This might have been asked before but what’s your opinion on how the Aphrodite cabin was written in hoo? Or Drew in general?

I do not like how the Aphrodite Cabin was written in HOO, it just- it's so... misogynistic? Like- Girls can enjoy makeup and not like fighting without being jokes or worth mocking. And it really ignores the many aspects of love- like sorry but there's so much more to it???

Plus, Annabeth in the books got along great with Silena, she would not be mocking the cabin with Piper. And Piper being treated as right for the whole situation-

Also?? she became cabin head then just fucking dipped on them- so is Drew cabin head again? Is someone else? What happened there?

And yeah, Drew- she deserved better than being villainized like that. I would've appreciated an actual examination of the impact of Silena's death and betrayal rather than them just being like "She's a hero, except to Drew who sneers at her and is a bitch".

One thing I found to really dislike about Heroes of Olympus is Drew, her personality and mainly how she's written as a character. Her character is your classic female bully you'd get from older movies. Her whole point is to make protagonist look good, in this case Piper. Now, I don't have anything agains Piper, but this is the most plain and tasteless way to write someone. Indeed, writing an original cgaracter and all their actions is very hard, but Rick could add at least bit of personality to Drew, or simply just scratch her from whole serie. I've seen people call Rick misogynistic for this, but this is only one character that's really badly written out of all, and mistakes are made. Still even after this, you can't really defend her from her actions. Her hating Silena is actually possible considering that there will always be atleast one person to be against her for being a spy. I even have a personal experience that people will bully you even if nothing happened to them in past. In in conclusion, she really is very bad written character and Rick could've done way better than this, and she is still a bad person with nothing to defend her with.

Forgive the hastily doodled on clothes - this is also my body type/scar/tattoo/etc/general ref sheet, and while I've posted it without the colors before, it feels weird posting it with colors cause for some reason then it looks like theyre all naked, lol. Ref sheets are funny that way. So doodled on clothes it is.

imagine you are drew tanaka in the middle of a losing battle and being told that your sister, your big sister who you trusted, was a traitor.

imagine hearing everyone call her a hero and not understanding because she was a traitor. she was a traitor and people are dead and how many of them wouldn't be dead right now if not for her?

imagine you are all of fourteen, maybe fifteen, and you are put in charge of all your siblings during a battle many of them are going to see the end of all because your sister sided with the enemy.

imagine feeling like a monster in your own skin. imagine holding in this gigantic hatred for a person everyone is calling a hero. imagine watching the flames on your friends funeral pyres die out and wondering if they would've survived if Silena never defected.

imagine four months later, a girl comes in and tells you you're wrong to feel this way. a girl who never knew silena. a girl who was never stuck in a war in new york for days on end while the enemy attacked from all sides. imagine she tells you silena was a hero when she doesn't know what it's like to be betrayed by someone who was your sister.

imagine she takes the responsibility of a dozen or two campers off your back by becoming the new cabin counsellor and you can't help but feel thankful for it.
