Okay, poke fans hear me out

I Hate

And I mean HATE

The evolution line for quaxly and fuecoco. I was literally so excited about fuecoco and all they gave us was a very much non pokemon looking squared up pipe. And don’t get me started on how ridiculous the final quaxly evolution looks.

So, I decided to take my frustration out and design new end evolution for these babies

Number one!

Dracocorazón, the flower day pokemon.

Pokédex entry: Dracocorazón’s ancestors were feared across Pladea region, and were even known for devouring helpless villagers at the time. However, some decided to try and domesticate it, in order to enjoy the marvelous flower that sprouts from its tail once it grows large enough. Nowadays, offering your lover a dracocorazón is a sign of sincere and powerful love.

dracocorazón is based on the famous dragon from Spanish legend of Saint George, where the dragon is slain by a saint and roses burst from its wounds, leading to the Saint George celebration, on which couples offer each other roses. Its type is fire-fairy, as many had theorized and since the inspiration comes from a fairy tale, but I kinda like the idea of fire-poison, since in the legend the dragon breathed acid.

Number two:

Bailaquack, the gyrate pokemon.

Pokédex entry: bailaquacks are known not only for their passionate and elegant dance, but for their courtship skills as well. During mating season, bailaquacks can be seen partaking in vigorous dances while walking on water, demonstrating their passion to their potential partners.

bailaquack is a water-normal type, and I also based the design on flamenco dancers (the overall outfit based on male dancers, and the tail along with the haircut based on female dancers), but this time I tried to make it look like an ACTUAL pokemon and also not plain ridiculous

So yeah, tell me guys how you feel about the official starters’ evolution and these ones!

So, I have seen the leaked Starter evos for Scarlet and Violet, as well as more than a few other things I would have preferred to not have spoiled. I won't be posting them or describing them here, but I will say this

For SwSh, I struggled to pick a Starter because I didn't like any of them

For PLA, I struggled to pick a Starter because I liked all of them

And now, for SV, I'm struggling to pick a Starter, because I like all of them, but not quite enough to fully get over what issues I do have with them

So an improvement from SwSh, but not quite PLA levels. Make of that what you will.
