DAY 25: TIMEBOMB
Tumblr media
i can't shut up about this man this whole lore is just so. aaaaaaaa
doc has to have the coolest backstory in all of fiction. like. my man first was forced to be a law clerk and rebelled against his dad, then finally became what he wanted, a scientist, only to build an atom bomb. like what the fuck, bobby g. and then, in 1955, he gets his greatest revelation and finally has something to work towards. and then he takes lsd in the 60s and becomes a hippie (which in my headcanon both is a result of the cuban missile crisis in 1962. doc does not want to be reminded that he's partly responsible for the potential destruction of the world, thank you very much). and then, in 1985, he finally realizes his dream of a time machine and hits two birds with one stone by also using plutonium for good after struggling for decades because he destroyed cities with it in 1945.
phew
but the manhattan lore has me in its grip. i can't help it its just so interesting. i wish we had more canon stuff on that, i would eat it up. like. doc has the purest heart in the world. what did this do to him.
i am hugging 40s doc as tightly as possible rn

Rebel With a Cause
Fandom: Back to the Future
Ships: Marty & Doc
Additional Notes: Fluff, Coming Out
Synopsis: Marty has something to tell Doc. you can read the fic here on ao3 as well as my other fics!
It was like most other days in the laboratory. Doc was working in his laboratory and Marty had come to watch him. Unlike most days, Marty had hardly been talking.
Doc was a little concerned, but rather than pressuring his friend to talk, he allowed his tinkering to fill the void of sound.
“Doc?” Marty finally spoke.
“Yes?”
“You ever seen Rebel Without a Cause?”
“Sure. I think I saw it in the theater when it came out.”
“Yeah,” Marty shuffled. “My mom made us watch it yesterday. She said she always had a crush on James Dean when she was younger. I think she still has a thing for him.”
Doc nodded.
Marty went on rambling, “It sounds kinda weird for her to still like this guy from the 50s when she’s married to Dad. I guess it doesn’t really matter because Dad doesn’t care and they love each other, but I dunno…”
“Are you worried about your parents not loving each other?”
“No!” Marty waved his hand in the air. “I’m not worried about that.”
Doc nodded. He didn’t say anything, hoping the silence would prompt Marty to continue.
“What was I talking about?” Marty sighed.
“James Dean?”
“Right.”
He didn’t continue. The laboratory became abnormally quiet again. Doc looked at Marty. The boy’s cheeks were slightly red and he had the thousand yard stare.
“Are you okay?” Doc asked.
“What?” Marty was still staring at nothing.
“You look a bit rosy. Do you have a cold? A fever?”
“I’m fine, Doc.” Marty reassured him. Doc shrugged and went back to working.
“Doc?” Marty was now looking at his hands.
“Yes, Marty?”
“Would you think it was weird if I said I could see why my mom thought James Dean was…hot…?”
“No.” Doc replied candidly. “Being able to see the attractiveness of a person seems to be a very normal thing. At least from what I’ve observed.”
“Oh.” Marty mumbled. “What if I said I liked him…uh, the way you’re supposed to like a girl.”
Marty tugged at his jeans and adjusted his collar.
“Are you saying you’re a homosexual?”
“No! I know I like girls. I’m dating Jennifer, for crying out loud!” Marty exclaimed. He took a breath and spoke quietly. “But I think I might like boys, too.”
Emmett raised his eyebrows in thought.
“Please don’t tell anyone.” Marty pleaded.
“Marty, I would never tell anyone.” Emmett reassured him, “That information is for you to share with whomever you like. And I am honored that you would tell me.”
Marty gave a short nod and curt smile.
“Doc, you don’t think there’s anything…” Marty hesitated, “wrong with me, do you?”
“Absolutely not.” Doc answered, almost scoffing at the idea. “There is nothing wrong with being attracted to someone.”
Marty’s eyes began to shine. “Thanks, Doc.” He smiled, wrapping his arms around the scientist.
“Anytime, Marty.” Doc smiled. “And, hey, any friend of Dorothy is a friend of mine.”
“You’re gay, too?”
“Of course I’m happy.” Doc replied. “But that’s beside the point.”
“No. Gay as in homosexual.” Marty corrected himself.
“Oh.” Doc pondered, “Well in that case, no. I’m not quite sure what I am.”
Marty had a curious look on his face, but shrugged it off.
“But I do know that I’ll always be here if you need me.”
The two shared another smile before going back to work.

We Got To Get ʙᴀᴄᴋ ᴛᴏ ᴛʜᴇ ꜰᴜᴛᴜʀᴇ-| Marty McFly x Reader|pt-3
pt-1|pt-2|pt-3
Tumblr media
After she had went home back to Doc he has to explain his mom why she left so early. After dinner he went into his room to take a quick power nap before he left so he could gather his energy. He turned on his radio and laid down in his bed wondering what experiment they were going to do next. Next thing he knew he was rudely awaken by the ringing of his telephone. He picked up the phone groaning "Hello?" "Marty, you didn't fall asleep, did you?" It was the doc again. "Ah, Doc, uh no. No don't be silly." He totally did. "Listen, this is very important. I forgot my video camera. Can you stop by my place and pick it up on your way to the mall?" The Doc asked desperately. "Uh, yeah. I'm on my way."
And with that, he headed off with his skateboard quickly to Docs house grabbing the camera and back on the road to the mall. In the parking lot he could see Doc's van illuminated by the led light signs. His skate board skidded to a stop when he saw Einstein and Cypher in the lot alone. But where was Doc? "Cypher, Einstein! There you are. Hey, look. I really sorry about how she was talking about you earlier." He apologized rubbing his neck. "Its no worries. It wasn't your fault." Cypher let out a small smile but he knew it was still hurting her. "Have you seen the Doc?" just then he heard clacking coming from the van as is slowly opened and a car back out with a license plate that said outta time. The car came to stop and out stepped Doc carrying a clip board and pen in his mouth. "Doc!" Marty called gaining his attention. "Marty! You made it! Welcome to my latest experiment and this one is a doozy. The one I've been waiting for my whole life." He rambled excitedly. ""Uh, well its a DeLorean." Marty pointed out obviously. "Bear with me. All your question will be answered. Roll the tape and we'll proceed." He ordered pointed for he to move. "Is that a deco suit?" "Never mind that now!" Marty moved a couple feet back and hit record on the cam.
*REC*
"Good evening. I'm doctor Emmett Brown and this is my Daughter and junior assistant Dr Cypher Brown. We are standing in the parking lot at Twin Pines Mall. It's Saturday morning October 26, 1985, 1:18 a.m. This is temporal experiment number one."
He called Einstein over and rangled him into the front seat of the car and strapped the seatbelt onto him.
"Please note- that Einstein's clock in in precise synchronization with my control watch. Got that?" "Got that Cypher!" "Good." They ducked out from the car and closed the lifting door. "Have a good trip Einstein. Watch your head" Doc closed the door over him and Doc pulled out a remote control similar to the one you would find for a toy car or plane. "You got that thing hooked up to the car?" " Watch this." He fiddled with the buttons of the controller upon the controller. Wherever he steered the car would follow. The car sped around the lot until it finally faced them. "If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits 88 miles an hour, you're gonna see some serious shit."
And with that he flicked a switch on the controller. He held the brake of the car and continued to hit the gas while the diameter kept going up and up. They looked at each other anxiously while Marty shifted side to side nervously. Doc flicked the switch once more, releasing the car and sent it speeding towards them. Marty went to move but Cypher held onto him before he could do anything and just as the diameter hit 88.4 miles the car seemed to start glowing and sparking and then just...Disappeared!
Two lines of fire raced under their feet where the car would be and they all looked at each other and for a loss of words. "What did I tell you?! Eighty-eight miles per hour!" The Doc yelled for joy and started jumping up and down and Cypher was soon after. She laughed excitedly ad jumped up and down with her father while Marty stood confused. "The temporal displacement occurred exactly 1:20 a.m. and zero seconds!" Cypher expressed excitedly but also noticing her lab coat caught fire a bit. "AH! Pat down! Pat down!" She stomped on the end of her coat. "Jesus Christ. Oh Jesus Christ Doc! You disintegrated Einstein!" Marty panicked. Calm down Marty. I didn't disintegrate anything." Doc pulled out a notepad and started writing. "The molecular structure of both Einstein and the car are completely intact." Then where the hell are they?" "The appropriate question is 'when the hell are they? You see, Einstein has just become the worlds first time traveler! We've sent him into the future!" He ran off pointing off into the distance.
"One minute into the future to be exact. At precisely 1:21 a.m. and zero seconds, we shall catch up with him and the time machine." Doc held his head dizzily while Marty tried to catch up his thoughts. "Wait a minute, wait a minute, Doc. Uh are you two telling me that you built a time machine..out of a DeLorean?" "If you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it in style? Besides, the stainless steel construction made the flux dispersal.."
Before he could explain he was interrupted by the beeping of his watch. "Look out!" They quickly dived and the car came speeding through where they stood and skidded to a halt. They slowly walked up to the car cautiously. It looked like the car was covered in dry ice or something. It radiated gas all around its body. Doc went to open it but he yanked his hand back and hissed in pain. "What? What? Is it hot?" "It's cold. Damn cold" Doc finally opened the door with his foot and revealed Einstein waiting inside.
"Ah, ha-ha! Einstein you little devil" Cypher went in for a closer look holding up their timers. "Einstein's clock is exactly one minute behind mind and still ticking!" Cypher ruffled his hair and picked him out of the car and he went inside the van. "He's alright." "He's fine. He's completely unaware that anything happened. As far as he's concerned, the trip was instantaneous! Thats why he's watch is exactly one minuet behind Cyphers. He skipped over that minute to instantly arrive at this moment in time. Come here. Ill show you how it works!"
They raced back over to the car and Doc hopped inside.. "First you turn the time circuits on." Doc flicked a lever and a device that read 'month-day-year-hour- min'. "It tells you where you're going, where you are and where you were. You imputes your destination time on this keypad. Say you want to see the signing of the declaration of indolence you type in July,4 of 1776. Or witness the birth of christ!. Oh! Here's a red-letter date in the history of science! November 5, 1955. Yes of corse November 5th, 1955." The Doc started laughing to himself, holding his head. "What happened?" "That was the day I invented time travel. I remember it vividly. I was standing on the edge of my toilet, hanging a clock. I lost my step, slipped and hit my head on the edge of the sink. When I came to, I had a revelation. A vision. A picture in my head. A picture of this!" He pointed to something behind the seat. It was triangular and had three main pivots that glowed and looked electric.
"The flux capacitor."
"Flux Capacitor?"
"It's taken me almost 30 years and my entire family fortune to realize the vision of this day. My god, has it been that long? Things really have certainly changed around here." He stepped out the car. "I remember when this was all farmland as far as the eye could see. Old man Peabody owned all of this. He had this crazy idea about breeding pine trees." he remembered his past vaguely as Marty took in every second he could. "This is, uh--This is heavy duty, Doc. This is great. Does it run on regular unleaded gasoline?" "Unfortunately, no. It requires something with a little more kick. Plutonium."
"Uh, plutonium. Wait a minute. Are you tellin' me this sucker is nuclear?!" Marty yelled surprised, putting the camera down. "Hey, hey, hey! Keep rolling there. No, this suckers electrical but I need a nuclear reaction to generate the 1.21 gigawatt of electricity I need." He explained. "Doc! You don't just walk into a store and buy plutonium. Did you rip that off? Cypher were you in on it?" He asked looking to Cypher next. Doc came striding back making his arms signal a no motion. "Of course. From a group of Libyan nationalists. They wanted to build them a bomb so I took their plutonium and gave them a bomb casing full of used pinball parts. Now come on! Let's get you two in some radiation suits."
"Jesus!"
★━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━★
After they were done getting dressed into their suits they walked back outside where Doc took out a case containing multiple warnings of radiation and carefully took out a red canister containing a red substance. He cautiously inserted it into the engine and it let out a soft hiss and he screwed back on the top. "It's safe now. everything lead lined." They took off their radiation helmets. "Don't you lose those tapes now. I need that as a record." He franticly checked over everything and in the process almost forgot his luggage. "Opps almost forgot out luggage. Who know if they got underwear in the future. I'm allergic to all synthetics and Echo has sensitive skin yet a high pain tolerance." "Wait, the future? You're leaving?" "That right. Twenty-five years into the future. I've always dreamed of seeing the future beyond my years and seeing the progress of man kind and I couldn't dream of leaving Cypher. Why shouldn't we? I also want to be able to see who win the next 25 World Series?" He laughed. "But but this is so soon! Does anyone else know?" Marty asked worried and panicked. "What about our trip Cypher?"
"What trip?" The Doc asked raising an eyebrow. Cypher looked around panicked looking for a way out of this conversation. "It's-- well! It's...nothing"
"Look me up when you get there"
"I doctor Emmet Brown along with Doctor Cypher Brown, are about to embark on a historic journey. Wait what am I thinking! I almost forgot to bring extra plutonium. How do I expect to get back? One pellet, one trip! I must be out of my mind!" His attention is drawn away from the camera by Einsteins barking. "What is it Einie?" He looks to the road and sees a van heading straight towards them.
The Libyams.
"Oh my god. They found me. I don't know how but they found me. Run for it Marty!" He yelled dragging Cypher by her arm. "Who? Who?" "Who do you think?! The Libyans!" Cypher yelled pointing out to the other side of the parking lot. There were men yelling in Arabic with guns stop on top the van. "Holy shit!" He made a ran to the van and the Libyans fired bullets rapidly. the Libyans went to shoot Cypher but Doc in the nick of time covered her with his body and covering her ears taking the fire for her. "NOOO!" The Libyans noticed Marty a shot at him as well but he took cover.
"YOU BASTARDS" Cypher yelled through tears but they ignored her. The car circled around meeting Marty on the other side and he stood, frozen like a deer in head lights. And then he heard the pull of the trigger and...nothing. The Gun had stalled! The man shouted angrily in Arabic and Marty made a mad dash for it again he saw and heard Cypher sobbing and choking over her bleeding father. She couldn't look away from his cold lifeless eyes, his hand still holding her.
He died for her...
Marty came behind her trying to take her away from the lifeless Doc without crying himself. He dragged her kicking body to the car and yanked onto his lap and slammed the door closed. Her nails drew into his skin and she sobbed into his shoulder hard. He put the car in drive and slammed the gas. The Libyans chased after them still shooting relentlessly. He weaved in and out of their line of bullets and looked through the rear view mirror to see them wielding a fucking rocket launcher. "Holy shit! Let's see if you bastards can do 90." He shifted again until the lights around him started flashing he pressed harder into the gas and held Cypher close until...

15, 21, 23, 31, and 35 for the ask game, please
15. What’s the weirdest fandom you’ve ever written for? I don't think I really have one? BTTF is the first fandom I've ever posted fanfics for. As a kid, I wrote bizarre stories about the Care Bears, where they were all mischievous and evil and went around the world causing havoc. Does that count?
21. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!) I'll give the generic answer and say Doc and Marty, lol. They're such a great duo; delving into their friendship in my writing is always fun. Oh, you know who else I love writing? Marty and Verne. One of the elements from the cartoon series that I really enjoy is the close bond they have, and I like incorporating that into any interactions they have in my fics. There's a little bit of the big brother/little brother dynamic between them in "Harborage", and I'm actually finishing up a one-shot that focuses on the two of them right now.
23. Do you prefer prompts and challenges, or completely independent ideas? For the most part, I prefer independently coming up with ideas. Prompts can sometimes be helpful in nudging me in a certain direction, but I don't use them often. Challenges tend to intimidate me, which is why I've never attempted any of the BTTF-themed writing challenges that have gone around.
31. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them! I don't have any that are prominent enough to talk about. If I create any original characters, it's usually only to have them in very small roles or just sort of in the background. My only real OCs that come to mind are like... John (the guy who ends up owning Doc's garage) and Mrs. Clark (the librarian) in "Despite the Distance." John is literally only briefly mentioned just for plot convenience, though, so he hardly counts. I do kind of like Mrs. Clark, though. She's the one who had to ban Marty from the library unless he was with an adult--because of the big brawl he got into there--and so she's suspicious of him, but she also has sort of a soft spot for him? Listen, I only gave her a couple of lines, but I decided that she sees him as a stray, feral kitten and wants him to get his act together and live up to his ~potential~.
35. Ramble about any fic-related thing you want! Okay, okay, so, I'm nearing the end of my current fic, "Because of the Barriers," and have already got several upcoming fics lined up that I'm excited about. As mentioned above, one is kind of Verne and Marty-centric and is basically done. I literally have just a couple of sentences left to write at the end. It snowballed one day from me having this scene stuck in my head of Doc and Marty walking in the woods around the Brown property (the farm that I headcanon Doc moves to outside of Hill Valley post trilogy) and led me down the rabbit hole of, "Ok, but why are they walking in the woods? What's the story here?" Ultimately, I came up with a fic where Verne has run away from home, and Doc recruits Marty in helping to find him. It's not a long fic, but I found I had so much room to not only include some great Doc and Marty friendship stuff but also take a look at Verne's role in the Brown family (being the outcast and "black sheep" of sorts, which is pulled from his characterization from the cartoon), the brotherly connection he and Marty have, Doc being intensely in Dad-Mode, and just general complicated family dynamics. Idk. I had a blast writing it. I don't know if this will make any sense, but Marty is peak Marty in the fic. Like. He is so Marty.
I will be much briefer about the other fics because that was a lot of rambling already. One is my attempt to finally jump on the "Stuck in 1885" au bandwagon that so many others have been writing about, and I can't wait to get to it. It's only in the outline stages currently.
Another is a multi-chapter focusing on those "missing" scenes from 1955 in the first movie--basically, what Doc and Marty were up to in the moments we didn't see on screen. I've always wondered what it was like for Doc as he got swept up into the whirlwind that was that week spent with Marty. There's something about that scenario, Marty being a stranger to Doc while Marty already has such a deep bond with him, that I've always wanted to take a look at. It will definitely be slice of life, and I already have a chapter and a half done.
I'd also like to try writing something inspired by the "Time Travel Memories" kit that was released a year or so ago that contained that letter Marty wrote that revealed he told Dave and Linda about being a time traveler at some point. I think there's a lot of potential for a story there; I just have to work out the details of where I want to go with it.
Thanks for the ask!

Home stretch everybody! The first time we see George feeling an unabashed Positive Emotion and also just a really cute panel in general. I think I maybe haven't mentioned how much I love how hands are drawn in this style too, which is likely a weird thing to say but like it's just Such an appealing art style.
Tumblr media
AH okay very. Very legitimately forgot this was coming next when I decided to say that Marty honey I'm so sorry. As much as this scene makes me sob it is legitimately interesting to note what little can be gleaned from trying to translate the text around this. His hearing starts to go, he can't breathe, he can't stand- it's altogether about as unpleasant and painful as you'd think. It's also really something because I'm pretty sure he APOLOGIZES to the musician asking him what's wrong. "Sorry, I can't play" Marty honey please.
Tumblr media
BUT IT'S OKAY HE'S FINE AND LOOK AT THE LITTLE GUY. He's having such a great time. Legitimately don't know what emotion I'm expected to be feeling while he's jamming out after Johnny B. Goode but if it isn't sheer joy and pride and yelling "THAT'S MY BOY LOOK AT HIM GO" then what's the point. Buncha buzzkills in the crowd smh. He's high on life and having one of the best times of his life with a CROWD that's CHEERING for him! Let him have his fun!
Tumblr media
THE HUG..... THE HUG..... interestingly ONLY shows Doc's half of the hug, but the rough translation of this section, of Marty's thoughts, are heartbreaking as expected. "Please, read that letter and survive. And again, show me exciting inventions." I'm sobbing in the Wendy's drive through.
Tumblr media
DOC DRAWN SO DRAMATICALLY. Look this is such a dramatic scene but there's so few of Doc's like legitimately goofy faces and mannerisms drawn and I can't stop laughing at the idea that this may be the first idea of Doc a kid in Japan might get. YES this scene is actually really dramatic and yes it stressed me out SO bad on the big screen but please I'm cackling.
Tumblr media
OKAY NO BUT THIS. THIS. This captures the energy so well, so intensely, god I can Feel it. The art is wonderful. I'll say it a thousand times til you hear me in your sleep.
Tumblr media
THIS. THIS. THIS. THE MOST IMPORTANT PICTURE IN THE BOOK. THE MOST MOST IMPORTANT. Marty smiling and crying and holding the letter and he's just Feeling So Much but Doc is alive and Doc's smile and. God. Please. I love them I love this movie this is so good.
Tumblr media
Things Keep Happening To Local Boy Even When He Thought He Had Seen All The Things. The power in feeling Marty's panic even without seeing his face is so good. Also Dave and Linda look really cute here too it's great.
Tumblr media
Destroy. Destroy. End on sight. Dearly Detested has been kneecapped but Not Enough.
Tumblr media
God I just love them all. Doc voice this is serious business why are you not taking me seriously, do Not stare at the banana peel that's not the focus. Marty looking adorable even as he's positively flummoxed. Jennifer, who while the boys are talking is just so desperately like "Mr. Fusion. Are we not going to talk about it being called Mr. Fusion. Are we not going to talk about this whole magic zappy car at all. Is that what we're doing right now." I love her.
ANYWAYS THAT'S ALL THE ART..... I hope the bttf people have enjoyed my contribution because it's really only going to get more rambly and less concrete from here on out. I had to start strong. Also this was really Incredibly stream of consciousness but my actual real brainworms.... heh. Well, actually they'll probably be more stream of consciousness but hey I'm here to vibe. Everyone should Always look at manga Marty McFly he's adorable, I'm enabling all of you to join me <3

Hiiii I know we've never really talked before but I love your blog so much <3
Please ramble about Marty and his relationship with Einstein w/ me it's a crime how much lack of Marty and Einie content there is
So I think Einie is very very protective of Marty and he's the best doggo comforter, like, ever
YOU. YOU DRAW THE MARTY AND DOC HUGS. You've done other things also but I'll be frank you're doing the world a service every time. Actually I don’t recall if I’m following your art account on this one I’m gonna fix that if I’m not. I AM, good. Also I mean hey!! Journey of a thousand miles, friendships start somewhere, yada yada Heya ^^ And it's always so cool to hear people like what I put out! Random nonsense and all.
Einstein and Marty.... oh you have Wonderful taste. Let’s hit this let’s Hit this. I’m gonna use bullet points to hopefully maybe make it more organized <3
I’VE SEEN THAT... or perhaps just made the connection myself when I’ve seen people write or otherwise talk about it, but Einstein lying on top of Marty for comfort and it’s both dog cuddles and akin to a weighted blanket for stress relief/anxiety. Marty passed the Einstein test, we Know this dog absolutely loves this kid- cuddles and protection... yes.
Personally, I like to imagine Einstein is always the first to know when Marty’s arrived. Even past Doc just having, eventually, a general window in mind for when Marty is bound to get there- of course, allowing for obligations Marty’s mentioned, the potential for detention, that kind of thing. Einstein always knows. As far as every time we’ve ever seen him, Einie hasn’t come off as a very vocal dog when there isn’t danger afoot- the terrorists arriving, or Edna.... y’know, in general. Einstein was right <3
But, setting a potential scene- Doc’s working in his lab as per usual, perhaps there’s music playing from the jukebox, and Einstein’s dozing away in his dog bed. Marty’s barely touched the gate and our dear boy Einie’s already sitting up, eyes glued to the door as he waits for Marty to walk inside. How else will he be the first to greet him? Einstein’s never missed a visit and he’s never been wrong. I imagine it’s usually just watching, sometimes walking up to get a pet, but Einie’s got a sixth sense for when Marty’s had a particularly bad day. Even when Marty’s not ready to talk about it yet, Einstein’s at the Ready to sit by for any cuddles, soft fur for petting, and in especially dire circumstances, face licks to help Marty gather himself back up.
I also think Marty absolutely feeds Einstein french fries when they bring back Burger King. He was Einstein’s favorite little guy before then but this was icing on the cake. He pretends to be slick but Doc absolutely knows he’s doing this- the couple weeks he let Marty live thinking he was sneaky were just very amusing.
OH YES AND WALKS. Marty and Einstein on walks is I think just a very good experience. Einstein’s a well-trained dog and doesn’t pull or bark too often, so they’re usually pretty peaceful affairs! I think the funniest mental image is that it’s actually not really Einstein that pulls along to random things or derails the walks, but Marty who will sometimes make an impulsive decision to walk the opposite way today, or take a long way around to burn some energy or because he wants to admire that sick four wheeler again. Einstein follows along obediently of course, because he loves the walks and also because he’s stuck to Marty’s side like glue anyway, this is just a new environment. In my head I can also easily imagine an occasion where Marty might’ve wandered off where he shouldn’t have, or perhaps they stayed out a tad too late, or what have you that led to what could’ve been a dangerous encounter... were it not for dear faithful Einstein being suddenly very scary and loud! Einstein is ride or die and he says it won’t be Marty who dies, so it sounds like anyone who messes with them is sorely out of luck.
Sometimes when Doc is out for whatever reason when Marty arrives after school- perhaps off to pick things up, perhaps just in the backyard- and Marty’s had a bad day, he won’t wait to tell it to Doc. Einstein is a very good listener- he’s listened to Doc’s many many rambles and rants and ‘taken part’ in conversations, and he’s listened to every single name under the sun Marty’s used to describe Strickland, Biff, and any number of other unfortunate encounters of the day. Oh, if dogs could talk. Well, Einstein probably wouldn’t say terribly much, I think he’d still be a bit of a listener.
A boy and his [best friend's] dog :) man this is a really fun thought exercise it’s making me smile a lot.

Fired Up // a prompt that literally no one asked for or wants but I don’t care because I love Garcia Flynn and I want him to have a family again :) Alex never tired of flicking through the leather bound journal. She had read it dozens of times, she knew it like the back of her hand, she had memorized certain pages and yet each time she opened it, it felt as though she were seeing it all for the first time. It had been different back then, though. It had felt as though it were just her and Flynn against the world, just the two of them against her brother and his team, and against Rittenhouse. But now, after working with and growing close to Lucy, the words in the journal Lucy had yet to write held a whole new meaning. It had all seemed so unbelievable at first – time travel, an evil organization so intent on changing history, and a small team of just three people trying to stop someone who was always one step ahead. It was like something out of a science fiction movie and Alex had started to understand how Marty McFly must have felt when Doc Brown had shown him the DeLorean. That was why Alex was struggling to understand how Flynn had so easily believed Lucy when she has supposedly appeared from the future to warn him about Rittenhouse. She’d never really given it much thought before but being stunk in this godforsaken bunker had given her nothing to do but think, and it occurred to her that it didn’t make any sense. Flynn was nothing if not careful, he never rushed into anything without thinking it through and she found it hard to believe that a journal was enough to convince him that time travel existed. Her eyes drifted from the page she was reading and landed on where Flynn was sat on the too-small sofa across from her, his feet propped up on the table and his eyes trained on the TV. It was rare that they found any time alone in the common area of the bunker, but here they were. Alex assumed Wyatt was done keeping an eye on her and just being a general pain in her ass, but had no idea where everyone else was. Still, she wasn’t bothered, she supposed. It gave her time to talk to him. “Hey.” Flynn’s tore his gaze away from the TV as he shot her a confused smile. “Hi?” “I was just wondering,” Alex started, standing up from her seat and walking towards him, squishing into the seat beside him. “Can I ask you something?” “You just did, Alex.” She rolled her eyes. “You know what I mean,” she huffed, and Flynn shrugged. “So, I was just thinking and… Well… I know you said Lucy came to you from the future or whatever, and she told you all about the time machine and Rittenhouse and everything, but… Well, how did she convince you? How did you know she was telling the truth? She must have had evidence.” “You’re reading it,” Flynn gestured to the journal in her hands. “This was all?” Alex raised an eyebrows, waving the journal in front of him. “A book that anyone could have written at any time?” Flynn frowned. “You’ve known about the journal since you found me.” “No, I know, but…” Alex shifted, biting down on her bottom lip. “It just seems… strange, that’s all. I’ve never really thought about it, but this was enough to convince you there was an actual real time machine and that you could go back in time and stop the people responsible for killing your family? If someone gave this to me in a bar I’d think it was the ramblings of a mad woman-” “Has Wyatt gotten into your head, hmm?” “What? No,” Alex shook her head. “No, Wyatt hasn’t said anything to me. I know you, Flynn, and I know you never would have jumped into this without definitive proof. This journal… It just doesn’t cut it. So what else did Lucy say to you?” she asked, and Flynn pursed his lips. “You’ve never questioned me before. Don’t you trust me, Alex?” “Of course I trust you-” “Just not enough to believe me?” he scoffed, standing up from the couch and walking towards the fridge. Alex followed, rolling her eyes behind his back as she dropped the journal on the coffee table. “I do believe you, I just don’t think you’re telling me the full story,” she shrugged her shoulders and Flynn paused, the fridge door open as he reached inside and grabbed a bottle of coke. “Okay I know how that sounds, but I just- listen,” she paused. “There had to be something else, something she told you. I just don’t understand how her journal was enough. I feel like- like there’s something you aren’t telling me and- I can’t explain it. I don’t know if it’s being here with everyone, with us suddenly being on the same side as the other and with us being stuck here with Wyatt, but you’re… Different. Things are different. You’re different with me.” Flynn sighed, glancing around to make sure they were really along before he put his drink down on the table beside them. He moved so he was stood in front of Alex properly, blocking her from view if anyone were to walk down the corridor and she looked up at him, patiently waiting for him to explain. “There was something else. Something that she showed me that made me believe her,” he told her carefully. “But I can’t tell you what that was, Alex. You have to trust me.” “I do trust you, I- I left my brother and my friends because I trusted you, Flynn. I put my life on the line on multiple occasions and I need to know why. What aren’t you telling me?” she asked again, but Flynn just shook his head. “I can’t tell you. It will change everything.” “Plenty of things have happened that have changed everything!” Alex threw her arms in the air. “Jess came back from the dead. Jiya has visions, Lucy’s great grandad is alive and kicking in and probably younger than I am, Wyatt brought JFK to 2018 and lost him. Something is always happening to change everything, but we always deal with it, because we always work together. You need to tell me what she showed you, Flynn. Especially if could affect the rest of us. Please.” Flynn stayed quiet, his eyes not leaving hers as he raised an eyebrow. Alex stared back at him, her brow furrowed slightly as Flynn continued to stare pointedly at her. They stayed like that for a while, the air around them seemed to grow thicker with each second that passed until Alex’s eyes widened slightly when realization hit her. “Me?” she asked in disbelief. “She showed you me?” Flynn shrugged and turned to walk away, but Alex reached out and wrapped her fingers around his write to keep him there. “Why was that enough to make you believe her?” “Alex…” Flynn paused. “I’m not supposed to tell you. It could change-” “Everything, yeah, I know,” Alex snapped. “But we’ve changed the past before and-” “Not the past,” Flynn interrupted. “It could change the future.” “What are you talking about?” her tone was almost pleading, her grasp tightening around his wrist and Flynn paused, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Flynn, please. If this involves me, I deserve to know. Is something bad going to happen to me?” Flynn’s eyes snapped open. “Bad? No. Alex, I would never let anything bad happen to you.” “Then what is it? What aren’t you telling me?” He paused, staring at her for a few minutes as he debated on whether or not he should tell her what Lucy had showed him. He knew it wouldn’t give her peace of mind – if anything, it would make her worse. It would make her paranoid, more anxious than she already was. But he also knew she was scared. Her eyes were wide, panicked, and her breathing had quickened in the few minutes they had been talking. No matter which option he chose, it wasn’t going to make anything better for Alex. But he knew her, and he knew that unless he told her the absolute truth, she would create far worse scenarios in her head. “It wasn’t just you she showed me,” Flynn told her quietly, but Alex’s frown deepened in confusion. Gently pulling his wrist out of grip, he carefully placed her hand on her stomach. “What…” Alex started in bewilderment, but Flynn saw it the second she realised what he was getting at. Her face was blank and her jaw has gone slack, and she slowly lifted her own hand to place it on top of Flynn’s. “W-when?” she asked in a whisper. “I don’t know,” Flynn admitted. “Not yet. But one day.” “I- I don’t-” “Sorry, am I interrupting something? Oh, wait, I don’t care.” Alex dropped her hand back do to her side and quickly brushed Flynn off her when she heard Wyatt’s voice behind her. Scowling at her brother as he shot her a clearly fake smile, she stepped out of the way as he pulled open the fridge door. He paused, one arm resting on top of door and he moved his attention from the contents of the fridge to his sister. “…What?” “Uhm, we’re kind of in the middle of something here, Wyatt,” Alex gestured behind herself to Flynn. “Really?” Wyatt raised an eyebrow, grabbing a bottle of beer from the fridge and pointing behind Alex. “Because it looks like he’s headed in that direction.” Alex quickly turned to glance over her shoulder to see Flynn disappearing around the corner leading to his room, and she sighed heavily as she ran a hand through her hair. “You’re such a brat, Wyatt,” she muttered. “Yeah,” he grinned, throwing an arm around her shoulders and leading her back towards the sofa. Alex followed him reluctantly, casting one last glance in the direction Flynn had walked off on in. Whatever they had to talk about, it would have to wait. After all, they had all the time in the world.

actually funny story about kins and jobs--I'm not employed yet, but I want to go to film school soon and become either a director or a foley artist [foley art is so cool but a rambling for later, please look it up if you want to know more about movie sounds!!], that is pretty much because of my Marty McFly kin! I did a full analysis about how the camera shots and angles of BTTF show that me and doc see each other as equals; I also just love cinema too <3 [#🎨🖼️🖌️]

Doc & Marty Friendship Mega-Post
As anyone who sees my posts knows, one of my favorite things to explore in regards to Back to the Future is Doc & Marty's friendship. There are plenty of examples of great dynamic duos in TV and movies, but these two are by far my #1. I know I’ve said it (many) times before, but I’ll say it again: their friendship is beautiful for so many reasons. So, I decided to put together a huge list compiling my absolute favorite things and moments about these two time-traveling best buds.
(Absolutely gonna need to put this under a cut. Going full-ramble, people.)
THE BED & THE AMP. Listen, I can’t even estimate how many times I’ve seen the first movie, and I never knew that there were two beds in the lab until like, 3 months ago? But it is such a good detail, and definitely one of my favorites. It makes sense too, because obviously there are probably nights Marty is helping out with a project & it gets super late so he just crashes there. But I can also imagine that Doc fully realizes that with Marty’s dysfunctional home life, his friend is gonna need a break from it all every so often. And the amp? Look, I don’t care how it came about. Maybe Marty asked Doc if they could build one. Maybe Doc decided completely on his own to just spend weeks putting the thing together. Either way, it is wonderful. Without any dialogue or backstory needed, these things tell us that Doc’s lab is a safe-haven for Marty. There’s a key right under the mat so he can come and go as he pleases, a bed for him, and a gigantic amp that he can play his music on without fear of being told he’s too loud.
The whole “If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything,” line. I made a whole post about it, so I won’t go into my thoughts again, but yeah, it gives me feelings. (see post here)
How absolutely thrilled Doc and Marty are to see each other in the twin pines mall scene. (It is honestly one of my favorite moments in the entire trilogy, even though it’s almost a blink and you’ll miss it kind of situation.) In like 5 seconds, there are several things happening in rapid succession that wonderfully establishes their relationship. The warmth in the way Doc says, “Marty!”. The fact that they both immediately reach out to the other for physical contact. The smiles on their faces. This is not just a scientist and his assistant, people. These two need each other and bring genuine joy to the other’s life. I mean, look at them.
Tumblr media
And this whole little scene is even more significant when you take into account the McFly dinner scene that we got directly prior to this. (See my breakdown of that scene here-it was one of my favorites to write) You see Marty go from this still, quiet, solemn shell of himself at dinner to smiling and asking questions and moving all around in excitement and it is FANTASTIC.
This line:
Tumblr media
There’s just something kind of warm and familiar about it? The way that Doc says it almost as soon as Marty starts to ask a question & the way he reaches out to briefly grab Marty’s vest in order to further get his attention just seems to convey that this is something Doc is really used to. Like he knows that when Marty is curious about something and excited that a barrage of questions is soon to follow, so Doc’s in the habit of quickly reeling his friend’s focus back in when they have a specific task to accomplish. I don’t know, I just like it a lot.
The fact that Doc doesn’t “dumb” anything down. He rattles off all his scientific jargon, knowing that Marty has the capacity to follow along as best he can and ask questions if he needs clarification (in which case Doc will completely break it down with models or drawings because he’s all about helping Marty to understand). Unlike Strickland, Doc does not see a slacker. He knows Marty just needs to be engaged and that once he is, he’s totally into all this science stuff.
Marty & ‘55 Doc being so comfortable with each other after only a few days. Because Marty of course has to adjust to this younger version of his friend and Doc obviously just met Marty when he showed up at his house, yet there they are...already totally in tune to each other and being the best of buddies.
Tumblr media
THE GOODBYE SCENES. See my ramblings here & here. For real though, Marty pulling Doc into that hug & looking absolutely broken with grief is probably one of my favorite movie scenes. Like, of all the movies I’ve seen. Yeah.
Doc traveling back and forth through time to try to pinpoint what went wrong with Marty’s kids so that he can stop it all from happening.
The scene on the roof of Biff’s hotel when Doc is there with the DeLorean as Marty steps off the ledge? And “Nice shot, Doc!” A+
The whole letter-reading scene in part iii. The way that Marty is wandering all over the lab in the background, touching everything and clearly trying to distract himself from the reality that he’s never going to see Doc again once he gets back to 1985. And when Doc is hyped out of his mind to end up as a blacksmith & Marty goes, “Pretty heavy, huh?” trying to smile but it vanishes instantly & there’s that look on his face that so clearly says he is miserable about this whole situation. And then. AND THEN.
THE ENDING OF DOC’S LETTER from part III. “You’ve been a good, kind, and loyal friend to me, and you made a real difference in my life. I will always treasure our relationship and think on you with fond memories, warm feelings, and a special place in my heart.” !!!!!! Honestly, sometimes I just think about the impact Marty must have had on Doc. Really though. Here’s this guy who’s spent most of his life in solitude. He’s super into science & shunned by the community for being a “nutcase” just because he’s a little different and quirky. So he throws himself into his projects, has only his dogs for companionship, and talks to pictures. Then here comes this kid one day who actually takes the time to SEE DOC and appreciate who he is. Who not only accepts him completely, but thinks he’s cool and totally best friend material. Imagine what it was like for Doc to connect with someone after so many years spent alone and looked down on.
The look of awe on Marty’s face during the scene with the telescope, as he realizes how smitten Doc is with Clara. He gives this great expression with his head sort of tilted and there’s this disbelief and wonder in his eyes as he takes in the fact that he’s seeing his best friend in love for the first time.
Tumblr media
Just...all the times they risk everything to save the other’s life.
The ease with which they show affection to each other. It’s so natural and refreshing to see. They’re open and honest about their feelings, allow themselves to get emotional, and are totally comfortable with physical closeness in the form of a supportive hand on the arm or a hug.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
** I of course have to acknowledge the completely baffling lack of a hug in the parking lot scene at the end of the first movie because...honestly, who was responsible for that? I would like a word with them. You’re telling me that after running all the way to the mall, scared out of his mind at the thought of Doc dying all over again, then the way that Marty just collapses and starts sobbing that he wouldn’t immediately grab Doc after seeing that he’s alive??? I tell myself that when the scene cuts after Doc delivers his line about the letter that there was a hug there**
So, um....yeah. I could go on I’m sure, but these are the main things that came to me when I started thinking about why it is that I enjoy these guys so much. It all goes back to the same theme I’ve mentioned in several posts. There is so much heart to these films, and a lot of it comes from the friendship between Doc and Marty. They’re both misfits in their own way. Doc is isolated from the community and Marty is living in a house devoid of support and healthy role models. They fill in gaps and are a source of safety and love in the other’s life. And I appreciate so much how these funny & exciting time travel movies are able to include such a complex, beautiful friendship between a 17 year old kid and an old scientist.

Hey! So, I'm working on an fic in which in the Lone Pines timeline, Marty has a little sister who's about six or seven (she was a bit of a surprise). I know a lot of people might have a similar idea, but I just love this idea of Marty seeing this little girl at the breakfast table and he has no idea who she is, but she utterly adores him. Since you seem to be the the headcanons expert, do you have any for this idea? Oh, by the way, her name is Leah, by the way.
Hi, so first of all: I love this idea. Please direct me to this fic when it's posted, please and thank you.
Second of all: I wish "headcanons expert" was a valid credential I could use in my actual life. (also, thanks!)
Don't know what you've already come up with in terms of this idea, so obviously my own headcanons may not work for you. Gonna include just whatever comes to my mind and run with the idea in general (not so much focusing on headcanons that fit into a specific fic or plot). Feel free to use what you like and ignore whatever you don't in shaping your fic and their relationship :)
I shall put it under a cut due to the unavoidable rambling I must partake in.
Anon (and whoever else is interested), here are some headcanons on big brother Marty:
Marty is understandably baffled at such a major change. I mean, his altered family is a major change already, but a whole other person is a little hard to digest. Dave and Linda may be different, but there are still many things about them that are familiar to Marty. With Leah, he's starting completely from scratch.
He probably goes through a whole range of emotions. Confusion. Maybe some anger. Sadness at not being the "baby" anymore.
Also, when he happens to first meet her is probably an important detail. If she's sitting at the breakfast table (like you mentioned) during that scene towards the end of Pt I, he at least has the benefit of being able to ask Doc questions about her over the course of their other adventures. Maybe during any "down time"/scenes we don't see in the movies, Marty picks Doc's brain about this new family member and is able to get a crash course before arriving back to 1985. BUT if she's like...in her bedroom during the breakfast scene and doesn't emerge until the family is leaving for brunch at the end of III, Marty is pretty much out of luck, lol.
Regardless, Marty has to pull himself together, get to know this little girl, and be thrown headfirst into being a big brother. He'd always wanted a younger sibling, though, so he tries to see the bright side.
Idk what you envision her personality as, but my headcanon instinct is that she's a lot like Marty: headstrong, energetic, and kind-hearted. Maybe the running joke in the McFly house is that they had Marty and then years later got surprised with another mini-version of him.
Anyway, it's abundantly clear right away who Leah's favorite sibling is. She absolutely thinks Marty is THE COOLEST guy ever and follows him like a shadow, which is weird at first because she feels so much like a stranger to him. But she's just so sweet and earnest in her love for him that he feels that innate pull to love her back. So despite not remembering anything about their relationship or about her in general, he does know one thing. He loves this kid.
At the same time, though, he's pretty sure she's also going to be the reason he either loses his mind or goes gray before he's 20. She's every bit as spirited and impulsive as he is, but being so young, she doesn't always have the ability to tell when something is dangerous. Sometimes Marty feels like he is personally responsible for keeping that girl from breaking a bone or setting the house on fire. It gives him a deeper appreciation for his own parents who had to deal with him when he was little.
Marty discovers that Jennifer and Leah have a special bond of their own. Leah looks up to Jen as well and is always excited to see her. Marty is bewildered to find out that, occasionally, the two of them bring Leah along when they go out. They'll plan a "date night" of sorts, but it isn't really a date because they've got a six-year-old with them. So, they usually end up at the arcade or go out to get ice cream.
If your personal headcanons include the Brown family moving back to 1985, you can bring Doc in on all of this! Given that Marty doesn't have the memories, Doc actually knows more about Leah than he does (which is strange & very jarring to Marty). But Leah loves Doc. He's her bizarre, eccentric, mad-scientist uncle-type figure. And once the fam comes back to the present, she becomes fast friends with Jules and Verne.
OOH! Having a little sister could also be a fantastic avenue to explore some of that "time travel aftermath" stuff Marty has to deal with. You know, after having to witness countless horrific, PTSD-inducing events? Well, Leah is super in tune with Marty, and being so young, she's very open about saying what's on her mind and expressing her feelings. So whenever Marty seems off or upset, she immediately stops whatever she's doing and focuses on helping him. Of course, she does this in a way typical of a six-year-old. Sometimes that means loudly asking, "Marty what's wrong??" or "Why are you sad?" in front of the rest of the family. But other times, she takes a gentler approach to comforting her big brother. Giving him a hug, sharing a favorite snack, or making up a silly joke to get him to laugh. She actually may be the family member who is most aware that Something Is Wrong with Marty, though she's unsure as to what it could be. Her top two theories include: a bigger kid is being mean to him at school, or there is a monster under his bed that is keeping him awake and making him cranky and upset.
As time goes on, Marty finds that having such a young sibling is a fantastic way to start working through the whole time-travel fiasco without raising suspicion. He starts getting into the habit of telling Leah bedtime stories, and at first, he really is just reading to her from a book. But soon he starts "making up" his own stories. One about a kid who is the youngest sibling in an unhappy family. A kid whose best friend builds a time machine that he gets to test out (Marty decides to leave out the whole "terrorists show up and violently murder the scientist" part, as well as some of the other questionable content). But night after night, Marty continues to weave together as much of his adventures as possible, all under the guise of just making up a story for his little sister. He tells her about the kid getting his parents back together and how the dad saves the mom from the bully. About how the kid and his friend go into the future, and there are hoverboards and holograms, and shoes that lace themselves. But the kid does something wrong and messes everything up, so they have to fix it. Except it's scary and dangerous and everything is upside down, but he has to make it right. Then, just when things seem better, his best friend disappears into the Old West. And on and on Marty goes, while Leah is on the edge of her seat every night begging for Marty to tell her just a little bit more. Eventually, he reaches the end: where the kid finally goes back home and has to get used to everything that's new and different in his life. Maybe Marty even gets a little choked up at this point, because sometimes he still misses the way things used to be and hates that he can't remember the details of his current life. And the two of them are just sort of sitting there silently--Marty because he's made himself all emotional, and Leah because she's confused as to why Marty seems so sad after telling such a fantastic, exciting story. But she just snuggles up close to him and tells him that maybe the boy in the story will love his new family and life. Maybe he'll be happy. And Marty wraps an arm around her and is quiet a while before adding on to the story and telling Leah that she's right. The boy does end up happy and loves his family, even though they're different.
Aaaand...I'm gonna go ahead and wrap it up there. Maybe you can use some of these as inspiration, and if not, I hope you at least enjoyed reading them. Keep me updated on the fic, because I definitely want to check it out. I don't think I've ever read a BTTF fic with this concept before.
Thanks for the ask!

“Back to the Future”: Thoughts, commentary, and general ramblings on the (bonkers) novel by George Gipe. Pt 8
I'm tired of individually linking the previous posts; it takes too long lol. Just gonna put the last one and y'all can follow the links in there if you missed something. :) PART 7
- Marty's "Darth Vader from planet Vulcan" schtick doesn't quite have the intended effect in the novel as it does in the movie. When George catches up with Marty later in the day, he mentions the strange dreams he had and sort of just shrugs the experience off--which obviously makes Marty panic. So, to help convince George that his encounter was real, Marty casually goes, "By the way, did you happen to see the flying saucer last night?" and starts talking about how some kids had seen a UFO, and they all agreed that it had been in George's neighborhood. Lol
- After Biff falls in the diner, Marty congratulates himself on, "the best-timed trip he had ever executed", implying that he has pulled this move before. Likely multiple times. And now I am forming a headcanon of Book Marty serving as Hill Valley's bully-tripping-vigilante, just prowling the hallways of his school in search of jerks to trip. Also imagining that Marty is well-known for doing this and gets frequently approached by peers who are all, "Um...so, look. I got a problem with this bully and--and they told me you were the guy who--" and Marty holds a hand up and is like, "Say no more. I got you."
His bully-tripping service is typically free, but he does also gladly accept payment in the form of gum (in case he needs to set off more sprinkler systems to escape detention) and Pepsi.
- This is something I haven't mentioned in past posts, but Marty has picked up this cute trait over the course of his stay in 1955 where he shouts, "Eureka!" when he's got an idea. Which all started his first night in the mansion, when he realized they could use the lightning bolt as an energy source, to which Doc was like, Um, you're supposed to say 'Eureka!' when you've got an idea. And Marty really took the suggestion to heart, so now he's saying it whenever he comes up with a plan.
- Biff's objective during the skateboard chase is to "drive Marty right through the glass" of the local bike shop, and he even plans out what he's going to tell the cops--that his brakes failed. And I know Movie Biff also intends to go a similar route by ramming Marty into the truck but. Like, I can't get over how clear the book makes it that Biff's plan to deal with the annoying new kid in town is to MURDER HIM. Marty, meanwhile, has a vision of his impending tombstone, which reads, "Martin McFly--born 1968--died 1955".
- Book Doc continues to be a little too confident/bordering on pompous for my liking. He's very proud of his little Hill Valley replica and there's no, "Please excuse the crudity of this model" line. He's more like, Marty, come look at this awesome thing I built, which just doesn't hit the same.
- When Lorraine follows Marty back to Doc's house, their conversation about the dance is much longer, mainly because Marty is trying so desperately to get out of agreeing to go. He's like, Um, all the running around town made me twist my ankle real bad, ow, oww :(( Lorraine calls him out for being a liar (since she saw him walk home fine), so Marty switches to: Actually, I'm a terrible dancer. Yeah, that's it. Dancing embarrasses me. Which Lorraine also doesn't believe.
- As Marty and George go over the plan for the dance the following day, George remarks that the whole coming to Lorraine's rescue thing "sounds so corny", and Marty's reply is just... "Girls like corn."
And I think I will end the post there.

Alrighty...some of you may remember the question I posed a couple of months ago surrounding the concept of what Marty's life would be like if he'd never met Doc. You can check out some of the great responses I got here, here, & here.
Well, I might currently be in the beginning stages of a fic that explores Doc ending up in a timeline where Marty never met him.
And while this whole thing is taking shape and marinating in my head, I figured I'd open up the floor to additional ideas and details for where you all see a 17 year old Marty being in life had he never met Doc. The majority of you seem to agree that Marty would turn to a life of delinquency (lol), so I would love to hear all your thoughts to help me begin to put together the origin story for my sweet little unhinged, Gremlin-Marty.
What are his habits/characteristics?
What does an average day look like to him? Like, is the kid just kind of a withdrawn troublemaker or is he a full on criminal?
Are any pieces of the Marty we know and love still in there??
Where do you see George & Lorraine being in all of this? Oblivious/checked out? Does Marty's own spiraling only make their own problems (Lorraine's especially) worse? Are they loving and worried but exasperated?
How does this Marty respond to suddenly meeting this random scientist who seems to care so much about him?
Literally give me anything you've got in your head, PLEASE ramble to me.
Thank you for your time.
