roll much better than that of Songstress.
Nyx: Nyx has an outstanding 70% growth in Magic, 60% growth in Speed, a solid 40% growth in Resistance, and garbage growths everywhere else. She is a glass cannon, remarkably powerful but with absolutely no defenses. Regardless, Nyx does serve an interesting role. In Birthright, you may have noticed that units seemed to have good Attack and Speed, in lieu of Defense. In Conquest, units tend to be more focused on Attack and Defense, sacrificing Speed. Nyx breaks this mold, functioning like a Hoshido unit and shaving away enemies with quick, powerful assaults. I recommend either her or Odin. Avoid the Dark Knight promotion.
Camilla: In my opinion, Camilla is tied for the spot of best unit in this route with Xander. Starting promoted at level 1, the player has plenty of time to train Camilla, and thankfully she has solid growths all around, except for Luck. Access to both axes and tomes gives her spectacular offensive coverage, and her personal skill provides adjacent allies with +3 damage dealt and -1 damage taken. Her mobility coupled with tomes gives her spectacular reach, and she is the unit that can best utilize a Bolt Axe in this route. Savage Blow allows her to chip away health at tanky enemy units, and Trample gives her a bonus against most enemy units in the route. In short, use Camilla as she is as good as it gets in Conquest.
Selena: Selena is fast. She has good Speed and Defense growth and is competent in Strength and Skill. She’s the second fastest unit in the route, placing her in a good position. As a Mercenary, she can play either the role of frontline tank or frontline support. As a Hero, she gains the Sol skill for recovery and gains access to axes, giving her good defensive and offensive coverage. As a Bow Knight, she gains access to the bow and the Shurkienbreaker skill that is useful for the late game, but gains a mounted weakness. Selena can function well as both, but I prefer her as a Hero, as I find she works better with higher Defense.
Beruka: It should be noted that Beruka will not outclass Camilla. Dispense with any notions like that immediately. Rather, Beruka fills the role of Wyvern Lord, with everything that entails. She has good HP, Skill, Luck and Defense growth and can rally her ally’s defense upon promotion to Wyvern Lord. She has poor magic growth, so using her permanently as a Malig Knight is not advised. Rather, I recommend grabbing at least the Savage Blow skill from the Malig Knight route (possibly Trample if you want it), then reclassing to Wyvern Lord for the late game.
Kaze: Kaze is the only Ninja you receive in Conquest and the fastest unit in the route. He also faces far less competition for the role of shuriken/dagger user here, allowing him to carve out a niche in any Conquest team. He does have fairly low Strength, so investing an Energy Drop or two into him may pay off in the long run.
Peri: Niles is the mage killer, Peri is the mage blocker. She has surprisingly good Resistance growths that only improve with a promotion to Paladin. She also has great Strength and Speed growths, and solid growths everywhere else with the exception of Magic and possibly Defense. I recommend using either her or Niles, as while mages aren’t everywhere, they will give you trouble later in the game if you don’t have a unit with good Resistance that can remove them.
Laslow: Yep. He’s a Mercenary. Laslow has good Strength, Skill and Luck and is designed to pick off enemies or support allies. I like Selena better. Laslow makes a good hero. Bow Knight allows him to Rally Skill and turn allies into offensive behemoths. He’s versatile I suppose.
Benny: Effie = Offense. Benny = Defense. As a General, Benny has 75% growth in HP and Defense, 65% growth in Skill, 60% growth in Strength, and 50% growth in Resistance. The tradeoff is that he has 10% growth in speed, but he doesn’t need it. If you want a unit that simply will not die from a physical attack, use Benny.
Charlotte: Charlotte makes a better Berserker than Arthur does, as it plays more to her inherent stat growths. Like Benny, here are her outstanding stat growths as a Berserker: 95% growth in HP, 80% growth in Strength, 50% growth in Skill, and 65% growth in Speed. However, Charlotte has two main drawbacks. The first comes from her level at the time of her join. Where Benny joins at level 15, Charlotte joins at 10, meaning she will need more attention to remain relevant. The second is that her Luck isn’t spectacular and her Defense and Resistance are crap. If she is hit, which will happen, it’s likely she will lose ½-3/4 of her health. She’ll likely die if doubled. If hit by a mage, she’ll probably die upon the first hit. Oh, and that low Luck mean’s she’ll miss a lot. Not as much as Arthur, but enough for you to notice. I prefer Arthur to Charlotte. Since axe users are plentiful in Conquest, you won’t lose much benching Charlotte either.
Leo: Leo is pretty good. He excels in Magic and HP, and is balanced everywhere else. He’s a solid and mobile frontline magic user. He has access to swords and a bit of strength to use them somewhat effectively. His unique tome, Brynhildr, gives him a boost to Critical hit evasion and has the possibility of halving magic damage. I consider him the least useful of the Nohr nobles, but he’s still eons ahead of non-royal units in this route.
Keaton: Like Kaden, Keaton is typical of the stat spread of Nohrian units. He has good Defense and spectacular Strength and HP (80%). He jut won’t be dodging much. He gets a bonus against mounted and beast units (not overly useful in Conquest) and proves to be a solid frontline attacker. I recommend Keaton here more than I do Kaden in Birthright.
Gunter: Oh, Gunter! His growths are garbage. Though he does join at the midway point in the group with stats allowing him to slot into your team at that point. His personal makes him an exceptional support for Corrin. Aside from that, while he’s not spectacular like Xander is, Gunter can be a solid support Great Knight, boosting Corrin’s stats and mopping up weakened enemies.
Xander: Xander is the other candidate for best unit in Conquest. He has very high Luck growths, allowing him to dodge readily and compensates for his shoddy Resistance. Any physical attack he takes he can normally shrug off. His Strength, HP and Skill are also quite good. His Paladin skills compliment his role as physical tank quite well. He does appear late in the game, but doesn’t suffer for it. Of course, his unique weapon gives him 10 Dodge and 4 Defense, in addition to allowing him to strike up closer and from afar.
Shura: Same here as he was in Birthright, just coming much earlier. In the short run, Shura is useful. In the long run, Niles will outclass him as an Adventurer. If you kill Shura you get a Boots item, which increases movement and could be more useful depending upon personal preference. I don’t recommend using Shura, but I hold that opinion in Birthright, Conquest and Revelation alike.
Flora: Maid waifu 2 joins after constructing a level 3 magic turret in your castle. She’s alright. If you need a replacement for Felicia or Jakob, Flora can fill the role. She’s the more balanced of the two, exceling only in Skill. She starts at level 5, but has a B rank in both Daggers and Staffs. So she makes a solid support unit. Her personal skill causes enemies to think twice about attacking her from range. If she didn’t come so late (around chapter 21), she’d probably be great.
Izana: If Odin or Nyx have died or been benched, Izana may fill the void, but I wouldn’t recommend it. He joins around chapter 21 after a level 3 hot springs has been built, and faces far more competition for the role of Sage in Conquest then he does in Birthright.
Child Units: For convenience, I will not recount the stats/strengths/weaknesses of child units that are available in both Birthright and Conquests, but rather just access their usefulness in this route. While child units aren’t particularly more useful here than they are in Birthright, they provide access to valuable experience and gold. I recommend playing through as many paralogues as you possibly can, as the experience, items, gold and units you receive will help weaker units remain relevant in the late game. Also, plan out your S support and achieve them early so more units can take part in the paralogues and gain experience.
Kana (Corrin’s Child): Impossible to assess due to variation. If you need another Corrin, Kana could be good. Otherwise don’t bother.
Shigure (Azura’s Child): While he faces less competition here, Shigure is still outclassed as a Sky Knight by both his mother and a properly reclassed Selena. Still, he’s useful if Azura has remained a Songstress and Selena a Hero/Bow Knight. He’s the only natural Sky Knight you’ll receive here.
Dwyer (Jakob’s Child): Elise makes a better Strategist, Felicia/Jakob/Flora make better Maids/Butlers. Skip.
Sophie (Silas’ Child): Sophie faces far more competition here, from Silas, Peri, Gunter and Xander. Her use will rely on her mother’s stat growths, allowing her to be tailored to what a player wants in a Cavalier. Not the most useful child unit, but not the least useful either.
Midori (Kaze’s Child): As she was in Birthright, as she is in Conquest, Midori is lucky but little else. She can use tonics and salves well. I recommend playing through her paralogue for at least the Dragon Herbs, which give +1 to all stats of a single unit.
Siegbert (Xander’s Child): I don’t like Siegbert. I think a lot of it is his character design. Another part of it is his personality. The last part of it is that his stats are kind of meh…he doesn’t do anything particularly well and any (literally any) of the other cavalier options are better than he is.
Forrest (Leo’s Child): Forrest is Elise’s only real competition for the Strategist class. He’s solid at all things magic, but will likely sustain more damage than Elise, as he has a lower luck stat. He’s also considerably slower, meaning that his mother should contribute Speed growths of some kind. His big draw is that he has slightly better Resistance than Elise does, but it hardly matters.
Ignatius (Benny’s Child): Ignatius is a bit faster than Benny, but otherwise is vastly inferior to him. He’s a better Great Knight, but units like Effie, Peri and Silas vastly outclass Ignatius in this role. Perhaps he can be salvaged with the proper mother and stat spread, but otherwise I can’t recommend too highly.
Velouria (Keaton’s Child): Velouria’s utility depends largely on her mother’s inheritance. At a base level, she fills largely the same roll as Keaton. Her mother’s stat inheritance can patch up her weaknesses, largely her slow speed, or to buff her good Strength and HP.
Percy (Arthur’s Child): Percy is likely the best child unit in Conquest. Unlike his father, Percy has remarkably high Luck, (75% growth rate), meaning he’ll dodge often and hit reliably. He also has solid Defense, Skill and Speed. As a Wyvern Knight, he has two great reclassing options, the Malig Knight for fantastic skills and possibly tomes depending on his mother’s stat growths, and Wyvern Lord his plays more to his strengths.
Ophelia (Odin’s Child): Ophelia’s Strength, Defense and Resistance are subpar, but she’s competent everywhere else. Consider a mother with Magic, Skill or Speed growths. She comes with a unique weapon, the Misseltainn, which increase her Skill and Resistance. Her personal skill is easy to activate, as it only requires three or more tomes in her inventory to impart +10 critical hit rate. Overall, I think she’s pretty solid compared to the other child units, but will face competition from the many tome users you likely already have trained up.
Soleil (Laslow’s Child): I like Soleil. Like Laslow, she’s got good Skill and Strength potential, but is less competent in terms of HP. A mother that can impart Speed growths will turn Soleil into a fantastic Bow Knight, especially when she gets Shurikenbreaker. Overall, avoid taking hits with Soleil and she’ll prove to be a capable offensive force.
Nina (Niles’ Child): Nina can make best use of staffs of all the Adventurers available, especially with the proper mother. Like Niles, she has fantastic Speed, and her Resistance growths are solid. She also has balanced Luck and Strength, meaning that with the right mother she can excel in these areas (perhaps Effie?).
Revelation: Instead of stat descriptions, all of these units have already been reviewed. Here I will simply assess their usefulness in the Revelation route. I will not review child units again, as any of them can preserve their usefulness from previous routes due to Offspring seals.
Avatar (Corrin): In Reveltion, you receive anywhere between 65-70 units from the combination of Birthright, Conquest, one or two unique from Revelation, and possibly a few from DLC. Therefore, it is easy for units to get lost amongst the chaos. I recommend using all of the royals, as they will all perform better then non-royal units regardless of their join time or level. The fact that you’ve likely experienced using these units ought to give you some idea of the role you want Corrin to fill. If built correctly, Corrin will lead many of you teams, as he/she should. You also have access to both the Hoshido and Nohr noble, so you can tailor for whether you want your Avatar to be more offensive or defensive.
Azura: Azura is most viable as a Songstress in this route, though I still recommend reclassing her to Sky Knight eventually. She joins you from the start, and will likely prove pivotal in the early game. In the first mission of the route, Azura (and Corrin and Felicia/Jakob) have the potential to grow considerably, providing them with a great base for the rest of the game. As per usual, Dancer generally excel in Speed and Skill, but Azura also has reliably decent Strength growth. Her big flaw as a Songstress is her C level cap for weapon proficiency with lances. Though, a forged killer lance will allow her to do a lot of damage.
Felicia: If Corrin is male, Felicia will join you in the first mission. She’s basically the same as in Birthright here. Excellent with the Flame Shuriken and a competent healer. Not much else to say.
Jakob: If Corrin is female, Jakob will join you in the first mission. He’s not spectacular in this route. He will likely be a healer for the first few missions, a role he isn’t great at. Still, some funny dialogue with Gunter. Unlike Felicia, he will face a more significant drop off in the mid to late game.
Gunter: In addition to his poor growths, Gunter is crippled by the fact that he has absolutely no supports in this route. That being said, he remains a fantastic guard stance partner for Corrin thanks to his personal. He also will prove indispensible during the early part of the game, when units are sparse and the player is forced to rely almost solely upon their Avatar and Azura. I don’t recommend relying on Gunter in the late game, however, as he will be forcibly absent for a few missions.
Sakura: At the close of chapter 8, four units join you, Sakura first among them. Sakura is probably the most useful here, especially if Corrin is female, as Jakob is incompetent as a healer. Like before, she has strong Magic and Luck growth, allowing her to excel in either or her promotions. I prefer the Shrine Priestess, as I find it makes her a bit sturdier and bow users (aside from Takumi) are generally rare in Hoshido. Also, Shrine Priestess has an A cap for staff proficiency while Onmyogi has a B cap. Regardless, if you wish to make her a potent offensive force reclass to Onmyogi.
Subaki: Subaki’s draw here is that he joins early in the route. This allows him to accumulate a greater amount of experience and possibly be useful by the late game. However, in terms of Sky Knights he is still outclassed by Hinoka and a reclassed Azura. In terms of flying defensive unit he is outclassed by Beruka, who can take arrows better than him. All in all, Subaki remains redundant and janky unless you insist on having a defensive Sky Knight.
Hana: Hana remains a generic Samurai. Ryoma is better than her. Though Hana can make use of S class swords, meaning she may like the Hagakure blade in the late game. Otherwise, she excels as a Swordmaster but faces competition in the role.
Kaze: Kaze is back and generally unchanged. The fast Ninja. He’s far less plot relevant in this route, however, so it may be less interesting to use him as part of the main team.
Rinkah: Rinkah is virtually unusable in this route. She leaves for a while, then returns with no levels, stats or weapon proficiency. Her stats all contradict each other, leaving her largely irrelevant. And she faces competition from plentiful Nohrian axe users, all of whom are significantly more useful than she is.
Hayato: Surprisingly, Hayato is quite useful here. Joining at level 9 with good growths in Magic, Speed and Luck, Hayato begins ahead of others units that have joined at this point and still have a great opportunity to grow. While he’ll be nowhere near the magical powerhouses that are Strategist Elise or Onmyogi Sakura in the late game, he can save the player from difficult situations early on.
Takumi: Here he is again. He’s good. Use him. He’s the same as he was in Birthright, but on steroids.
Oboro: Oboro returns in largely the same role. She faces competition from Nohrian Knights for the role of defensive wall. However, she has two advantages over them. The first is that she joins almost 5 missions earlier, allowing her to accumulate some experience and weapon proficiency. The second is that her promotion, Spear Master, allows her to use S level Lances, something Generals sacrifice for access to axes. Since you receive all S level weapons in this route, Oboro is useful at least for using the Waterwheel in the late game.
Hinata: In Revelation, Hinata is able to serve as the alternative to a Great Knight in his Master at Arms class. Aside from that, it is likely that you will have better physically defensive units by the late game. Xander in particular outclasses him in this role.
Saizo: Speak to Saizo and you recruit him, Orochi and Reina. If they are defeated before recruited that unit is dead. Saizo joins much late but still has more use in the long run than, say, Kaze. However, he isn’t as effective in the late game compared to Kagero, who, with proper equipment, can defeat most enemy units without taking damage. Still, Saizo can be useful if the player prefers him. He is better in Birthright, I will remind, but acceptably useful here.
Orochi: Whereas you were sort of stuck with her n Birthright as a magic user, you have plenty of alternatives in Revelation, most of whom are much faster than she is. Hayato (whom you already have), Onmyogi Sakura, Strategist Elise, Leo, Nyx, any of them perform better late game than Orochi does.
Reina: If you can forgive her being generally just bad to average in every category save for her personal skill, Reina can be a great unit. However, Kinshi Knights are far less useful than Falcon Knights, her stat growths aren’t great, she has very few supports. Generally, the same positive and many negatives she had in Birthright.
Kagero: If you want to use all the Ninjas, I’d recommend Saizo in Birthright, Kaze in Conquest, and Kagero in Revelation. She requires a bit more training here, but the variety of enemies she faces in the late game allows her offensive prowess to shine. She becomes the biggest dagger/shuriken damage dealer in the game. I recommend her for that alone.
Camilla: Spectacular, still. Her stat spread and skills allow her to deal with almost any enemy the game can throw at her. She’ll also compliment the other royal units well, as she and Hinoka will be able to pick off units using their strong offense and mobility in the late game.
Selena: I forged a Brave Sword (named it the Tsundere) and gave it to Selena. She didn’t have any trouble from that point on. She’s the first Mercenary you receive, and considering no Royals occupy this class, it makes her viable for the late game. In addition, including Corrin and Azura, Selena has supports with four out of the ten royals, keeping her relevant in guard stance in the late game.
Beruka: As she was in Conquest, as she is in Revelation. Beruka is a solid physical tank. She is not a replacement for Camilla, but Scarlet is present in the route for only a few missions, meaning that Beruka has the opportunity to remain relevant.
Kaden: Kaden’s back in the opera house. He’s solid here, like he was in Birthright. It may be nice to have at least one beast unit in order to check enemy mounted units (though Xander with a Beast Killer fill this role as well).
Keaton: Joining alongside Kaden, Keaton remains largely unchanged, being a strong, bulky beast unit. Both his and Kaden join at a good time, as their join mission has many choke points that they can occupy, gathering experience.
Elise: Woo! She’s back and sooooo happy! As before, promote Elise to Strategist and you won’t have to worry about getting a strong magic user or healer for your team. She will require some extra attention, as she does join at level 7 when most units are getting ready to promote. She is essential for recruiting Benny and Charlotte in chapter 14.
Effie: Effie is still quite good, if a tad under leveled. While the second mission on the Port Dia map eventually forces the player to become mobile, bulky knights are indispensible early on to repel initial enemy attacks. Effie’s main problem in the route is that her (arguably) best promotion, the Great Knight, faces competition from other mounted units like Xander. But aside from that, Effie’s growths remain fantastic.
Arthur: While in Conquest you were pressed for units and had to tolerate Arthur’s faults and use him regardless, here he is largely useless. Bench him early and never look back, as there are many better axe users with perfectly adequate Luck stats and growths.
Benny: To recruit Benny, talk to him with Elise. Fortunately for Benny, he’s basically the same as he was in Conquest, a defensive wall.
Charlotte: To recruit Charlotte, talk to her with Elise. Unfortunately for Charlotte, she’s basically the same as she was in Conquest, shit. If you really want to have a unit that can use the S-class legendary axe, I suppose Berserker Charlotte can do this, but it isn’t worth it.
Silas: Hope you didn’t forget about Silas! He joins much later here and faces competition from many other units. However, he does have a big benefit, mainly that he joins at level 18 with B proficiency in swords and lances. So Silas is basically ready to promote and get to work, which is refreshing.
Shura: Oh, it’s you again. Shura joins with the level and stats he joined with in Birthright and the weapon proficiency he joined with in Conquest. Still, meh. He’s a better Adventurer than Niles in this route, but that’s not saying much.
Nyx: Nyx is the best non-royal magic user in the route, probably. She’s still a glass cannon and joins underleveled, but she does eventually gain access to the S Legendary Tome, and her high magic and speed allows her to remain more relevant here, since she has time to grow.
Ryoma: The Killer Lobster Samurai has returned. Ryoma joins ready to go for the remainder of the game. He’s one level away from Astra, has the Raijinto, and carries a Master Seal that other units may appreciate. Use him.
Scarlet: Scarlet remains in the party for only two levels, so I don’t recommend investing a lot into her. She’s the same as she was in Birthright.
Hinoka: Hinoka will really appreciate the Master Seal Ryoma joins with. She joins at level 17, nearly ready to promote. Her mobility is helpful for the mission she joins in, where walls are continually rising and falling. Again, I recommend Falcon Knight for her, as it augments her stat strengths.
Setsuna: Setsuna has some great support conversations with Selena, and she can also get the Bow Knight class from Selena’s Buddy Set. However, joining at level 11 means that Setsuna starts behind and kind of just stays behind. Since Takumi can use the S class legendary bow, her presence is largely for the entertainment of her supports.
Azama: Give me a break. It’s hard enough training up underleveled units that can fight back, but now you expect me to train one that can’t? And for what, another lance user? I’ve got, like, ten of them that are nearly ready for promotion. Skip Azama here.
Xander: Xander and Ryoma are the dynamic duo in Revelation. They will likely lead charges in tandem and can handily deal with the majority of enemies on their own. Stat wise Xander is unchanged, but you can experiment more with his reclassing options here.
Leo: Leo’s pretty good. His unique weapon keeps him relevant and his strong Magic and mobility allow him to devastate enemy lines or pick off stragglers. It might not be a bad idea to great Vengence from the Sorcerer class for him, as it synergizes well with the Dark Knight’s Lifetaker skill.
Odin: These last four units you receive (save for Flora and the Child units) all join marvelously underleveled, and I don’t recommend using any of them unless you feel some primal need to. He joins as a level 12 Dark Mage when the bulk of your army should be promoted. He doesn’t excel in anything and requires a lot of investment. If you insist on using him, just bite the bullet and reclass him to a Samurai, he’ll probably work better that way.
Niles: Whereas Niles filled a relatively unique niche role in Conquest, he’s largely irrelevant in Revelation on account of his fabulously low Strength. Shurikenbreak from the Bow Knight isn’t nearly as useful here, and his personal can be used by Orochi. Shrine Priestess Sakura and Sniper Takumi are both much better bow users than he is.
Laslow: If you want a Hero and benched Selena (but why would you?) then Laslow may be the best of these final units joining. But aside from that he’s largely useless. Again, Bow Knights aren’t as necessary as Shurkenbreaker has lost its value on account of Ninjas no longer being the dominant enemy type.
Peri: I find it funny that Peri is immediately outclassed by Xander, who joined a mere turn before her. Hell, Silas, who joined just two missions ago, outclasses her immediately. Shame, really. Oh well.
Flora: Joins after a level 3 magic turret is built. Identical to her join in Conquest. If you need a replacement for a Ninja or Maid/Butler unit, Flora is available.
Fuga: Fuga joins in Revelation after a level 3 hot springs has been built in the castle, likely sometime between chapter 21 and 23. Fuga is a solid Master-At-Arms with acceptable stats for his join time. His personal skill, which gives him a lot of buffs when his HP is less than full, is quite useful. He just won’t be growing much, and he joins quite late so i’d recommend Hinata Master-at-Arms before Fuga.
Mozu: Not sure exactly when Mozu joins, but she still sucks so it hardly matters.

Soldier: 76 Fact Sheet, References, and Some Analyses
Alright, so this is a list of facts, ideas, and analyses based on: 1) current issues or hypothesized trajectories for history, 2) confirmed Soldier: 76 lore and personal history, and 3) confirmed Overwatch timeline stuff. Note that all of these can change since Blizzard basically says “fuck it” and changes their lore every three months.  Some of these are analysis-based; stuff that is hypothesized/headcanon/food-for-thought status will be denoted as such.  Some NSFW language and swearing is included.  Also some political and social hypotheses and interpretations.

Here we go:
Indiana:
This is by no means an exhaustive list of stuff about Indiana, but these are basically quick soundbites for people who want a jumping off point.
Bloomington, Indiana currently has a population of about 90k in the city proper, and about 180k in the metropolitan area. It’s not a massive city by any means, but it’s not some small country town either.
Bloomington is a “college town”: it has the most populated public university in the state.
This means that just under half of the population is roughly young, college-educated adults and students.
“Bloomington is a regional economic center anchored by Indiana University and home to a diverse business community involved in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, technology, health care, and the arts. Bloomington's concentration of employment in the life sciences is six times greater than the U.S. average, and employment in the technology sector has grown by over 80 percent in recent years.” - Wikipedia
In heavy contrast to this, Indiana is currently the meth capital of the U.S. Indiana is also currently facing a massive heroin and HIV epidemic.
And I’m not talking that “glamorized Breaking Bad” shit.
Things could’ve stood a chance of improving before the U.S.’s new Vice President and former governor of Indiana, Mike Pence, royally fucked over many of the state’s social structures and services.

Read this too: http://www.idsnews.com/article/2017/01/indiana-opiod-problem
Let me reiterate: Mike Pence fucked up Indiana so hard there’s a fucking HIV epidemic in parts of the state. He bullied a female elected official out of office. He cut funding for fucking preschools. He destroyed Indiana’s energy system.
Now imagine being Jack Morrison, born probably in the next year to 7 years, living in the aftermath of this.
Watching business cut positions, watching people pursue higher education in your home city, but knowing that every other person in your school has a family member who got ruined by meth or HIV or struggled to make ends’ meet. Roughly 40% of the people in your home city are young adult students attending the largest public university in your state. The city is predominantly politically liberal. Your state is struggling. Your country elected the man who helped devastate it into the White House. You grow up in the aftermath of a Pence governorship and a Trump presidency.
“On the rare occasions when I cross paths with other living souls, they describe young Morrison in different ways. He was a rambunctious youth. A humble, salt-of-the-earth farmer's son. But these people all agree on one thing: Morrison was never destined to live out his days in the land of rolling plains and deep blue skies. At eighteen, Morrison packed his bags and joined the military. He had planned to serve a brief stint in the armed forces and then return home to the family farm, but his work ethic and courage caught the eye of the military brass.”
Military:
Canon: Jack Morrison joined the military at 18 years old and was eventually brought into the Supersoldier Enhancement Program.
There, he met Gabriel Reyes and the two became best friends.
Analysis: I have a hard time believing that Reyes would’ve been friends with Morrison if he’d been a huge jerk or ultra politically conservative.
Gabriel Reyes grew up in LA, which is by and large liberal within the metropolitan area.
This may be unknown to many people, but California is EXTREMELY CONSERVATIVE outside of the majority cities.  Even within the majority cities, you are likely to encounter people who are NOT liberal on a regular basis.  The odds of Gabriel having never met “a conservative individual” are literally less than zero.
However, the odds of Jack being “politically and/or social conservative” are also pretty damn low.  Naive possibly, but Jack “being shocked” over crime, drug problems, gang violence, cultural differences, or urban lifestyle stuff is less likely than I think many in the fandom realize.
So it’s not exactly an age-old tale of “young, naive, wide-eyed man from the Midwest meets a hardened, sarcastic, street-smart man from the urban jungle,” although that is what Overwatch lore wants to portray it as. When you dig a little deeper, things get more complex.
Omnic Crisis:
Jack was probably the only member of the First Strike team to double as a medic.  This is evidenced by him carrying Biotic Fields as both Soldier: 76 and Strike-Commander Morrison.
Ana’s Biotic Rifle was not invented until sometime later, after Angela Ziegler (Mercy) had joined Overwatch.  We know this because of the released blueprints of the Biotic Rifle with notes by both Torbjörn and Angela (the blueprints are addressed to “J. Morrison” and “G. Reyes”), in which Angela expresses concerns about the “weaponization” of her biotechnology.
We also know from concept art and the first “Ana” comic that Ana functioned primarily as a regular sniper before the development of the Biotic Rifle.
This means that Jack probably performed most of the healing in the field and during battles for the majority of the Omnic Crisis.
Analysis: this may be one of the reasons why the United Nations considered Morrison to be the “heart and soul” of the First Strike team: “Leadership of Overwatch fell to Reyes, but Morrison would have a greater impact on the group in the long term. He brought out the best in the people around him and helped mold Overwatch's diverse (and sometimes conflicting) agents into a cohesive fighting force. In unity, they found the strength to defeat the robots and end the Omnic Crisis.”
Hypothesis: this may provide a lore-based reason for why Solder: 76 always announces the deployment of his Biotic Fields to his teammates in-game.
Overwatch:
Hypothesis/Speculation: I find it INCREDIBLY DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE that Gabriel Reyes would continue to work for an organization - more specifically, to under Jack Morrison - for another twenty years if he truly hated it.  I take this bit of “canon lore” with a massive pinch of salt.
Timeline: It is very likely that the first major playable character hired by Jack after he became Strike-Commander is Mei-ling Zhou, probably for her breakthroughs in climatology.
Jack almost certainly approved of the “hiring” of other playable characters like Jesse McCree and Genji Shimada, even with all the problems and issues surrounding them.
Jack probably recruited Angela Ziegler (Mercy) to be the head of the medical sciences division at Overwatch.
Jack probably saved, rescued, or assisted Winston after his escape from the moon colony.
Jack almost certainly had a familial relationship with Fareeha Amari, given their in-game interactions and the Ana Origins video.
Jack and the other early members of Overwatch canonically participated in Halloween parties where they all dressed in costumes.
It is implied by the same Halloween comic that Gabriel Reyes designed the uniforms for Overwatch, probably including Jack’s Strike-Commander uniform.
Canon: Jack liked Old Western films.
Probable Canon: Jack has been to many different places around the globe - all the known Watchpoints, and likely all the U.N. Headquarters as well.  As Strike-Commander of Overwatch, he may have spent a considerable amount of time in New York City, which is where the main U.N. Headquarters are located.
“Strike Commander Morrison envisioned a bright new future for humanity. Under his leadership, Overwatch served as a global peacekeeping force and an engine for innovation, making advances in scientific fields as varied as space exploration and medical research. But even as Overwatch grew in power, Morrison stayed dedicated to the people around him. He trained new agents, instilling in them Overwatch's noble goals and ideals. At Morrison's memorial service, Reinhardt Wilhelm, one of the group's original members, said, "He devoted everything he was to Overwatch. He was our moral compass. Our inspiration. Our friend."”
Analysis: Jack Morrison was dedicated to helping develop the betterment and progress of humanity through medicine, technology, and the sciences.
Contrary to what Reaper says in the “Old Soldiers” comic, Jack did not actually deliberately leave Ana in the field.  In the “Ana” comic, Ana chooses to turn off her comms and chooses to continue pursuing the enemy sniper.  The last thing Jack says to her is “Everyone, move!  Ana, you too!  Evac’s on its way!  Wheels up in two!  Now beat feet!  Disengage, Ana!  That’s an order -” (emphasis from comic).
Given all the controversies around Reaper and how long he has “existed,” it is important to point out that Gabriel/Reaper blames Jack for a very specific event, probably the event where he became Reaper (although when specifically this event occurs is...well, debatable, I guess).  This is described in the Old Soldiers comic through direct dialogue from Reaper.  Ana removes Reaper’s mask and asks “what happened to you…?” (probably about whatever his current appearance is), and Reaper replies: “He did this to me, Ana.  They left me to become this thing.  They left you to die.  They left me to suffer… ...Never forget that.” (emphasis from comic itself).
Food for Thought: there is no mention of the promotion or anything related to it in the Old Soldiers comic, which implies that perhaps the decision was actually not as big an issue between Jack and Gabriel as stated (or as other people thought?).  In fact, there’s no mention of the promotion in any of Jack or Gabriel’s lines, dialogue, or character interactions.  At best, Gabriel throws some shade through lines like “Finally, some recognition.” but neither character actually mentions the issue directly, nor do any of the others.
Hypothesis: it is entirely possible that the “problems over the promotion” have been largely dropped from the “lore,” and Old Soldiers more closely represents “the new direction” Blizzard is moving towards with regards to the Jack-Gabriel rivalry, split, fall-out, fight, battle, whatever you want to call it.
Post-Fall/Soldier: 76:
Canon: Soldier considers “a part of himself” to have died in the Swiss Base explosion (Origin video).  It is not stated what “part of him” that is - take it as you will.
Canon: Soldier does not consider himself a “vigilante”: “Truth is...I’m just a soldier.”
Canon: Soldier: 76 is canonically anti-corporation.  This is evidenced by his personal investigation into LumériCo, as well as him breaking, entering, and vandalizing corporations and financial institutions in the U.S.: “A masked vigilante whom authorities have named "Soldier: 76" is considered the prime suspect in these incidents. In addition to bombing corporate offices and financial institutions in the United States, this individual has breached a number of former Overwatch bases. Soldier: 76 has stolen valuable technologies from these sites, including experimental weaponry, causing untold damages in the process.”
Analysis/Hypothesis: Given the current state of Indiana and U.S. national politics, the above bullet point is not particularly surprising.
Canon: Soldier: 76 is anti-gang or anti-crime-organization.  Just...watch Hero again or something.  But also consider that Soldier has the line “Reyes should’ve cleaned up the Deadlock Gang a long time ago,” said with mild frustration that the Deadlock Gang still exists.
Canon: Soldier: 76 does not want Overwatch restored.  This is demonstrated by his Gibraltar lines, and his new interaction with Winston.  He considers Winston’s actions “illegal” and “breaking the law” - “same as me.”
Canon: Soldier: 76 does have many memories of Gibraltar - “they weren’t all bad.”
Canon: Soldier: 76 feels “terrible” for all the scientists of Overwatch (Ecopoint Antarctica specifically).  He has a new interaction with Mei, where he says that the frontlines of the battlefield are no place for a scientist.  Mei teases him as a retort, saying, “I guess it’s a good thing I have you to watch my back.”
Analysis/Hypothesis: Mei recognizes who Soldier: 76 is and is referencing the fact that Jack hired her, and watched over her progress.
Canon: Soldier: 76 has numerous voicelines about activating a Biotic Field, all of which are directed at his teammates.  He never activates a Biotic Field for himself (although as a Soldier main I can tell you that I absolutely activate Biotic Field for myself 95% of the time.  The other 5% of the time is for the tank.  On extremely rare occasions, I have activated Biotic Fields for friendly DPS or Defense units who stay close to me or ask for healing from me).
Canon: the worst “insults” that Soldier has ever said about Reaper is that he’s a “bad guy” and “kind of a jerk” (on the flipside, Reaper’s sitting at a solid “boy scout” as his only insult for Soldier).
Canon: Reaper addresses Soldier by the name of “Jack” in Old Soldiers.  The only other character to do this is Ana (on the flipside, the only two characters to call Reaper by the name “Gabriel/Gabe” are Ana and Sombra).
Alternate (?) Canon - Junkenstein’s Revenge: Immortal: 76 “does not care for the nobility” but is siding with the lord of the castle to take down “a common foe - The Reaper.”  He tells Hanzo that The Reaper is “the worst kind” of monster there is - “a wicked man.”
Alternate (?) Canon - Junkenstein’s Revenge: Immortal: 76’s faith is in science and alchemy as “the things that keep him alive.”  In an interaction with McCree, McCree states that “pumping someone full of chemicals and electricity and whatnot” makes the individual “not a man, but a monster.”  This is a reference to Junkenstein’s Monster, but also to Jack and Gabriel “in the main canon,” who were “pumped full of chemicals” in SEP.
Alternate (?) Canon - Junkenstein’s Revenge: Ana describes that Immortal: 76 “attracts strange companions” - “just as it has always been.”  This is yet another reference to Jack assembling Overwatch’s diverse crew during its peacetime era.
Interpretation: While some of Soldier’s interactions can be seen as patronizing, I believe it’s more likely that he is strongly concerned for characters like D.Va, Tracer, and McCree.  As shown with the Mei interaction, he comes across as gruff or harsh, but well-meaning.  His other interactions with Ana and even Reaper to an extent show that Soldier is extremely tired, jaded, and possibly depressed from the wars he has waged - both physical and political/social - and that he likely does not want to see young people get drawn into similar situations.
Hopefully people keep finding these little essays and fact sheets useful.  I’m less familiar with the Midwest than the West Coast, but I figured it was useful to throw down some pointers for people who may not know where to start.  I also hope that condensing a lot of the “lore” around Jack Morrison/Soldier: 76 helps people get hone in on some key characteristics and ideas about him.
