The Various Seasonal Styles of T-Shirts
T-shirts are arguably the most timeless pieces of clothing in our wardrobes. They are comfortable, easy to wear, and can be styled in countless ways to suit different seasons. Whether it's the heat of summer, the crispness of fall, the chill of winter, or the freshness of spring, T-shirts can be your go-to clothing item. Apparel stores get ready to purchase bulk blank t-shirts to customize them for each season. In this article, we'll explore how to style T-shirts for various seasons throughout the year.
Summer
Summer is synonymous with T-shirts, and for good reason. They're perfect for staying cool in the scorching heat. Just make sure you pick the right material  that doesn’t add to the warmth of the season. For apparel stores, Port Authority t-shirts wholesale is a wise investment, considering the brands high-quality, high-value summer tees. Here's how to style them:
Classic Casual: Pair a plain white T-shirt with shorts and sneakers for the ultimate laid-back summer look. Roll up the sleeves for a touch of style.
Beach Vibes: Throw on a graphic T-shirt over your swimsuit or trunks for a beach-ready outfit. Don't forget your flip-flops and a wide-brimmed hat.
Crop it: Experiment with cropped T-shirts that are trendy and let your skin breathe. Combine them with high-waisted shorts or a flowy skirt.
Layer with a Light Jacket: For cooler summer evenings, layer your T-shirt with a lightweight denim or linen jacket. It adds style without the heat.
Fall
Fall is all about layering and transitioning from the warmth of summer to the chill of winter. For apparel stores, this is the time to place some bulk apparel orders. Here's how to style T-shirts for this season:
Cardigans and T-shirts: Layer a cozy cardigan over your favorite T-shirt for warmth and style. Pair them with jeans and ankle boots for a chic fall look.
Long-Sleeve Tees: Invest in long-sleeve T-shirts made of thicker fabric. They work well under jackets and coats.
T-shirt Dresses: T-shirt dresses are perfect for fall. Add tights or leggings and ankle boots to complete the ensemble.
Plaid Shirts: Wear your T-shirt underneath an open plaid shirt for a classic fall appearance. Finish with jeans and sneakers or ankle boots.
Winter
Winter calls for warmth, and T-shirts can still be part of your wardrobe. Here's how:
Layer with a Sweater: Combine a T-shirt with a warm sweater. Choose chunky knits or wool blends for added insulation.
Under a Blazer: For a semi-formal winter look, wear a T-shirt under a blazer. Add a scarf for extra warmth.
Turtlenecks and T-shirts: Layer a turtleneck under a T-shirt for a stylish and cozy outfit. Pair with jeans and winter boots.
Accessorize: Don't forget winter accessories like beanies, gloves, and scarves to complement your T-shirt ensemble.
Despite having their place in winter wardrobes, tees are often only a part of the outfit for many during the season. So apparel stores should invest in just the right quantity of t-shirts. To keep within budget, we suggest Gildan t-shirts wholesale.
Spring
Spring is the season of renewal, and your T-shirts can reflect that with bright colors and fresh styles. And when it comes to style, most apparel stores go for Port and Company t-shirts wholesale purchases. Let’s get to styling them:
Pastel Pairings: Embrace pastel T-shirts and pair them with white jeans or floral skirts for a springtime look.
Tied at the Waist: Tie a long-sleeve T-shirt at the waist over a sundress for a casual, layered appearance.
Lightweight Layers: Opt for lightweight, long-sleeve T-shirts to keep comfortable during spring's fluctuating temperatures. Pair them with jeans and sneakers.
Rainy Day Chic: In case of spring showers, layer your T-shirt with a waterproof jacket and ankle rain boots.
Remember, the key to styling T-shirts for different seasons is layering, choosing appropriate fabrics, and accessorizing accordingly. T-shirts are incredibly versatile, allowing you to create diverse looks while staying comfortable and stylish year-round. Apparel stores have more to experiment on with more t-shirt options from many popular brands at their disposal.

The fashion-
1960-
The typical daytime look consisted of a big hat over a high bouffant coiffure, silhouettes had deep armholes an wide sleeves, and a rounded jacket. For evening wear the slender trend was popular, Long-waisted dresses, often with an over blouse. Contemporary architecture and sculpture were the most prevalent inspirations for fashion designers in 1960. There were also hints of the twenties and thirties with bloused, bias-cut clothes. Skirts got a little bit shorter in 1960. Typically worn with low-heeled shoes it placed more attention on the leg. Plaids of all sizes and colours were heavily worn. Abstract and expressionist art had a big impact on designers designs. Deep, darker colours were the rage in 1960. They especially covered the spectrum between purple, red and green. Colours like like grape, plum, wine red, garnet and olive green. In contrast, neon bright pink was also a very popular colour for those looking to make a statement.
1961- 62
Tumblr media
In 1961, fashion was all about the costume look. The fashionable woman liked to go out in the evening dresses in an expensive but simply cut dress. Many designers were now creating “the look” by designing not just the dresses, but also the hats, shoes and even makeup of their mannequins. Skirts had risen to the middle of the kneecaps, but by the end of 1961 only the very young continued to wear them short. In 1962 The silhouette became slightly more form-fitting, but the lines didn’t try to show off natural curves. Shoulders were widened. The waist was always accompanied by a belt. Costumes we popular evening wear, complete with matching jacket or wrap. Later in the season the long, tweed coat was showcased in many top high-fashion collections. 1930s-style clothing came back in style. This sparked by the rising popularity of old movies revived on television. Clothes created by Hubert de Givenchy of Paris for Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany’s were given the lion’s share of credit for bringing into style the high-bosomed, sleeveless dress.
1963-64
This is when the revolution of fashion began. In 1963, the young look took over the fashion world. This look included knee-high skirts, sleeveless dresses, lower heels and close-cropped, natural hair. Tweeds, mohair, leather and furs were the rage. Boots ranged from ankle to thigh-high. Fashion in 1964 was hit by a shock wave of nudity that extended around the globe and caused world-wide controversy. Dress manufacturers quickly jumped on the bandwagon, creating sheer-topped evening dresses with only the flimsiest layer of flesh-coloured net. “Feminine” was perhaps the most overworked word in 1964’s fashion vernacular. It referred to swinging, knee-high skirts, fitted bodices, ruffles, pleats, a lace revival and the return of the hair bow as the coiffure accessory for women of all ages. “Coco” Chanel was responsible for the hair bow revival.
1965-66
In 1965, young French designer of the bar knee, the square cut white dress and flat white boots, offered the freshest and boldest look. He borrowed the cowboy hat to top the geometric looks of his clothes. White textured stockings epitomized the trend. His ideas influenced nearly every aspect of fashion. In the US, Pop Art popped into style. Then along came Op Art. Women dressed to match Op Art paintings, with their stripes, checks and wavy line prints. Dressed were divided geometrically by bands and brightened by contrasting blocks of colour. In 1965 where a youth rebellion resulted in massive profits for mod designers. The 'mod' look became popular. The mod look required mini skirts and pale coloured fishnet or lacy textured hosiery, cut-out low heeled “little girl” shoes, mannish jackets, and ties. Women borrowed suit styles from men. They wore straight legged pant suits, often of what was traditionally men’s fabrics, for daywear.
1967-68
Tumblr media
In 1967 Twiggy became a fashion icon , fashion fell in love with the leg. Short skirts worn higher above the knee gave legs exposure they hadn’t seen in years. Women also wore peekaboo fishnets, spidery weaves and lace. Women also wore high boots as a fashionable way to cover up their legs. High-rise stretch vinyl and patent leather were a big trend at this time. In 1968 People were creating their own styles to match their personalities and mood. Accessories dominated the outfit. The new attitude was a reaction to the mini-dress of recent years. Trousers were celebrated for their versatility and were getting wider legs and softer. Women loved topping them with a colour, The most colourful, loud and expressive trends evolved from the outfits scavenged from thrift stores by hippies.
1969
Tumblr media
In 1969, fashion stretched, softened and became even more body conscious. A woman wanted to look lean, linear and long. The long, lean line was the most obvious fashion trend in 1969. “The Skinny Sixties” closed appropriately as women looked for clothes that would give them a tall, slim body. The slim silhouette was accomplished by extended skirts, long, straight-cut pants or, if she had long legs herself, they were accentuated by sheer dark tights.

the signs as claudia kishi’s outfits from the baby-sitters club series
ARIES: “A baggy yellow-and black-checked shirt, black pleather pants, red jazz shoes, and a bracelet that looked like it was made from a telephone cord. Her earrings were dangling jointed skeletons that jumped around when she moved.” (Kristy’s Great Idea) TAURUS: ”Earrings that look like Princess Di's. They're huge (pretend) emeralds, surrounded by thousands of tiny (phony) diamonds. New green-and-blue-tie-dyed T-shirt dress (the casualness of the dress would be an interesting contrast to those fancy earrings) over green leggings. Trouble deciding between her old ballet flats or the black leather high-tops she'd just gotten.” (Claudia and the Middle-School Mystery) GEMINI: “She was wearing leggings—purple ones—with black Doc Martens, red slouch socks, black bicycle shorts over the leggings, a big T-shirt with the words "This Might Be Art" scrawled on it in purple, and an old black suit jacket of her father's, with the sleeves rolled up.” (Baby-Sitters Beware) CANCER: “A short white skirt with pink polka dots, suspender straps, and an oversized white t-shirt. Pink high-top sneakers with the tops rolled down to show their striped lining and these earrings—pink plastic hearts dangling from a bigger heart.” (Stacey and the Mystery of Stoneybrook) LEO: “A black leotard and skintight red pants under a white shirt that was so big it looked like a lab coat. She had decorated the shirt herself, covering it with designs painted in acrylic. She had pinned her long, black hair back at the sides with red clips.” (Kristy’s Big Day) VIRGO: “She had stuck to two colors: black and white. Black cotton bib overalls over a white turtleneck with a shiny black patent leather belt looped around her waist. Black suede ankle boots and white cotton socks. Long black hair swept off her face with giant white plastic barrettes. A white hoop earring the size of a doorknob.” (Dawn and the Older Boy) LIBRA: “Lavender plaid cuffed pants with suspenders over a green shirt with buttons down the front, a matching lavender beret, and fleece-lined, high-top sneakers. Also, earrings shaped like Christmas tree lights that actually blink on and off.” (Claudia and the Sad Good-bye) SCORPIO: “Full-length black gauze skirt over a black leotard. She was wearing dangling glass earrings that she’d made from a chandelier. Her long black hair was held back on one side with a single red rose.” (Baby-Sitters Haunted House) SAGITTARIUS: “Short, tight-fitting black pants and a big white shirt that said BE-BOP all over it in between pictures of rock and roll dancers. She had fixed a floppy blue bow in her hair.” (Logan Likes Mary-Anne!) CAPRICORN: “A loose blouse with a fake coat of arms on it worn over a very short black skirt. Around her waist, a scarf. On her feet, short black boots. Dangling from her ears, dinosaurs. And her hair might be piled on top of her head and held in place with hairpins that look like seahorses.” (Mary Anne and the Search for Tigger) AQUARIUS: “She was wearing pink jellies, white ankle socks with pink hearts around the edges, and majorly baggy white overalls, cut off just below the knee, over a tie-dyed pink, green, and a yellow T-shirt with the sleeves rolled up. She had a ring on every finger and one on each thumb, including a heart-shaped mood ring, a ring with a little bell on it, a ring that looked like a cat winding around her finger, a baby ring with her birthstone in it, and a ring she'd made herself out of clay and beads. Her hair was pulled back into three braids, which were tied together at the bottom with a pink and green ribbon. She had on her peace symbol earrings, too, and a button that said 'Jerry Garcia Lives' in black script against a tie-dyed background that matched her T-shirt. She'd made the button herself in art class.” (Kristy and the Middle School Vandal) PISCES: “She was dressed in ski-lodge mode. That meant a woolly sweater, long black tights with thick blue socks, and hiking boots. But these weren't just any hiking boots. They were tied with shiny silver shoelaces with little snowflakes on the ends. They'd also been decorated by Claudia with a motif of snow-capped mountains running along the outside of the boot. Claud's sweater was blue, white, and gray with a snow patterned yoke. It was enormous, almost stretching to her knees. Her hair was pulled back in a long braid. From one ear dangled a silver earring in the shape of a pair of crossed skis, and from the other hung a small silver polar bear.” (Abby’s Un-Valentine)

Could you do a Fred Weasley imagine where the reader is a neville Longbottom older sister but she never went to Hogwards so after the war when the Weasley see Neville there all shocked to see he had a beautiful sister who owns a bookstore near the joke shop. (Fred lives obviously)
the bookshop // fred weasley
masterlist!
a/n: i kind of lived out my dark academia fantasies with this one, my apologies that the description of the character is a little more detailed than usual, i couldn’t help myself.
summary: Fred discovers a quaint little bookshop with a gorgeous owner, who happens to be a Longbottom.
(3.6k)
----------
The joke shop’s door rarely stayed closed for longer than two minutes. People came in and out faster than Fred could count, and there was never too much empty space on the shop floor. He was grateful, truly, his dreams had come true. Sometimes, however, the noise could get to be too much.
“George!” he called from upstairs, looking down at his brother who was working the register.
“Yeah?” George called back, not looking up as he counted some change on the counter.
“I’m going out for lunch,” he shouted over the noise, slipping on his coat as he made his way down the stairs, “d’you want anything?”
“Where are you going?” George asked, leaning against the counter with two hands as the next person in line loaded all their products on the counter.
“That café next to the bookstore down the street. The one with the sandwiches you like,” Fred was on the ground floor by now, patting his pockets to make sure he had his wallet.
“Yeah,” George said, smiling, “get me that tomato basil sandwich, would you?”
Fred nodded, navigating his way through the crowd. He picked up some fallen products on his way, putting them right, and adjusted some mismatched labels on his way out.
He took one last look at the shop before he slipped out the front door.
The silence and frosty air outside was a stark contrast to the humid and noisy inside of his shop, and Fred took a deep breath, savoring it.
The only sound was the crunch of snow beneath his feet, for it was an oddly empty day in Diagon Alley. He moved to the right side of the street, where the café was, and looked in the shop windows. He came across a small store with a few knitted products in the window, and one scarf in particular stuck out to him. Christmas was nearing, and he swelled with happiness at the thought of buying the scarf for Ginny. Shopping was one of his favorite things to do in his adulthood, having grown up poor, he now found it very satisfying to be able to pick up something he’d liked and not look at the price tag before buying it.
He walked into the shop, hearing the little bell above his head ring at the door opening. He quickly found the scarf and paid for it, leaving with a small brown bag in his right hand. He continued on the street, still looking in the windows of stores as he passed.
He was nearing the café, passing the bookstore next to it. He looked in the window, his eyes scanning the books in the display. Christmas decorations littered the front of the store, and the display case had been enchanted so fake snow was raining down on the books. He stopped in front of the store, looking in at the other Christmas decorations inside. He watched the few customers in the store gazing at the tall bookshelves, and saw a familiar face resting against the till counter. He had no hesitation, opening the glass door to the shop with an excited rush.
“Longbottom?” he called, smiling widely at the boy he recognized at the counter.
“Fred!”
Neville pushed off the counter he was leaning against, taking a few steps to hug Fred.
The old friends patted each other on the back, breaking from their embrace.
“I haven’t seen you in ages!” Neville said, grinning jovially at the older man.
“Been too long,” Fred said, straightening his coat, “you could have stopped by the shop, it’s just down the road.”
“I’m not usually in Diagon Alley these days, just here helping my sister out for the day,” Neville explained, nodding his head.
“Your sister?” Fred asked.
“Oh yeah,” he said, looking around the shop and gesturing to it with his hands, “she owns this place.”
“Really? I walk by here almost every day, what’re the odds?” Fred joked, making Neville chuckle.
“You’ve probably seen her. She’s just in the back now, got a new shipment of the books for the next school year at Hogwarts,” Neville explained, pointing towards a door that probably led to the back of the shop.
“You oughta stop by the joke shop before you leave, come see George,” Fred said, patting Neville’s shoulder.
“I just might, depends on how hard I’ll be worked today,” Neville joked, turning to see his sister coming from the back room.
Fred turned to look too, and upon seeing her his jaw almost dropped. She carried a stack of books that were piled so high they nearly covered her face. He watcher her long legs move with purpose through the shop, her body twisting with agility to avoid bumping into displays or bookshelves. She wore dark tights, which trailed seamlessly at her ankles into shiny black boots that made a clicking noise against the hardware of the floor. Fred enjoyed the sound, which made him realize how calm her store was compared to his. He watched her set down the stack of books on an empty table with a lavender colored tablecloth on it. She wore her dark hair, the same color as Neville’s, Fred noticed, in a braid off to the side of her face. A large and baggy sweater covered her torso, tucked into a plaid skirt. He watched her hands move easily through the books, organizing them with precision.
“That’s your sister?” Fred asked, sounding awestruck.
“Yeah, that’s my sister. Don’t sound so surprised,” Neville said, faking an offended tone, “and stop ogling her, too.”
Fred tore his eyes from her, meeting Neville’s again.
“Sorry, mate. Just didn’t expect that,” Fred chuckled, sounding dazed.
Neville rolled his eyes, used to his mates finding his sister attractive.
“You two should definitely come by the shop later,” Fred teased, sending Neville a wink as he slipped out of the shop.
You noticed a man leaving the shop, looking up from your books, “Come again!” you called to him.
You looked back down, unaware of Fred’s lingering gaze as he looked at you for a moment longer from the window.
Fred put in his and George’s order at the café, feeling completely distracted. He nearly didn’t hear his name being called when his order was ready.
The shop was just as busy as when he left, and he and George ate their lunches quickly while still tending to business.
The sunlight faded outside, and soon the streetlights from the alley flooded the windows of the shop. The shop was nearly empty, and George was just about to flip the ‘closed’ sign on the front door. Something stopped him, however, as he took one last look outside the window. He saw Neville and a girl walking towards the shop.
“Neville?” he called, then turned to Fred in the shop, “Fred, Neville Longbottom is walking towards the shop right now!”
Fred smiled excitedly, moving from behind the counter to meet George at the door.
“Are you guys closing?” Neville asked, greeting the twins.
As Neville hugged George, Fred caught your eye. You smiled politely, and all he could do was stare at you with dazed eyes.
“Come in, come in,” George beckoned them in, brushing some snow off of Neville’s shoulder as he passed him.
Neville looked around the shop, his eyes taking it all in at once.
“This is brilliant,” he said, smiling widely at the twins.
“We love it,” George said, smiling back at Neville.
“Who’s this?” George asked, finally acknowledging you.
“I’m Y/n, Neville’s sister,” you said, reaching a hand out to shake George’s.
George took your hand, smiling at you.
You offered your hand to Fred, who snapped out of his trance, and shook your hand nervously.
“A Longbottom, huh?” George said, sounding jokingly disbelieving.
“Not you too,” Neville said, feigning annoyance.
You rolled your eyes, shoving your brother’s shoulder. Fred’s face warmed and George laughed.
“Y/n owns the bookstore near the café,” Fred said to George, finally finding words to speak.
“Really? We must’ve walked by there a hundred times,” George said cheerily, “what a coincidence.”
The four of you chatted for a while, you and Neville walked around the store while Fred and George explained almost all of their products to you with ease. It was getting late, though, and Neville looked at his watch.
“We ought to be going soon, lads,” he said, hugging his friends one last time before you both left.
You walked Neville back to your shop, unlocking the door and flicking on some lights as you entered. The string of soft red and green lights hanging from the walls lit the room, casting a soothing aura on the shop. Some books began floating like you had enchanted them to whenever someone entered the shop, spinning slowly so customers would be drawn to them. You looked around your shop for a moment, feeling very proud of it. It wasn’t as stuffed or active as the joke shop down the street, and it didn’t cultivate half the business, but it was still something to be proud of.
Neville moved to behind the counter, picking up the briefcase he had brought with him that day. You both walked to a side part of the shop, away from books and filled with other miscellaneous knickknacks you sold. In the center of one of the walls was a fireplace you used for the floo network, and Neville reached into a bowl on the mantel piece for some floo powder.
“I’ll see you at Gran’s next week for that dinner, right?” your brother asked.
“Yeah, I’ll be there,” you reassured him, knowing Neville was hesitant to go to your grandmother’s house without you, even if he was an adult by now.
You gave him a once over before he stepped into the fireplace, and smiled.
“You’re forgetting something,” you said teasingly, poking fun at Neville’s forgetful nature.
“Oh,” he said, putting the powder back in the bowl and looking down at himself, trying to figure it out, “what is it?”
You left the room, going to the front door near the coat rack. You picked up his jacket, folding it delicately as you walked back. You handed it to him and he draped it over his arm appreciatively.
“Thanks,” he mumbled, grabbing another handful of the powder.
“See you,” you said, smiling as he erupted in green flames.
You sighed to yourself, looking around the now empty shop. You walked around, doing a once over. You straightened a pile of pens, adjusted some books, and tugged at some tablecloths that had become askew.
You swept the floor and went outside to clean the windows, wiping off the fingerprints of little kids who had pressed their faces against the glass. You grabbed your coat, finally, and left for the day, walking through the cold snow to your flat.
Fred had went upstairs for the night, slipping into bed with thoughts of your bookshop clouding his mind.
It had been a week since you saw either of the twins, and dinner with Neville was in a couple of days. You stood behind the counter, working the till. You watched peaceful customers milling around your store, and helped checkout a young man who came in for some new quills.
Your one employee was back from their vacation, which was why Neville had come in to help that day, and you called them over to work the till. You went to the back, getting a few copies of a book you noticed was selling out considerably fast. It was another unoriginal book about Harry Potter and his story, but this time it claimed to have excerpts from Harry himself. People were always desperate to know the details about the boy, and even though you found it a little morally questionable, you had to pay the bills. You brought the books to the front, slipping them into their place on the shelf. You heard the ding of the bell above the door.
“Welcome in,” you called out, not looking away from the shelf.
Fred watched you, stood on the tips of your feet to reach the top shelf. He walked around the store, pretending to be reading the book jacket of a novel about the history of wand-making, waiting for you to look over at him.
You finally did, sending him a polite smile and walking over.
“Fred, right?” you asked, making sure you were talking to the right twin.
He put the book down in a hurried way, like he couldn’t stand to look at it while you were there for him to look at instead. He gave you a flustered smile, shoving his hands in the pockets of his dress pants. He wore a suit of some degree, you noticed, every day.
“Yeah,” he choked out, his voice an octave higher than you remembered, “Fred.”
He looked away from you, coughing with an embarrassed flush on his face.
“Fred,” he said again, forcing a smile as his voice was its normal sound.
“Fred,” you repeated, smiling at him.
You both looked at each other for a little longer than someone would normally look at another, but neither of you seemed to mind. You admired to wrinkles in the corner of his eyes that seemed to stay even when he wasn’t smiling. His jaw was sharp and strong, and a few freckles scattered on his neck.
He found his mind was blank as he looked at you. Of course he was thinking about how beautiful you were, but other than that, he realized he could not form a single coherent thought.
“How’s your shop doing?” you asked, sounding dazed.
“Hm? Oh,” he fought his way out of the fog he was in, forcing his mind to remember some words, “it’s good. Good enough for me to sneak out to come see you.”
His eyes nearly widened at his own words, he hadn’t even meant to be that forward. He supposed he couldn’t stop himself. You laughed softly, ducking your head down briefly. A strand of hair fell into your face, and Fred wanted to reach out and tuck it away.
“Sneak out? George keeping you on a tight leash?” you teased, unable to stop the bashful smile spreading on your face.
Fred chuckled, and you loved the sound, “I guess so. Told him I was going out to get some Christmas presents. So, I didn’t entirely lie.”
“Christmas presents,” you said thoughtfully, “I wonder if Neville will use that excuse if he has to help out here again.”
Fred chuckled again and you felt your knees go weak.
“He would never, hardworking guy, he is,” Fred said, casting his gaze to look around the shop.
“Did you have something specific in mind?” you asked, following his gaze, “In regards to Christmas presents?”
“Oh, well I’ve got Ginny down, and the rest are easy enough. Hermione and Harry are usually the one’s I’ve got trouble with. I mean, what do you get Harry Potter and the Minister for Magic?”
You giggled, thinking he was joking. His face remained the same, and you realized he was serious.
“You buy Christmas presents for Harry Potter and the Minister for Magic?” you asked, dumbfounded.
You hadn’t gone to Hogwarts, everything you knew about most people your age came from Neville’s poorly told rants when he would return from school over the summer. The boy had the worst memory though, and could often only tell you about the things that had happened in his last few weeks at the school. You knew, of course, that he knew Harry Potter. He didn’t shut up about it. You had never bothered to pick up one of the many books written about Harry, though. Neville always told you how much Harry had hated them, how stupid and inaccurate they often were. You sold them, but you would never read them.
“Of course I do,” Fred said, his tone still airy, “they’re my in-laws.”
Your eyes widened even more, finding this fact incredibly impressive. Fred spoke about it as if it were common knowledge. It was common knowledge, but you had a tendency to miss these sort of things. You had your head shoved in a book for most of your childhood, and even in your adulthood you spent more time reading novels than newspapers.
“Well,” you finally said, looking around your tiny little shop in embarrassment at the thought of Fred giving Harry Potter or Hermione Granger anything from it, “I don’t think you’ve come to the right place, I’m afraid.”
“What? I’m sure you’ve got something. Any collector’s addition books? Hermione’s a sucker for those,” Fred leaned in to mock whisper the last part to you, bending down a little to reach your ear.
You forced yourself not to blush as you nodded. You turned, motioning for Fred to follow you. You made eye contact with the employee on the register, telling her you’d be right back.
You led Fred through the curtain that separated the back of the store with the front. Fred’s eyes widened in awe as he entered the room. It was considerably taller than the public part of the shop; the ceilings stretched for miles. The walls were lined with shelves, like a library, but for some reason he knew these books were more personal than a library. Ladders were all over the place, some stretching the length of the wall, and some only a few feet tall. Boxes were stacked in almost all four corners, and a large table sat in the center of the room with open scrolls of parchment and scattered quills. Some knickknacks he recognized to be sprawled throughout the store were also on the table, as if they were the prototypes to the finished ones. The table reminded him of his own office back at his shop. It was often messy with papers stacked high, but he loved it.
He watched you walk into the room. You waved your hand and a rolling stool emerged from somewhere in the room. It came right under you as you began to sit, and you pulled yourself closer to the table. Your hands were moving through the papers, stopping occasionally as you looked at the writing on it. Fred milled around the room, looking in amazement at the shelves.
“Got it,” you said, bringing Fred’s attention back to you.
You stood from the stool, bringing the paper to Fred.
“It’s a rare copy of an ancient runes dictionary. Half of it is unrecognizable these days, which leads us to believe theres an entire other part of ancient runes we haven’t even discovered yet. Do you think she would like something like that?”
You nervously looked at Fred, expecting his gaze to be at the paper. It wasn’t, he was staring blissfully at your excited expression. He smiled, and you noticed the lines in the corners of his eyes deepen. You thought about how happy of a person he had to be to have such significant proof of it.
“She’ll love it,” he finally said, bumping his shoulder into yours.
You noticed how close you were to him. You had rushed over, nearly bumping into his shoulder as you stood to his side.
You bumped him back and walked to the table, setting the paper down on the stool. You walked over to the shelves, not even taking a second glance before you were waving over a ladder and climbing it.
Fred watched how high you were going, concern growing in his stomach. You leaned to the left, one foot coming off of the ladder step as you reached for the book. You pulled it out delicately as to not disturb the placement of any of the other books, and tucked it under your arm as you climbed back down.
“These shelves are a safety risk,” Fred said sarcastically as you hopped off the ladder from a few feet off the ground.
“Gotta keep things interesting when running a bookshop,” you retorted, pleased to hear Fred’s laugh from behind you.
He walked after you, following you to the table in the center of the room. You placed the heavy book of the table. Fred opened it, flipping through the pages quickly. He winced.
“I hated ancient runes in school,” he groaned, closing the book.
“I find it quite interesting to read about,” you replied thoughtfully, organizing a few papers you had messed up while looking around.
“The class was miserable, George and I took it our third year thinking it would be easy,” Fred mad a face to indicate it was not easy.
“Neville mentioned it to me a couple of times when he was figuring out what courses he wanted to take,” you said absently, “I told him not to; lots of memorizing and thats just not his strong suit.”
Fred smiled, picking up the heavy book.
“Got to get back to the shop?” you asked, putting down your papers and looking at Fred.
“Afraid so,” he said sadly, frowning a little.
“Well, lets go to the front then.”
You rang Fred up, putting his newly purchased book in a bag. His hand lingered on the handles before he took it off the counter.
“Would you want to get lunch some time?” he asked, rushing his words out so fast that you barely heard them.
“Lunch?” you repeated, smiling.
“Lunch,” he said, biting his lip nervously.
“I’d love to.”
Fred smiled wide, wider than you had seen him smile, and took his bag off the counter. He walked backwards a few paces, just so he could see your face for a couple seconds longer. He turned just in time, nearly hitting a table with stacked books on it. He walked to the door, casting glances over his shoulder at your blushing face every few seconds.
He stopped to stare at you from outside of the shop, until you waved him off in a hurry, hoping that your painfully red face would subside if his handsome eyes weren’t focused on you.

ranking the sdr2 cast by how much their formal wear hits
this is just my opinion, but my opinions are great and i know what i’m talking about! this will be long so it’s under a cut
S TIER:
s tier is reserved for only the best of them all, the cream of the crop, the fit that i would gladly lay down my life for. s tier is the crown jewel. s tier is what everyone else should strive to be... but only one can take the prize.
#1: AKANE OWARI
Tumblr media
the undisputed champion. this look is everything to me. EVERYTHING. the red-trim cape with the fur. the contrast of the airy, gathered blouse with those skin-tight shiny (leather? vinyl??) pants. the pumps. the belt that screams disco style. the necklace accentuating the tasteful titty window. the red white and gold color scheme  are you FUCKING WITH ME miss owari this look could bring ARMIES to their KNEES in an INSTANT. whoever drew this deserves full creative control of the danganronpa franchise and i’m not kidding
A TIER:
a tier is for the fits that frankly own bones. they’re not as jaw-dropping and legendary as owari, but they’re still razor as hell and deserve to be met with riotous applause.
#2: KAZUICHI SOUDA
Tumblr media
kazuichi, i didn’t know you had it in you, but this FUCKS. the character of the pins on the lapels, the sneakers, and the mispinned tie. the absolute CLASS of the suspenders, watch, and tiny round glasses. the handsome slick in the hair now that the greasy beanie is gone. the tasteful highwater. he looks like the host of the larry king show if the larry king show was exclusively about ska bands and he has never looked better
#3: HIYOKO SAIONJI
Tumblr media
tell me this isn’t the cutest shit. the colors here are EXQUISITE. the bright notes from the blue on top, the way the soft pink is a perfect middle ground of the pink + white flowers on her sleeves, the subtle way the green in her bow matches the green in her collar, the white petals breaking up the sky blue that might otherwise look out of place? remarkable. stunning.
#4: PEKO PEKOYAMA
Tumblr media
the ELEGANCE is EVERYTHING here. the monochrome is offset by just a splash of red that ties everything together with her eyes and the flower in her hair, the checkerboard pattern is visually interesting but not distracting, and her hair in that loose ponytail with the little white ribbon? ugh. ADORABLE! but most of all, look at those BOOTS. those CUTE LITTLE HEELS on those SICK LACE-UP BOOTS..... QUEEN shit!!!
#5: CHIAKI NANAMI
Tumblr media
rounding out our a tier is chiaki in this adorable little dress just LOOK at her!!! she looks like a little rose, a perfect flouncy skirt with a glittery mesh overlay, a fun and fresh over-the-shoulder collar, a fucking big old bow tied in the back?? i can literally feel the way this dress would feel in my hands. it’s simple and perfect and frankly a GORGEOUS color on her this is flawless
B TIER:
b tier is a perfectly respectable place to be. these fits lack the lustre and flavor of the a tier entries, but they’re still dressed to impress and they still look fine as hell.
#6: TERUTERU HANAMURA
Tumblr media
say what you will about teruteru (and i do) but this suit is ADORABLE and it fits in with his theme + talent better than any other mfer on this list. the tasteful white/brown/red palette gives it a flashy chocolate cookie look, which is amplified in the fun pattern on the jacket. the chef’s hat switching out for a little top hat and the way the cumberbund looks a lil bit like a chocolate bar is also VERY cute
#7: THE IMPOSTOR
Tumblr media
now on its own, the suit is just alright. a vibrant pinstripe blue three-piece with the classic red tie wouldn’t land the impostor in b tier on its own... but that FUR COAT, LUXURIOUSLY DRAPED OVER THE SHOULDERS does WONDERS to pull this look together. not only is it worn with “yeah, it’s real mink, no, you can’t touch it” confidence, but it also ties the otherwise arbitrary white loafers into the structure of the look. it’s subtle and class as hell.
C TIER
c tier is full of looks that are... fine, but ultimately either are boring, lack cohesion, or have a confusing design choice or two that make it hard to get all that amped about. c tier is a passing grade, but nothing more.
#8: NAGITO KOMAEDA
Tumblr media
there’s a lot that’s good about this outfit, but there’s also a lot that doesn’t really work. let’s start with the good: the slutty loose bowtie and collar, the tight-fitting vest that ends before the hipbones so you can see the belt, the cute little ponytail? (chefs kiss) exquisite, all of it. but the suit itself is boring as sing, and who the hell decided to put the t-shirt symbol on the sleeves??? was it to add visual flavor to an otherwise bland suit? this does NOT have the black/white/red elegance that peko had.
#9: FUYUHIKO KUZURYUU
Tumblr media
the silver and gold mob-boss look, complete with matching shoes vest and fedora, are a nice nod to fuyuhiko’s talent! the plaid is teetering on the edge between fun and garish to me, but the fact that it’s consistent and the only pattern means it isn’t too offensive. quick question though: why are his pant legs rolled up like that?? this isn’t a cute “cuffed at the ankle” look, dude looks like he had to wade across a pond to get to the venue. what gives
#10: GUNDAM TANAKA
Tumblr media
out of everyone here, gundam’s suit might be the most boring of all. the scarf is just his normal scarf. the red tie and trim don’t do anything to tie the look together. the only mild point of interest is the asymmetrical vest, and i can’t even tell if that’s intentional. simply put, this “““fancy”““ outfit isn’t even in the same ZIP CODE as the level of ostentatious chuuni that gundam serves us every single day in his casual wear. maybe even worse than being ugly... it’s disappointing.
#11: IBUKI MIODA
Tumblr media
now, look. is this dress buckwild and ugly as hell? yes. but you know what else it is? it is IBUKI MIODA’S DRESS. there might not be a single cohesive thing about this dress aside from its color scheme. the huge poofy ruffles of the skirt and arm things with the spiked bow and corset are baffling. the artist somehow managed to draw the awkward, clumping shape of the skirt to make it look exactly like an emergency cosplay sewn four hours before a convention. frankly, i can’t justify ranking it as a c! but i’m doing it anyway, because the sheer level of craftsmanship demands it, and in this house we respect diy queens that are totally off the shits.
D TIER:
d tier is for outfits that aren’t offensive, exactly... but like, they sure don’t look good! d tier is not a respectable place to be. those in d tier won’t be laughed out of the ceremony in shame, but they should really run their outfit by someone else first next time.
#12: NEKOMARU NIDAI
Tumblr media
now don’t get me wrong: i have nothing but respect for the titties-out look. keeping the shirt unbuttoned all the way down to where the lapels of the jacket end? that’s sexy as hell. however, this flawless idea has a confusing execution. why emerald green and orange? what’s with the... long-sleeved printed (hawaiian?) shirt? why the red pocket square? and the jacket itself, while fitted perfectly along the chest and midsection, has a weird, unflattering scallop shape flaring out at the bottom. i want to like this fit, but there are just too many bad choices.
#13: HAJIME HINATA
Tumblr media
oh, hajime... literally nothing about this ensemble is it. the creamy manila suit might have had potential if there were literally any color variation in the vest (or potentially shoes) to give it a little more shape, or even if you just went with a white shirt underneath it! i could get behind a light, off-monochrome look! but that leprechaun-green shirt is downright perplexing to me. it looks like a mistake! did you get dressed in the dark? did you spill something on your other shirt? this is a mess.
F TIER:
f tier is inexcusable. f tier should never have happened. how does it get this bad. who did this? who’s responsible for this?
#14: SONIA NEVERMIND
Tumblr media
y’know, the colors are pretty! i dig the white and teal! but... girl... what the fuck is this construction. the ruffles are all over the place. the bodice looks like it has less fabric than space it needs to cover. the bottom half of the skirt looks like it was sewn on as an afterthought because the top half was too short for dress code. what’s with the weird choker collar detached from everything else. why is the hairband a slightly different shade of green. so many decisions were made here and none of them are flattering
#15: MAHIRU KOIZUMI
Tumblr media
yknow, i like the idea behind this. i can see what you were going for! the dress on its own might have worked, even! but everything else about it is just... so ugly. what the fuck is happening with those shoes??? the sheer black tights aren’t the sexy OL look you think they are. the collar of the dress looks like it’s... braided for some reason??? those earrings are so huge for no payoff, statement jewelry with nothing to say, and worst of all... that headband. GIRL. that headband and that belt...... there’s nothing here. also i love orange but it’s not her color.
and finally... the worst.
#16: MIKAN TSUMIKI
Tumblr media
what the fuck. what the fuck is this. this is straight up cheap rubber fetish gear. why is the HAT rubber? that skirt ruffle makes this look like fucking polly pocket clothes. why the fuck is she wearing that. the clothes are so bad that it makes her hair look like rubber too. was she dared to wear this? is this some cruel punishment? i don’t even know what to say. this is the worst possible outfit. there is not even one redeeming quality about it.

Emily in Paris Fashion Analysis (part 1)
Unless you're living under a rock, chances are that you've heard of Netflix's show "Emily in Paris". So this week, I decided to see for myself what the fuss was all about. In terms of styling, the show is a lot like Sex And The City, which makes sense because the show has been styled by Patricia Field, who also styled Sex and the city, who also styled The Devil Wears Prada. This begs the question: what went wrong this time? Because Emily Cooper, for the most part, looks messy, barring a few looks. As I binge-watched the show, I couldn't help but realise how her sartorial choices are sometimes downright questionable. Emily's looks often include prints on prints on prints, a lot of color, a lot of plaid and A LOT OF CHANEL. But it's not all that bad. The show features references to Alexander McQueen, Victor and Ralph, Audrey Hepburn and apparently Gossip Girl. Lets get right into it.
Tumblr media
We first meet Emily working out in Chicago, in a very dramatic workout look. A yellow, black and red Nike puffer jacket paired with black leggings and white sneakers seems like a bit much for a workout. While this look doesn't do much for the character to be liked fashion-wise, it is pretty good in comparison with the other looks.
Tumblr media
We later see Emily in an office where she wears a Kenzo-print dress with a tiny black belt and white ankle-length cowboy shoes. The dress and the japenese motif is a subtle homage to Kenzo Takada, the designer who recently passed away, and his legacy.
Tumblr media
Emily later arrives in Paris and to my dispair the look is very American. It's a Paris montage, she should have worn something chic. Granted that it's an 8-hour long flight from Chicago to Paris so she needs to be comfortable, but this wouldn't be the first time the styling for the show was going to be unrealistic. If we've decided to ignore logic, we might as well make her look good.
Tumblr media
Emily heads to her office for her first day in Paris, where she wears graphic booties, python skirt and worst of them all, a Paris landscape shirt. A PARIS LANDSCAPE SHIRT IN PARIS. Who wears an Eiffel Tower shirt to go to work in Paris?? It's like wearing an "I ❤ Goa" shirt to your first day at work in a Goa.
Tumblr media
Then comes this look with a breath of fresh air. We see Emily in a shin-length dress with polka dots and some other motifs paired with elegant black strappy heels by Elie Saab. This is the closest Emily has ever come to looking Parisian chic. This look is a sharp contrast to all the messy and over-the-top looks that we had seen and were yet to see on her.
Tumblr media
Where do I even start? With this look, Emily missed the mark by a mile. Crosses over Breton stripes over plaid over metallic over camouflage over neon pink lace? Looks like the costume designer took all the fabrics she could find, and stitched it together. She paired it with a teal Chanel round bag and a Chanel jacket. We see the white cowboy boots make a comeback after the Chicago look, and it's nice to see Emily repeating shoes, you know, like one of us. But nothing can help improve the overall disaster that this look is. It's hideous, and my least favorite look from the season.
Tumblr media
For a work event, Emily wears a black strapless cocktail dress with tule skirt and a black belt with a knockoff Alice and Olivia stace face bag. Why she had to ruin an otherwise elegant look with a quirky bag is beyond me.
Tumblr media
This look is also one of the most questionable looks. She wears a polka dot bow top and a beige chiffon skirt with a pink fringe bag and the ugliest shoes in the history of footwear- Maison Margiela Tabi boots in beige. These shoes were made by Martin Margiela himself in 1988 and has been a brand staple ever since. The Japanese believed in separating the toe from the rest of the feet. While the legacy of the designer and the history of the shoe is rich, no outfit can make the shoe look good, least of all this one.
Tumblr media
Next, we see Emily in a market and while everyone else wears heavy coats, Emily shows up in a crop top, high waist jeans, a colorful hat and a Chanel round bag. Who wears an outfit like that to go to the market? While the hat is chic, we can't disregard the fact that the look is insanely unrealistic. Emily's style might be a lot of things; practical is not one of them.
Tumblr media
We next see Emily wear a black and white gigham blazer and shorts set paired with a red beret and yet another Chanel bag. Enough with the Chanel bags. But credit where it's due, the look is quite chic. The look is very Blair Waldorf, although she wouldn't wear that in 2020. But the Mona Lisa tote bag? Now I question everything positive I've said.

Didn’t come out to her family yet. She’s.. not scared, per se, she knows her parents will love her no matter what, but still she feels like she’s disappointing them
(Aragon: I will tell them... eventually. It’s not like I have a serious girlfriend or anything)

Yes I know, y’all wanted a fic(..and myself included) and this are random headcanons no one but me cares about BUT—
More drabbles are coming! (I can't lie to you guys, I don’t know if I’ll ever write a multi-chapter fic with the original idea but continue writing little piecces of this AU, it’s tons of fun)

Here's a cute character question. What do you think Klaus's favorite outfits are? Why? Anything you can come up with that hasn't been seen in the show?
Tumblr media
Oh my gosh oh my gosh. I don’t know where to begin.
I think Klaus is someone who genuinely wears as little as he possibly can as often as he can, because A) sensory issues (ADHD out the bum, yo)  B) he runs hot, and everytime he’s coming down off a high he sweats and has hot flashes C) he’s very vain and takes very good care of his body, working out to tone those arms, legs, and abs--they may be slender but they’re solid, and he wants to show that off. I also think that vanity stems from looking healthy = being undeniably ALIVE, which, given that he’s steeped in needy dead people 24/7, is a way of self-soothing.
SO.
Klaus likes outfits that combine a somewhat rebellious, avant-garde (think “Eurotrash” lmao) fashion sense with comfort. He also starts out as a child wearing Lisa Frank esque colors and pastels, to defy death, but then he kind of cynically embraces a mostly-black wardrobe, and then we see, as he becomes more emotionally stable in the 1960s (the second time in the 60s I mean) him branching back out to that original casual flamboyance (including a bright palette).
It’s rare that those things (fashion and comfort) intersect but he makes it happen. For instance:
Favorite shoes: black Converse high-tops. Casual yet snappily counter-cultural.
Favorite pants: those iconically slutty black leather skinny pants with the lace-up sides.  Like, he LIVES in those. And when he loses them in the sixties, I insist he gets a new pair in the 21st century.
Favorite shirts: CROP TOPS. And. VESTS. There’s the black lace one with the star patterns. There’s the closed black vest with no shirt under it.  There’s a striped crop top with the olive green vest. This enables him to show off his emotionally significant tattoos (like the sky soldiers one on his left shoulder).  It helps him overcome the unpleasant itchy-stimulation of sleeves.
SKIRTS SKIRTS SKIRTS SKIRTS DID I MENTION SKIRTS. AND COMBAT BOOTS!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!
I personally want to see Klaus in booty shorts (bc it’s funny); in more faux fur necklined coats; in black ankle boots; in more trenchcoats (yummy); and in something softly hippie, like maybe one of those alpaca fur oversized sweater things.  I think he’d look adorable in scarves. I’d like to see him playing with a punk meets prep vibe, so like, the scarf would be tan plaid, but then the rest of his outfit would be solid black.  And I don’t want him to ever give up jewelry. I love how he wears big long necklaces, and Dave’s dog tags.  Omg and screen printed shirts with like iconic eighties and nineties things, like Pac Man! Or the Ninja Turtles!  But girl sizes so he can wear THOSE as crop tops too!
Also NEVER STOP LETTING KLAUS WEAR MAKEUP! Let him wear tons of eyeliner, shadow, and mascara!!!!! Let him experiment with tinted lip gloss!  Let him get just barely back into the Goth vibe and let him play up his genderqueer expression as he sees fit!
God I could go on but this got long enough.

Effy’s Style for Romantics
I’m back with another Kibbe body type post!  If you missed the beginning of this series, you can find out what your type is here.  Today we’re focusing on Romantics for the Romantic anon who was excited to see more of this series!  This one was a challenge, because Romantics are 100% feminine in their body type and style.  While Effy has more of a mix of the masculine and feminine, Romantic types look best when the feminine is emphasized.  That said, you can still totally get an edgy, Effy inspired look with this body type, and there’s even an outfit that Effy wears that would suit Romantics really well.  More under the cut.  Let me know what you think!
Romantics are small, soft, and curvy, with an hourglass figure, delicate bones, and rounded facial features. Examples of this type include Marilyn Monroe, Emilia Clarke, Leighton Meester, Amanda Seyfried, Christina Ricci, Christina Milan, Beyonce, Drew Barrymore, Kate Winslet, and Holliday Grainger.
In general, Romantics should look for rounded shapes with soft edges, waist emphasis to maintain the hourglass figure, draping, soft and flowy silhouettes, oversized bows, ruffles, and lace, soft, draped necklines, and pieces that are tapered at the wrist, waist, and ankle.
Starting with dresses, Romantics should look for ones that are feminine and flowing, with waist emphasis, ornate details, soft prints, and rounded details.  Lightweight fabrics look great on this type.  The popular Reformation type dress looks amazing on Romantic types:
Tumblr media
For everyday dresses, these two below are great for a Romantic type because of the waist definition, ruffles, lightweight fabrics, and flowy feel.  With stacked necklaces or bracelets, a dark eye, and some boots, these dresses can easily go from feminine to grunge:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Below is another great look for a Romantic type.  Again, with edgy accessories it can go from feeling feminine to feeling edgy very quickly:
Tumblr media
For a more dressy event, something like the dress below would look amazing.  Its waist definition and flowy skirt make it distinctly Romantic, but the floral pattern feels edgy, especially with the ombre effect at the bottom:
Tumblr media
For an edgier way to get a defined waist, go for a belt like this one:
Tumblr media
For sweaters and shirts, cowlnecks, lace peplum tops, gathers and ruching are details to look out for.  For sweaters in particular, look for soft, fluffy knits, sweaters that are draped, and plush knits.  For an edgier Romantic style, I would suggest learning into black lace.
A black lace peplum top is a great option for Romantic types.  Pair with leather leggings for an edgier look:
Tumblr media
Ruffled sleeves also look great on Romantic types.  Effy’s dress in 301 has the right idea:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you want a sheer element to your look, a top like this, a fitted crop with a scoop neck that’s tapered at the wrists, would work really well with some high waisted pants:
Tumblr media
Ruched tops are a great option for Romantics as well:
Tumblr media
Cowl necks are also an amazing look on this type.  Think Effy in Katie’s series 4 episode for inspiration:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In terms of sweaters, this soft, fluffy knit would be a great way to channel Effy’s fur coat that she wears in the opening credits:
Tumblr media
If you want to channel her 308 outfit, a ripped cowlneck sweater like this one gives off the same vibe with a more romantic shape. Just make sure to emphasize the waist:
Tumblr media
For pants, soft, draped pants that showcase curves is the way to go.  Gathers at the waist and a tapered bottom will help to emphasize your hourglass shape.  High waisted pants are a Romantic’s best friend.  Skinny jeans, mom jeans, and skinny leather pants/leather leggings are all great options for this type.
Tumblr media
You can see here how the paperbag trouser can be turned into something edgier.  Without the jacket, this is a really great Romantic look. The neckline of the top is low and the top has subtle ruching detail, and the paperbag pants emphasize the waist and taper at the bottom:
Tumblr media
You could also go for a plaid pattern like these, again to give it more of an edgy feel:
Tumblr media
I like the below image because it shows how nice a cropped sweater and fitted pants can look.  Go for a cropped black sweater and black trousers, and immediately it has more of an edgy vibe:
Tumblr media
The two images below show more romantic tops paired with mom jeans:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But you could easily take an edgier top and pair with black or grey mom jeans for a look that feels less feminine.
Again, looking back on Effy’s look in 404, leather leggings or leather pants are a great way to add edge to an outfit that still complements the Romantic‘s hourglass figure.  A look like Kendall Jenner’s outfit below would actually be great for a romantic, either with those pants or a skinnier version:
Tumblr media
For hair and makeup, Romantics benefit from glamorous hair that’s soft, stylized, and wispy, with face framing layers and curls.  The makeup that looks best is light, with shimmer, pearl, pencil liner, and long, wispy lashes.  That may sound incompatible with an Effy look, but it can definitely work.  First, hair:
This kind of wispy, curly hair looks great on Romantics:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Effy does a similar look in episode 2 of series 4:
Tumblr media
For makeup, here are some examples of a darker look that isn’t too heavy for a Romantic face. A small wing or subtle grey smoky eye can go a long way, especially if you line the eye on the inside.  With a neutral-pink lip, glowy cheeks, and wispy lashes, it gives the same sort of effect as Effy’s heavy makeup does:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You can see in this picture that Christina Ricci looks a little bit too made up with the combination of dark eyeliner and a dark lip:
Tumblr media
And in this picture, you can see how an actual smoky eye overwhelms Leighton Meester’s delicate face:
Tumblr media
Some random other bits: I love the coat below for a Romantic Effy style.  The worn in velvet feels punk, as do the baroque details, but it’s fitted and cropped so it will show off the waist:
Tumblr media
For shoes, go for lightweight, supple leather boots.  They’re not quite as heavy as a combat boot or Doc Marten would be, but they’ll give that same feel:
Tumblr media
This type of thing would work really well:

Drabble!!!

———————————————————————
Ron was sat in the arm chair his mother had had placed in the same spot for the last decade. His legs were widespread, mug of tea cradled in one hand. The glass was hot enough to burn him, but he held the glass unbothered. He was void of his usual coat, white button down being the only thing he wore. His red tie hung from his collar, suspenders embracing his shoulders. He was still, ears straining to listen to the sound of his mother as she moved in and out of the room, tending to his stomach. He was hungry, he was thirsty, he was her little boy and she insisted on taking care of him.
You were sat on the sofa, legs crossed as you waited for the inevitable. Ron had just shot and killed someone — and he hadn’t done it somewhere secluded, no, he’d done it in a bar, in front of too many eyewitnesses. His brother would definitely stop by and he would have a lot to say.
Violet weaved in between the sofa and armchair, soft eyes moving from her son toward you.
“Alright, love?” Her question was directed toward either of you.
You lifted your gaze, smile clear on your face before you nodded once. Looking toward Ron, you shifted slowly, warm breaths leaving your lips.
Ron set his mug of tea on the side table before laying his hands on his thighs. Brushing his ring-covered fingers along his trousers, he let out a hoarse grunt.
“Think I’m gonna take her upstairs, mum. It’s been a long day.” Ron stated under his breath. He pushed his hand into the arm of the sofa to stabilize himself as he stood, but when you followed suit, Violet spoke.
“Darling, Reggie’s on his way. Mh? Don’t you want to see your brother?” Her shaky hands clasped together in front of her, against her blue, floral dress. She shifted in front of the pair of you before squinting. It was obvious that the pair of you wanted to be alone. She couldn’t count the amount of times Ron had feasted on you with his gaze. She could take a hint. “I do have laundry to do, however, so just call for me when he’s here?”
Ron’s eyes twitched with his squint. He nodded his head once before returning to his armchair. A low grunt of comfort left him and the second his mother left the room he ushered you toward him. Your eyes scanned his features, attempting to read his expression, before you stood. Sidestepping the coffee table so you didn’t cut your exposed calf on the sharp edges, you moved toward the handsome bloke before lowering yourself down on to his lap with no hesitation.
“Is this where you want me?” The question was almost inaudible. Violet was down the hall, too far out of range to hear anything that was said between the two of you, but whispering made this all the more sneaky and Ron got a kick out it. The man let out another low grunt of approval before placing his hand on your hip. He peered down at your attire, admiring the skirt that was riding up the length of your thighs each time you squirmed.
“Come on,” His hands dropped to the fabric. He rolled the plaid material up the length of your legs. “let’s have a little fun while we wait.” You didn’t mind letting him continue, but Reggie wasn’t one to goof off when he was mad and you knew he was going to be infuriated.
“Wait until we go to bed.” You whispered before placing your hands on top of his own. His jewelry was cold to the touch, buried in your palms as you stroked his warm skin. You moved forward and toward him so that you were sat directly on his crotch. You could steal tease him.. you just couldn’t give into him completely.
“Bedtime’s a long way off, i’nt it?” He moved to stand, ready to hoist you up and carry you off to the bedroom so the pair of you could do anything but sleep. Maybe pass the time whilst waiting on his beloved brother. You leaned in and kissed him to try and weaken his movements before he could even get out of the seat. It worked. Ron’s body went limp. His pink lips pressed against yours firmly, refusing to part in the slightest once they met. The hand which had been pulling at your skirt had now slid around to your lower back so he could hold you against him. It wasn’t as if you had any intentions of distancing, but he kept his palm in place to cradle you close to him as he’d done to his mug. His lips moved against yours at a slow pace, his heavy breaths mingling with the noisy pecks the two of you exchanged. You giggled against his lips, savoring each touch he gave you because you knew when Reggie got here, it would be goodbye big ol sweet bear. Ron was always distant when his brother was around and you never understood why. Your lips parted from his but only so they could glide to his neck. His skin was soft, hot, and his pulse was throbbing beneath your lips. You bit playfully at his flesh, hands grazing the buttons that lined the front of his chest.
“Ron?” The suddeness of Reggie’s voice made you almost topple off of your semi-boyfriend. The wreath hanging on the back of the door bounced against the wood before stilling. Reggie brushed his hair back, smoothing the strands down before he looked over his shoulder to ensure Albie was inside. He kicked the wood shut with the heel of his boot before making his way through the doorway and into the living room. You hadn’t even had a chance to climb off of Ron before his brother was in the room, watching the scene before him.
Albie wore a lazy smirk, unable to hide the fact that he was amused by the situation. He took a seat on the creaky chair in the corner, back molding into the cushions as he folded his ankle over his knee and sent you a tilt of his head in greeting.
You climbed off of Ron’s thighs and smoothed down your skirt before making movement to sit on the sofa. Ron’s hand locked around your own though, halting you from rushing off.
“Reg.” He uttered before dragging you back toward his opened thighs. Your rear was set directly on his upper legs, a comfortable seat that you wouldn’t complain about under any other circumstance, but beneath the heated gaze of his brother — you’d really rather sit on the sofa. You took the silence as a means for you to greet Reggie too.
“Doing good, Reggie?” Your question made the anger falter slightly. He was fond of you, everyone was. You were kind, gentle, very enjoyable to look at. You got along with everyone, so he found it impossible to be as pissed as he was toward Ron, when you were sat on the brute’s lap.
“I am, yeah, thank you.” The black trench coat he wore looked impossibly heavy. His broad shoulders carried the weight proudly, easily. His hands, previously tucked away in his pockets, slid out from their hidden space. In one hand he held a cigarette and in the other a lighter. He swiftly lit the end before placing the cigarette between his lips and backing up. His calves hit the armchair behind him, knees deadlegging so he could collapse on the cushion.
“Ron,” You spoke breathily. Turning your head so that you could see him, your fingers trailed from his knee all the way up to his thigh. “I’m going to put the kettle on.. mh? Talk to your brother.” Leaning forward, you stole a delicate kiss before lifting yourself up and off of his lap so you could hide away in the kitchen.
Reggie’s eyes followed you which earned him a glare from Ron. “Let’s keep our eyes to ourself, mate.” Ron grumbled out possessively. His feet shuffled against the floorboards, loudly thudding as he peered over his shoulder and through the doorway to the kitchen. Inspecting the way you moved around the table, he let out a soft noise before standing. He took a seat on the sofa instead, blocking everyone’s view of you as you made them all some tea.
Reggie practically snorted before shaking his head in disbelief. “Didn’t come here to ogle your girl, mate. I came to see why the fuck,” His palms opened wide, it was obvious he was beyond mad. “you thought it would be wise to fucking shoot a man in a bar.” His hands lifted to his hair. He smoothed down his locks before clenching his jaw and looking toward the floor. His boots brushed along the carpet beneath him, a distracted action. “Un-fucking-believable.” He moved his gaze to Albie.
Albie was calm, collected, his usual self. He clasped his hands together over his stomach and let the situation play out. There was no rational-talking or situation-calming. If the boy’s wanted to fight, they’d fight. He did however have a good tendency to look out for the love interests in either of the Kray’s lives though and so that meant you were under his watch. He knew you’d come barreling into the room to try and put a stop to their flying fists, but he’d be prepared to halt you before you got too close.
Reggie stood with a heavy sigh before looking toward the hall. He could hear his mother’s faint humming. He looked back to Ron. “You’ve gone and fucked it all up, haven’t you?”
Ron shifted on the seat. His fingers lifted to pinch the frame of his glasses so that he could adjust them. He wasn’t fighting tonight. “Y/N.” He called out softly before slumping back against the cushion. He didn’t feel like sitting around all night, listening to his brother talk down on him either.
Your eyes flickered to the living room, shoulders straightening as you were called to the room, but before you could even take a step forward the kettle started whistling. You swiftly pinched the handle and removed the pot from the stovetop. Laying it to the side, you poured three mug fulls before setting them on the flimsy, black tray. Moving from the kitchen and into the living room, you handed Albie his tea first, smiling when he thanked you, before handing Reggie his cup and Ron his. The Kray’s gave you the same grateful look. Their eyes held their gratitude.
“Right, well.” Your hands moved to your hips. “I,” Your gaze dropped to Ron. “am going to have a shower and then go to bed, so, I will see you..” Your brows lifted. “when you’re finished.” Hunching over the side of the sofa, you leaned forward to kiss his cheek, but he turned his head and caught your lips. The action was far too sensual for a man like Ron Kray, but you didn’t complain. Your hand lifted to his cheek, tender and careful as it brushed along his warm skin. You felt his lips twitch against your own and in hopes of catching his smile, you drew back. It was gone before anyone could see it. Patting his thigh, you twisted around and stepped toward Reggie. “Always good to see you, Reg, even though the circumstances aren’t the best.”
Reggie’s large arms opened wide. He locked you in his warm embrace before you really had anytime to say anything. His hugs were different than Ron’s. He was seemingly skinnier, not as visibly broad as Ron, but then again.. just as broad. You smiled against his shoulder before allowing him to kiss your cheek.
“Take care of my brother.” He told you quietly before you could remove yourself from his embrace. You reassuringly pat his arm before stepping back.
“Always.” You nodded. Your hand fell from his arm to his hand, squeezing it once for another reassuring action before you stepped around him and brushed by Albie’s knees. You paused long enough to kiss the top of his head before bidding them all goodnight and heading down the lengthy corridor.
Ron was glaring daggers at both men, envious over the physical displays of innocent affection. He watched you as you vanished down the hall and considered chewing them both out for touching you in any sort of manner. He remained silent though. His eyes said enough.
You poked your head into the laundry room, informing Violet that Reggie had arrived and you were going for a shower. She thanked you sweetly, not even bothering to fold the remaining dry clothes before hurrying off down the hall so she could see her second little boy.
The house was silent when you stepped into the bathroom. It really was hard to hear from this side of the house. The navy blue walls were cold as you leant against them, arms folding over your chest as you nibbled at your bottom lip. It was foolish for you to stand and wait with your fingers pathetically crossed as you internally begged for their little chit-chat session to come to a close. You wanted Ron all to yourself, it had been forever since you’d had him. Teddy was always hanging around, eager to get a little bit of Ron and although you’d promised him that it didn’t bother you that the relationship you had with him was open.. you’d had a change of heart. You wanted Ron Kray all to yourself. It was greedy and selfish, but you really couldn’t find it in yourself to care. He spent almost all of his time with you anyway, it was just hard to actually be alone because men dropped in all the time for ‘work’. You knew it was just because they wanted to see him.
A heavy sigh of defeat left your lips when too much time dragged by. If you were lucky, you’d get a kiss before bed. Your eyes rolled as you lifted your hands to the buttons on the front of your dress. Undoing them one by one, you shoved the material off of your arms before rolling your skirt down so the blouse could follow the fabric to the floor. Taking a seat on the closed toilet lid, you rolled off your socks and underwear before placing your elbows on your knees and staring at the floor. If you did muster up the courage to tell Ron you wanted to be his and his alone, you’d also have to tell him that you wanted him to be only yours and a part of you —a small part of you, feared that he’d say no.
Blinking rapidly to pull yourself out of this sad state, you stood from the seat and leaned over so you could turn on the shower. The water struggled for only a second before it shot out from the shower head. The pitter patter sounded hollow because of the tub, but the second you climbed in, the water would hit your body and be much quieter. Removing the pin from the front of your looks, you shook out your strands before setting the hair accessory down on the recently wiped down sink. The soft clatter filled the bathroom before with a breathy hum, you moved toward the shower.
Ron made his way down the hall, fingers already hooked in his tie so he could undo it from its fastened state around his neck. His suspenders already hung off of his shoulders, dangling beside his hips as he moved forward and into the bathroom without hesitation. Your sharp gasp of surprise when he entered made him let out an amused grunt. He closed the door with an arched brow, reaching behind him in order to twist the lock. He didn’t bother looking over his shoulder to ensure the lock had indeed done its job, his eyes were stuck on you, completely bare. You gave him a soft smile before moving toward him instead of the hot water.
“About time you joined me.” You uttered, fingers taking over in undoing the buttons on his shirt. The thin white fabric was smooth beneath your fingertips.
“Should be a regular fucking occurrence.” He told you huskily.
“If you come home more often, maybe it would be.” He sensed that you were easing him into something, but he didn’t want to pry. He wanted you to tell him whatever it was at your own pace. A grunt was all you received. He pulled his shirt off and dropped it on the floor before moving toward the shower so he could feel the water. It was hot against his palm, but it wouldn’t be too hot once the both of you were stood beneath it. Your hand moved to the waistband of his trousers. Hooking your finger in the belt loop, you tugged on him in the slightest, waiting for him to twist around to face you. He did so, slowly. He stared down at you, glasses fogging up from the steamy shower. You stared at him intensely. Half of you expected him to break the eye-contact, but he didn’t budge. His eyes were locked on yours, patient and curious as he waited for you to fess up to whatever it was. “I don’t want to share you anymore, Ron.” There was a momentary pause. “At first.. I didn’t care, it was just just fun and sex and parties, but now..” His chest seemed to puff out as his ego boosted, eyes widening for only a millisecond. Clearly, he hadn’t expected this. “I care about you, deeply. And I want you to just be mine.”
“Yours.” It wasn’t a question. You nodded anyway. “Right,” He turned back to the shower and adjusted the temperature in the slightest. “I’ve been yours since day one.” His words were harsh, stern, almost accusing, but they made you beam and your stomach was doing somersaults. “I thought you knew that by now.” He straightened. His hands fell to his trousers, undoing the button so he could shove the fabric to his feet.
“How could I? I thought Teddy was your favorite.” You whispered. Watching him as he stepped out of his slacks, he stood in front of you in just his boxers.
“Teddy.” He snorted. “Teddy was my favorite until you came along.” He was beginning to feel a bit shy, but he swallowed the urge to shy away. His hand moved to the sink, fingers curling around the new box of soap. He pinched the ends and tore the thing open before dumping the bar out into his hand and then wiggling it. “Come on, the water’ll get cold.”
You pushed yourself away from the corner you’d been stood in and instead moved toward him. Your small hands lifted to his big shoulders, rubbing them lazily as you gazed up at his handsome face. Your heart thumped noisily, hammering against your rib cage loud enough for Ron to hear. Lifting yourself up on to your tiptoes, you stole a slow kiss from him before backing up toward the shower. You swore you felt him smile against your lips, as he clumsily followed you into the shower. You reached for his boxers, shoving the material to the floor before he lifted you up and on to his strong hips. He cradled you as you locked your legs around him, arms doing the exact same to his shoulders. He kissed you deeply, meaningfully, proving to you that he was yours and yours only.
Reggie was sat on the sofa, continuing to chat with his mother and Albie for a bit. He was lost in the conversation about London and Ron, lazily swirling the liquid in his mug around.
“She’s a good one.” Violet whispered to her son. “Treats him better than anyone I know. She’s here day and night, you know that, always waiting, smiling. Such a helpful girl.” She sighed breathily. If something, god forbid, were to ever happen to her, she trusted that Ron was in good hands.
Reggie rubbed his lips together, savoring the sweet taste of the tea that lingered on his lips. “I know it.” He nodded in agreement. “I like her... Ron thinks too much.” He chortled before sharing a look with Albie. “He did good.”
Violet sighed. “Well if he’d settle. He’s got too many,” She waved her hand around, gesturing to the men Ron still fooled about with. “lovers.”
Reggie shook his head. The clink from his glass tapping the plate was almost too noisy as he set it down on the table. “Nah.” His head shook. “Ron loves her, I think. I see it every time he looks at her.” This was a risky conversation to be having. Ron could be eavesdropping from the hall. It wasn’t bad, but it was about him, and Ron wouldn’t like that at all.
Lucky for the Kray’s in the den, Ron was a bit too busy to pay attention to anyone outside the bathroom. His body molded against your own perfectly, arms hooked under your thighs to hold you up against the cold tile. The hot shower was hardly raining down on either of you, but your sweaty, hot body was keeping you warm and would do so for a while. You panted harshly into the, now, sloppy kiss as Ron assaulted your tongue with his own. Digging your heels into his back, you matched his set rhythm, heart threatening to give out as Ron was semi-gentle with you. It was new. It was different. And it was nice. You decided, as your tongue moved along his, that you preferred to be screwed senseless by the man, but this felt damn good too.
