You could tell that he was totally lost in his thoughts. His gaze aimlessly staring at the gardens ahead; hand gently cupping one of the dozens of lilac lillies, which had just started to bloom.

You stepped beside him cautiously; studying him. The beautiful flower looked so tiny in his big palm, but his touch was so loving and gentle...

He must think of something wonderful.

"Loki?" You addressed him; voice merely above a whisper. You didn't want to scare him.

No response. Your voice hadn't reached him.

You lifted a hand and slowly laid your palm on his forehead. The raven haired god flinched, before his eyes snapped up to meet yours. "Y-Y/N..."

"Apologies, my love. I didn’t mean to scare you..." Your expression shifted to worry. "What is wrong, my prince?"

Loki swallowed hard; his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. "I-I... I saw these lillies and thought of my mother... How... How beautiful she'd find them and how proud she'd be of them." A tear rolled down his cheek. "I got lost in thoughts. My mind, once again led me to place full of wonderful imagination - and left me stranded..." He sighed; his head hanging low. "She's dead, Y/N. And that won't change."

You felt your heart aching at Loki's painful confession. You felt so sorry for him. It truly wasn't fair.

"Loki..." You lifted your free hand and cupped his cheek; slightly grazing your thumb over his soft skin. "I'm so sorry your mind plays this cruel game with you. It's hard when our own thoughts turn against us and suddenly aren't a friend anymore, but rather an enemy." He nodded, "It truly is... Normally, I can handle my grief well, but..." and sighed deeply. "It's just... I don't know... Seeing these flowers bloom for the first time since she died just did something to me. There are so many things I wanted to tell her, but couldn't... I miss her so much, Y/N."

His teary blue eyes met yours again; causing you to break as well. "I-I know, my love, I know... Come here." You enveloped him in a tight hug; giving him all the love and comfort he needed right now.

"I know this is anything but easy for you. It always isn't, but... Never forget, my love... Frigga is always with you. She continues to live in your heart - and some day, you'll see her again."

i JUST finished watched ff7 advent children (the full movie is available on youtube yall) and my god what an emotional rollercoaster.

sephiroth is menacing. i haven’t even played ff7 yet the moment his theme started playing i just had a super bad fight or flight instinct. “tell me what you cherish. allow me to have the honor of destroying” what an evil line, absolute chills. i don’t even remember the last time a villain scared me this bad.

i feel bad for the three remnants, even though they’re sephiroth’s pieces, they feel like children in their own way. and especially kadaj with the way he always goes “mother”, what a way to tug at my heartstrings man.

loving the character redesigns and weapon designs. reminds me so much of early 3 seasons RWBY weapon designs’ ‘everything can be a gun’ thing. yazoo’s sword/gun, loz’s punching glove that can electrocute, kadaj’s double bladed sword, the detachable swords of cloud and the way he keeps them in his motorbike. and yes, it did reawaken my love for motorbikes.

I decided to answer the second one first since talking about OCs might take a while…

Rambles (and art!!) under the cut :)

I have a few different answers to this one! I definitely draw Legend from linked universe the most, but my favorite to draw is Link from Skyward Sword (both his normal design and his linked universe one)! But that is just when it comes to faces! My favorite outfit to draw at the moment is ALTTP Zelda’s!

and now on to the dreaded topic of OCs… I have a LOT. Some are connected to a loz au I’m sort of working on every once in a while and the other’s are from an original story that’s been fermenting in my brain since middle school… their designs aren’t finalized and neither are their personalities for the most part. I guess I’ll tell you about some from each?

ok! Here are Zelda and Link from my au! (These designs are months old and I’ll probably redo them completely at some point)

I don’t have much of the plot and personalities determined yet, with the exception of Zelda’s. She is pretty young and naive at the beginning, and is pretty timid too! She has to grow out of herself a lot and once she moves past her shyness she has a fiery spirit and a strong sense of joy at discovering the world around her. She is also a menace. You’d almost think she’d have the triforce of courage, but she still wields wisdom, though in a more decisive, instinctual way (almost like she is just following her gut) Sheik is a disguise she uses partly to hide from Ganondorf, and partly because she wants Link to think of her as someone more than the scared little girl he rescued a year earlier. Link, on the other hand, I have no idea how to portray. Much like Ganondorf in this au, his personality eludes me. I do know he is a bit grumpier and pretty serious, and has travelled all his life.

I don’t want to write too much, but I do have a lot of ✨thoughts✨ about them, if anyone is curious!

and as for my actually original OCs, I don’t have any good examples of their designs…

I don’t want to describe the entire plot, so I can’t explain most of the characters at all XD

my main villain however (tho he’s not exactly a villain), I can talk about! So the story is set in a sort of fantasy sort of medieval setting but the poor guy (I haven’t figured out a name for him yet) got sealed away for centuries… he used to be the chieftain of the nomadic tribe that dominated the island they live on, but centuries later with a king on the throne he is a bit out of place! (and also furious about losing everything he knew and loved) His main motivation is revenge against those who (to him) usurped his power and killed his wife and their yet to be born son. He is not at all aware that he is in the future and the very usurpers he seeks to destroy are his own descendants.

personality-wise, he’s a little out of his mind, and has a very sharp wit. He is very barbaric and a bit wild, but carries himself like a king. He has a lot of traits of the classic cool and calculating villain, but his main motivation is the love for his family twisted into a primal rage. When he’s angry he becomes hysterical and tends to speak almost softly, almost laughing, before exploding into anger.

oh, and he’s not exactly human anymore. He’s at this point, and through no fault of his own, basically sentient black mist that can talk and change form. He chooses to stay in the form of his human self however, but looks less so the more he gives up what humanity he has left.

he’s probably my favorite part of the story tbh.

Do you have any Loz and Yazoo headcanons? I get they're not as feral as Kadaj, but Loz is a muscle man with the brain of a child and Yazoo LOOKS reasonable.

-Loz represents Sephiroth's strength, speed, and durability. As the most athletic, he's also not really the brightest. He's actually kinda...well, dumb. He can be malicious but lots of it is because he feels goaded or pressured into it by his smarter brothers. And much like Sephiroth in Shinra, he never questions the idea of him being used, unfailingly loyal and focused on pleasing those he values.

-Loz also represents the most overt side of Sephiroth's internal mommy issues. More than anything else in the whole world, Liz just wants to be held by his mother. He wants to be nestled close like a baby and cherished, with mother telling him everything will be okay. He wants it so badly it chokes him. And knowing he can't have or find her makes him prone to incredible degrees of grief. He reflects the inner pain of Sephiroth's separation from Lucrecia, going through life alone and confused. It only pushes Loz closer to his brothers to fill the void.

-Loz also reflects Sephiroth's discarded memories of Angeal. Being that he's the """warmest""" of the trio, as well as the burliest. Sephiroth attached the image of his more honorable friend with arguably the most vulnerable and childlike section of his personality.

-Loz loves soft things. Soft textures. Wool and velvet. He likes good smells and clear air, and is happiest on bright sunny days when its only him and his siblings together. He loooves when it rains because puddles! He especially likes plants, and secretly has a love for flowers that he vehemently denies.

-He does cry at EVERYTHING though. Because his mind is so childlike, he sometimes has a hard time accepting change or conflict. He's deathly afraid of being abandoned and often feels guilty if he's not strong or smart enough to accomplish things properly. He is always trying to hold his brothers' hands whenever he's scared.

-In truth, Loz just wants a nice quiet spot he can curl up in where he feels safe and secure. He's chaotic like his brothers and always ready to throw down and hurt his enemies, but he also needs structure and safety or else he falls apart.

AS FOR YAZOO

-Yazoo is Sephiroth's alluring qualities, his dry sense of humor, composed attitude, cleverness, and hidden playful streak. He seems pretty intelligent and calm most of the time, often coming off as introverted and even a little awkward.

-He's the most Sephiroth-esque of his brothers, but is still more of a reserved follower than a leader. He has plenty of ideas he just flat out keeps to himself without pushing forward to challenge Kadaj.

-Yazoo is also obsessed with mother, but not to the same fanatical degrees Loz and Kadaj are. He represents the side of Sephiroth's psyche that has sort of resigned itself towards incompletion. He's more interested in exploring his immediate surroundings rather than dwelling on the haves and have-nots.

-Yazoo is a little troll. He loves low-key causing discord through offhand comments and vague insults. He especially loved teasing and messing with Loz, especially if it means he can get Loz to cry. But he also loves comforting and shushing his brother afterwards. He's good at calming Loz down by very gently explaining things in a way his brother can understand.

-Yazoo loves fireworks, the smell of gunpowder, tooling around with technology, and running circles around his opponent. His hidden chaotic side often bursts through the surface in instances of joy. Yazoo is especially fond of multi-scent perfumes, especially vanilla. But for all his refined "chill" qualities, there are times when he just up and says or does something completely uncanny or strange with no context at all.

-He can be pretty sadistic when he wants to be, often letting people mistake his calmer attitude for kindness or rationality. But he loves trashing your shit and pissing all over your plans. It's a fun little game for him. It's all fun and games until Yazoo discreetly blows something up.

Final Fantasy 7 prompts no 72

1. Cloud definitely underestimated Angeal and Genesis. He was barely holding his own against the two, and that was before Sephiroth came. Now his only option was to retreat...

2. "Cloud," the silverette ground out, having lost his original baritone, "whatever you did- undo it."

Huffing softly to himself, he reached down and picked up the now eight year old warrior, carrying him on his hip. "Oh, I plan to. Somehow." After all, Cloud couldn't bring himself to kill a kid...even one as evil as his nemesis.

3. Cloud tensed when he felt arms wrap around him, lifting his torso from the damp soil.

Opening his eyes was far more difficult than it should have been.

"SOLDIER! Can you hear me? Respond!"

"...soldier?" Cloud couldn't remember why he was here...or even his name really. Why was this man carrying him and what was Shinra?

4. Cid and Shera are expecting a baby, and both are super excited. Also everything is space themed regardless of gender.

Clouds stalkers, erm, "fan club" somehow got ahold of a video of him oh so carefully folding baby clothes before putting them back on the rack. They think the dainty and careful way he handles the baby stuff is adorable.

Cloud is mortified.

Cid just slapped him on the back and told him he better get thier kid something cute.

5. Insane Sephiroth meeting Eldrich Cloud in another dimention.

"What's in it for me?"

An innocent question, if not for the fact Sephiroth had just asked him to commit mass genocide. Still, this was a situation he had been dreaming of for years now. His crush puppet was finally willing to follow his strings.

The silverette never noticed the predatory look the blond gave him. By the time he realized he was in over his head, it was far too late.

6. With AVALANCHE gone and the W.R.O. in shambles, Cloud and Sephiroth agree to set aside thier differences to fight a common enemy.

Sephiroth is overjoyed and Cloud is just grateful hes only been called "puppet" a measly three times this week

7. Cloud repeatedly tazing Sephiroth while the former General just smiles down at him, unaffected.

8. Reeve Tueski being a disaster Bi.

Hes getting crushes on ALL of his targets, which is the worst possible outcome for a spy. He didn't even know he was Bi before this gods dammit!

9. Cloud is injured and dying, causing Sephiroth to panic.

Mother will fix this, he thought to himself, I just have to get him to her and everything will be fine.

10. After a "Mini" spell gone awry, Genesis is left the size of an action figure.

He makes a bad situation worse by putting on a pair of devil horns (where did those even come from?) And carrying around a tiny pitchfork. He proceeded to drop down onto peoples shoulders and torment them.

Angeal wants to help, he really does, but he can't. Stop. Laughing.

Zack: Whoa! Who are you?

Genesis: You're inner demon :}

Zack: Aww, you're adorable!!!

Genesis:

Genesis: OK. I'll admit I wasn't expecting that, but thank you.

Genesis: Now go blow up that thing over there.

11. Sephiroth is knocked into an alternate reality and swaps places with the Sephiroth of that world.

He wakes up in a bed with a familiar blond shaking his shoulder, "Cmon, Mother is waiting for us downstairs."

Needless to say, Seph is a little confused, but goes with it anyway. Turns out, the Sephiroth of this world lives with his five younger brothers: Weiss, Cloud, Kadaj, Loz and Yazoo. All of whom serve thier mother, the dark goddess Jenova, who dotes on them incessantly.

Cloud was born prematurely, meaning he came out "underbaked". The Sephiroth of this world had apparently promised mother to coddle protect him. He can do that too...maybe...

Meanwhile, in the other universe:

Our Cloud: I can feed myself dammit!

Other Sephiroth: That's good to hear. Now open your mouth.

AVALANCHE is too busy laughing and taking pictures to help

12. Tifa introduced her new "SOLDIER-killer" drinks to Cloud right before she left with the kids to meet up with Barret for the weekend

Cloud didn't think anything of it at first, but apparently the more mako you have in your body, the more the drink affects you. After three drinks Cloud was giggling like a schoolgirl. Thats when the worst possible thing happens.

Sephiroth shows up...but Cloud was too drunk to care. The blond managed to convince Sephiroth to have one drink. One!

Then they woke up three days later in a Vagas hotel room with massive hangovers, matching tattoos and wedding bands.

The former General is staring at the wall in shock while Cloud is still trying to figure out where "Navada" is on Gaias maps and how he's never heard of it before

YEAH!! legends a magicy man, he frequently uses object magic which means he's really familiar with a whole bunch of types of magic [a magic object will have its own magic source, meaning that people who regularly use object magic experience magic from a variety of sources and a variety of uses (depending on what objects they use)], and i imagine he's especially in tune with magic uses and the differences in the feel of magic in different eras, like you said! the light world has a constant flow of light magic, so light world-ers don't pick up on it unless it's very, VERY concentrated, but legend is very in tune with the light magic, and can feel the way other magics flow through it and affect it. this is also a lot of the reason why he dislike dark magic- he's very familiar with light magic and the way other magic interacts with it [like you brought up, it makes him feel full, aware, complete], so having something that feels like it's supposed to work like light magic but just doesn't can sort of destabilize the connection he has with the world often sends him into a state of dissociation and dereality. the two forms of magic he can't really sense are light magic [as i talked about before, it's something that's very constant, so while he's like, in tune with it, its not really 'sensing' if that makes sense (pun intended)? its more that he feels the way other magic moves with and around it i guess] and mind magic. mind magic in general is very, VERY hard to sense, mostly due to the fact that the changes are internal and subtle rather than a tangible, external change. mind magic is just difficult as a general statement- difficult to use, difficult to sense, difficult to master, difficult to fight against, difficult to deal with. it can be devastating when used correctly, though, and legend knows that very, very well. how else do you think that a whole army of guards could be so quickly and easily convinced that a young boy had kidnapped the princess, and that they had to go kill him no matter the cost? yeah. mind magic on a large scale can be absolutely detrimental, and it won't just go away with the snap of a finger. even if the magic is lifted, it leaves a lasting impact, and when that impact affects a large population of people, it can be incredibly, incredibly difficult to undo [that's also why it's the only kind of magic that's downright illegal without very, very specific circumstances. dark magic is stigmatized and has stronger restrictions than most other kinds, but use of mind magic in nearly entirely banned]. couple this direct and traumatic experience with the fact that he can't sense mind magic and you get the only type of magic legend is downright terrified of. sure, dark magic is uncomfortable, disorienting, even makes him feel physically ill at times, but as a concept? he's not that scared of it. it's more the sensations and associations that make it scary or uncomfortable, rather than the idea. but gods, mind magic makes him so paranoid. it's a downright phobia.
