I'd love to develop some sort of taxonomic chart of the different prevalent art styles you see in internet groups and how their lineages relate

For example, you have the artists whose style is crisp solid black ink lines and cell shading with a hard round brush, which is heavily influenced by traditional cell animation, which itself is mostly split into two predominant groups (American and Japanese anime) and both of those schools of animation are themselves influenced by their predecessors and so on

And you have artists whose style is big exaggerated shapes and thick outlines and limited color palettes, whose style was influenced by early webcomics, which were influenced by the image resolution limitations of posting art online at the time, which in turn was influenced by sprite animation and classic newspaper comics, which were influenced by their own technical limitations, etc etc etc

I could go on forever about it, but I just think it would be neat to chart out those chains of influence, see where they evolve and converge and split and originate

Foul Legacy trills in surprise, watching the hydro visage fall back into the sea, astonished. the human he just saw, even when made of water, is both a stranger and achingly familiar. he shakes his head and catches your gaze- there's an almost longing look in your eyes, waving your little mitten halfheartedly goodbye. Legacy tilts his head with a worried croon, giving your shoulder a gentle nudge, right over one of the swirling, shimmering scars on your skin, and your antennae droop just a bit. that was you, just now. you before being hunted and slain, subjected to everyone's hatred. his wings flutter in distress at the sight of your downcast expression, carefully pulling you into a delicate hug once he gets the little nod of permission, the sigh he always always waits for to touch or hold you in any way

Childe understands. at the beginning, and even now at times, he felt the same way when using Foul Legacy's form. almost like he was merely watching his actions from the outside. but you can't go back to being human- not yet, anyway- and while you do love your Melusine self, you can't help but also be reminded of everything you lost, just because you wore your own face. Legacy croons to you, claws gently wrapped around your hands as he conjures up a tiny narwhal made of water, just for you. it flips and twirls in midair, floating around your head, and for a moment he sees your eyes shine with that signature sparkle again, drawing a soft, happy purr from the Abyssal monster

one day you'll be able to turn human again, he hopes. and until then and after, he'll protect you

Two weekends of work later, and I've finally finished my hardcover version of @flying-guinea-pig's So You Want To Be A Demonologist! I've never bound a book before, so this was definitely a new experience for me, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out!

It might just be me but I don’t see Rico and Chimi as parents like,ever.I know that it’s canon now that they had children together post-time skip but they would’ve rocked the vibe of chaotic aunt/uncle who live either on the outskirts of the Luna Island or deep in the jungles and who do shit ton of dangerous things (be it protecting the kindoms from the outside forces,experimenting with magic or trying to fight off puma with bare hands).Meanwhile Eagle and Jaguar are in awe of what these two are doing and often beg their parents to go see the Skull Archer and Rooster Wizard. I just KNOW that Rico gifted the Maya siblings explosives at least once,while Chimi tried to teach them how to swim amongst crocodiles.

with bill directly sowing “trust no one” into ford's mind, i'm losing it over the stan twins parallel of taking their abusers "advice" to heart (for stan the concept of toxic masculinity/tough love when we know he was thrown out) and unfortunately passing it down to dipper, someone they both project heavily on to

(but at least in ford's case he learns that his abuser was wrong and gains his own stance on how trust works, but with stan he and dipper never really got to understand how messed up it was…)
